Hi Brit, there is only one bulletin left and my case number is in the region of AF86k for DV 2024…do you see any realistic opportunity?
June 12, 2024 at 08:57
I guess we will know for sure in a month.
June 11, 2024 at 22:14
Hi BritSimon
Please I would like to unlock my ds 260 form to change the US address my case number is AF20252652(Ghana)am I safe to unlock it? Thanks
June 11, 2024 at 22:29
Yes
June 11, 2024 at 20:44
Hi Simon
My case number is 2024EU319XX. What is the chance if it going current next month. i thought this month we ll go to atleast 32k but i was disapointed seeing 30k only. Do u think they may just keep it at 30k or they ll go higher? from 27500 to 30000 there are less than 750 cases which is low. Africa got 2000 cases jump this month which is 3 times more than EU. What is your opinion
June 11, 2024 at 20:48
I expect another increase next month so be patient.
June 11, 2024 at 19:25
Hello Simon, I am a dv 2024 selectee with case number AF16k from Ghana. With the recent changes in the rules about moving to a different embassy that you mentioned in the video you made, is it possible to move my case (which I believe is in NVC cue) to a different embassy?
June 11, 2024 at 19:33
It is possible, but hard. You have made it harder by leaving it so late.
You would have to move to another country, and then persuade the embassy there to ask KCC to reassign your case to them. That is harder than it sounds – but it’s your only chance.
June 11, 2024 at 20:50
Please help me draft a persuasive mail, or at least give me some pointers.
June 11, 2024 at 22:29
I have no tips to give. Successes have been rare.
June 11, 2024 at 18:31
Hi Simon, sorry for this very stupid question: is the cut-off exception (eg. Russia 29.500 in EU for July’s bulletin) related to embassies OR the chargeability country of a selectee? Thanks.
June 11, 2024 at 18:42
chargeability country of a selectee
June 11, 2024 at 15:45
Hi Brit, I have some questions regarding the visa bulletin.
My case number 2025SA20**, I am in embassy Montevideo, Uruguay, how fast is this embassy moving?
Then, regarding de visa bulletin, I do not understand very well. How is it that in June 2025, we are seeing released, Visa Bulletin of August? Is this saying that next month, July visa bulletin is September 2024? Does this mean that from next month the visa bulletins that will come out, are 2025? Is the first Visa Bulletin that comes out in August, the first 2NLs that come out for us DV 2025 selectees? Sorry but it is a bit confusing for me. I am hoping to get my 2NL for December 2024 or January 2025, am I looking this right or am I seeing it wrong? Thank you very much.
June 11, 2024 at 16:15
MTV has very few cases assigned to it each year, so there is no track record to compare against.
The first VB and 2NLs for DV2025 will be published in August, but you will probably get your 2NL in the early months of next year.
June 11, 2024 at 15:14
Hello Mr Simon
My interview was held on June 7 and the consular officer told me that my visa has been approved but the status of my visa on ceac says “administrative processing”. Is it normal? When it will be changed to ” issued “?
June 11, 2024 at 15:48
It will become issued within a few days. Patience.
June 11, 2024 at 15:07
My CN is 2024 EU 17.4K, consulate is ABD, which is heavily backlogged.
Shall I still hoping?
June 11, 2024 at 15:48
Yes
June 11, 2024 at 14:41
Hello Simon,
(1) My number became current in EU30.000, and today morning our embassy released interview dates until 29100. How do you think is interview invitation comes only once a month, or can we expect it this month as well?
(2) Is it possible that numbers after 29100 wont be invited, as visa might be finished?
Thank you very much!
June 11, 2024 at 15:47
It’s a shame you didn’t provide the embassy. But no, visas have not run out. As for more 2NLs will be sent – we will see in due course.
June 11, 2024 at 19:34
If your case number is EU30,000 exactly (according to CEAC data it’s not a hole) then you are not current yet. 30,000 in the VB means all numbers BELOW it are current.
June 11, 2024 at 12:14
Hi Britsimon
My case number is 2024AS23***, still Can I have a hope? Or should I give up?
June 11, 2024 at 14:08
It is probably too high, but you will know for sure in a month from now.
June 11, 2024 at 11:25
Hello Mr. Simon, I’m DV 2025, selectee from Liberia and my case numbers is (2025AF81119) but people
are saying that it too high, will I go for interviews
June 11, 2024 at 14:05
It is too soon to know anything because we don’t know how many people are selected. You have to wait until we know more.
