Hello Simon, I got police certificates for 3 of the 4 countries I’ve lived in. I still need to get one from Tbilisi, Georgia ( I studied there for a few years) but haven’t been able to because someone needs to go in person to get in on my behalf. I also lived in the US for the past 3.5 years. I read on travel.state.gov that I can submit an explanation if I cannot obtain a police certificate for some reason. Are you familiar with cases where all went well even though a person was missing one of their police certificates?
PS. I’ve really tried my best to obtain it. The only person I know living there said they didn’t receive the Western Union money I sent 🥲 for them and my ex-husband who is from Georgia refuses to assist me.

August 8, 2024 at 10:56
Hi Simon,
Just watched your September VB release / DV2025 stream, thanks for your work again!
Considering numbers we’ve got, and your thought about case density for EU – what do you think about my chances to get interview with my case EU2025 36xxx in London?
Many thanks!
August 8, 2024 at 14:13
Risky.

Hi Simon,
I am in the process of preparing for the immigration medical examination and have some questions regarding the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. According to the CDC guidelines(my guess is that it wasn’t updated), it appears that a booster shot is necessary, and I understand that there is a booster available in my country, specifically the Moderna vaccine. However, I am in a bit of a dilemma and would greatly appreciate your advice on the matter.
To provide some context, I received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in 2021, but I am currently hesitant about getting the booster shot. Given my situation, I am wondering about the potential consequences of not receiving the booster. Specifically, could this decision cause my case to enter a “neutral” phase, potentially delaying the processing of my immigration application?
Additionally, I am considering obtaining a note from my doctor stating that I am unable to receive the vaccination at this time. Would this be sufficient to meet the immigration medical examination requirements, or could it still result in significant delays or complications?
To sum up, I am trying to weigh the potential impact of skipping the booster shot against the possibility of delays in my immigration process. Would it be wiser to get the booster and avoid any issues, or is there a legitimate way to bypass this requirement without causing complications?
Your guidance on this matter would be invaluable to me, and I look forward to your advice.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
August 8, 2024 at 14:11
I don’t know the rules in your country about boosters – you could ask the physician if you want to know more.
Personally I view the vaccination avoidance as closely correlated with IQ. I have zero time for people that want to avoid it.
August 8, 2024 at 15:50
Yeah for sure. Lost couple of relatives unfortunately. my only concern is that the pandemic fades in my opinion and what can be the reason for immigration cases. Thanks anyway, ill ask during my check
August 8, 2024 at 09:49
Sir,
An affidavit of support with 30k manual income(4 kids in charge of sponsor) can he sponsor me?
August 8, 2024 at 09:51
My aunt is in the same situation with this man ISMAEL DIALLO do you have an idea?

