Hi Simon,
I’m one of the selectee for DV2023 in Oceania region and my case number is 720. Would you be able to indicate roughly what month can i be scheduled for interview. Thanks
August 5, 2022 at 15:21
Early next year.

Thanks mate

Hi Brit, Thanks in advance. I am the winner of DV23. I am from Azerbaijan. I am living in Poland now. I am a master student here. When I registered for the DV entry I wrote my current address in Poland. So when I fill the DS form I choose Tbilisi ( Georgia) for the interview. because the Azerbaijani DV winners interview is scheduled in Tbilisi. although there was a question on the form asking if you want to be interviewed in Warsaw, and I chose no and mentioned Tbilisi.
1) Will my changing embassy in DS form cause delay for interview scheduling?
2) Where will my interview be? Tbilisi or Warsaw?
3) Should I send the email informing KCC that I have already changed my interview location in my DS form?
Best Regards,
Jalil
August 5, 2022 at 15:23
1. No
2. Poland. They base it on where you live.
3. If there is a strong reason to do that, yes.
August 13, 2022 at 18:58
Hi Brit again, Thanks for your reply.
Embassy in Warsaw works very slowly because it gives interviews to DV winners of other countries (Russia and Ukraine), so I chose Tbilisi in DS form. my case number is 2023EU19K.
1) What do you think, will they schedule an interview at the embassy in Warsaw, or is there very little chance?
if the chance is very small, I will go to Azerbaijan in September, stay there for 2 months and then return to Poland.
2)Do you think I should unlock the DS and change the current address in order to be interviewed in Tbilisi? or is there no need for it?
Thanks in advance,
Jalil
August 13, 2022 at 19:11
They will schedule your interview based on where you live. As for whether Warsaw will be a good embassy or not – well I can’t predict what will happen in the next few months.

Hi Brit’s the quality of support are good but when my interview
August 4, 2022 at 10:01
Hello Brit. I wanted to ask about visa allocation, I’m a plaintiff with Curtis and almost all plaintiffs are in AV status which means visa has been allocated to the case number, so shouldn’t that mean that they have reserved a visa for that case number and they must interview the person, or will they just reallocate the visa to someone else?
August 5, 2022 at 15:25
In fact, despite what the government have said, it is obvious that all AV cases cannot have visas allocated (there are far more AV status cases than visas). They allocate the visas when scheduling the interviews.
August 8, 2022 at 14:00
Hi Simon, Just finished watching your live Chat with Jesse and he was mentioning about the revelations from the lawsuits that the KCC was scheduling interviews based on the AV date. In that case, what determines the AV date for a particular case?
August 8, 2022 at 23:20
It is essentially the DQ date, but with some additional time for when KCC take a DQ case and assign it to an embassy queue.

Dear Simon,
My name is Getamesay and I was lucky enough to be randomly selected for the 2023 Diversity Visa program. I am currently living in Ethiopia. My question is this. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I found it very difficult to log in to my DS 260 account. Upon notifying the KCC, they responded back telling me that my date of birth details are wrong and that they could not provide me with that information. Is there any possible way for me to go around this situation? any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot

Hi there ! My husband won DV2023. We’ve submitted our DS260 on June 2022. We had a newborn in July 2022, so we unlock our DS260.
They’re expecting a number passport for our son, but it takes weeks/months to get it. Does it mean that our DS260 cannot be completed until we receive his passport ?
Regarding our case number, we’re supposed to be interviewed before the end of the year 2022.
Btw, our son was born in Canada, so he is a Canadian (parents are French- 2023EU6XXX). Can he be eligible ?
Thanks a lot !
August 5, 2022 at 15:28
Number questions please.
1. You do not have to wait. Use the passport number from one of the parents.
2. Your son will be charged to France.

