Dear Britsimon, Thank you for your help so far!
I am previously DV 21 selectee but didn’t make it due to pandemic and the court case. During that time I only submitted my DS 260. Now I have a plan to move to USA by F1 visa. Does previous DV has an effect on my Non-immigrant visa?
April 19, 2025 at 17:10
It might cause some concern, so plan how you will convince them that you intend to return home at the end of the F1 visa time.
April 19, 2025 at 15:03
DV2025 winner EU17000. I was born in the UK but I cross charged to my citizenship country since all my ties are in the other country (my parents were in the UK temporarily for 6 months). I heard you mention issues with UK for DV2025 (like they forgot about it). Will this impact my cross charge AOS case?
April 19, 2025 at 17:09
No
April 19, 2025 at 15:03
I got the visa approved. But few weeks later, my application for a European nationality also got approved. Unfortunately, the visa is stamped in a passport from a country that doesn’t allow multiple nationality. This means obtaining a new nationality makes my current passport invalid. If I travel with my EU passport, can I still enter with the US visa? Otherwise, what can I do?
April 19, 2025 at 17:08
I’m not really sure of your exact situation, so I don’t think I can give you accurate advice. BUT I would say, you should decide where you will actually live and plan that way.

Hi Simon
I saw some cases on DV 24 with transfer status , DV 02 or DV 03 those are follow to join cases ??
Also, is it possible they have just stuck on transfer until the end of fiscal year ?
How long does transfer from post to post takes ?
Do they prioritize DV cases during transfer? Other categories seem to take forever
April 19, 2025 at 13:05
DV2024 has ended, so any case not completed by September 30th lost their chance.
April 19, 2025 at 14:25
I know ,I just used DV 24 as reference to help some understanding and followed questions below
April 19, 2025 at 14:50
So I’m not entirely sure I understood your question. Perhaps an example would help.
April 20, 2025 at 05:34
I saw some cases with transfer status , DV 02 or DV 03 those are follow to join cases they don’t have DV 01 main applicant ??
Also, is it possible they have just stuck on transfer until the end of fiscal year ?
How long does transfer from post to post takes ?
Do they prioritize DV cases during transfer? Other categories seem to take forever
April 20, 2025 at 08:42
They are probably FTJ.
Transfer does not take long.

Hello BritSimon,
I am a DV 2026 applicant from Zambia and I have been trying to understand the conditions under which the 2NL is sent out; my initial understanding was the 2NL is sent out when the case number becomes current and the DS 260 has been submitted and processed. I have come across some cases like “2025AF25901, 2025AF26130” which show a 2NL date of 2025-02-21 on xarthisius’ site, I tried to check the visa bulletins and found the cut off for March was 25000. Are you able to help me understand how the 2NL was sent out in February?
April 19, 2025 at 12:37
The visa bulletin announces the VB numbers ahead of time. So, for example, cases eligible for interview in March were shown on the February Visa Bulletin, which is actually published in JANUARY. Then in January, after the VB is sent, cases being scheduled for March interviews get their 2NLs – 6 to 10 weeks before the interview date.

Hello britsimon. I had a Dv lottery visa refusal. The consul checked that I do not meet the rules of education even though I have a professional certificate that is equivalent to the technician’s baccalaureate and I even have the level certificate that says so that was issued to me by the Ministry of Higher Education
During my interview the consul got up almost 3 times for my diploma he was walking behind the desk apparently he was looking for a lot of information
I thought he had to put me on P.A (administrative procedure) to study my file and really see that I was right but he refused me
While even in the rules of participation it is written high school education or its equivalent
And I even know someone who is passing with a diploma equivalent to the baccalaureate last year he had the bt (technical certificate) diploma also equivalent to the baccalaureate
I’m sure of my diploma and I have an authentic diploma
How to contest this decision ?because it is unfair I respected the rules of the Dv lottery
April 19, 2025 at 09:23
I’m thinking that you have not paid close enough attention to the information I have explained. A professional certificate and even a “technician’s baccalaureate” both sound like vocational qualifications – meaning education toward some trade or skill such as plumbing, carpentry etc. The rules are clear, and I make it very clear in my explanations that vocational education does not satisfy the requirements. So, if I have understood your education correctly, then you were probably correctly refused.
Here is an excerpt from my article linked below on the subject.
“Vocational education
The rules specifically exclude vocational education as being used to qualify on education grounds. For example, if a selectee were to leave school at 16 and then immediately or later go into a vocational program such as teaching or nursing, the time spent in that vocational training/education could not be used to satisfy the educational requirement. In cases such as this, the selectee may need to consider whether their work experience is sufficient to meet the requirement #2.”

