Hi Simon, Thanks for your help so far. our CN 2022AF15XXX. We submitted in the DS260 around 10th May and asked KCC afterwards to change our interview location from UAE to Kenya as you advised. We have today received below response. I just need to clarify the statement about unlocking DS260, do they mean we have to unlock DS 260 to change our address now? or do they mean we do that once interview is scheduled?..its confusing so clarifying to avoid delays. Thanks
********
”Thank you for your inquiry.
Based on the information you have provided, your interview location has been changed from Abu Dhavi to Nairobi. The new interview location will not appear on your DS-260, but will be used by KCC for scheduling purposes. When we have scheduled your interview, you will be required to log into the Entrant Status Check (ESC) to view your appointment notification. At that time, please verify that your appointment is scheduled for the correct post. If for any reason it is not, you may contact KCC again at [email protected]. You will also need to request that KCC unlock your DS-260, so that you can update your application with your new address. (Please note that Post Office Boxes and mailing addresses in care of another person do not justify a change of interview location.)
In order for the Kentucky Consular Center to assist with inquiries regarding a specific Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant’s full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center does not have the authority to tell you whether or not your specific case will be disqualified. Only a consular officer can do that at the time of your visa interview. Do not send any paper documents to the Kentucky Consular Center.

Change the address now.
June 14, 2021 at 13:31
Dear Brit,
The CEAC status has not changed from In Transit to “Ready” even after 14 days of receiving 2NL. Is that a problem or can I ignore that?
June 15, 2021 at 05:40
It is no problem.

Hello, my name is Milan.
I cant do know how to ask a question so i just reply on your comment.
Iam 16 years old and i live in the netherlands i went to school for 12 years and i want to apply at dv lottery but will i be rejected because i am to young?
I hope hearing from you ASAP
June 15, 2021 at 15:36
Hi Milan,
You can apply but think about your elibility. You need to show your high school diploma, which is the level of education that precedes university.
The next round starts in October and selection will be in May 2022 and issuance of the visas will start in October 2022 and finish in September 2023.
If you think by then you will have your education, you can apply. The odds in EU are about one in one hundred years 🙂
June 16, 2021 at 04:21
You can apply in October – the timeline is long so you have time to finish your education.

June 16, 2021 at 16:30
If legally I can’t not, thanks for your answer
June 17, 2021 at 09:41

June 17, 2021 at 22:36
You will have to wait and see.
June 14, 2021 at 13:51

The I-134 should list each derivative.
June 14, 2021 at 14:39
Hi Brit, I currently live in Canada as a temporary resident (open work permit). I sent DS 260 in August, and in
April 2021 I received the further documents request. I have all the documents except the criminal records from Romania. I went to the consulate and the people there told me that I had two possibilities: to give me a criminal record on the spot or to ask for the apostille criminal record in Romania and they told me that the second option is necessary for the US embassy.
I opted for the second option, the person at the counter told me it would take about a month. It seems that it takes more than 2 months now to get them…
My question is: can I send all the required documents (including the criminal records from Canada) except the criminal records from Romania stating that it is in the process of being resolved (including print screen with the request) or I should wait considering that the chances of receiving an invitation for 2NL are very small now anyway (my case number is 18xxx) and KCC processes the files very slowly… (as you said our chances this year are 0)
Thank you !
June 15, 2021 at 06:16
Do what you think is best.
June 14, 2021 at 14:41
Hello Mr. SIMON,
Many thanks for your endless effort and dedication….
I have 2 questions please,
1- how to name my marriage certificate to send it via email to kcc?
2- I have submitted the dv entry with an old passport (which was valid), and for the ds-260 I used a new passport,, and now I am required to send both of them to the kcc, please advise how to name them both?
Thanks and regards,

Dear Brit
My case is 2021EU14XXX. DS-260 processed, Documents sent upon request on December 2020, but not processed yet. My company is transferring me to another country in EU, and I am wondering if it’s worth asking KCC to change interview location considering a new country has much lower number of DV selectees, so, chances of documents processing and interview scheduling could be higher ?
June 15, 2021 at 06:17
You should decide for yourself.
