Hello, hope you are doing well!
2024EU44***
I forgot to fill my school in ds-260, but I’ve filled college and university. I guess in it is not a critical mistake, but still could you, please, tell me should I ask KCC to unlock my ds-260 to fix that?
Thank you in advance!
May 18, 2023 at 10:42
It’s up to you. You have a long time to wait anyway, but you can decide.
May 17, 2023 at 07:02
Hello Mr.Brit Simon
I’ve been selected in lottery 2024, I won the lottery with location of interview in Abu Dhabi since I was born and work in UAE, however, I’m from Jordan. Unfortunately, after I filled and submitted the application I read and heard some issues regarding the embassy in Abu Dhabi, so what do you recommend? btw unlocking the application does not allow to change the embassy!
May 18, 2023 at 10:43
They base the choice of embassy on your current address. So – if you want an interview in Jordan, your current address should reflect that.

Hi Brith Simon,
Could you please guide me, I am a DV-lottery winner, 2023 my interview was in in 12-April-2023 in US embassy, Islamabad, winner is my wife, the interview completed without any issue and consular collected our passports in day same day of interview, and guide me to fill the DS-5535 for my self and send as much fast as possible, I filled the requested form in the same day and uploaded, after that my case got two new updates, the last updated on 20-April-2023 and after that till now no updates and I didn’t hear anything from embassy, what do you think how much more it can take time? Should I wait or contact with embassy through email, in the embassy guide they specified we must wait at least 60 days after submitting documents. Then we can send email, sorry for long question, case number 2023AS12xxx.
May 18, 2023 at 10:46
All you can do is wait. It can take weeks, or even months for DS5535 to process.

Hi Simon,
Please how many visas are now available for dv2023 after those that have been issued and 2023Af27k will I possibly get a 2nl or should I change embassy?I am In Accra
May 18, 2023 at 10:47
There are plenty of visas available right now, that is not your problem. The problem for you is that Accra are not taking the number of interviews they need to do in order to issue enough visas. They are seriously backlogged, and I don’t think they will fix that.
May 17, 2023 at 08:00
Hi Simon.
I applied in the lottery as single. This is because my wife and I are not legally married yet. We are planning to formalize our marriage soon. Question.
1. Can I add her in the DS 260?
2. If not, can I petition for her to join me later.
3. She ha a child whom I am not the biological father, can I add him
May 18, 2023 at 10:49
1. Once you are married, yes.
2. Yes – but that will take a long time – better to do it via DV.
3. Again, once married – yes. That child would be your step child.
May 17, 2023 at 08:28
Hi Brit, I wanted to know if KCC sends 2nl in bulk or on a random basis after the case gets current? For July 2023, in Nepal embassy some selectees in the range of 18.2k have received their 2nl however those with Case number 17.9k, 18.1k are yet to receive 2nl. Why is this so? Is it something to be worried about?
May 18, 2023 at 10:50
I explain the process here:

