Hello sir,
I moved from Africa to Ireland a couple of months ago on work permit. My home country (Ghana) is not scheduling interviews and would like to move my interview to Dublin. Documents requested and submitted.
1. Please what’s the best time to request KCC to change interview location without causing further delays on my case- now or I should wait till my documents are confirmed?
2. Is there any particular proof I have to provide in my request for change in location?
3. Please are you aware if Dublin Embassy is scheduling Dv cases?
Kind regards,
April 27, 2021 at 19:32
1. Now
2. No – just ask to unlock your DS260, change the address and then ask them to update the interview consulate becvause you will not be able to change the DS260.
3. They are – not many, but some.
April 27, 2021 at 21:27
Thank you very much sir. I’ll just do that.
I just realised that there’re just 29 selectees in Ireland and 3 have been scheduled.
April 28, 2021 at 12:52
Good morning Simon,
Is it required to have residency in the country where you schedule your appointment ?
My situation is similar to the question above, but I don’t have residency like him/her. Current location is Khartoum Sudan.
thanks,
April 30, 2021 at 04:15
Technically no, but embassies are generally only acccepting “local” cases.
April 29, 2021 at 13:39
I thought that US embassy in Ghana is not scheduling interviews for non migrant visas. But that of other categories(DVs, etc) are being done..

Hi Brit,
Firstly, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all of your advice and guidance. Your website and youtube channel are truly invaluable.
So i’ve got a very rare case that no-one seems to want to help me with and I’m feeling incredibly anxious about it. Hoping you might be able to help.
I’m an Australian who was put through to further processing for 2021. I got stuck in Mexico (due to covid) and spoke to the KCC about changing my interview location to Mexico for this reason. It was all fine by them and I attended my interview in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico on the 12th April.
The people in the consulate were very confused by my case, as first saying they couldn’t process my visa there, then realising that they in-fact HAD received the information from the KCC and that they could process it but it was extremely uncommon.
After my interview I was verbally told that my visa had been approved but that there was a problem with the system. I waited in the consulate for 12 hours and they asked me to return the following day.
When I returned the next day, a different man told me that I actually had not “officially” been approved, as the USA needed to approve my fingerprints, but that the system was not allowing that. (I must note I have never had any run in with the law or any mark to my name) They told me it was just that the system was down and that it should all be fine, that they had emailed the US for help but that it could take a few days. They sent me back to my temporary home in Guadalajara (on the other side of the country) and told me that once the visa had been approved they would post me my passport with the visa inside.
It has now been 12 working days since then and i’ve had no notification of any progress on the case.
I emailed both the consulate (who say they could take 40-60 days to respond) and also the KCC last Monday (6 working days ago) but i’ve had no response. It is also impossible to speak with either the consulate or the KCC on the phone due to low staff because of the pandemic.
I’m wondering what you would advise in this situation? Do you think I will need to just wait it out or would you recommend looking into lawyers or other avenues?
Thank you for taking the time Brit.
Warmest wishes
April 27, 2021 at 19:31
I suggest you wait for responses for a few more days. They clearly don’t know what they are doing (because there are no Mexican DV winners) but they will get it sorted out soon. Phoning is best if you can get through to them.
April 27, 2021 at 20:52
Thank you very much Brit. Yeah, i’ve tried calling them about 16 times- they just transfer me to a line that says they aren’t taking visa related calls right now and then they hang up.
I will of-course continue to wait, but if I don’t hear anything for a while longer do you think it would be worth me trying to get a lawyer to help?
April 30, 2021 at 04:03
Honestly, I would just wait for now.

From the instructions regarding qualification: “To qualify for a DV on the basis of your work experience, you must have, within the past five years, two years of experience in an occupation classified in a Specific Vocational Preparation (SVP) range of 7.0 or higher two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience to perform. The Department of State will use the U.S. Department of Labor’s O*Net Online database to determine qualifying work experience.”
–>Question: Would 1.7 years in Job A at company X and 0.7 years at Job B at company Y, qualify? Assuming both positions / functions, while different, each require two years of training or experience and are at SVP 7.0 or higher qualify?
Thank you sir!
April 27, 2021 at 19:28
Yes
April 27, 2021 at 18:56
Hi Sir,
I have a question about my medical report, I’m dv2021 selectee and I did my medical exam on 09/09/2020 so I applied for AOS before my CN become current and it’s rejected that time. now my CN is current and I need to apply again. do I need to redo the medical test for all family members or the reports will be valid for one year from the date it’s issued?
April 27, 2021 at 19:28
I don’t know. Ask the physician.
April 27, 2021 at 19:52
Hello Brit. My case number is AF519** from Ghana. Will joining law suit help me as my number appears to be too high.

