Hi brit I was really having troubles entering your websitr. It seem like some people that sell meds use your blogs name tí theirs. And now when I use BritSimonsays.com URL It leads there.
October 30, 2021 at 02:20
Yes it happened to me as well
November 2, 2021 at 23:35
I think that was happening when my hosting service moved my server. It’s not still happening – correct?
October 29, 2021 at 23:52
As u said I have to be part of plantif before my 2021 ds 260 will process. Just want to find how I join the plantif .
October 30, 2021 at 00:33
You can’t join now.
October 29, 2021 at 23:26
Hey Brit.
My wife is winner of DV2022 and I am derivative but I am concerned because a few years ago I worked in another town in my country for a summer job for about 2 months but I did not list it in DS-260. Should I request KCC for unlock?
Much appreciated.
October 29, 2021 at 23:50
No. That is a trivial detail.
October 30, 2021 at 00:01
Sorry, as I may have mispronounced in the first comment. I have not listed it in the section on addresses that I have lived since I was 16 years old. So in the addresses section I listed only the address where I lived during all this time but not the address of the place where I stayed for two months for work.
thanks again for the prompt reply.
October 30, 2021 at 00:34
I already answered. You don’t list short stays.
October 29, 2021 at 21:22
Hi Brit,
I was hoping you could help me.
I have won the DV Lottery 2022 and am in the process of completing the DS-260.
I recently got married and added my wife to the application. In my DS-260 I added her with her new legal name. However, this information isn’t reflected in her passports. She is a Dual-Citizen and we figured we might be able to get both passports changed by the end of the year. However, this is proving more difficult then we anticipated. At the current rate I don’t see us getting both her passports back until February or March of next year.
Do you think this timeline will significantly decrease our chances of getting an interview?
If we get one passport back by the end of the year would it be a problem if one was in her new name and the other in her maiden?
Should we cancel the passport application and request the KCC to update her applicant name so it matches the maiden name in her passports and do an official name change after the interview?
We are in the EU case load and our position is 20k +
October 29, 2021 at 23:11
You are worrying about nothing.
Your number won’t be current for a few months anyway, so relax.
October 29, 2021 at 15:53
Hello BritSimons,
I’ve been trying to enter the DV 2023 lottery but Google chrome and Microsoft edge keep crushing after moving to the second page. I’ve tried fixing it by clearing the history after each use but it still doesn’t work. Do you have any suggestion of a browser to use?
October 29, 2021 at 17:49
Use any other browser, but also make sure your pc has good connection.
October 29, 2021 at 22:22
Hi Brit. Do you think that DV 2022 will be better than DV 2021?? Thanks…
October 29, 2021 at 23:12
There have been 3 months of DV2022 with almost no interviews. DV is still prioritized at Tier 4.
So unless something changes, no.
October 29, 2021 at 14:15
Hi BritSimons,
So I submitted my DS 260 in June and subsequent requested for unlock in August which was unlocked at the end of September and re-submitted the DS 260 few hours after it was unlocked, does this in any way delay the processing of my DS 260? will will take in back in line ?
October 29, 2021 at 17:49
It really depends on timing of the unlock compared to their processing.
October 29, 2021 at 20:07
But I have seen some people who unlocked their DS260 and KCC requested their Documents by considering The First Time. Can we say if you make simple changes no delay & big changes possible delay.
Thanks alot,
October 29, 2021 at 20:19
Again, it depends on timing as well as what you change.
October 29, 2021 at 12:22
Hi Simon,
I have completed and submitted DS 260 applications for me and my family on the date May 26th, 2021. Also, I have sent the documents on August 17th and again on September 6th. CN EU202217xx
I asked kcc when I will be scheduled for a visa interview? My number is current. Do I need to send additional documents?
They. Send me this…. What do you think about this is ok or is automatically send mail?
Thank you for your inquiry.
The Kentucky Consular Center has received your documents. Please allow time for processing of your documents. Documents are processed in numerical order, based on lottery rank number. Once KCC has processed your documents, we will let you know if anything is missing or if we have received everything needed.
Your forms have been received and are currently processing. Allow several weeks for processing. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Once the Kentucky Consular Center has finished processing your DS-260, you will receive an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing.
October 29, 2021 at 17:51
It’s a standard email. You can read it.
October 29, 2021 at 12:09
Hi Simon
How are you? Hope you are doing very well. I’m Taddy from Ethiopia and DV winner 2022.
Kindly request you to answer my question and thank you for your kindly help.
Please see below my question
Here in Ethiopia our Birth certificate and police certificate wrote by Amaharic ( officially language of Ethiopia) and with subtitle of English . Could we translate this certification or not to send document KCC ?
Thank you for your consideration
God bless you.
October 29, 2021 at 17:52
Technically they would not need that translated as you are interviewing in an embassy where that is the official language. BUT name the document clearly.
October 29, 2021 at 20:03
No need to translate. I have already submitted the same document and qualified.
November 1, 2021 at 06:39
Thank You !
Could you give me your contact needs to share information .
Thank You.