June 11, 2024 at 10:05
Hi, BritSimon,
Dv2024 AF693xx , interview location is Perth, Australia. When to expect 2nl?
June 11, 2024 at 10:37
Maybe in August.
June 11, 2024 at 09:55
Hi BritSimon,
My case number is 2024EU374xx. I am currently living in the U.S. and am eligible for AOS.
Would you pay the DV visa fee now, knowing that my case number might not become current?
June 11, 2024 at 10:55
I guess that depends on whether it is one person, or a large family. I might be prepared to write of one fee of $330 as a worthwhile gamble, by a family of 6 might be a different decision.
I also think I would be more nervous about that now after the latest VB than if the VB had been released at 32/33
June 12, 2024 at 08:17
Hi BritSimon,
Does this mean that you expect that final cut should be somewhere between 32 and 33 k for DV2024 for EU, based on comment above, not more?
Thanks.
June 12, 2024 at 08:56
No – I was saying that this person (with a 37K number) could have felty more comfortable if the August number was higher than the 30K it was. Then there would be less of a jump between the two months, theoretically more chance.
June 11, 2024 at 09:36
Hi Simon,
1. Is there opportunity that EU region for 2024 ends bellow 31k in September in this fiscal year, or even remain on 30k like in August and not move at all?
2. How big jump do you expect out of statistics results ’till now and with data for July and August, can it go over 31 k at least, that is by Xarthisius not even 300 new cases as I understood from your videos and his charts?
3. Would stopping movement in last month for DV2024 surprise you, or it might happend?
4. What would be reasons for that behaviour?
Thanks in advance.
June 11, 2024 at 10:57
1. It can happen (technically speaking), but I think that is unlikely.
2. We will have to wait and see.
3. See 1.
4. That would mean they take more interviews within the numbers already current.
June 11, 2024 at 09:10
Hi sir, please is it the case that when I unlock my DS 260 and do the necessary corrections I have to print a new confirmation page. Thank you.
June 11, 2024 at 10:29
Some embassies like to see that confirmation page – so yes.
June 11, 2024 at 07:30
Once the case number is current and the embassy schedules the interview, will they still apply the order of the case numbers for appointments? Or will they look at the date DS-260 was submitted?
And how are the chances for an August interview in Frankfurt with CN 293xx?
June 11, 2024 at 10:24
AV queues (which is a monthly process of ordering the cases for a particular embassy) are compiled in case number order.
June 11, 2024 at 07:09
Hello, Simon
May I have a question about ds-260 submission
My case is 2024EU205** already current since last month, but still no 2NL (Bangkok)
We submitted DS260 12 AUGUST 2023. Do you think the reason we get delay 2NL because we did late submission?
Regards
Elena
June 11, 2024 at 10:22
No. It would be because of capacity at the embassy. You should get the 2NL this month (August interview)
June 11, 2024 at 11:39
Hello, Simon.
Thank you for your answer. 2NL for Bangkok has been released and I still not receive anything. I don’t know what is wrong with my case, I emailed KCC to get the status of my ds260 and it “has been processed” since last month, but my friend who has 2000 CN higher than me already got 2NL in Bangkok. There is a rumour that 2NL is randomly processed not everyone who got current will have interview even a low case number, is that true?
June 11, 2024 at 14:06
The rumor of random processing is only among people that don’t know what they are talking about.
Just relax and be patient.
June 11, 2024 at 05:22
MR simon sir,
will the refused visas will be given and adjusted to other selectees or it will be not?
June 11, 2024 at 10:08
Yes.
June 11, 2024 at 04:08
Hello Simon, I am from Nepal DV2024 AS129**. After the recent VB where it shows 12000 for Nepal. What do you think about my chances in next VB?
June 11, 2024 at 09:55
You have a chance.
June 11, 2024 at 02:46
Hi Mr.Brit Simon, Thanks for your all efforts.
1. Will Asia reach its full visa quota?
2. How many visas can we expect for Asia?
3. What will be the maximum cutoff number?
June 11, 2024 at 09:53
1. I don’t know.
2. I don’t know.
3. I don’t know.
June 11, 2024 at 02:26
Hi sir,
According to the recent VB which has been released, is there any chance for 2024EU321xx In the final VB? thank you!
