Hello Sir.
I am DV21 winner.
My brother is in USA right now. He went by Work and Travel Program last year. He wants to stay there, attending college and right now he wants to seek asylum (or refuge) for becoming a citizen. We want know is there a possible negative effect on me? Would it create a problem on my interview?
June 19, 2021 at 20:30
Nothing to do with your case.
June 19, 2021 at 12:35
Hi Mr. Simon
My wife has won DV lottery 2022 in Jordan/ Amman. Whereas I live in USA on Asylum pending status. Do I have to submit Ds 260 with my wife
June 19, 2021 at 20:33
Your case is complex. The easiest thing is to interview with her – but if you cannot do that then she case sponsor you for a family based visa later once she enters the USA.
June 19, 2021 at 13:16
Dear Mr Brit,
I am DV2021 winner and Goh vs DOS plaintiff and have 2 cases to clarify:
1.While submitting application in 2019 I have indicated father’s name in Middle Name and it was NIGAR VAGIF SHUKUROVA. In the selection letter NIGAR VAGIF SHUKUROVA and address starts with c/o NIGAR SHUKUROVA. In the DS 260 – NIGAR SHUKUROVA as it is in the passport as we do not have middle names. Interview place is Tbilisi.
What should I do now? Change DS 260 or it does not affect the overall process and keep like it is?
2. My husband father’s name is CANBULAT in English, but on all translated documents the translation company wrote the name as JANBULAT. Both are ok, but in the DS 260 I have included CANBULAT.
Scanned documents sent also with JANBULAT (docs not checked yet).
Should we change translated documents and re-submit them to KCC with explanation?
Your soonest and kind response will be much appreciated.
Regards,
Mrs Nigar
June 19, 2021 at 20:34
1. The DS260 should have the accurate legal name, and use the other names section if needed.
2. Same answer as 1. If translations are incorrect, correct them.
June 20, 2021 at 10:29
Dear Mr Brit, in other names I have indicated my previous Family name (before marriage).
Should I add Father’s name as well?
June 22, 2021 at 13:15
If that was your name, yes.
June 19, 2021 at 14:28
Hi Brit
I am a dv 2022 selectee from Eritrea, East Africa. I and my wife have passports but our child’s passport is yet not ready, So Is it possible to fill the Ds260 with out my child’s passport.
June 19, 2021 at 20:36
Why rush?
June 21, 2021 at 18:58
Hi Brit,
Appreciate if you can help in my situation, I have finally got two renewed passport for my kids. Based on your advice I submit all docs by Mid April with the old passport copies( one passport was already expired & extended for 6 months and the other one was valid till Nov.2021) .last week I emailed KCC to check the progress with no answer as expected.
Now, do u see it is better to send all docs with the new passports or this may delay any docs review in case it was started in April / May?
I’m also concerned KCC May hold docs review & approval as doc qualified since one of these two passport expired already in end of 2020.

June 22, 2021 at 14:00
KCC are not getting around to processing medium to high case numbers. Many people with even lower case numbers than yours are already ready for scheduling and still not getting interviews. So – do what you think is right, but I hope you joined the lawsuit…
June 22, 2021 at 15:40
Thanks, I did. GL to all of us & thanks for support.
June 19, 2021 at 15:24
Hi
So i won the dv 2022 lottery and filled my ds 260 , since i am in the usa i dont know what i am supposed to do next , i got a confirmation after completing ds-260 that states i should gather the required document and photographs and schedule an appointment with UsCsi (they told me in the letter i need to book it myself) . June 19, 2021 at 20:38
I suggest you slow down and learn about AOS. Study the link below, especially the document linked from the first post.