Hi Brit, thank you for your awesome work! I am working on police certificate PCC from China, unfortunately China does not issue PCC from their embassy. As I am not in China, I have to go through the agent in China and they are charging something like 500-700 USD per certificate per person, <quote from three agents<. Worse is they do not have centralized PCC issue like in other countries. Each province issues PCC and applicable for that province only. As I worked in three different cities ( two different period in one city) going back 20 years, I will need to make 4 plus for 2 my wife for her stay in two cities.
So the cost is coming out at least USD 3000-4200. This is also not guaranteed as the process is complicated and I am not in China and some older documents like work permit and temporary residence permit are obviously went to dust bin. What should I do ? Should I just request exemption explaining above reasons.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
Cheers
BK

Are you following the instructions on the reciprocity page?
travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/China.html
October 30, 2021 at 10:18
I did have a look at the site and it is not helpful. As I said I am not in China, and this has to be processed through Agent…..
November 2, 2021 at 23:39
Not helpful? It isn’t trying to be helpful. Those are the rules.
October 29, 2021 at 07:56
Hi Simon, am 2021 winner but since I submitted my ds260 to Kcc they haven’t replied or ask for any further documents. I send them multiple emails but they told me there’s a court case. Just wanted to found out if they will still process my documents.
October 29, 2021 at 20:18
No they won’t unless you are a plaintiff of one of the lawsuits.
October 28, 2021 at 19:21

I won dv lottery 2022 , and I am currently on F1 in the USA , I was wondering if I HAVE to get a lawyer(fees are too much) or if I can handle it on my own ? also how long does it take to get the greencard (hard copy) after submitting the AOS file (I 485 with everything) after my number is on the visa bulletin?
thank you
October 29, 2021 at 05:20
You can do it yourself.
Follow the guide linked from the first post in the thread below.

