2021AS5XXX here. Ready for scheduling email received but no 2NL yet. Local embassy operating.
I have lost my vaccination history record card (since birth). I understand I will be asked to (re)take all the US government required vaccines again at the medical examination and that it will take time to get ALL vaccines to be administered.
Q1) Will I still get a medical report to take to the interview even if I have not completed the full list of vaccines required?
Q2) Will my DV be placed as AP until I have all vaccines innoculated?
Q3) If my DV is placed as AP, will the embassy keep my passport until a final decision is made on my DV application?
Q4) What is your advice for me given the short time left in FY2021?
Another question about Green Card Activation entry to US.
Q5) Is there any quarantine requirement for person on a GC visa who has not taken any covid-19 vaccines?
Thanks
June 10, 2021 at 13:58
They will give you required vaccinations at the medical.
5. Not at this time.
June 10, 2021 at 14:04
You could also proactively get the vaccines before medical. (if your GP does that, insurance might cover I guess)
June 10, 2021 at 14:52
I don’t suggest people doing that. The list of vaccines required is long, and the doctors make assumptions of what will have already been administered based on vaccination programs in the country. So – someone being proactive will end up getting unnecessary jabs.
June 10, 2021 at 17:41
As there could be several different vaccines that I could be asked to take, is it possible that not all would be given in one go at the medical because some vaccines should not be mixed?
What would happen if I had not taken the full list of jabs required by the medical examiner by the time I have my interview?
June 11, 2021 at 03:27
Stop overthinking.

Gooddzy Bri,,case number 2021AF7***,i have been scheduled dor interview on June 21st,please i wanted to know if i should make a new certificate of nonconviction to take to the interview or i should take the one i summited to KCC when i eas summiting my documents.because here in my country ,the validity of nonconviction certificate is 3 mouths, and i made the last one in June 2020. June 10, 2021 at 11:42
Reciprocity page will guide you, but take the old one and just do the new one as well. I don’t know how complicated of a process it is, or how expensive.I would just get a new one for sure.
June 10, 2021 at 14:02
Yes
June 10, 2021 at 04:42
Hello Brit,
I am DV2021 winner, I received this email from KCC: ”You have received this email notification to inform you that you have updates available at https://dvprogram.state.gov/ESC. Please log in using your confirmation number from your original application to complete further processing.” I have tried to register the interview appointment online as required but get this notification ”The Immigrant Visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment.” I checked the status of my case and it shows ‘In Transit’.
-Do I need to wait for the status to show ‘Ready’ before I register the appointment date?
-Do I need to register the appointment date before I go for medicals or I can use the appointment letter from the : https://dvprogram.state.gov/ESC site?
Thank you for your time and looking forward to your response.
June 10, 2021 at 14:04
Wait a few days. You have time.
June 10, 2021 at 15:59
Okay! but i am scheduled for the 24th of June, which is this month and I received the email only last night. Should I still wait?
June 11, 2021 at 03:23
I said a few days.
June 10, 2021 at 16:02
Okay! but i am scheduled for the 24th of June, which is this month and I received the email only last night. Am I required to wait for it to be ready before I go for medicals or I can go now given medicals take time to be ready?
June 11, 2021 at 03:23
Book your medical.

Hello Brits,
I am a dv2022 selectee with CN 2022DV12×××.
I have already filled and submitted the Ds-260 form.
I mistakenly filled the educational background section with only my tertiary(university) education.
I sent a mail to Kcc to unlock my account and for over 3weeks, no feedback.
1. Do i still have to send another mail?
2. How soon will they request my supporting docs?
3. How soon can i send my doc if they don’t request?
4. How soon can i be arranged for an interview?
5. Did i fill the ds-260(in may) too early?
Thank you for your Support
June 13, 2021 at 15:20
Your case number is meaningless without region.
June 15, 2021 at 00:08
Please My case number is 2022AF00012×××
June 10, 2021 at 05:32
Hello Brit,
My case number is 2022EU2XXXX. My question is I have left out my youtube and google accounts in my social media accounts in DS-260. Does this make my form and case not valid?
June 10, 2021 at 14:09
No
June 12, 2021 at 16:00
Well does it matter in processing? Will it matter in interview or 2nd letter?
June 13, 2021 at 14:58
Still no.
June 10, 2021 at 08:25
Hello Mr Simon. On the saveDiversityVisa page, statistics by embassies, US Embassy in Freetown (Sierra Leone) None of those who passed their interview were Issued (they were all refused Visa). Can you know the cause of their not obtaining the visa.

Freetown AP : 0
Issued: 0
Ready 13
Refused: 14
Total: 27
June 10, 2021 at 14:12

June 10, 2021 at 08:39
Hi Simon,
I am Curtis Morrison plaintiff. Do I need to send my documents like what i sent to KCC?
