August 1, 2024 at 14:03
Algeria did take some 2NLs already for September, but I don’t know if any more will come.
August 1, 2024 at 08:34
Hey Simon,
Sydney is ready to take my case, but said the following :
For your awareness, if we accept your file, there may be a possibility that we cannot accommodate an interview as at present we are fully scheduled for interviews throughout August and September 2024. You may be placed on waitlist for an interview if one becomes available.
Should I proceed with Sydney or wait and hope on Mumbai?
2024OC19XX
August 1, 2024 at 10:17
You have to make that decision for yourself.
August 1, 2024 at 10:35
Simon,
If you were me, what would you choose?
I definitely wouldn’t take the outcome against you, you’ve been awesome. 🙂
August 1, 2024 at 10:37
As per the AV queue, would my case number be on top or bottom of the queue, considering the case number, if I were to change embassy.
August 1, 2024 at 14:02
Sydney have already scheduled past your number. BUT I don’t know for sure whether you would be placed ahead of people that are already waiting at that embassy with higher numbers (and there are such cases)
August 1, 2024 at 14:01
Honestly – you must choose.
August 1, 2024 at 06:58
Hello,
I’m planning on participating the next DV visa lottery, perhaps some time this coming October.
I’m from Finland. While my “lottery ticket “ is pending, is it possible to travel to the States under my approved ESTA (for a week), or will traveling be prohibited during the process? I have no plans to overstay, and I’m able to proof evidence if requested ( job, apartment etc)
Thank you so much in advance!
August 1, 2024 at 07:42
It’s just a lottery with a tiny chance of being selected. You continue as before.
August 2, 2024 at 00:36
Thank you so much for answering! Take care!
August 1, 2024 at 04:46
Dear Brit,
Thank you for all the useful information!
2024EU357XX Budapest / Hungary, we have not received our 2NLs yet.
Do you know anything about this embassy’s schedulings?
August 1, 2024 at 07:40
They took 2nls for September last week. I doubt they will take any more.
August 3, 2024 at 15:09
Thank you!
Is there anything we can do, or that was it for this season?
August 3, 2024 at 17:21
Nothing you can do.
August 1, 2024 at 00:01
Hi Brit.
Tell me, is it completely finished for the Casablanca Embassy in Morocco?
There will no longer be a 2nd letter there?
August 1, 2024 at 07:32
I dont know
July 31, 2024 at 16:02
Hello BRIT i am EMMA From AFRICA KIGALI RWANDA and i hope you are doing fine, as me of course by God’s graces so i wonder when i write a letter to embassy to ask about interview appointment is it an positive impact it can cause them to send me 2nl or it can damage the thing i am in 2024 selectee with 77k and something.
if i have 2nl because of financial which is not enough to carry all family members ate the same time is it possible to unlock the DS260 and say they will come after me to not be asked to pass medical check up with me?
thank for you good support everyday bless up
July 31, 2024 at 19:02
Kigali have not taken cases for some months. I don’t think an email would harm, but it probably won’t help either.
July 31, 2024 at 15:29
Saludos Simon. Cómo se puede conocer la cantidad de citas que han sido enviadas? Hay alguna estadística que se publica diariamente donde se pueda obtener esa información?
July 31, 2024 at 19:01
English please
July 31, 2024 at 15:10
What about paris embassy? 2nls for september?
July 31, 2024 at 15:27
Hi same question 🙋
July 31, 2024 at 19:00
They took some, yes.
July 31, 2024 at 14:46
Hi Simon,
Thanks for your good work
I am in Ghana with case number 2025AF30k. I have my wife and children on my form.
I have a B1/B2 visa
1. Should I change the embassy for the interview?
OR
Should I go to US and apply for AOF
2. How will I process that of my wife and children if I choose AOF
July 31, 2024 at 18:59
1 You might have to do that (but it would require you to move to another country.
2. You can process them via a process called Follow to Join.
July 31, 2024 at 13:07
Hi Brit Ghana sent 95 2nls please do you think if they can send 50 2nls in the next 2nls it will reach 24000
July 31, 2024 at 13:15
No.
July 31, 2024 at 11:42
Hi Simon,
I am the 2024EU52xx (Bellow 6k) on the Montreal (MTL) Consulate with an Spouse, No 2NL yet number they skipped from three days ago. KCC replied with the copy paste email as always when pointed out the skipping situation. We have USCIS Adjustment of Status route available since we have Diplo status in the US. Would that be a better avenue to take it with the USCIS or would it be better to wait out to see if the open more in MTL?. Thanks in advance as always.