Which address is the SSN sent to? If you have given an address of a relative for the GC but you’re planning to live in another state, would the SSN be sent to the same address provided for the GC or the address where we’re planning to live at?
Thanks Simon
June 19, 2021 at 20:39
The address on the DS260

Dear Simon, hope you are doing well. You are doing an excellent job in supporting and guiding green card winners like me. I am a winner of green card for the year 2022. I have some questions in my mind in filling out DS 260. My verification No is AS000010xx. I worked in Qatar from 2014 – 2017 in a Construction Company. I returned to my country on vacation in 2017 May and not gone back. Should I show it in my DS 260? Should I produce a police clearance report of Qatar? My Company was collapsed and no more in Qatar. There is a question in DS 260 that “Have you travelled to any country in the last 5 years? If I answered “Yes” I need to give further details. I travelled to Qatar from my country on 10th July 2016. I complete five years on 10th July 2021. Can I wait until five years finish to submit my DS 260 on 10 July 2021. If I wait until 10th July 2021, then can I put in the DS 260 form that Not travelled to any country within last 5 years. I have loan arrears and credit cards in the bank of Qatar.
June 19, 2021 at 20:41
You need to read and follow the instructions including the reciprocity page. Study that.
June 19, 2021 at 19:56
Is your mailing address same as your present address?
1.what does it mean?
2. I had choosen (High school, No degree) at the time of DV application, but I had already completed (high school diploma) in 2019 which is before the entry of my dv application.
Now, in ds260, I have written (high school diploma).
Will I be disqualified for this mistake?
June 19, 2021 at 20:44
1. Some people receive letters at a different address to their actual address.
2. No
June 19, 2021 at 20:01
Hi sir , my wife is the main applicant and she wrote in her ds260 that she is working as a freelancer graphic designer which is the true …someone told us that’s not suitable to write that in the form as it will cause a problem and she will get a refuse for her visa and she have to write that she is a comouter teacher your advice will be important to us

The person you spoke to is an idiot. Tell the truth.

Hi Simon.
Thank you for sharing knowledge with people.
I am from Ethiopia.
I have question about my dv
I got selected on dv 2022
I wrongly typed My middle name when I was filling up the dv App.
I typed AbdULhi.
Instead of AbduLAHI. With A next the L.
I have diploma and degree as Education Certs. All my other Documents are in correct with the A.
How do you think it will effect me in the process and at the Embassy.
And what Should I do.
Thanks.
June 19, 2021 at 20:46
Correct the mistake in the DS260
June 19, 2021 at 20:47
Hi Brit
In Iraq, there is Secondary school Certificate (A degree for successfully completing 9 years of studying), can I add it in DS-260 and choose (High School, No degree) as my highest level of education?
Or I should ask NO to the question (Have you attended any educational institutions at a secondary level or above?) ?
June 22, 2021 at 13:08
You can use the certificate.
Just detail all education from age 12 and up.
June 19, 2021 at 22:16
Dear Simon hi,
I am DV2021 winner from EU region with case no 2021EU2XXX. I would like kindly to ask you regarding validity of Police Certificates. Since I have dual citizenship Greek and Albanian I have sent on June 2020 both PC for Albania to US embassy Albania and for Greece to US embassy Greece. Now is almost one year since I submitted. Do I need to prepare again Police Certificate for both countries?
Thank you
June 22, 2021 at 13:08
No – they are now accepting police certs up to 2 years old.
June 19, 2021 at 22:56
Hi Brit
my case number is 2022AS30xxx. I know it is a high number but do you think I might get an interview?
June 22, 2021 at 13:09
It is too early to make any guesses.
June 19, 2021 at 23:08
Hello Brit, do you have any idea about the G-28 form and how it can help people who didnt get confirmation for the documents,
Thanks for the reply,
Regards.
June 22, 2021 at 13:10
That form is simply informing the government that you will use an attorney.
June 20, 2021 at 03:52
Dear Brit,
I am a visa 2022 winner. I am married but I did not add my wife’s name in the selection form. Now can I put my wife’s name or should i not put my wife’s name in the DS-260. My wife is pregnant and she will not join with me any time sooner. She is also asking my to apply without putting her name in it. Please suggest.
June 22, 2021 at 13:12
You must not lie during this process.
But if you were married at the time of the DV entry and you did not include your spouse, then you will be disqualified.
June 20, 2021 at 06:37
Hello Simon,
Thank you so much for the informative video about submitting supporting documents!