Thanks for your help!
June 10, 2021 at 14:12
Not to Curtis.
June 10, 2021 at 09:30
Hi Simon, Please confirm that the principal applicant’s DV1 visa is the only visa counted among the 55k total visas and NOT the DV2 and DV3 for spouse and kids?
June 10, 2021 at 14:14
No. A family of 4 means 4 from 55K.
June 12, 2021 at 23:42
Hello Brit,
My Wife won the 2022 dv lottery through an agency. They told her she won and snap shot some details for her. They would be asking for a lot of money to process it when it’s time but we want to avoid that by doing it ourselves but We don’t know the confirmation number and the email address they used to register her.
Is there a way to retrieve the confirmation number without the email address?
Thank you
June 13, 2021 at 15:12
No
I wish people would stop falling for this scam of using unscrupulous agents.
June 10, 2021 at 10:08

I don’t know the education requirement for each country, as it can change.
June 10, 2021 at 17:24
Hi Simon,
Please should i proceed …Kindly advise
Thank you.
June 11, 2021 at 03:25
Re-read my answer.
June 10, 2021 at 10:40
Hey Simon,
My case number is 2021(region)00000xxx. I have x5 “0’s” in my case number. When I submitted my DS260 it didn’t allow me at the end to type the exact number, I read somewhere I had to eliminate all the “0” and keep it to region and xxx, which I did and it submitted fine.
Therefore my question now with documents, am I keeping all the “0’s” when I name my documents to send via email or do I eliminate the “0’s” and keep it looking like 2021(region)xxx
Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you for your time!
June 10, 2021 at 11:39
Hello Kat,
Theoretically KCC should accept both but it is recommended to use the zeros.
Hope that helps.
June 10, 2021 at 12:47
Ok, I’ll keep to using all zeros. I wasn’t sure what to do as my application confirmation didn’t have the zeros so was wondering if I had to keep consistently on that. Thanks for answering.

Hi Brit Simon.
How are You doing? I hope You did well.
I am dv2022 winner case no 2022AF211**. I fills & Summitted Ds 260. When I fills the form I made Some mistakes and then I request KCC to Unlock Ds260. But, when I wrote an email to unlock it. 1st I have Wrote my last name ( Grand Father name) comma, and then my last name. But when I have seen your video and KCC instruction it instruct that to write 1st name, medial name and last name.
to explain more:
Besetegn, Teshome Geremew ( I did it)
Teshome Geremew Besetegn.( that I have seen in Your video.)
Simon, what You advise me? Should I Write email to KCC again?
Thank You So much for Your time
June 10, 2021 at 14:21
They will see the comma.
June 10, 2021 at 12:13
I don’t really understand this: In the Jacob case, the court has directed plaintiffs to file a motion for class certification.
1- If they do will that be automatically granted? considering the fact that it is the court itself who has asked them to do so.
2- Assuming it is granted, will that mean that all 55k visas will be preserved?
June 10, 2021 at 14:23
1. No
2. Not necessarily.
June 10, 2021 at 14:31
How is it a good news then?
June 10, 2021 at 14:49
I think Curtis “oversold” that, to remove the sting of losing the other part of the case.
June 10, 2021 at 12:38
Hello Brit!
My interview in on Wednesday in Paris. My husband, who is french, is the principle applicant. I am an Indian citizen living in France since 1.5yrs. When we sent docs to KCC, i only sent police certificate for France asthats what i understood. They accepted it without any issues. Now preparing for the interview, i saw on the embassy website that i need police certificate for India as well!!! Is it true? or i can get by the fact that KCC accepted my docs? It takes 10 days to get the police certificate and i am super nervous!!I am going to apply for it, but it won’t come on time. What else can i do to convince the visa consular that it was a mistake? ANy other document that i can take in its place?
Thanks!!!
June 10, 2021 at 14:24
You should read the instructions and obtain the missing police certs.
June 10, 2021 at 14:38
I will suggest you apply for it as soon as possible then take a proof of it (receipt or anytime similar)to the interview. If you are lucky you will be put on AP until you provide it. Good luck and God be with you!
June 10, 2021 at 18:45
Thank you so much for your reply! I will take the receipt and pray that it works…
June 10, 2021 at 12:45
Hi BritSimon
I noticed on “submit supporting documents page” on travel.state.gov the following point:
“The certificate must contain the:
Person’s date of birth;
Person’s place of birth;
Names of both parents; and,
Annotation by the appropriate authority indicating that it is an extract from the official records.”
On my birth certificate, I only have my mothers name and “Unknown” in my fathers name. Is this ok? If not, how can I fix this?
