Hi Simon,
When or if they lift the pause for DV2026, do you think it will apply only to consular processing through DoS, or also to AOS through USCIS for applicants already in the U.S.? Can they only make it applicable for CP? I was planning to file AOS and worried about this.
Thank you.
January 10, 2026 at 18:46
My answer would just be an uninformed guess.
January 10, 2026 at 12:22
Hi Simon,
Are you still planning to make a case prediction video for all the different regions or will this not happen due to the CEAC data being limited and all the other external factors such as pause and travel bans. I am a high EU case number and have yet to submit my DS-260.
January 10, 2026 at 14:13
Any predictions I do will carry heavy caveats because of the other factors that will affect progress. The math seems almost pointless.
January 10, 2026 at 01:11
I personally have a number in mind for Europe — around 16,000 for March — though I know that might be optimistic.
January 10, 2026 at 00:37
Hi Brit,
If possible, could you share your opinion on what the March Visa Bulletin number for DV Europe might look like?
I’m not asking for anything exact—just a general thought or feeling. I understand you don’t speculate, but even a rough view would be appreciated.
Thank you as always for your time and work.
January 10, 2026 at 10:16
I have no prediction. Literally none.
January 9, 2026 at 18:14
Hi Simon,
Winners from banned countries that submitted their ds260 and were scheduled for the interview but never attended, what will be their status in CEAC data?
January 9, 2026 at 18:39
Their status would be ready. BuT cases are now going dark because of the CEAC system changes.
January 9, 2026 at 14:20
@TravelGov
In Case You Missed It: The Department of State has paused issuance of all diversity immigrant visas. We will take the time and the measures necessary to protect U.S. national security and public safety. There are no new announcements regarding DV-2027 at this time. More information at https://ow.ly/isQg50XU8mq cela veut dire
Hey Simon,
I told you from the start that Trump is the one who gave the direct orders to stop the American Diversity Visa lottery. He even found a trick by charging just $1 to drag things out and waste time.
You kept saying the lottery is in the Constitution and Trump has to respect it… but come on, Trump doesn’t respect the Constitution at all!
If he can take over a whole country like Venezuela with all its oil and still do whatever he wants, you really think he’s gonna respect the Constitution for something like this?
There is no DV-2027 lottery anymore — it’s gone, finished. Wake up, man.
January 9, 2026 at 17:25
Why do you keep posting the same perspective over and over using different names trying to appear as different posters? You are sooo worked up about your point of view – as incorrect and underinformed as it is. Why bother posting over and over again? If you are upset that I don’t agree with your point of view – just move on and find someone to talk to who agrees with you…
January 9, 2026 at 07:58
Hey Simon, just for clarity and better understanding, given the recent changes in the CEAC system, which now seems to provide more limited information, if my status is currently “At NVC” (which, as I understand from you, means the case is still under processing), once the case is completed and moves to “In Transit” or “Ready,” will CEAC still reflect those status updates? Or has the system become less reliable for tracking progress, such that regularly checking the status may no longer be very informative?
January 9, 2026 at 08:58
NVC means not scheduled. Once a case is scheduled it moves to in Transit and then ready. Ready is the point at which the embassy receives the case, and that is when they add the name/passport info – meaning the case goes “dark” – so we will have no status from that point.
January 9, 2026 at 07:40
SImon, given the kind of events happening in the US right now (ICE, Venezuela, Greenland) and what the government is focussed on, do you think they’ll bother to lift the pause?
January 9, 2026 at 08:56
I think they can do more than one thing at once…
January 8, 2026 at 04:52
I think the timeline for the 2027 Diversity Visa program (DV-2027) will likely follow this scenario: registration might open at the beginning of February and close at the beginning of March. After about six months, results could be announced at the beginning of September 2026.
Visa issuance would then probably start on January 1, 2027 , and continue until September 30, 2027. Given this schedule, the total number of visas to be issued would likely be around 42,000 nstead of 55,000, since the issuance starts later than usual.
This seems to be the only practical way to manage the process efficiently and ensure all visas are issued within the required period. Of course, this is just my opinion, and applicants should always check the official U.S. Department of State announcements for confirmation.
January 8, 2026 at 04:12
Hello brit I have added all African fully or partial ban countries selectees and it’s up to 19k selectees . So from the ban perspective those 19k cases won’t received visas under immigration ban ? If yes that is very a sad issue for most people 😔 and I think that is why the visa bulletin is moving fast in Africa
January 8, 2026 at 09:06
It’s actually more than 20k – and yes it will affect the speed of the VB as I have been explaining for several weeks.
January 8, 2026 at 03:49
Hi Brit,
I’d really like to hear your opinion.
If we manage to get through this frustrating DV-2026 pause and are able to travel to the USA, which U.S. state would you recommend for a newcomer to start life with fewer difficulties (jobs, rent, adaptation)?
Thanks in advance.
January 8, 2026 at 09:03
It’s not a simple question. Different states offer different pros and cons, and every person is different.
January 9, 2026 at 05:13
I was thinking that Sacramento or San Diego might be suitable places to live. What do you think?
January 9, 2026 at 08:55
They might be fine – it depends on you.