August 8, 2024 at 09:46
I sincerely hope you are well.
I am a 2024 Diversity Visa Lottery selectee from Iran. I chose Abu Dhabi as my interview location, but despite my case number becoming current, I have not yet been invited for an interview. This is now the last opportunity, and I am worried about whether I will ever get an appointment and interview opportunity. Is it possible to get an interview appointment at the embassy? If I am not invited for an interview in Abu Dhabi, is it possible to change the interview location?
August 8, 2024 at 14:06
Sadly, I think your chance has gone.
August 8, 2024 at 09:27
Hello Simon,
I’m sure you will make videos going into detail about the newly released selectee numbers for DV2025, which I will definitely watch, but since the curiosity is very high about my chances, I thought I’d shoot you a couple of questions here right away if you have a chance to get to them!
If I did the sum correctly, I see there are 4,053 selectees for Oceania this year. I think that based on your survey the highest case number was around 3,800 for this region. If I’m not wrong, last year the number of selectees for this region was 4,450 with the highest case number around 5,000.
1a. Why is the number of selectees higher than the highest case number this year?
1b. Does that mean that there are more family members accompanying selectees this year?
1c. Does it mean there are basically no holes for Oceania this year?
2. What do you think are the chances for OC175X for DV2025 based on these selectee numbers?
Thank you so much in advance!
August 8, 2024 at 14:03
1. The number of selectees includes derivatives, which are share a case number. The average number of derivatives in DV2024 for OC was 2.1, meaning each case has the principal selectee and 1.1 extra people. Therefor the 4053 represents (as a guesstimate) about 1920 cases, and those 1920 cases are spread over the 3800 case numbers, meaning about half the numbers are holes.
2. Great.
August 8, 2024 at 09:08
Hi Simon,
The September 2024 Visa Bulletin is out!! It looks like for DV2025 there were 131K selectees globally and 43197 selectees in the EU region (assuming I didn’t mess up the sum). This resembles the selectee numbers in 2021. I guess if the case densities in DV2025 and DV2021 are also similar, my case number EU26XXX should have no problem becoming current. I just don’t understand why the density in DV2018 was so different. Given they have improved the way they are detecting fraud or flawed registrations, would you say it is more likely than not that the case density will be similar to the past couple of years’ case density rather than the case density of DV2018? Thanks!
August 8, 2024 at 10:06
Another thing that got my attention, while the number of selectees in Europe went down compared to last year, the number of selectees from Turkey has gone up by a considerable amount. In fact, Turkey has more selectees in DV 2025 than any other previous year. I wonder if the number of derivatives for Turkish registrants has increased or they just decided to select more people from Turkey given most Turks don’t end up getting interviewed because ANK is backlogged. Do you see a possibility of visa exhaustion for Turks this upcoming year based on the 7% cap?
August 8, 2024 at 14:09
The selectee numbers increase or decrease based on the number of entries. ONLY that. There is no logic applied, just a random selection.
Ankara misbehaving will probably mean the 7% cap is not a problem for Turkey.
August 8, 2024 at 13:56
The EU density reduces over the range, so although we can make a pretty good guess at the overall case density, that doesn’t help because of the reduction points (countries being limited during the draw)
August 8, 2024 at 14:47
Thanks for the response! This is true, but at the same time when you compare the past couple of years’ case density in the EU region to the case density of DV2018, there is a striking difference starting from the lower case numbers. For example, DV2024 had 50% holes and DV2023 had 40%, whereas DV2018 had only 20%. So I’m wondering what your guess is about the case density of the initial case numbers before the cliffs due to the limited countries. I promise I won’t be overly excited or devastated based on your “guess”. I’ll leave those emotions to January after we see the CEAC data.
August 8, 2024 at 15:04
Really, I’m going to wait for the data.
August 8, 2024 at 16:18
Fair, thanks anyway.
August 8, 2024 at 08:31
Hi Simon, doing AOS for DV via Tampa FO. Just completed Bio appointment, case was received 07/22. The case number hasn’t been updated yet with BIO, is there any way to see past data on Tampa FO interview waivers or in general interview processing times for applications that went in July with September being current?
August 8, 2024 at 13:55
Lots of AOS info here – https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2024-aos-adjustment-of-status-process-only.346971/
August 8, 2024 at 08:26
Hello Brit Simon, thank you very much for your analysis, which has accompanied me for over a year.
It’s a rollercoaster of emotions. Do you think Frankfurt will send out 2NLs for September again? My CN is 33.1XX.
August 8, 2024 at 13:54
They sent a 1st batch, and a second batch. I think that will be all.
August 8, 2024 at 07:11
Hi,
Do you think we will get a Visa Bulletin today for DV2025?
August 8, 2024 at 13:53
Got it.
August 8, 2024 at 01:11
Hi Brit, could you please advise on the last case number for which the 2NLs were sent to the Yerevan Embassy for the EU region?
August 8, 2024 at 13:48
They are in the data at https://dvcharts.xarthisius.xyz/ceacFY24.html
August 9, 2024 at 00:53
Thank you for your reply. And yet, do you have any information? The website hasn’t been updated yet.
August 9, 2024 at 08:24
There have not been further 2NLs sent for Yerevan.
August 9, 2024 at 13:14
Thank you. I will keep my fingers crossed.
August 7, 2024 at 19:22
Hi Brit,
thank you for everything I’ve been watching all of your streams and videos this year.
I will be bringing two passports to the interview(the one in ds-260 and the new one)
I am registering my interview with embassy and it asks me for passport number. Do I put a new one or the one I put in the DS-260, does it matter?
August 7, 2024 at 23:13
Doesn’t matter
August 7, 2024 at 18:54
good evening I did not receive first I wanted to know the last number which received the 2NL at the USA embassy in Dakar.
August 7, 2024 at 23:12

August 9, 2024 at 07:53
Hi Brit, what was the last number for Yerevan, EU Region, please?
August 9, 2024 at 08:59