June 14, 2021 at 21:16
Hi Brit, is there any validity period for documents (police records, marriage certificates…). Like “not older than 6 months” or similar
June 15, 2021 at 06:18
Most documents are valid forever unless limited by country specific instructions. Police certs are valid for 2 years.
June 14, 2021 at 21:34
Good evening Simon,
we are DV2021EU20xxx winners.
Filled out DS-260 in July 2020.
and sent Documents according, to your advice, to KCC without being asked – in March 2021.
Today we got the Mail from KCC, where they ask us to sent our documents. Which I hope is a good sign.
Anyway, Our Police certificates were from june 12th 2020. So today, they are a year and 2 days old. We ordered new ones, but that could take a week or two. What should we do?
Thanks a lot!
June 15, 2021 at 06:18
Send them. The validity period has just been extended to 2 years.
June 14, 2021 at 22:12
Hello Brit,
I am DV2021 winner, I tracked my case number and it now shows ready and my interview in due on June 24th but I am not still able to register my appointment online. I have already done medicals because of limited time. What do you advise I do?
Thanks
June 15, 2021 at 06:21
No need to stress, but really the online registration is easy if you simply register an account and do NOT try to register the appointment. Read the options more carefully.
June 14, 2021 at 23:39
Hello Sir ;
I won lottery 2022 and I want to re open my DS-260 so I sent an email before one month but I got no response and I also snet an email before two weeks but aslo no response
What should be done in the case??
June 15, 2021 at 00:05
Your processing year hasn’t even begun and you’ve already submitted your ds260? You need to take it slow my friend
June 15, 2021 at 01:56
Hi Britsimon today in my country DV 2021 people was protesting infront the embassy in Liberia about there case being process. Liberia Monrovia, so is this a good idea ? Because I am DV 2020 applicant.
June 15, 2021 at 06:27
It probably won’t achieve anything – but I sympathize with their attempt.
June 15, 2021 at 15:35
Ok thank you for your response
June 15, 2021 at 06:22
Patience.
June 15, 2021 at 15:40
Be patient. If I were you I would also submit the DS-260 and required documents.
Of course there may be specific reasons why to delay etc. but generally I think you did well.
June 14, 2021 at 23:54
Simon, many thanks for your great Job. You are absolutely a star!
2021 eU winner 28xxx. Recently, I wanted to print the ds 260 confirmation letter again. as a second copy. My ds seems “unlocked” I can make changes there” is that normal? I’m confused, as it was submitted last year and I got confination letter. Is that ok. Should I worry? Thank you.
June 15, 2021 at 06:22
Sounds like you did not submit the form. It should say “completed” and be reviewable, but not changeable.
June 15, 2021 at 19:24
Hello, I entered the university, but in the 3rd year I dropped out and wanted to know how to mark it on ds260?
June 16, 2021 at 04:23
Just list your attendance.
June 15, 2021 at 00:34
Hi simon!
I’m dv2022 winer CN SA10xx, I’m Venezuelan and currently living in Colombia, also have an American turist visa.
1.- can I select other embassy for my interview? currently bogota embassy only schedule few 2021 interviews.
2.- in your opinion and expertise, this is a good number ?
3.- can I travel to USA after send and submite the DS260?
4.- Is posible that my interview can be schedule or have my interview inside the US?
Kind regards !
June 15, 2021 at 06:26
1. At the moment most embassies are only accepting local cases.
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. It is a more complex process, and you wiould have to be in the USA for months without working. So – don’t bring on that complication. Just be patient and see how things change over the coming months.
June 15, 2021 at 02:13
Hey brit, what do you think about #KeepingOurPromiseAct #HR3548 being introduced in congress ? it can be miracle for dv 2021 , can you speak about that in your next live video?
June 15, 2021 at 06:27
It’s not a law yet, and probably has no chance of becoming law.
June 15, 2021 at 04:28
I think everyone agrees that communication with KCC is currently very frustrating! I finally got them to change my interview location, but they are instructing me to change the address on the DS 260. I don’t understand why i need to change the address on DS 260 if my physical address still remains the same. I will be traveling to another country for the interview purpose only. I don’t have a permanent address in another country. Do you have an advice for my situation, Simon? I’m hesitant to send another email to KCC and confuse them because it sounds like they are not fully getting into the details of each case and they simply respond with their standard responses that don’t always apply in each individual case.
