Hi Simon, how are you? Hope you’re doing well! I’m on the Telegram group “DV2023 Global” and I’m seeing a lot of people getting their DS-260 processed (along with the email from KCC). Didn’t give it too much thought at first, but now I already saw at least two people with similiar case number (EU23xxx) and similiar submit date (May 16) as mine getting processed, while I’m still at “COMPLETED” status (on CEAC website). I contacted KCC yesterday and they replied me today saying that “Records indicate you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center.”. Should I be worried or do I just have to shut up, drink chamomile and wait? Thank you in advance and have a nice day!
August 8, 2022 at 19:51
Hello Mr.Simon,
First of all I would like to thank you for the information you are providing to the public. That’s really valuable. Second I do have a question. After hearing your YouTube videos I looked on the website you suggested and looks like my sister‘s number is a “hole” number. Does it mean she will never be called to the interview? I’m having tough times understanding what that exactly means. She submitted her document and was keep getting emails saying we will schedule your interview and let you know as soon as it scheduled But we are still waiting and there’s nothing. So I’m wondering if she’s a whole number then how come they were still replying and saying your documents are in process. Could it be an error? I would appreciate any information you can provide to us. Have a blessed day
August 8, 2022 at 23:30
It is your error. Check CEAC directly for her number.
August 9, 2022 at 00:10
Me. Simon,
Thank you so much for the quick reply. I did check that website and I found that her number is a hole number. Is that possible? I never heard green card lottery having hole numbers. What does it mean exactly I couldn’t find any explanation for that. it means disqualified?
August 9, 2022 at 03:45
No.

Hi Brit,
Hope you are doing well.
I’m a bit confused about the educational qualification, I have a bachelor’s degree,
1- Is the Bachelor’s certificate, pre-university degree and diploma enough or should I also bring the degree and certificates of the pre-diploma courses for the interview?
2- Is only the certificate enough or must the transcripts be translated and taken to the embassy?
August 8, 2022 at 23:31
1. Take more than enough.
2. See 1.

Hello simon sir
I am 2022AS27000
I filled my DS260 form by another person and he has mistakenly chosed that I can speak in English language, while I can not.
I am worried about this, can this make any problem in my interview time
August 11, 2022 at 23:54
No
August 14, 2022 at 09:26
Hello Sir, hope you’re well. Im an Iranian DV22 selectee, had to go through an agonizing wait during this fiscal year, now as we are approaching the end of fiscal year, I’ll be more than happy to join one of your live videos and discuss the embassies and Iranian DV cases for the year 2022, Or even 2023. I’m sure there are many Iranian selectees who need translation or a better understanding of the whole program in farsi. Let me know if i could do any help. Thank you for the time you dedicate to this, you’ve been a huge help for me.
August 22, 2022 at 03:26
I have been interviewed in Farsi by another channel – but I certainly appreciate the offer.
August 9, 2022 at 04:06
Hi Brit
My interview is in August 2022.
My name is one-letter mispelled in my educational papers from the other docs. I heard that instead of going through my country to change the original doc, I can get an affidavit of support from a lawyer to confirm the mistake is “”natural””. Is that a must or the CO will be ok as it is?
August 11, 2022 at 23:55
I’m sure the CO will not be worried – but you do what you think is necessary for the best chance.
August 10, 2022 at 07:38
Hi Simon, Given that the first VB is out now and the first 2NLs are also expected during the last two weeks of this month, do you think still there is a possibility that the document procedure will be back for DV2023?
August 11, 2022 at 05:43
Hello simon sir