August 7, 2024 at 16:25

August 7, 2024 at 18:13

August 8, 2024 at 06:34

August 8, 2024 at 13:52
I think the final KDU interviews have been set, but I cannot be 100% sure, no matter how often you ask.
August 7, 2024 at 16:21
good evening I did not receive first I wanted to know the last number which received the 2NL at the USA embassy in Dakar.
August 7, 2024 at 16:18
Hi simon, I’m from Algeria my case number is AF68390, I am concerned because I discovered that at least one number higher than mine has been scheduled at the same embassy. Is this normal? Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
August 7, 2024 at 18:12
It can happen, of course.
August 7, 2024 at 15:31
Simon!! How are you?!
Last Wednesday when we spoke I took your information on board and came to the conclusion that it was the end. I was so broken on Wednesday, I was inconsolable, so devastated that we missed out as our numbers were so high.
I woke up this morning a week later, and received our 2NL!!!!!! How is this possible?! I am in shock. I don’t even know where to put my emotions. How can this happen? We were certain that it was over.
I just wanted to message you to share the news and my confusion haha
August 7, 2024 at 18:12
Congratulations! They just sent 1600 more interviews since Monday.
August 7, 2024 at 18:43
1600 for SYD?! Or Oceania xx
August 7, 2024 at 18:26
Sir,
An affidavit of support with 30k manual income(4 kids in charge of sponsor) can he sponsor me?
August 7, 2024 at 14:57
Hey Simon I’m from Germany and have a case number 38xxx do I have a realistic chance of getting an interview appointment?
August 7, 2024 at 18:11
I don’t know.
For a start your number is meaningless without a region and year.
August 8, 2024 at 10:31
Hey Simon 🙂 Germany ( Europe ) DV2025
August 8, 2024 at 14:12
The survey would suggest that is a very high number, and since we now know the selectee numbers I would guess there is high risk for your number. We will know better in January.
August 7, 2024 at 14:50
Hey, Brit. By some miracle my 48k eu number has been asigned an interview on 9th of September. But my wife has taken a stance regarding vaccinating our 3 kids against covid. Since I guess there is no chance of covid vaccine requirment being removed by then, is it possible to get a green card only for me right now if the application was for me and my 4 derivatives ?
August 7, 2024 at 18:10
Yes you could go alone.
This is one of the most idiotic stances I have ever seen.
August 7, 2024 at 14:28
Simon Hi!
I am ukrainian national which was inteviewed in Frankfurt on 5h of Aug and was placed under 221g due to my STEM educational background and asked to fill 5535, despite having current US visas in past.
How likely I can get through AP till the 30th Sep / end of visas?
Is it true that state department putting more efforts to clear Ap’s by the end of FY?
August 7, 2024 at 18:04
You have some chance. It’s hard to predict.
Yes they tend to reduce the 221g cases toward the end.
August 7, 2024 at 18:41
221g due to STEM ?
Do all STEM graduates get 221g refusal? Or there are particular factors that contribute to receiving a 221(g) refusal?
August 7, 2024 at 10:18
Hi Brit,
the instructions say
“Send a photocopy of your biographic data page to KCC.”
but there is also a section about not submitting any documents to KCC since DV2024. So I do I submit or not? If yes where? It’s out of date right?
August 7, 2024 at 17:44
No documents are sent to KCC nowadays.
August 7, 2024 at 10:12
Hi Brit,
If I bring two passports to the interview(old and new) cause I got a new one since submitting DS-260 I bring two photocopies?
August 7, 2024 at 17:44
Would the weight of one more copy really be a problem?
August 7, 2024 at 08:29
Hello Mr. BritSimon!
Thank you for your amazing work for us.
2024 was not over yet!
I finally received 2NL today (Aug. 7, 7am Nashville)

August 7, 2024 at 08:15
Hello BritSimon
Just got 2nl 2024EU36XXX Vilnius
August 7, 2024 at 17:43
Congratulations
August 7, 2024 at 06:18
When a DS-260.was.submitted but no visa was granted by the end of the fiscal year, would this count as refusal/denial that needs to be mentioned on future Visa Applications? Would it affect ESTA eligibility?
August 7, 2024 at 17:43
It’s not a denial, and typically doesn’t affect ESTA, but it can affect other visa types.
August 7, 2024 at 06:03
Hi Brit, do KCC still sending second branch of 2nls? My embassy: Tajikistan, Dushanbe. 2024EU3415*
August 7, 2024 at 10:19

August 7, 2024 at 14:27
Hi Eddie
I’m also a DV 2025 winner from Sierra Leone AF31K.
You have a chance of getting 2NL.
Currently in the DV 2024 program, highest case number being interviewed in Freetown is 53K+ and the highest case number being scheduled for an interview is 72K+

