Hello Brit,
I am a DV 2025 winner. CN is 2025AS3XXX. Syrian-Canadian born in Syria. My post will be in Montreal. I had my DS-260 unlocked once by KCC and it is filled thoroughly to the notch and resubmitted. It didn’t take much research to realize that Montreal is a black hole for a DS-5535. I have everything in order but I am scared they put me in the DS-5535/prolonged AP/221g then miss out on the visa. Never lived in Syria. Lived in Saudi Arabia from age 0-17 then from 17-Mid twenties in Canada. Single. University student. Currently reside in Canada and have been for the last 7 years.
My dad is a resident in Saudi Arabia. Still has a house and maintains an address and a job there. I have the option of getting a long-term 6-month family based visitor visa in Saudi Arabia that can be extended for another 6 months. Looking at the CEAC data, Riyadh’s performance is phenomenal as opposed to Montreal. Also, less 221g cases.
Given that we are very early in the process for FY2025, do you think switching to Riyadh is a good option? Even if I get 221g, it sounds like it won’t be as dramatic as Montreal. If yes, will being a visitor in Saudi Arabia cause problems? Do I strictly need to be an actual resident with a work/study permit rather than a visitor? I can arrange the visa to be issued and legally stay as a visitor throughout the whole FY. I considered AOS but entering the US as a B2 then adjusting, concerned about fraud accusations. I think it’ll turn nasty so now it’s either Riyadh vs Montreal. Riyadh is growing on me and I don’t know if it’s a good strategy or not. Please share your thoughts. I am willing to sacrifice a year and increase my chances of IV issuance but also want to tackle this the right way.

Overthinking.
Your case number is low, so even if you were to get DS5535 (which ANY embassy could request), you will have plenty of time to be processed.

Hi Simon,
DV2025 – AS16xxx (Singapore citizen and Singapore embassy) but Sri Lankan country of birth.
I know my number is only a tad above the halfway mark, but I have heard you advise that it may be good not to rush the DS 260 in such cases as it can affect non-immigrant travel. As a Singaporean I don’t require a visa but can just travel to the US with ESTA. My question is, if I submit the DS 260 and my DV does not come through, can an immigration officer deny my entry when I land in LAX just for a vacation in future? For added context, until pre-COVID, I used to travel to the US almost every year for a week or 2 on vacation.
Lastly, I have relatives in the US, but I intend to stay on my own in a hotel when I first land until I find a place to rent. Should I be using my relatives address for the Permanent address section of the DS 260?
Thank you so much in advance.
Cheers,
Lorenzo

The DS260 doesn’t normally affect ESTA since ESTA is a NON visa.

Hello Simon! 😊
I’ve got a question regarding the DS260 Form. I won the 2025 DV Lottery (still cant believe it, I am sooo happy!!) and already submited my DS260 Form. In there you were asked to provide all email adresses and social media accounts u’ve used in the last 5 years. I usually use 2 main email adresses, one ending with the german ‘.de’. I tried to enter this one several times but always got an error that its not in a valid format, I guess because of the german ‘.de’. I could only add my ‘gmail.com’ email adress.
Also regarding social media, I provided them several user accounts (instagram, facebook, snapchat etc.) but apparently I forgot to add one user because I havent used in for ages now and the account also doesnt even exist anymore. Since I also never used it for any communication (just registered a few years ago) I totally forgot about it and also couldnt remember the user ID 😥
I’m now really really worried and upset and I dont know what to do. I am ALWAYS 100% honest and would never ever want to hide anything!! Do you think it would be alright to clear this up at my interview and provide them the missing user and the not accepted “invalid” email adress? I dont know if this is such a major issue that I would even ask them to unlock my DS260 or if it is enough to talk to them at the interview appointment. I am really worried now and cant think of anything else 😔😔
Would love to get an advice from you and thank you for your helpful content!!
Greetings from germany