For now, no. Maybe later.
August 9, 2022 at 04:08
Hello dear Brits,
Hope you are doing well.
I would like to know what does it mean that DV lottery applicants for 2023 have to keep their confirmation number until September 30 2023 as mentioned on the DV lottery web page.
Thanks
August 11, 2022 at 23:56
In some years there is a second release of winners. It won’t happen in DV2023 because there are already more than enough winners.
August 8, 2022 at 21:05
Hello Mr Simon
I am sure you have answered this over and over again but sorry for asking anyway.
Now that the first VB for DV23 has been published, for which country/continent shoud i watch out for to know if my case number is current?
Example AF 22****
Interview location in Europe?
Is my case number going to become current in AF region or EU region?
August 8, 2022 at 23:35
AF
August 9, 2022 at 04:43
Hey Brit,
Hope you are good. Hey I had my interview with my partner on July 6th. Our passports are still with the embassy. I checked the status on ceac , for 2 cases one of them says “issued” and the other one says “ready”. That’s kind of confusing. Any idea what that means? Have they issued to one and still processing the other (for myself or my partner) ? Or is there anything else ?
Thanks for the reply mate.

August 9, 2022 at 10:05
Hi simon
I am dv2020 winner from nepal but cannot give interview due to covid bt now there is hearing on sept about the backlog of visa with the Gomez cases i belong to Gomez case i.e 9095
Bt now i m living in Perth WA
If i win the case and my interview is rescheduled can i give interview in Australia or need to go Nepal for interview
And if i can give interview here whats the process
August 11, 2022 at 23:59
See if the appeal is won and if you get scheduled. If you do, you can then transfer your case.
August 9, 2022 at 10:43
HelloBrit
Am dv winner 2022. I received my 2nl and having my interview on 20th Sept. I mistakenly indicated in my Ds260 that, I had a degree yet in actual sense I studied for 3years and didn’t graduate because I failed apapper.
What can I do to not lose my chance of getting a visa.
August 12, 2022 at 00:00
It’s not a problem.
August 9, 2022 at 11:27
Dear Simon,
I am DV23 winner and while submitting DS260, I made mistake, my fathers place of birth (example I put “Kladovo” but its actually “Petrovo selo, Kladovo”), also I missed few countries I visited in last 5 years (few EU neighbouring countries I overlooked).
Should I contact KCC and ask to unlock my DS260 for this?
Thank you in advance
Igor
August 12, 2022 at 00:00
As long as your case number isn’t very low, yes – unlock and correct.
August 9, 2022 at 17:47
Hi dear Simon, hope you are doing well. DV winner for 2022 with case number 2022as10xxx. As continuously I made
4 to 5 inquiry for my case from KCC, I just been repeatedly receiving that “your case is current for interview processing…and nothing more. Now I would be so pleasure to have your advice and your answers to the questions arises.
1_ originally I’m from Afghanistan, but selected the country for interview, Islamabad Pakistan, for the fall of Afghanistan government. Do they, US consulate, work on DV cases. Do I have the chance to be interviewed there?
2_ as I heard nothing from KCC yet, is it possible that I have not submitted a valid DS260 that caused me refusal?
3_ as the cases become current, does it mean that kcc are done with cases and have sent to the United states of department?
4_ what to do to increase the chance. I’m really afraid miss the chance.
Thanks.
August 12, 2022 at 00:05
1. Yes they take DV cases and have taken some this year. BUT the year is almost over so if you are not already scheduled you are at risk of not getting an interview.
2. KCC don’t refuse cases.
3. No – it means you are in a queue of other cases at the same status (AV). The length of the queue can be more than the number of available interviews.
4. Nothing.
August 12, 2022 at 00:36
First, how if I make a call for KCC
Second, is it possible now to change the interview place at somewhere else?
August 12, 2022 at 03:17
You can only email.
It is probably too late to change – but feel free to try.
August 12, 2022 at 07:11
Sorry for asking questions again and again.
As still my 1nl has not given it’s place to 2nl, at least no changes at 1nl, no sighn for 2nl, is it possible that my case might be scheduled within the left/remaining time for 2022. Moreover, from the two country, India and Cambodia, which one is better to be selected as the 2 mentioned countries are easily available to us. And finally, if I ask for transferring my case to a 3rd country( where to be interviewed), do I have to be present there or I can go there at the time of interview? And what to bring a good reason for transferring?
Very thanks
August 13, 2022 at 16:13
Time is almost gone for DV2022. If you are not already scheduled, your chance is very small.
August 9, 2022 at 17:53
Hi Sir,
My last name is Smith. The last name of my wife in her birth certificate is “Zantout” but there is a remark in the bottom of the birth certificate that she is married to me. Her name in her passport is “Zantout Ep Smith” (which means Zantout spouse of Smith).
The last name of my wife I entered in the dv entry was only “zantout” and in the ds 260 was “”Zantout Ep Smith” as in her passport.
Is it a disqualification reason that the name in the original dv entry does not correspond to her name in her passport? Thanks
August 12, 2022 at 00:05
No
August 9, 2022 at 18:51
Hello Simon and thanks for your help and for everything, I also have a question please, if I will apply for Dv lottery and then in the future let’s say next year I will apply for a genuine tourist B-2 visa I will be denied because of the Dv lottery application?? I would like this year to try Dv lottery and then next year to go there as a tourist also, genuine, but for that I have to go for an interview and to get the visa first.
Many thanks!
August 12, 2022 at 00:11