The quality of support is and how can you help me course I want to sent my documents
August 7, 2022 at 05:07
Hi Brit.
My job occupancy is IT Solution Architect. I dont find it in the O’Neil job listing page refered by US Govt.
Can the CO at the time of interview, use common sense to understand that Solutions Architect is successor of Software Developer in career path, and accept the work experience?
August 7, 2022 at 20:23
If you don’t meet the education requirement, you would be wise to do the prep work for the CO rather than assuming they have common sense. They are not in IT, so understanding the SA role will not be obvious.

Hi Brit
I’m a 2022 OC winner. Had my interview 6th July, was put in AP due to medicals not being there at time of interview. They arrived a couple of days later.
Was put in Ready status 21st July. Then an update again the Ceac data shows on 26th July but still in ready.
Asked Consulate if they need anything more from me and how my case was going and they said it’s in adjudication(AP) and the consulate officer will send your passports to us when completed.
Is there anything I can do. Going on a month just about now.
I assume my visas are allocated to me still but as I’m aware OC could hit the limit soon.
No other issues at the interview etc.
Thanks
James
August 5, 2022 at 15:31
Your visas will have been reallocated at the end of July. So, once your AP is cleared, they will need to ask KCC for reallocation of visas. That can add a little time, and of course risk.
August 8, 2022 at 18:04
Hi Brit,
Since visa bulletins are released and my case number is below 1000..shall I download the latest I -134 form and start filling?
2. Can one primary applicant have two sponsors?
3.For poverty guidelines for a number of person is it annual or monthly income?
4. What are the other documents that the sponsor needs to send along with I -134 form?
5.Is it okay if the sponsor sends form directly to the embassy or is it a must have a copy with us?
Thank you
August 8, 2022 at 23:29
1. No – wait for the 2NL
2. No
3. The numbers are annual.
4. 1040/W2, Payslips and photo ID
5. You carry it to the embassy, and provide it only if asked.

Hi Brit.
Thanks for all your help on the blog. I hope you had a super holiday in Spain.
My wife is a DV23 winner AF9xxx (South Africa)
I have 2 questions that I need some help with. The first relates to proof of name change and the second to proof of funds (I-134).
1) My wife has been married before. When she got married she changed her maiden name to the “new” surname and when she got divorced, she changed her “new” surname back to her maiden name. We are married now and she has kept her maiden name.
When she changed her surname back to her maiden name it was done over the counter at the governmental office. When she went back and asked for proof of name change the office said that there is no such proof that they can print and that the only thing that they can see is her current name and surname, which is correct. If we can’t get proof of name change from the governmental office, is there anything else that would suffice?
All her documents (birth certificate, PCC, passport, ID, new marriage certificate, qualifications etc) are in her maiden name. However, her divorce papers state her old marriage surname on the court order.
Would we require proof of name change for her and if so what do you think would suffice? Seeing that we won’t be able to get something like this from the governmental office.
2) I see that with the proof of funds that there is an additional requirement to fill out the I-134. Do all DV winners require a sponsor to fill out an I-134 or would proof of own funds be sufficient? We have about $60k USD in liquid assets (cash and shares) that we can prove, would this be enough for 2 people or would we still need an I-134 to be filled out by a US sponsor?
Thanks again for all your assistance on the blog.
August 5, 2022 at 15:32
I think I answered both these questions a few minutes ago.
August 5, 2022 at 03:58
Hi Simon,
You may recall we were a DV2022 winner and were approved our g/cards from the Sydney Consulate in Jul 22.
I have a few questions regarding the following please:
1. We are planning to cross the border in late Nov 22 to activate. I understand you have 12mths to move from that date? Is that correct? How strict is this 12mth rule / period as we would like our kids to finish off the school year here next year before moving which will only be 2 weeks after the 12mth cut off ie. 2nd week of Dec 23.
2. Or is it as simple as one of us moving over first (ie. before 12mth cut off) and setting up so the rest of the family can come over. Would a one way ticket prove to the border that we have moved permanently although slightly longer than the 12mth cut off?
3. Or are we taking a gamble / risk moving after the 12mth cut off?
Look forward to your insights.
Regards,
Sharlene
August 5, 2022 at 16:10
1. Strict. Do another trip in between to extend that time a bit.
2. Each person must abide by the rule.
3. See 1.
August 5, 2022 at 22:41
Thanks for your valuable insights as always.
Simon.
August 5, 2022 at 13:48
Hello Sir ,
Can you do a video on documents and requirements of the sponsor? Also when should I get my sponsor’s relevant documents? should I wait till I get my interview slot since my case number is high(AS22***)
Please advice. Thanks a lot
August 5, 2022 at 16:11
I just created a video a few weeks ago about completing the I-134 – take a look at that.
You don’t get the I-134 until you get the interview notification (2NL)
August 7, 2022 at 06:00
Hi Simon, How do the applicants get to know whether their DS260 was processed? Does KCC send an e-mail ones the DS260 is processed or is there any other way to check the status of the DS260?
August 7, 2022 at 20:25
They send an email and you can also email them.
August 5, 2022 at 16:57
Please refer Mr. Simon’s video about I-134. That is an important guide.
August 5, 2022 at 14:32