You are over worrying about fairly small details. Relax. Mention it at the interview if you like or ignore the point unless asked about it.
May 13, 2024 at 21:23
Hi Mr. Brit
I was randomly selected to the DV2025, and my case number is AS25xxx I moved to Canada from Lebanon in October 2023, I hold a vocational degree in accounting and auditing from Lebanon and I have a work history in accounting, but my current job is in Canada is Inside sales but I have 3 years experience in accounting in the last 5 years, with your analysis do you think my program rank number is eligible for a green card and when should I fill the DS-260?
Thank you.
May 14, 2024 at 08:59
Your number is pretty high, and therefore might have some risk. We won’t know more about how much risk until July or August.
Because your number is fairly high you could choose to wait to complete the DS260 until after we get the selectee numbers. OR, you could complete now, but understanding that filing a DS260 can make Non immigrant visa applications a little harder.
May 13, 2024 at 20:43
Hello Brit, we are family of three and our case number is AS16*** for DV2024. We closed our DS-260 file last October. So far, we haven’t received any interview notification. Is there any hope for us? Our interview location is Riyadh, but we thinking to switch it to Jordan, Sierra Leone, or Nepal. Do you recommend taking this step now, or it is too late ?
May 14, 2024 at 08:56
Your case number isn’t current yet. I expect it will get current before the year ends, and in that case you will hopefully get an interview in Riyadh. You must make your own decision about whether to move – but to be clear, you don’t just select another embassy, you would change your address to another country.
May 13, 2024 at 16:57
I have a patronymic name on my birth certificate from Kazakhstan and none on my canadian and russian passports. Shall I still include it “name in native language” Name Patronymic Surname in cyrillic? Thank you.
May 13, 2024 at 17:03
P.S. DS-260 completed/submitted
May 13, 2024 at 18:23
Again – the use the DS260 to the full.
May 13, 2024 at 16:55
Hi. DV2025. Is it better to unlock DS-260 now with KCC to correct minor things (another email used, add more social media, one missed address lived) or wait until if and when an I scheduled for an interview and unlock and make changes with embassy? Montreal. Thanks
May 13, 2024 at 18:22
Unlock and correct. Fill in the DS260 *COMPLETELY*. MTL is a bit picky so don’t give them anything to be concerned about.
May 13, 2024 at 13:58
Hi Simon,
I was selected for DV2025 with a low EU case number and I’m thinking about doing an activation trip, going back to the UK to tie up loose ends and returning to the US within 1 year.
I know that I should return within 6 months but I think it can be up to 12 months in the first year. Is this still the case? I saw your other blog post about Visa validity, however it is rather old and I couldn’t find a definite answer to this online so I thought I’d double check.
Btw love your analysis videos as a software engineer myself!
May 13, 2024 at 16:03
Yes It can be up to 12 months. In fact any absence up to 12 months is OK, but slightly more likely to get questioned by an overzealous Border Patrol Agent (who sometimes like to pretend they have power to block your entry).
May 13, 2024 at 11:25
Hi Britsimon,
Upon a recent review of my DS-260, I’ve observed that my high school information was inadvertently omitted from the educational background section, the only information I gave was my highest level of education plus the educational institution (Degree). My case is current with the interview set to take place in a month’s time. I understand that the KCC does not provide an option to unlock the DS-260 form for modifications at this stage. In light of this, I am seeking guidance on whether it is permissible to directly contact the Embassy in Nairobi to request an unlocking of the DS-260 form, thus enabling me to rectify the oversight by including my high school education details.
Furthermore, I am keen to ensure that my application accurately reflects my educational background for consideration during the visa application process. Should leaving this section unaltered inadvertently impact the evaluation process, leading the Consular Officer to potentially prioritize my work experience over educational qualifications, I am prepared to promptly address this concern.
Additionally, I have obtained certified documentation pertaining to my high school education, which I am fully prepared to present to the Consular Officer as necessary.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance or assistance you could provide in this matter.
May 13, 2024 at 11:32
Contact the embassy with a concise explanation and ask them whether they want you to unlock and correct or make the updates at the interview.
May 13, 2024 at 13:18
Thanks for the quick response. Much appreciated.