Entering the lottery does not increase your chances of denial on a non immigrant visa. However, if you win and complete the DS260 then you have demonstrated immigrant intent and that could cause a problem for future non immigrant visas.
August 9, 2022 at 19:49
Hi Brit Simon, hope you doing good! I am selectee with number 2023EU158XX.
1. I have already filled my DS-260 couple months ago and didn’t get any email yet from KCC, should I be worried?
2. How high my number is? Little worried coz it’s my second time being selected last year didn’t get invited for an interview 🙂
August 12, 2022 at 00:13
1. No
2. It’s fine.
August 9, 2022 at 19:56
Hi Brit, hope you are all good.
I had my interview with my partner on July 6th. Our passports are still with the consulate and on ceac one of our entries shows “issued” and the other one shows “ready” for us.
1. Does this mean one of us has been issued the visa and other ones under processing?
2. Is it possible that only one us is issued visa and other might get refused ?
There was no issue in the interview or with any documents.
Thanks for help.
August 12, 2022 at 00:21
Patience.
August 9, 2022 at 21:30
Hi Brit I’m dv2023 winner already I filled ds260 form on may when will i get the response.
August 12, 2022 at 00:21
Wait and see.
August 10, 2022 at 07:25
Hi Simon
Now that the first visa bulletin for DV2023 is released and Africa is at 5700 for the month of October – do you think KCC is going to start sending 2NLs sooner for the DV2023 year? Looking at DV2022 the first 2NLs were sent on 1 Jan for basically all embassies. Do you reckon that this year interviews will actually begin in October? We have a very low case no. in Africa just below 2k. Just wondering if our interview will likely be before January? As we want to speculatively plan on moving dates etc.
Thank you!
August 12, 2022 at 00:29
You are incorrect about 2NLs being sent on January 1. That is simply when the CEAC data becomes available. Interviews for October will be scheduled in the next couple of weeks.
August 10, 2022 at 11:15
Good day Simon,
We went for our DV 2022 interview and were asked for my husbands (main applicant) matric certificate from education department as he had the certificate from the school.
We’re also told we’ll need to fill out the DS-5535 Form.
In your experience what are our chances of making it in before cut off?
Kind regards
August 12, 2022 at 00:30
I cannot guess your chances.
August 13, 2022 at 16:36
Didn’t you have high school transcript? That would’ve been supportive along with your matric certificate.
August 14, 2022 at 08:33
Is this South Africa?
August 10, 2022 at 18:23
Hi Brit. Thanks for all your help.
We have one question.
My wife is DV2023 winner, CN EU6###.
We submitted our DS forms in july, but while filling out her DS260 form I think we misunderstood one detail in “Previous addresses since the age 16” section. We put her present address (same as mine after our marriage) and her previous address (her parents’ home address) correctly, no problem with that, but when it asked a date “Started living here” under the previous address line – we wrote since 2006 (the year she actually turned 16), but she actually lived there ever since she was born in 1990. So, do we need to unlock and put 1990 y. there, or we can leave it as 2006 ?
August 10, 2022 at 18:36
Hy sir, i am a winner of dv lottery 2023. I won with passport that has date of birth different from my birth certificate and academic certificates.
Passport : 24/10/1993
Birth certificate : 24/10/1995
Academic certificates : 24/10/1995
I recently filled my DS 260 form with same passport information. Is it okay to unlock the DS 260 form and apply with new passport with correct information or should I go with same passport at the interview? I have recommendation letter from the passport issuing authority and local government body that person with different date of birth are same? Do US consulates take that into consideration?
I have travelled to foreign countries and has working visa also on the same passport.
August 12, 2022 at 02:37
So your passport is incorrect – get it fixed.
August 10, 2022 at 20:57
Thank you for update the service Is good I agreed with you I learn more you are blessed thanks
August 10, 2022 at 22:44
Hi Brit,
Thank you for your support. I have a questions.
1. I have requested to unlock my and my spouse’s DS260 forms in an one email. But they have only re-opened only my spouses DS260 form. So I have again requested for an unlock to my form.
Whether that could be a problem?
2. How many times can we unlock the DS260 forms?
Thank you.
August 12, 2022 at 02:38
1. Its not a problem, you just have to be very clear what you want.
2. No limit.
August 10, 2022 at 23:58
Hi Brit,
In the I-134 form, in Part 3 question 15 about income of the sponsor, is it mandatory to put all family members (husband/wife + kids) or can the sponsor only mention the children as dependents? I’m asking because naming the husband/wife of the sponsor even if also has an income would require to also provide evidence of that income, it’s just easier to justify income of the sponsor and not his wife/husband income as well.
August 12, 2022 at 02:39
The questions should be answered truthfully.
August 13, 2022 at 10:52
That’s clear. My question was if one can consdier dependents only children that financially depend on you.
August 13, 2022 at 16:46
Adult independent children are not dependents.
August 13, 2022 at 20:22
For the case of I-134, if the husband of the sponsor has an income higher than the sponsor shall be included as dependent or can be cosnidered non dependent? or both would situations (declare as dependent or not declare it) are OK?
August 13, 2022 at 21:37
It could be presented either way.
August 11, 2022 at 11:59
Hi the from I-134 expires on 10/31/22 are we dv2023 going to fill the same form or a new version will be release
August 12, 2022 at 02:42
You can use the current version.
August 11, 2022 at 14:56
I’m interested form 1:134 please help me
August 11, 2022 at 15:36
A simple google search was enough:

August 11, 2022 at 17:38
Hey Brit, have some querys
1- can I use an address for two people one for receiving my GCard and other for hosting possible.
2- about address for me, whats meaning of past. If I lived in my country but you moving here and there as l rent. How should I fill that out.
3- if l sat my college final exam from a different center but l studied from a different college, should I use the name on the document or the college l attended.
4-if l have 2 phone numbers in my country and am in other country where I live now have a new number, how can l feel this part
August 12, 2022 at 02:44
1. No, there is one address – and that is for the GC. Your host could complete an I-134.
2. Truthfully with any address you actually lived at.
3. Use your judgement.
4. Again – use your judgement.
August 11, 2022 at 18:00
Hi Simon,
my sponsor filled out and signed the i-134 but did not provide me with 1040 or W2 or payslips. i do have a government issued id for him though.
is that okay?
August 11, 2022 at 18:50
Sorry, he was able to provide me with W-2 and Government ID but no payslips. is that okay?
August 12, 2022 at 02:45
That might be OK.
August 12, 2022 at 02:44
You need the supporting documents.
August 11, 2022 at 18:16
Good evening Simon,
For DV 2023, my passport has expired after the lottery results were released. I was selected but now I do not know how to proceed. I have not filled up my DS-260 nor have I contacted KCC. Do advice. Kind regards, Asha :D.
August 12, 2022 at 02:44
Get a new passport and complete the DS260.
August 12, 2022 at 06:45
Good day Simon. When I fill up the forms do I use the current passport number or the old one?
August 13, 2022 at 16:12
Current.
August 13, 2022 at 18:16
Good day Mr Simon.
So let me just confirm, Since my passport has recently expired but in my initial DV application it was valid, I will now get a new passport n proceed to use the new passport number to fill up my DS260?
Thank you so much again.
August 13, 2022 at 18:19
Yes
August 12, 2022 at 00:36
GoodDay Simon,
Thanks for your previous reply. My case number is 23AS4900’s, Currently live in Australia.
1. I’m planning move to a new house within next 6-8 weeks. Should I unlock my DS260 once I move and update my new address? or my case number is too low to unlock after 6 weeks.
2. I made a mistake when answering question “Can you speak and/or read languages other than your native language?” I answered “No” and but the answer should be “Yes”, Should I change this now or correct this at the interview?
August 12, 2022 at 03:18
1. No need to unlock – you can correct that at the interview.
2. Interview.
August 12, 2022 at 02:37
Yes
August 12, 2022 at 06:16
Hi Brit good day to you. My husband is a DV2023 winner and the CN is 2023AS19**
He has written to KCC asking for an update regarding DS260 and got below response.
Your DS-260 has been processed. You should have received, or will soon receive, an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing. Please follow the instructions in the email. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.
Is this a standard response or does this mean that there’s no issue in DS260 and we will receive the interview email soon
August 12, 2022 at 06:41
Hi Brit, Hope you are well
I have two questions:
1- I have many questions on your site that the selected ones are looking for ı-134 form and sponsor. Since I don’t have a sponsor in the US, is there any risk for me? And what is the appropriate amount for a bank saving for a family of three who will not face any risk due to the lack of a sponsor?
2- The yellow vaccination card is not issued in the country where I live. Can all vaccines (even those that require multiple doses) be received by an accredited embassy doctor prior to the interview?
August 12, 2022 at 14:40
Hello Brit,
Hope you’re doing well!
I’m filling the form I-134 for a couple that is in the process of getting their visa through the DV lottery program.
I’m married , but my husband doesn’t want to include himself as a sponsor.
If I fill out the form for them myself, considering that my income qualifies to cover a household of 4 pp (including my hb) , will this harm their application in any way?
Thank you in advance!
August 13, 2022 at 16:11
No
August 13, 2022 at 20:18
Ok great! Thank you! ????????
August 12, 2022 at 16:22
OK Brit’s you send me form 1:134 who will guide me fill this form or I fill it alone