June 22, 2021 at 13:13
Why not wait a few weeks?
June 20, 2021 at 07:38
Hello Sir
I am DV2022 winner i did a mistake in social security number part of the DS 260 form, in answer of this question.have you ever applied for Social security number i mark yes . And in second question which is, do you want social security administration to issue a Card I didn’t answer either yes or no should i unlock my form or I should ask the embassy consular officer to correct it for me. Best regards
June 22, 2021 at 13:13
Correct it at the interview.
June 20, 2021 at 07:57

June 22, 2021 at 13:16
Be patient for a few weeks.
June 20, 2021 at 13:44
Hi Britsimon, thank you for your helping.
My question is.
I have dual citizenship and i was filled my DS260 with one citizenship (One Passport)
Can i take my 2nd passport they day of my interview while i didn’t tell that i have 2nd nationality. Because i preffer the one i didn’t mention in ds260 to stamp my visa, beacuse the other one is from one of the trump banned muslim countries, eventhough the ban was revoked but still some of DV2021 winner from my country the embassy told them, they still need some review about ban and said we will contact you back and they put on AP?
I am waiting your answer. thank you sir.
June 22, 2021 at 13:17
You are more likely to be delayed if you don’t give them accurate information up front.
June 20, 2021 at 14:24
Hi Brit,
Have you heard about DV winners, who after entering the US to activate the green card, are scheduled again for biometrics in the US even though they have already done them in the Embassy at their interview.
I have heard about many DV2020 who entered and are scheduled now for second biometrics in the US even if they left the country after activating.
Is it a new thing? Is it normal or should they say to Uscis that they already did biometrics in foreign embassy?
God bless you Mr Brit.
June 22, 2021 at 13:18
It happens in some cases. It’s not a big problem.
June 20, 2021 at 14:34
Hi Simon
How should I fill the gap with diploma or deggre of university where i am still atending.?
Just like: I am still studying or no diploma etc
June 22, 2021 at 13:18
That would be your current occupation, not education completed.
June 20, 2021 at 14:39
1Hi Simon I won the lottery with cn 2022Af38000 is my cn low or high.?
2.when am I likely to be interviwed
June 20, 2021 at 20:44
That is a medium number, on a normal year you might have been interviewed around June/July 2022.
But do please remember that this last three lotteries have been anything but normal. So take the information with a grain of salt. But, yes in a normal year you would be interviewed around June or July
June 22, 2021 at 13:18
It is too early to know anything. Patience.
June 20, 2021 at 15:24
Hi Simon,
On the DS-260 online application, my father’s birth city name is too long to fit within the max characters. “San Vito al Tagliamento” is the official name. It’s 3 characters too long and there’s no short version sadly.
Do I write as much as can fit, or is it better to tick the “don’t know” box to avoid lodging an incorrect name?
Thanks for your resource!
June 22, 2021 at 13:21
Write the name until you run out of space. Drop the spaces if it helps. (SanVitoAlTagliamento)
June 20, 2021 at 15:29
HI MR Simon, thank you for responding back, ,
On my wife’s Ds 260 , I am as a derivative. If she submit Ds260 and the documents alone without mine, because I am going to submit Adjustment of status with the USCIS here in USA.. would you think the KCC will reject her application because of not completing my ds260 and neither uploading my documents???.
June 22, 2021 at 13:23
You cannot adjust status on her case until she has processed her case, and then she would have to sponsor you through a family based process. So – I suggest you interview with her.
June 20, 2021 at 17:29
Hello simon
I got selected in both year 2021 and 2022. However, I didn’t start my processing last year.
Now I am gonna fill my ds260 form.
But, there is little shadow in my photo and earring at one ear.
What to do in this case?
June 20, 2021 at 19:27
Hi brit
Just found out about ur website….just had a question my case no# is 2022oc15xx is this case no# high….should I process further???
June 22, 2021 at 13:29
It’s probably a good number, but we don’t know the exact number of selectees yet.
June 22, 2021 at 18:52
Do you think we would see holes as we saw in dv2020 and dv2021??
June 24, 2021 at 04:08
There are holes every year. As to what the density will be – let’s wait and see.
June 24, 2021 at 19:05
@pash….that’s gr8 send me ur email…which country are u from btw..
June 24, 2021 at 20:34