Hi Brit
South African DV22 winner here set to arrive in US for the first time Dec 1. Just before my interview was granted I reunited with my ex girlfriend. I went for the interview and was granted the Visa. We have decided to get married before coming to the States. She is on an EU passport so eligible for ESTA visa.
Currently the plan is to get married in South Africa, she will come with me on a tourist visa and stay for 90 days. As soon as I am settled I will apply for her Green Card. She will leave after 90 days and we do consular processing.
1. Is this the smart way to do it?
2. Is it ok for her to accompany me on a tourist visa?
3. Is AOS an option? given that F2A is current it seems like there may be a shorter wait time.
4. If yes to 3 – Is employment authorization possible with AOS in this case?
August 5, 2022 at 20:24
Yours will be an I-130 – I don’t comment much about that process, but you should know it will take a long time.
August 5, 2022 at 16:57
Hi Brit,
I activated and have been out of the country less than 180 days to care of stuff. I will reenter just shy of 180 days with all my stuff.
Now upon activation I gave an address of a friend in Florida. Now when I come back I am planning on staying with another friend in a different city in Florida until I find an own apartment.
1) Is it wise to update the address with USCIS online already now or better after reentering
* I read in a forum that one should always maintain the address while abroad. So does changing it now while abroad cause issues?
2) I am purchasing health insurance with an effective date on my scheduled arrival. There I want to use the new address, hence this is why I thought it might be better to change it with USCIS beforehand.
Thank you for your advice!!!
August 5, 2022 at 20:20
You use the online address change form to let USCIS know of your address change.
August 5, 2022 at 17:53
Dear Simon,
I hope you are doing well, your videos are really helpful. I would like to ask for some professional help with my dv case.
I was selected for further processing this year may, so DV2023.
Im currently a University student – part time ( also having a great full time job ), graduating with masters in 2023 Jan.
On my ds 260, I cant really reflect it – only the completed one – which is my BSC. ( BSC was added upon the initial form when entering the lottery. ) – Shall I Try to add it somehow? – I cant select the graduation date (as it is a future date, giving me error) , only dates until today.
It seems that I will be able to get a stable job, at a nice employer, at about May-Jun 2023.
My question would be: When would you submit your DS, talking about Hungary part of EU, and case number of somewhere around 7700. (The DS is not yet submitted as of today) Am I not late already?
Im a little worried, if I do too soon, I might miss my job opportunity, and If I do too late, I might miss the DV opportunity.
I want to aim for a safe timing. Currently I’m reading every possible DV Bulletin data, and I already have a feeling when to do it, considering processing times, but your experience might just give me an obvious answer.
I sincerely hope that you can give me some nice advice.
Have a wonderful day 🙂
August 5, 2022 at 20:19
You are misunderstanding the process. You should submit your DS260 now. It will then be processed and you would be scheduled once current.
Regarding the masters, no need to list that, except as your current occupation.
August 5, 2022 at 21:02
Thank you for the clarification.
I thought that I have an influence on timing by submitting DS not straight away – and then, if my number was within the current range, then I can send to process and schedule. It seems that I mixed it up badly. – But then my case number already set the interview date basically – If i get it right.
(Just in theory, for my curiousity, if your case number was current, and your DS was not submitted, then you basically lost the DV? or you might end up having to wait too long? do they “go back” with some numbers?)
