Hello Simon,
Will i need O-Net online verification???
I have MBA and have worked for 5 years in finance?
Thank you
March 12, 2025 at 15:21
Probably not. Your education will probably be all they look at.
March 12, 2025 at 01:16
Hi Britsimon my name is Mohamed my case number is 36K from Somalia, I planned Djabouti but I prefer now to India for my interview location, I have no reason to tell except lie, How can you help me to change or what is your advice to change it?
March 12, 2025 at 15:24
If you search for my article on changing embassies that may help.
March 11, 2025 at 12:51
Hello Sir,
considering the slow movement of the Visa Bulletin for Asia, when do you think my case number AS95XX will become current? My j1 two-year home residency requirement will be completed on July 13, 2025.
March 12, 2025 at 15:19
There are only 4 months of scheduling left. So – one of those.
March 11, 2025 at 10:55
Dear Britsimon,
Is there any specific reason behind the change in the AS region and the flow this year compared to previous years? In the past, I’ve noticed that the rest of Asia typically saw much higher numbers and it was step a head of Iran and Nepal, due to the high density of cases in those two countries in lower case numbers . However, this year, they seem to be almost aligned with each other(small difference ) Since many of the cases in Iran and Nepal are concentrated in lower numbers, this may have an impact on other Asian countries. The trends of previous years made more sense, as they were more balance for Asia. I’m just curious to know if there’s a particular reason behind this shift.
March 12, 2025 at 15:18
I don’t know.

Dear brit,
1.What’s your opinion about this AS VB movement?
2. According to your prediction still 18k CN is safe due to this VB movement?
3.AS 12200 is safe number due to this VB movements?
Can you brief this as per your knowledge, thank you

