hi brit
my friend had his interview in may in amman and the counsel told him everything looks good and he is to wait for his passport with in 5 days
he received his passport with administrative processing containing 10 questions he answered them and sent it to the embassy
and he has been waiting for more than two months what do you think about that
July 15, 2024 at 21:26
That is fairly typical for ds5535 background screening.
July 16, 2024 at 04:35

July 17, 2024 at 16:22
hi ahmed

Hi Simon,
Is Naples considered a large or small embassy?
July 15, 2024 at 21:24
Small
July 15, 2024 at 15:24
Hi Simon hope your doing well, my son and my wifey got the visa for dv 2024 but they send me 5535 form and I complete it and am still on AP when I asked the embassy they told me it might take 60 days or more, and the DV 2024 is about to end and the my embassy keep my passport do you think they will issued the visa on time or they are just wasting the time and give me refusal? Thanks for you help always I appreciate it.
July 15, 2024 at 21:24
I can’t possibly know.
July 15, 2024 at 14:37
Hey 🙂 I am Case number 30400 FRN what means i Am in Front of the queue
But i am soooooo scared that for some Reason other people get their 2NLS and we Are left out or forgotten
Is that possible? And what should i do if my nightmare Becomes Reality?
This whole process is dealing with my nerves
July 15, 2024 at 15:01
You need to chill out.
July 15, 2024 at 17:26
lol 😂
July 15, 2024 at 14:19
Do you think they will Send out 2NLS this Week? Or disappointing again?
July 15, 2024 at 15:00
Yes
July 15, 2024 at 08:51
Hello Brit
1- I was thinking if my case number is around 196XX and the embassy is Jordan (small embassy) so if they use the capacity of this embassy my interview date would be earlier in September than late September or I am just thinking wrong
2- Also when do you expect the 2NLs today or later in this week
Thank you
July 15, 2024 at 08:52
Asia region 2024
July 15, 2024 at 09:44
1. I don’t know.
2. Sometime…
July 15, 2024 at 08:42
Hello, how do we know when they will send 2NLs and how to know the precise number of cases that are processed in a specific embassy for example Amman and what do u think about Amman embassy? My case number is AS178xx
July 15, 2024 at 09:44
We will know after they send the 2NLs.
July 15, 2024 at 07:17
Hello, we won the US-VISA lottery and we travel this May to US and we got the first passport stamp in the US airport and now we are waiting the green card but suddenly we got a letter to do the biometrics in USCIS I-797 form instead the GreenCard. I though that I gave my biometrics data before? Just now is July and I came back to Europe for my last managements before to come back (family travel, kids healchecks and finishing the school,+preparing the rellocation)
My questions are.
Is it necessary to do the biometric I-797? Can I reschedule for specific data ? or I will get a random date?
Thank you very much
July 15, 2024 at 09:42
Sometimes the biometrics data needs repeating. Not a problem. As for when they will reschedule – I don’t know.
July 17, 2024 at 03:14
Thanks, Finally we got 2 of 3 green-cards in the mail box… So it seems that you are right , one family member needs to do the finger prints again . Thanks a lot for your answer, your channel, website and everything . God bless you and world needs to have more good people like you to have a better world
July 17, 2024 at 07:02
Great. Good luck!
July 15, 2024 at 06:53
Hi
After the current when we can get 2nl
July 15, 2024 at 09:41
Same as every month.
July 15, 2024 at 06:18
Hi Simon,
Thanks again for all your help, I’m a little confused on something, I’ve logged into ceac and my case is showing as at NVC, I logged in again to ceac but where the 16 digit confirmation code is required and it says case is at KCC. What is the difference between the two? Im worried as I had unlocked DS260 and resubmitted the same day before I became current. Case number AS1882X at Amman
Please let me know.
Thank you
July 15, 2024 at 09:35
You can ignore the status that says NVC. That is simply a starting status for all cases.
July 14, 2024 at 19:31
Hello Simon,
I got my visa! thank you for your help.
I’m traveling to US in the next two weeks, the address I put in a MI state, now I got a call from a friend living in California he is willing to help me and provide me with work. my question is can I go to California directly since I put my address in different state? (like can I change it when I arrive to the airport).
And is there an immigrant officer in LAX airport or should I go to another airport before I go to California?
July 14, 2024 at 20:52
Go anywhere. And yes of course there is immigration anywhere that you can enter.
July 14, 2024 at 16:03