Ghana is so far not accepting interviews. If that continues, a lawsuit may not help – but if you are drowning a stick is better than nothing.
April 27, 2021 at 19:53
Hi Simon, the embassy in Ghana is not scheduling cases in spite of a very low covid case count. Can anything be done ( like joining a lawsuit) or do we just wait for them to start scheduling?
April 27, 2021 at 21:07
You can join a lawsuit, but if they decide not to open they cannot be compelled to open. 2 staffers at the US embassy in India just died from COVID. I’m sure staff in other embassies won’t volunteer to work unless they feel safe.
April 27, 2021 at 23:17
First of all, my greetings. I received the following response from kcc. I want you to clarify.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application. Thank you.
Africa region, case no.9***.
April 28, 2021 at 04:30
i received the same message last week after i asked KCC if they’re satisfied with my documents.
my cn is below 2k (Asia), my embassy is accepting interviews, and my documents were processed in August.
the part that says: “Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application” got me excited. i wonder if it actually means something.
May 1, 2021 at 01:17
Hello sattar
May i ask when you kcc sent you “documents received email”?
May 1, 2021 at 05:02
i sent my documents on August 11.
On August 13 KCC replied with “documents received and ready to be scheduled” email.
May 1, 2021 at 02:27
HI Sattar what is ur case number
April 29, 2021 at 10:24
Hey MG, look what i found in FAQ:
“there is a period of time just before your 2NL is sent when your case cannot be unlocked because it is already scheduled in their system even though it has not gone to the embassy yet.”
it would be a good news if that’s the case.
April 30, 2021 at 04:36
It’s amazing what you can find in the FAQ, huh.
April 30, 2021 at 04:04
This email is sent when KCC is actively scheduling your interview. It’s in the FAQ.
April 27, 2021 at 23:40
Greetings,
Today i got two mail from KCC. One that says-Congratulations! Our records indicate that your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current and appointments are available.
Within 8 hours i got mail that ask my further documents again.
Is the second mail which i got is mistake or should i sent documents again? What do i do sir?
April 28, 2021 at 16:50
Its most probably a mistake. May I know your case number please? And embassy if possible? Thanks.
April 28, 2021 at 01:30
Hi Britsimon!
I just wanted to check, is the email with the subject line ‘Documents Received’ with the line ‘submitted all documentation required by the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview’ in the body in the email the ‘ready for scheduling’ email you talk about or would I be expecting a further email beyond that?
April 28, 2021 at 19:26
Nope, after the Ready for Scheduling email all that is left is the 2nl. Also, make sure to check the edv page, since it has happened before that people get scheduled but don’t receive the email.
April 30, 2021 at 04:05
That is what you want.
April 28, 2021 at 04:32
Hi Simon,
I am a DV 2020 winner with a visa issued on September and expired end of March. Do you know if there have been any updates in regards to travelling with the expired visa? I am planning on travelling this month. I have emailed the Sydney embassy to to clarify this and have had no reply thus far. I have printed the Cross Border document as well as the letters from the Embassy in terms of proof should I be questioned at the border, just hoping this is going to be enough. I’m not too sure where to look in terms of updates, moving your life to another country is a big step so just want to make sure I am as prepared as possible.
Thanks,
Shanna
April 30, 2021 at 04:06
No updates – you can still travel.
April 28, 2021 at 06:40
hey everyone, are any of the lawsuits clearly better to join her, doesn’t it matter much?
April 30, 2021 at 04:07
You can take your pick. They are pretty much designed to achieve the same thing.
April 28, 2021 at 07:15
Hi Simon
Thanks for the guidance
I just noticed something in the website of state.gov which doesn’t make sense because while submitting ds-260 there is no section to upload any additional form, so how can people like me submit any prove documents!!!
This is the what I found in website:
If your family circumstances have changed after you entered the Diversity Visa program, for example, if you have gotten married or had a child, you will need to add your new family members to your case. When adding family members to your case, you will need to upload a document to prove your relationship to the family member being added.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/diversity-visa-program-entry/diversity-visa-if-you-are-selected/diversity-visa-submit-your-iv-and-alien-registration-application.html
April 30, 2021 at 04:08
If they need a document to add an applicant the form will prompt you for that. Don’t overthink it.
April 28, 2021 at 08:45
Hi Brit,
Any news about DV2020 lasuit in April or May
Thanks
April 30, 2021 at 04:08
No