July 31, 2024 at 12:45
AOS. Now.
July 31, 2024 at 14:02
Thanks, will do immediately
July 31, 2024 at 09:08
Hey Brit
Until when can 2nl Email come for settember EU region, because albania didn’t get any 2nl for +30k, thank you
July 31, 2024 at 12:44
I expect the last batches of 2NLs this week.
July 31, 2024 at 20:50
Do you 4 all courrier such as DKR?
July 31, 2024 at 21:30
I will wait and see.
July 31, 2024 at 09:06
Hello Simon, I have about 7000 Euros in my bank and I do not currently have an I-134. I am a single 23 year male scheduled at Frankfurt but I am not German. Is it risky for me to be approved? I have all the other documentation.
July 31, 2024 at 12:42
That might be a risk, yes. 7K Euros won’t last long.
July 31, 2024 at 22:00
I disagree. 7k euros should be enough for a single young person. Even in the most expensive cities like NYC, Miami, LA or SF you can find small studios for around 1k/month (especially if you accept to have roommates at first).
Because you have no credit score you will probably need to pay a few month rent in advance, but that would still leave you with about 1.5k or 2k (depending on your plane ticket’s cost) which is enough to stay without working for a couple weeks.
You don’t need to stay without working more than a couple weeks, even if at first you just take some unskilled job just to rebuild some ‘wealth’.
You also don’t have to buy a house or a car in your first year.
(Now if you plan to be a full time student or have serious health issues like diabetes, that’s a different story).
July 31, 2024 at 23:23
The picture you paint is exactly what a CO would be concerned about. A plan for 2 weeks padding is foolish.
August 1, 2024 at 03:32
I disagree again based on my personal experience. When you apply for a student visa COs expect you to have $18k personal savings per year of studies (which is roughly $1.8k/month) without working –and they are also very concerned about public charge and illegal work.
So it seems unlikely they expect more from a single young person who will have the right to work very quickly, after 3 weeks at most.
In a country where finding a job is a matter of days if not hours, planning to stay more than a few weeks without working when you have the benefit of a PR status is the foolish thing, and I don’t think COs expect applicants will do that.
August 1, 2024 at 07:36
I’m surprised you don’t see the difference. It can take 2 to 4 weeks to get the SSN for a start. So again, I think I would rather tell people the truth based on years of experience of living here and 12 years experience of DV interviews, rather than your assumptions based on never having done this before.
August 1, 2024 at 17:15
Arrived in Seattle 2 months ago with 8.5k euros (and pretty confident I could’ve done it with 7k, maybe even 6.5). Before that I was a student in California from 2018 to 2022.
I started a job at the end of my second week here, employer took me about a week before receiving the SSN card.
And 1k to 2k is enough to stay even a full month without working. I see your point that it doesn’t cover you in case of emergency like a broken leg or else, but in all truth even 12k probably wouldn’t cover it in this country.
July 31, 2024 at 07:54
Hello Brit, do you think it makes sense to complain to KCC and express that what happened in Frankfurt with the appointments is not fair and that the DV system is actually based on fairness and equal opportunities?

July 31, 2024 at 07:38
Hi BritSimon,
Thanks for everything you do for this community. I’m currently filling out my DS-260 and every time I add work history back to 2018 the form breaks and I can’t do anything else other than deleting all of my work history. This way I am unable to add 3 other workplaces I had between 2018 and 2014.
I contacted the U.S. Department of State and they sent me to Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA) but no one seems to be able to help. I’m thinking about submitting the form like this, with missing work experiences or maybe adding details of the issue in one of the description fields.
Have you seen anything like this before? Would it be a problem if I submitted the form with incomplete info, and then brought that up during the interview? Is there anything I could do here?
Thanks,
Istvan
July 31, 2024 at 12:36
It might be because you have gaps in the history. Look carefully for messages.
August 2, 2024 at 22:47
I had a similar problem with the form breaking when I added too many previous places of residence. I fixed it by switching from Chrome to Microsoft Edge internet browser but using Edge in ‘internet explorer mode’. I think the problem is they haven’t updated the form for so long that it’s optimized for use with an old version of Internet Explorer.
July 31, 2024 at 07:15
Awesome Information.
Thank you so much for the details.
July 31, 2024 at 05:25
Hello Simons,
When applying for my non immigrant visa, I made mistake with my Facebook name but I was successful in the interview.