Hello, my girlfriend and I participated in the dv lottery 2024 and to our surprise she was selected and I was not. We are very happy and really want to seize the opportunity that is offered to us to come and live in the USA.
Its CN is 2024EU00011XXX so it should have its interview. We are getting married on June 22, we will be able to prove our life together for more than 6 years at the American Embassy with multiple common bills.
So we will fill our DS-260 on June 23.
On the other hand, the question I ask myself since she is going to change her name, she is going to redo her passport. Should we ask the KCC for an opening of the DS-260 to modify it or present his new passport at the interview at the American embassy is enough?
Thank you in advance for your answer
May 18, 2023 at 10:51
Just show the new passport at the interview (and keep proof of the old passport).
May 17, 2023 at 12:08
I am 2024 winner; my case number is locked; DS 260 is giving me message saying ” entered case number is current unavailable please try again later or contact KCC by email or phone”. that happen after I tried to login DS 260 many times, I was doing that in wrong way, and I knew later. please advise next step and how things supposed to go after this issue. Thank you.
May 18, 2023 at 10:55
You have to email KCC explaining you have blocked your DS260. The procedure is that they will arrange an appointment to go to your embassy to prove your identity and then release the form. That process can take weeks or even months. I’m sorry you did not listen to my advice about not trying many times.
May 17, 2023 at 13:52
Hello Simon! I have some questions:
– When I am going to complete the social networks, I include them all in the “Social Media” section, while the “Other social media” section refers to those that do not appear to select previously like TikTok. In these cases it is enough to put the name with which I appear identified in the social network, or should I provide a profile link?
– Cuando escribo el nombre de mi ciudad no se incluye completamente, parece tener una cierta cantidad de caracteres permitidos. Esto está bien? O hay alguna forma de cambiar el tamano o tipo de letra. Todo me sale en letras mayúsculas.
Thanks in advance
May 18, 2023 at 11:01
1. Just the name
2. Shorten the city name.
May 17, 2023 at 13:58
Hi BritSimon, I was selected as Dv lottery 2024 with EU11110, I entered the US in 2022 as B2 Tourist and applied to asylum in my third month, and has been an asylum pendee so far. So i was never out of status considering asylum pendee is ‘a status’. I am also getting married to a citizen this month. Was wondering if it is worth trying the dv lottery and is there any additional files i could add to support considering i will be married to a citizen maybe? (I want to wait a year to so marriage based greencard in case i get rejected from the lottery one.) Thank you Best regards😊
May 18, 2023 at 11:02
I think I already answered this question. You can try DV – that won’t affect the other routes you have.
May 17, 2023 at 14:17
Hi Simon! I recently was selected for 2024. From Australia CN062 , I’m currently in the US on a B1/B2 and my 6 months from entering runs out Aug 15th.
I’m trying to decide between trying to extend my B1/B2 stay by filing for an extension of stay and file my DS-260 as inside the US and doing a AOS (adjustment of status) or selecting Vancouver embassy where my wife is from for my interview. Is it a quicker process for filing from inside US?
I’ve already ordered my high school certificate and police report from home. But haven’t filed my DS-260 because the first question is where do you want to interview? Can you change your interview option at a later date after filing DS-260? Thankyou
May 18, 2023 at 11:10
The DS260 isn’t mandatory for AOS cases.
If you want to try and extend the current stay, you can do that, BUT it could be difficult waiting for an interview as you would only file on October 1. Yes you can change the DS260, but once they have a DS260 that says you are adjusting status, they kinda put your case to one side. So – only file the DS260 if you decide on CP.
Personally I don’t think it is wise to try and do AOS in your situation. If you choose CP, the only interview location for Canada is Montreal.
May 17, 2023 at 14:26
Hi, I am a DV2024 winner from EU. I was reading about condition to get a citizenship after I get my green card. Is this condition still acurate? “Physically present in the U.S. for at least 30 months out of the past five years”. Would I be completely fine in getting citizenship if I spend 6 months in USA and 6 months in Europe for those 5 years?
May 18, 2023 at 11:12
There is a physical presence requirement which you would not meet with 6 months in and 6 months out. But I suggest you do more research as that is not the scope of my expertise.
May 20, 2023 at 17:42
30 months out of the past five years (5 years = 60 months) means half of the year in the country, no? 5 times 6 months equals 30 months? I plan to stay longer but just to know what is a minimum that won’t affect me
May 20, 2023 at 22:15
Again – do your own research.
May 17, 2023 at 15:12
I see many people mention that you need a credit history and credit score in order to rent apartment in USA. Are people more flexible if I pay for example the whole thing in advance in cash for 6 months, if I want to rent it for 6 months, or they still need to check my non-existing credit history since I just moved? Also can you build credit score without taking loans?
May 18, 2023 at 11:15
For apartments it depends on the scenario – a case by case basis. The reality is that you still have rights that can present the landlord with a problem even after a 6 month pre paid lease. So – large landlords are more likely to be cautious.
A good way to build credit is to get a secured credit card (one that reports to the credit agencies) and make some charges on it each month and pay it off each month.