Given your experience and background in random immigration, what is your expectation of an interview date for me in USA embassy (Nepal branch) and my CN is about 2024AS135xx
July 14, 2024 at 17:28
I don’t know
July 14, 2024 at 13:06
Hi Simon, hope all is well.
Case number 2024AS1882X in Amman Jordan. Do you think I’ll get 2nl? If so will they come tomorrow Monday? Thank you
July 14, 2024 at 17:27
You have to wait and see.
July 14, 2024 at 11:38
Hi Brit Simon – thanks for all the information gathered and all of your work for the selected applicants.
I got super lucky and got selected for DV2025 and currently I’m filling out DV-260. It seems like that the form got broken: I added most of the info, but now I can’t do anything else. There are javascript errors in the browser console (HTTP Code 403 authentication errors) every time I do anything, and then I get logged out with “Your request can’t be processed at this time” which makes all of the CEAC site unusable for about an hour.
I already tried multiple browsers and all that. I think I need to contact someone at CEAC. Do you know where should I let them know my issue?
July 14, 2024 at 17:27
It is most likely uour.end. KCC won’t help.
July 15, 2024 at 08:34
Hope you are joking 🙂
What does really cause those errors and unavailability to access application and login on DS260 form, it doesn’t work for couple of weeks for me?
Thanks in advance Mr Simon
Vukosav
July 15, 2024 at 09:43
I’m not joking. Everyone else is using the site just fine. So – that tells me it is something wrong with your end. And I am sure KCC won’t help.
July 15, 2024 at 10:17
Hi Mr Simon,
You got me scared tbh.
I could easily access my DS260 during time, except sometimes it happened that I had messages that I am having now contineously, one is ‘Your request cannot be processed at this time.’ on URL https://ceac.state.gov/IV/, and the other once I enter just number of application on that same page is ‘The requested URL was rejected. Please consult with your administrator.
Your support ID is: 7284277933848019478 (everytime there is different iD)’
My concern is that since due to a nature of my work as computer engineer that and I am using VPN every now and then that this is security message probably, can you clarify what can it be, I just became current for September, my number is 2024EU309xx, so quite a low one and I downloaded papers, prepared other documentation, that need to print for my and my wife but wanted to check status today and couldn’t at all, both mobile device and on computer.
What should then be further steps, can I alarm KCC or Embassy in my country (BLG) about this issue?
As I said it happened also before but I could enter later then my application with credentials, only today I couldn’t?
Thanks in advance,
Best regards
Vuko
July 15, 2024 at 11:06
Your embassy doesn’t know anything about you until the 2NL is sent. KCC don’t help with website support problems.
You are in software – so all the standard advice applies for any session problem. Clear cache, change browsers, this is something at your end…
July 17, 2024 at 05:59
Thanks for clarification,
Both of us were right, some cache issue on browsers and devices that I used previosly existed, but on brand new device that I tried from different IP address I logged in successfully. Glad that it was on my side tbh.
Best regards Mr Simon,
Vuko
July 16, 2024 at 05:13
I had the same problem. I fixed it by using Microsoft Edge browser in ‘Internet Explorer mode’. In the Edge browser you can use the internet explorer (old version of Edge) mode to interact better with very old websites.
Also, save the form very frequently as you are entering the details. For some pages, I saved everytime I changed something lol.
July 14, 2024 at 09:25
hi brit,
my case number is AF6283*, i chose lus for an interview, i contacted kcc to inquire about my case status they replied with “your case is now ready..”, the thing is, lus already reached 73+ now, is this normal?
thank you
July 14, 2024 at 17:26
You might get a chance there.
July 14, 2024 at 08:59
hi simon
i’m really concerned, my case number is AF6283*, i already contacted kcc they said my case is ready to be scheduled yet i received nothing, what to be done?
what is the form written to inquire about the interview location? i’m starting to think maybe i filled a different embassy? is there’s any other way to check the interview location other than contacting kcc?
July 14, 2024 at 17:10
Your Chance now depends on which embassy.
July 14, 2024 at 05:40
Hi Brit
Is it possible to attend an interview and only the principal applicant gets issued and the derivatives put on 221g?? For example if a police clearance or birth certificate of the derivative is missing….will both be put on 221g?