Do you maybe have some tips to have the timeline extended, in case i have an early interview (early for me)?
( I will finalize and submit in a few hours )
Thank you once again! – it was helpful
August 6, 2022 at 17:18
You don’t lose you place forever if they go past your case number, but delaying submission of your ds260 will cause delays to your case. You can’t extend the validity of the visa, but you can enter the USA to activate your status and then leave again (immediately if you want) for up to 12 months.
August 5, 2022 at 22:06
Quick question.
As far as translating documents into English goes, must the passport, when I bring a photo copy of the biometric page to the interview, also be translated into English? are isn’t it necessary for passports?
August 6, 2022 at 17:19
Not necessary.
August 6, 2022 at 00:37
Cn no. 2023AS00009k
I submitted the ds260 form with my old passport which was valid till then.now i renewed my passport and i already got my new passport on my hand.so my question is do i have to unlock ds260 and update my passport number or take both old and new passport at the interview and explain there?i think there is a lot time left till interview as for my case number.
August 6, 2022 at 17:22
You have months to wait because of your number, but yes you can take old and new to the interview if you want.
August 6, 2022 at 11:38
Hello Brit. I am 2022 dv winner from Ghana and still waiting for my interview date but I have some few questions.
1. I have a new baby two weeks ago can add him to my ds 260?
2. And if so he doesn’t have passport let alone passport number so what can I do so that this child will be part of the family? Thank you?
August 6, 2022 at 17:25
The year is almost over and Accra have probably taken all the cases they intend to interview in DV2022. They did a lousy job, ignoring many cases. So – to be perfectly frank, you probably don’t need to add your child, because you won’t get an interview. I’m sorry to be so blunt, but I prefer to be clear.
August 6, 2022 at 17:34
Thank you Brit
August 6, 2022 at 11:52
Hi Simon,
Is there any way for us to know roughly how many cases in total are going to be allocated for each embassy for DV 2023?
August 6, 2022 at 17:24
It’s an odd question. The embassies take cases based on who lives locally – so you can look at country selectee numbers to see where the selectees are from.
August 6, 2022 at 18:16
Sorry, I did not quite get your answer. The reason for me to ask this question is because our chargeable country is Sri Lanka and our interview country is UAE. So, I was wondering if there’s a way for us to get to know around how many cases are before us which will be allocated to Abu Dhabi embassy.
Our Case number is 2023AS6xxx
Thank you
August 6, 2022 at 19:44
Many variables for that – so no.
August 6, 2022 at 11:53
Hello Simon, I hope you are doing well! I am a DV22 selectee from Morocco with a case number of 45K , I still haven’t received a 2NL (and I probably won’t) , I have a booked / paid a trip to Istanbul with a travel agency for the month of September, I’m just wondering if “in case I received a 2NL” would that travel outside of morocco put me in trouble or not since I won’t have time to update my DS260 and add my travel there (or should I just not travel and avoid any trouble)? thank you
August 6, 2022 at 18:12
It would not be a problem if the miracle of getting a 2NL actually happened. So – go ahead and enjoy your trip.
August 6, 2022 at 17:43
i submitted the children ds260 forms before you gave me this advice, is it good to request unlock their forms and only leave the principal applicant submitted?
August 6, 2022 at 18:08
It won’t matter.
August 6, 2022 at 17:44
Hi Brit , my brother won a visa lottery 2021-September 2022 and still haven’t receive an interview date in Ghana ,, when is he going to be interview.
August 6, 2022 at 18:09
He probably won’t be interviewed. Accra embassy have accepted very few cases for interview, and appear to have taken their final batch of cases for September.