Hello Simon, hope you are fine.
Can you please explain if ‘current’ is a good or bad sign in the VB?
Putting it in an example, if may’s cut off for EU is 16000, and lets just suppose in June EU region becomes current. Does that mean there are enough visas for those of 16000 not yet scheduled and the rest is out, or that from that month everyone of those who got 1NL (those selected) can possibly receive a 2NL? Thank you.
Kind regards
March 11, 2025 at 10:51
Hello Brit!
Looking at The Visa Bulletin, and the number is stuck in 16k , is there still any chance for EU23XXX, in Tirana, Albania?
March 12, 2025 at 15:18
Yes
March 11, 2025 at 18:12
Current means every case number is eligible for interview. Considering how many are selected, that is unlikely.
March 12, 2025 at 05:34
Hi Brit.
31K from FTN family of 6. My case have been transferred from FTN to MRV according to KCC response from my Email requesting a transfer of my case.
1 What do you think of MRV performance?
2. Is it likely that we will have our 2nl this month?
March 12, 2025 at 15:24
1. I really want people to use the techniques I have shown in my recent video to assess embassy performance.
2. I don’t know.
March 12, 2025 at 10:40
That is a new scenario! I read somewhere it meant “from that month that region run out of dv visas”. Thank you
March 11, 2025 at 07:43
what do u think of casablanca embassy’s performance ? after the last vb(30000)
do u think there is strong adds that they will reach 42k in next 3 last upcoming months?
March 11, 2025 at 18:10
CSB rescheduled some interviews. We will have to see the impacts of that for May interviews.
March 11, 2025 at 02:17
Hi Britsimon,
I’m a librarian, 2025 dv lottery winner my case number is AF68k and my case is currently at KCC do I have a good chance of receiving interview
March 11, 2025 at 06:00
Your number is quite high, and is risky.
March 10, 2025 at 21:08
EU28xxx here. With no movement in the May Visa Bulletin and it’s stuck at 16K, should we still have hope?
March 10, 2025 at 22:00
You always had some risk. You still do.
March 10, 2025 at 09:12
Hello Simon,
2025 EU28xxx. Due to personal reasons I will not be able to move to USA and would like to cancel my application. I have already submitted everything online on October.
Could you tell me what would be best way and time to cancel?(in case I want to get into lottery again in the future)
Should I send an email to KCC, or do something through the online system, or just wait for 2NL and then inform that I cannot come.
Thanks a lot,
March 10, 2025 at 10:36
If you get scheduled, don’t turn up.
March 9, 2025 at 17:37
Hello Simon, I wanted to ask this again after your recent video on not losing the GC. As you may remember, I explained how I got my green card in September of 2024 and then went for an activation trip. I had to return back to my country of redundance to finish my degree (I am graduating in June 2025). I also went for a short 1 week trip to the US as well in January this year. Now, I am back in my country of residence and am very scared with everything happening. Please let me know if I’m in danger and what I can do to mitigate that.
Thank you.
March 10, 2025 at 10:32
Return before 6 months.
March 10, 2025 at 10:38
Before 6 months from January (my last visit to the US)?
March 10, 2025 at 11:34
6 months absence – meaning the day you leave to the day you return.
March 10, 2025 at 11:39
Understood, so then since my last trip to the US was in January (for 8 days). I should keep my absence to under 6 months from that period.
I apologize for the re-asking, I just wanted to be sure thank you for all your support.
March 11, 2025 at 11:20
Simon, can you please clear this up?
March 11, 2025 at 18:13
It’s really clear.
March 10, 2025 at 16:38
Hello Brit,
This year the visa blutien for Asia is too slow what do you think up to how much they will current cases for Asia just prediction.
Thanks
March 10, 2025 at 18:31
I have a prediction video.
March 9, 2025 at 12:33
Greetings Mr Simon,
Hope you are doing well.
Mr Simon, I got selected for Dv 2025. But during the entry period my rightful date of birth was used to partake in the program in October-November 2023 applications. Then in January 2024 my father filled in for me but he had reduction in my age. When I was filling in my Ds 260 for submission, I maintain the same information that I was used during the 2023 entry period. Please Sir, these are my questions:
1. Sincerely I am highly willing to admit if I am to be ask. But will my petition be know about?
2. If yes, will that be a problem for me?
3. Please, I need your advice Sir. what do I need to be aware of? Or what should be say by me if I am to be ask??
Thanks Mr Simon.
March 9, 2025 at 13:25
I think you are saying that you have used a correct DOB for the DV entry and DS260 for the DV. BUT your father has submitted another petition and in that he deliberately misstated your DOB.
Hopefully, they will realize that it is your father that is a liar, not you.
1. Yes
2. Probably not.
3. HONESTY.
March 10, 2025 at 04:10
Thanks Sir, I do appreciate you a lot.
But please, do I need to take additional document(s) to the interview for this issue?
2. If yes, what could be the additional document(s)??
Thanks Mr Simon.
March 10, 2025 at 10:34
No additional document.
March 13, 2025 at 12:44
Hi Brit,
Hope you are doing great.
I am so sorry for the too many questions Sir. Kindly help me please.
During my interview, if I am to be ask a question like this: Have you ever had a change in your DOB before?
By me responding Yes, that was done after I used my correct DOB for the DV entry. And the changing of my DOB was done by my father. But my rightful DOB was the one used in DV entry and in the DS-260 form. And also my school document contains the same rightful DOB information. My questions are:
1. Will that makes sense enough?
2. Or is there anything needs to be mention rather than that response?