June 11, 2024 at 09:52
Yes, there is still chance.
June 11, 2024 at 02:03
Hi brit my graduation was in 2022 and the date of completion of course was in 2021 i put 2022 as end date on my ds-260 should I unlock and put 2021 or make correction during interview amd i have asked to unlock once will that not be an issue
June 11, 2024 at 09:48
It helps to give me context (such as case number) when you ask questions.
If you are DV2025 I would unlock and correct.
If you are DV2024 I would leave it as is and correct if asked at the interview.
June 11, 2024 at 00:13
For the question regarding pevious visa refusals, should my husband indicate “yes” in response to whether he has ever been refused a visa for any country, given his prior denial under section 221g? And if me and my daughter also have to say “YES” if we apply for tourist visa to usa or any other country? thank you for kind response earlier.
MUCH APPRECIATED.
June 11, 2024 at 09:34
No – 221g isn’t a final refusal.
June 10, 2024 at 23:44
Hola Señor Simon, is CN till AS18k safe for the last Visa Bulletin?
June 11, 2024 at 00:08
I can’t say it is safe.
June 10, 2024 at 23:38
My spouse was selected in the DV2025. Her surname in the Entry was abbreviated mistakenly and not entered fully as it appears in her passport/birth certificate. Filling the DS-260 and the surname was maintained as an abbreviation and submission was not possible when entering the full name. Would that be a problem during the interview? Can this be corrected? Should she request for unlocking?
June 11, 2024 at 00:06
The ds260 should have the correct legal name. The only limitation might be the length.
June 13, 2024 at 02:58
Thanks Simon. Based on your response would you recommend to unlock the ds260 to enter the full legal name?
June 13, 2024 at 09:21
Yes
June 10, 2024 at 22:38
Hi sir ,
What are the key document visa officers use for check our name accuracy?
June 11, 2024 at 00:03
Birth, marriage and passport.
June 10, 2024 at 20:50
Hi BritSimon
By increasing ”only” from 27,500 to 30,000 in the last VB, do you think EU can still reach its full quota this year ?
thank you
June 11, 2024 at 00:02
Yes.
June 11, 2024 at 01:27
Hi Joel, what do you mean by full quota?
June 11, 2024 at 09:43
There is a quota of 55k visas globally, which is then broken down to regional quotas. The quotasare established by a formula to do with previous immigration numbers and combined population of the countries in each region. They are (approximately)
AF – 23.5k
AS – 9k
EU – 20k
OC – 900
SA – 1500
June 11, 2024 at 01:37
Hello BritSimon, what do you estimate for Europe, what quote is possible 33000-35000? Thank you
June 11, 2024 at 09:45
Quota and VB numbers are not the same . You are asking about VB numbers. My estimates haven’t changed from January where I said a minimum of 31K and I hoped to see 35 to 37 as a sweet spot. Obviously the trend looks like somewhere above my minimum number, but how close the the 35/37 we will have to wait and see.
June 11, 2024 at 10:22
Would you say that 35K is the minimum needed to reach the full EU quota, or 33-34k could do it too ?
June 11, 2024 at 10:36
As I already said, it would be possible by 31K – but that takes more efficiency in the embassies to “fill in” the numbers that are current.
June 11, 2024 at 11:24
Well then it would take MAJOR inefficiency for them to need to go to 35k or more.
Very likely they won’t go above 33 or 34k, maybe 34.5 or 35 but not more.
June 12, 2024 at 23:27
Would you be out at 31000 if you had a 31300? Thx
June 13, 2024 at 09:17
Your case number must be LESS than the VB number.
However, I expect an increase above 31300 for the final VB.
June 11, 2024 at 14:04
Would you be out at 31000 if you had a 31300? Thx
June 10, 2024 at 20:33
BULA SIR,
My husband won the dv lottery 2025 OC2XX .
We did won it on 2022 but unfortunalety the consular denied him in 221g for a visa after one week of holding our passports, as he did not qualify for education as he did not pass his high school education and his 22years of exprience as a fabric cutter and life jacket designer was not meeting the SVP.
And now he has enrolled in a university for plumbing 6months course before we came to know he won the lottery this year too.
Should we proceed with the dv lottery or will be denied again???
June 10, 2024 at 23:54
Being enrolled in university doesn’t improve the chances of approval.