Hi mr simon i really appreciate your time and efforts
I am brazilian live in egypt and i have legal accommodation (investment ) for 5years but my accommodation card or visa this sort of visa written on it (no work permit ) but i am already worked in school for 2years Ago and i am not working now should i write job experience in ds260 i am afraid that he will reject the visa because he will consider me break the egyptian law should i mention it or not ??
May 18, 2023 at 11:22
You have to tell the truth – do not compound the lie.
May 17, 2023 at 23:29
Hello Simon,
I was selected DV2024, and I would like to ask you a question related to education. I made a mistake which I put the ds 260 form a wrong starting and ending date on high school education section and I discover this mistake once I submitted the ds 260 form. So would it be a problem or affect on process. Is it also possible that to ask KCC to reopen my form in order to correct it.
Thank you
May 18, 2023 at 11:23
You can ask KCC to unlock the form so you can correct, but if we are talking a few days, I would not bother.
May 18, 2023 at 00:07
Hello Brit,
Trust you’re doing good with family🤗. Just to give you feedback on my interview. I’m case number 2023AF00031XXX, had interview in U.S Embassy Yaounde, Cameroon on Tuesday May 16th, 2023
I received my 2NL on Wednesday 29th March, 2023. I had to subscribe for your daily mail post which has helped me a lot, learning through other peoples questions asked here. I took the pain to read/re-read every question you answered via my mail until now. Through this I have gained so much value and now equipped with proper information that can help me further in future and possibly help any other person in need
Showed up at interview way before time, was calm with all documents complete. Later on went through normal security check and document verification by Embassy support personnel. Interview was pretty straight forward, less than 2 minutes😊 as a single applicant, a recap
CO: Warmth greetings, good morning Sir😅!
CO: Now raise your right hand, You have to take this oath, that you promise to say the truth and only the truth
Me(Response): Did as asked
CO: What is your name Please?
Me(Response): gave my full names
CO: Have you ever travelled to another country before?
Me(Response): I had travelled before, so I gave the country and even added confidently by specifying the duration period
CO: Are you married?
Me(Response): NO
CO: Do you have a child?
Me(Response): NO
CO: Do you have a fiancee, girlfriend or someone you intend to marry later on, smiled 😉 at me? (She later on said the reason was just in case your partner happens to apply in future, so that we know by putting her name in the system will facilitate the process, just in case she ever apply for a visa)
Me(Response): NO
CO: Ok, CONGRATULATIONS sir, welcome to USA. You will have to wait for 1-2 weeks for your visa to be printed. You will be notified by mail. That’s all, you can go now😊
So, I was approved Brit. I want to thank you 🙏 personally on this occasion, for taking upon you to serve others in this manner free of charge, others on YouTube may charge for this but you’re doing it for free, God bless you and your household, you will never lack financially, peace of mind and long life to you with family, I wish you the very best and hope just to see you one day inorder to show my appreciation/respect
JUST FEW TIPS/ADVISE***
1) I see many persons abandoning the whole process/forms to be filled by someone else and they just wait to be told what to do, I don’t think is the right way to go, even if some other person has to fill and follow up your process, you should at least know everything happening by reading the information needed and if better, take out time to do all by yourself. The blog by Brit here has everything from A to Z, don’t be lazy, take out time to read and re-read
2) You can also subscribe by mail on the britsimon blog, so that whenever he answers a question, you can receive in your mail, then read them and learn as sometimes you might even have the same question to ask Brit, that way you won’t be repeating questions already answered, take out time to read
3) There are also guidelines for new immigrants. When approved, you can even take the burden to start reading and know what is expected of you as we plan to take this new phase of life in another land, very important
Though long, I believe someone will always learn. Best wishes to all approved 2023🙏
May 18, 2023 at 14:11
Congratulations and thank you for detailing the interview experience, including the excellent tips.