My other question is, I’ve already submitted scanned documents to KCC prior to changing interview location. Do i now need to re-submit my scanned documents to KCC with translations into the language of the country where the interview got moved to? or Should I simply bring the translated documents to an interview (if they ever schedule one)
June 15, 2021 at 06:30
They have probably agreed to the change on the basis that you live in that country. So it’s not unreasonable to ask the new address.
Just take them to interview.
June 16, 2021 at 04:28
I wanted to clarify that they agreed to change interview location based on my dual citizenship. So Should I write to KCC and explain that my permanent location is in the country where my interview was originally scheduled and not where my interview has been moved to. I don’t want to complicate and confuse things in my case, but I’m confused about what’s the right thing to do here. Do you have any advice?
June 16, 2021 at 04:33
Use your judgement based on what you have already said or is the truth.
June 15, 2021 at 06:31
Hi Brit! Now that validity of PC is extended to 2 years? 1.Does it apply to all the countries. 2.Iam plaintiff at Kennedy dv2020 waiting for final judgment ,Sent my docs in october 2019 but never got confirmation so in case we win ,should we renew PC to resend to kcc or it is good 2 years?
June 16, 2021 at 04:10
1. Yes of course.
2. See 1.
June 16, 2021 at 20:14
Please loss what is PC coz am also dv2020
June 18, 2021 at 02:06
Police Certificate
June 15, 2021 at 07:39
Hi Mr Simon, I’m one of the lucky winners for the year 2022 and my case number is 2022AF27xxx.
and I did start to fill out the ds-260, but I could not find the question under additional work starting from “have you belonged to contributed to or worked for any professional, social or charitable organization” until “can you speak and or read language other than your native language” a total of 4 questions is missing from my ds-260 .
1. Are the questions very important? if so, what do I have to do
June 16, 2021 at 04:09
Just answer the questions you see.
June 16, 2021 at 09:43
Thank you very much
June 15, 2021 at 08:15
Dear Brit, thank you for your continuous efforts. I’m DV2021 winner, case# AS11xxx from Amman, Jordan. I am GOH plaintiff as well. KCC asked me to send my documents on June 22, 2020 and I’ve send them the next day but still waiting for documents confirmation & Ready for scheduling email. I’ve send multiple emails to KCC to have their confirmation that they are satisfied with my documents but they keep sending the same email format that once KCC has processed my documents, they will let me know if anything is missing or if they have received everything needed.
Before asking my questions, I want to inform you that Mr. Charles Kuck indicates in his latest video on ImmPact Litigation Channel on minute 44:00 that GOH plaintiffs should resend their documents to KCC according to the dude who testified in judge Chutkin’s court.
My questions are:
1. If I resend my documents today, will this have any negative impact on my case processing? Knowing that I’ve already send my documents last year and still didn’t received ready for scheduling email from KCC
2. I had issued a new police certificate this week because the one I’ve send to KCC will expire on June 23, 2021. So should I resend all my documents with the new police certificate and also attached the old police certificate which I’ve send last year?
3. My wife is the main applicant with me and our child derivatives. We’ve all submitted our ds260 on June 2020. after this, we’ve unlocked the forms to change our sponsor address on September 2020 and resubmitted them again on the same day . However, My wife (the main applicant) unlocked her form again on February 2021 to add all her education since she was 12 years old and resubmitted her form. My question here, will this have any impact on our application processing because she has submitted the form on February 2021?
Many thanks,
June 16, 2021 at 04:11
1. No negative impact.
2. That is fine.
3. No
June 16, 2021 at 06:32
Thank you very much for your reply. I will send all the documents again to KCC docs email but should I mention in the email body that I’ve sent my documents before on June 23, 2020? and that I am resending my documents again?
Many thanks,
June 16, 2021 at 07:18
This is weird. Gov’t said the high case number from Africa was processed somehow in September or October last year. If your docs were not processed I am wondering why. Maybe Simon can try to explain?
I have heard your explanation, Simon, with the stack of paperwork, but now it doesn’t make sense. Am I missing something?