Good Day Simon
Thank you for the invaluable service you provide to all us DV hopefuls!
DV2022AF28K – I have applied for our unabridged/long format Birth and Marriage certificates but it takes ages here in South Africa and should only come through in 2 month or so. Do you suggest submitting short format docs to KCC and mention in the PDF that we will provide the long format at interview? If docs do come through in good time then submit them to KCC as well.
Many Thanks
Craig
October 29, 2021 at 03:02
No you should wait. Your number won’t be current for a long while anyway.
October 28, 2021 at 06:16
Hello Brit Simon,
My boss is applying for a working visa on my behalf I believe it to be a b1 öre b2 öre a p visa to go work for her in the United States for January. Do you know if I can still enter the green card lottery this year ore is this causing an issue. Thank you for your time.
October 29, 2021 at 03:01
No problem.
October 28, 2021 at 06:01
Hey brit,
Do we have to print all our ds260 pages and bring them to the interview?
October 29, 2021 at 03:00
No
October 27, 2021 at 19:11
Hello Sir,
Hope you are doing great!
I am DV winners from Afghanistan currently in India. I sent kcc email to transfer my interview location on 13 of October but I haven’t received any response yet. Do I have to email them again?
Thank you in advance!
October 27, 2021 at 19:12
I also forgot to say my case number is between 1400 and 1500 which i guess to be a good case number
October 29, 2021 at 02:59
No – they are weeks behind on emails. Patience.
October 27, 2021 at 15:09
Thank you for your inquiry.
In order to continue processing your case, all documents should be submitted as attachments to your email to ensure they are properly received. We ask that you use the following method to name and attach your files: • Your DV case number; • The full name of the applicant whose document you scanned; and • The document name or form number. For example: 2021AF00938653_John_Doe_Passport.pdf 2021AF00938653_Jane_Doe_Birth_Certificate.pdf Use your case number as the subject of the email. The maximum email size is 30MB. If the total size of your attachments is larger than 30MB, send multiple emails using your case number as the subject of each email. Please send your documents for KCC review only after you have collected all of the required documents for yourself and all accompanying family members. Send documents only to the [email protected] email address. Documents photographed or scanned with a mobile phone are acceptable, but every document must be fully legible. Illegible or incomplete documents must be re-submitted and will delay processing of your case.
Got this reply from KCC today, i am DV2021 Goh plaintiff. Are they asking for my documents?
thank u Brit
October 29, 2021 at 02:59
Yes
October 27, 2021 at 11:23
Dear Simon,
I thank you as I always did!!! I’ve almost seen all your videos and I got a lot of decisive information about DV process. What I didn’t understand is, what is the reason of the density rate being higher on the lower case numbers? If the draw process is random selection(3 bigger regions)
2022AF20***
October 29, 2021 at 02:57
I have explained that many times, and have video and article explanations you can use to understand.
Basically it is because some countries have far more entries than other countries and are “limited” after a certain point.
October 29, 2021 at 03:30
Thank you Sir! It is clear now
October 27, 2021 at 10:01
Hi Simon,
I am 2022AS6*** case number. I resubmitted my D260 in 3rd week of August and sent documents without a request. Since then I did not hear anything from KCC.
My question is, if I travel to US or any other country with my family (for studies or Visiting) , do I have to unlock D260 and change travelled countries section?
Thanks for your support.
Best Regards,
Asangi
October 29, 2021 at 02:52
No
October 27, 2021 at 06:15
Hi Brit, I have searched for the answer in instructions yet couldn’t really find a proper one. Seems everyone carelessly pass it.
While filling Entry DV Form there is a question in passport section “Country/Authority of issuance”
It wonders me because I am Iranian but I live in Malaysia and I got my passport from Iran embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In my passport it stated “Place of Issue: Kuala Lumpur” in first place I thought I should write down Malaysia but rethink and find myself in doubts.
Thinking that for DV-lottery my nationality should be important not which embassy in which country I received my passport from!
What should I write down on DV-Form? IRAN or MALAYSIA?!
It might sound silly to you but understand the feeling of doubt I have here.
Your guidance is much appreciated.
October 29, 2021 at 02:51
Iran.
October 27, 2021 at 04:58
Hello Britsimon, Quick update, Charlie Oppenheim will be retiring within the next few weeks
October 29, 2021 at 02:50
Yep.
October 27, 2021 at 03:06
Hi Simon, hope you are doing well.
A person who has no education, can entry for 2023 with a valid passport only without any education degree.
October 29, 2021 at 02:49
Anyone can enter, but if chosen a person must meet the education or work experience requirement.
October 26, 2021 at 18:45
Hello,
My case number is current on November (2022EU3XXX), I have submitted DS260 on July 27th, sent documents on August 19th (without being asked) but I still didn’t get anything from KCC.
I’m just currious – is it possible that when KCC will start working on DV2022 at a normal rate again they will just skip case numbers that are current right now and start working from whichever case numbers will be current starting from that moment only upwards (so the lower case numbers won’t be processed at all)? Or will they start working from the lowest case numbers no matter what?
Feeling extremely sad about the delay. Thank you!
October 29, 2021 at 02:44
They don’t skip cases. Be patient.
October 26, 2021 at 18:25
My brother has an approved visa from consulate as a DV2021 applicant. As known some DV2020 applicants, who had received visas, were not able enter to the United States due to the travel ban (Covid19), and their visas had expired. Thus, could my friend fill new application for DV2023 entry?
October 29, 2021 at 02:42
He could, but that is unnecessary. He should simply make plans to travel as there are no restrictions that stop him from doing so.
October 26, 2021 at 15:33
Hello Brit
I lived 5 different countries and got five police records. Can I make different pdf documents for each and at the end of the file name of each add the country name. Is it problem because the file name structure will be a little different.
2022EU000XXXX_name_surname_police_certificate_country.pdf
I mean like above.
Thanks in advance.
October 29, 2021 at 02:39
That’s OK
October 26, 2021 at 15:24
Hi Mr. Simon. As I gather from lawsuit information, and from the forum, it seems that 2022 will be delayed. Could there be another lawsuit for 2022 as well?
October 29, 2021 at 02:39
Probably, but it can’t be filed too soon. Some harm has to be demonstrated.
October 26, 2021 at 11:52

