Hi Brit,
Can a mother play the Diversity Visa along with her grand children? If yes, what documents will she be asked to provide during the interview for the grand children?
March 2, 2024 at 13:53
As answered on the live session – no that is not possible.
March 1, 2024 at 23:30
Hi Simon,
According to Xarthisius data today Suva Embassy has taken interviews up till case OC1014 even though only cases up to OC875 was current for the month of Feb. I loooove that they are doing this because i think its good for the rest of the people waiting in line with higher numbers.
I know they moved cases forward at the end of the lottery season last year as well. Is this normal to do this in the middle of the year? What are your thoughts about this?
March 2, 2024 at 13:53
It’s unusual if they are actually conducting the interviews, but they won’t issue those until a visa is available.
March 2, 2024 at 15:35
Yes that’s what happened last year. Cases were in 221g waiting to be current so they could be issued visas.
I do think that’s the more likely scenario here as opposed to all those cases processed in a day (March 1st) at Suva Embassy including 4 refusals.
March 1, 2024 at 08:48
Hi mr simon,
As the principal applicant I’ve a baby on the 27th of Feb and my case no is Af59k my embassy dakar senegal is performing well , so when can I add the baby do he need a passport now?
March 2, 2024 at 13:52
I answered on the live show – but yes unlock asap to add the baby.
March 1, 2024 at 05:06
Hello Simon!
Would you kindly explain what should one do if its status shows REFUSED but has a remark down below stating the following:
“US consular officer has adjudicated your visa application. Please follow any instructions provided by the consular officer. If you were informed by the consular officer that your case was refused for administrative processing, your case will remain refused while undergoing such processing…”
Does that mean that the case is under 221g?
And is there any need to contact the embassy?
March 2, 2024 at 13:51
Yes – 221g
Now you just wait.

Hi Simon,
I’m already here in America for 60 days and 90 days after I paid for my green card. but I haven’t received my green card yet plus there is no progress in online status check it standstill to be only in my payment date. My concern is because of the family I’m staying with they moved to the new house and I’m really worry about not receiving my green card in my new address. Though I already update a new address in USCIS and USPS. My questions are:
1. Can you suggest what I should do right now? I already contact to USCIS call center but seem like the answer is very general not specific.
2. Do you think it possible for USCIS to mail the card to my address or I need do anything more?
3. Have you ever meet any case like mine? Can you share about their story so I can learn by their lesson.
I’m thankful for your answer.
March 2, 2024 at 13:51
Forget when you paid, you have been here 60 days. That’s not long – wait 90 to 120 days.
The card will most likely be sent to the address they had on file at the point of entry.
February 27, 2024 at 12:38
Dear Sir,
In one of telegram groups a lady is asking a question. Mybe you can help her to answer. Her husband is a selectee and a principal applicant. But as she said when filling his initial application for DV lottery he didn’t include his child from his previous marriage there because as she said he did not have any photo of his child and if there is no photo of a child one cannot proceed with filling his own application.
But in DS-260 he mentioned about that child. I think they have no chance to get a visa but at the same time maybe you know any cases when council officers believed in “I had no photo” explanations? Can an absence of a photo be considered as a reasonable excuse not to include a child in the initial application?
February 27, 2024 at 23:20
There is no acceptable excuse. The case will be disqualified.
February 27, 2024 at 08:40
Hi Simon,
Doing AOS. Filed everything on Feb 1. I emailed KCC about my case file and they said my case has been forwarded to USCIS. Does this mean they have forwarded the KCC file to the USCIS field office? Also, DoS CEAC page shows case at NVC. Does it change at all at anytime?
February 29, 2024 at 08:06
In theory it would mean KCC sent the file to the FO if the FO asked for it.
An AOS case will never update from NVC in CEAC