Hi Brit. I’m from Africa and my Mother is a US citizen. She is over 60 years old and would like to find out if its possible to secure a visa on the bases of going to cater for her.
May 18, 2023 at 14:18
That is outside my area, so I would suggest she consults with a lawyer. She can sponsor you for a greencard. However that process can take a long time, so the sooner she does it the better.
I recommend https://blesslitigation.com/
May 18, 2023 at 02:32
Hi Mr. Simon, I have been selected for DV 2024 and I wish to ask you that, there is a question to fill in the address of America, living after arriving. is that necessary to fill?
May 18, 2023 at 14:19
Yes – it is where the greencard and SSN will sent. You will have the chance to change it at the interview, but it must be someone that you can trust to keep your GC and SSN safe.
May 18, 2023 at 02:54
Hi Simon!
With the upcoming US elections inbound. Do you believe there is any change that could happen towards DV2024 winners? I.E Travel Bans, change of process etc. or would those take too long to pass through congress such that for DV2024 case it should not matter but those in DV2025 should take note
May 18, 2023 at 14:20
Laws don’t move that fast, so any impacts could come from things like Covid, or Presidential executive orders. But I don’t have a crystal ball to see those things coming.
May 18, 2023 at 05:47
Hi Simon.
In general at the interview if you don’t have something ( certificate, statement, medical, etc.) , are you immediately rejected. Like thank you for playing but you’ve failed. Or is it more like, ok you don’t have this now can you produce it within a week or two?
Thanks a lot.
May 18, 2023 at 14:24
The latter. You are told what you need to provide and your case is held until you provide it. If you wait too long (like after September 30) then you lose your chance.
May 18, 2023 at 06:20
Hi Brit
CN:2024AF27K
I’m in Accra. I submitted my DS 260 forms yesterday waiting for a review. My interview location is Freetown.
So meaning the 1st Visa bulletin for DV 2024 will be published in August and it will be called September VB and it shows CN numbers for October interview.
I’m I correct?
May 18, 2023 at 14:25
Yes – and October won’t include your number…
May 18, 2023 at 06:45
Hi,Simon,
Raju from Nepal, my question is, i have mentioned the current address to NYC in my immigrant visa status, Now I’m willing to fly California rather than the given address. Kindly suggest me is there any problem to do so?
May 18, 2023 at 14:26
No problem.
May 18, 2023 at 07:57
Good morning, if the bank statements of the primary applicant and derivative shows that loans are still being paid off, will that hamper the chances of visa approvals?
May 18, 2023 at 14:26
No
May 18, 2023 at 08:19
Hello Brit. I am winner DV 2024af49xxx . Currently I am in the USA. I entered the USA via the Mexican border a few weeks ago. Today I found out I was selected. I would like to know if I can continue my DV procedure (AOS)
May 18, 2023 at 14:27
You must be able to remain in the USA under a legal non immigrant status, and must not violate any terms or laws in the meantime. If you can’t do that, or entered illegally, you should leave as soon as possible.
May 18, 2023 at 11:05
If in previous years EU cases were at 30K+ highest and it is at around 60K+ in 2024. Can we assume that those who got case number around 2024EU29000, will be equivalent of 15K of previous years? That would mean that they will be current around in Jan-Feb 2024? How likely would it be?
May 18, 2023 at 14:43
That is a possible explanation for the high case numbers (high number of holes) and I lean in that direction. I created a video about that here:
https://youtu.be/ZQaG26L7-CE
However, we won’t know for sure until July/August when we get the selectee counts.
May 18, 2023 at 13:19
Hello Simon, Is there a date range of when the 2NL is sent?? I’m on the AV queue since March and still haven’t received my 2NL.
May 18, 2023 at 15:01
It depends on the backlog at your particular embassy.
May 19, 2023 at 07:59
I understand that, but 2NL are sent on a daily basis or at the end of Month?
May 19, 2023 at 14:38
2NLs start just after the CB and continue to be sent until the end of the month, and even the first few days of the following month.
May 18, 2023 at 13:50
Hello Brit,
Hope you are doing well.
Just received my 2nl, and I had a couple questions.
1. In the instructions it says that I need to register my appointment online. Do I need to do this as soon as I receive my 2nl or I can also register at a later time?
2. Regarding the medical exam as well, it says I need to submit the online form 3 weeks prior to my interview date. Now should I submit the form 21 days prior to my interview exactly, or can I submit it even earlier, let’s say a month from my interview date for example?
Thank you for your help!
May 18, 2023 at 15:02
1. There is not a time limit, but sooner rather than leaving it too late.
2. Earlier is better.
May 18, 2023 at 17:29
Thank you for your answer.
An additional question, the same should apply when sending the documents to the embassy via courier as well right? Or should I do that only 2 weeks ahead of my interview?
May 18, 2023 at 18:54
Follow the embassy instructions.
May 18, 2023 at 15:21
Hi Brit My sponsor sent me his 2020 and 2021 tax returns; he is missing 2022 and has not filed it, so when I took it to the embassy, they said you must bring the 2022 tax return. What should I do? Can I find a new sponsor other than the one whose information I submitted to the embassy?
May 18, 2023 at 15:33
Discuss it with your sponsor. If he/she is employed, perhaps they can give you a W2 for 2022 (which is an annual wage statement)
May 18, 2023 at 15:48
Is the W2 only enough for me if he is employed? I think you mean that I don’t need a tax return, right?
May 18, 2023 at 16:24
They might accept a W2 on its own IF that income is enough and aligns with previous years tax returns
May 18, 2023 at 15:51
Hi Brit My sponsor did not file the tax return for 2022, and the deadline for filling out the form expired, and then he submitted the form after the deadline, so they rejected him, and he said that the rejection was related to the money they would refund me. Can I use that form on the day of the interview? Can I use that form on the day of the interview?
May 18, 2023 at 16:24
No