With that impact my dv lottery interview.
July 31, 2024 at 12:35
Probably not.
July 31, 2024 at 05:17
Hello Simon 👋
It’s over 3weeks now since visa bulletin updated but so far no one has received 2NL in Harare
Wrote an email to KCC and their feed back was that my case is current and ready to be scheduled for an interview is there a chance that I’ll receive 2NL or it’s too late now and why is there so much delay this time around
July 31, 2024 at 12:35
I don’t know whether they will get 2NLs or not.
July 31, 2024 at 02:20
Hi, BritSimon
I am Kenyan born but, my Husband is Indian born, I saw your video about chargeability, and I just wanted to confirm whether both my husband and I can enter the DV Lottery this year
July 31, 2024 at 12:03
You both can. He would list his place of birth as India, but chargeability would be Kenya.
July 30, 2024 at 23:55
After a visa bulletin is released, when should I expect my 2NL for the case of DV lottery? Thanks
July 31, 2024 at 12:01
2NLs generally come in the second half of the month, after the visa bulletin.
July 30, 2024 at 17:19
Hello Simon! How are you?!
It’s me again haha.
Still being very patient and waiting.
I was wondering if you had any information on Oceania again? For Sydney Embassy in particular.
I’ve been reading the charts (well, trying to read them haha) but not really sure how they’re going for 2NLS.
My second question is will next week be the last week for 2NLS as it’s the second week of August? Is there a certain time they stop sending them?
Thank you again for all of your help, you’ve been so kind and reassuring with questions.
July 30, 2024 at 19:39
SYD just marked 4 cases as READY – one AS region and 3 OC. The numbers for the OC region are:
2024OC2002
2024OC2032
2024OC2045
As you can see, although the VB went crazy high, SYD didn’t go that far – not even close. SUV on the other hand took cases to nearly 2600. That’s kinda unfair – but that is probably how it will end.
July 30, 2024 at 19:42
By the way, your options now are probably resign yourself to entering again (and with two of you the chances of getting selected are quite high), OR, if you already have a non immigrant visa for the USA, you would drop everything and get to the USA and try AOS as a hail Mary.
July 30, 2024 at 20:23
Thanks so much for your feedback Simon. 🙏 So our case number is 2299, so just clarifying that it’s likely not going to happen this year and best bet is to re enter this year for next year? As you can imagine the stress and overwhelming process has been hectic. It’s been one year today 31st of July since we handed in the forms.
(Sorry for my lack of knowledge but what does SUV stand for?)
July 30, 2024 at 22:10
SuV is SUVA
It’s most likely over, because even if SYD added a few more, they are still quite far from your number.
July 30, 2024 at 16:11
Hello Brit
Maybe you know if KCC is sending 2nls this week also?
2024EU36xxx Vilnius
July 30, 2024 at 19:14
They just took 4 2NLs for EU up to 35K. That is likely all they take for the year.
July 30, 2024 at 15:57
So the Frankfurt embassy is not moving any numbers for eu cases for now…I hope they start to and why is that?
July 30, 2024 at 19:12
I just posted a video explanation about that exact thing a few days ago.
July 31, 2024 at 00:43
I watched it now….so it seems to me that there is no chance for my case eu37225, not fair for most of eu cases but okay
July 30, 2024 at 12:58
Hi Brit Simon
Question: are the records we fill in the dv lottery kept for all entries I have made every year..
Since I don’t remember what I filled 2 years back, in case am filling up the ds260 for this year..
Thanx
Nelo
July 30, 2024 at 14:12
The previous entries are available to them, but I don’t know whether they routinely look at those entries.
July 30, 2024 at 12:01
Hi Brit, I’m about to fill my ds260 2025 but the issue is that I’m not employed..although I completed Senior high 2020 and my question is , what should fill at the “occupation” side. I take care of my sister’s shop (sales)but I’m employed though
July 30, 2024 at 12:13
So you are working at your sisters shop.
July 30, 2024 at 12:35
Yes. Thanks
July 30, 2024 at 11:14
Hi BritSimon,
I had my interview on June 12th, Nairobi Consulate, got a yellow paper and told by CO that a background check has to be done (2024AF47***). Fastforward to today, July 30th I got an email with an attached DS5535 to fill and submit. All that done and submitted. My question is this, is it true that once a DS5535 is requested the delay can take longer than that of a normal 221g wait period?
Thanks for your continued support.