August 7, 2022 at 07:17
With case number 2022AF00031xxx,,??
August 7, 2022 at 20:26
It’s not a question of the case number really. The embassy has decided to let everyone down.
August 6, 2022 at 17:53
Hi Brit. Everything is good and I’m ready for the scheduled interview.
One question, my police certificate has one letter mistake with all the rest of documents including passport, BC. My name in passport is Abdulselam but in PC its Abdulsalam. Would it be an issue?
August 6, 2022 at 18:09
No
August 6, 2022 at 18:36
Hello dear Brett Simon
I am from Dv 2023 and I have a problem with block Ds260 and I contacted kcc and they sent me that they will send my information to the appropriate department
Now, a month and 10 days have passed, and the consulate has not contacted me to make an appointment. Is this because of the slow work of the KCC, or because of the consulate’s response to the KCC’s instructions?
Thank you
August 6, 2022 at 19:47
It always takes a long time – but I am not sure where the slowness exists in the process.
August 6, 2022 at 18:58
Dear BrithSimon,
I watched several videos which you have published and got a fair understanding about the this VISA process. Much appreciated your hard work which truly gives depth knowledge about the the DV lottery . Would like to get your answers to the following questions:
I am from Sri Lanka, my case No is 2023AS00011xxx. I came to the UK with my husband and 2nd daughter. i study my postgraduate degree in the UK. We requested the interview in London. My elder daughter is in Sri Lanka and therefore- requested her interview in Sri Lanka.
Will it be a problem for her to attend the interview in Sri Lanka and what is the best way to do it ?
Is my case number a good number ?
Thanks
August 6, 2022 at 19:48
Your daughter should interview with you in London.
The case number is OK, but you will wait until well into next year.
August 6, 2022 at 19:08
Hello Simon, I’m from Iran my case number is about 12000, I have a question, when I was registering for the lottery 2023, in the study section I filled out the master and after I won the lottery 2023 in the ds-260 form I filled out the bachelor’s degree because I could not get my master degree physically, because it has needed more process time
Do I need to unlock it?
August 6, 2022 at 19:48
No
August 15, 2022 at 11:04
Does it make any problems at interview ?
Does It cause to visa Rejection ?
August 22, 2022 at 03:53
No
August 6, 2022 at 20:21
Hello sir I’m a full fan of your following you from YouTube I’m form Sierra Leone and dv lottery 2022 winner and I have already get my visa.and I’m now ready to move to the US but I have something that I would like you to clarify for me on my visa stamp under annotation they say “class b req. ATN of usphs at poe” those that mean that there is a chance of me not allowed entry? Also is their any issue if I travel to the US without paying for my green card at the uscis because I’m planning to pay after I get in to the US. Thank you very much I’m looking forward to your response.
August 6, 2022 at 20:38
It’s not a problem. They may require a doctors visit after entry. They will tell you at the POE.
You can pay before or after you enter. Doesn’t matter which.
August 6, 2022 at 21:15
Would you please make me clear on a case:
Someone has won the dv lottery with passport that has wrong date of birth although the passport was genuinely received from the government body. Due to printing error, the date of birth on passport mismatched with the original date of birth.
The date of birth on :
Passport : (4/5/1982)
Academic certificates : (4/5/1985)
Birth certificate : (4/5/1985)
How is he/she going to process the DS 260 form?
Is it okay to process the DS 260 with the same passport providing supporting documents to prove the identity of person being same or should he/she process the DS 260 with new passport?
Please advise,
Thank you
August 7, 2022 at 17:00
That person should get the passport corrected. Personally, I would do that before filing the DS260.