Btw. I watched the video twice to be really sure about the instruction from Chuck. I believe he said to GOH plaintiffs to send documents to KCC no matter what, if they hadn’t done so yet.
And it was not a “dude” but a lady, her name is Ms. Craig from U.S. DoS.
June 16, 2021 at 09:28
hello slovak , we saw a batch of confirmation on documents (ready for scheduling) this month and we communicate with them about when they sent their documents ,the answer was on (sep ,oct, nov) so the problem is from KCC NOT OTHER THINGS.
June 16, 2021 at 16:18
The “pile of paperwork” would go up and down very fast when KCC were working and would simply grow when they were not working.
June 23rd was probably a time when there was a stack of papers – and therefore case number order was applied. The fast AF case I documented submitted DS260, got asked for documents, submitted documents and got ready for scheduling between June 10, 2020 and June 23, 2020. All very fast – but the key to that was the fast processing of DS260, leading the case to get document email very fast and almost unbelievably fast submission of documents (considering that you need to obtain police certs).
I have lost count of the number of times I have explained DS260s are NOT all processed at the same speed. I have lost count of the number of times I explaining cases are processed MOSTLY (not always) in case number order. Perhaps people have not understood why I added the “mostly” part (and perhaps I wasn’t always diligent about adding that caveat) – but I have learned that people only hear what they want to hear – then complain later when they see something that doesn’t fit their *filtered* understanding.
June 16, 2021 at 16:19
No harm in doing that.
June 16, 2021 at 08:47
hello Ham , MR charle kuck said for GOH plaintiffs to send documents for those who have not sent till now .
June 16, 2021 at 12:42
Hello Pierre, thank you for your clarification dear. The thing is my family and I are very desperate for this immigration opportunity and I want to make sure that I did everything correctly to minimize the chances of loosing this opportunity. That’s why I will send our documents again with an updated police certificates.
One last thing I want to ask Mr. Brit is that it is only mandatory for the principal applicant to submit expired & new passports ryt? meaning that if one derivative passport was expired after 6 months of the DV entry, he/she should only submit the new passport without submitting the expired one. as per the below KCC clarification:
“If the passport used by the principal applicant to enter the DV program differs from the one currently being submitted, you should also include a photocopy of the principal applicant’s passport listed on the DV entry with a written explanation”
Many thanks,
June 16, 2021 at 15:54
That passport clarification only applies to the principal selectee.
June 16, 2021 at 16:08
Thank you dear Brit for your reply and support. Last thing to ask, should I mention in the email body to KCCDVDocuments that I’ve sent my documents first time on June 23, 2020? and that I am resending my documents again?
June 15, 2021 at 10:55
Hi Simon,
I had sent my support documents without request back on March, and no response from KCC yet. Do you think it is a good idea to send the support documents again to KCC?
June 16, 2021 at 04:15
It can’t harm.
June 15, 2021 at 13:43
Hello Simon, I’m resident in Azerbaijan and my interview location is Tblisi-Georgia. my case number will be current from July. my CN is 2021AS11K and I received on mid of April/2021 email from KCC that “Congratulations! Our records indicate that your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current and appointments are available.”
Since I have resident permit in Ukraine also, because my wife and kid are Ukrainian I appreciate your opinion/advise on this matter that should I ask KCC to check for me (if it’s possible) Kiev embassy availability for interview or ask them please schedule interview for me with which embassy that will accept my case faster between Kiev and Tblisi embassies ? Thanks in advanced for your answer and your time.
June 16, 2021 at 04:17
Because of the risk, you need to make the decision yourself.
June 16, 2021 at 06:47
Dear Simon appreciate your advise , I received letter from KCC that my documents are qualified on mid of April2021. Do you think approximately which month will be my interview the Tblisi embassy?
June 16, 2021 at 16:19
I have no idea.
June 15, 2021 at 14:43
Hi Simon, hope everything is ok with you and your family.
I was in contact with the us embassy in the country were I live and I got one confusing e-mail and I would like to share with you.
Is this possible? Can I have your e-mail?
Thank you
June 16, 2021 at 04:20
There is no need to do that via email – post it here.
June 15, 2021 at 14:48
Hello Mr. Brit. Thanks for all your hard work for the DV community. I learnt that some people in Ghana have received their 2NL. Please how true is it? Thanks.