May 18, 2023 at 16:38
1-Can I change this sponsor whose information is not complete, and can I switch to a new sponsor?
2-Does it cause a problem since the information about the sponsor I want to change is in the embassy’s possession?
May 18, 2023 at 18:48
1. Yes
2. Maybe
May 18, 2023 at 15:54
Dear Brit, I am 2022 winner and my interview is scheduled this month. Today I got to know that my sponsor (sponsor family size 3) has sponsored another family (4) back in 2019. Now he is sponsoring my family of 4. Should his income match the total of 11 as per the poverty guidelines? Your response is highly appreciated sir.
Thanks
May 18, 2023 at 16:23
Technically yes, but in practice that might not come up.
May 18, 2023 at 17:21
Sponsor files income of 60k. In that case can I proceed with him?
May 18, 2023 at 18:53
The FPG for 11 is $60790 – so if the sponsor is exactly 60k, and the CO treats that as family size of 11, then there is a risk.
May 18, 2023 at 16:42
Dear Brit, i have a question, the address in which i am living in right now is not the same address on my id, i filled the form with address i’m currently living in. should i change my ID?
May 18, 2023 at 18:49
Follow the rules for ID in your country.
May 18, 2023 at 16:53
Hello 🙂
I am an Albanian citizen (female) and I have a question related to DS260 🙂 Do I need to answer to this question: Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last 5 years? Someone told me that this question does not apply (or the info is not saved) for female applicant. That he never answered before to this question for female apl. but just males. What is your information on that 🙂
May 18, 2023 at 18:50
Stop listening to that someone.
Of course you need to answer the question.
May 18, 2023 at 18:00
Hello Simon,
I’ve watched all of your videos and I am very grateful you for the information that you provided.
I wanted to ask you about the security & background information question, there’s a question regarding “Have you ever been arrested, convicted for any offence or crime, even though subject of pardon amnesty or similar other action?
If one had sentenced and done his time and been released lawfully.
Will there be a problem as the police report now is clean.
And I also want to query about: As now I am in another country (UK) for my further studied so can I put the current address of UK and also the embassy address for the interview. Can you please reply?
Thank you
May 18, 2023 at 18:55
1. It depends on what the offence was, how serious, and when.
2. Yes you can interview where you live now.
May 18, 2023 at 18:48
Dear Brit, I already posted the below question and you have clarified
“ Dear Brit, I am 2022 winner and my interview is scheduled this month. Today I got to know that my sponsor (sponsor family size 3) has sponsored another family (4) back in 2019. Now he is sponsoring my family of 4. Should his income match the total of 11 as per the poverty guidelines? Your response is highly appreciated sir.
Thanks”
My question is my sponsor reported an income of approx. 60k for the year 2022, in that case can I continue with the same sponsor?
May 18, 2023 at 23:24
My military registration ticket is currently at the military station (Kazakhstan) because I was exempted while I was at college. They gave me a receipt/acknowledgment letter that they will have it until I graduate and I am temporarily excused. I graduated 4 years ago from US and stayed here on h1b visa. I want to do consular processing to visit family and other reasons. I feel like it will be risky for me to go to military station to get the ticket because they might take me to army for a year. Do you know how important is the military registration ticket is when 1) sending to KCC and 2) bringing to the interview? Is outdated receipt is fine?
May 19, 2023 at 14:30
1. Not needed for KCC
2. Might be required. I can’t be certain how that will be treated.
May 18, 2023 at 20:51
Hello Samon, I am 2024AS32xxx from Afghanistan. My passport is expired and I cannot fill out the DS 260. If I get new passport, it will take one month or more.
1- Is it important to submit the DS260 as soon as possible? or what time is good to submit it ?
2- If I submit DS 260 in June or July 2023, will it effect my case ?
3- There is not US embassy in Kabul, which embassy should I select in DS260
4- Would be there a chance of interview for my case 2024AS32xxx
May 19, 2023 at 09:04
1. Sooner is better unless you have a reason to delay. You can submit now using another national ID.
2. See 1.
3. You can choose one that is convenient for you to travel to. If you chose Kabul, they would assign you to Pakistan.
4. It is too soon to know.
May 18, 2023 at 21:46
Hi Britsimon!
I am now current with OC 16XX in Sydney embassy.
I haven’t yet received my 2NL and I can see on a tracker that other 2NLs are in transit around my case but not mine. Should I be concerned?
I submitted and confirmed it’s all processed by KCC in (submitted after reopening in Oct and confirmed in jan)
May 19, 2023 at 09:07
I don’t think Sydney has had any 2NLs sent since the VB. So – you need to wait and would expect to be in the next Sydney 2NLs. The other cases around your number in Transit are probably for different embassies.
May 24, 2023 at 23:00
Hi Britsimon!
It seems that Syd has sent their 2NLs but CNs1500+ I dont believe are included (or maybe some are). So i have a few questions and concerns im hoping you can help shed some light on:
1: Do you believe sydney will send more in the next week or so? it shows on ceac data they have sent 15 and i have checked all those CNs on Ceac website to see which embassy they are allocated to (suva has done all up to the VB #)
2: Would it be worth while to transfer to Suva for a July interview (or potentially ask if possible with them) – the reason I ask is that I am now between house leases unfortunately and cannot resign for another 1-2 year lease contract knowing if everything going well I will be moving to the USA this year. My concern is the quota etc may be filled and if sydney are working slower than anticipated this could cause an issue.
3: If you would in my shoes, what are the next steps – do i contact suva asking them if they will take my case etc and then contact KCC? Or another way? Should I wait until next VB or is that putting it at risk further?
appreciate any guidance you can give!