Hi. I have been trying to submit a DS260 for over a month.
First time: Had some browser issues, but eventually click to submit….and the site seemed to get stuck (the wheel just wouldn’t stop turning and eventually I closed the browser.)
Since Then:
1. I have not been able to get the Next: Sign and Submit button on the last review page (Preparer’s Information) to work.
2. Additionally, I’ve noted that on the Preparer’s Information review page, there is no link to go back to edit this information AND in the “Complete” section, there is no subsection for Preparer’s Information at all.
3. When in the Review section, I am not able to navigate to the Preparer’s Information subsection using the navigation buttons on the left. To get to the Preparer’s Information page, I have to get to it by clicking “Next: Preparer’s Information” in the preceding subsection.
I have tried Edge, Safari – a couple different PCs, a Mac, an iPad, I’ve tried from other Wi-Fi networks. I have additionally gone back through the entire Complete section and rewrote everything (in case there was an “auto-complete” issue), I’ve removed any hyphens, and any optional lines that I had previously left blank, Ive filled with “Not Applicable”. The only other thing I can imagine being an issue is that my Beneficiary’s name in her native language does not use Latin characters…..so maybe the form doesn’t like that?
I received the guidance about reading the Selective Service info, however,
A: My Beneficiary is a 34 year old female
B. I don’t even get a screen where this is an option (maybe it’s in the Sign section that I am not able to access?)
I am not able to get Technical Support directly from the DS260 contact us form because apparently my Case Number, issued directly from the US Consulate overseas, requires that the Consulate contact them…and I contact the Consulate. Soooo, I’m unable to be in touch with anyone to troubleshoot this.
I apologize for how long this note is – just hoping to present all the “symptoms” I think I’ve identified in hopes that it helps.
Thanks
February 27, 2024 at 09:55
Don’t use the preparers information page!
February 27, 2024 at 03:08
Hi Brit,
My name in the passport is
first father grandfather family
In the DS-260 I wrote:
family, first father
Is that right, or it should be:
family, first father grandfather
?
Thanks
February 27, 2024 at 12:07
I unlocked the DS-260, should I fix it?
or keep it as it is?
February 27, 2024 at 02:40
Greetings Brit,
The current Visa Bulletin of Feb. shows next month (March), and on the 10th of each month it also shows “Upcoming Visa Bulletin” (April).
The Visa Bulletin shows the following for Egypt:
Feb. 25K
Mar. 25K
Apr. 30K
I am AF29K.
My question is: theoretically, do I have Feb. and Mar. to change my embassy location if I needed and moved to another country (as I am not yet “current” depending on this month’s Visa Bulletin)?
Or am I considered current already right now as it shows that my number would be reached in April?
Thanks
February 27, 2024 at 09:04
You might already be AV status, meaning unable to unlock your DS260.
February 27, 2024 at 10:19
So because it shows 30K in April now, I can’t unlock ds-260?
If I asked them and they accepted meaning that I am not “AV status”?
What does “AV” stands for?
Thanks a lot.
February 29, 2024 at 08:05
AV status occurs once a case is both processed AND current. Once in AV, KCC won’t unlock.
February 27, 2024 at 02:32
Hi Brit,
In the DS-260 it asks if “you lived anywhere other than this address”?
1- Does tourism for a month to three months considered? Or I ignore them?
2- I went for a mission in a country Africa for 5 months (visiting church there), do I add it (after unlocking the form)?
3- I went to UK for 3 months in short-term business, is that considered “living somewhere else”? Do I add it?
4- Would I be asked or expected to bring a police certificate or something from these countries?
Thanks
February 27, 2024 at 08:36
1. That is not residing – hat is visiting.
2. Yes
3. Not as “living there”
4. No. Read the instructions.
February 27, 2024 at 01:42
Sorry I meant receive
February 27, 2024 at 01:41
Hello Brit, please have you by chance heard any receding 2NL in Acc this month?
February 26, 2024 at 20:27
Hello Brit,
