Hi Dear Mr. Britsimon
Trust you are doing well
I am a plaintiff in Curtis Morrison lawsuit for DV2021 from Afghanistan, how this Lawsuit could help me while US Embassy in Afghanistan, kabul is not processing DV Cases?
What will be my situation In case if US Embassy in afghanistan has refused to process DV Cases or has been closed due to political issues going on in afghanistan?
Cordial regards
May 11, 2021 at 21:27
The lawsuit may or may not work for you. You will have to wait and see – there are no guarantees.
May 11, 2021 at 21:27
Hi Simon
What if I asked KCC to switch my interview location, I’m concerned about my ds 26p . I don’t want it to be unlocked again . Does it take time to processed again.
May 11, 2021 at 22:07
My name that I used to enter the lottery is Giseledelyne Cynthia-Ayukncha Nc Ojong which is same on my passport, but my name on all my other documents are Giseledelyne Cynthia-Ayukncha Ncha Ojong (degrees, birth certifcates etc.). Please notice that due to the length of my name, Ncha was reduced to Nc on my passport. Can this be any issue?
May 11, 2021 at 22:37
It should be OK.
May 11, 2021 at 22:20
I am currently based in the UK with my family, but my one child is in Cameroon. I just wish to find out if I can have an interview in London with my family and the other have her interview in Cameroon with an adult?
May 11, 2021 at 22:37
No – you interview together.
May 11, 2021 at 22:21
hey brit! Can I send my package for the AOS first and then send the medical later? If yes, will doing that have any negative effect on my case? what difference will it make?
May 11, 2021 at 22:39
I don’t know if they will reject your case. AOS questions should be asked here:
https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2022-aos-adjustment-of-status-only.344334
May 13, 2021 at 08:50
I sent my AOS package first then took my medical exam to the interview and handed it in there (it says you can do that on the medical exam instruction sheet I think)…it seemed to be fine to do it that way?
May 11, 2021 at 23:23
Hi Brit
For the second batch from 2NL’s, KCC send those based on embassies or random so if certain embassy received interviews in first batch could get more interviews in the second batch?!
Thank you very much for your help.
May 11, 2021 at 23:34
No the embassy would only get one batch.
May 12, 2021 at 23:57
For example, the embassy of ALGERIA is working but has not received a 2nl batch for June, is that means it will be included for the second batch
May 13, 2021 at 05:35
Wait and see.
May 12, 2021 at 01:10
Hi dear Mr. Britsimon
Have you heard of any document confirmation sent for Asia ?? KCC is so slow with respect to Asia .. only 50 cases got visa till now .. lost of the interviews are for Africa .. so desperate
May 12, 2021 at 04:34
There are some interviews being arranged – just not many.
May 12, 2021 at 04:44
Could be they also for EU region, specifically ATA, Kazakhstan (Almaty)
May 12, 2021 at 02:03

May 12, 2021 at 03:04
Hello AF,
When was ur interview. Even our status shows ready even after 17 days of interview
May 12, 2021 at 12:03

May 13, 2021 at 03:33
Anu, EU4k, interview was 28. What is your situation? what is your age, region. Have you been us before? I think only few people cannot get issued passports like myself. I was in US 5 years ago
May 12, 2021 at 04:34
It means you must be patient.
May 12, 2021 at 02:04
Hi Brit,
My cn is AS29xxx , recently joined the Curtis Lawsuit. I just submitted all documents except
Police certificates because
1. I CANNOT get the police certificate in my region without the KCC “documents requesting email”;
2. My wife studied in Canada & she is applying that record.
Also, my passport expires in Feb 2022.
Q1) Once I have the police certificate, should I resend ALL documents to KCC or just provide the police certificate?
Q2) should I renew passport now, then re-submit both new & old passports ? As I am afraid unlock DS 260 will further delay my process.
Q3) or should I renew passport later when I am called for interview , so to present both new & old one at the interview only?
I sincerely appreciate all your sharing & looking forward to your advise.
I m from HK and this is our last chance to participate in DV.
All the best.
May 12, 2021 at 04:35
1. All
2. Just take old and new to the interview.
3. see 2
May 12, 2021 at 06:16
Hi,
I have OC number 17** in DV2021. My DS260 was sent and all documents received and processed mid las year I got the email saying I was ready to be interviewed and will be contacted when my case number is current. I have not yet heard anything is there anything I should be doing or is just a waiting game?