June 10, 2021 at 14:33
No problem. The point is that you are using the correct type of birth cert (called the “long form” version) which has space for both parents. It is not required to have both parents registered at birth however.
June 10, 2021 at 23:10
I live un Cuba and here there isn’t a “long format” certificate, its just one page with my datas and my parents and grandparents, etc. May that be an issue?
June 11, 2021 at 03:34
Long form means it has space for BOTH parents. That’s all.
June 11, 2021 at 07:29
Great. Thank you for your prompt answer.
June 10, 2021 at 13:10
Hi Brit
I submitted my DS260 and also joined the lawsuit as well but im having diffiiculty with sending through my surpporting documents. One of the documents in particular which is the police clearance certificate. i have submitted my application for the clearance certificate but processing times in South Africa are extremely delayed and therefore delaying the process for me. Are there other options or suggestions in terms of submitting documents as this is causing a delay? Can i submit a police affidavit and present the certificate at the interview instead? I do not have any criminal history.
June 10, 2021 at 14:35
All you can do is submit now with proof that you have applied for the missing police cert.
June 11, 2021 at 06:45
@hajra804 – when did you apply for your police clearance? Also from SA and trying to figure out how early to apply for my clearance so I get it in time and also so it doesn’t expire before interview.
June 11, 2021 at 21:34
Told by the police offer that processing times are 2-3months and the certificate expires in 3 months
June 13, 2021 at 14:15
@Hajara Police certificates may be considered expired by the issuing country but they are acceptable for US immigration purposes up to one year old.
June 12, 2021 at 20:56
l am in SA l won the DV2022 and l have applied for my police certificate last week because it take 6 to 8 weeks or even longer in SA; my case number is AF6XXX its better to be safe.
June 13, 2021 at 15:06
Yes that is a low number, so you were wise to apply for the police cert.
June 10, 2021 at 13:12
Dear Sir Simon,
Warmest greeting from Phnom Penh, Cambodia!
I am a DV2021 selectee with CN: 2021AS29K. Since I registered for DS-260 on July, 2020 untill now, I don’t receive the email information from the KCC to submit the require supporting documents for my DV-2021 yet. So at this time I would like to ask you a question: When should I send email to [email protected]
to submit required supporting documents by myself or waiting email from KCC first?
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your time with regards.
Sincerely yours,
Mr. HOK
June 10, 2021 at 14:36
You should already have sent the documents. Do it now.
June 11, 2021 at 05:05
Thank you so much for your reply. I will do it.
Kind regards,
June 10, 2021 at 14:42
Hi simon thanks for the efforts
Im a dv 2021 winner my cn is 8k from Morocco but still didn’t get interviewed although in june we went up to 9k who got their 2nl and in July we reached 13k and i still dont know why i didnt receive my 2nl, i completed my ds260 in june last years then i submitted my documents as well but the only issue is that i received my confirmation very late, on mid mars wich i consider very late because all the numbers bellow 16k got their confirmation befor me, and only in 1st of May i got a message from kcc says that my case is transformed to my embassy. And still missed my chance of getting my 2nl twice, because they are taking so much to process my case.
Im a #goodluckvbiden Plaintiff in the curtis morrison lawsuit
Do you think Curtis can do something about my case, and ask kcc to process my case a bit faster and send me my 2nl??
June 10, 2021 at 14:47
You will have to wait and see. I can’t predict the outcome.
June 10, 2021 at 17:34
No im not asking about the outcome of the lawsuit, im sayin if i told curtice righ now about my situation and how my case is ready for an interview and and kcc keeps ignoring my case, can curtis and his team force kcc to send me my 2nl, without waiting for the outcome of the lawsuit
June 11, 2021 at 03:27
Same answer.
June 10, 2021 at 15:33
Dear BritSimon
Is it (really) obligatory to bring I-134 filled form to the interview, or is (just) highly recommendable?
Since it is not listed in the “Pre-Interview checklist” as a necessary document to submit to the CO..
June 11, 2021 at 03:22
It varies by case. But if they ask for it and you don’t have it you will then be delayed while you get it.
June 10, 2021 at 16:05
Hi mate! . With regards to the birth certificate . The type I have has the information; fathers name ..mothers name etc all hand written in black ink. Is this good enough or I have to request for another one where the information is typed and printed. Thanks.
June 11, 2021 at 03:24
Whatever is standard in your country.
June 11, 2021 at 06:39
I have the same “issue” My birth country only issues hand written birth certificates with all the required information. I wonder if getting the document Apostilled is not maybe the way to go. Just in case.
June 11, 2021 at 14:39
Why are you assuming that is a problem?