My interview date is in April and I’ve booked an appointment for medicals but on the vaccination requirement list for my 1yr old, he requires a covid booster or vaccination. The challenge here is all the hospitals say they don’t administer covid jabs to children. They even go ahead to encourage me to not worry about going the extra mile for a baby since the medical facility would understand that he’s a baby afterall.
Do you think I should not bother too since he’s only a year old and the covid era is even past?
I do not want to be put on 221g simply because my 1yr old couldn’t get a covid jab.
The rest of us adults have taken our booster shots and are medical ready.
Thank you.
February 26, 2024 at 21:04
The physician will take into account what is medically appropriate and available locally. So, don’t worry.
February 26, 2024 at 16:51
Good evening Mr Simon,
Is there any hope for this case number 24AF102422.
Thanks
February 26, 2024 at 17:45
Probably no hope. I can’t see any way that AF region would reach that number.
February 26, 2024 at 10:27
Greetings
My name is Ebenezer from Ghana.
I have a family of 3 girls, a wife so we are 5 in the family
I cannot afford to finance fo all my wife and 3 children including myself.
Can I select myself and only one child and process the DV and later come for my wife and the other children in future?
Does the DV lottery rules allow me to leave a part of my Family behind
Note that I included all of them in the application process
Thank you
February 26, 2024 at 17:44
Yes you can do that, BUT you should understand that processing them later (after DV) will be much slower (years) and probably more expensive.
February 26, 2024 at 07:55
Hello Brit,
I unlocked the DS-260 to change my address, but I will be in that country before the interview with a month or so (I am not sure of the date). But in the DS-260 after the “Present Address” they ask “From date: (mm-yyyy)”. The year is 2024, but I don’t know the month.
What do you suggest?
Thanks.
February 26, 2024 at 09:56
The assumption is that you have already moved here.
February 26, 2024 at 07:23
Hi Simon, I’m curious to know, after sending the ds-260, what kind of checks does the kcc do?
Do you interface with the government of the state of origin?
Thank you
February 26, 2024 at 09:56
They do various background checks and that usually involves some cooperation with other countries. But they don’t provide the details…
February 26, 2024 at 07:09
Hi BritSimon
Do you think I should reopen my ds260 and rectify my middle that changed automatically in system due to my father’s ID renewal. He just opted to other variation of his name that is different from the one I got my ds260. And now I got it on my new ID.
I find it easier for me change the rest of my documents using affidavit of names.
My case number is AF44000
Named used on Ds260 Abderrahmane Beyouh N’theih.
New name on the new ID Abderrahmane Beyah N’theih.
Thank you for your efforts
February 26, 2024 at 09:55
I don’t know what is a “normal” procedure in your country – so use your own judgement.
February 25, 2024 at 20:18
Hi Simon,
We would like to thank you very much for the information you provide on your blog and on your YouTube channel; we watch them with interest and help us to have a smooth DV lottery visa process.
As we are on the short list of cases who got the visa so far this year at Montreal Embassy here are our interview advises for all that are accommodated in a different country that the one of birth:
1. Make sure you have the right documents – mostly for the police check: check the reciprocity by country and provide them the right document.
2. As your interview is in a different country that the one of birth don’t assume they know your language. Each document the process required (even if bilingual) might have words, stamps or notes in a different language than English. Those documents needs certified translation (even for police check).
3. For diplomas make sure you have certified (/ legalized translation) or credential evaluation at an institute recognized by US (like WES); have also ready the transcripts (with translations) – it might be requested.
4. Have copies of bank statements (to prove you can support yourself) in case those are requested.
5. Be honest with the interviewing officer and be accurate in DS-260.
6. Make sure you know the address where you supposed to go.