Hello Simon,
I will be interviewed in Abu Dhabi on 28th April at 11h45. But I want to reach to the embassy early morning by 7am. Do they allow people inside base on their timing or as long as the date is correct they can receive you earlier.
AF13k.
April 19, 2025 at 09:16
I don’t know the procedures for that particular embassy.
April 17, 2025 at 23:47
Hello Simon sir,
Greetings.
Today, received 2NL from the KDU embassy until around 7000 and again backlog around 1000. Updated VB was 8000 in Nepal. Can we expect the next VB from Nepal till 9000?
April 18, 2025 at 00:00
We will have to wait and see.
April 17, 2025 at 13:29
Hello Simon,
My case number (AF26K) has been current for interview since three months ago. I’m from Morocco, but the U.S. Embassy in Casablanca hasn’t scheduled any interviews this month or last month. I’m unsure whether I should keep waiting for the next three months or try to transfer my case to another embassy.
I was selected in DV2018 with a case number of 49K but unfortunately missed my chance. I really don’t want to lose this opportunity again😪. Please, I’d appreciate your advice.
Thank you.
April 17, 2025 at 23:11
You are probably locked in to CSB, so keep your fingers crossed that they take some cases.
April 17, 2025 at 11:10
Hello dear simon
My husband is winner of diversity visa lottery
We been interviewed in 25 November and we have been put in administrative processing
My son at the time of interview was 20 years old
He turned 21 in april 10 of 2025
In the day of my son birthday
Status of my son case has been turned in to refused(rejected)
I think because he turned 21 that happened
According to cspa law my son cspa age doesn’t pass the 21
What should we do
Should we email ambassy or get lawyer ?
April 17, 2025 at 23:10
Just email the embassy pointing out the CSPA protection. They will be fine with it.