DMV appointments are booked far out

Hi Simon,
Thank you for the help you provide to thousands of applicants each year. I’ve an interview soon, and I’m confused by some of the information regarding translation of documents.
First of all, when I wrote to the embassy asking if I needed a Certificate of Accuracy from a translating agency or if the stap of being ISO certified was enough, I was said that they need sworn translations (exact words they repplied). This doesn’t seem quite aligned with what I had heard from you and many other sources, and was surprising.
I also thought that documents should be presented either in English or in the local language. Yet, I see that some embassies (see link below) request Original marriage certificate + English translation. I knew this certificate was needed, but why shall we translate it if the original is in the local language?
Source: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/MDD-Madrid.html#ExternalPopup
“If you are married: Your original marriage certificate, English translation, and a photocopy”
August 7, 2022 at 17:02
In Madrid, you do not need a translation for a document presented in Spanish.
August 7, 2022 at 22:00
That’s what I thought, but have you país a look to the link I provided? It’s quite straightforward the sentence, and It doesn’t mention that this is only for marriage certificates in a language that isn’t english or the local language.
“If you are married: Your original marriage certificate, English translation, and a photocopy”.
About sworn translations, any coments?
August 7, 2022 at 22:21
Again. You don’t need the translation. Email the embassy to confirm if you like, and provide them with the official instructions if needed.
August 6, 2022 at 22:24
Hi Brit
Just following on from my question the other day about being in AP in OC for the past 4 weeks due to medicals not being there on the day of interview nothing else was needed and they arrived 2 days later.
I have sent them our desired days to to travel to the US and only got a generic response basically from the person who answers emails and can’t see our case last Tuesday.
Is there any way to hurrying them along as things are getting tight especially after watching your last YouTube video.
Thanks
James

I’m dv 2023 winner, Af13***, I submitted my dear 260 in May, not fully understood the process. My question is I would like to know,
1. I have master’s degree but I did 1st degree with matured application because i did not pass mathematics in high school.
I know I qualify with work experience because I’m now a branch manager of a banking institution.Do you suggest I unlock the ds 260 and make the corrections of changing the educatiinal qualifications and use work experience?
. I have already unlock once to correct my daughter’s date of birth.
I would also want if I can let know at the time of the interview that I qualify with work experience m
Please kindly clarify for me.
Thank you

You probably don’t need to change your DS260 if you have already given an accurate listing of the education back to age 12. At the interview, the CO will also try to use education to qualify the case (because it’s easier), and if that cannot work, then they look into work experience. Just make sure you are prepared for both methods, including checking the O*Net classification. Read more about that below.

Hi Simon.
Thank you very much for the useful information. For dv2023 OC13XX when can we roughly expect an interview?
Thanks!
Sara

Sara, I think I answered you on my live – sometime around March to April would be my guess.

Hay britsimon ,
It’s sedi , I tried to contact you from your email , I understand your workload so I thought better to ask you here
I have a question regarding my case,
My interview was 1st of March and I am still in AP ,
1) my medical results is going to be expired in 14 August, do you suggest I book a new appointment and renew the exam?
(I asked embassy they replied they will let me know if needed but medical center appointment here in Greece are for two weeks and results will be sent to embassy after 2 weeks , and for sure the person who replied to my email did not bother thinking about this!)
2) is there anything I can do to push for the results of AP rather then praying to Greek Gods?
All the best
Sedi

1. I think it would be smart to book the medical. The downside is you will spend more money, but you will probably save some headaches later. There is a chance all visas will be used, so you don’t want any delay.
2. Unfortunately, no. I would expect them to finish the AP this month (5 full months of delay is typically enough), but there is no way to be certain, and no way to speed up your case. The lawyers (particularly Curtis) would suggest an individual mandamus, but those are very expensive and cannot guarantee action.