3. Will it make sense to mention about my father in my response?
Thanks Mr Simon.
March 13, 2025 at 17:36
You have not had a change in your DOB.
Your father made an application and misstated your DOB. That is his problem, not yours.
I’ve already answered this. Please re-read what I said.
March 9, 2025 at 07:54
Dear Brit,
Trust you are good.
The place i will be staying (host) is different from the person who filled my affidavit of support.
The one hosting me is a friend ( green card holder) and the person who filled the i-134 is a citizen
1. Is it going to be a problem if the host is different from the person who filled the i-134?
2. The person who is providing financial support has given me his passport.
Does my host need to provide any identification?
March 9, 2025 at 10:40
1. No
2. No
March 8, 2025 at 23:38
Hi Simon, from Nepal CN 8.9k. I made a mistake in my DS 260 form. Mistyped ward no ( ward is smallest administrative unit). It should have been Tokha Municipality, Ward no 8, but went to be Tokha Municipality ward no 4. In derivatives forms, the address are however correctly filled. Does this need unlocking and revising DS 260 form??
March 9, 2025 at 10:07
Correct that at the interview.
March 8, 2025 at 15:52
hello simon,
hope you are doing well
1- i will enter to us this week and i would like to ask if there something that i should know about the first port of entry interview? i heard they can ask to sign form i 407 is that correct?
2- second thing i would like to know is that i will enter only for one week and then will return to my country for three months before permanently moving to the states. should i inform uscis? i am afraid that with trump administration they could tell that i have abandoned my green card process and ask me to sign form i407.
thank you
March 8, 2025 at 17:57
1. There is nothing to prepare for. Relax.
2. That isn’t a problem, you don’t need to share your plans with anyone. Stop worrying about the I-407
March 8, 2025 at 14:45
hello simon . When I entered information in DS260. I entered the passport information and it will expire after 7 months. Now it has expired. Should I open DS260 for change it or i leave it until the interview day? my case number AF29k
March 8, 2025 at 17:55
Leave the DS260 as is, just take the new passport to the interview, along with the old one if possible.
March 8, 2025 at 13:12
DV-2025 AOS case. Brit, would you recommend to take advantage of early filing option per the advance notification chart in the VB? Or too risky of rejection/refusal since a clerk at the lockbox doesn’t know their own process? I prefer to file early but if risk too high, I won’t do it until CN becomes valid per the standard table.
March 8, 2025 at 17:53
I always advise people to use early filing.
March 8, 2025 at 13:08
Hi Simon. We are dealing with quite an unusual situation. Due to a pause on processing any cases submitted by people who came in on Humanitarian Parole, our case is stuck pending in AOS past interview. It’s on adjudicative hold which might last until September 30, and our Senator got a response confirming that, with no timeline for resolution. We are considering switching to CP as the only valid way for us to get permanent residence, but the process is very confusing and it’s unclear if it’s even doable, since we already so far down the AOS path. Any clarify or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
March 8, 2025 at 17:53
KCC would probably not have any information about your AOS case. So – if you contacted them, you could probably get them to schedule a CP interview. If you do, say very little, do not create any problems by telling lies.
Of course if you do that, it would cancel the AOS process, and you would pay the fees again. So – before you do such a thing you should be very sure you want to do it.
March 8, 2025 at 13:07
hi Simon I’m from Sri Lanka my husband living in Tokyo I m also moved to Tokyo after I submitted ds 260 and I changed my interview location from Colombo to Tokyo my question is before I came to Japan my husband moved to another address.when I changed my interview location location I proved our new address to kcc but we did not unlock ds 260.should I unlock it and should I update our new address
March 8, 2025 at 17:49
Yes
March 9, 2025 at 08:40
but when I changed my interview location kcc replied to me like this. ‘Based on the information you have provided, your interview location has been changed from Colombo to Tokyo. The new interview location will not appear on your DS-260, but will be used by KCC for scheduling purposes’
March 8, 2025 at 10:45
Hello Mr. Simon, does the travel ban on Afghans affect the lottery or not? If it does, does that mean our dream of going to America is over? Has our chance been lost?
March 8, 2025 at 17:49
There is no ban in force yet.
March 8, 2025 at 09:38
Dear Simon,
I hope you are doing well. I wanted to share my situation with you—I won the DV Lottery this year! I had my visa interview last week, and fortunately, my visa was approved. I will be traveling to the U.S next month.
However, during my interview, I discovered that I had made some mistakes in my initial lottery registration. The consular officer asked me about these errors, and there was also an issue with my initial registration photo. Since that photo was a bit old, the officer had difficulty recognizing me due to the significant change in my appearance.
Despite this, my visa was approved, and I received my passport. However, I am now wondering if I will face any issues when I present the yellow packet to the immigration officer at New York airport. Will the officer review my initial lottery registration and see my old photo? Or will they only focus on the documents inside the yellow packet?
I would really appreciate your response to my inquiry.
March 8, 2025 at 17:48
No issues.
March 8, 2025 at 09:19
Dear Simon,
Trust you are good
Thank you for your guidance.
My interview is coming up soon