Hi Simon,
I plan to go to the US for activation trip in May and just stay two weeks and return to my home country for some weeks before reentering US. Since I believe I won’t be able to receive my green card within two weeks while in the US, how do I re-enter the US later without the green card? I read you must carry your green card to enter the US.
Thanks
Clemens
April 17, 2025 at 23:09
When you enter the first time, your DV visa is stamped and is valid for entry during the first year.
April 16, 2025 at 22:34
Hello Simon! I have a question regarding travelling with a Green Card, now that Trump Administration is very strict. Seven years ago my husband was denied entry to the USA while having just a B1/B2 visa. He opted to withdraw his application there in front of an immigration officer, so he would not be deported and deny admission for 5 years.
After that he won the Lottery, we came to the usa 3 years ago and have been living here ever since. We went last year abroad as well and when entering the USA he was asked to go with the officer and after a few minutes he came back and we had no problem.
We want to go again abroad, but we are more concerned now with the Trump Administration. Could they deny him reentry based on that red flag he might still have when checking in? Thank you for your answer in advance!
April 16, 2025 at 23:10
You are overthinking. Relax.
April 16, 2025 at 22:01
Bula Simon
After our interview today. the visa officer gave us the 221g slip. we need to provide a document that they need. my question is “Does the 221g have a valid time for us to provide the document”?
April 16, 2025 at 23:09
There is no time limit for 221g, but if the 221g is not resolved by September 30th, your chance is gone.
April 17, 2025 at 13:06
Thank you for this Simon.
1.After we email the missing document. do they email us again for another interview? And
April 17, 2025 at 23:10
No.
April 16, 2025 at 16:09
Ciao Brit,
Grazie
April 16, 2025 at 16:33
Hi Brit,
Thanks for the work you are doing.
It was very helpful.
I am a 2025 dv lottery winner.
I am planning to go to the US in August, for a week.
Activate my green card.
How safe is this plan?
Is there a written law that allows it?
Things are changing a lot lately.
I am wondering if anyone has recently traveled with this plan, that is, staying a short time and returning home to finish their things.
Sorry, I just wanted to be sure if it is a safe plan.
Thanks
April 16, 2025 at 17:56
It’s fine.
April 16, 2025 at 11:32
Hi Brit,
My case number is current but status still says at NVC, do you think I could transfer to another embassy at this time?I’m from Nairobi AF38K.
April 16, 2025 at 13:09
You should have switched before you became current. Now you are probably locked in to NRB and have to hope they start taking cases.
April 16, 2025 at 10:56
Hi Simon,
Hope you are doing well!
I have been selected for the 2025 DV lottery, my case number looks something like EU16XXX. My case is not current, but will be in June according to the bulletin. As far as I know, this year’s lottery is a bit different as in, I do not need to submit any documents after the DS-260 and before the interview gets scheduled. I live in a different country to my designated interview country and I do not want to change it, but rather go back and take the interview there. In your opinion, what would be a good guess as to when the interview will be scheduled, like a timeframe? So my case becomes current in June. Is it safe to assume that the interview will be scheduled within that month? And if yes, could it be like early June or late June? Need to know for transportation reasons.
Thank you in advance.
April 16, 2025 at 13:08
I can’t tell you the timing, particularly as you are not giving me a clue about the embassy. But even with that I can’t tell you when in the month it would be. I suggest you wait for the 2NL.
April 15, 2025 at 12:07
Hello Simon
I hope you are doing well.
1.) I want to ask please, I have a friend who is a former military personnel and now has a trucking company in the us. Can I ask him to file the i-134 for me for my dv lottery case? I do not have any dependency as I am single. I won alone.
2.) my case number is AF41*** Cameroon Yaounde embassy but I have not gotten my 2nl yet. It seems the embassy is a lil slow but I’m current in the visa bulletin. Do you think I’ll have a chance given there are few months left?
April 15, 2025 at 13:08
1. Yes
2. Maybe. Cameroon has been doing well, although it is a little backlogged.
April 15, 2025 at 08:13
Hello Simon, trust you are doing great.
I am DV 2025AF28xxx and was scheduled to interview on May 7th in Yaounde, Cameroon. On the embassy website, it says to register the interview on the Avits website before that date if not you won’t be granted entry but when I try to do so, I get stuck on the part where I have to input “Case ID”. When I input my case number, I keep getting a “entered case id is wrong” message. I’ve even tried with the zeros and with my DS260 confirmation number but it doesn’t work. I’m starting to get worried as my interview date is less than 3 weeks away.
I will really appreciate it if you could help me with what I can do.
Best regards.
April 15, 2025 at 09:56
I don’t know that site and don’t know what info you are entering – but it is a site designed to be used with little or no instruction – so it should be possible….
April 14, 2025 at 15:01
Hi Simon, hope you well and thanks for your support. AF51***. What I want to ask is regarding passport. I am in the UK on a family reunion joining my husband who is on a humanitarian protection and I do not have a passport/travel document and not able to request that from my government. Is it worth it to apply for the certificate of travel from the UK government to help me with my travels to the US, if my number becomes current in July or August. Does not having the passport hinder my case in any way? Thanks Sam
April 14, 2025 at 16:10
I don’t know what is available to you, or what might help a US immigration case.
April 14, 2025 at 13:38
Hi Simon,