hello mr simmons
I am a dv2022 winner and I got married to my boyfriend of four years , we got called on the 28th of august
my question is :
1- Do we need to prove if our marriage is genuine , like joint bank accounts or mortgage ? because we’re still students and our bank accounts are separate because our parents are sending us money ?
2- Do we have to prove that we have a sponsor ?
3- is our financial status important ?
4- we also signed this agreement on ” seperate mortgage ” , it is stated in our marriage certificat , do you think it’s going to cause problem for us ?
5- we also had a very small ceremony with only our families members because we re planning on having a big wedding whenwe are financially independant ?
please mr simmons , from all the cases you witnessed , help us with your point of view and what should we prepare ourselves to
thank you so much
August 11, 2022 at 00:25
please mr brit can I answer me , sorry for misspelling your name
August 12, 2022 at 02:41
1. Yes, do what you can to prove the relationship is real.
2. That would be wise.
3. It can be a factor for concern (an I-134 is the best way to alleviate that concern).
4. I don’t know.
5. Again, they will be looking for evidence that the marriage is real.

Hi Brit,
Thank you for your support. I have a question.
1. Now I am working in Oman . For my last 5 year travel history do I have to mention my present country ? I have already entered Oman address as Present Address.
Please advise.
Thank you.
August 7, 2022 at 22:22
No
August 7, 2022 at 20:49
Hi Brit,
Thank you for your support.
If I want to unlock my and my spouse’s DS260 forms, can I mention that in a one mail. or do I have to send separate mails.
Thank you
August 7, 2022 at 22:22
You might achieve that in one VERY CLEAR email. Try – and see what happens.

Dear Simon,
My case# 2022AS305XX and I have selected US embassy in Riyadh for my Visa interview. Currently US embassy in Riyadh is serving the case AS18000 and below. Do you think they will call me too before end of September?
August 7, 2022 at 22:21
I don’t know.
August 8, 2022 at 07:41
I wish you a beautiful morning
I have a query about a DV lottery case that happened to me, and from your experience, I need an explanation
I am one of the winners of DV2022. When I submitted the application for participation on 28/10/2020, one of my daughters was 20 years and 9 months old. When winning, she became 21 years and 4 months old.
After winning, I submitted an application for DS-260, including my daughter, and her name was present in the application even in the Embassy interview letter .
At the interview at Amman Embassy 1 week ago , I was informed that the laws of the DV lottery are not heard at the age of 21 when winning and not when submitting an application..
My question to you is is this true??
August 8, 2022 at 23:15
Children are covered by the CSPA for a period of time. However, your daughter was outside of that period of protection – she was tool old. In the FAQ you will see I have a complete explanation on when children can be protected.

August 8, 2022 at 23:17
No, most people are covered under the Gomez lawsuit.
August 8, 2022 at 12:25
Hello Simon 🙂 DV2023 case number EU26xxx. Would that be high case number?
August 8, 2022 at 23:18
Well we don’t know how high the case numbers go yet, but it is not a low number…
August 8, 2022 at 12:51
Hello again sir.
You have been receiving number of questions from us Sri Lankans. I’m gonna add one more here. As we know there are around 2000 winners this year(2023) and based on history not more than 400 visas been granted right? But in previous years some case numbers high as 30000 has been processed.
1.So wondering what will happen this year..High case numbers won’t get many chances right? 🙁 (I’m also a high CN)
2. wanted to know number of people facing the interview from other countries(SL DV winners) increase does that mean high CN who are in SL will have more chance ?
August 8, 2022 at 23:19
The case numbers are assigned regionally, so it is not about SL cases.
We don’t know how high the numbers go yet in DV2023, it is too early.