May 12, 2021 at 16:59
Just a waiting game.
May 13, 2021 at 00:10
Hi Mr. Brit,
Thanks a lot for all the valuable information and guiding you’re sharing in this blog.
I’ve a couple of questions :
1. My name is Mahmoud and my son name in the passport having middle name as (Mahmmoud) with double “m” . Correcting the name in the passport is very time consuming for me. Is it Ok to issue all my son’s documents with the exact passport name (with double “m”)?
2. The police certificate has 3 months expiry and by the time of the interview it may be expired. Should I get a recent one or not?. As I’ve read on the dv site that police certificate expiry is considered one year .
May 13, 2021 at 02:08
Also, for my son’s name. This means that I’ve to submit DS260 with the name with double “m”.. Right?
May 13, 2021 at 05:30
1. Well yes – but that will become his name in the USA.
2. 12 months.
May 12, 2021 at 03:09
Hi Brit
I have a few concerns.
1. I am from Africa but I currently live and study in China. I used China as my Mailing and current address and my home country as my Birth place.
Where should I case be processed?
2. I have a girlfriend I wish to marry and take along with me during my travel. Is it save to get married to her and include her on the application?
May 12, 2021 at 04:38
1. China.
2. Yes – do it asap.
May 12, 2021 at 04:48
Okay thanks, after talking with some lawyers about this process. It has now been enacted that two foreigners can not get married here in China. Also if I get married to her in her in my home country, I can not also return to China because of the travel restrictions.
What can I do to solve this?
Can we get married in my home country and process the case there also?
May 12, 2021 at 05:01
I’m sure you can think of something.
May 12, 2021 at 03:24
Hi Simon,
I completed the ds 260 however I am residing in the USA on an F1 visa. I think this means I need the AOS rather than ds 260. Can I proceed with the i485 (AOS) if I already submitted the ds 260? Will this impact my chances of getting the green card?
May 12, 2021 at 04:40
No problem – you can switch the method to AOS. The link below is for AOS info.
https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2022-aos-adjustment-of-status-only.344334/
May 12, 2021 at 03:44
Dear Simon,
Some quick questions.
1.
Would you know where (on your website or elsewhere) I could read about situations wherein one of the applicants is a university student (Bachelor’s degree)? In my case, my daughter is. She’s starting her 2nd year this autumn. So I’m just wondering what she’s supposed to do after (hopefully) moving to the States. Do long-distance studying, still as a student of her current university, while living in the USA? Apply to a uni in the States and start from scratch? What’s this process like for Green Card holding students?
2.
Since 2019, my wife has had a steady income as a full-time online freelancer with a constant client flow via Fiverr.com. This means she can do this job from anywhere in the world. So, once in the USA, can this be considered and registered as her official full-time job? Can this be mentioned in her DS-260 as what she intends to do in the USA jobwise?
3.
If I’m the principal applicant migrating with my wife and my daughter,
a) Am I supposed to be the one to land a job in the States?
b) Do all of us in the family have to find employment or just one of us?
c) Can my wife be the breadwinner if I’m the principal applicant?
Best regards.
May 12, 2021 at 04:42
1. She can do whatever she wants. Easiest would be to complete her education in the USA.
2. That’s fine. It’s self employed, not a job, per se.
3.
a. do what you like.
b. do what you like.
c. do what you like.
May 12, 2021 at 07:14
Thanks a lot for your answers. Perhaps, I didn’t make myself fully clear. What I meant was: which of those employment-related points would be valid in the eyes of the State? E.g. Will my wife’s/my self-employment (full-time freelancing) be considered legally sufficient to demonstrate that we can provide for ourselves and live in America? Or should we look for standard employment options instead, when we are in the USA (or even consider them now, prior to completing DS-260)?
May 12, 2021 at 13:53
What Brit meant is that you don’t even have to work (as long as you can support yourself).
May 12, 2021 at 17:20
Once you are here, no one cares what you do – you do what you like. That is also not how your DV case is assessed. You may need to demonstrate financial ability to support yourself, which you can do with personal savings/assets or by getting an I-134 from someone in the USA. You could read the FAQ to understand better.