My email address is [email protected]. Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers
June 23, 2021 at 00:18
@Sally My case number is in line with yours. I’m also from Oceania Region. Requesting if we could converse on a private message probably through email or messenger.
June 21, 2021 at 17:04
Fill your ds-260, there is nothing you can do to correct an initial dv entry
June 22, 2021 at 13:28
That is no problem.
June 20, 2021 at 19:39
Hello brit, im 2020 selectees, just renewed my police certificate( im from iraq) , im planning to travel to iraq next week and staying for one month.do i need to get another one after the trip?
June 22, 2021 at 13:29
No
June 24, 2021 at 07:14
Thank you 🙂
June 20, 2021 at 20:02
Dear Simon,
HELP PLEASE! I entered both case numbers WITHOUT zeros, is that a problem? Should I contact the Kentucky office? To make things worse, the website crashed the moment I wanted to print my confirmation number and I clicked refresh and it brought me to the beginning of Sign in and I just left the page because I was afraid it would start the application for the second time. Please help and thank you so much for your time!
June 21, 2021 at 05:26
When I say both case numbers, I mean the one I first have to enter and then the one on Sing and Submit Page [it said my application has been successfully submitted before the website crashed but I am still afraid that omitting those zeros in the initial case number is a big mistake]. Thank you once again!
June 22, 2021 at 13:30
That is no problem – but do check if you have completed your DS260
June 22, 2021 at 13:52
Thank you so much for your kind reply. I have checked and it says it is completed. I have also managed to print the confirmation number so I guess everything is ok (it also says my case is at KCC). Thank you once again, I appreciate your help!
June 20, 2021 at 20:12
Hi Simon. 2022AF3K. Submitted my DS260 2 days after the results. I am from Morocco where the consulate is working at a higher pace than any other country. Not sure it’s a good idea to Proactively send The docs since the DS260 confirmation email clearly states : “ You do not need to submit any documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center”. Your opinion?
June 22, 2021 at 13:31
You WILL need to send documents, but it is probably best to wait a few weeks to see if they ask for documents.
June 20, 2021 at 20:12
Hello Brit
2021 EU10k still waiting for validation, for months now.
We noticed we have excluded the principal applicant’s middle name from the documents naming.
We named the documents this way, for example: 2021EUXXXXX_Firstname_Lastname_Passport.pdf
And we were thinking it would be more accurate this way: 2021EUXXXXX_Firstname_Middlename_Lastname_Passport.pdf
Do you think this could be a problem or a reason to not process documents?
Thank you
June 22, 2021 at 13:32
No
June 20, 2021 at 20:52
Hi Mr. Brit!
Аre there law firms to join?
Since many firms have not already filed a claim.(
My case number 29k. What can I do?
June 22, 2021 at 13:32
I don’t know of any other lawsuit.
June 20, 2021 at 21:27
Hi Simon. I am DV2022 lottery winner. My case number is OC000003** from Tonga. The embassy that we are under in is the US Embassy in Suva. I have submitted my DS 260 last month, but I have not yet to receive any email for further documentation from the embassy. Maybe this is due to the surge of covid cases in Fiji. Also their border is already closed for about 3 months now. Please can you help me by letting me know the following..
1) if I have a high or low case number
2) can I send in my documents or still wait for their email
3) would it be better if I try to change my interview location to another embassy? Since the situation in Fiji is not getting any better. I really do not want to lose my chance.
4) When is the interview for DV-2022 gonna start
Your advise would be greatly appreciated.
June 20, 2021 at 23:24
Hi,
Am a winner from fiji….just a heads up you do not need to send your documents to the embassy send it to kcc…the interviews should start October and ur no# is quite low it should be October or November but we cannot be certain any longer due to covid and we know the border is closed and so is the embassy…..just pray and hope covid cases lowers in fiji or most fijian get vaccinated….so things can normalize…