Hey Brit I’m 2025AF56xxx dv selectees i had submitted my ds260 in May but i want to change my host , what can i do ?
August 7, 2024 at 17:30
Do that at the interview.
August 7, 2024 at 02:34
Hi Simon. I’m a winner of dv 2025 (eu20***),im from Serbia and I’m filling out ds260. I have chosen my interview location to be in Serbia, however in the meantime I got a job opportunity in China and currently I’m here. I updated my new living address and didn’t change the location of the interview (it is still in Serbia since I want to go back to get all the document etc). Is this the correct way to fill in this form? I can still expect my interview to be in Serbia right?
August 7, 2024 at 17:28
Based on your new address they may select China. You can email them to ask to remain allocated to Serbia.
August 7, 2024 at 02:11
Hi Simon,
The bank statement should also be translated in English?
August 7, 2024 at 17:27
Probably not.
August 7, 2024 at 01:28
Hi Brit, hope you are well. Could you please advise on the amount that would be sufficient for 5 people (including 3 kids aged 19, 16, and 6 years old) to meet the financial requirements for the DV Lottery Program interview?
August 7, 2024 at 17:27
There is no precise number, but just roughly $30K+
August 6, 2024 at 23:51
Hello Simon, I submitted my Ds 260 for DV2025 but i realised that lately we don’t send supporting documents to KCC like before. Will KCC ask for these documents after review or there’s somewhere am supposed to send them.
August 7, 2024 at 17:26
No documents will be requested or sent.
August 6, 2024 at 22:38
Hello Brit! I hope you’re having a wonderful day.
I’ve spoken to you many times about this, but I’ve lost hope over the last few days since we thought the 2NLs had likely stopped (AS00024XXXX / Riyadh). But we just woke up to an email of an interview with the embassy. I’m not going to make this too long for you, I would just like to thank you very much for the constant valuable content you put out. You are truly appreciated, Simon.
also wish me luck !
August 7, 2024 at 17:26
Wow – that’s great news!
August 6, 2024 at 21:37
Hi Simon,
I received my 2NL and I’m preparing for the interview. I used my full legal name (including my middle name) in my DV and DS260 applications. However, my passport shows only my first and last names. Will this cause an issue in the interview? If so, would you advise to renew my passport to add the middle name?
Please note that I also entered my name in the passport (first and last names only) under the “Other Names Used” section of DS260. Thanks!
August 7, 2024 at 17:25
It is your decision.
August 6, 2024 at 17:29
HELLO US embassy Dakar sent the 2NL yesterday but I checked in CEAC 2024 it is not displayed first I would like to Know if the embassy arrived at number 40xxx
August 6, 2024 at 20:39

August 6, 2024 at 20:46
If you are have been schedule an appointment surely your status must be by now IN TRANSIT.
I received the mail to check my status update, I entered the confirmation code at that moment still no 2NL . After 5min I recheck and saw the letter with full details.
If you do not receive it today, continue checking till end this week as adviced Mr Brit