7. If your partner (that is derivative) had also diplomas (that you filled in DS-260), be prepare with originals diplomas and translations (even if it’s not required for a derivative).
8. Know your travel history!
9. Have all document scanned (including translations) in case the Embassy contacts you back and asks for copies.
10. Be ready to proof your work experience (you can ask the company you are working for, for a letter that shows you work for them for a number of years in a certain position).
11. Be honest (again) and confident!
12. Be honest.
13. Be honest – good luck!
Keep in mind that immigration is not easy but can make your dreams to become reality.
February 25, 2024 at 20:39
Excellent tips. Best of luck!
February 25, 2024 at 03:51
Good morning Sir. I unlocked my DS260 to add my newborn baby and i realised after i finalised the DS260 i made a mistake of one letter on her second name. I’m already scheduled for an interview next month. Will i be able to fix this mistake at the interview??
February 25, 2024 at 09:20
Yes
February 24, 2024 at 16:17
Good day, how long before you travel should you pay for the greencard?
February 24, 2024 at 16:22
I would pay after entry.
February 24, 2024 at 12:15
Hi Brit, We are case # 58k at Nairobi embassy, would you advise it is safe to move our case to Johannesburg to get interviewed by June / July?
February 24, 2024 at 16:21
I think you would be better to stay a NRB, but it is your choice.
February 24, 2024 at 08:10
Can a woman play the DV along with her grand children?
February 24, 2024 at 08:39
People cannot include their grand children in the DV process.
February 24, 2024 at 01:24
Hi Brit,
AF50K, Egypt.
a- You suggested to unlock the DS-260 to change address to a better performing embassy that I could go to. So I just change my present address there, and they will automatically (if all went well), change the embassy location to that address.
b- Someone told me that he went to Nepal with a tourist visa (for a first time before interview schedule), then emailed KCC, and attached the visa and entry stamp, and asked for a change of embassies and they accepted.
What do you think of both options?
Thanks,
February 24, 2024 at 01:50
c- Another one just told me that he also emailed KCC and told them that he would be in in Nepal for work next few months, and they accepted and changed the embassy location.
Won’t just emailing directly be better than unlocking so it doesn’t cause delays? Or what do you think? Thanks.
February 24, 2024 at 08:15
Hi simon, My case dv lottery is 2024AF2xxx i have problem under 221g with shows me in the website refused, so when they will goes me the next stage.
February 24, 2024 at 08:40
Time varies by case.
February 24, 2024 at 08:37
I have answered. You need to decide for yourself now.
February 24, 2024 at 00:21
Hello Simon,
1. Do you think the performance of Beirut Embassy rises a concern as there is no progress till now?
2. As for AS12XXX, I am thinking in moving to Oman just as a backup plan, so would it possible to unlock DS-260 and change address (address of a friend living there), then move to Oman at the time of interview?
Thank you.
February 24, 2024 at 08:35
1. Yes
2. Possibly
February 23, 2024 at 22:26
Hi Brit,
when check the number of cases before and after me in CEAC data, it says the case number is a hole. What does it mean? Should I inquire KCC?
February 24, 2024 at 08:29
It means you entered the number incorrectly.
February 23, 2024 at 19:08
Hi Simon,
Can my wife who is Green card holder petition for me while she is living outside the US?
February 24, 2024 at 08:29
I only answer DV questions.
February 23, 2024 at 11:32
Good afternoon Sir. I’m scheduled for an interview in April, Johannesburg embassy. My partner has applied for an unabridged birth certificate( full birth certificate which is required for South Africans for immigration purposes), but we may only get a copy of it after the interview.
1. Must we ask for a delay or carry on with the interview?
2. Can be refused a visa outright on that basis even if we provide the normal abridged birth certificate and proof of applicaton for unabridged one?? Are we likely to get a 221g refusal provided everything else is in order?
February 23, 2024 at 12:52
1. Have the interview as scheduled. Follow up with the birth cert.
2. You will be on 221g
February 23, 2024 at 13:27
Thank you Sir
February 23, 2024 at 09:39