Could you please help me decide between the Yerevan and Abu Dhabi embassies for AS cases? Based on my research using Xarthisius, there doesn’t seem to be much difference between the two, and both have been performing quite well so far this year.
I’m more inclined to choose Abu Dhabi based on my circumstances, but I do have the option to go with Yerevan if it turns out to be the better choice. I’ll likely become current in the next Visa Bulletin, so I’d really appreciate your thoughts and confirmation on this.
Thanks in advance!
April 14, 2025 at 13:53
I explain to people the ways to investigate embassy performance, but I don’t give advice on which embassy to select in situations like yours. You must decide for yourself.
April 14, 2025 at 14:06
Thanks, Simon. I completely understand and appreciate your approach. I’m not asking for a recommendation—just hoping to get your opinion on how these two embassies have been performing. That insight would really help me make an informed decision on my own.
April 14, 2025 at 16:09
Your earlier assessment seems correct.
April 14, 2025 at 10:44
Hi Britsimon ,
Some people have received their 2NLs since Friday , while others are still waiting. For those who still have haven’t , How long does it usually take to get the 2NL once a case is current and processed? Are these 2nl being sent out in batches on specific days? Also, is there any particular order in which they send out like by case number order, embassy, or alphabetical order of embassy ?
Thanks for your support
April 14, 2025 at 10:59
2NLs get sent out in an approximate embassy alphabetical order. Same way every month. Be patient.
April 14, 2025 at 10:07
Hi BritSimon!
Thank you for your coverage over the DV matter!
Here is my situation, I live in NYC with my husband and he was selected with number EU233XX. We are hearing horror stories about how slow the offices process AOS here and we are thinking about leaving the country and do Consular Processing instead.
Do you think it makes sense? We feel like our number has high chances to hit and to get an interview if we go back to Europe.
On the official website the average time for AOS in NYC is 12.5 months.
Thank you for your time!
April 14, 2025 at 10:57
AOS for DV cases does not take the normal timelines. Relax.
April 14, 2025 at 04:27
Hello Simon,
1) Quick one, do I need to travel the US with the documents I presented to the interview ? (police certif, diplomas, work experience etc…)
2) So just to be clear with everything, to travel to the US, I need to bring :
X Rays
sealed envelop
(obviously passport & visa)
Am I missing something ?
Many thanks,
Quentin
April 14, 2025 at 10:56
1. No
2. Nothing missed.
April 14, 2025 at 01:43
Hi Simon!
Unfortunately, for the second consecutive month my CN has not become current.
At EU178XX, I still expect to be current before the end of September. My question is the following:
– I am assigned to Frankfurt. Given that it is a relatively busy consulate, and that on 2024 AF and AS cases got priority over EU cases on the final visa bulletin, is there anything I could potentially do to avoid becoming current but having no consulate capacity at FRN?
Best,
DJ
April 14, 2025 at 10:55
Overthinking. Relax and wait.
April 13, 2025 at 17:44
Hello! Dear Simon.
In your last live you said that the EU region will probably have last monute big jump I agree with you.
If that happened what would I do to maximize my chance of getting my Visa (CN2025EU32xxx) giving that I am at the embassy that is up to date but has a consistant number 20 to 30 interview per 1000 case. After whatching your last live I decided to change my ds260 address to another country to change my embassy to the one that per 1000 has 3 to 6 interview(Also europe region but you mentioned several embassies that are actually in Asia or Africa and you said those embasies would have A higher chance if “hail merry” happened). But I am not present in the country nor i have been there in my life.
1) Not being present in the country B and chosing address there can cause problems at interview? Can visa officer challange me that I was not living in country B?
2) After being scheduled in the country B will I be able to change my interview to country A?
3) Do I have to do my medical test in country B if I change my interview to country B or can I do it elswhere?
4) Regarding to document translate does it have to be translated in the country B if I change my interview to country B?
5) Do you think that it would help me If i take action and change the embassy? And also do you think it is vise to change embassy to another embassy that is located in another region and has its own dv lottery visas or an embassy that is located in another region which its citizens are not eligeble for DV lottery and thus does not have too many dv cases?
April 14, 2025 at 10:55
1. Yes.
2. Possibly.
3. Typically in the country of interview.
4. Yes, although English is accepted everywhere.
5. You must decide for yourself.
April 13, 2025 at 12:23
Hi Brett,
I previously answered my question about the country of eligibility. I was born in Saudi Arabia, but I chose the country of eligibility based on the country of birth of my father and mother, which is Egypt. Here’s your answer.
For that, you will need to talk to them and see what they can provide. It will help if you can show that you were educated outside of SA and so on.
I should explain: this exception to the rules is called the missionary exception. It is *supposed* to be used when the country of birth is ineligible. However, you will hopefully get a friendly CO who will approve. But you have to understand there is some risk that they won’t agree with using the exception in your scenario or that they don’t accept your evidence.
Regarding supporting documents, I completed my primary education in Saudi Arabia, my country of birth, but then completed my university education and then joined the army for a year in Egypt. Does this count as supporting documents?
I also have a question regarding supporting documents. Can I marry an Egyptian woman born in Egypt? Would this help me a lot? I submitted Form DS-260 and my number is AF53000.
April 14, 2025 at 10:53
Any documentation could be helpful.