October 29, 2021 at 02:35
yI don’t have a specific suggestion on embassies. Do what you think is best.
Your case number is high. It will be MONTHS before you are ready to be scheduled so be patient.
October 26, 2021 at 10:06
Hello Mr. Simon, I hope you are doing well, I want to ask about the J-1 \ J-2 Visa I heard that if you won the DV lottery you will have to return to your country for 2 years because you broke a condition in the J visa is this true?. what I heard that a person who have this visa got married to a us citizen then they told him you have to return for two years. can you help me decide to apply or not?
October 29, 2021 at 02:32
Some J visas are issued with a requirement to spend 2 years at home. You should know if you have that requirement or not.
October 26, 2021 at 08:28
Hello.. There is a problem in issuing passports in Syria…Since the 7th month, there are no passports…Is there a solution to this problem, knowing that my country is not communist…I am talking about the dv entry…All Syrians face this problem…please help us…thx
October 29, 2021 at 02:31
You can decide whether to enter and deal with the explanation later, or simply don’t enter.
I cannot say for certain if they will accept the circumstances as an excuse.
October 26, 2021 at 06:23
Hello
If I apply for dv 2023 lottory and my two babies doesn’t have passport, can I put my passport number for them?
Thanx
October 29, 2021 at 02:30
You are not asked for passport numbers for any derivatives in the entry.
October 26, 2021 at 04:19
Hi y’ll I would like to know how long does it take kcc to open the case once requested mine it’s been 2wks no response.
October 28, 2021 at 16:06
It takes 5 minutes to unlock, but unfortunately they are several weeks behind in answering emails. So – patience.
October 25, 2021 at 22:57
Hi Simon
I am a DV2019 winner with everything activated,
I was due to move in May 2020 but COVID put a halt to that.
What is your knowledge of flying in to the US without being there since July 2019?
I was more specifically interested about dealings with customs officers and the like.
I have evidence to show I was due to move, however personal circumstances stopped me from going there at the time.
With border restrictions set to ease from Australia shortly I was looking to give it a go.
Cheers
October 28, 2021 at 16:04
You have been out of the country too long. You should file an SB-1 application with your local embassy to get permission to enter the USA. The proof you have will be useful for that process.
October 25, 2021 at 22:09
Greetings from Russia. My parents are the DV lottery winners for the year 2022. Their case number is 2022EU000043xx. Due to the fact that they’ve been pondering whether to proceed with the process and move to the US ever since they found out that they had been picked, they did not file the form DS 260 or collect any necessary documents for the KCC. Basically, they haven’t done anything to initiate the process. Therefore, I just wanted to clarify whether it’s too late to begin the process. Given that, based on the visa bulletin, this case number is set to become current in November, would the KCC reject such a belated application and just move on to evaluate higher case numbers? Could you please give me a rough approximation of the DS 260 application deadline in their specific case? I was told that they have all the time up to the summer of 2022 to gather all the docs, submit the application and still theoretically get an interview. Thanks in advance.
October 28, 2021 at 16:02
There is no specific deadline and they are not too late. However, I would not recommend waiting until next summer!
October 25, 2021 at 19:00
Hi there Simon. I’ve been looking through some of your videos and trying to do a bit more research about the interview process itself. I see that they call you up initially to provide your documents and then ask you to wait to be called. My question is, when you actually provide these documents initially, do you give them all the documents you came with, both original and photocopies, or just some of them. I’m just trying to figure out how I will organise my documents to take with me.
October 28, 2021 at 15:59
You give them “the basic” documents as listed in the instructions – other supporting documents may be useful later but won’t be collected at the first stage. Make sure you get your originals back.
October 25, 2021 at 16:56
Hello Brit
I took my police certificate from another country. The translation is noterized. So the noter wrote on the document that I certify the translator is competent to translate. This is not written by the translator.
Is that ok? Or do I have to make the translations again.