February 23, 2024 at 12:51
1. I don’t know how the embassy will assess your education.
2. https://britsimonsays.com/education-or-work-experience-qualifying-for-the-dv-lottery/
February 23, 2024 at 05:58
Hi Mr Brit thank you a lot ,i head that
The most important question the CO will ask is what are your plans? During the interview
1)i want to know that I need to tell him with details or the main idea?
2)what are the other potential question that he may ask (for a family)?
3)can you please focus and the interview preparation, and the interview, and the after interview?(It will be very helpful for the all members of the page and your fun)
4) can you make for like a dialogue like you Co and the dv winner on the same time? To explain how I will the look the interview in reality
Thank you so much for all your efforts I hope that you make a video to cover all this parts, because the interview is the most critical time to hole process of the dv lottery pathway
Thank you a alot

Hello Simon, My case No is 2024AF000612XX in Dar er Salaam Tanzania. Is there any chance of me being Scheduled for interview?
Thank you.
February 23, 2024 at 09:15
Maybe.
February 23, 2024 at 03:18
Hello Brit, so I received the 2NL, and my status changed from Transit to Ready however when scheduling the interview at NRB, I get an error message saying my Case number is not yet in the system. What does this mean & an solution?
February 23, 2024 at 09:15
You were told to wait some days before registering. Do that.
February 23, 2024 at 02:18
Hello Britsimon,
My case number (CN) is AF35xxx, and my CN become current last month and my interview date is April 30 at KLL Malaysia.
I have successfully applied for a skill visa (employment visa) in another country, and it has been approved. Considering the time constraints and the urgency of my situation, I am contemplating transferring my DV interview to that country. However, I am unsure about the feasibility of this given that my CN is current. Additionally, I have come across information suggesting that some embassies do not accept transfers of DV cases.
While I am keen not to miss out on the DV opportunity, the validity period of my other visa is running out. The unpredictability of DV outcomes adds to the complexity of the decision-making process. It’s a bit frustrating, and I would greatly appreciate your valuable suggestions on how to navigate this situation.
Best regards
February 23, 2024 at 09:11
I would not risk moving if I were you.