1. I can’t be certain.
2. Shouldn’t be necessary – but it’s your decision.
3. That is a critical decision – I can’t make that decision for you.

Good day.
I submitted my DS-260 form, but in the high school section mentioned that I attended my high school until 31th of May (this is officially the last day of classes in my country). My high school diploma is dated on 13th of June (10 days prior to that, there was a final examination). Should I indicate the 31th pf May (the last day when I attended the classes), or 13th of June (the high school diploma date) as the last day attended the high school? Is it worth to unlock the form, if 31of May is not the correct date?
Thank you !

No need to worry about that detail. 31 May will be fine.

Hello Mr> Simon,
Thank you for your huge efforts!
2024AS30***
I just submitted my DS260 for me, wife, and two children.
I have a valid passport (till 29 June 2023) so I could apply. My new and family’s passports are being processed currently. They will be issued late June 2024 (or early July). I marked that they hold ‘Other Travel Document’ of course they do not have any.
Do you recommend to ask KCC to reopen to update my info after receiving the new passports?
or will not be that necessary as long as we show them new passports at the time of interview, if I got one. Thank you in advance for a Syrian in Istanbul.
Best,

Not necessary to unlock for that – just show the new passports (and proof of the old one) at interview.

Greetings sir, thanks for ur great work. I am a winner of DV2023 from Cameroon ,my case number is 2023AF49484 and haven’t gotten any 2NL. Am I really on a safe side?
May 19, 2023 at 14:34
You are not safe until the visa is in your hands.
Cameroon are backlogged and only accepted one interview last month – so we have to see how many they take this month.