May 13, 2021 at 07:05
Thank you for clarifying this. As for demonstrating the financial ability to support oneself, yes, I read about it in your FAQ. Can I just ask – if it’s approx. $10,000 per person and, in my case, $30,000 for the entire family – during what period exactly am I supposed to show that evidence? Say, I managed to accumulate the required $30k, how long do I need to keep that amount and avoid spending it? From the moment of providing documentation for DS-260 till the period we (hopefully) enter and settle in the USA? Or is that financial information only checked once? Or is it something that will be regularly checked by the US authorities to make sure it wasn’t just borrowed money for the sake of providing evidence? Does my question make sense?
May 14, 2021 at 00:13
This is all approximate numbers. Generally they might expect to see more or less – it’s their call. They tend to be satisfied with recent bank statements from just before the interview.
May 12, 2021 at 09:05
Hi Brit, I’m DV2022 winner, at the time of the entry my passport was expired so i unknownly applied without passport checking the option of (passport: not applicable because i live in a communist-controlled country and unable to obtain passport from my government), now as i am selected i can renew my passport, i live in Ethiopia, what do you recommend?
May 12, 2021 at 17:25
The new passport rule was only introduced for DV2021 and up to now we have seen VERY few interviews. So – we don’t really know for sure whether Consular officers will deny cases like yours. So – I suggest you wait a couple of months before submitting your DS260 – and by then perhaps we will have more infomation.
May 12, 2021 at 23:37
Thank you Brit, I will keep in touch with you and will wait a couple of months before submitting DS260, and i hope you will update us about this issue for the coming days or so on.
May 12, 2021 at 04:04
Hi! I am a DV2022 lottery winner with case number 2022EU00021XXX. I am currently in the United States with non-immigrant status and said status expires May of 2023. I have already filed my DS-260 and selected to adjust status. I have a couple questions:
1. Do you believe it is a smarter move to adjust status or should I consular process with my case number being in the 21k range?
2. Assuming that I decide that adjustment of status is the way to go, I have been trying to figure out how soon I can file my I-485, according to the visa bulletin, it’ll be current for EU next month (July of 2022), but am I reading that wrong? Is that date current for DV2021 winners, which means that the earliest I could file my I-485 as a DV2022 winner would be approximately next May? I feel like filing an I-485 in May of 2022 when the deadline of adjudication is September of 2022 is very risky…
3. Finally, to Adjust status I am required to attach a “copy of the receipt from DOS for the diversity visa lottery processing fee”. I have already filed my DS-260, but have not paid a fee yet, nor I am seeing how to do that.
I appreciate all of your help immensely!
May 12, 2021 at 04:46
1. Your choice. There are pros and cons of each process. (Link below will help)
2. Yes you are reading that wrong. The VB numbers right now relate to DV2021. Your number won’t be ready for you to file until well into 2022. Forget what you feel like – DV AOS cases go faster than normal AOS.
3. Slow down and read the link below. You can’t rush this process. Learn first.

May 12, 2021 at 05:21
Hello Brit Simon. I am so grateful for help on DV so far.
I am a DV2021 Winner with case number AS17XXX. I have already submitted my documents 3 months ago. Do you think participating in the Curtis Morrison Lawsuit will increase my chance of getting the 2nd letter before September 30, 2021? I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you so much.
May 12, 2021 at 16:53
Being on the lawsuit won’t reduce your chances, and your chances right now are very low – so yeah it makes sense to be on the lawsuit.
May 12, 2021 at 05:27
Hi Brit,
My self and wife applied for 2022 DV program. In my application wife is the dependent. In wife’s application I am the dependent. We have two kids as well. Apparently we both are selected now! My case number AS12xxx and wife’s AS19xxx. I will be applying through work experience and wife has high school. What should I do now? Do we go ahead with submitting DS260 as separate applicants? Please advice
May 12, 2021 at 16:59
No, you would normally choose the case with the best chance of succeeding, and both proceed on that case.
Your case number is lower – so that is what you would normally choose – BUT you must be very sure you can meet the work experience criteria. I hope you read my work experience article (in the FAQ).
May 13, 2021 at 13:02
Thanks Brit. Can you explain the legality of following with both cases? I mean, are we violating any clauses by applying. Should I get the concurrence of KCC
I feel that if anything goes wrong with my profile, there is a back up left. But I cannot entire rely on wife’s case as its too high.
Thanks in Advance for your support
May 14, 2021 at 00:38
No problem filing both.