Hi Brit
I am trying to register my interview with SUV Embassy (OC Region) however when I try to sign-up as I am a new user, I get the message “The country you are registering for is no longer active”
Kindly advise what shall I do?
February 23, 2024 at 09:15
Recheck the embassy instructions/website. It sounds like they switched systems.
February 22, 2024 at 10:49
Hi Brit,
My travel history is as follows:
2017: Paris – 2014: Greece – 2008: Kenya
In my original DS260, under: “Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last five years?”
I put them all.
The one in 2017 is like 6 years not 5, and of course the others are within more than the last five years.
I am unlocking the DS260, should I keep them all – remove all but the one in 2017 – remove all?
Thanks
February 22, 2024 at 15:57
No need to remove them.
February 21, 2024 at 23:30
Hello, my number is 2024AF104XXX. With that being a high number, I am currently in Zimbabwe do you think I will get a chance. Or should I start making plans for other ways.
February 22, 2024 at 09:40
I think your case number is too high – not because of your country, simply because I don’t think AF will reach that number.
February 21, 2024 at 13:24
Hi Mr Brit. I won the Dv 2024 for africa AF45XXX. I expect to be scheduled as my embassy is Johannesburg. My 4 year old daughter is unvaccinated for Covid as well as my husband. Must they be vaccinated now or wait until im sheduled and do the vaccinations when its time for the medicals??
February 21, 2024 at 17:27
I would do it ahead of time if I were you.
February 21, 2024 at 12:22
Hello, Simon. I hope you’re doing well. I have an appointment in April and I’m the only person going to the interview. I’ll be traveling to NY. Do I have to bring a bank statement if so how much money is required for 212(a)(4)(A) Public Charge Act and should I fill out the I-134 form. Thank you
February 21, 2024 at 17:26
If you have significant (over $10k) savings of your own, you can just show evidence of that. Otherwise an I-134 can help.
February 21, 2024 at 08:53
Does having a DV entry with the photo not centred correctly disqualify my entry ?
(Photo is professionally taken and full head and shoulders is still in the photo)
February 21, 2024 at 10:53
It is probably fine.
February 21, 2024 at 06:28
Hi Mr Brit. I’m a winner from Africa, AF 3XXXX . I unlock my form because i wanted to get merried, but i receive email that i’m scheduled for for interview in April. I did not finalise my DS260 because have not married yet, its still show open as marriege is set for March 19th . What must i do now so i can go to America with my wife? Do i ask for delay for interview or after marriege i can take my wife to the interview?
February 21, 2024 at 10:52
It was silly to leave the wedding so late. But now you will have to discuss i with the embassy and see what they say.
February 21, 2024 at 12:37
We should have done it earlier but money was a problem. Do I discuss it with the embassy now, after the wedding or at the actual interview? Would I need to book her medical as well?
February 21, 2024 at 17:27
Discuss it with the embassy as soon as possible.
February 21, 2024 at 00:02
Hi Brit,
You are doing a great job in helping us all, as reliable source for information.. You know how the whole thing is hectic, with lots of decision, papers, what ifs.. I’ll be sure to donate something if all went well next year or so..
1- Could you tell me where can I follow up with current interview numbers for Egypt, and Nepal? The link (URL).
2- I am AF50K (Egypt), what I understand is I have to be current in Egypt specifically, in order to have a chance for an interview in Nepal (when I change current address to Nepal), right?
3- After unlocking the DS260, can I put an address of a hotel in Nepal as a “Present Address”?
Thanks
February 21, 2024 at 10:02
1. https://dvcharts.xarthisius.xyz/ceacFY24.html
2. Yes you are not current until the Egypt except number exceeds your number.
3. Well that does not qualify as “residing” there.
February 21, 2024 at 10:31
So, what address in Nepal should I write, if I am using a tourist visa? Would a rented apartment be better? Do they investigate the address, or if I am residing there? As I won’t be renting anything until I know that there is an interview there.
Please advise. Thanks.
February 21, 2024 at 10:54
Strictly speaking you should not be on a tourist visa. You are supposed to interview where you reside.
February 22, 2024 at 10:41
Actual moving to another country is not easy, how can one do that with a job offer or something?!
You don’t know anyone who went for example to Nepal with a tourist visa and had an interview there and got accepted?
February 22, 2024 at 15:57
No I don’t know anyone who moved their case to Nepal with a tourist visa.
February 20, 2024 at 14:45
Good day Brit. My case number is 2024AF29XXX. I sent KCC an email to unlock my DS260 to add my child, and initially they said the information is invalid, but two days letter they sent qn email to show my DS260 has been unlocked. I didnt finalize my new daughter’s DS260 because i was still waiting for her passport to come out. On ceac my DS260 shows reopened and my newborn’s shows incomplete. I received notification that my interview is scheduled for April but it doesn’t include my new daughter. Does this mean i cant add her to my case as it shows its been scheduled already, even though o never refinalized my DS260??