June 12, 2021 at 06:25
The Embassy in SA requires a printed version for South Africans. Have not been able to confirm if it is the same for Namibian birth certificates and guess I just don’t want to hurt my chances if I am lucky enough to get an interview next year. Have an appointment at the Namibian Consulate next month to see what our options are. Feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity and would hate to be denied because I didn’t have the correct certificate. I have not been able to locate a single Namibian that have won, to ask if the hand written one was accepted at the interview.
June 13, 2021 at 14:25
Overthinking.
June 10, 2021 at 17:32
DEAR BRIT SIMON:
I ENROLLED IN THE SWEEPSTAKES AS A MARRIED, PLANNING TO MARRY, BUT I HAD NOT MARRIED YET, AFTER WINNING I MARRIED MY WIFE, BEFORE THE PROCESS WE HAVE BEEN RELATED FOR 5 YEARS, BUT WE HAVE NO CHILDREN, WE ARE RESPECTIVE 26 AND 24 YEARS OLD MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE IS RETROACTIVE IN NATURE, THAT IS, THANKS TO THE LAWS OF OUR COUNTRY WE ALLOW US TO RETURN THE DATE OF THE DAY OF CONSOLIDATION OF OUR MARRIAGE TO A DATE PRIOR TO THE INCRIPTION OF THE DRAW. RIGHT NOW I ONLY HAVE 20 DAYS LEFT FOR MY INTERVIEW AND I NEED YOUR HELP.
WILL I HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS FROM ALL OF THIS?
WHAT CAN I DO IN CASE I HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS?
WILL THE FACT OF MY ENROLLMENT AS MARRIED FOR HAVING PLANS TO DO SO AT A LATER, WILL MANDATORY CAUSE MY DISQUALIFICATION?
June 10, 2021 at 17:48
(…)WE ARE RESPECTIVE 26 AND 24 YEARS OLD MARRIAGE , CERTIFICATE IS RETROACTIVE IN NATURE, (…) CORRECTING
June 10, 2021 at 17:57
(…)WE ARE RESPECTIVE 26 AND 24 YEARS OLD , MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE IS RETROACTIVE IN(…) SORRY I TRIED TO CORRECT WHAT WAS WRONG AND I PUT IT WRONG AGAIN, SORRY.
June 11, 2021 at 03:26
I don’t know whether that will be a problem or not.
June 10, 2021 at 19:03
Good evening. I have to do my interview this July. my sponsor must come to Africa for 4 months (he comes on June 21).
1) Because he is in Africa during my interview, does he lose the right to support me (sponsor) ?. .
2)His Payslips that he has to send, he gets paid per week, he has to send for how many weeks?
June 11, 2021 at 03:28
1. No, as long as he is a US resident/taxpayer.
June 10, 2021 at 19:26
Dear Brit Simon,
My wife has been selected selected for 2022. We are not ready to move countries just yet and would like to wait as much as possible but obviously would never want to risk our chances. Also taking into consideration that Covid could still affect this year. When would be the latest you would wait to apply that would still have strong chances to get the Green Card? But at the same time would give us long enough before we have to move to USA.
Her case number for 2022 is in the range 750-1000 for Oceania
Thanks a lot
June 11, 2021 at 03:29
You can delay submission until about March/April.
June 10, 2021 at 21:41
Dear Simon
If any one has an experience on this
I submitted my DS 260 before 3 weeks back
I wrote in education only my master degree , and bachelor degree
Should I wrote my high school too
And if I did not should I send to KCC to unlock my file to write my high school data then re submit my DS 260 again
Or no necessary as my bachelor and master mean that already I passed high school
Please advice from expert people and who has a confirmed information?
Thanks
June 11, 2021 at 03:31
You were supposed to detail education from around age 12. If you are DV2022, unlock and correct. Read the FAQ
June 11, 2021 at 08:19
Hi Mr. Simon,
why is this I am a DV 22 winner and I just wrote about my bachelor degree of course if I have bachelor that means I have completed my High school. is this a reason for denial ? or is it ok ? should I send them unlock request?
Thank you for all your time and efforts.
June 11, 2021 at 14:43
I don’t understand why people think they can pick and choose how much information they feel like revealing. The education section asks for history. Why do you think that doesn’t apply to you?
June 10, 2021 at 22:15
Dear Simon,
Is there any way to retrieve the information that was submitted for the DS entry (the information used to apply for DV program)?
June 11, 2021 at 03:32
No
June 10, 2021 at 22:32
Hello Mr. Simon first thank you so much for what you do, it’s really helpfull. I’m a dv2022 winner, my case number is SA*****6**, I recently married my wife on May 27th and I was wondering, I haven’t send my ds-260, how do I add her? Do I need a ds for her too or just fill the spouse page and that’s It? Thanks on advance
June 11, 2021 at 03:33
If she wants to live with you, you use the “add applicant” feature in the CEAC system.