Dear brit, Thank you very much for the videos
Looking forwards to see the videos relating to how to start a living in America, and things must be done when arriving there
Because really we don’t know how to start if we travelled,
Many thanks…
August 8, 2022 at 23:19
Yep.
August 8, 2022 at 15:54
Dear Brit,
I am so sorry to bother you again.
I am Thomas from France, CN 2023EU57XX (yup, my number fall short right off, wasn’t expecting that aha).
I am writing to you, because following our last exchange, I emailed KCC. Unfortunately in the first e-mail, I forgot to mail my birthdate, so I sent another e-mail explaining that I apologized for that, and that I emailed in that one my birthdate. I know they say not to send duplicates, but since I didn’t mail all the required informations in my first e-mail, they wouldn’t be able to proceed my inquiry, which is why I sent another e-mail. I was wondering if that would be a problem of some sort? Thanks in advance
August 8, 2022 at 23:21
No problem.
August 9, 2022 at 14:46
Hello Brit,
Thank you so much for your quick reply, as always.
I didn’t know where to privately contact you to show you what KCC has replied to me, but I believe it might show that for now at least, they will ask for documents procedure still. I might be wrong, I don’t know, maybe that will help you I thought. Please see the message below:
“Thank you for your inquiry.
Your DS-260 has been processed. You should have received, or will soon receive, an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing. Please follow the instructions in the email. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Please refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check dvprogram.state.gov.”
Can’t wait to see for your news.
Cheers.
August 12, 2022 at 00:02
That is simply a template email. Don’t read any importance into it.
August 12, 2022 at 19:13
Hello Brit,
Oh okay, sorry about that. Could you please tell me what they mean by the instructions that I am supposed to receive in the next e-mail please?
Also, I saw your last post saying that for now, they are not asking documents. Does this mean that next month, if my case becomes current, I should get my 2NL if they told me that my DS-260 has been processed?
Thank you so much again.
August 13, 2022 at 16:20
Again – ignore it. Just wait for your 2NL
August 15, 2022 at 12:05
Thank you for the valuable help Brit, I deeply appreciate it. I saw your most recent live, where you answered to a question regarding social networks, and putting all of them. The problem is that I’ve only mentioned Instagram, and not my Facebook or Snapchat as I never go there and therefore isn’t really active per say. Since you said that this might cause a problem and that my DS-260 has been processed, what would you recommend please?
I’m assuming it’s been processed given the e-mail you read higher.
Thank you so much for your help.
August 22, 2022 at 03:54
Your case is low enough that you can just go with the DS260 you have, and if there were to be a problem, you have plenty of time to spare.
August 8, 2022 at 16:12
Hi Simon, during the DS-260 submission, I put information about my highest degree of education which is University only. However, one of your videos (i.e. DV Lottery | DV2023 Do you need to send in documents? – 02:43) indicates that the education information is required back to age 12. Is this true? Does the information of ONLY highest degree of education cause any problem although I and my wife do have more than 26 years work experience which have been reported during the DS-260 submission? Do we need to unlock the case and correct it? Case# EU9XXX
August 8, 2022 at 23:22
Ideally, correct it, at least for the principal selectee.
August 8, 2022 at 16:48
Dear Mr. Simon, My heartfelt gratitude to you along this journey since last August, though I regret I did not find your blog bit earlier before submitting the DS 260. Finally, got to see the “issued” status. Your advice and videos helped me immensely to figure out this process otherwise I have been lost. Thank you very much for your instructions, opinion, information provided and the great service.
August 8, 2022 at 23:23
Congratulations!!
August 8, 2022 at 17:03
Hi Brit,
Hope you are doing well.
I was having a look at the first visa bulletin for dv2023, and compared to the last 2 years, I noted that the current cases is much higher than dv2022 or dv2021, and about on par with dv2020.
1. Would this mean there are more high cn this year than the previous 2 years?
2. Would we get all regions current earlier than dv2022 or dv2021, as per your prediction.
I believe this comforts us that we have high case numbers (2023EU223xx)
August 8, 2022 at 23:24
1. We cannot make that assumption based on this VB.
2. It’s too early to be guessing, but already with the number of selectees it makes me suspect that we will not see all regions current.
August 8, 2022 at 17:33
Hello sir,
I want to ask what is AV in dv2023?
And can you really become AV if you are not current yet?
August 8, 2022 at 23:28
AV is a status which means you are current and processed, in a queue for the embassy.
The second answer is obviously “no”.
August 8, 2022 at 18:09
Hey Brit,
Is it alright to travel to another country for a month visit after getting the US green card visa and before travelling to USA?
August 8, 2022 at 23:29
Yes