Hi Simon,
After I’ve been selected for DV2025 I found your YouTube channel and Blog, I have to say that everything is very difficult to assimilate if you want to know more on the process and finding you was awesome!
I have a loot of questions for you, but I will try to have respect of your time:
Some context: My partner (we are not married yet, but is more than 11 years that stay together) 2 years ago decide to give a try with UNITED for Ukraine and moved to Arizona at her Aunt, after 1 year I became Italian (im from Romania originally) and start traveling back and forward with ESTA, last time they took me to second inspection but approved my entry. I came back to Italy in march and took the B1 Visa so I can stay little bit more than 3 months, meanwhile I Won the lottery and now im in suspension and dont know how to procede my life.
1) I Already filled my DS-260 as single (before I discovered your channel) but if we plan to marry can I ask KKC to reopen the ds-260 or is better to bring marriage certificate at interview?
2) Alternatively is better to have the GC and then to get married ?
3) Can I still travel with B1, if refuse my entry I will have problems with GC?
4) My partner she can’t move from USA because will loose the status, so how we can do?
5) My case number is 2025EU35XXX I live in Italy so my embassy is Naples but i see that is less performant than the one in Romania (Bucharest) is that true or is just my impression? if so do you recommend to change it?
6) I’m a software developer so I love math and statistics, based on that seams that 35k is a huge number, but as you said we don’t have enough data to say that, so i’m curious why the number of people is extracted is important? the number of visas depends on that?
Thank you so much!
May 13, 2024 at 11:27
1. You should marry then add your spouse to the case.
2. See 1
3. Don’t risk refused entry. The B1 is not a visa to live in the USA, and you must not work. Respect the rules to avoid losing the chance of a greencard.
4. As long as her status remains valid she can stay and wait to process as your spouse.
5. I don’t recommend changing. No need.
6. The number of people selected is hugely important. IN DV2024 they selected 143000 people, and there are only 55000 visas, so obviously some people miss out. The danger of missing out is higher with a high case number and an over selected year.
May 14, 2024 at 05:35
Thank you so much, I follow up with a reply:
3) absolutely, I’m not planing to work or something else and I will be fool to risk but I bought a motorcycle and I was planing to do a road-trip this summer and then to sell it, so do you think I can still travel to do that? and also if we want to get married I need to reach her somehow because she can’t risk to lose the status 🙁
4) so the steps is
a. get married
b. contact KKC to open the DS260 and add her on that
c. fill another DS260 for her? I’m stuck here 🙁 I mean you said many times that DS260 is not needed if you do a status change so I just put her on my DS260 and that’s it?
6) oh yea I understand that but if they go in selection order the number 36k won’t be 36k in any case?
May 14, 2024 at 10:02
You are a multi question person huh.
3. Yes you can do that, just be careful.
4. It depends how you plan to process. If you want to process CP, and have her interview in an embassy then yes you add her to your DS260 and create a DS260 for her. But AOS might be different.
6. The case numbers have many holes in between, so 36000 doesn’t have 35999 cases in front of it, but every actual case is a person and derivatives. So – we know case number ranges, not how many people are before you. Because of your high case number you should probably wait until we know more before adding her on the DS260 (because of risk to any future NIVs)

Hi Mr Brit,
2025AF4XX
I filled DS260 and sent it. In order to save time until the 2NL is sent to me, should I authentic my credentials and important documents?

Read and follow the instructions so you know what you need to do.

Hi Simon,
I came across your YouTube channel while searching for high case numbers in the GC draw. Thank you for your information on this.
I have now luckily won after the 2nd time in the GC 2025 draw.
Unfortunately, after researching and reading in, I was immediately disillusioned.
My case number is just around 2025EU00031xxx. How do you rate my chances of actually being invited to the consulate for an interview? Can I still hope to have a real chance?
And what do you mean by current case, like the years before? Were the interview dates already closed before September?
Thank you very much for your time and best regards from the north of Germany.

Hi simon what about DV 2020 is that over ?or expired?
May 13, 2024 at 09:55
Still waiting for the appeal.
May 13, 2024 at 09:10
Hi Mr Simon
Previously I asked you but never find my comment So again it’s about the matter where my spouse couldn’t among us to the interview because they won’t release her till she finishes her army contract in December 2025.
Hoping that she could make it in my DS260 I mentioned that she will among us but unfortunately they replied No.
Do I have a problem the day of the interview or I have to correct that in the DS260 once there in the embassy.
Which paperwork do I have to present so that I can among the children with me.
Thanks a lot