July 14, 2024 at 08:31
Normally they would put the whole case on 221g
July 14, 2024 at 05:35
Your understanding here Bs?Afamily of 6 went for their DV interview went good visa approved green paper given out congratulations 🎊 letter,CO retained passports and documents told them after 2 weeks they will receive their VISAS BUT of the husband CO said they will do some back ground checks!!is that family safe all of them??
July 14, 2024 at 08:30
They need to wait
July 14, 2024 at 04:23
Hello again! I am a bit anxious regarding the timing of my interview as I have decided to go home to Australia for my interview rather than complete an adjustment of status (my previous visa was coming to an end). From previous bulletins I can see that Australia only processes a handful of cases a month. At case number OC3XX (2025 winner) which month do you think I could expect my interview in Sydney?
Thanks a lot!
July 14, 2024 at 08:29
November perhaps
July 14, 2024 at 19:41
Are you already in Aussie? Im just wondering what you would have to do if you are still in the US and your number goes current next month. Might be a good idea to have some plans for the unexpected (just in case).
July 14, 2024 at 01:22
HI Brit?am dv lottery winner 2025 from Africa 🌍 my question is a dv lottery let’s say you’re familiar of 5 can 3 members get visas and 2 rejected??how does it work because our local YouTubers are giving us sleepless nights
July 14, 2024 at 00:55
Hey Simon,
First of all thank you for all the information you’re giving out there.
my case number is 2024AF108162 and I’m from Algeria, based on the cutoff number (108,500)I might get a 2NL but I’ve left the country on December 2023 and spent like 6 months in canada as a student but I decided to dropout of it and came back to algeria but I haven’t updated my DS260.
with that case number I know my chances are very slim to none (because of the 7% cap) so should I unlock my DS260 or I can tell those details during the interview if I ever get one in the first place.
July 14, 2024 at 08:27
No need to unlock now. Just see if you are scheduled
July 13, 2024 at 22:26
good evening is it possible that the USA embassy in Dakar sends the 2NL in this month of July and in the month of August and my last question currently the embassy is at number AF2024 34945 it is possible that it will reach number 48,000 by September 30.
July 13, 2024 at 23:20
Both of those things are unlikely.
July 13, 2024 at 17:29
Hi Brit,
In the DS-260, there is a question about “Have you been arrested or convicted for ANY offense or crime,…”
I had a sign disobeying ticket in 2019 and paid it off. It was a traffic infraction. Do I need to update my DS-260 to disclose that? I don’t have any paperwork for the ticket.
July 13, 2024 at 17:44
No
July 13, 2024 at 16:54
Hi Simon, sorry one more question: now that our number came current my husband suddenly decided to change is last name to my family name. We would be able to have his new passport by the time of the interview, however, it would not match the DS 260. Would you advise to make the change prior to the interview or wait until we are in the US? As always: thanks for your help!!!
July 13, 2024 at 16:59
There is no “typical” advice for that. Choose your poison.
July 13, 2024 at 17:24
Thanks for the quick respond, but would he be running any risk if his name doesn’t match the DS260, in this case I would rather push him to wait.
July 13, 2024 at 17:45
No risk if you have name change paperwork.
July 13, 2024 at 15:56
Hi Brit. Please is it advisable to email KCC and asked about the status of my case in order to know if it has been process and waiting in the queue?&
July 13, 2024 at 16:00
There is no harm in that.
July 13, 2024 at 13:12
I’m a Ghanaian with a case number 2025AF28*** and I want to use Benin as my interview embassy.
As a Francophone country, do you think they will be speaking English during interviews section or it’s only French that they use
July 13, 2024 at 13:42
They can speak English of course. It’s the American embassy.
July 13, 2024 at 14:01
Alright thanks.
Looking at their previous embassy performance, do you think my case number will be interviewed
July 13, 2024 at 14:04
I dont know.
July 13, 2024 at 12:57
Hi Simon, i have a question regarding the analysis you provided for the backlog report. How do you know if the embasssy has higher case numbers that require processing? For example in Beirut, Lebanon, the highest case number processed is 17. But what if there are no higher case numbers that have become current in Lebanon? Does this possibly explain the very low case number observed?
July 13, 2024 at 13:41
On such a small.embassy it is pointless obsessing about patterns.
July 13, 2024 at 09:16
Hi Brit.
Hope you are fine.