1. Education: i have an MBA in finance and bachelor of Arts. However, with my Wassce results i had E8 in science. The rest were good. With A, Bs and Cs. I have 8 years of work experience, 6 of which is in the banking sector. Will this be a problem?
Thanks
March 8, 2025 at 17:48
I doubt you will have a problem.
March 8, 2025 at 05:39
Hi Brit,
Hope you are doing well.
Please, is there any ideas on the causes for too many dv lottery visas denials in Monrovia, Liberia? If you monitor their results on ceac chat and data analysis is kind of really discouraging. I am so concern knowing what might the cause
March 8, 2025 at 17:48
I don’t have any data on that.
March 8, 2025 at 05:07
Hi Simon,
Is a second draw impossible? I told everyone that the results of the first draw are final, but there are those who want a second draw.
March 8, 2025 at 17:47
In some years there is a second draw. It won’t happen in DV2025 since there are already too many selected.
March 8, 2025 at 01:05
Hello Mr. Simon, if travel to the U.S. is banned for Afghans, will the lottery winners also be at risk, and will their process be canceled?
March 8, 2025 at 17:46
The travel bans, IF IMPLEMENTED, would probably also affect DV lottery. But we have to wait to see the wording of any bans.
March 7, 2025 at 16:56
Hi Simon,
I read your reply about going to SSA 3 weeks after entering the US if you didn’t receive a SSN card by then. I will enter the US for the first time in 2 months, but I selected that I don’t want my SSN card to be produced automatically – should I go to SSA immediately or also wait for 3 weeks? Thank you very much for your contribution.
March 7, 2025 at 17:13
In that scenario, wait one week after entry. SSA staff always seem to tell lies to avoid work. So, you have to be persistent with them.
March 7, 2025 at 16:26
Hello,
since there are no interviews in Casablanca on both march and April, does it mean morocco will be stuck in 27,950 for the next 2 months?
Also can you please talk about Casablanca in your next video? you have few Moroccan viewers due to language barrier but we definitely exist.
Thank you!
March 7, 2025 at 17:14
CSB rescheduled some interviews into April and May. Whether than affects the VB or further scheduling we will have to wait and see.
March 7, 2025 at 14:19
Hi Simon, I got selected for last years lottery 2025EU00040XXX. My questions are 1. Do I have any odds of selection? 2. Can I still apply? 3. Should I apply?
March 7, 2025 at 15:37
1. Probably not. Your case number is very high.
2. Yes
3. It is your decision, but I would not apply in your position (completing a DS260 shows immigrant intent which can make future non immigrant visas more complicated)
March 7, 2025 at 11:09
Not a question ,but seeing how nobody asking for VB or prediction..
They understood the assignment
Very mindful,very demure 😍
March 7, 2025 at 14:11
Haha!
March 7, 2025 at 10:08
Hi Simon. I have entered the US for the first time yesterday and went straight to SSA in Washington DC, as I need to get an SSN asap in order not to miss out on a job offer I have. There, they told me I need to wait 45 days, and I should come back if I don’t receive a SSN card by then. In the application process, I indicated I want to have my SSN done automatically, although now I hear that that process often doesn’t work. Is it possible to go to SSA before the 45 day deadline and try to speed up the process? What should I expect if I go there after 1 or 2 weeks, as you indicated in one of your posts? Thank you
March 7, 2025 at 14:10
Wait 2 to 3 weeks after entry. If you haven’t received it by 3 weeks that is when you would go to the SSA office. The 45 days is nonsense.
March 7, 2025 at 09:50
Hi Brit!
My case Number is AF24xxx. My question relates specifically to the US Embassy in Monrovia. Is i-134 affidavit of support part the required documents for dv lottery 2025?
March 7, 2025 at 14:09
I don’t know about how often that embassy asks for an I-134.
March 8, 2025 at 01:38
Hello Simon,Hope you have a great day
I would like to know about the current sir.
The current means is released Visa bulletin time or got 2NL date time?sir
I’d appreciate your thoughts
March 8, 2025 at 17:47
Current relates to when your number is “approved for processing”, but the release of the Visa bulletin.
March 7, 2025 at 09:43
is i-134 affidavit of support part of kcc pre-interview checklist for dv lottery 2025
March 7, 2025 at 14:08
In some embassies, and in some cases, it will be required.
March 7, 2025 at 17:51
please permit me a follow up: The additional Checklist required by the Monrovia US Embassy says nothing about I-134 but many relations are telling me to get it before the interview. What do you advice?
Since February 2025 Monrovia has a preinterview screening which I just got my mail to attend. It reads:
“You are receiving this e-mail because the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) has scheduled your Diversity Visa Interview for 26th March 2025.
To ensure that you have all the required documents and will be interview ready, the Embassy has scheduled a Document Review and Biometric Appointment for you on Thursday, 12th March 2025 at 1:00 p.m.”
In addition to your KCC Pre-Interview Checklist, you must also bring along the following documents to your interview:
March 7, 2025 at 21:33
Any embassy can ask for it if you don’t have substantial savings to support yourself in the USA. If they ask for it and you don’t have it, you will be delayed while you obtain it. So, you can decide what to do.
March 6, 2025 at 16:23
Hi britsimons, I’m dv 2025 winner from Afghanistan will kcc schedule interview for dv applicant after travel ban
dose the travel ban means Lossing chance of getting a visa
March 6, 2025 at 19:18
There is no ban at this time, but yes a travel ban might cost some people their chances.
March 6, 2025 at 13:58