Right now we don’t have the selectee numbers for DV2025. Without that, it is impossible to say anything about your chances. We will know more in July/August.
May 13, 2024 at 07:30
Dear BS,
Could you please advise on the following, I did not add any social media info about my spouse is that a serious mistake? however I added my own as Principal applicant.
May 13, 2024 at 08:18
If you are DV2025 unlock and correct.
May 13, 2024 at 06:39
Hi Simon,
As a winner of DV2024 and my case number is still unscheduled. While reviewing my completed DS-260 form, I realized I omitted details of a social media account I previously used and then deactivated. This account was not included in the form originally submitted.
Should I request to unlock my DS-260 form to update this information, or is there another recommendation?
Thank you for your guidance.
Best regards,
May 13, 2024 at 06:43
No need to unlock for that.
May 13, 2024 at 06:33
HELLO BS?got question here need your observation, have got 2 passports:one is the old generation passport that i used to travel to Qatar 🇶🇦,another passport is the new generation passport that the government of Kenya introduced. So when filling my ds 260,i used the new generation passport because its now official document of travelling. The old passport is the one that i used to obtain Qatar Police clearance certificate because you MUST use the document you travelled with it to Qatar so that they give you their QPCC.All the passports i have all my details are the same they don’t differ in any despite passport numbers. So my question is will i go into the interview with both passports?
May 13, 2024 at 06:42
Yes – show the new one, but have the old one as backup.
May 14, 2024 at 06:38
Dear Mr BritSimon
I want to ask a question about the following Ideas.I got this message from telegram written by BritSimon. 1st ,Have you written the following Ideas? IF YOU SAY YES.
2.there jumping of Case Number starting from 22K ?
“Addis will continue at 31 per 1000, and it might increase because of new AV queues at 22k and 26.5K. Two VB’s left, so Addis is probably going to get to around 27/28k, maybe 29K (assuming capacity stays the same). The only way it would get to 38K is a massive increase in capacity.”
This is your message wrote in telegram .
VvThanks for your patient.
May 14, 2024 at 10:07
I wrote that, yes. My point was that the cases per 1000 could increase because at 22k and 26.6K they will probably take some interviews from late processed lower case numbers. That doesn’t mean jumping over case ranges, it means some low case numbers could take some of the interview slots – and we would see that happening for the next two months.
May 13, 2024 at 05:55
Hi Simon,
a quick help from your side, I hope. I am about to pay my USCIS Immigration Fee and there is the section of Payer Contact Info and mailing address.
1. Do I provide my current, still Croatian address or I put a US one?
My arrangements have changed and I have a new address where I will be living and I know I need to give this to US customs and Border Control , as the change came after my interview.
2. In short – which address am I allowed to provide here in this section before paying the fee?
THANKS A MILLION!
May 13, 2024 at 06:16
By referring to the payer – they are basically asking for the billing address of the credit card holder. That address is not where the GC will be sent – which as you said will need to be updated at the POE.
May 13, 2024 at 06:20
THANKS!!!!
May 13, 2024 at 02:45
Hi, Mr. Simon. How are you sir?
I am a silent follower of your page from Ethiopia and being benefitted too much. I would like to thank you for your great job.
As you know ADD is among the bad performing embassies. Recently, I observed an amazing and strange a thing on the cases statuses page. That is, I found the CN 2024AF46114 got ready after CN 2024AF16932, jumping too much in between. Does this mean there are no CNs in between assigned to ADD, DS 260 in between all not processed,..? Or may I suspect some bad action: may be corruption…? If the latter case is possible, where and to whom may I report the issue.
Thank you and hope you all the best.
May 13, 2024 at 05:32
The person with that case was wise (or listened to my advice).
They got assigned/scheduled to another embassy, and once scheduled, they transferred the case to Addis. Nothing corrupt, nothing wrong. It is exactly what I have advised to do on my YT channel a number of times.
May 13, 2024 at 01:36
Hi Brit,
DV-2025 winner here. EU19000
I have 2 questions:
1. Which Middle Eastern countries might pose a delay on the background check? I’ve visited Lebanon for a weekend in 2023 and I’m wondering if it will be an issue.
2. In 2023 I was travelling for almost a month and technically I wasn’t living anywhere between March 1st and March 28th. Shall I leave that month blank, or indicate the address I’ve been having after the 29th?
May 13, 2024 at 05:30
1. A visit like that won’t be an issue.
2. You address history needs to not have gaps. So you “join together” the dates.
May 13, 2024 at 07:06
Thank you for your quick reply.
Meanwhile, and regarding question 1 there’s something else I would like to ask:
1. Can a 5 month exchange program in China in 2019/2020 pose some delays in the background check processing?
May 13, 2024 at 08:19
I don’t know whether it will cause any delay in your particular case, so I won’t speculate.
May 13, 2024 at 01:13
Dear B Simon, I am on DV2025 case number around 7800, which month do you think I might get an interview for Johannesburg South Africa, please advise.
May 13, 2024 at 05:29
Could be in the first 2 or 3 months – wait and see.
May 13, 2024 at 00:52
Hi, Simon
I am a DV2025 winner from Cambodia.
Context: I used to be in the military a long time ago and some of my documents state that my occupation is a military personal, but when I requested for my military record, they said it wasn’t there. I haven’t submitted the ds 260 yet.
Question: what should I do?
May 13, 2024 at 05:28
You will have to use your own judgement.
May 12, 2024 at 23:50
Hi Mr. Simon,
We’re currently living in the U.S. on an L1B and have a DV with EU19xxx.
We are leaning toward doing a consulate processing rather than AOS as I feel there’s less moving parts and less things that can go wrong in the process as it appears much simpler.
From my reading of your charts on embassy data, my embassy in Dublin appears to be a very efficient and well running embassy and it’s unlikely I’d run into any issues with consular processing there, would I be right in that assessment?
Thanks for your time.
– Johnathan Lloydd
May 13, 2024 at 05:25
I did AOS and it is fine. But CP would be OK if you want. Dublin is too small to form an opinion. They haven’t scheduled any cases for several months.
May 12, 2024 at 21:50
Hi Simon,
I found your channel today and want to thank you for providing all the useful information free of charge!
Question: If I wanted to partake in some future DV’s, given historic data, would you recommend me choosing the Netherlands or Algeria as country of eligibility? Does that choice matter at all? (I’m an exception in that I was born in NL and both parents worked temporarily there but are not NL citizens and were born elsewhere, one of them in Algeria). I’m not great at statistics and am not too familiar with the intricacies of DV so I was wondering if with your experience in this field and your statistics knowledge, you could give me a recommendation. Also, I live in Germany if that matters in regards to the probability of getting interviewed (which I wasn’t aware mattered before watching your videos, so thank you for clarifying the whole process).
Thank you very much! Greetings!
May 12, 2024 at 23:29
Your country of birth drives the process – NL.
May 12, 2024 at 23:57
Hi Simon. I asked some questions about the process yesterday, but I can’t see my comments or reply.