Is there any possibility that cases that went current after the last VB will be scheduled to August as well? There are some embassies with good capacities that are not going to be busy in August due to low cutoffs in that month, so it would be logical to schedule some interviews to the end of August as well. Is it possible? Has it ever happened before?
July 13, 2024 at 10:06
No
July 13, 2024 at 06:34
Hello Simon, sorry if my question has been already asked.
I’m Dv lottery 2025 winner from Somalia. I did mistakr when I was filling in th first entry. I put my names in wrong order, so is there any solution about that.
Thanks.
July 13, 2024 at 10:04
Entrr them correctly in the ds260
July 13, 2024 at 13:14
Thanks for reply.
I already corrected it in the DS.
1: On the day of the interview, how about if I tell the consular that I made a mistake.
2: Is this mistake can cause refused viss?
July 13, 2024 at 13:43
1. No need to raise it.
2. Possibly
July 13, 2024 at 06:34
Hi Simon, thanks for all the time and support you are providing to all of us! Case 2024EU419XX in FRN. Several questions: I know I am still at risk, but as I believe I am a lucky person, I am not giving up hope. I had requested my police records already as I have lived in more than 10 countries and didn’t want to leave that to the last minute. The Irish police record shows a misspelling in my last name (k instead of a h) and only emailed it to me. Do you think this will be a issue? I have been issues a green card back in 2006 (also DV) and provided the Irish Police Certificate back then but don’t have a copy of it on file but presume they can see this as I mentioned my old green card number? I am worried as I presume there is no time to be placed on hold in case I receive a interview invite. I had given up my first green card back in 2010 as my company moved me to Europe due to the Financial Crisis and I met my husband who wasn’t ready to move to the US back then. Do you foresee any issues with the fact that I had given up my first Green Card? No we would happily move the family to the US and as I work with for a US Company it would be a easy move. Thanks again for all the support, Nicole
July 13, 2024 at 10:03
I don’t see any problem
July 13, 2024 at 03:30
Hello Simon, i am trying to check my status and it’s giving me invalid confirmation number and requires 16 characters long while my confirmation number is only 10 with the year 2024 would be 14 what can i do?
July 13, 2024 at 10:00
You are making g mistake, but I can’t read your mind.
July 13, 2024 at 03:16
Hello Simon this is me again 2025AF14**, last Saturday July 6 I got my new baby girl with the help of mighty God. We were family of 5 when we fill the DS260. So yesterday (July 12) when I look the DS260 form in the summary information it says “Add Applicant” then I have tried to add the new child and it says it is under checking after few minutes the application part is opened for the new one to complete her own Ds 260. But I stopped there b/c I thought I have to inform the KCC to unlock mine & my spouse’s DS to include the new child on both of us. Now Simon did I made any mistake? What should be my next move? I got the birth certificate of the new born child already and I will receive her passport in the mid of next week. Pls Simon I need you advice. Thank you!
July 13, 2024 at 09:59
You will need to unlock the ds260 for the parents, but no harm in starting the ds260 for the vhild.
July 13, 2024 at 11:38
Many, many thanks Simon! For my next steps:-
1 should I have to send email to KCC now or let me have her passport first?
2 can such kind of unlocking may cause delay of receiving 2NL?
In considering
i – Relatively lower case number (2025AF14**)
ii – Early submission of DS260 (May 12)
iii – The time/period (chance of getting the first 2NLs in coming August)
July 13, 2024 at 12:28
1. No need to wait for a passport. Use the passport number from a parent.
2. Pointless thing to worry about, but no.
July 15, 2024 at 18:09
Hello Simon, I have tried to email KCC to unlock but they replayed “Your DS-260 has been processed. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.” So Simon now what can i do?
1 Still the DS for the new one is incomplete so now I have to complete and submit her DS or what else can I do?
2 For adding new born baby now I have to use the second scenario. Taking her to the interview. Is that the possible way? Thanks for your unlimited support.
July 16, 2024 at 00:31
You need to stop worrying for one thing.
1. Try again to ask KCC – they didn’t understand
2. You will have time to unlock and add the child. Do that.
July 13, 2024 at 02:29
Hi Brit.. I watched some videos of YouTubers concerning DV 2024 September Visa bulletin insisting cases for regions which are current will be scheduled depending on how fast their DS 260 was submitted and not according to case numbers.