June 22, 2021 at 13:33
1. Low
2. Either way.
3. There is plenty of time. Patience.
4. Not until October at the earliest.
June 20, 2021 at 22:24
hello Mr Simon
I have a couple of question .
FIRST
Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?
what should i write in the explanation ?
note : i have taken my country full vaccination program which is different from the US .
SECOND
Are you a graduate of a foreign medical school seeking to perform medical services in the United States but have not yet passed the National Board of Medical Examiners examination or its equivalent?
i am currently a working doctor preparing for the exam but not officially registering to take it yet .
do i answer with YES or NO , i am not aiming to work illegally as a doctor in the US if that’s what the question implies .
THIRD
Do you authorize disclosure of information from this form to the Department of Homeland Security, the Social Security Administration, and such other U.S. Government agencies as may be required for the purposes of assigning you a social security number (SSN) and issuing you a Social Security card and do you authorize the Social Security Administration to share your SSN with the Department of Homeland Security?
should i answer it with yes or no
thank you in advance for your sincerity and patience good sir
June 22, 2021 at 13:37
1. No
2. Yes
3. Your choice.
The DS260 guide would have answered these questions…
June 20, 2021 at 23:15
Hello Brit.I have my interview appointment on Thursday and i have a few questions.
1.On the visa fees,is it strictly USD cash or we can pay by card with our local currency equivalent to $330.
2.I visited China before and stayed for exactly 6 months June-December and i did not provide a police certificate for that. Will this be an issue at the interview. Thanks
June 22, 2021 at 13:38
1. Check with your embassy.
2. No
June 20, 2021 at 23:19
Hi Simon, I hope you are well. I received an approval for the 2021 DV lottery and submitted the DS 260 form in November 2020. I haven’t received an interview notification as yet. Can you provide some advice on what would be the next most effective steps? Thank you.
June 22, 2021 at 13:39
There are no simple effective steps. Everyone is experiencing delays and frustration. All you can do is ask KCC if they are satisfied with your documents.
June 21, 2021 at 11:24
Hi Simon! I am one of 2022 DV winner, meanwhile I accepted in to Russia scholarship for this year. my Q is that is it possible that travel to Russia for study will cause bad affect for my DV process or no? thank you
June 22, 2021 at 13:42
No problem.
June 21, 2021 at 11:33
Hi Brits, I hope you are well,
I am a DV lottery 2022 AF 27000 is it a must for the host to fill up the form I 234?
2 if yes, when should I send it to KCC?
3 must it be submitted together with the DS260?
June 21, 2021 at 17:01
Perhaps you mean the i-134, if so, you should bring it with you to your interview, and remember the supporting evidence.
June 22, 2021 at 13:43
1. The I-134. It is needed in some cases.
2. No – you take it to the interview and provide it IF asked.
June 22, 2021 at 20:28
1.Please in which cases is the i-134 needed?
2. Do i need to show my bank statement with savings?
3. If yes,how many month statement is mostly required and how much should i have as a single person?
June 24, 2021 at 04:11
1. Varies by case – it is up to the CO.
2. That can help.
3. It varies – but at least $10k per person.
June 21, 2021 at 11:36
Hi Brits, what is the time limit to submit the DS260 form for 2022 winners with case number 27000?
June 22, 2021 at 13:43
No is ok.
June 21, 2021 at 11:37
Dear Brit, I’m 2021AF36XXX, DS sent in July, docs sent in March. No requesting document e-mail yet. Joigned Goodluck.
My only daughter (14y) has got her US passport this year. She lives with her mother (ex wife) in the US. I haven’t seen her for 3 years.
Question : Is there any way to make KCC speed or prioritize my case ? Anything they can do cause of my situation ?
Thanks alot Brit !
June 22, 2021 at 13:45
No.
June 21, 2021 at 14:07