Marrying now won’t reduce risk.
April 13, 2025 at 08:34
Dear Brit,
I used available data in xarthisius website for get some idea.
1.Due to this high density compared to last year, how many people need to schedule for fill the available visa as per your understanding?
April 14, 2025 at 10:52
About 65K
April 13, 2025 at 07:16
Hello Simon
I hope you are doing great today. I want to ask please,
My case number is current now and the visa bulletin is for June but when I go to the dv charts, the bars that indicate ready visa is still at around 30k and my number is AF40k. So my question now is, will those bars need to go to 40k before I get the 2nl?
Thank you for your response in advance
April 14, 2025 at 10:52
Yes, cases are scheduled in AV queue order, but that means lower case numbers get an advantage.
April 12, 2025 at 16:11
Hi BritSimon!
As you mentioned in today’s video, the final Visa Bulletin for the EU region could be a ‘Hail Mary’ and possibly overshoot.
1. To understand the chances for case number EU341**, what do you think the cutoff number might be in the final bulletin? For comparison, what was the final cutoff number for DV-2024?
2. And also can one with travel visa enter US after the final VB and do AOS if his case number became current only in the last VB or you should have entered prior to your CN become current?
April 12, 2025 at 17:37
1. I can’t predict the unpredictable.
2. Generally you would have needed to enter the USA earlier (depending on visa type).
April 12, 2025 at 23:35
Hello Brit. I have a question. I always use a tax preparer to file my taxes and I always tell him to do NR and it has come to my attention recently that he did 1040 for me last year and this year. I will be doing AOS probably in July since am on F1 from the lottery. What do you think of this situation? Will this cause any problem(s) during this process? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
April 14, 2025 at 10:51
Probably no impact to the DV case.
April 12, 2025 at 13:11
Hi Mr Simon from Trinidad Port of Spain embassy if we are selected and one of our son is disabled 8 years old
But we can financially take care of him for life …. Would this affect winning visa or how do we approach this ? Thank you
April 12, 2025 at 17:35
It wouldn’t affect your ability to get the visa.
April 12, 2025 at 13:08
Hi, Simon
Is there still a good chance for AS17k?
April 12, 2025 at 17:35
Still a chance…
April 12, 2025 at 12:58
Hey Simon
i will have my interview next month. I just checked CEAC data and it said that my case was last updated last week. So does that mean the conculate is at the moment check my case? Is that in any way a good or bad sign?
Sorry, overworried person speaking here 🙂
All the best!
April 12, 2025 at 17:35
We cannot tell what was the reason for the update. But – updates are normal.
April 12, 2025 at 10:02
hi Simon
I have a question about the photo
that i submitted in the initial application,as I am a dv2025 winner.
Could my case be rejected at the interview du to some missed photo requirements (photo quality mostly)?
Or winning the lottery and reach the visa interview stage means that the photo is accepted by default?
April 12, 2025 at 17:34
Chance of rejection at interview from photos is low.
April 12, 2025 at 05:57
Hi Simon!
From what you’ve said in various videos I sort of assume that you’ve invested more in real estate than in the stock market. Is this correct or are you closer to 50 – 50 ?
In which of these two have you make the most benefits since you arrived in the US ?
Thank you!
Cass
April 12, 2025 at 05:58
*made
April 12, 2025 at 09:23
Real estate is always where most of my money is, and that has served me well. Property market dips tend to be easier to time to allow you to buy in at the bottom, and the USA tax code is *stupidly* friendly to property investors.
April 11, 2025 at 20:08
Hi Brit. EU165XX AOS case. My CN is within the Advance Notification chart that was just published in the VB. Does this mean I can send my AOS package now?
April 11, 2025 at 23:18
Yes
April 11, 2025 at 11:25
Mistakenly omitted my diploma certificate on my ds260 but included my Bachelor’s. May also need to update my DS260 to after I completed my Masters which was completed after I submitted the DS250 m. Am I in trouble. What can I do to correct it. Already scheduled for interview
April 11, 2025 at 13:27
Just take all education evidence to the interview.
April 11, 2025 at 10:57
Hello Brit.
I asked you this question some months ago, but looking at the Visa Bulletin that the cut-off number for July is 17500 and the numbers are moving too slowly, I am a little bit concerned for my nr between EU19500-600, Embassy of Tirana, Albania. How is your prediction for this number?
Also, I wanted to ask if COVID vaccine is still obligatory (in case I will have the possibility for an interview?
Thanks a lot.
April 11, 2025 at 11:01
I meant “June”. Sorry
April 11, 2025 at 13:26
Frankly you have no need to even ask.
Covid vaccine no longer required. Just smart.
April 11, 2025 at 10:23
Hello Simon! What do you think about the EU after May 2025 VB? EU23k here, waiting for the AOS but I guess they just don’t care about the EU people get available visas 🙂 It’s the worst CN since 2006 for June, and there were no backlog in EU region except couple of consulates like Ankara.
April 11, 2025 at 13:22
It’s frustrating, for sure – but I don’t know what they will do next.
April 11, 2025 at 08:08
Hi Brit. It seems like this year the Eu region is way behind the predictions, and will most likely be smaller. I hope the 21k number for Eu is still safe, and will most likely be current for the August interviews.
April 11, 2025 at 13:18
We will see…
April 11, 2025 at 08:00
EU26xxx here, the 17500 for eu for June interviews . One of the worst years ever for higher number I suppose, since there are 3 bulletins left our chances seem to be dwindling month by month. Is there any hope?
April 11, 2025 at 09:29
I feel you, EU28xxx here and I am utterly disappointed 🙁
April 11, 2025 at 14:41
I hope we both get it. 🤞🏻
April 11, 2025 at 13:18
Yes, there is still some hope. We have to wait and see.