July 30, 2024 at 10:40
Hi Brit.
please do you have any idea if the Casablanca embassy in Morocco sent any 2nd letters?
July 30, 2024 at 11:29
Till yesterday: No 2nls
Today we still don’t know.
There’s a national Moroccan holiday today by the way. It might affect the embassy’s working hours.
So we wait and hope they do something. 🤞
July 30, 2024 at 11:50
2NLs are sent by KCC, not the embassy.
July 30, 2024 at 12:32
Okay, but have they sent letters for people who have to have their interviews at the Casablanca embassy?
July 30, 2024 at 14:12
No
July 30, 2024 at 07:36
Hi Brit Simons,
Please, with the new update in the FAM information, can one select a different country for the interview even when you are not currently in that country?
July 30, 2024 at 10:13
You can try, but up to now KCC have generally not been supportive of such requests.
July 30, 2024 at 07:13
When will the visa bulletin for 2025 winners start?
Thanks
July 30, 2024 at 10:06
August
July 30, 2024 at 05:17
Hi Simon,
do you think all larger European embassies (London, Paris .. ) will have the same destiny as Frankfurt? i.e. they will take African and Asian cases only and forget about EU cases
July 30, 2024 at 09:56
No. But we already know what most embassies have taken – so look at the data.
July 30, 2024 at 15:48
London doesn’t seem to receive anything for September interviews as per official data from xarthisius from last Friday. Any news if KCC has already scheduled anything to London please?
July 30, 2024 at 19:11
I don’t have any additional info.
July 29, 2024 at 20:09
Hello Simon,
I am writing regarding Yerevan, Armenia cases for DV2024. Our case number is EU257xx. We are ready to sue KCC. Could you help us? What should we do?
July 29, 2024 at 23:01
I have contacted three excellent lawyers, and so far no one is interested in taking this case. It’s a lot of work for them, with not a lot of time. The fees would be high.
I understand there was a demonstration at the embassy and the consular officer said they would look into the complaint. Hopefully that will achieve something.
July 29, 2024 at 16:49
Hi BrithSimon, Thank you for providing us useful info, I’m 2025 DV-selectees, before result came out in May I filled DS-160 for NI-Visa type and not scheduled or attended an interview but i paid interview fee and also I made mistake during filling that NIV form and I resubmitted it and that mistake was passport number and my DOB, than I got selected DV-2025 so I decided to leave that NIV and proceed my IV my question is does that NIV form will effect to my IV form? thank you so much.
July 29, 2024 at 17:10
No impact really.
July 29, 2024 at 15:50
Hey Brit, how is that possible, Albania didn’t get any 2nl for settember yet
July 29, 2024 at 17:08
It can happen. Be patient.
July 29, 2024 at 13:59
In your opinion, is there any chance of a second draw for DV2025 (EU specifically) ?
July 29, 2024 at 14:01
2nd draws happen when they underselect in the first draw.
Since we don’t know how many are selected, it is too soon to answer your question. We will know in about 2 weeks time.
July 29, 2024 at 13:55
Hi Simon greetings.
1) When filling the ds260 and under the recent/previous address information, do you have to fill the different cities you have lived in even though you haven’t travelled out of your country of origin for the past 16 years?
July 29, 2024 at 14:01
Yes
July 29, 2024 at 13:42
Sir,
Last week a relative got 2NL for DAKAR.
Do you think I may get 2NL before September 1st?
AF382xx
July 29, 2024 at 14:01
I don’t know.
July 29, 2024 at 12:18
Hi Simon thank you very much for your guidance toword the DV process. I have question
I am a DV Af202564xxx winner.
I have two diplomas with different course of study. I studied as follow
1. Community development study
2. Networking and System Administrator
Number 2 is my current major job and with 10 years working experience.
Duration of studies is two years each.
Should I indicate two of them in my application?.
July 29, 2024 at 13:48
Yes
July 29, 2024 at 11:22
Hello Simon, my sister and husband where denied visa on the 16th of july under 221g, (they got a yellow paper) with unclear reason however, consular remained with there passports. Are there chances that there visas will be approved? And also for how longer should we expect feedback from Nairobi Embassy?
July 29, 2024 at 13:46
Yes there are chances. I don’t know how log it will take.
July 30, 2024 at 01:32
Thank you so much so for responses,
July 29, 2024 at 09:45
Hello Britsimon, If after 8 weeks of full incubation your Sputum culture analysis reads positive, will you be denied visa especially when you have gone for interview and demonstrated all eligibility criteria?