Hi Brit Simon! If everything goes well, I am planning to travel to the US in June to activate my green card (my interview is scheduled for April). Since it will be a short vaccation trip, I would like to travel with my partner. We are not married, so it’s just me, who is going to be a LPR (my partner will aply for L visa). So my question is: is it gonna be a problem at the border control, since I have (obviously) an immigration intent, and my partner will travel (at this point of the time) with ESTA?
March 6, 2025 at 15:38
Your partner doesn’t need to go to the immigration window with you. I suggest you separate, especially since you will probably go through a secondary process. You can meet your partner in the arrival hall….
March 6, 2025 at 11:36
Hello Simon, My sister is 2025 dv winner but she is 15 years old.Can she get a visa?sir
Thank you Simon!
March 6, 2025 at 15:42
She is probably not eligible. The education requirement is the level of education needed to be able to start University education (Tertiary education). In most countries that level of education is achieved around 18 years old.
March 6, 2025 at 19:43
is there anything she can do sir?like taking some classes or some skills that can support her to get the visa. Thanks alot sir
March 6, 2025 at 21:59
No, this is a fundamental rule.
March 5, 2025 at 22:35
Hi Brit, Afghan Evac (an NGO) has published a new report that a travel ban is going to be imposed maybe on one or two weeks for Afghanistan nationals and some other countries. So if it happens mostly the USRAP programs are going to be affected or all programs contain DV program?
Thanks for response
March 6, 2025 at 09:07
Travel bans usually apply to all visa types, but obviously it is pointless to speculate about something that hasn’t happened yet.
March 6, 2025 at 09:38
I wish that it won’t happen.
Thanks btw
March 5, 2025 at 18:14
Hi Simon,
This week, my partner and I had an interview in Sydney. We are applicants from the EU.
The interview went well. We were asked several questions about our documents, including military records (we are exempt from military service). The consular officer said that everything looks good but mentioned that we need to go through some administrative processing. We didn’t receive any paper as well stating that an additional document is required. The counsel took out passports and all copies of documents.
He didn’t specify how long it would take but said we would receive an email once it’s completed. They also wished us a great life in the United States.
I’ve seen many cases in Sydney with a similar situation. Is this a common occurrence? Are there any indicative timelines, or is it entirely unpredictable?
Thank you
March 5, 2025 at 19:32
They probably need to check your documents as they are not common in Australia.
Typically that would take a couple of weeks. Be patient.
March 11, 2025 at 00:50
Hi Simon,
If a status has changed to Administrative Processing – is it a good sign?
March 11, 2025 at 05:59
Yes, that is the visa being printed.
March 15, 2025 at 18:12
Looks like Russia might be impacted. However, Russia has been removed from the list as of now (updated Reuters’ list).
What if we enter the country to activate the visa and become a Lawful PR? Will we be able to do an activation visa trip and leave US to re-entry in 3 months?
Can we travel with the current immigration visa from US until a physical green card is issued?
Thanks
D
March 15, 2025 at 19:33
Yes, after activation you are an LPR and can leave and re-enter with the stamped visa (which serves as proof of status until you get the greencard).
March 16, 2025 at 14:24
We made it to Honolulu, and now officially LPRs!!! Thank you
March 16, 2025 at 19:16
Nice!
March 16, 2025 at 21:06
Quick question regarding re-entry – can lawful permanent residents be banned to re-entry the country off the back of Trump travel ban? Is there any indication where this is going?
March 16, 2025 at 23:15
The ban is not in place yet, so we can only speculate, but a ban on LPRs is EXTREMELY unlikely, and would be the subject of lawsuits.
March 5, 2025 at 12:43
Hi BritSimon,
So I’m 19k EU 2025. I’m estimating that I’ll likely become current in either May or June. I actually live in the US right now but I need to go to a wedding in my home country (Ireland) on the 5th of June. I have chosen consular processing. What would be the usual approximate time I’d receive an appointment once I become current? If I become current in May, would I be right in assuming my appointment would most likely be late May, or could it even be early May?
Just wondering here in anticipation of finding out in the next bulletin that’s coming soon that I could become current in May and this might line up nicely with the fact that I have to travel to Ireland already in June and to get an idea of when I should book flights to try and get some overlap of the wedding and the interview. My understanding is that you only know your appointment when you get your 2NL which will only happen in the month that you become current.
With that said I know of course things might not work out that way and I may just need to change flights or stay longer etc in Ireland.
March 5, 2025 at 16:08
You are trying to predict the arrival date of something that is very unpredictable.
March 5, 2025 at 11:13
Dear Britsimon ,
I watched your video on how to assess embassy performance. I checked the Kuwait embassy on xarthisius website and noticed that they’ve only processed one Asian case, while the majority of their cases are from Africa. Since it’s been six months, do you think it’s concerning and ubnormal that they’ve only handled one Asian case or maybe don’t have Asian case ? I also compared it to last year, and it seems they processed more Asian cases back then. Should I be worried and consider changing my embassy if I’m an Asian applicant? I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts.
March 5, 2025 at 16:06
It is not possible to ignore a region, so they have scheduled the cases they had. I would not be worried.