Hi Sir,
Hope you are doing well.
If an interview chance is affected by DS-260 processing, and embassy capacity?
1. Especially DS-260 processing, is it possible to submit early DS-260 and still face problems with form processing even if the case number becomes current months after submission of Ds 260?
2. If yes, what might the cause?
3. I submitted my DS-260 in July 2024 and in January 2025 I asked KCC to unlock my case for correction. Now that I’m expecting to be current in the upcoming VB Af 39k. I have email KCC twice to know the status of my form, early March and April. Here is their response….
Your forms have been received and are currently processing. Allow several weeks for processing. Interviews are scheduled numerically Base on case numbers that have completed processing.
I am so becoming concerned that I might be current but not receiving 2nl in this April month. I don’t know if am getting it all right. Please Sir, kindly help me understand🙏
Thanks so much Mr Simon.

1. Yes
2. Not all cases process at the same speed. Some are delayed for security checks, which could be from work history, qualifications, travel history or simply a name match.
3. So you won’t get an interview if your DS260 is not processed…

Please, So do you think my DS-260 should be processed by now if I am to receive 2nl this month for June interview?
April 11, 2025 at 14:34
Yes – if your DS260 is not processed by now, you won’t get a June interview.
April 12, 2025 at 09:53
Sorry for too many questions Sir.
1. Please, Is there any challenge(s) ahead since I am current but my form processing is incomplete and I might not receive 2nl this month?
2. If yes, would you kindly help me understand?
Many thanks Mr Simon.

No challenges. Simply more waiting.

Hi Mr Simon,
Hope you are doing great.
I’m here telling you thank you for the reliable informations. “You are so unique in your expertise. You are such an amazing Man.
So unfortunate I didn’t get my 2nl in April for June interview due to my form processing is still incomplete, as you previously stated.
There are 90 cases scheduled for June Interview in Monrovia, Liberia Embassy. There are few higher cases above mine and got 2nls.
Please, kindly help me with my questions Sir.
1. Will the upcoming VB publishing and cases won’t affect the current unprocessed DS-260 and also getting a 2nl? Like in my case.
2. Is it certain that I might likely get my 2nl in May for July interview?
3. If not 2, can you determine how long this is going to take me?
Thank you for your time and assistance Mr Simon.
April 29, 2025 at 09:27
1. The VB doesn’t affect cases at all.
2. It depends on whether/when your DS260 completes processing.
3. I don’t know how long your processing will take.

Dear Simon, can you please advise here, AF2025, I had my interview in November last year, However since I live in another country than my one of my origin, CO asked me for a Document that can be delivered from my country of origin and since it has not been delivered, the possibility is that it will be ready in May. is there any risk? considering my medicals are valid for 6 months and it’s almost 6 months since I had my interview. Please advise.
April 10, 2025 at 13:56
Of course there is risk. You will probably have to repeat the medical. Hurry up.

Hi Dear Briti,
My case no. is AF 29xxx and I am expecting the email till now. Is it delayed more or slready passed?
April 10, 2025 at 13:55
Your interview chance is affected by DS260 processing, and embassy capacity.

Hi Brit, thank you for sharing all valuable information about DV Lottery. My husband is born in Kosovska Mitrovica (city) in Kosovo which USA recognizes as independent country. However, my husband can only provide documentation issued by Serbia (birth certificate, passport etc..) Since Serbia doesn’t recognize Kosovo as independent country on the birth certificate it‘s written that country of birth is Serbia. It is impossible for him to get the certificates of Kosovo. Would that be a problem if we get selected? And what is in his case country of eligibility? We currently live in Germany, so we would get interviewed in embassy in Germany.
April 10, 2025 at 13:55
Either country wouldn’t matter.