May 12, 2021 at 06:33
Hi Simon! My mother (51) is the 2022 lottery winner. My brother (9) is going to immigrate with her. My father (56) would like to immigrate too but he has schizophrenia, which is considered disability in Russia, so he is not allowed to work and receives social security for disability. He is not dangerous for others, only for himself. But in the question in the DS260 “Do you have a mental or physical illness that is dangerous to others or yourself?” he should tick “yes”. So
1. Can this affect his medical examination completion or the officer’s decision? Even if my dad passes his medical examination, can he be denied because viewed as a burden to the US as he doesn’t work in his home country or because he is dangerous to himself?
2. If my dad’s green card is denied will it affect my mother’s and my brother’s green card? (My mom is the main applicant). (Also if it puts her and her son’s green cards at risk, they are ready to go through family sponsorship later).
May 12, 2021 at 17:02
1. Yes that can cause denial for him.
2. No.
May 12, 2021 at 06:43
Hi simon,
My case number is AS57XX and i am from Nepal. I am currently in Germany and planning to fill DS260 form from my current address. How my case is handled when KCC schedules my interview here from Germany. Will my case be handled sooner or later compared to my native country?
May 12, 2021 at 17:07
Your case will be scheduled according to the Nepal case numbers on the Visa Bulletin.
May 12, 2021 at 06:45
Hi Simon,
I am a recognized refugee in the country of my residence. I cannot get plenty of documents from the country that I fled from, e.g., police certificate, ID certificate. What am I supposed to do?
May 12, 2021 at 17:08
Follow the official instructions, including the reciprocity page. Document the steps you take so that you can show you tried to obtain documents.
May 12, 2021 at 17:19
There is nothing mentioned in the reciprocity page about refugees. I checked it already. At least I cannot find anything. Would you please give me a link to where I can find more information? May I send you an email personally about this?
May 12, 2021 at 17:22
@Josh
Are you Eritrean citizenship !?
May 13, 2021 at 03:42
I’m saying follow the normal processes.
May 12, 2021 at 07:02
Hi Simon,
My travel document will be expired on Dec. 2021. Should I review it before submitting my DS-260?
May 12, 2021 at 17:10
The answer depends on the case number.
May 12, 2021 at 17:14
Sorry Simon. I meant should I ‘renew’ my travel document? My case number is AS68xx.
May 13, 2021 at 03:41
I would renew it first.
May 12, 2021 at 08:36
Hi Simon,
I have been selected in DV2022 and my case no is AS16XXX. I’m from Sri Lanka and now working in Singapore. I was in home country for vacation and I used the home country mailing address to apply.
I have some questions to ask
1. Can I put Singapore as my interview location in DS-260?
2. Do I get the invitation for interview as my as my case no is AS16xxx?
May 12, 2021 at 17:22
1. Yes
2. Possibly – but it will be next year sometime, not this year.
May 12, 2021 at 08:57
Hi, I was in interview 28 April, approved. Still no visa nor passport. What I should do? Embasy says they do not know. Some error
May 12, 2021 at 17:22
Patience. Others are reporting visa printing delays.
May 12, 2021 at 09:06
Bad news from AA Ethiopia US Embassy
May 12, 2021 at 14:19
What bad news?
May 13, 2021 at 06:30
Hi DV 2021
Can you tell what bad news from AA Ethiopia US Embassy?
May 13, 2021 at 06:33
Please tell what bad news are?
May 12, 2021 at 09:19
Hi Brit Simon,
In my DS260 I listed my host as my aunt in US. She is not working though, but my uncle is working in the US and willing to sponsor me by filling an I-134, they are siblings (both my mothers side) and live in the same apartment together.
When it comes up during the interview, do I explain that my host is my aunt, she doesn’t work, but my uncle is sponsoring me, he has no dependents (they are both single), here is his I-134?
May 13, 2021 at 03:16
It would be better to get your uncle to complete the form.
May 12, 2021 at 10:26
Hi Mr.Simon,
1. My girlfriend won the 2022 DV lottery, can we get married and she includes me in the DS-260 without having any problems?, even though she didn’t add me in the first application.
2. she can’t access the email that she added in the first application, how can we change it to a newer email that we can access easily?