Hello Simon,
I went through the comment but, it was not enough to clear my doubts.
After I watched your video and looked at the DV chart, I found out that there have been no records of interview at New Delhi, India and, if I am not mistaken I think I applied for New Delhi as my interview location. Therefore my question is will they give another location for my interview or do I have to submit an application to KCC.
PS:Thank you for your efforts on the videos.

They will automatically use Mumbai.

CSPA for good advantage freezing time (+Entry date & current date ) for Children who were 21st year old for GC right? if they calculate time ( im already pass through according to CSPA rule bcuz im already 21 y/o and 9 months ) CSPA rule is the only chance for 21 y/o children bcuz they make time for 21y/o children.even they make time for me im already 21 y/o and 9 months.
1.I’m alreay 21st and 9months old on this march so is there any chance that i can go interview with my mom?

The key is your parents case number. Your protection from CSPA covered you up until January 2025. If your parents case number was current for January or before, you are protected. If not, then you lost the protection.

My parents CN V.B was on Feb 21 because my parent CN is around 3.6k but I already passed the medicine examination with my parents.is there any chance that they might call me to interview with parents?is it all about luck sir? So – your parents became current for January interview (AS was made current up to 5500).
The CSPA protection for DV2025 is 213 days. Adding 21 years and 213 days to June 2, 2003 gives January 1, 2025. That means you were protected for the month of January, and can be issued along with your parents.
Now – I strongly suggest you *study* my article below and print the official page for the CSPA calculation. You will likely need that in the interview because you have literally NO ROOM for mistakes.

and because of my parents CN was current before the January 2025?so i will print the CSPA rule from official USCIS right? im not clearing 1 thing that is current means for released V.B time or got 2nl time sir? if current means V.B time so i can request C.O for visa with CSPA rule.Ohh that’s why do you want me to print the CSPA rule from USCIS web for showing and requesting to C.O? Thanks for giving me time and patience with me sir <3

Hello, my wife is the primary applicant. Her highest level of education is a tertiary degree. We submitted our DS-260s as a family in mid 2024. At this point in time my wife had just quit her most recent job. So she listed ‘NOT EMPLOYED’ under Primary Occupation. In January 2025 my wife launched a new business, and is now self employed. We have our Consulate interviews coming up in April 2025. My question: is it necessary to unlock her DS-260 prior to the interview to add in her newly acquired self employed status? Or is this something we can just mention at our consulate interview? Thanks for all your great work.
March 5, 2025 at 10:00
No need to unlock for that.

Hello. I entered the USA to activate my green card on January 15, 2025 (winner DV2025). It is now March 04, 2025 and I still haven’t received anything (neither social security number nor green card). However, I have a physical mailbox because I rented an apartment for 6 months on Airbnb. For the green card, I’m aware that the deadline is up to 4 months, but shouldn’t I already have received the social security number? Is there any way I can check on the progress of my application? Thank you !

For the SSN you should go to the SSA office.
March 6, 2025 at 20:23
Can you go to the SSA office even if you elected to have the SSN (card I assume?) mailed with the green card?
March 6, 2025 at 21:59
Yes, but you mustbwait at least 1 to 2 weeks

Hello Simon,
I am DV2025 selectee with case number of 2025AS12xxx. I am from Myanmar. I have checked the ceac data for Rangoon Embassy and found that it is a little bit late compared to Bangkok Embassy. I would like to ask for your opinion about if it is better for me to move to Bangkok Embassy for the interview or should I just get interviewed at Rangoon Embassy.
Thanks in advance.