April 28, 2021 at 08:54
Hello Mr. Simon. Please can you help me with a guide on how to submit the supporting documents correctly? If you have a video on it already please share the link so I can follow accordingly.
My second question is; I’m a student and thus would need a sponsor to file the from i-134. I have a cousin in U.S who is a police officer and is willing to file for me. At what point should he file this form and would he have to send it to me to present at the interview or he would have to send it directly to the embassy? Also how long does it usually take to get the form i-134 filed?
April 28, 2021 at 19:22
1). Read this article: https://britsimonsays.com/document-procedure-modification/
2). He is supposed to send it to you either via mail or digital copies that you must print and take with you to the interview(along with all required supporting evidence). He should send it to you as close to the interview as possible.
April 30, 2021 at 04:10
1. You should really take a few minutes to check recent articles. If you had done that you would have found this – https://britsimonsays.com/document-procedure-modification/
2. Read the FAQ about the I-134
April 28, 2021 at 09:25
hi sim, i am DV 2021 winner from Africa, Ethiopia my case number is 14000 still i haven’t received interview what shall i do
April 30, 2021 at 04:11
Have you sent documents? Have you checked with KCC to see if they processed your documents?
April 28, 2021 at 12:28
Hello Brit
i received the “documents received email from kcc”
1) my case number is current since March VB and my embassy is accepting and doing cases, what should i do next? Or is there sth i can do to fasten my interview?
2) in the email they mention” This notice does not necessarily confirm that all your documents have been received or are acceptable.
Important Notice on Missing Documents: You will need to bring all necessary documents to your interview, especially if you have not already provided them to KCC. You do still have time to provide documents to KCC, or an explanation of why a document is not available.
Does that mean my documents are missing sth? Or it’s just general email because at first they mention “congrats our records ..etc”
Thank you!
April 28, 2021 at 21:15
Also they mention
You are ready to be scheduled for an interview if your case number is current
While my case number is already current or it’s also a general text?
April 30, 2021 at 04:22
All numbers are current with the exception of some numbers in Iran, Nepal and Egypt.
April 30, 2021 at 04:14
1. Have you submitted documents?
2. What is the context – what email is that text from?
April 30, 2021 at 12:04
1. Yes and I received the email saying congrats our records indicate you’re ready for scheduling
But i have not received 2nl so is there sth i can do?
2. The same email “ Congratulations! Our records indicate that your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current and appointments are available. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on region and which case numbers have already been processed.
All DV 2021 interviews must be concluded by September 30, 2021. Please refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via the email address listed on your DS-260 to check dvprogram.state.gov for details.
If your case becomes current and you have not received notification to check dvprogram.state.gov, you may contact [email protected] to confirm all of your documents have been received, and that you are ready to be scheduled for an interview. This notice does not necessarily confirm that all your documents have been received or are acceptable.
This notice is not a guarantee of receiving a visa or a visa interview. KCC is a document processing facility and does not make adjudicatory decisions.
Important Notice on Missing Documents: You will need to bring all necessary documents to your interview, especially if you have not already provided them to KCC. You do still have time to provide documents to KCC, or an explanation of why a document is not available. As a general rule, any document that is listed as “available” on the country-specific guidelines must be reviewed by a consular officer during your interview. Failure to obtain all required documents will delay your case. If you claimed any of the exemptions to the passport requirement when you submitted your initial entry you must provide documentation or a statement supporting your claim to an exemption
May 1, 2021 at 02:59
1. You can join the lawsuits, or wait.
2. Ignore that extra text.
May 1, 2021 at 13:57
Thank you Brit for your answers
Regarding 2. So this is the email saying im ready for scheduling because it’s bit different from what i saw on you videos
“Congrats kcc received all documents needed etc”
April 28, 2021 at 13:24
Hi Brit. I hope you’re doing well. I got a notification from Charles chuck regarding the Goh lawsuit which he’s planning to add new plaintiffs this coming Friday. Although the timing is so close, nevertheless becoming a represented by such good lawyers like Charles is added bonus and deserve to be scarified for everything. Sir if I can’t able to join this lawsuit, what’s ur advice on becoming a plaintiff for Morrison one as he’s planning to file this coming month?
