Hi Simon, I’m from Philippines. Am I eligible to apply the dv lottery 2026? Thank you
October 2, 2024 at 08:04
No
October 2, 2024 at 01:59
In my country there were no middle name. There are last name and a first name (which can be made up of two names).
Example : Last name : Smith
First name : Andra Maria
Is your middle name Maria?
Thank you
October 2, 2024 at 08:03
Yes
October 2, 2024 at 00:02
Hey Simon, I got a question regarding names. On my birth certificate and my passport I got my first name, middle name and last name on. This is also what I put in DV entry + DS260. However in documents like my high school diploma or Bachelor degree I only have my first and lastname without middle name. Here in my country its not common to be called or include your middle name anywhere (here u typically go by first and last name only).
I am now quite worried if this could cause any issues if the middle name is not included in my educational documents. I am DV2025, interview will be in Germany.
October 2, 2024 at 08:02
No problem at all.
October 1, 2024 at 13:13
I just wanted to thank you for the time and the effort

Hi Simon,
My spouse and I live in different countries legally because of work.Assuming either of us are selected, can we process (ie medicals, interviews etc) it from the different countries we reside?
October 1, 2024 at 16:46
Not normally. The principal would have the interview scheduled, and the derivative would attend that interview.
But in any case – get selected first.

Hi BritSimon, 2025EU14XXX here. I’ve submitted my DS260 in the beginning of May, however, regarding to KCC it was still not processed by 5th of September. Now, I cannot stop thinking: what if I’ve made some stupid mistake on my DS260, like puting a wrong date on my study certificate or whatever… what if my background check can not be processed (because I lived in several different countries) or whatever… How big chances are to be disqualified or that my case never will be processed although it is only some small mistake? Is it possible that one of the countries where I lived doesnt provide some information needed?…
October 1, 2024 at 13:26
Relax and be patient.
October 1, 2024 at 11:08
Hello Brit
After receiving a 2nl, how do we confirm an appointment? I saw today other winners while scheduling medical examinations ,holding a confirmation page print about their appointment at embassy.
I read it that it says we should bring that print during an interview.
Would you guide me please
October 1, 2024 at 13:24
If you had read the instructions as I had told you, this would be clear to you.

Hi Simon, I’m all goes well and I make it through and get to go to America, do you have to go that year? And if you do do you have to stay? Or can you come and go as you please?
October 3, 2024 at 10:12
The greencard gives you the ability to come and go, BUT you may not be absent for more than 12 months at a time (and under 6 months is better).