June 10, 2021 at 23:07
Hi Simon,
My husband is my derivative. Just noticed that his police certificate missed out his middle name. Do you think they would accept it like that? Thanks. Gonzales
June 11, 2021 at 03:33
No problem.
June 11, 2021 at 11:30
Much respect to you Brit! Quite honestly, both Charles Kuck and Morrison needs to thank you for sharing your advise on the lawsuit. It helped move me to join the Goodluck and I am sure I was not the only follower to so. Thanks again
June 11, 2021 at 14:47
Thanks for the kind words.
June 10, 2021 at 23:48
Hello Simon,
I’m DV Winner With CN 2021 AF18k, also am joined Curtis Morrison lawsuit. And also get ” Congratulations! Our records indicate that your case is ready to be scheduled” on 24 may 2021.My interview location US embassy Khartoum, Sudan. The embassy is still closed even they didn’t scheduled for single case.
1.Does it have any problem ask KCC to schedule you for interview?
2.How will the lawsuit help for DV 2021 case?
3.Do I have enough time to change my interview location(to Kenya)? Or wait patience in my interview location?
4.Do you hear from anyone scheduled for interview in US Embassy Khartoum,Sudan.
June 11, 2021 at 03:35
1. No
2. We will see.
3. Speak to the lawyers.
4. No
June 11, 2021 at 04:36
Hi britsimon,
Am Dv2021AF 9k, I received my 2nl on June 2nd with appointment date July 9, Kenya.
I have few questions.
In the 1NL, my interview post, is Nairobi while in ds- 260, interview post Khartoum.
Now 2nl interview post is Nairobi Kenya, yet I didn’t request for changing interview post.
1. Will this create a problem during my interview?
2. If I don’t register online appointments, what is the risk of not registering? Becoz I have 2nl with me already
Thanks
June 11, 2021 at 14:35
1. No
2. Register with the online system, you don’t need a date, but you still need to register on their system for updates etc.
June 11, 2021 at 05:42
Hi Brit,
So my case number is DV2021AF57xxx. I submitted my ds 260 in June 2020 and haven’t received a response from KCC yet. I checked my status on the CEAC website and it says “AT NVC”. Does it mean my case has not been processed yet or it’s something else? Thank you!
June 11, 2021 at 14:37
At NVC means nothing. YOu can read the FAQ about that.
Have you sent documents? Have they sent you confirmation the documents have been processed? Are you a plaintiff on a lawsuit?
June 11, 2021 at 15:16
No i haven’t sent my documents yet. I thought KCC was supposed to send an email requesting for my documents before I send them.
And No, I am not a plaintiff on a lawsuit (well as far as I am concerned I’m not involved in any lawsuit/court case).
So with the documents, do I have to send them or do I have to wait for them to request for it after my ds260 has been processed?
June 11, 2021 at 15:25
You should have already sent the documents. I have been telling people to send them for 6 months. Your case is at significant risk, and without having sent the documents, being a high case number AND not a plaintiff you have almost no chance at all to be interviewed. But if you want to send documents now, that might improve your chances a little, but you would still not be likely to get an interview. Sorry to be so blunt, but there is no point dressing it up.
June 11, 2021 at 15:30
I just chanced upon your Youtube channel and blog yesterday. If I had known earlier I would have sent the documents. But I am still going to send them anyway.
So this is my situation:
At the time I filled the ds 260, I was in Ghana. I moved to the US in December 2020 on an F1 visa and I’m still in the US.
What documents do I have to send and how do I send them?
Thank you!
June 11, 2021 at 15:46
Look, let me be frank. You are not going to get your greencard through the consular processing route. Sending documents at this point is completely pointless. It takes a zero percent chance to a 0.000001% chance that would ONLY happen if the lawsuits achieve a massive win protecting all visas for all selectees, plaintiffs and non plaintiffs.
However, you can switch immediately to Adjustment of Status, and if you do that you would have a very high chance of getting your greencard, almost certain. There is time if you immediately take the time to understand the process and take immediate action.
The link below is your best resource for DV related AOS. On the first post in that thread Sm1smom has compiled a spreadsheet that details exactly what you need to do to file AOS. Don’t ask her (Sm1smom) questions until you have studied the spreadsheet, looked at the I-485 and so on.

if you ar in the US on a valid visa why don’t you apply for an AOS?
June 11, 2021 at 15:57
Okay great! I will take time to read about the process and apply for it
Thank you!