Good evening, mr.Simon!
I would be grateful if you could answer my questions. I am having trouble completing the DS-260 form because of them.
My husband and I are citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Currently, we reside in the USA on a student visa (my husband completed his master’s degree and is currently undergoing practical training).
1. My husband has a son from a previous marriage who does not live with us and does not plan to immigrate to the USA. In my green card application, I listed the information about my husband’s son from his previous marriage (although he has no relation to me). I did this only on the advice of acquaintances, without fully understanding the matter. Now that I have won the green card, should I list my husband’s son from his previous marriage in the DS-260 form if he does not live with us and does not plan to immigrate?
2. In Boston, two daughters were born to us, and they are US citizens. When we filled out the green card application on the advice of acquaintances, we did not include them in the section about children. Should I now include them in the DS-260 form?
3. If the information about the number of children differs between the green card application and the DS-260 form for the reasons mentioned above, will this be a reason for visa denial?
4. The Republic of Kazakhstan belongs to which region, Europe or Asia? I don’t know which region my country falls under in the visa bulletin. I apologize for such a silly question, I got a little confused.
5. My case number ends in 40XXX – what are the chances of passing the interview?
Thank you very much for answering my questions,
Best regards,
Mira.
May 12, 2024 at 23:28
1. It was correct to include him on the entry and he should be on both of your DS260s. But because he won’t emigrate, you do not complete a DS260 for him.
2. It is optional. I would.
3. No
4. Your case number contains that information. You should always quote that (and year) with your case number.
5. We don’t have any information on the number of selectees yet. However, your number seems quite high, and therefore risky. You may want to hold off submitting the DS260 as it could affect future NIV applications. If you plan to adjust status in the USA, you don’t need to file the DS260 at this time.
May 12, 2024 at 20:15
Hi Simon,
I’m in the US with an F-1 student visa and legally working full time (work authorization and therefore my status is valid until February 2026). I got selected in DV-2025 (case number EU26XXX so I’m guessing my number will be current sometime around June 2025). I’m a citizen of Turkey and as you know the US embassy in Ankara is notoriously slow. So I will probably do AOS, instead. However, I keep seeing people, especially Turkish people, advise to file DS-260 as soon as possible. Why is that? I know you have already told in some of your videos that filing DS-260 quickly does not provide any advantage, but I’m wondering if it would have an advantage specifically for people who will go through consular processing in slow consulates like the one in Ankara? Does filing it have any advantage in the AOS process at all?
Also, I’m planning to travel internationally in June 2024 and possibly in March 2025, too. I fear if I file DS-260 now, I will have indicated immigration intent, and therefore won’t be able to enter the US on my F-1 visa. It seems like not filing DS-260 is the best decision for me right now. I guess I’m trying to make sure I’m not making any strategic mistakes by not filing it. I might needed it if I were to be laid off and have to go back to Turkey and go through consular processing. If I have to go through consular processing, could filing it in the feature as opposed to now come back and bite me? Thank you so much in advance for the response!