Thanks in advance
October 28, 2021 at 15:53
It should be OK
October 25, 2021 at 14:35
Hi Brit,
Im dv lottery winner 2021. I came to Usa with my husband and son. We made payment of immigration fee before entering Usa. The status of green card from received immigration fee changed to card is being produced for two of us, wheres status for my husband is still received payment. What should I need to do?
October 28, 2021 at 15:52
Just wait. It can take a while for the cards to arrive.
October 28, 2021 at 19:32
The problem is why not cards arrived at the same time for 3 of us..but just for 2
October 29, 2021 at 05:18
Doesn’t matter.
October 25, 2021 at 14:04
Hello Brit,
I have a question regarding not able to get to the interview for Green Card. My husband and I completed the DS260 paper work. When I spoke with you a while back in June/July we realized the paperwork that was emailed to us from the USCIS phone support was for an application outside of the US. We have been living in the US since 2019 on an E2 visas. So we could either try to complete the new paperwork and hope it would go through before Sept 2021 or fly to Australia for the interview. There were too many uncertainties with Covid quarantine, interview dates, cost etc, and 6 weeks at least away from US and commitments/stressors at the time. So we didn’t know what to do and it lapsed. My number was current end of Sept. 2021.
Is there anyway of salvaging our green card opportunity?
Can I re-apply and will if so will the previous application affect a subsequent application?
Many thanks for any suggestions here.
October 28, 2021 at 08:26
Linda, guessing your 2021.
If you were living in the US, you should have filed for an Adjustment of Status.
Sydney consulate was closed from the end of June so you wouldn’t have been able to get an interview, believe me, mine was cancelled first week July.
The only opportunity you have now is if you were a plaintiff on a lawsuit, no visas were preserved past the fiscal year.
October 28, 2021 at 08:26
You can re apply for the lottery
October 28, 2021 at 15:47
You asked me about this in May. It was clear you were ruining your own chance and I made that very clear in my responses and ave you clear guidance on what to do. I wish you had listened to me then.
britsimonsays.com/ask-questions/comment-page-599/#comment-272907
You can enter DV2023 and have the same chance of selection as anyone else in your region. Your previous win offers no benefit now. If you are selected again, for goodness sake don’t ask lawyers about how to process your case.
October 25, 2021 at 12:22
Hi Mr Brit.
Can we use the same email for more than one applicant in DV2023
October 28, 2021 at 15:40
Yes
October 25, 2021 at 01:51
Hi Simon, thanks for support to those who have problems on green card issue. My case number is 2022EU4xxx. I unlocked my ds-260 form because of absent information on ds-260 form. KCC unlocked it and I sent it back. Location of interview as country is Turkey. I have not gotten Document Request yet and I don’t send it because of not being asked.. Right now I have to go to Bahrain for job request with my family for a long duration. 1. Should I unlock ds-260 form again in order to make an interview in Bahrain embassy, or just email the kcc about my changing embassy interview.
2. Or what would be the best direction for me to do so…
Thank you in deed.
October 25, 2021 at 01:59
If you are moving it makes sense to update your DS260 so that the embassy will be changed.
October 25, 2021 at 01:14
Hello Simon
How are you?
When you go to the consulate for your interview, do you need your documents to be signed by a Justice of the Peace?
Thanks for your help with my questions
From
Robin
October 25, 2021 at 01:59
Normally no, but you should check the country specific instructions.
October 25, 2021 at 11:02
Hello Mr Britsimon
I trust you are doing great.
During the submission of my DS 260 application, I made a mistake by swapping my present address to my previous address, please I need your counsel
1. What should I do?
2. Does it has any impact on or my application? if so should I send an email to KCC to unlock my application?
October 27, 2021 at 13:42
Hi Simon
Dv 2021. Our flight is scheduled on the 1st of November 2021. Wish to know, with the new covid 19 restriction on travellers:
1) are we obliged to take covid 19 vaccine?
October 29, 2021 at 02:58
Get it.
October 28, 2021 at 15:38
Unlock and correct.
October 24, 2021 at 23:31
Hey brit
Why is dv2022 being delayed
October 25, 2021 at 00:40
Because KCC spent an additional 2 to 3 months working on DV2021.
Because the Tiered prioritization is still in effect.