April 28, 2021 at 13:29
Hi Kader, what is the prepayment?
April 28, 2021 at 13:42
upfront 2000, no prepayment:/
April 28, 2021 at 14:42
Hello Simom,
I saw that Greg is adding more plaintiffs to the lawsuit and I’m not sure I qualify to be one.
I would only be eligible in this situation “A DV-2021 selectee has submitted initial paperwork, but the case is stuck at the Kentucky Consular Center”.
The question is:
1) Does this apply only to people that KCC has asked for documents?
2) If something is missing or KCC found some type of error can one still be eligible to be a plaintiff?
Thank you Simon
April 28, 2021 at 17:55
Hi Simon… Hope you are doing well… Thanks for your continued support with dv lottery winners from all over the world…may God bless you
My case number is Af35k… I sent my documents in March 10/ got the automatic reply immediately… Emailed kcc on April 1 whether they are satisfied with my documents never got a reply… I only received automatic reply…waited for one week and on April 10 sent an email again got the automatic reply only…. On 24 April I did the same no reply still… Have seen some people say kcc is replying to thea emails..
Is it possible that my emails went to a spam folder because I had a similar incident where my email never went to inbox…is that a likely scenario of what happened?? Have just sent the documents again using a different email…… What’s your take on this… Thank you
April 28, 2021 at 18:18
NO, they are simply not responding, I did it twice, the last one on April 19th, no answer yet
April 29, 2021 at 02:14
I sent them 4 or 5 emails since January. For all of them I got a generic reply within 14 days. All of them were generic replies (eg. Your DS260 has been processed. You should have received or will soon receive bla bla) – They are as good as no reply.
April 30, 2021 at 04:18
Your guess is as good as mine, but you are doing the right thing to try a different way.
April 28, 2021 at 22:18
I think you’ll qualify for the lawsuit as long as your case number is current. Better to ask them. I am also planning to join the lawsuit, but the timing is so fucking close, can’t even have little preparation for it.
April 30, 2021 at 04:15
You should ask the lawyers.
April 28, 2021 at 15:47
Hi Brit,
Can you please confirm that all CNs are not current YET and that that will only be the case starting June 1? Because people keep saying “everyone is current.”
I will be current in May, so hopefully I might still get prioritized before June 1 (if the above is true).
Many thanks.
April 28, 2021 at 19:18
People say that because now everyone is ready to be scheduled, not that they are current. They become current in June but you can get a visa appointment before being current
April 30, 2021 at 04:17
It is normal to say everyone is current now (in April) because interviews are scheduled now for June.
April 28, 2021 at 17:20
Hi sir
What are i5535 and i5540 forms are used for ?
i read it in Interview experience stories page in your blog
Thanks
April 30, 2021 at 04:17
They are no longer used.
April 28, 2021 at 18:39
Hi Brit,
Im on our waiting list for joining the Goh v. Blinken DV-2021 case. Just have several questions before I will make a payment.
1. I still didnt get any email from KCC, I sent my documents yesterday without their request, can this mean Im not eleigible to join the lawsuit?
2. Are any of the lawsuits better than the other or doesn’t it matter much?
3. Is it worth to join the lawsuite and pay 2000$ In advance or need to wait a little?
Thanks
April 30, 2021 at 04:19
1. You could confirm with the lawyers.
2. Your choice.
3. Wait for what?
April 28, 2021 at 19:30
Hello sir. Can i change my embassy if i have student visa for a country?
April 30, 2021 at 04:21
You can try
April 28, 2021 at 19:37
Hello Simon and BIG Thanks in advance for all your help!
I have a question: I am from Bulgaria and I haven`t 1st NL, but as you said and recommended, I will send my documents to KCC. Do they need translation and legalization in English?
Thank you!
April 30, 2021 at 04:21
The instructions vary by country so you must read the instructions including the reciprocity page.
April 28, 2021 at 19:57
Hello Mr. Simon
Thank you very much for your tips and helps.
Regarding your last tweet, Iran’s CNs may all be current in the next VB. My question is, should I wait until then to send my documents to KCC or I should do it as fast as i can?! (My CN is 19k)
April 30, 2021 at 04:22
NOW!
April 28, 2021 at 23:06
Hello Simon,
1. Is a job contract considered proof of work experience or do I have to gather secondary evidence?
2. For meeting the education requirement, how old can the certificate be? Does a secondary certificate from the 1980s qualify?
Thank you for your continuous support.
April 30, 2021 at 04:25
1. You may need additional proof.
2. Of course.
April 30, 2021 at 12:17
Thanks for your reply Mr. Simon. Regarding your answer to 2, can you please give an example of such a proof?