June 11, 2021 at 06:29
Dear Simon,
I’m a DV2021 selectee, also a Goh plaintiff currently in the US. After talking to a lawyer, I think that I may apply for AoS at the end of July after and depending on what the final decision in Goh would be. Regardless of Goh, I will need to wait until at least mid July if I decide to apply for AoS.
In your opinion, is it worth waiting for the Goh decision at the end of July, or should I go ahead and apply for AoS in mid July regardless?
June 11, 2021 at 14:39
The answer depends on where your case would be scheduled. But, you can decide that in early July, and be ready to file ASAP.
June 11, 2021 at 07:16
Hello, Simon!
What should I do once I have sent my documents but they are incorrectly filled in?
I was deliberately misled by a person. I sent correctly completed documents again.
June 11, 2021 at 14:41
So you already sent new documents? Why are you asking me then?
June 15, 2021 at 04:40
Hello again!
I’m asking you to know if I need to send a new email with a description of the error and which data email is correct?
Regards

Dear Simon,
My little Brother won DV-2022 by applying with out passport and he obtained his passport after the entry process. will it be the problem for further process.
June 11, 2021 at 14:44
Probably.
June 11, 2021 at 15:39
Thank-you Simon,
will it be during justification of why he used the exceptions for entry with out passport or other process before the interview.
kindly!
June 11, 2021 at 15:51
What was the justification?
June 11, 2021 at 16:07
i mean he used the options to apply with out passport wile he do not satisfy the conditions for those options, will he have a hope to get a visa.
June 11, 2021 at 09:20
Hi Simon,
I created few years a fake email adress using a imaginary name, and use it when I do not want my real name to be visible
1. It is a reson for visa denial if I mention it in my DS260 form as used social media id’s.
2. it is ilegal to use makeup name for an email in US?
Thank you!
June 11, 2021 at 14:45
So how do I know this is the real you asking the question?
1. No
2. No
June 11, 2021 at 10:29
Hello simon,
Im dv 2021 selectee from asia region with CN 2021AS00026***. Im goodluckVsBiden plaintiff. I wanted to ask if i apply for f1 visa and by the time of august im in USA.
1)Can i apply for AOS?
2)Is it possible to get AOS done before the end of fiscal year?
3)And what about if the fiscal year ends and my AOS is not completed?
June 11, 2021 at 14:46
You should direct these questions to your lawyer.
June 11, 2021 at 11:24
Hi simon, I have submitted my DS-260.
However I have tried to access to the DS260 website again, just to see how it works, and it says that my case number is not valid. Is it normal? Is the DS260 page not available anymore once you submit the DS260?
June 11, 2021 at 15:01
No, that is not how it works. You probably made a mistake.
June 11, 2021 at 14:10
Hi Brit! Juts wanted to let you knwo that today KCC sent alot of DQ ready for scheduling email. I am 18k Eu, plaintiff in Jacob and got mine. I also know cases of 22k EU. But mainly named plaintiffs in lawsuits.
June 11, 2021 at 14:22
Yeah I saw your note on Twitter. Jacob and Goh starting to have impact. Good news for plaintiffs.
June 11, 2021 at 14:55
Link to the tweet pls?
June 11, 2021 at 15:10
She says the same thing there as here.
June 11, 2021 at 14:22
Hi American Dreamer, is your interview for July or August? can you please tell
June 11, 2021 at 15:14
This is not the 2NL – it’s “ready for scheduling”.
June 11, 2021 at 15:16
When did you receive an email from the KCC to send documents required? Or is it that email?
June 11, 2021 at 18:28
i receved the email beginning if oct, sent docs late oct. The other fellows that received today the email (that i know) sent thier docs sept oct, cases range between 10-22k, they are mostly named plaintiffs.
June 11, 2021 at 14:27
Hello Brit, greetings from Ghana
I am 2021Dv selectee with case#2021AF18k, after a long hustle with Kcc to qualify my docs today I received an email with the subject “2021AF18xxx DOCUMENTS RECEIVED” with the content
Congratulations! Our records indicate that your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current and appointments are available. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on region and which case numbers have already been processed.
Q1. Please does this mean I am docmentarily qualified?
Q2. If Q1 is Yes, Then does it mean I will be scheduled for interview soon since my case number has been current about 3months ago?
June 11, 2021 at 15:13
1. Yes
2. No, it does not mean that as a certainty. There are more people ready for scheduling than can be scheduled, and Ghana embassy is yet to accept even a single interview, so there are certainly no guarantees. Did you sign up for a lawsuit?
June 11, 2021 at 15:26
Yes I did, I am with GoodluckvBiden
June 11, 2021 at 15:51
Good.
June 11, 2021 at 21:00
Kindly let me know when did you send your documents, and when did you receive the confirmation?