June 10, 2024 at 18:35
Hi Simon! Well, the August bulletin finally came out and SA is at 3150. Do you think it will go up to 3900? Or do you think it does not exceed 3150? I don’t know whether to keep waiting or go for an E2 visa. so as not to continue waiting in vain. If the bulletin does not go up, can the cases that follow be called for the rejected cases or do they have no replacement? thank you! from Argentina.
June 10, 2024 at 19:08
I think we must be close to the final number. As I said this weekend, I don’t think we will see a number of 3500.
However, in about 1 month you will know for sure.
June 10, 2024 at 17:36
Hey BritSimon. End of the line for OC region you think?
June 10, 2024 at 18:35
We might see a small increase for September – 100 or *maybe* 200. All we can do is wait and see.
June 10, 2024 at 17:34
Hello Brit I am Ethiopian Addis Ababa my case number is 47k DV 2024 in the last week new policy this means move embassy my case number is current can change my case to onther country location change please tell me that Brit thank you for helpinge
June 10, 2024 at 18:36
You should have moved your case LONG ago. You might still be able to do it, but it is not easy.
June 10, 2024 at 15:02
Hello, I have a question about DV2025 DS260
My primary occupation is Logistics, so i should put it as “OTHER” occupation
I got 2nd work as Self-Employed now and i should put it as “OTHER” occupation as well in a question that called “Have you have other occupation?” but it doesnt let me to do it because of “Duplicate Occupations provided” error. What should i do in this case? Should i answer as NO in “Have you have other occupation?” question or there are a better solution for this case?
June 10, 2024 at 18:02
You can use your own judgement in how to represent your work.
June 10, 2024 at 14:58
Hi Brit Simon,
This weekend, you made a prediction that there will be a jump for Asia around 2000-3000, and it happened like that. In January, you made a prediction that Asia will have a chance up to 25,000. Is it possible?
Thanks.
June 10, 2024 at 18:00
It’s a funny aspect of human behavior that we only listen to (or remember) what we want to hear. In my January video I said that the danger range could be as low as 17k but 25K was my highest (most optimistic) range. So – I actually said the final cutoff would be between 17 and 23/24k. I then said **maybe** 25k. I think that is still the case, and see 20/21 as the sweet spot **IF** they want to issue the full quota. However, I also think the numbers are trending lower in general so would not be at all surprised if we finish up at 17 – 18K.
June 10, 2024 at 14:55
EU30500 🙁 can’t take the pressure…
June 10, 2024 at 14:46
Hi sir,
According to the recent VB which has been issued, any chances for AS1609× ?
Really disappointed.
June 10, 2024 at 14:51
I think you will get current next month.
June 10, 2024 at 15:10
Thank you, sir.
June 10, 2024 at 14:41
1. My case number is 2024AS21***, do I have a chance?
2. Do you still stand with your prediction which you made for Asia on January 2024?
June 10, 2024 at 14:49
1. Maybe
2. Yes
June 10, 2024 at 14:38
Hi Brit,
50K Egypt (in Nepal Embassy).
Today the Bulletin reached 50K (my number) for August.
1- When should I expect the email for the interview (that’s called 2nd, right)?
2- Is there a link (like CEAC) that I could follow new info about my case?
Thanks
June 10, 2024 at 14:50
1. https://britsimonsays.com/visa-bulletin-for-august-2024-interviews-released/
2. Just CEAC
June 10, 2024 at 14:20
Hi Simon, 2024AS18000 is there still a chance after the new visa bulletin
June 10, 2024 at 14:48
Yes
June 10, 2024 at 14:16
Hi Brit… 2024 August VB has just released and Asia is current upto 15000 as u have expected. I am from Sri Lanka and my cn is 167Xx. Do I have a chance for an interview scheduled after last vb in next month?
June 10, 2024 at 14:17
I think so.
June 10, 2024 at 11:35
Is it ok to do the interview 3-4 weeks prior the interview?
June 10, 2024 at 10:44
Hi Simon,
Can you help me to understand why AS region 2024 DV lottery is so slow with visa availability? I am currently in the US for school and my case number is 2024AS000293xx. Can I submit my documents to change my status for Green Card now even though my visa availability is not yet current? I’m from Cambodia. There are less Cambodian populations in the US. Do you think I will win the case if I submit my documents now for the green card?
June 10, 2024 at 11:53
You cannot adjust status until your case number is below the VB number.