May 1, 2021 at 03:02
Question 2 needs no proof.
April 28, 2021 at 23:57
hello, When do you think the June 2NL will be sent?
April 29, 2021 at 02:14
Probably on May the 1st, although some June 2nl’s have already been sent
April 30, 2021 at 04:26
Probably the last day of the month, but we might see some additional 2NLs sent early next month.
April 29, 2021 at 06:02
Hello Simon, Siskin Susser is now adding new plaintiffs to their DV 2021 case. The details are on their page and deadline is April 30th. I know that Curtis Morrison is planning on opening a case in the next few days also, but I’m not sure of the details. Do you have any info on their case that you can share? It will help to determine which case to join.
Also, if we become plaintiffs in one of these cases and our case miraculously gets called for an interview separately from the litigation, will being part of the case hurt us in any way?
Thank you and well wishes for all your help!
April 30, 2021 at 04:31
No details on the CM case – but it will be the same as before I imagine.
Being on a lawsuit does not harm.
April 29, 2021 at 07:00
Hello Simon, i hope you are doing very great. My wife is a 2021 dv selectee( AF16***) and ever since we learnt about dv lottery we have been listening and following your advice and as a result we cant thank you enough. We deeply and sincerely appreciate all your enlightenment. We live In Turkey( 0 interview so far) and we are in a great dilemma on whether to join the current lawsuit owing to the fact that we considering ( not sure if we are right) CN of 16*** may get a chance to interview by Latest September. We can currently afford the lawsuit fee even though this may restrain our budget. What do you advice us on. Thanks a lot and stay blessed.
April 29, 2021 at 13:55
I would love to hear Simone answer on this one as am on a similar boat (AF16K DAKAR embassy), and still no 2NL
April 29, 2021 at 19:37
Hi Hassan, did you get the email from the KCC to send the supporting documents?
May 1, 2021 at 05:21
Received on January 13th and sent the next day. On February 23rd received the ready for scheduling email. Since then nothing.
May 1, 2021 at 10:30
Thanks for your reply and good luck with your application!
April 30, 2021 at 04:32
It really needs to be your own decision. The lawsuit can’t hurt your case, it may help – so you need to decide whether the money is worthwhile.
April 29, 2021 at 08:29
Hi Simon! I have some questions that are related to the interview (diversity visa):
1. The bank statement you take at the interview need to show that the amount is in dollars or is it ok if it’s in the national currency of the applicant’s country?
2. What is the minimum amount of money a person has to prove it at the interview to not be likely to become a public charge?
3. If the police certificates will be over 6 months old and will have expired on the date of the interview, is it necessary to take out others?
Thank you very much! I really appreciate your work and all the help you offer!
April 30, 2021 at 04:33
1. Doesn’t matter.
2. It can vary, but for some years I have been saying “around $10,000 per person.
3. You may want to do that although police certs are valid up to 12 months old.
April 29, 2021 at 10:11
Hi Simon! Thank you for supporting all of us. Im one of the DV2021 winners. I submitted my DS260 forms last year and have not heard back from the KCC since then. Do I have to send my supporting doc, such as birth cert, court and prison record, etc, to them even though they have not asked for? OR I just need to wait?
April 30, 2021 at 04:34
If you don’t send the documents now you will have no chance.
April 29, 2021 at 10:27
Dear Sir,
I received my documents confirmation and my CN 2021AS000005xx. I am from Iran and my interview location is Ankara.
Recently, All US embassies and consulates in Turkey have been closed due to tensions between the United States and Turkey!!!
I have four questions and hope and appreciate to receive quick and clear answers:
1. With this situation, How should I force (KCC or embassy) to transfer my interview location and become agree and accept this request?
2. Because I received my confirmation, Does KCC should agree and must to transfer to another US embassy? Or I should direct contact to embassy?
3. It is unclear for me by transferring my interview location to one of US embassy, KCC Prioritizes the time of the interview, or the US embassy itself?
4. I Will be at the bottom of the interview queue and will there be a significant delay for me? Or it will have no effect at all?
Sincerely,
April 30, 2021 at 04:37
1. It isn’t that easy. Neighboring embassies may not be able to handle the additional workload.
2. There is no “must”. Contact KCC
3. KCC set the date/time
4. Everyone is at risk right now.
April 29, 2021 at 10:55
Hi simon,
i’m dv2021 winner and my case number 17600 Egypt. I received the mail of Documents which said my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview and my case is in Visa Bulletin for June 2021 interviews so what should i do? have i join to a lawsuit or wait? I need your advise.