Hi simon . Im a dv 25 winer and i have intervew in november . Does it have a porblem if i aply for dv 26?
October 1, 2024 at 07:21
No
October 1, 2024 at 03:52
Hi Simon,
For the DV 2025 bulletin it doesn’t show any UK selectees, is that correct in your understanding? I’m equally shocked if none was selected and a little concerned as I will apply for DV 2026.
Thanks
October 1, 2024 at 07:21
The bulletin is incorrect – I have previously discussed that. I am certain that there are selectees from the UK in DV2025.
October 1, 2024 at 03:46
His Simon
I forgot to add my Secondary school certificate on DS 260 i only entered my Tertiary Diploma?
October 1, 2024 at 03:32
Hi Simon,
Am a Kenyan citizen at the moment. I was born in India but live & work in Kenya. Do i qualify for the DV 2026
October 1, 2024 at 07:20
Not from what you have said.
October 1, 2024 at 03:28
With how uncertain the US election outcome is and assuming the worst case scenario of the passport rule coming back and applying retroactively to dv-2026 applicants, do I need a passport before entering the lottery?
October 1, 2024 at 07:19
No. What you describe is not possible.
October 1, 2024 at 03:12
Hello Sir,
I’m from Ethiopia, first I appreciate your help on providing visa related information. On April 2024 me and my wife apply & paid the visa payment for a visitor visa to the us Embassy. our visa interview is schedule for the coming month, October 22,2024. Fortunately, on may 04,2024 I won the DV2025. I have submitted the DS-260 form on June 2024. Since my case number is high I’m waiting for the DV interview schedule next year any month. So, what would you recommend us? should we go to the tourist visa interview next month because we already paid for it? or will it affect for the DV interview that will happen next year? Your response is appreciated.
October 1, 2024 at 07:19
The NIV won’t affect the DV case. The DV case might affect the NIV
October 1, 2024 at 01:20
Good morning, do you know whether you can apply for the ssn at the consulate in Frankfurt before the activation trip and what documents are required. We had our positive greencard interview in September and of course we already have our passports with the visa. Best regards
October 1, 2024 at 07:17
No you can’t. The SSN is issued by a different agency – the SSA.
September 30, 2024 at 22:58
Hi Brit, just saw your new YT video on DV2026 disqualification scenarios. For DV2025, I put Kazakhstan as my chargeability country but I was born in the UK. Both UK and KZ are eligible in 2025 as EU countries. Are they equally eligible? You gave some examples where even within the same region, there could be some issues. I can easily prove chargeability to KZ, but hoping it will be forgiven since both equally eligible. This is AOS case.
September 30, 2024 at 23:07
Because they are both in the same region, the mistake will be forgiven.
September 30, 2024 at 20:43
Hey Simon,
I’m currently a med student who will eventually graduate in 2028. I really would love to get my residency done and practice in the US
So can I apply to the 2026 dv lottery (and in the slim chance) get it and be able to still complete my education in my home country? Would I have to travel to the US for certain periods to keep the gc active?
Thank you!
September 30, 2024 at 22:19
Yes and yes.
Just enter and see if you win.
September 30, 2024 at 18:47

Hi Brit.
How long does it take to file a petition for a child above 21 yrs
Am a DV 2024 winner and joined US in Sep this year.
Thank you for assistance given to make us understand the journey
September 30, 2024 at 18:30
A long time. The visa bulletin puts F2B category at 2016 and older, so there is at least 6 years waiting just for that.
September 30, 2024 at 16:42

Hello Simon, my father is from Angola and my mother is from Cuba. I was born in Cuba but i always lived in Angola since i was 1yo. Can i apply using Angola as my country of eligibility?
Thanks for your help
September 30, 2024 at 17:43
No. You could only charge to your parents country if *neither* of your parents were from there.
September 30, 2024 at 11:33
hi simon
i’m dv 2025 winner. my question is
my last name in my transcript is written like this “Nigussie”
But in my passport, grade 12 broad exam and also birth certificate it was written “Nigusse”
Does that going to affect me during interview?
September 30, 2024 at 12:49
Your DS260, birth cert and passport should all match. If there is a difference, it might man your documents are incorrect. You can use the “other names used” section of the DS260 if both versions are used.
October 1, 2024 at 11:30
it’s not like i have another name, it just my last name on my birth certificate and passport are the same, but slightly different on my educational documents.
Does that cause any trouble?
i hear some people say to me as long as your birth cer and your name on your passport match it doesn’t cause big prob.
Since they use those 2 as they primary for identification.
October 1, 2024 at 13:25
If the education certificate is the only one that is wrong, that will normally be OK.
September 30, 2024 at 10:54
Hi Simon, am a DV 2024. When should I pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee? Before traveling or after arriving in the USA?
September 30, 2024 at 12:48
Either way is fine.
September 30, 2024 at 10:24
I am currently in the US under a non-immigrant visa. If I apply to green card lottery and get rejected, does that put me at jeopardy if I need to get another non-immigrant visa in the future? I have read that it does not put me at risk unless I win the lottery and begin the process, because this is when I would show immigrant intent. Unfortunately, I can’t be sure and I don’t want to risk my chances of acquiring non-immigrant visas in the future just because I applied to the lottery and got rejected. What do you think? I would really appreciate your input on this.
September 30, 2024 at 12:47
Buying a Powerball lottery ticket doesn’t mean you have to pay the taxes.
In the same way, entering the lottery isn’t a problem. If you win, you would complete a DS260 – and that is the point that you declare immigrant intent.
September 30, 2024 at 10:14
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your videos they are very helpful. I am in the process of filling out my DS260 for 2025, but I am having trouble getting into the system. Will I be late if I don’t submit my DS260 before October 1?