1) please I will like you to talk about this on your live program this weekend.
2) and possibly talk about these issue of unlocking and delay
July 13, 2024 at 09:57
Those people are idiots. I already explained how it works.
July 12, 2024 at 20:48
Hi Brit,
1) The number of people in the “Total” column of xarthisius’s chart is 61k people as of July 13. A third of them is sitting in the “Ready” which as I understand it, is the AV que (people lined up for an interview slot. Given the madness the government had for the September VB, is it expected for the people in the “ready” status to skyrocket? This is literally opening the floodgates.
2) Will saying to a consular officer that I plan to get a re-entry permit so I can finish university back in Canada at the interview cause denial?
July 12, 2024 at 20:50
Also, how and when do you know the total 2NLs shceduled for a given month. Looking at xarthisius’s site, I can only see the 2NLs per post.
July 12, 2024 at 22:20
Download the file.
July 12, 2024 at 22:19
1. We have to wait and see.
2. Just answer the questions you are asked. Not more.
July 12, 2024 at 19:46
hi simon,
I hope you are doing well
I am a Dv2025 winner from syria with the case number AS89xx , Amman embassy
1_ I just wanna know know If there will be any Challenges due to my syrian natianality .
2_ is Amman embassy’s performance good for my CN ,and when should i expect to be scheduled for an Interview ?
3_ I know the requirement of I-134 depends on the case and the concular , but I want to know the possibility of the embassy aske me for an affidavit of support, especially I selected “student” as main occupation after arrival to the USA, is it a good idea to email the embassy and aske them for that purpose?
much appreciation.
July 12, 2024 at 22:17
1. Possibly.
2. You won’t be scheduled in 2024, so there is time to learn more
3. No
July 12, 2024 at 18:13
4 2NLs? 😀 do you expect a lot for next week?
July 12, 2024 at 22:15
Yes
July 12, 2024 at 17:29
Hello sir, am from Ethiopia. I was a winner of DV 2020. My consultation is, do I have a chance if I hand over my case to immigration lawyer. Thank you.
July 12, 2024 at 17:53
No. It is over. Don’t spend any money.
July 12, 2024 at 14:47
Hello sir,
2024AS1609×, living in Brazil. Do I have the chance to receive 2nl?
July 12, 2024 at 15:38
I dont know
July 12, 2024 at 14:37
Hi Brit.
Hope you are doing well.
I made some calculations, please let me know if I am wrong.
According to the CEAC data (2024-07-06), there are 32700k issued visas. Out of 4800 221g cases we can expect 2500 issued visas. For August and July there were around 15500-16000 people with appointed interviews (so, we can assume that around 3800-4000 people just didn`t show up). According to the CEAC data, the probability that the case will be put into 221g or refused is 8500/41000= 19% (221g in July, August in September is unlikely to be cleared). The probability of no show-up is 3800/41000=9%. So, we can assume that only around 15800*0.75=11800 visas will be issued in July in August (best scenario). According to these calculations, 32700+2500+11800=47000 visas issued, so, we for the last month there are still around 6500-7000 visas left (deducted the AOS cases). To issue these visas, embassies should interview around 9000 people (7000/9000=78%), which constitutes to around 4200-4400 cases.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
July 12, 2024 at 15:37
1. The no show and refusal rates vary greatly per region, so it matters where the cases in September are scheduled. I think many will be from EU, which has lower no show/refusalrates.
2. I think your calculation to get to 47000 is a little light, but we will see.
3. I would like to see about 8k people interviewed in September.
July 12, 2024 at 20:21
Your calculations are similar to mine. I think SA and EU will do well in September.
July 12, 2024 at 14:19
Hi Brit
has KCC sent any 2NL after releaing the Final Visa Bulliten till now?
Best
July 12, 2024 at 15:37
No
July 12, 2024 at 12:38
Greetings sir. If someone unlock his/her DS 260 for correction and resubmit it then his/her number became current 3months after, will that affect his/her interview scheduling? And will it also change it initial submission date?? Case number AF 74k Cameroon. Unlock in January to update my high school diploma
July 12, 2024 at 12:51
The submission date is unimportant. Unlocking won’t have affected scheduling
July 12, 2024 at 16:45
Thanks Brit
July 12, 2024 at 11:56
Hi brit,
Quick question back in 2014 and 2016.I was working in Malaysia. For 2024 visa interview do I need a police report from that country.
July 12, 2024 at 12:00
Yes
July 12, 2024 at 12:08