Thank you for your efforts, Bless you
May 13, 2021 at 03:20
1. Yes, as long as the relationship is real and you can show some evidence of that.
2. Change it in the DS260.
May 12, 2021 at 10:29
Hi there! I’m an Italian DV21 winner, case number 24xxx. In Naples interviews are going slowly, but I’ve heard in Paris they reopened and they’re processing quite a lot of cases next month. Do you think it would be a good idea if I ask to KCC to set my interview in Paris? Or should I just be patient and wait? Thanks for your help.
May 13, 2021 at 03:21
The embassies and KCC won’t let selectees move around like that.
May 12, 2021 at 11:31
hi, EU24XXX
I got answer from KCC
Your forms have been received and are currently processing. Allow several weeks for processing. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Once the Kentucky Consular Center has finished processing your DS-260, you will receive an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing.
Is that means something positive or just neutral… I’m looking fore some hope:)
May 13, 2021 at 03:22
It’s a generic email.
May 12, 2021 at 12:42
Hi there Simon. We are about ready to submit our DS260. I just wanted to clarify a couple of things.
1) Interviews don’t start any earlier than October do they? (I am a DV2022 winner so interviewing would start in October 2021 if my information is correct?)
2) My husband’s passport is expiring in early 2022 and we have to go through the process of renewal (sending back to his home country as we are in the UK) and we want to do this as soon as possible. Firstly, I just want to make sure we have ample time to get this done before interviews start and secondly, that means that for the interview he will have a different passport to the one that was provided during application. I don’t see this as being an issue, but just wanted your view. I assume they will send back his old passport in any case.
Thanks again.
May 13, 2021 at 03:26
The earliest appointments will be in October – but the order is by case number, not DS260 submission date.
When you send documents to KCC, or go to the interview, you present the old and new passports.
May 12, 2021 at 12:50
Hi there, this blog has been incredibly helpful!
Regarding the medical, I live in South Australia. On the Official DV Gov website, it only lists eligible Physicians in the following locations throughout Australia: 2 x in Victoria, 2 x in NSW and 1 in Western Australia. I have tried googling eligible practices in SA but have not been successful (perhaps I am getting my terminology wrong?).
At this point, I would usually have given up and accepted that I would have to fly interstate for the medical and then again for the interview. However, I am so sure I have read a comment/blog in the last 5 or so years where someone did attend one in South Australia. Similarly, I have just read a blog where a lady in the Gold Coast had to travel to Brisbane for the medical – the official website does not list any in either of these places . So it is giving me hope that there will be an eligible physician in SA. Do you know of a more direct way/website (anything really) that would help me find a physician closer to home?
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.
May 13, 2021 at 03:33
The embassy maintain a list of panel physicians. That list could change year to year – so just because someone did a medical somewhere else in the past, it does not mean you can use the same one now. The 5 you mention are the only ones.
May 12, 2021 at 13:51
Hey BritSimon, thank you for everything you are doing!
I’m case number EU33k in DV2021 and I’ve submitted my DS-260 in Feb and sent my documents mid-Match as you recommended (even though I didn’t get the email asking me to submit the docs)
I have 2 questions:
1. Which lawsuit would you join if you were in my shoes? I’m willing to do it if it will raise my chances
2. It’s been already 3 months since I submitted my DS-260 and 2 months since I submitted my documents. Do you think it’s normal that I still haven’t gotten any communication (i.e. email asking me to submit my docs or that I’m ready for processing)? I think it’s still fine since I’m a high number, but just wanted to triple check 🙂
May 13, 2021 at 03:34
1. https://curtismorrisonlaw.com/dv2021
2. It’s obviously risky – but many people are having the same experience.
May 12, 2021 at 13:59
Hi Brit,
1. If the embassy asks for a copy of each document and I only provide the original documents, will this cause a problem (other than me losing the originals)? I am asking because some of the documents are from other countries and getting copies of them is a very complicated process.
2. If the main applicant travels to the states on a nonimmigrant visa, stays there for 90 days then files for AOS, can he/she include his/her derivatives (who haven’t followed him/her to the states)?
3. In the lawsuit by Curtis Morrison the form asks for confirmation number. I saw Morrison tweet that my name and case number will be publicized if I sign up for the lawsuit. Is it the same for confirmation number?
Thanks for your invaluable time.