July 29, 2024 at 13:35
That can happen yes – if there is no time for treatment.
July 29, 2024 at 08:06
Hello Simon, thank you for doing so much work. great job. We have the number 2024EU30660 and are a bit desperate for the new news from you, especially regarding the consulate in Frankfurt. Is there anything else we can do to get the appointment?
July 29, 2024 at 13:34
Oh wow you were so close. I don’t know if any embassies are going to get more 2NLs once they have had their first batch.
July 30, 2024 at 07:13
Hello Brit, do you think it makes sense to complain to KCC and express that what happened in Frankfurt with the appointments is not fair and that the DV system is actually based on fairness and equal opportunities?
July 30, 2024 at 10:10
No. What happened in Frankfurt is their procedure operating “correctly”. The embassy made 25 appointments available and KCC filled those appointments according to an order. The fact that “locals” were disadvantaged is not “wrong” in any legal sense. Germans or Europeans don’t “own” their embassies – and as far as the US government is concerned, one foreigner is the same as another. So whilst I don’t love the alphabetical order “solution”, I don’t think there is a better way.
July 29, 2024 at 07:07
Hello Brit,
does a case number has to show “In Transit” in the ceac status before it shows “ready” ? Thank you for all the work you do.
July 29, 2024 at 12:57
Yes, although sometimes the embassy updates it so fast that we don’t see the in transit status.
July 29, 2024 at 05:59
Hellooo Brit…..
I just want to thank you very much ive finally recieved my 2nl, my girlfriend a baby on the 8th of march this year but am not going with them so i want to kow if i should let the accra embassy unlock my ds260 for me to add the new baby or i should do that at the interview day? thanks
July 29, 2024 at 12:55
Do it at the interview. Email the embassy in advance if you want.
July 29, 2024 at 02:46
Hello Simon,
my case number is 2024EU37XXX.
I completed my DS260 on 2nd July 2023.
Then I got married and unlocked the form. I updated my status to married and added my wife to the aplication (and her ds260) – I did this few days ago, on 27 July 2024. I live in Malta but my interview embassy is in Naples, Italy.
The question is – do I still have a chance for the interview due to adding my wife to the appliacation so late? Are the invitations still sent for September?
Thank you in advance
July 29, 2024 at 12:53
They sent 2NLs for September interviews for Italy on the 24th. I don’t know if they will send any more.
July 28, 2024 at 20:11
Hello Simon, My sister got her interview yesterday, her passport was retained while those of her husband and child are still with them. What could this mean ? Should we contact the embassy for more information?this happened in Yaounde
July 29, 2024 at 14:02
Probably 221g which is further background checking. All they can do is wait.
July 28, 2024 at 19:23
Hello Simon,
I am writing regarding Yerevan, Armenia cases for DV2024. Our case number is EU257xx. We are ready to sue KCC. Could you help us? What should we do?
July 28, 2024 at 17:33
Hi Simon
When will we know interview dates for 2025 Selectees
Example 2025AF62k does he have chance to be interiview?
July 28, 2024 at 21:55
It is too soon to know for sure, but that number won’t be current until well into 2025, so there is plenty of time to learn more.
July 28, 2024 at 16:31
Hello Brit, hope you’re having a wonderful day.
It’s been a few days since i last asked you this question but I’ve been growing more concerned by the day since the Riyadh Embassy appears to moving slow. My case is DV2024 AS00024XXX and last time i spoke with you, you advised me to wait, which i did. But I can’t help but ask you again on any updates that you may know regarding that embassy and if they ever will reach that number. Thanks a lot for your hard work.
July 28, 2024 at 21:44
I don’t have any updates.
July 28, 2024 at 15:05
Hi brit. My chosen embassy for dv2024 was/is Abu Dhabi and I know it’s backlogged and they’re not scheduling anyone. I want to move my case to another embassy although I know it’s probably too late but if it’s my last chance I want to take it. How and where can I see if the embassies have capacity or not? And should I email the embassies first then the kcc? I want to chose between Oman, Kuwait, Baghdad, Qatar, Kuala Lampur and Islamabad. I don’t have residence permit for any of these but according to new policy I can tranfer my case. Which embassy do you suggest for me (from these that I mentioned or others). I would really appreciate it if you answer me.
July 28, 2024 at 21:43
I have no idea. I think all the scheduling is pretty much done.
July 28, 2024 at 14:45
Hi Simon, my CN is about As13500 in Nepal is there a chance to get an interview date before the end of 2024FY