Worrying won’t help.
July 12, 2024 at 12:11
Hahaha OK Bs,now le me get out out and have a cold Hennessey..from your reply all is good.
July 12, 2024 at 12:14
And wanted to share my interview experience BS!!!
July 14, 2024 at 01:10
Mr Bs,i think no need for them to worry because if they were given green paper,no another documents requested just a matter of they will both get their visas. My question now is,can a family 👪 get visas and other family members rejected???is that possible!!
July 14, 2024 at 08:28
Yes that is possible but rare.

1) For those who became current in the September visa bulletin, do they get scheduled for an interview in August or September only ?
2) I became current in the last visa bulletin and I’m at Jerusalem Embassy which receives very few applications, is there a possibility that my interview will be in August?
3) does becoming current in the September visa bulletin mean I’m at most risk of visas running out?
4) I mentioned before that getting police certificates from the Palestinian authority is not a problem but i might not be able to get a police certificate from Israeli side, do you think that will lead to refusal or is there a chance they overlook it?

on the israeli side the police sends the certificate directly to the embassy, you just need to submit a request online

As far as I know the online request is only available for Israeli citizens and residents of Jerusalem.
I’m from the West Bank and not an Israeli citizen. I should get mine from the police at the District Coordination Office but they’ve been closed for Palestinians since October

Hi Simon! I saw this post below regarding a potential second draw for DV2025. What do you think about it? Many thanks for all the extraodinary information you put out for us!
Why do we believe there will be a second H-1B CAP 2025 lottery?
114,017 registrations were initially selected by USCIS for the 85,000 CAP. Our high-volume law firms and clients inform us that only approximately 55–60% of the selected registrations have had petitions filed for them. This indicates a shortfall of approximately 17,000 petitions, totaling about 68,410. Any unused numbers from the prior year due to rejections, revocations, or denials will also be included. Additionally, USCIS adds a certain proportion as a buffer at their discretion. We anticipate about 25,000 more likely selections towards the end of July.

I discuss DV lottery, not H1.

Greetings sir. If someone unlock his/her DS 260 for correction and resubmit it then his/her number became current 3months after, will that affect his/her interview scheduling? And will it also change it initial submission date?? Case number AF 74k Cameroon. Unlock in January to update my high school diploma

Hello Nicholas, where did you see that post?
July 12, 2024 at 15:38
Just understand that has nothing to do with DV2025.
July 12, 2024 at 20:28
I understand, I’m familiar with the H1B lottery.

Hi Simon! Thank you for all the information you provide in your videos, I am now in the US waiting for my green card, according to that… Do I have to fill out another form on the USCIS page, do any additional processing or adjustment of status or something like that to receive my green card? I paid the gc fee before coming here and selected “yes” in the ds-260 question about mailing the gc to the address I put there. But I read posts saying that they have to fill other forms do AOS and things like that and I’m a bit confused to be honest.
Thanks for your reply and keep with the good content.

If you entered on an immigrant DV visa, and paid the fee online in Elis, then you just wait.