DS260 is optional in AOS – so honestly there is no point at all filing it now.
Your choice is simple – ANK probably won’t interview you, based on current performance.DS260 is not an advantage in AOS, but the immigrant intent issue you mention is when apply for a new NIV, not using the existing one.

Hi Brit, I was selected for further processing in the DV-2025 lottery (case number EU12XXX). Currently, I’m residing in the US with my wife and child on an L1-B visa. I’m weighing my options for completing the green card process: adjustment of status within the US or consular processing in Germany. While adjustment of status seems convenient, I’m concerned about potentially longer processing times. Is there a riskier option in your experience, considering my current visa status?
Thanks for your guidance and support! Best, Julian

I used AOS in my own case – it has several pros – but it is your choice. There will be plenty of time (DV cases process faster).

Hi Brit,
Because we had 6.5K jump in EU for July, do you think there is a higher chance of staying at 27.5K in August or increase?
May 12, 2024 at 23:14
Even I can answer that for Simon.
It is extremely unlikely (though technically possible) that they don’t increase the VB in August, simply because they are still very far from the quota and the July’ jumps showed us that they’re at least trying to approach it by the end of the year.
Just like they have no reason to put the region ”current” they have no reason to stay at 27.5k.
Now will it be a small jump or a big jump, no one can tell. The July push will put a strain on many embassies that will last well into August for some embassies. So they can decide to progress slower for August to keep breathing space OR to continue pushing in order to rely on high performing embassies and give more chances to higher cases. It’s a fifty-fifty chance, really.

Good answer.
May 12, 2024 at 23:19
I will wait and see.
May 12, 2024 at 14:41
Hello Simon. How are you . I wish you eternal happiness. Thank you for the great and wonderful effort you do. How long does it take to print the visa after it has been approved at the interview?
May 12, 2024 at 23:18
Usually within a week.
May 12, 2024 at 13:05
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your amazing videos.
I won the lottery for 2024-2025.
I Have quotations :
1 – do i need to make my medical before the interview ?
2 – in one of my travel in the past year i overstay my visa in one of the schengen Area for a reason but i travel back as soon i can, would this lead to any problem or refusal ?
Once again thank you for your amazing help.
Thank you,
May 12, 2024 at 23:18
1. Yes, you book it when you get your 2NL (interview schedule)
2. Not usually a problem.