August 13, 2022 at 16:11
Google the form. A US resident completes the form.
August 12, 2022 at 17:32
Hi Brit! Earlier we said that if the case number is current, then the interview may be later. Tieyu, in view of his son, is 21 years old. How late can the interview be after the visa age expiration date?
August 13, 2022 at 16:14
If covered by the CSPA he will remain covered during the DV year (as long as he was covered when you went current).
August 14, 2022 at 03:34
If the visa age expires in January 2023 and the case becomes current in December 2022, will he be able to get a visa before the end of the financial year 2023?
August 14, 2022 at 03:37
Yes.
August 14, 2022 at 03:43
thank you very much!
August 12, 2022 at 17:52
Dear Simon,
I am a final year undergraduate. I started to work as a software engineering intern as a part-time job since July. When I was submitting the DS 260 form, I selected my current occupation as “student” since I was unemployed at the time.
1. Should I request KCC to unlock my DS 260 and change my current occupation?
2. If yes, how should I mention the degree that I am currently following? (I will be graduating in Feb 2023)
August 13, 2022 at 16:17
1. No
2. No need.
August 12, 2022 at 18:58
Hi Brit
I’m an OC winner 2022 with a wife and child. When I was selected last year and went onto my summary page to start my DS260 it only had my name on their. I could of sworn 100% I had included my family members on the original entry.
Went to the interview the other week and Visa Officer checked my original entry and confirmed everyone was on it and was all fine I I was approved.
Thanks
Hayden
August 13, 2022 at 16:18
That is really interesting – thanks for sharing!
August 12, 2022 at 19:55
Hi, Brit. I have a question about the I-134 form. Are there any requirements for the person who fills the I-134 form in terms of their salary, work and overall financial situation? I have a friend who’s willing to fill this form for me but just like me he’s under 30 years old and not rich or even middle class. He always holds a job and rents his place to live so he’s not broke by any means but In my opinion his funds are not enough to provide for two people confidently. He is however willing to help me get a job and a place to live for a few months. Plus I’ll be coming to the US with a modest amount of own savings as well. What do you think? Thank you!
August 13, 2022 at 16:22
There is a formula to assess whether the sponsor can support you. Discussed here:
https://britsimonsays.com/all-about-public-charge-affidavit-of-support-i-134/
August 12, 2022 at 21:10
Hi Simon,
1. I have renewed my kid passport. Do I need to unlock his ds260 or just update at the interview? (I still have have the old passport for sure).
2. i my home country, the certificate of high school is issued from the Ministry of Education directly, and regardless of the school that nominated the student. is it ok to mention the FROM & TO dates for the high school for only the 12th grade like from Sept2021 to June2022 only?
3. I was studying my master while filling the entry and filling DS260 so I added University Degree in the Entry and added Second Occupation as Student. I will graduate from master in the comming couple of months. do I have to unlock DS260?
August 12, 2022 at 21:12
BTW, I am DV2023AS23***
August 13, 2022 at 16:24
OK – so you have a LONG time to wait – so you could unlock and correct the education history.
August 13, 2022 at 16:23
1. At interview.
2. You should document all education from age 12 upwards.
3. Not for that.
August 12, 2022 at 22:09
Hello! I hope you’re doing well. I’m a selectee for DV 2023. On the DS form which I’ve submitted on May 14th, there was a section with previous US travel, which I have filled perfectly (was on a J1 program 2017, 2018 and 2019). There was another question saying something like “Have you travelled to any countries for the last 5 years” which I’ve marked “No”. I don’t remember if USA was in that list then, but I believe it wasn’t. Otherwise, I would have marked “Yes”. For that I’m not a 100% sure. Please help me out so I can just quit thinking about it. Should it be a problem if US was there and I still marked No? Case number if EU 14XXX.
Also, I don’t remember receiving 1NL for being selected, I just checked it. Is it okay if I check regularly the entrance website where I fulfill the DS-260 and would I be able to see the instructions there?