THere are MANY cases without interviews. Very few interviews are being scheduled in all countries, even though ALL case numbers are current. Most embassies are only accepting “local” cases.

My Case no. : 2022AF00012XXX
chargeability : Egypt
I Live in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and My family lives in Egypt , I choose (saudi arabia) as location of interview for me and my family.
Now I am planning to move them to live with me in Saudi Arabia by next month.
Should I unlock the DS260 and update their new address in Saudi Arabia ?
It was mentioning their current address in Egypt in DS-260.

Hello sir,
Thank you for what you’re presenting to us on YouTube channel.
my name is Ahmed, I am Sudanese but I live in China right now.
I applied for DV lottery 2022 and I won. the problem is since my country doesn’t consider the last name, middle name and first name I made a mistake when I put my middle name with the last name together on the first application because my full name consists of four names according to my passport, so I want to modify it on DS-260 and put the correct arrangement, will I be disqualified?
considering that still the names the same like my passport but my applicant name will be different.

That should be OK – just make it correct on the DS260.

Hello sir
Regarding the documents naming how it will be? since I’ve modified my last name on DS-260 (it was three names, now one)!!

Hi simon i’m DV2022 winner, i’m living out of Saudi Arabia, I am in trouble getting My PCC from Saudi. Am i exempt from Saudi PCC based on the following link? https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/SaudiArabia.html

“Only Saudi citizens and non-citizens currently residing in Saudi Arabia can obtain a police certificate. Saudi citizens outside of Saudi Arabia should contact the Saudi Embassy to inquire about the process of receiving a Criminal Record Certificate. Non-citizens not currently residing in the Saudi Arabia cannot obtain a police certificate.”

Hi Simon, Solomon from Ethiopia, thanks for your answer, I hope KCC knows about it. so should I have expected to write and attach a letter when I send my civil documents to KCC? or Is there another thing I should do or explain to KCC about Saudi PCC?
Thank you again.

hi Simon, thanks for helping everyone. I have two questions. My first question is that a friend of mine entered the lottery in 2019 without being graduated from high school and had written that he was graduated in order to meet the requirement but now that he is graduated and has won the dv 2022 again will his previous mistake affect the his winning?
My second question is that if someone wins the dv and then get disqualified maybe for the mistake they made, will they never be able to go to America even if they win again and without making any mistake and providing all the facts and meeting the requirement?

1. No
2. No problem unless that person lies.

Hi Brit
Is it normal to send KCC to unlock your DV for correction for more than 2 weeks with no response and action from their side
June 22, 2021 at 13:54
Sometimes, yes.

Hello Mr. Simon, my partner won dv2022 and we already had planned to get married in July. The thing is he has got CN EU2022 7XX ( seven hundred range ). We are both Romanian citizens and after some research we know that this is a very low case number.
The issue here is that we wish to delay as much as possible the interview in order to be able to prepare (financially mostly) for this so that we will not have issues regarding the public charge.
We can get job offers from US by transferring within our companies and also we are looking for an apartment, in order to prove that we have something to work and where to stay. (We’ve looked also over the I-134 affidavit form but right now lets say we don’t want to have to use it unless really necessary)
What would be your recommendation in such a case?
(We haven’t submitted yet the DS260 until we get married in July)
June 22, 2021 at 13:55
You can delay submitting the DS260 or documents and that would delay your case, but honestly, you are probably worrying for no reason.
June 21, 2021 at 16:55
There is no real time limit, but you should submit it as soon as possible

Hi Simon!
When I send documents to KCC how should I name the topic of email and my files (documents) attached.
EU23***_surname_name_passport.pdf or EU000023***_surname_name_passport.pdf