Hi Mr Simon
I have some issues about filling Ds 260 ,because I’m holding two passport One of them is diplomatic passport and the other one is normal one which one is preferred to fill with it my information.and there little bit different in this information like number of passport and place of birth . Can you help me with that.
[email protected]
May 12, 2024 at 09:45
All I can say, is complete the DS260 completely and honestly. You won’t be required to show both passports at the interview, so this seems like a “non issue” no me.
May 12, 2024 at 09:19
Hey Brit, hope you are well. So basically, I had moved my embassy from Ankara to Frankfurt since I was going to travel for a study program and since Ankara was performing badly. Now, my number is AS 13130 and it is basically confirmed that I will go current next month. However, this means my interview will be sometime in August. My visa here in Germany is till the 31st of July. Do you think there is anything that can be done in this situation? I am already trying to extend my visa here till September but if that does not work, I am not sure what I could do.
May 12, 2024 at 09:22
You would have several options, including transferring back to ANK (AFTER being scheduled).
May 12, 2024 at 09:27
Could you please expand on those options, I would really appreciate it. And how could I transfer back to a badly performing embassy?
Thank you.
May 12, 2024 at 09:43
Well you could have options to stay in Germany, or return to it for the interview.
After you have been scheduled, you can ask for a transfer (asking ANK first). It is not only possible, but people have successfully done it. For example, case number EU8092 is issued from ANK – after originally being scheduled in Belgium.

Hi BritSimon,
I came across your YouTube channel while searching for high case numbers in the GC draw. Thank you for your information on this.
I have now luckily won after the 2nd time in the GC DV2025 draw.
Unfortunately, after researching and reading in, I was immediately disillusioned.
My case number is just around 31,000. How do you rate my chances of actually being invited to the consulate for an interview? Can I still hope to have a real chance?
Thank you very much for your time and best regards from the north of Germany.
Daniel

Right now we don’t have the selectee numbers for DV2025. Without that, it is impossible to say anything about your chances. We will know more in July/August.
May 12, 2024 at 06:55
Hi! What is the safe time frame to submit a DS-260 with a low case number if I can not submit right away due to some circumstances? Thank you.
May 12, 2024 at 08:25
People will be submitting DS260s well into next year.
May 12, 2024 at 06:36
Hi Brit,
Thanks for all the care and attention you give to your followers,
we’re Egyptians, and my wife is the main applicant for DV 2024 our case no. is AF202478xxx we live in Kuwait, so we chose the Kuwait embassy for our interview, and now the question is, should we follow the visa bulletin for Africa (80,000) or Egypt (40,000)? and is there a chance to get an interview?
May 12, 2024 at 08:24
If your case is charged to Egypt you follow that number, not AF.
It’s a very high case number for Egypt. It’s risky.
May 12, 2024 at 06:20
Hello Britsimon.
Considering the performance of the Yaounde embassy,
1)Do you see them scheduling up to 58k maybe to maintain their 9k backlog.
They are currently at 48k for June Interviews.
Anything less than a 10k jump for July interviews at that embassy which is considered good will mean they have slowed down at a time booth good and bad embassies are adjusting to meet the current visa bulletin.
May 12, 2024 at 08:23
Let’s wait and see whether they increase their capacity.
May 12, 2024 at 06:07
Hi, do I have a chance to get invite to interview? (2024EU00057227)
May 12, 2024 at 08:22
Honestly, no.
May 12, 2024 at 05:05
Hi Brit, my CN is 2024AF72xxx, YDE embassy. Following your videos i think i made a mistake while filling my DS260 form, I didn’t add my FB account as at the moment i had lost my phone and i didn’t have access to my FB accounts. I stopped using the accounts years ago and deleted all my pictures from it. Actually i have two i dont longer use, no activity, but recently i was able to retrieve both accounts and i still don’t use them.
Knowing that i have 3 questions.
1. Probably i might get current next VB, Do you think i should move my case out of Cameroon to another embassy or it is safe to say they will get to my CN my September ?
2. My aim of retreiving the accounts was to delete them as i don’t longer use FB, is that a good idea?
3. Or would it be safe to contact KCC asking them to unlock my DS260 so that i can add my FB details
NB: The only social media platform i put was LinkedIn
May 12, 2024 at 08:22
1. Probably OK in Cameroon.
2. No – it looks suspicious.
3. Don’t do that – it’s normal to make minor omissions in SM