US travel isn’t included.
No harm in going to the ESC regularly.

Hi Simon,
Do you know if there is any embassy that accepts transfers for DV 2022 winners? I already emailed … 40 embassies in pretty much every part of the world. Unfortunately Polish embassy can’t take everyone – and I understand it. But from what I’ve heard they processed mostly non-polish cases. Seeing that there are only ~360 cases from Poland and they did ~1470 cases and didn’t manage to deal with their own citizens is just sad…
Thanks in advance 🙂

Sadly no. Even if they did I think it is unlikely that KCC will send many more 2NLs now.

If the marital status changes before an interview date are set, would there be any chance for non-main applicants?
Thanks,

Everything is based on the principal selectee. If the principal divorces the spouse, the spouse can not proceed on their own.

Hi Brit,
There is a slight mistake in the surname on my passport and my birth certificate; can I submit an affidavit for the visa interview?
Thanks and regards,

Your birth cert and passport should be accurate!! If they are incorrect, get them corrected.

Hello Brit. how are you doing? i am addis ababa resident and also went to some other city for university education. the city is close to addis ababa so i was going back and forth. question is do i need two PCCs for each city? and if so doesn’t the fact that date overlap on those PCC cause a problem? because technically both location were my address and on ADDIS ABABA embassy instruction i read something that says you need PCC from each locality of the country. according to my DS260 i was addis ababa resident untill 5 years ago and i became resident to other city(stayed for study) for 5 years and i recently got graduated and back to addis on june 30.