May 13, 2021 at 03:36
1. Photocopies. That’s all – its not hard.
2. There is a process for that, but it adds time at the end – so that represents some risk.
3. No – they are asking for the case number.
May 13, 2021 at 08:50
Thanks for your prompt answer!
Regarding 1, they are asking for certified copies. Can I simply provide photocopies?
May 14, 2021 at 00:17
Read and follow the instructions. Not all documents need to be certified, but procedures vary by embassy so check the embassy instructions.
May 14, 2021 at 01:10
In the embassy page it says I have to obtain certified copies of all documents. There are some documents which I will no longer need after the interview (such as police certificates from other countries). If I only present one copy, will there be any problem other than losing the original certificate? Can it lead to refusal/AP?
May 14, 2021 at 02:01
No
May 12, 2021 at 14:17
Hi Britt,
I submitted Ds260 and sent the documents in Oct,2020.
My no. AS10XXX what should I do now?
Thank you.
May 13, 2021 at 03:37
Ask KCC if they are satisfied with the documents.
May 12, 2021 at 14:31
Hi Simon,
I am a little confused about the second letter.so my parents won DV 2021 and their numbers are Europe 11500 (Georgia), they have submitted ds260 and then submitted documents, they got reply that they are ready for the interview, does this mean that they will get the interview before end of September? or is it just formality? do they have a good chance?
May 13, 2021 at 03:37

Hi Simon! I recently was selected in the DV2022 lottery and promptly found your blog. My case number is OCE (Australia) 56x. Based on previous years for my region, what do you think my chances are and would you be able to give an estimate on the timeline moving forward from here based on my number?
May 13, 2021 at 03:39
Good number that should be ready for interview early 2022, maybe late 2021. However, the embassies are working slowly, so wait and see.
May 12, 2021 at 15:18
Hey BritSimon,
DV2021 here :). Are you supposed to submit a signed DS-1810 as part of the document packet if you are a man between 18 – 25?
May 13, 2021 at 03:39
No
May 12, 2021 at 15:21
Hello brit,
Can i get your email id? I wanted to send you my documents for you to check and let me know if they are all good.
May 13, 2021 at 03:39
No – I don’t have time to do that for everyone.
May 12, 2021 at 15:38
Hi Simon,
I recently just got selected and my case number is 2022AS89xx, I have watched your videos, and I’m starting to understand better. I know that they select 20,000 to 30,000 people for Asia Region, but I’m still wondering if I should apply and when would be the best time for me to do it.
So my question is.
1. Do I have a good chance of getting the visa?
2. I am currently living in Australia and my visa won’t expire until 2023 so I kind of don’t want to go early in 2022. In that case, when should I apply?
Thank you very much for your help.
May 13, 2021 at 03:40
1. There is risk this year, but you have a chance.
2. Early 2022

Hi Brit, 2021EU4k here. I had the interview last week (May 5) but for some reason was asked to provide certificates for each grade of high school I completed (even though I provided the diploma, and I have a master’s degree). Otherwise, I was told my case “looks good”.
I submitted the required documents but I haven’t heard from them since. When I check the status on ceac website, it says “refused” and it freaks me out. Should I reach out to the embassy or should I wait?
Thank you!
May 13, 2021 at 04:29
Refused in this case means AP – you have a chance to fix the problem.
It is not unheard of that a CO asks for HS info, even with higher degrees.
May 12, 2021 at 18:06
Hi Simon
If I asked KCC to change my interview location and they agreed to do so, will they unlock my ds260 form or will they ask me to unlock it myself?
May 12, 2021 at 18:47
Sorry Simon, I did not mean to say that : will KCC ask me to unlock the ds260 myself. .
What I meant was : will KCC unlock my ds260 because I asked to change my interview location ? So that I can write where I intend to have interview.
I’m very concerned about ds260 being unlocked now. I wish I didn’t ask for this
May 13, 2021 at 04:57
You can’t update the embassy in the form – only they can.
May 12, 2021 at 18:29
Hi..I am winner of 2022 DV,
My questions are when is my possible interview time as my native is UAE and CN is AS13xxx and second question is : when i am trying to start filling ds-260 form it is showing : you can’t perform at this time?..
Thanks and wish you long happy and healthy life with your family and beloved people!
May 13, 2021 at 05:00
I won’t try and predict the timeline – although obviously the interview will not be in 2021.