The reason it appears “slow” to you is that you expect them to reach your case number. The reality is they don’t need to make your number current in order to issue enough visas. They massively over selected in DV2024 so there are a great number of people who won’t get current, and who will just lose their chance. I suspect you will be among those.
June 11, 2024 at 02:11
what do u predict about about AS19xxx for Iran? would it be possible?
June 11, 2024 at 09:51
Unlikely – but we will see.
June 12, 2024 at 12:54
Thank you for your response. I paid diversity-processing fee after I learned that I was selected for DV 2024. I think I have received 2NL from KCC in Jan, 2024. For that reason, can I file for green card by now? However, 2NL says that I need to wait for visa availability before I can file adjustment of Status.
June 12, 2024 at 13:21
No. Just as I told you before, unless your case number becomes current, you cannot file to adjust status. Your case number is quite high, and very unlikely to become current in the final month.
June 10, 2024 at 10:26
Hola Simón…soy de Cuba
Si mi niño que es derivado mío vive en Guyana no representa ningún problema????
Puede hacer su entrevista por Guyana???
June 10, 2024 at 11:51
He should interview with you for simplicity and minimum risk.
June 10, 2024 at 07:44
Hello Brit,
Question regarding “Have you ever been refused a U.S. visa, been refused admission to the United States…”.
My Mother won GreenCard lottery around 20 years ago, I was derivative, but filed to pass the interview. I’m not certain if I should reply “yes”, another thing is that I don’t really recall all details about this and it’s not possible to ask my Mother.
Could you please advise how would it be correct to answer his question?
June 10, 2024 at 11:47
If you were a child, I would answer no. Your mother was refused, not you.
June 10, 2024 at 06:42
Hi Simon,
First of all, thank you for the valuable information you provided. I am waiting for an appointment in Warsaw for EU25XXX. In your opinion, does it seem possible for us to make an appointment for this case number range? Do you have any suggestions? Like case transfer etc?
June 10, 2024 at 11:42
Are you Russian? That could impact the math. OK – here is the math.
WRW takes about 54 cases per thousand case numbers. That number could drop with the Russian cutoff. But I will ignore that possibility (if it happens it could help your chances)
They are currently up to 21.6K so depending on where in the 25k range you are, you would need them to interview between 180 and 240 cases in the next two months. Their capacity for July was 107 and their best monthly capacity was 143. So – I think it is likely that you will get interviewed in WRW, probably in September.
June 12, 2024 at 10:40
No, I’m not Russian. I guess this good possibility has become impossible with the latest VB. I think 2024EU255xx for Warsaw is completely left to chance. Will moving to another consulate within Europe increase my chances?
June 12, 2024 at 12:08
Yes, but moving won’t be easy as you are now in AV status at WRW.
June 10, 2024 at 05:28
As you explained Frankfurt ist not heavily backlogged but is it even ok for case number 30500?
June 10, 2024 at 11:24
Yes
June 14, 2024 at 09:59
Hello Simon, kindly clarify on when the visa expires. If i do my interview in June and its approved, does it mean i can enter US by December or September?
June 14, 2024 at 11:45
It expires 6 months after the medical.
June 10, 2024 at 05:27
How much time is needed for the medical and visa interview because I have to travel to India?
Thank you!
June 10, 2024 at 11:24
The medical should happen a week or two before the interview.
June 10, 2024 at 05:23
Hi Simon, thank you for your guidance.
After becoming our case number current and receiving 2nl, how long may we postpone our interview date? For example, if my case number AS9XXX becomes current in March 2025, may I postpone it until mid-July 2025 due to J1 home residency?
June 10, 2024 at 11:24
You delay DS260 submission to achieve that.
June 10, 2024 at 05:17
Hi BritSimon
Do consular officers read your DS-260 in full or they only go check some answers ?
Thank you!
June 10, 2024 at 11:23
I suppose that varies by CO.
June 10, 2024 at 16:03
Hello mr brit simon .I have been current since last month.case number AF 67k in djibouti. Should i expect 2Nl the following days? Thank you
June 10, 2024 at 18:05
You can hope for that.
June 11, 2024 at 02:44
Personally I don’t think they do. That’s a pretty long form and interviews don’t last that long. There’s almost no way they have time to read it in full.
Maybe sometimes they do after the interview, during AP? But I think it’s more of a rare/random double check than routine practice.