It is normal for the 2NL to not include the newborn, but take the newborn to the medical and interview anyway.

Thank you Sir. Sorry i may sound like i’m repeating questions, but i need clarity on the following:
1. Do i need to finalize my daughter’s DS260 or do i just take her with to the interview?? I didnt complete her DS260 due to her not having passport yet.Can i use my passport number on her DS260?
2. I fear her passport may not be out by the interview date. Should i consider asking the embassy (JNB) to delay the interview for a further month??

1. Yes you must complete the DS260 for her and use your passport number if needed.
2. No. Take the interview and follow up with the passport.

Thank you a lot Mr brit and Mr xarthisius

Xarthisius extracts the data on Friday only. If the embassy has not updated CEAC prior to the extract, then the website won’t show that until the following week.

Good day Mr Brit,
I’m a dv2024 winner from Ghana with cn 7k and the way the Us embassy in Ghana is misbehaving is my cn at risk?
February 20, 2024 at 17:55
If Accra don’t take any interviews then you are obviously at risk. Whether they will take interviews or not – I cannot guess.
February 20, 2024 at 07:39
Hi Brit,
According to the visa bulletin, Egypt will reach 30,000 in April, does this mean that all winners from Egypt that has numbers up to 30K will make interviews in April?
So if Egypt reached 50K in July or August, is thata guatantee that those up to 50K will haver interviews?
Or the visa bulletin numbers are different than the actual numbers that would make the interview?
Thanks

Being current is not a guarantee of interview – there are other factors involved (DS260 processing, embassy backlogs and so on).
February 20, 2024 at 23:26
Thanks, so I have a better chance by changing “Present Address” in the DS260 to Nepal for instance?

Hi simon how are you thank you for you time, I unlock my ds260 and resumit it , but even though I changed my passport because the birth date was errors but i didn’t insert new passport number on ds260 is that okay if i tell them on interview date and also I didn’t authenticate my temporary degree i live in Ethiopia.
February 20, 2024 at 17:53
Yes you can inform about the new passport at the interview.
Follow the embassy instructions for authentication.

Dear Simon;
Would you mind explaining the reasons behind “at NVC” on CEAC data, since the beginning of the fiscal year.
Could they also mean that people had or have not responded?
Thank you
February 20, 2024 at 17:52
At NVC is for any case that is not yet scheduled. That means:
Cases where the DS260 wasn’t submitted
Cases where the DS260 is not processed
Cases not current
Cases at an embassy where there is backlog and the case is not scheduled yet.

Hi Simon,
I am a DV 2024 winner and awaiting 2nl. my case number AF15K.
I once applied for a visit US visa in 2018 and was granted. I travelled to the US in November 2018 but was denied entry in the US, my visa cancelled and was given a 5years ban which lapsed last year November. Reason for all this, i had travelled with my original certificates indication that i had every intention to work once in the US also the duration of stay on the DS160 during application conflicted with what i said to the Homeland security at the port of entry. So based on the above, should i expect all this to come up during the interview? If yes, how should i handle it? Does this reduce my chances of getting a visa?
Kindly advise. Thanks

If it comes up, just be totally honest and open. Accept responsibility for the mistake. Hopefully they will not consider it a problem.

hi Brit, I’ve been following your livestreams for past few months, great content.
My case number is 2024EU 35xxx so if scheduled I expect to get 2NL in July.
1. I am currently living in the UK with my visa expiring early August. I could try to get it extended but no guarantees. Notice period for my job is 3 months. So If I moved to another country(it would be EU country) earliest would be mid/late may.
Woud it be too late to update your country in the DS-260 if I moved in may? You mentioned some DS-260 changes adding months delay, is it one of them?
I do also remember you saying it’s very hard to change embassies after you’ve been scheduled so I want to avoid “I am scheduled, having to leave uk and change my embassy as well” problem
2. I am appling for a new passport, if I get it in may is it also too late to put a new passport and I should do the “take both passports to your interview”?
February 20, 2024 at 17:49
1. May would be OK, or you could leave it as is and travel to the UK for the interview.
2. “take both passports to your interview” – Yep
February 21, 2024 at 05:58
1. how would it work? Let’s say I have to leave UK in Autust 15, I wouldn’t update ds-260 because I would be already scheduled, then I enter UK for like a month as a visitor to do my medical + wait for interview + wait to get my passport back? Also in embassy I would need to tell them that I am living in another country now?
2. So I don’t update ds-260 with new passport when I get it in may?
February 21, 2024 at 10:50
I would schedule the medical before I leave (since you would be scheduled by then) and then just do a quick visit for the interview. You can tell them you moved a short while earlier.
2. No.
This is all your choice – I am just saying what I would do in your shoes.