Being a named plaintiff might improve your chances. It’s your choice.

A friend of mine claims cannot access his details on the state department consular affairs website. However his case number is within reach for an interview. He says when he logs in he gets contact the administrator.
1. Does it mean he has been scheduled but the info isn’t yet released to him?
2. Is it a technical problem?
April 30, 2021 at 04:39
I don’t know.

Try telling him to use a different browser, I always get the same error on Google Chrome, but when I use Mozilla Firefox everything works fine.

Hello Simon! I hope you are doing well!
Thanks a lot for the endless support you are providing to the DV lottery winners! I am so glad that I have started to follow your blog, as it is a huge help in clarifying things for myself.
My case number is EU 33XXX, and I have not received yet the email from KCC asking to provide my documents, though, after watching your YouTube videos I have decided to submit my documents.
Thus, I used to live in various countries for less than 12 months. For example, I have lived in London for 10 months and in China for 8 months. Do you think it is necessary to provide Policer Certificate from London and China? The instructions says I have to provide PC if I have lived in a country more than 12 months? I would appreciate if you could say what do you think?
BR,
Rumi

If it is close to 12 months, or not easy to prove the precise dates, then get the police certs.

Hi BritSimon,
On January 2021, KCC asked me to send the documents and I sent them by January 2021(4 days after they requested them). Till now I did not hear from them. I called KCC but autoreply said “we are unable to answer your questions please send an e-mail. I sent an email and 2 weeks passed without answering my e-mail. My CN will be current in June.
Is there a way to know whether “they are in delay/backlog” or “they are not unsatisfied with my case”?
Does KCC update the status after the documents processing by “satisfied or not satisfied”? or they just ignore the unsatisfied cases and kept as at NVC?
April 30, 2021 at 04:43
The only way to know is to ask them. There is no special trick.
April 30, 2021 at 08:13
That’s the problem we all have, we don’t know whether they’re not responding because they’re not satisfied with our documents or because we’re simply stuck in the backlog.
May 1, 2021 at 02:50
Correct
May 1, 2021 at 03:29
There is no way to differentiate, no. You just have to ask them or wait for the “ready for scheduling” email.

Hi Simon,
please i’m a AF DV21 Winner, i sent my docs in December 2020 without receiving any email about sending it , and i recently i asked KKC about my case and they said that they received my DS and my docs but it’s still in process , what im asking now is should i send new docs? suching that the date of docs expired after 3 months ?
May 1, 2021 at 03:28
Don’t worry about the expiry date – police certs are accepted up to 12 months.

Hi Brit,
I have a weird question. In 2 times out of 3 that I communicated with KCC, I asked my sister to review my email and send it out. However, the stupid Microsoft email used her name and my email address to send the email out to KCC. Every time, I received a response from KCC in my email, the email was mine but my sister name is next to my email address. If I join a law suit, do you think that would cause a problem?
Thanks,
Sae
April 30, 2021 at 15:14
I don’t think it matters as long as the documents you sent had the appropriate naming, since an email isn’t really a way to verify someone’s identity. If all document are in order and they are appropriately named I think it should be fine

No

Dear Sir,
I received my documents confirmation and my CN 2021AS000005xx.
Sincerely,
May 1, 2021 at 03:32
1. You cannot “force” them – although joining a lawsuit may help.
2. No they are not obliged to do that, and contacting another embassy is useless until KCC send out your case.
3. KCC
4. I don’t know what you mean.
April 29, 2021 at 15:41
Hello Brit, my case is 2021EU19k, I submitted my DS-260 on February 5 and sent documens on March 26, today I received an automatic documents request from KCC should I resend them?
Thanks,
Serhii
May 1, 2021 at 03:32
No – check with them if they are satisfied.
April 29, 2021 at 16:02
Hi Simon!
Big thanks for all of your hard work on providing information about the DV!
I’m a winner of DV2021 and I’m thinking about joining the Siskind Susser lawsuit. A question regarding that. If I join a lawsuit and the outcome is not success is there any risk of being unable to enter the US in the future because you were in a lawsuit against the State Department?
May 1, 2021 at 03:32
No risk.
April 29, 2021 at 16:07