This is a decision you must make for yourself.

Subject: Inquiry on Delayed DS-260 Processing (DV2025AF26K – NRB Embassy)
Greetings Simon,
Thank you for your selfless dedication to guiding DV selectees through this often stressful journey.
I am a DV 2025 selectee (2025AF26K) assigned to the Nairobi Embassy. As the principal applicant, I submitted four DS-260 forms for my wife and two kids (M5 & M2) on June 4, 2024. Both my wife and I are healthcare professionals with no weapons experience, Middle East travel history, or travel outside Africa.
My questions are:
1. For DV2025, are there many current cases still waiting for DS-260 processing?
2. During COVID-affected DV years, did delayed DS-260 processing or low embassy capacity play a bigger role in the few 2NLs issued?
3. Does eight months of DS-260 processing constitute an unusual delay?
4. What would you advise for cases facing prolonged DS-260 processing delays?
I contacted KCC but received the default “forms are being processed” response.
Thank you for your invaluable support.
Kind regards,
Patrick

1. I don’t have access to the data. But the backlog is normally gone by March/April at the latest.
2. No
3. Not that unusual.
4. Patience.

Hi Brit, I paid my USCIS Immigrant Fee on 8th February 2025. I created an online account with USCIS but there is nothing about my case in the account. The website allows me to add a case to the account using a OAC number, but my case number (received after paying the immigrant fee) is an IOE number. The website allows me to progress if I enter my IOE number but then asks for an online access code (Example: ABCDE-1234-ABC12). I have no idea what or where the online access code is supposed to come from.
Is this normal or should I be able to see the case in the account by now? I entered the USA on 20th February 2025.
March 5, 2025 at 09:54
USCIS say you can’t get updates in the first 90 days.

Hi Sir,
Hope you are doing great..
Please, what do you think about AF 39k? Is it safe in Monrovia, Liberia??
March 4, 2025 at 08:35
The number is safe to become current, but embassy performance is not guaranteed.
March 4, 2025 at 16:48
Please, the embassy performance is not guaranteed in what means? Is it to get an interview appointment or the causes of too many visas denials
March 5, 2025 at 09:49
There is no guarantee that embassies will schedule all of the cases that become current.
March 5, 2025 at 03:09
HI BritSimon
what do think of Monrovia, Liberia Embassy when you say its performance is not guaranteed
March 5, 2025 at 10:58
Performance is not guaranteed by any embassy.
March 4, 2025 at 00:05
Hello Simon
In one of your videos you mentioned that AV queues are ordered not only by case number but also by region(alphabet)…. As in AF cases before AS and EU. So case number EU14k is scheduled after AF 29999 since both are current for April .
If the embassy has a backlog meaning the EU case doesn’t get interview in April.. Does the EU case keep it’s place in the queue for May interview or is moved behind all the AF cases that will be current for May as well?
March 4, 2025 at 08:33
Once a case enters the AV queue, it keeps it’s place. The ordering is only done once – as the cases are added to the queue.

Sir, I am a winner in the lottery and my number is very close. My question is: Can I change the passport and obtain a new one because I need to change the job in the passport from a university student to a holder of a bachelor’s degree? Is there a problem with the interview with a new passport different from the one registered with in the form and application?
March 3, 2025 at 21:44
Nonproblem changing the passport, but the reason for changing the passport is ridiculous.
March 4, 2025 at 05:08
Hello Brit.
It seems like FTN is backlogged, so as I told u the last time I want to write KCC to transfer my case to MRV. Family of 6, but I will be going alone to do my interview then later within the fiscal year my derivatives will do there since I don’t want my children’s academic work to be affected and also because of financial challenges in processing for all of us at a go.
1. Will that be a good reason to give to the CO Incase he/she asks why I appeared alone?
2. Hope there will be no problem to schedule a date for them after my interview?
March 4, 2025 at 08:34
1. Maybe
2. That is a risk.
March 3, 2025 at 16:24
Hi Simon! I was looking at Xarthisius’s website, and there are 14 cases with 2NLs issued on 2025-01-19, but none of them is assigned to an embassy. They all still show as “In Transit.” Just curious, as it’s been over a month, and from my understanding, the timeline seems a bit excessive, but I could be wrong. What could be the reason for this? Thank you!
March 3, 2025 at 16:44
Some embassies are slow to update the cases to ready. It’s not a problem.