June 11, 2021 at 14:43
Hello Brit and thank you for all your efforts and the work you do.
Indeed I have two questions:
1) when submitting my ds-260 I just mentioned my last bachelor degree knowing that I have two and I also failed to add that I have the high school certificate.
2) When I applied for the dv, I didn’t have a child yet but in the meantime my wife gave birth and I added my son on the ds-26 but the problem is that he is a newborn, he didn’t have a passport yet (instead of a travel document, I put another document) but in the meantime I filed a passport for him which hasn’t come yet.
Do you think that this could disqualify me knowing that everything else is in order?
Thank you Brit
June 11, 2021 at 15:11
No.
If you are DV2022, correct the omission in point 1.
June 11, 2021 at 15:40
Hi Simon,
– my case number – 2021EU00020xxx
I received today following email from the KCC to send the documents required:
Congratulations on your selection for the 2021 Diversity Visa program!
Please read this email and carefully follow the instructions listed in order to have your application processed as quickly as possible.
(…)
I sent the documents without them asking for , 3 months ago. So I will send it again.
My questions:
1.) How old can be a police certificate be? Mine is 3 months.
2.) I am also plaintiff (GoodLuck) at the Curtis‘ lawsuit. Do you think there is a connection to the today‘s email?
3.) I will send the documents again tonight – how long does it usually take for them to check? Is the next step the scheduling email?
Best,
Martin
June 11, 2021 at 15:50
1. Up to one year is accepted.
2. No, the Judge hasn’t had even the first hearing, so the government (KCC) have not been given the list of plaintiffs yet.
3. I actually think you got this letter because you sent the documents. Send them again if you want, but do take the time to check them carefully.Time varies, the next step would be “ready for scheduling” email
June 14, 2021 at 14:01
Simon,
would you contact the KCC stating that I am one of the plaintiffs at the Goodluck lawsuit or isn’t that a productive idea?
I sent the documents requested by the KCC again, what else can I do? I am very open to any productive idea.
All the best and I really appreciate your advice,
Mark
June 15, 2021 at 06:15
They don’t have the Goodluck list yet, so at this point it would have no meaning.
June 11, 2021 at 16:24
Hi Mark,
May I ask you when you submitted your DS260?
I am still waiting for this. My number is higher though.
Would love to hear from you.
Hope it works out for you. Good luck!
June 11, 2021 at 16:40
Hi Brit,
Hope you are doing well. A DS-260 question: For previous education, besides university degrees, we should list all the high schools that we attended right? I did my first year of high school in a different school than the one that I finished my second and third years and I got my diploma (secondary education degree) from the latter one. Should I just enter the name of the first high school and as for the degree box I put “finished the first year of high school”? I’m asking since this one is a little bit different than DS-160 that I filled couple of years ago and it is “degree based”. So I’m not sure whether we have to list all the high schools we attended or just the one that we got our diploma from (Diploma that I sent to USCIS for AOS is for the second high school).
Thank you so much for your help.
June 13, 2021 at 13:59
List all education attended from secondary level and up (usually above age 12).
June 11, 2021 at 17:56
#DV 2021 Simon, today it seems there is good development coming from judge Chen. He intends to give class resolution based GOMez equations. What is your opinion?
June 13, 2021 at 14:04
I’ll wait and see what he does rather than speculating.
June 11, 2021 at 18:13
Hello Simon. I have a question about the address Page of the ds-260. In my country the address is different, for example: Apple Street, Between Pine street and Peach Street, number 28 Reeves neighborhood. So I don’t know how to fill in the ds. Thank you on advance
June 11, 2021 at 22:24
And also, i am currently living with my wife at her House, but I have other address on my ID. So wich one should I put as my current address on the ds-260?
June 13, 2021 at 14:15
The one you are actually living at.
June 13, 2021 at 14:06
Use your own judgement.
June 11, 2021 at 18:54
Hi Simon.
Following your response, can I maybe send you an email as there is some confidential information I wouldn’t like to share publicly?
I’m currently in CA and need some advice.
June 13, 2021 at 14:10
Only if it is actually necessary to be private.
britsimon3 at gmail.
June 11, 2021 at 19:08
2022AS00017XXX is this good number for early interview?
June 13, 2021 at 14:11
No. It’s not a low number, but it is too soon to know how high it is.
June 11, 2021 at 19:28
Or maybe Telegram/Facebook whatever suits you better.