Dear Simon,
Hi, I really appreciated you for your help regarding DV cases. I have a very important question and it would be appreciated if you could help me in this respect. My husband and I are from Iran and we are both winners in DV2021. My case number is AS1800 and his number is AS4400. We submitted DS-260 form for my husband case numebr (AS4400) and he is principal applicant and I am accompanying person and we selected Ankara embassy which is not processing DV cases. My question is:
1- Can we submitted another additional DS-260 form for my case number (AS1800) in which I am principal applicant and add my husband as my accompanying person select Yerevan embassy?
2- I want to know, can we have two active cases at the same time?
Thank you very much indeed.
May 1, 2021 at 03:34
1. You can try that, yes.
2. Yes
May 1, 2021 at 04:30
I really appreciate you for you help. As you know, Iranian winners usually go to one of US embassies in Yerevan, Ankara or Abu Dhabi, but I have another question, can I select any US embassy in the world? because this option is active in DS-260 form.
Thank you for your help
May 2, 2021 at 22:53
You can select any embassy, but they will ignore your selection and choose the embassy based on your current address.

Hi Brit
EU10k waiting for confirmation from KCC for a very long time now. I keep thinking if there’s something wrong. It’s been said by KCC that documents in the local language of the embassy don’t require translations. But it’s the only thing that concerns me. I have seen somewhere that my embassy has an “interview checklist” and they require translations there.
1. Would you recommend resending all our documents including the translations?
2. Do you think resending causes a delay?
3. Is it possible that I’m overthinking and KCC is just being slow?

Hi I am a winner of DV2021. I had an interview on April 20th and my interviewer said my visa is approved and it takes a week to send my passport back. However my CEAC status is still READY and I don’t still get my passport with visa. Some people get passport in 2-3days after interview.. so Is it normal to take such time?
Thanks in advance
May 1, 2021 at 03:38
It takes longer sometimes. Be patient.
April 30, 2021 at 05:23
Hi Brit, I’m a dv2020 winner from Afghanistan case in 21K range. I keep checking ceac case status/IV and this is the message I’m getting:
You are attempting to access a Diversity Visa case for a program year that is not current. The case is not eligible for further processing at this time.
But when I check ceac under visa status it says at NVC.
What does this info mean? What should I do? Is there any hope? Please help
May 1, 2021 at 02:47
As far as the government is concerned, DV2020 is over. That is the normal way things work. THe ONLY chance you may have is if the Gomez case outcome goes in our favor. It will be some weeks before we know more.

Hi BritSimon.
My friend is DV2021 winner. Case number EU29XXX.
He is both Russian and Tajikistan citizen.
Hi is working and living now in Russia.
His country of chargibility Tajikistan.
1-Can he choose Kazarakistan embassy (Tajikistan citizens will have DV interviews in Kazakistan) for interview in DS-260 form although he lives in Russia? As you know MOSCOW Embassy is not making interviews now.
2-He filled the first entry with Tajikistan PASSPORT. Can he continue processing using Russian PASSPORT?
Thank you for your time.
May 1, 2021 at 02:48
1. He can try.
2. No problem.
April 30, 2021 at 06:14
Hello Mr Brit Simon. I am African currently residing in Moscow. I have been living here since 2018. I have to scan my documents, Do I have to look for the Russian policy Certificate.
May 1, 2021 at 02:49
Yes – and police certificates from other countries depending on your history. Read the instructions and take action now – you have left this very late.
April 30, 2021 at 07:47
Hi Simon,
1. In this abnormal year, is it “normal” that a case that’s current since the December VB with documents approved by KCC last August still has a CEAC status of “At NVC” if the chosen consulate is taking (some) cases? My case number is 2021OC3xx and my interview location is Frankfurt, Germany. I haven’t received a 2NL yet.
2. Is there a chance my “At NVC” status suggests some problem with my case other than the general delays of this year? Thank you!
May 1, 2021 at 02:50
1. Anything is possible this year.
2. Every case starts at NVC – so no, it doesn’t suggest anything.