June 16, 2021 at 04:20
True.
June 15, 2021 at 15:36
Hi Brit!
I have two questions:
1- I am doing my AOS for DV2021 and I just got current this month. I am completing DS-260 now. Is submitting DS-260 going to slow down my process? I’ve already sent my AOS package to USCIS and got the 2NL from KCC saying they are aware of my AOS (I think that is because of $330 receipt)
2- In the review section of DS-260, I am seeing this question which it says “is your mother’s address same as your father’s address” but I am not finding the question itself in the form. Is that a common bug? I have reset all the options on that page but still not seeing that question. Should I just go ahead and submit the form as it is since my mother’s and father’s address is the same?
Thank you so much for your help!
June 16, 2021 at 04:22
1. No
2. No problem. Don’t overthink it.
June 16, 2021 at 18:47
Hi Saman. Can I please get your contact regarding the AoS process?
June 15, 2021 at 16:35
Hi Simon my name is Mohammed Shaibu winner 2022 with case number 2022AF38000 my question is in filling the DS260 I used my new passport number instead of the old passport number which expires in August 2021I used in entry DV 2022. Should I ask KCC to unlock my DS260 to enter the old passport number or I can leave it like that but when sending my documents I sent both passports copies. Thanks so much
June 16, 2021 at 04:23
You did that correctly.
June 15, 2021 at 20:45
Hi Mr Simion,
Please I need help from you because I’m confused right now. On March 31, I sent all my require documents as you told us. In May I made an enquiry if Kcc received my documents and the sent me this automatic reply:

Hello Brit I’ve seen people saying “hey 2022 fiscal year had not yet started so why are you rushing” but I’m very sure this year is gonna be different from the past year 2020 because interviews will start in October so processing of documents is gonna start as soon as possible right? What’s your advise for people trying to keep things late.
Wanna call KCC for some few enquiries. Are they picking up calls?
June 16, 2021 at 04:26
1. You can submit the DS260 now if you like. If you have a high case number you will wait a long time anyway.
2. No

Hi brit
After I thought my dream came true, now I clearly see that it is far away.
It has been a difficult year for all of us, filled with anticipation, fear and anticipation, and I wish it had a better end.
I will never forget this experience for the rest of my life.
Thank you for being a part of our lives for a whole year.
A dv21 winner

June 16, 2021 at 04:48
Hello Brit (sorry for potential multiple post)
I’m a 2022 dv winner with a number of 2022AF93**
I have filled up and submitted the ds 260 form on June 14th. However I only realised after submission I have made some mistakes on the form mostly regarding
– my education (where I put highest education university degree instead of advanced degree),
– I have only input my uni degrees and not my high school qualifications
– and my previous work for which the address was wrong.
I have seen you have made a video explaining one can get in touch with the KCC in order to unlock the form but also it implicates some risks depending on the timing.
My question is, can I still request for the form to be unlocked?
Ps: if that matters, I have not been requested to send any documents yet and I don’t know when I will be scheduled for an interview.
Looking forward hearing from you.
June 16, 2021 at 04:48
I am dv21 winner AF32k
Kcc replied to my inquiry on 3rd June saying ” Your forms have been received and are currently processing. Allow several weeks for processing. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Once the Kentucky Consular Center has finished processing your DS-260, you will receive an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing. ”
What should I do now
1. Send the documents again without being asked or wait until they request it
2. Us embassy in Pakistan. There’s only three dv cases and they are working
3. I am Curtis Morrison plaintiff
4. Do you thing I will get a chance for interview
June 16, 2021 at 16:25
1. Wait.
4. I don’t know.
June 16, 2021 at 05:01
Hi Brit,
I have two questions about documents :
1. If I’ve never served in military even for mandatory military service (because exemptions reasons)..should I still provide document for this case ?!
2. If I have never convicted for cirme and never entered the courts.. should I still provide court records ?!
Country is Syria.
Thank you in advance, you such a bless to us.
Michael
June 16, 2021 at 16:24
1. If the military service is required or expected, provide proof of the exemption.
2. No

Dear Simon
I’m a good luck VS Biden plaintiff
I came up with – in my point of view – a good guess that plaintiffs of all the current lawsuits who got pretty high case numbers have a “snowball’s chance in hell” of taking advantage of court relief.