Dear Brit, if my sponsor jointly files tax returns, should we fill out two i-134 forms separately for each sponsor or only one form is enough?
And my sponsors joint income is $64000 and is it enough for a total family size of 11?
May 19, 2023 at 14:36
One form is fine. 64K is just enough.

Dear Britsimon,
Thanks a lot for this resourceful website. It has been a true help during the dv lottery journey. My husband and I are are now owner of temporary I-551 and need to set a foot in the US before the 23th October 2023.
The consular agent told us that once we enter in the US, we are not allowed to leave the country until the green card document is edited and on our possession unless we ask for an exception. From testimonies I read online, I thought we were allowed to leave the country and come back at a later stage with an endorsed I-551. Could you please clarify this point ?
We would need extra time to prepare our departure (like selling our flat, leaving our jobs…) so this information is very crucial for me.
Thanks a lot,

The CO was incorrect – you can leave immediately.

Dear Sir,
My Case Number AS21** still not current and received any email. Do you think it is over or have to wait? Thanks.
May 19, 2023 at 14:37
September 30th is the end, not today.

Green card lottery is wasting our time and energy if the case number is high.
My case number is 31000 in Asia / Sri Lanka. Are there any chances for interview.?

Year?

Hello sir,
As always I’m very much grateful for your support.
I have a question regarding my name. I have the same name in my passport and BC. But my National ID and most of my educational documents have added names.which I inherit from my father.
So I was thinking to present an affidavit but I thought that it would be better if I put that name on alterations on passport.i can get this done but I’m worried whether this might effect in a bad way?i have stated in my ds 260 that I have no other names.
So please advice me what’s the wise thing to do?
1. Should I make the correction and unlock the dv at this point (2023-AS22***) I know I won’t even have a chance by don’t wanna mess it up if I get the chance
2. Go to the interview with an affidavit from a lawyer?
3. If I change my occupation at the moment will it also effect in any bad way?
Please help.
Thank you

1. I would suggest unlocking to use the other names section of the form.
2. Your choice.
3. No
May 19, 2023 at 22:44
Thank you very much.but I have already unlocked twice..is that okay if do it again?
May 19, 2023 at 23:01
Yes
May 19, 2023 at 12:27
Hi Brit,
I have a male friend who applied as single with a kid and got selected but did not include the wife (although not legally married) but they stay together . What happens here?
May 19, 2023 at 14:47
He can marry the “wife” to include her in the process.
May 19, 2023 at 13:23
Hi Simon
1.Is it possible to fill ds260 without passport?
2.Has spelling difference in last name during initial entry and ds260 impact on eligibility to interview?
May 19, 2023 at 14:48
1. Yes – there is an ability to choose “other ID”
2. No
May 19, 2023 at 13:38
After DS260 is submitted, are supporting documents required to be sent to KCC for DV2024?
What are the next steps after submitting? Do we just wait to be contacted to schedule an interview?

Hi Britt, I have been selected for DV lottery 2024 and my case number is AF48****.
I wanted to know when should I fill the DS260 form? I have read from DS website that I should fill the form as soon as possible. But, I have the issue of getting passport for my kids and spouse which might take 3-6 months (due to bureaucracy issue).
kindly awaiting your response,
May 19, 2023 at 15:34
Fill it in soon. You don’t have to have a passport for the spouse and children, you can use another national ID for the spouse and copy your passport number to the DS260 for each child.
May 19, 2023 at 15:27
Hey Simon, hope you’re well. My case is 2024AS13130 and my embassy is Ankara. Would you advise to change embassy to another country or stick with this for now? Thank you again!
May 19, 2023 at 15:35
I can’t decide that for you.
May 19, 2023 at 16:41
Sure, I understand that but I mean if you were to be in the same situation, what would you do? I apologize if I am being leading but I just mean according to your expertise over the years. Thank you!
May 19, 2023 at 22:59
If I wanted to answer I would have done so.
May 19, 2023 at 16:24
Hi Simon, is there a risk on doing early filling for aos as you don’t have to wait until 1st day of the month that CN becomes current? Does the early filling policy memorandum still effective?
May 19, 2023 at 16:28
Early filing still works. The only limitation is not to file before the 1st day of the year (October 1).