Wait a few days to complete the DS260
May 12, 2021 at 19:28
Hi Simon, my brother’s 2022 case number is in the 11xxx. He’s in Iraq, and is in the process of applying through DS-260. The US Embassy in Baghdad is currently closed (has been closed for almost a year and a half, except for emergency services I believe).
In the DS-260 form online, it states that our interview location is Baghdad-Iraq (I’m not sure if the DS-260 is oblivious to the fact that US Embassy in Baghdad is closed, hence it still states it as our location of interview), but there’s an option there to select a different embassy location if preferred (I think we may need to justify why). So, in your opinion, should we be proactive and select in the DS-260 application to be interviewed at a different embassy location in a nearby country or just leave it as Baghdad for now and ask KCC later to change it? Would very much appreciate your feedback.
May 13, 2021 at 05:11
They will pick the embassy based on his address. THey know which embassies are closed.
May 12, 2021 at 19:59
Hi Brit, hope you are doing well.
I got a reply from KCC on my document status. Does it mean that some documents are still missing ?
“Your DS-260 has been processed. You should have received, or will soon receive, an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing. Please follow the instructions in the email. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. ”
DV2021, EU21xxx
Thanks,
Viktor

Not necessarily. Wait a week or two then ask again.
May 12, 2021 at 20:45
Hi Brit, hope you are doing good.
I just had a dubt, when I filled the entrant (for the dv2021), at the education question i put “some university courses” because i’m doing the university but i have not graduated yet (3 exams left), but in the ds260 there wasn’t the “some university courses” at the higher education question so i put “university non degree”…did i put the right thing or should i ask kcc to unlock it and put just “high school degree”? Thank you for your time and patience
May 13, 2021 at 05:13
Don’t unlock for that. It’s trivial.
May 12, 2021 at 21:27
Hi Simon, hope you’re doing great.
I got selected in DV Lottery for the next year, I can’t be any happier. But I have a problem regarding my DS-260. I finished filling the form but when I try to “Sign and Submit Application” or click on “Next: Confirmation” the buttons don’t seem to work. They’re “grayed out” How can I fix it? Thank you.

Good Day Mr Brit
DV2022
we are a family from Egypt and we are staying in Saudi and we won the DV but our case is AS not AF
Is there any problem regarding our case or it will be rejected for this reason ?
Also kindly inform that we will carry out the interview in Saudi
May 13, 2021 at 05:21
Well it means you claimed to be chargeable to a country in AS, and yes that will mean disqualification. Assuming you have no legitimate reason to charge to an AS country. You were in the wrong lottery. The CO will have to refuse your case – there is no doubt.
May 12, 2021 at 22:10
hi i want to ask about my number AS24*** ist higher thx
May 13, 2021 at 05:21
Yes

Dear Simon,
#DV2022
Is the Case number AS61**(For Nepal) too high ?
What is the chance of getting 2NL with this case number?
May 13, 2021 at 05:21
It’s OK.
May 12, 2021 at 22:58
Hello Simon,
I’m a DV21 winner with case number AF10xxx from Algeria,
1. How do you see my chances of getting an interview?
2. Should I consider the lawsuit of Curtis Morrison ?
Thank you!

Hi Simon,
Thanks so much for all your videos + wisdom – you’ve been a lifesaver through this process.
I was wondering if you have any knowledge if already being a dual citizen causes any issues during the DV2022 (OC4XX) process? I’m an Australian + Italy citizen and just wondering if already being a dual citizen impacts my div lottery visa?
Thanks!
May 13, 2021 at 05:30
No impact

Hi Simon,
Once again I wanted to thank you for all the hard work you are doing!
Pardon me, if the question is slightly silly, but I failed to find the answer myself.
I was able to finally travel to the US to initiate the process of the green card issuance (and had already received SSN’s). I was quite sure that all the necessary biometrics and documents were prepared, collected and handed over the moment I crossed the border, hence I was expecting the card to arrive within 3 to 4 month after.
However, recently I received an ASC Notice for biometrics collection (with the Code 2 – photo, signature and index finger), which I can not attend since I’m outside of the US.
So, the question is – does this mean that I won’t be getting my green card till the moment I return to the US and get a new appointment for the biometrics?
Thank you in advance for your time and consoderation!
Cheers,
Vit

I don’t know. Contact USCIS and discuss with them.