In other words, the law says: ” being selected in a loterry is not a guarantee that you’ll get the visa or be interviewed even” especially if one got a high CN. Even in a normal year. So how come one is seeking for court protection while (s)he has a high CN in such year?!
So what I expect the court would do is that it could order KCC to schedule interviews for plaintiffs with lower CNs who are supposed to have been interviewd in March, April, May and June in these two remaining months, and those with high CN will have to be waiting for another outcome. What do think., Simon?
My warmest gratitude. I really appreciate your ongoing help.
June 16, 2021 at 07:02
All case numbers are current now. Now even very high case numbers get scheduled (ready) or issued (check save dv website). Documentary qualified status is still important though.
June 16, 2021 at 16:23
I disagree with you. Case number is not technically important now for DV2021. The only impact it is having is that mainly low number cases have had documents processed. BUT if a court case results in a list being given to KCC to show movement on a list of cases, they could make progress on ANY of those cases.
Of course, Goodluck has so many cases that the government would be justified in applying some ordering, but it may not be case number, it could be something else.
June 16, 2021 at 22:16
Dear Mr. Britsimon
As per your response, Of course, Goodluck has so many cases that the government would be justified in applying some ordering, but it may not be case number, it could be something else.
My question is: what could be that thing Sir?
Thanks.
John
June 17, 2021 at 16:56
Various things – there could be different ordering for those already documentarily qualified, they might order by the order in which the list of plaintiffs are presented – we simply have to wait and see.
June 16, 2021 at 23:17
Maybe they will start with the documentarily qualified cases (it’s seems logical)?????
June 17, 2021 at 16:58
@lodv – that is one level – but there will probably be an ordering below that.
June 16, 2021 at 07:51
Dear Brit,
Greeting! My cn is AS28xxx ; Joined the Goodluck lawsuit, submitted documents without the documents request email. My passport will be expiring in FEB 2022.
Question:
1) Should I renew the passport now?
2) Should I unlock the DS 260 to update my new passport?
3) Or Can I send both new & old passport to KCCdocuments without update the DS 260?
4) or should I just bring the new and old passport if I have an interview ( without sending the new copy to KCCdocuments) ?
I always worring unlock DS 260 will further delay the process.
Appreciate your advice.
With warmest regards.
June 16, 2021 at 16:08
1. Yes
2. No
3. Just take old and new to the interview.
4. This.
June 16, 2021 at 09:35
Hi Simon
We had our interview this morning. We got a 221g refusal and have been put under AP for a missing Police certificate. I will have the document by this evening and submit it at the embassy tomorrow. They kept our passports. What happens now? Is the processing now a lot longer? Will we be put at the end of the queue or something?
June 16, 2021 at 16:06
No – missing documents are normally quite fast to resolve. Once you present the police cert the case could be approved within a few days, but perhaps as long as a couple of weeks.
June 16, 2021 at 09:50
Hello Brit,
I sent my document without request in beginning of March, then last week i got the email of requesting documents so i sent them again.
1.Does it mean the documents I previously sent had something wrong (i checked many times) so they are asking again? or they just ignored the email i sent without request?
2.When there’s something wrong with the scanned documents, the email you get is the same as the first one? Or do they mention that something is wrong, just dont specify it?
Thanks a lot for your help
June 16, 2021 at 16:05
1. I don’t know for sure.
2. They don’t specify it. That would make it too easy.
June 16, 2021 at 10:52
Here is an actual case history.
Case 2021AF55XXX.
Checked he was a selectee on June 7, 2020
Single applicant (easy DS260 processing)
Submits DS260 around June 10.
Gets email request to send documents.
Gets Ready for scheduling on June 23, 2020.
Scheduled for June 15.
Brit u mean all these happened within 3 weeks? Wow
June 16, 2021 at 16:04
Yes – that is what I said. The case is now approved.
I posted that history to show that SOME high number cases can be processed before low cases IF they happen to submit DS260 and documents at a time when there is little or no backlog. In this case it was right at the beginning of the year and the DS260 was processed very fast. I know of other cases where the DS260 was submitted before this case and they did NOT get a fast DS260 processing, and therefore did not get documents processed fast either.