June 11, 2021 at 19:39
Hi Brit<
So I was selected for the DV lottery for 2022 and my case number is around AF38k, but I just returned from the US last year on a J-1 visa. That J1 visa subjects me to a two-year home-country physical presence requirement(212(e). In essence I have to be in my home country for at least two years before I can apply for the green card or any other immigrant visa. By June 2022, I would've been in my home country Ghana for 2 years. How do you advise I proceed? Should I fill out the DS260 and indicate that I am still within the 2 year period (I just realized I am obligate to respond to that in the DS260) or I should fill the DS260 and wait until June 2022 to submit it? Will KCC ask me to proceed with the process if I am not eligible to be issued a visa until after June 2022? Kindly advise.
June 13, 2021 at 14:13
Don’t wait until June 2022 to submit. Plan to get an interview in June or July 2022. So, submit the DS260 around March or April.
July 15, 2021 at 14:36
Thanks for the feedback Brit. Much appreciated. Given the slow pace of response of KCC for DV2021 and the fact that they are not working with case numbers in the scheduling of interviews anymore, I am wondering if I should even submit the DS260 in December 2021 instead and delay in sending the documents, once KCC requests for it. Atleast then I will be in the process of getting a 2NL.
Also wondering, can KCC declare someone documentarily unqualified? Have you seen any case like that in your experience?
July 16, 2021 at 03:35
1. Yes you can do that, but understand that this year (DV2021) is showing a significant advantage to people that sent documents early.
2. No such thing. There is qualified, or not qualified yet (not submitted sufficient documents).
June 11, 2021 at 22:17
Dear Simon,
Does the ‘exact’ dates of graduation and start of schools matters in DS 260?
June 13, 2021 at 14:15
No
June 11, 2021 at 22:26
Hello Brit
My name is James. I do have a question to ask that has been troubling me for weeks now
At the time of my Dv application in October, I had a 2yr diploma from my university and I had this question on the Dv application form
What is your highest level of qualification as of today
I clicked university degree by error as I wanted to click some university courses. The results came out and I won. I had to continue university for another two years and I’ll graduate this August with an advanced diploma. Now here is my question
1. Would I be denied a visa for clicking a university degree instead of some university courses since I was still in the university although I obtained a diploma at that time?
2. I am waiting on the school to issue my advanced diploma and I plan on putting the advanced diploma as my highest level of qualification on the ds 260 because I have and I can proof it. Is that the right thing to do?
3. Would I be asked about the mistake I did on the Dv application which was selecting a university degree instead of some university courses.
Please advice.
Thank you
June 13, 2021 at 14:17
1. No
2. Yes
3. No
June 11, 2021 at 23:35
Dear Simon,
Do we need to submit both the renewed and old passports when we are asked to submit our documents to KCC? Or only upload the recent one and carry the old one on the interview date?
June 12, 2021 at 09:59
I’m 2021eu18k, and also a Goh plaintiff based in Warsaw. I was asked for documents on March and sent them. Still waiting for the ready for scheduling email. I triple checked all the documents and emailed KCC asking for confirmation, but I’m only getting generic responses. I see reports that some plaintiffs in my CN range already have their docs processed. Should I be worried? Should I consider resending the documents at this point?
June 13, 2021 at 14:29
There is no “correct” way to act, because KCC has created a mess. So – do what you think gives you the best chance of getting KCC to act. Having said that, I think you will find that the GOH lawsuit starts to unblock things for you pretty quickly – and one thing you could do is email KCC, stating you are a GOH plaintiff (which they can confirm on their list) and ask them if they need new documents.
June 12, 2021 at 10:32
Hello Bartek,
Patience. Goh will move fast soon. I think government is just waiting for their motion to dismiss be denied.
Interesting piece of info, I was watching Jacob zoom hearing and the AUSA explained the high case from Africa (80k) was processed in October because they sent their documents in September.
Curtis was mad about it but judge was cool and said it was not part of the case. I think Curtis will use that in other cases. Also, it looks like the judge will certify class action but the named plaintiffs (of other DV2021 cases) will not be part of the class. I think that is good news.
I was also impressed by Mr. Barre 🙂
Take care!
June 13, 2021 at 14:35
Curtis was incorrect to say there is a rule about waiting for an invitation to send documents (there is no such rule), and frankly it was a foolish way to try to argue the point. Imagine the process if your ability to push your own case was based on the whim of KCC sending you the documents request email. That would be a disaster, so why on earth should anyone try to assert that is/was the rule? KCC is really screwing up the document processing and they need to fix that, but let’s not pretend there are rules that actually don’t exist.
Hopefully they will hone their tactics going forward.
June 13, 2021 at 14:17
Both for KCC and both at the interview.
June 12, 2021 at 03:14
Hello Dear Mr. Simon
I have a question about sending required documents email to KCC
For marriage certificate should I send two scanned file with naming of mine and my wife or just with naming of mine is enough?
June 13, 2021 at 14:18
One is enough.