Hi Simon, I have one question
I have a scheduled interview in October, for which I filled out the DS form back in May. In August, I was on vacation in a neighboring country. Now that my DS form has been processed, should I mention this to them immediately before interview?
October 2, 2024 at 22:43
I am also waiting answer for this question. My condition also same .
October 3, 2024 at 10:00
No need to bring it up unless the CO asks.
September 30, 2024 at 09:30
Gooday Mr. Brit
My Question is:
I will apply for DV 2026.
My Nationality is Pakistan (I know Pakistan is not eligible).
But my Country of Birth is Saudi Arabia. It is very clearly mentioned in my all official documents as well. Currently also I am living and workinh in Saudi Arabia.
Am i eligible for US DV 2026 Lottery?
Looking forward to hear from you
September 30, 2024 at 12:42
Yes – the process is based on your place of birth, not nationality.
September 30, 2024 at 08:42

Hi Simon,
I find your platform very informative and thanks for the good work you are doing. I am a DV 2025 winner with case number AF1**. My chargeability is Ghana. I emailed KCC last month on the status of my case and they replied on 14th of August. The reply was ” Your case number is now current for interview processing. If you are scheduled for an interview date, you will receive notification via email to check ……………… If you need to make changes to your DS 260 your should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can longer unlock your application. As at now i have not received any 2NL. Should i email them again to enquire about the status of my case?
Thanks.

September 30, 2024 at 12:24
Contact the US Embassy nearest you – and they will help.
September 30, 2024 at 08:33
: ) Hello. I am a winner of the DV2025. I have no family or friends living in the United States. When the embassy asks for our address in the United States, what do you advise us to put when we have no family there? For example, can I give the address of a hotel where I’ll be staying when I come? What do people like me usually do? Thank you for your help.
September 30, 2024 at 12:23
You can choose any address for now, but you MUST change it later in order to make sure your GC and SSN are sent to the correct address.
September 30, 2024 at 07:58
Hi simon,
My question was about the photo. I have dreadlocks can it decrease my chances for the Diversity visa lottery?
September 30, 2024 at 12:21
No – as long as you face is not obscured.
September 30, 2024 at 07:37
Hello Brit
I have a degree of bachelor of education so how can I choose my high level of education when registering the dvl
Thanks
September 30, 2024 at 12:20
You can use your judgement. BUT this is not an important question.
September 30, 2024 at 07:21
Hi simon
Is it possible to request xarthisius to upload final dv24 data by the end of business day today?
September 30, 2024 at 12:20
Yes
September 30, 2024 at 07:14
Dear Simon,
do you know if there is any problem with Frankfurt embassy? They are not scheduling any interviews yet. I am worried. Do you have an idea whats going on? Thanks
September 30, 2024 at 12:19
No. But it is far too early to worry.
September 30, 2024 at 03:19
I was on filling ds260
On listing social media , I have other account with no personal posts but has some explicit or sexually suggestive contents and messages
Do I need to list that one too ?
September 30, 2024 at 12:19
If it is yours, yes.
September 30, 2024 at 02:04
Hi Simon, if I was to apply with the job I have been in for the last 18 years which I had 3 years at college for, will I have to do that same job in America if accepted? Or will I be free to go for any job?
September 30, 2024 at 12:18
You can do whatever you want.
September 29, 2024 at 23:00
Hi Simon,
I’m planning to apply for DV 2026 for the first time along with my parents.
My mum doesn’t meet the education or work experience requirements, but my dad does.
Normally you can make two DV entries, one with each spouse as the primary applicant.
But in this case since my mum doesn’t meet the requirements, should I only submit one entry for my dad?
September 30, 2024 at 12:18
If you are sure that your Mum couldn’t meet the requirements, then Yes – there is no point in entering for her.
September 29, 2024 at 22:51
Hello Simon,
My cousin just saw 3 days ago that he was selected for DV2025. While trying to fill the DS260, an error shows that “The case information you entered does not match our records”. I tried several times but the system did not let me access to the DS260. What will be the main issue? I do have everything about the case number , confirmation number and his name. Do I need to contact KCC for help?
September 30, 2024 at 12:16
Watch this:

September 30, 2024 at 16:53
Hello Simon,
Thank you for your response. I have received an email from KCC saying that the date of birth I have entered while login into my DS260 does not match with the date of birth from my original DV entry form. So I am trying to find out a solution to get a correct DOB.
September 30, 2024 at 17:45
If you think the year is correct, but the date is wrong, you can use the check confirmation number page below, trying all the dates.

September 29, 2024 at 18:23
Hi sir.
During the E-DV entries I mistakenly selected ” I’m married and my spouse is a US citizen ” instead of selecting” I’m married and my spouse is not a US citizen. After winning the lottery I realized my spouse was not included so I went ahead to submit DS 260 for myself and my spouse. Do i still stand the chance to go for an interview?
2025 DV winner.
September 29, 2024 at 22:10
I believe you will be disqualified at the interview.
September 29, 2024 at 16:29
Hello!
I’ve a bit of an odd question. I just saw your video, and I thought you might be able to answer it for me.
I am going to apply for a DV lottery immediately. I am hoping to apply as soon as it opens up, as I heard a rumor those people might get a bit of a preference.
So my question is, I want to apply for the lottery now on 2nd of October. But I have my final divorce finalization on the 10th. So, on the 10th, I will be divorced entirely.
Should I mark “Divorced” on my application, or should I mark married? my current to-be-ex-wife is an american.
Thank you!
September 29, 2024 at 22:14
There is no advantage to entering earlier. SO WAIT until the divorce is finalized ( which must be decree absolute)
September 29, 2024 at 13:25
Hey Brit, my sister in law and relatives visas were issued on 9/13 per ceac (successful interview on 9/11) . Due to courrier registration issues (case number invalid), they haven’t received their visas.
We have tried multiple times to address the issue but it needs technical support and “they are working on it”
1. Are the visas at the embassy in this case?
2. Should we be worried given that tomorrow is 9/30th
Thanks
September 29, 2024 at 14:51
Are you sure they did not mistake when registration on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ ?
September 29, 2024 at 15:30
If CEAC says issued or Administrative Processing, then they are fine.
October 6, 2024 at 04:52
Have you received your visas? Any updates
September 29, 2024 at 12:37
Hello Simon,
It’s me again, Amahoro from Rwanda, DV 2025 with case number 21K. First of all, I can’t thank you enough for the incredible work you do for all the DV lottery winners.
I wanted to inform you that yesterday, the Rwandan government declared an outbreak of the Marburg virus, and today the U.S. Embassy in Rwanda announced its closure, suspending all services, including visa processing. As a DV 2025 applicant with a 21xxx case number, I expect my case might become current around mid-October. I’ve been told that once a case becomes current, it is impossible to change the location of the interview.
With the embassy’s closure at the beginning of October due to the Marburg virus, I am concerned that if the outbreak continues and my case becomes current, we could be stuck with no option to proceed. Furthermore, considering that the DV 2024 process already faced significant delays, I worry that the additional impact of this outbreak might slow things down even more when the embassy eventually reopens.
Do you have any advice or suggestions on how to navigate this situation, especially if the outbreak and closure last for an extended period?
Thank you for your guidance and continued support.
September 29, 2024 at 15:29
The process lasts 12 months, I don’t think the health concern will last that long, so I would not be worried at this point.
September 29, 2024 at 12:08
Hello Brit
Kigali embassy staffs will start working remotely due to Marburg this morning.
How bad do you think it will be to us who were waiting for 2NLS/2025.
September 29, 2024 at 15:28
I think the impact will be short term .
September 29, 2024 at 10:14
Hi Simon,
Finding your channel very informative, thank you!
I have had a look in list of qualifying occupations for 2026…police detective (or criminal investigator) has an SVP of 6.0 to< 7.0, would this qualify?
Thank you in advance!
September 29, 2024 at 11:45
No, it needs to be above a 7.0 (job zone 4)
September 29, 2024 at 11:48
There might be certain specializations that could warrant a higher SVP – for example:

September 29, 2024 at 09:53
Hello Simon,
My wife and I are planning to enter the DV lottery. Can we both use the same pictures of ourselves and each other in each of the two entries or does the AI tool detect duplicate photos and consider them disqualified? Thank you!
September 29, 2024 at 10:03
You can use the same photos on both applications.
September 29, 2024 at 09:28
Hallo Brit!
I really appreciate what you have been doing to the DV Lottery Enthusiasts. I personally learnt a lot from your live presentations on YouTube. I am a 27k DV-2023 Winner, but you know what happened to the majority of the selectees from Kenya. I wasn’t scheduled for an interview and I ended up losing the golden opportunity, just like that.
I finally decided to create a program where one can access the detailed, relevant, DV Information, in one package. Just pure DV Content. And I was thinking, with your wealth of Information, Knowledge and Experience, there is something we can still do together to assist my people from Africa and the world at large, since the DV Information literally applies the same all over.
You can have a look at the website, then I can also let you in, as we discuss and negotiate how we can go about what I have in mind, under the same Program. We can organize for a zoom meeting to discuss on the way forward.
Thanks for your time.
September 29, 2024 at 10:02
I already put extensive time into helping people from wherever they are, and I do everything I do without charge. My information is available for free.
You have created a nice looking website, and I hope you are providing accurate information. Best of luck!
September 29, 2024 at 05:30
Hi Simon,
My husband and I are Australian citizens. I was born in Australia and my husband was born in the UK while his parents lived there a few years for work. He subsequently has a British passport.
I know if the uk were not eligible this year he could charge to Australia as his country. Can he still do that even if the uk is eligible? I know we would have a greater chance of selection if we were both in OC region, but don’t want him to get selected only to be disqualified!
Thank you for your help.
September 29, 2024 at 09:48
He can (and should) choose your country of birth. So question 5 will be UK, and then he picks Australia in Q6.
September 29, 2024 at 17:54
Thanks Simon, that’s great news!
To clarify, my husband’s parents also have dual Australian/UK citizenship so he would not qualify as being born to parents who were not legal residents, and therefore able to charge to parents country of chargeability.
Is it true that a person can always charge to a spouse’s country of eligibility, regardless of their own country of birth? The only catch being that you must both be found eligible for green cards and immigrate together.
September 29, 2024 at 18:01
Hi Simon,

September 29, 2024 at 22:12
Yes, charging to a spouse country is elective cross charging. Can be done even when both countries are eligible.
September 29, 2024 at 03:44
Hi simon, I’m moving with my wife tomorrow to the US unfortunately we still don’t have a job and no insurance yet, what insurance companies do you recommend for new immigrants? Something temporary till we find jobs
September 29, 2024 at 09:47
You can get a temporary policy via the link below, but you will need an ACA plan as soon as possible. Medical events here can be stupidly expensive.

Hi Simon,
I don’t have my school certificate, but I do have experience of work.
When filling the form what should I choose in qualification part?
September 30, 2024 at 14:38
Whatever describes you nest. The education level does not affect chance of selection.