June 16, 2021 at 11:13
HI Brit.
Greetings
I am 2022 dv lottery winner. my case No is 2022ASxxxx. I made unlock request on May 28 to make minor revision in DS260 Form. and waiting for response but till today, there is no reaction from the KCC. A friend of mine suggest not to worry about the unlock request or KCC letter but forward CIVIL DOCUMENTS. Can we do so without receiving letter from the KCC. Thank you in advance for advice .

Make your case number more clear.
June 17, 2021 at 04:35
My case number is 2022AS81**.
June 16, 2021 at 12:28
Hi Brits, why Ghana embassy is still in the red list, but not in the green list despite the embassy have started Dv interviews?
June 16, 2021 at 15:57
Because they have not updated CEAC so those interviews are “in transit” – a status that does not show the embassy.
June 16, 2021 at 12:31
Hi sir how are you ?
i winner 2022 AS 24**** and my interview in sydney australia my question is : 1-Does the location of the interview affect the time i mean as you know the embassy in sydney not busy so there is any chance i get early interview ?
2- do you have any idea about the in sydney i heard they had higher refused number
3- I have a nickname, that is not found in any official document, it is only used in family and friends and social media, should i added in ds 260 (which is i already submit it )
June 16, 2021 at 15:57
1. You can’t be interviewed before your number is current and you have not made clear what is your number.
2. That is not normal for Sydney so I suspect it relates to AP cases showing as refused.
3. You might have used the other names section if you thought it was commonly used.
June 16, 2021 at 18:14
Am Godson from Ghana
please how can I apply for the DV lottery.
June 17, 2021 at 16:47
The lottery entry period will open in October at dvprogram.state.gov
June 16, 2021 at 13:03
Hi Brit
I am a 2022 winner
After submitting my DS260, I realised I made a mistake so I requested KCC to unlock my DS 260 via emallil, it’s been a week now, my form hasn’t been unlocked. Is it normal?
How long will it take to unlock my form
June 16, 2021 at 15:53
It can take a while. Relax and be patient.
June 16, 2021 at 14:41
Hello sir, my questions are that how many months do I need to have in my passport before the interview and does this lawsuit help people that are not in the lawsuit.
June 16, 2021 at 15:53
The “normal” procedure is that your passport has at least 6 months validity – but that would be a minimum.
We have to wait and see what happens in the lawsuits.
June 16, 2021 at 15:20
Hi Brit. I’ve seen most Ghanaians complain that even though they have been scheduled for interviews, cases are still in transit and not ready yet. Hope that’s not affecting them and interview is coming off as planned.
June 16, 2021 at 15:51
Updating CEAC is not a critical part of the process and these interviews are for JULY, so there is plenty of time.
June 16, 2021 at 16:04
Hi Brit,
Can you please confirm is it true that as of recently Police certificates expire after 2 years instead od 1?
June 16, 2021 at 17:31
Dear Simon
My wife has won the DV lottery 2022 and we are filling DS 260.
My name in the official document has never changed and all my papers are with my official name and sure name. Do i need to enter the other names that my parents and friends call me and know me and i use them in my social network but there is no documents for them, please?
June 17, 2021 at 16:46
If you use them in social media accounts, I would personally list them.
June 16, 2021 at 17:59
Hello Simon,
Hope you are doing well!
I am a DV 2022 winner from Africa region. I am filling DS260 and I have a question.
On the first DV entry application, the mailing address I filled was in Italy because I was studying there. However, currently, I’m back in my home country( Ethiopia) and started living here. So while filling the DS260 do I need to put the mailing address( Italy) similar with the one I submitted during the DV entry application or can I put my current permanent address where I am living now (Ethiopia)?
Thanks a lot!
June 17, 2021 at 16:48
Ethiopia.
June 16, 2021 at 18:36
Hello Simon and thanks for your guidance on DV Lottery.
My wife is one DV2022 selecties and her CN is 2022AF105… which I think is the low number.
At present my she is doing internship and she did not work in the past. She has a university degree since 2015. So, I want to know what should put on the working section of the DS260.