You need to read and follow the instructions including the reciprocity page. That can help you more than I can.

Hey Brit, I just got my DV2023 interview scheduled for October – yay! My question is: can I pay the USCIS fee right after the interview and apply for my Green Card to be made before I’ve actually gone to the USA (and sent to a reliable US address)? I won’t be able to stay on my first trip the estimated 90 it usually takes to get the card from first arrival. Thanks!
August 13, 2022 at 18:10
Base on my experience, easy way, pay them b4 you travel, becoz its takes 90 or less for green card to be send to your address. I did that in last year dv21.
August 13, 2022 at 18:18
You can pay before you travel but they won’t produce the card until you have entered.

hello, I’m the winner of dv2023 with cn EU 3***
I would like to know if there is a possibility of rejection on the day of the interview because a few years ago I had a small business in my name and I have some unpaid taxes and insurances, I am very worried about this, please give me your opinion what should i do, thanks
August 13, 2022 at 18:19
That has nothing to do with US immigration.

Hello Simon, I am DV 2022, attended my interview in Abu Dhabi on May 13, 2022 and still in Administrative Processing after given DS 5535, my question, my case was updated 3 times since August 1st, 2022, including my derivatives, what does this mean? Am I about to conclude AP case? my last update wast to my new baby 10th August, 2022.
August 13, 2022 at 21:31
You cannot infer anything from the updates.
August 14, 2022 at 07:03
Thanks BritSimon, for the AP cases over 3 months, do you recommend contacting Bureau of Consular Affairs, if the embassy are not taking actions?
August 22, 2022 at 03:21
That would be a waste of time.

Hi Britsimon,
I hope you are doing well. I am DV2022 from Venezuela. I had my interview in Panama the last June 6th because I live over there. That day, the consular officer could not validate my High School diploma because it did not say High school diploma insted It says Medium Electrical Technician because I studied in a Vocational Technical school, which includes the high school program but they add 1 more year to prepare the student for a technical job. So, yesterday I got a letter from the consular officer saying that I was refused because I am not fullfill either the education or the work expierence requirement. It is important to say that during my waiting time I sent them my academic record of my school to demonstrate that, but they could not validate my diploma. In addition, I know many of Venezuelans and more specifically one applicant Dv2022 who submitted a similar Diploma like me, in the Bogota Embassy and they validated it and she got the Visa. That happend because that Embassy is close to Venezuela and they know pretty weell the Education System in my country. I would like to ask you any recommendation in this matter, if there are something to do because the process it is almost done.
Thank so much in advance for your help,

There is no appeal process in these cases. However, if you feel the embassy made a mistake you can email them and ask them to reconsider, providing any proof you have such as the other case. You could also contact LegalNet (info below), but due to the remaining time, that is less likely to work in time. Vocational education is a problem. It is only considered valid if there is a general education aspect to it.

The other thing is perhaps you have work experience.

Hello Brit. More strength to your elbows for all you do for us
I am DV23 winner, CN – 2023AF45**
According to the bulletin, I am current for interview in October. I did submit my DS-260 on the 14th of May. However, I haven’t gotten any email from KCC indicating that my case is ready for scheduling and neither have I received a 2NL.
1.Please how can I verify if my DS-260 has already been processed and in AV status?
2. Can I still get my 2NL without necessarily getting an email from KCC stating that I’m ready for scheduling?
I hope to go live on your channel soon as I move to USA this year by the grace of God ????????????
August 14, 2022 at 03:38
1. You can email KCC.
2. Yes
August 14, 2022 at 04:06
Hi Simon,
As soon as a case is scheduled for interview, the applicant will be notified through email by KCC, or the changes only comes to 1nl. Furthermore, any possibility for any update to cases to be scheduled for interview?
Thanks