August 6, 2024 at 16:48
Emms you need a hobby.
August 6, 2024 at 18:50
I need a lot of things in my life, most importantly is to secure that LPR status. Aside from that, I need nothing else, capisce?
August 6, 2024 at 20:49
Emms if you won DV2025 why worrying knowing your interview is not out yet?
August 6, 2024 at 21:19
I’m not really worried per se. When I say this dumb stuff, it’s me being sarcastic really (instagram memes/reels).
Although it’s worth noting that my interview time is expected to be in January (president’s inauguration) so if it’s Trump, then there’s definitely a concern.
August 7, 2024 at 07:55
As what I knew about America, the institutions are strong anyone in USA. If it was possible DVLOTTERY since he took office.
America is america not like some African/South american/European/Asian countries.
America is the best place to live the democracy
August 6, 2024 at 15:20
Hello Simon, I am the winner dv2025, my number is 867. I have two children who already live in the USA, one of them is i220. My question is if, through this draw, I could give legal status to my youngest son. Thank you in advance.
August 7, 2024 at 17:20
Ask a lawyer.
August 6, 2024 at 15:15
Hello Simon, do you think it is a good idea to let the CO know that I still have a year of education left to finish in my home country and that after getting the visa I would finish that and then go to the USA? I still have a year left to complete and I cannot transfer schools. Thanks.
August 7, 2024 at 11:04
Your visa will expire if you stay to finish school and you will not be able to come. You have to decide if you want to finish your education in your home country and not come to the US or if you want to come to the US and finish your education in the US.
August 7, 2024 at 17:47
He can keep both options with an activation trip.
August 7, 2024 at 17:19
You will have to enter the USA before the visa expiry. Once you have done that you can leave the USA for up to 1 year.
August 6, 2024 at 15:06
Hi Brit Simon,
I received an email from the US embassy confirming my interview schedule in September and listing the documents I need to bring. The list includes police clearance certificates for each country where I have resided for at least 6 months. However, the State Department website mentions that police clearances are required for the current country of residence if lived in for more than 6 months, and for other previous countries if resided in for more than 12 months.
Does the embassy have different requirements from the general guidelines, or could this be a mistake? I have only obtained police clearances for my current country of residence and previous countries where I stayed for more than 12 months. Can you provide your thoughts on this matter?
Thanks.
August 7, 2024 at 17:18
The instructions are very clear.
August 6, 2024 at 13:15
Will it work if contacted CBS telling them his Majesty Simon, the Brit, commands you to release the 2nls?
August 6, 2024 at 14:25
By the royal decree from BritSimon’s Union and Syndicate of the DV Lottery, I command you, CSB, to release the 2NLs for the month of September.
LONG LIVE THE UNION AND THE SYNDICATE!!!
August 6, 2024 at 14:55
😂😂😂
August 7, 2024 at 17:17
They already just sent a lot since you wrote this – so whatever you did, it worked.
August 8, 2024 at 06:17
I did send an email but it was just a inquiry about wether they would schedule any interviews for September or not. I didn’t get a response, and they probably didn’t even read it. Anyways my CN is 2024AF61k and I didn’t get any 2nl 🙃 back to surviving Africa I guess.
August 8, 2024 at 13:51
🙁
August 6, 2024 at 12:44
Hi sir, I have unlocked my DS 260 to update my entries. Can I use the opportunity to change my interview location since I have that option in mind. DV 2025 winner from Ghana.
August 7, 2024 at 17:16
You can change your address to another country – and then that would get you into a different embassy.
August 6, 2024 at 12:33
Hello Brit. It was worth the wait. 2024Eu30660 we got our appointment 2nl in Frankfurt today for September 17th, 2024. We have a doctor’s appointment on September 9th, 2024. According to my projections, Frankfurt should still have enough green cards by that date. If we take all the documents with us to the appointment and everything is correct, it should work. Do you have a few more important tips?
August 7, 2024 at 17:15

Hello BritSimon
Today we did our Medical examinations in OIM but my wife who is Principal Application has been requested to provide 3 sputum samples over 3 consecutive days this can denial our Visa because we have an appointment on September 6th in Nairobi Kenya but the Doctor says that the first result will be out after 1 week but the final results will be out for 8-10 weeks
So we are very nervous that suspicion of TB can cause the Visa to be denied

Yes it absolutely can cause a loss of the visa because there is no time for the treatment.

Hello Simon,
I’m an Iranian living and working in Malaysia for over 10 years, and my case number is 2025AS37XX. I have two questions:
1) My assigned embassy is Kuala Lumpur. Have you heard of any adverse or negative experiences related to this embassy?
2) I’ve heard that for Iranians it’s better to choose embassies like Abu Dhabi, Yerevan, or Ankara as they’re more familiar with Iranian cases.. is that really the case?
3) Based on my research from past year statistics, I presume for my case number I should expect an interview in December 2024 or January 2025. Is that correct?
Thank you!

1. Nothing memorable.
2. Well KCC will assign one of those three unless the Iranian lives somewhere else. All three embassies carry some level of risk.
3. Maybe.

Hello Mr Brit,
I am 2025AF135xx and will be processed at ABD. I’ve noticed that the CEAC data for the second notification letter (2NL) becomes available only from January. Given this, I have a few questions:
1. Is it possible to check and see the scheduling for embassies from October to December?
2. Can we assess the performance of the Abu Dhabi embassy to avoid potential delays, similar to the issues faced by the Accra embassy in 2024?
August 6, 2024 at 09:45
1. No
2. You can look at the 2024 data

Dear Simon
I’m from the West Bank. I followed your advice to fly to the USA and do AOS. I’ve gotten in contact with Jesse bless and already started the process.
I’ve sent my Dos fee yesterday in the mail. And paid the lawyer his money as well as the USCIS fee for him to pay on my behalf.
I’ve invested a lot so far and about to run out of money. But now that I see more 2NLs, what happens if I receive one at Jerusalem embassy? What should I do next ? Please advise
I’m not abandoning AOS yet because I’ve paid lots of money and I’m not sure I’ll get an appointment at Jerusalem, but if I did, please advise me what to do?

Wait and see. That’s all you can do.

I’m obviously not Simon, but I wanted to comment that I am so excited that someone took this advice and is implementing it. I’d love to hear how your entry went at the border and if you had any difficulties. My family won the 2025 lottery and I advised them to make sure they renew their visitor visas in case next year’s process results in a similar circumstance. Please keep us updated here!