Thank you!

June 16, 2021 at 18:43
Hi Simon,
I’m F1 Student in the US and selected DV lottery. I’m going to apply for for the green card AOS. But I’m my passport is expiring in Aug 21st 2021 and I’m waiting my new passport to arrive which is going to take another 1 month. As I’m applying AOS, Is it necessary to have new passport or i should just file I-485 form and other documents with my current passport?
And I will need to KKC confirmation email to send with the supporting documents ?
how should I inform KCC that I’m intending get green card through AOS. Should I just email KCC ? I already sent DS-260 but sent email to unlock to revise some information?
June 17, 2021 at 16:49
You don’t give me the case number/year/region so I can’t answer.
June 22, 2021 at 22:18
my case number is 2022AS00018xxx
June 24, 2021 at 04:15
So you have a LONG time before you can file with that number. While you wait – you can read all about AOS here:

June 16, 2021 at 18:50
hi brit
some questions including the one asking about languages is not shown on my friend’s ds260.what seems to be the problem.
June 17, 2021 at 16:50
No problem, just answer the questions you see.
June 16, 2021 at 20:23
Hi Mr.Simon
Pleas i need your help
I’m a DV2021 winner and I’ve submitted all the documents to KCC and finally had my interview. The challenge is I’m Egyptian who is born in Saudi Arabia. When I returned to Egypt 30 years ago I gave my Saudi Birth Certificate to Egypt authorities and they gave me my national birth certificate as I’m Egyptian and not Saudi and in the certificate it says clearly place of birth is Saudi Arabia. The embassy is insisting on asking me to provide a birth certificate from Saudi Arabia which I don’t have and can’t get it. Please help me what should I do
Kind Regards
Mohamed
June 17, 2021 at 16:54
I am not surprised they are asking for a SA birth cert. Egypt is NOT the authority for births in SA. The SA reciprocity page has helpful guides on how to obtain birth certs.

June 20, 2021 at 22:49
Hey Brit
They “Might” ask for it or it’s a must?
Because my husband in the same situation but he’s claiming charge ability based on my country will they also ask for it?
June 22, 2021 at 13:38
If they ask, it’s then a must.
June 20, 2021 at 10:09
Hello Mohamed,
I am Sudanese born in Saudi Arabia as well, and I am doing this process now,
You should make a power of attorney to someone you know in Saudi Arabia and he can go get it for you from there, the power of attorney (توكيل قانوني) should be attested in the Egyptian ministry of foreign affairs and Saudi embassy in Egypt before it’s sent to Saudi Arabia.
Please do the above as fast as possible so you won’t lose this valuable chance
June 22, 2021 at 15:16
Hello Mohammed
Have they asked it from you?
And do you know what to do if I don’t know anyone in saudi arabia!?
June 22, 2021 at 15:18
Sorry i meant To ask mr.Ayman
Can i get in contact with you please visa facebook or email address or phone number?
June 20, 2021 at 22:51
Hey Mohammed
Can i get in contact with you?? If you can provide me your email address or phone number
June 16, 2021 at 22:58
Hi Simon. As a Goh plaintiff I am curious if we might learn something about the Goh outcome on July 13 – during the very final hearing. What do you think?
Or Judge Mehta is not going to announce it during/at the end of the hearing, but rather prepare it anytime after the hearing ?
June 17, 2021 at 16:57
I doubt it will be on the day itself. BUT there are impacts already being felt by some cases, it is not just about the July 13 hearing.
June 16, 2021 at 23:30
Hi brit, about jacob case, the judge want to exclude goodluck plaintiffs from instant class relief, what does that mean .
1)-if judge preserve visas , the goodluch plaintiffs will be excluded.
2)-if judge order relief and turn on dv process , the good luck will be excluded (they will adjudicate only jacob and others (non goodluck plaintiffs)??
3)- so what that mean ? (please explain briefly to us) THANK YOU
June 17, 2021 at 16:59
Let’s wait and see what is decided without speculation.
June 17, 2021 at 00:28
Hello simon,
How long does it take to send AOS package, should I also hire a lawyer?
June 17, 2021 at 19:29
Most people do their own forms/process, and don’t need a lawyer. It doesn’t take long.