Thank you britsimonsays.com for your clarity on issues that confuse us. Please, I live in Nigeria for 14 years at 4 different addresses. I’m a Ghanaian. Do I need 4 difference police clearance reports or one will serve to cover for all.
PS. I filled my DS260 and indicated the 4 addresses.
April 10, 2025 at 13:53
One for Nigeria.

Hello Simon,
We received our passports back, and can see a VISA sticker in the passport. It has a Issue date of 22May24, and Exp date of 30Oct24. At the bottom, it states ‘Upon endorsement serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year.
We entered the USA on 26Oct24, and left 04Nov24 to return to Australia to wrap up our lives back home, before re-entering again.
I have received by Social Security Card, but have not received any other mail for Permanent Residency. It seems like I needed to apply for a permanent residency card after entering the USA? I was not aware of this and have since left the USA, and am currently in Australia.
Am I still able to enter the USA up until 30Oct25, utilising the VISA that is in my passport? My understanding is YES, but I wanted to double check with you. I am aiming to enter some time around the start of September, so I will be well under the 12 month absence period.
April 10, 2025 at 13:53
Yes.
The GC should be delivered before you get back. You can create a USCIS account to check that.

Hello Simon,
I hope you´re doing well.
My case number is AF62XXX, Is it likely that it won’t reach that number? Is that if we consider this in a linear way as it has been until now, of 5,000 at a time, it probably won’t be enough until the end of September, which is why I didn’t fill out the DS260, because as I have a B1 visa, I didn’t want to lose it when filling it out and not be able to move forward with the process.
Thank you in advance for your attention.
Best Regards
Jay R

Your number is in a range that cannot be predicted with certainty. You simply have to wait and see. VBs are NOt generally linear – but you will have to decide whether to submit the DS260 before you know for sure. So – decide.

Please I have a strange case refusal from Cameroon I would like to share
Okay this is the story
Case number 15k has interviewed on 16april at US EMBASSY YAOUNDE CAMEROON , got refused because as per the officer “fake” high school diploma that’s actually legit and the GCE board have make a letter of confirmation and legalized transcript copy to the embassy without them asking, plus letter from the visa applicant explaining why his high school certificate is looking different. The consulate couldn’t even listen to him at the day of interview but after we dropped off all proves from GCE BOARD AND LETTER OF explaination they called asking why we chosed to do interview in French while having certificate in English we explained and they said okay and dropped off the call. Note: we also dropped off passport and they still have original certificate with them at the embassy. Case status as of now show refused and is not 221g. do you think they could change their decision because it’s really their mistake, the certificate is legit cuz they applicant went to university using the same advanced level certificate
April 10, 2025 at 13:51
Well there are a couple of possibilities.
1. The CO decided the document was fraudulent.
2. The CO decided the education requirement was not met.
I don’t know which possibility this was. Generally it is hard to get the embassy to change their mind.

Hello Simon
Hope you are doing well today.
I want to ask pease. If I wind the do lotter solo, will I still need the i-134 if I have job contracts waiting for me in my arrival?
April 9, 2025 at 10:55
If you have legitimate job contract, then you can show that written offer, and sometimes that would satisfy the CO. However, it is “unusual” that an American company would keep a job open, waiting for an immigration process. That can lead to suspicion.

Hello Simon sir,
What is your exception for the Asia 9000 ?
When we will get 2NL?
April 9, 2025 at 08:17
Wait and see.
April 8, 2025 at 21:46
Dear Brit,
Thanks for your hard work!
I am writing regarding our Diversity Visa Lottery Green Card application. On **th of March, 2025 my wife and I attended our scheduled interview in the USA (I-485, adjustment of status, four-digit case number).
At the end of the interview, the inspector did not say “approved” or “not approved”, but just referred to the additional security check needed for my wife (but not for me) and told us to expect some updates later on.
Since that interview, our application status has not been updated, and we have not received any further correspondence or information (and actually there was no update of the case status PRIOR to the interview, meaning that there was no information about the very interview, we received the invitation in the form of a letter).
What would you do in this situation? Just sit and wait? Try to contact the live agent at USCIS?
Based on your experience, what’s the average timeframe between the end of the interview and the final decision (adjustment of status inside the USA)?
April 9, 2025 at 08:16
Waiting is all you need to do.
April 11, 2025 at 20:58
Thank you!