Mr. BritSimon I want to thank you for your service. I have a question about the Police Certificates. I remember watching your YouTube video about possibly needing two. Here is the background to my question. I lived in the US for 5 years while attending University (Student Visa). I have since moved back to my Country of birth 13 years now. I would like to know, do I need a Police Certificate from the City/State where I attended University, Or will the Police Certificate from my Country of birth where I live now will suffice?

You don’t need police certs for the USA (as explained in the instructions you should read).

Hi Simon,
I have won DV2021 and already got my immigrant visa. I am planning to travel to us soon in order to proceed with green card application. However, I will have to travel back after 2 weeks because currently I am not able to move in to the us fully. I will be able to move there a year later from my first visit.
Will this result in losing my green card even though probably it will take 4 months to receive the card?
I heard about “green card abandonment”, can somebody be considered to abandon his green card even within 1 year after receiving it? or usually they check it 2 or 3 years after receiving the green card?

Hello Simon, good afternoon, my question is dv2020, we are applicants, we are Venezuelans and we apply for tps, you ask me, could we make a change of status? Are you here in the USA?
October 29, 2021 at 02:45
I don’t believe DV2020 cases will be process via AOS when processing restarts, but it is too soon to know for sure.

Hi Simon,
2022AF3k here (current in November) I got Document Request email on 12aug, submitted them 24aug. On 8oct I got « further documents requested email » requesting an explanation as to why I have a different passport than the one I entered with, although I had attached both passports and it is clear that I changed it because the old one expired.
So I attached an explanation as a PDF and resent all the other documents. But haven’t heard anything.
Now since I got the FDR email it means that they had gotten to my number, I should still remain on top of the list when I resent them. Why do you think it is taking too long to confirm the documents?
Thanks

Hello Simon – I hope all is well with you. I have a family member (DV lottery 2022 visa holder) traveling from Austria to San Francisco late Oct. Can they enter the U.S. given all these travel restrictions in place? I tried contacting DoS on this but no luck so far.
October 24, 2021 at 18:26
There is no restriction in that scenario.

Hey Brit, I’m an applicant of DV2020 who had finished her interview and my visa was issued but unfortunately during the wait for it to be sent that’s when the covid outbreak came in last year in march! Today I’ve checked on my case amd it’s status reads refused! That the US consular adjudicated and refused our visa application! And the case is at administrative process! Well i think that happened because my spouse i did the interview with had ever applied for visa and denied and he was married to a different partner by then. Should I hav hope of my case still getting considered since am the actual winner or my husband’s background can affect me too? Please guide me through this

DV2020 ended 1 year ago. Are you sure you mean DV2020?
If your case was on AP and you start paying attention there is a chance you could resurect your case if you act fast when the Gomez lawsuit cases start getting processed. Read about that lawsuit and be ready to take action in a few weeks time. Pay attention!

Hello Simon
Is it correct to write the start and end date of the last year of high school in the DS 260 form? Or should the start and end dates of high school be written in full?
October 29, 2021 at 20:17
Doesn’t matter. Just use some judgement.

You should not go to the USA to do AOS.
Send your documents. https://britsimonsays.com/document-procedure-modification/

Hello Simon
I was watching your YouTube video yesterday, where you mentioned that KCC is processing the DS-260 on the submission date order and processing the documents in case number order.
My question here, my case 2022AS22xx, what are the benefits of such a small number if the KCC will review my DS-260 after all those who sent the DS-260 so early regardless of their Case number low or high.
And what are the benefits of reviewing documents in the case number order if KCC process the DS-260 based on the date of submission..?? This mean the document will now be reviewed till DS-260 process has been completed.
October 24, 2021 at 18:19
DS260s are processed by date received. So that will delay some people even with low case numbers.

Hi simon
Sir, I was watching the video you posted yesterday. You mention that DS260 processed based on submission date. My question is I have submitted my Ds260 on May 15 but unlock and resubmitted on August 12.
So which submission date will be taken by KCC to process my DS260?
Thank again sir.