Hi Simon! I’m an Oceania 25xx selectee for DV-2025. If the holes distribution was similar to DV-2024, do you think 25xx would have any hope? I’ve been looking at Xarthisius’ past DV data and have watched a heap of your videos. It seems OC has a 3800 max case number for ’25 instead of a 5000 max in ’24. I understand July/August total selectee data affects your predictions greatly. Thank you for all that you do.
May 12, 2024 at 08:18
You really need to wait to see the data in July/August. Just understand that DV2024 was hopelessly over selected, more so in OC than other regions.
May 12, 2024 at 02:17
I am unable to recall whether I indicated myself as married or single on the DV Lottery 2025 entry application ?
May 12, 2024 at 08:16
Always telling the truth is so much easier.
May 12, 2024 at 00:15
Hello my case number is 2024EU321xx ,is there any chance that this number will become current next visa bulletin?if my case becomes current can KCC schedule my interview appointment since I submitted my DS 260 early in May 2023. How is DHB embassy performing,is it taking enough cases? thank you for your answer
May 12, 2024 at 08:15
That number has a chance, we just have to wait and see. DHB is OK, close to the current number.
May 11, 2024 at 21:28
good evening in CEAC data 2024 in the table on today’s date where they mentioned (issued at the bottom in the last column Total there are 24181 for 11934 files) for the moment this is the number of visas issued?.
May 11, 2024 at 23:37
You mean does the issued column contain the issued visa numbers?
May 12, 2024 at 10:12
hello I would like to know how many visas have been issued since the beginning.
May 11, 2024 at 17:03
Hello sir, my case number Dv2025 …AF 72k… Please, when do you think is advisable to Fill the DS260 ..i have all necessary documents now….can i file in Now?
May 11, 2024 at 18:48
You can file now if you want, but you will still have a long time to wait.
May 11, 2024 at 16:26
Madrid or Frankfurt 2024 EU 46k trying not to lose it :). Heard you say today that you’d prefer Madrid if you had the choice to another guy. Why? Less busy, feels more personal and less like a number in a factory? Also: Could it be that we are overseeing that USCIS’s FDNS upped their game, not only punching more holes, but also scrutinizing the DS-260 in more detail, allowing for early filed, processed by now, clean applications, at well performing embassies to have a chance as KCC would need to make higher case numbers current to compensate for higher rejections? Two more months to maybe certainty. What does the crystal ball say now? I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that contrary to what you are indicating, they have had a plan, a mathematically more informed model in mind to come up with so many cases. I know you’ll say I am overestimating.
May 11, 2024 at 18:47
Well you see things differently to me. Only time will tell who is right or wrong. I hope I am wrong.
May 11, 2024 at 16:06
Hi Mr Simon
At DS260 at section adress i wrote just at country and city, at state/province i wrote does not apply or dont know cause in my country we have just city and county

May 11, 2024 at 18:45
That’s OK
May 11, 2024 at 16:06
Hi simon!
From Russia case number 2025 EU23XXX.Currently live in Russia. My wife is ethiopian. It will be next to impossible for us to get visas to Poland Warsaw for an interview due to obvious reasons. We are thinking of moving to Ethiopia this comming autmn if it will help our chances of getting an interview. But are worried it will be in vain since the embassy in Addis Ababa has a reputation for underperforming.
What do you thing our chances are? And when should we fill out the ds260 form? should we wait till we have relocated?
Thanks
May 11, 2024 at 18:44
It would be a terrible idea to move your case to Addis. As a Russian you can choose another embassy where you can get to.
May 13, 2024 at 06:38
If you have issues with schengen visas, maybe you should consider Belgrade embassy ?
May 11, 2024 at 16:03
Hi Brit Simon, religiously and customarily married for 7 years with 2 kids will DV Interview officer accept that as marriage? Please advise
May 11, 2024 at 18:42
Depends on the laws in that country. Generally it is safer to consider that unmarried, unless supported by a legal marriage.
May 14, 2024 at 03:49
HI Brit I send my greetings to you Sir .. I’m here seeking guidance . My wife won a US green card, and currently, our case is on current for interviews… My wife, as a principal applicant, has got a high school degree with good grades..but me as a husband and accompany don’t have a high school degree…… my question is do i stand a chance
May 14, 2024 at 09:50
Your education is not important, only hers is important as she is the principal selectee.