January 8, 2026 at 03:39
Hi Simon. Just finished my proper interview at the London Embassy. They denied it under 221(g) and gave me back my passport and some documents (but also kept some I think). I asked and they said everything else looks ok and they will be in contact when the pause is lifted.
Just to double check, this means I’ll be able to get a green card after the pause is lifted? No need to worry right as I was rejected under 221(g) and nothing else?
January 8, 2026 at 09:02
Nothing is guaranteed until the visa is in your hand.
January 8, 2026 at 15:43
Hello Brit,
Considering the current situation where the embassy is not issuing visas, do you think that returning the passport to the applicant might risk losing the opportunity to obtain the visa? Or would it be more advantageous to postpone the interview date until it is certain that visas can be issued?
January 8, 2026 at 17:14
I would not postpone. Leaving the passport will just mean slightly faster issuance later.
January 7, 2026 at 15:40
Hi Brit ,
Do you that there is hope for partial banned countries in Africa like Zambia.?
January 7, 2026 at 17:14
From a DV lottery point of view, “partial banned” means fully banned.
And no I am not hopeful of the ban being lifted soon.
January 7, 2026 at 14:37
Hi Brit,
Do you think there’s any light at the end of the tunnel for the DV pause?
January 7, 2026 at 15:07
I think the pause will be temporary, yes.
January 7, 2026 at 12:32
Hi Simmon
Any hopes of Xarthisius still updating/extracting the ceac data ?
Thank you 😊
January 7, 2026 at 14:17
He is going to continue extracting data, but as the cases get scheduled, they will become “dark” cases and we will not have reliable data on issuances etc.
January 7, 2026 at 14:23
Thanks Simmon for the update.
January 7, 2026 at 11:08
Hi
I have an appointment coming in Montreal. I just gave birth and still working on getting birth certificate and passport and might not be able to make it in time. I do email them with proof I submitted a request for birth certificate and that I registered birth. They did not reply.
Question is, will they allow me to go in the interview with the baby?
-Anything else I should do?
Thank you
January 7, 2026 at 11:13
Well continue to try to contact them, and yes you should take the baby to the interview and the medical. The pause will delay the issuance anyway – so it is better to sort the visa out for the baby at the same time and be issued together.
January 6, 2026 at 16:35
Hi Brit, I have a question. If you pass the interview successfully, does the embassy usually keep your passport right away, or do they return it and then later send you an email asking you to bring it back?
January 6, 2026 at 17:01
Varies. Both are possible.
January 6, 2026 at 11:27
Hello simon.
There is this case where a family had a successful interview on 17th Dec 2026, The PA and two beneficiaries received their visas but one beneficially is yet to receive. What could be your advice on such a case.
January 6, 2026 at 16:08
They won’t issue visas during the pause.
January 6, 2026 at 11:04
Hey simon,
I hope you doing fine, my question is what’s your opinion about CSB ( Casablanca ) performance this year it’s very disappointing what going on here, after 5 VB they release just 20 interviews, my case number is around 20k – 30k do you think i should transfer to other country before i lost my chance ether that my case is current for interview now ?
January 6, 2026 at 16:07
Transferring is not easy – particularly as you are already current. So, unfortunately you just have to hope that they start taking cases.
January 6, 2026 at 03:50
Hello Mr. Simon,
I understand your prediction that the 2NLs for February would be delayed. I noticed that in my country, 2NLs were sent on 5 January.
I would like to clarify the usual process: are 2NLs typically sent only once per month, or can they be released in multiple batches? Currently, it appears that the 2NLs have reached approximately case number 4,500, while my case number is close to 6,000.
Could you advise if there is a possibility that additional 2NLs will be sent later this month?
January 6, 2026 at 05:12
Which country bro?
January 6, 2026 at 07:13
Cambodia
January 6, 2026 at 08:30
If your embassy has already taken February 2NLs, then it probably won’t get any more until after the next visa bulletin, which will be March interviews.
January 6, 2026 at 13:24
Actually, in our case (JRS Embassy), there were at least two batches in February. It surprised me too, so it is possible.
January 6, 2026 at 16:07
It’s “possible” – but I prefer to not build that expectation.
January 9, 2026 at 23:02
Hey Dver, are you from AS region?
January 10, 2026 at 04:18
Hi, Yes.
January 6, 2026 at 03:40
Here I see people from countries like Australia or the UK who are also part of the DV Lottery.
These are countries with very good living standards, among the best in the world, at least from my perspective.
I am from Albania, and naturally it is not a country with the same level of opportunities or quality of life, which is why I am looking for a better future in the United States.
What I don’t fully understand is why people from Australia apply, considering that they already live in what many would consider a “paradise,” at least according to my own view.
January 6, 2026 at 08:29
Every person has their own reasons. For example, I had a privileged and happy life in the UK, plenty of opportunity, safe, building wealth well. However, the weather in the UK sucked.
January 6, 2026 at 01:33
Hi Simon,
The Sydney consulate requested me to post my medical appointment confirmation among the other DV1 documents.
However, I live in Melbourne and I haven’t been able to schedule it yet as the U.S. visa team of the medical centre in Melbourne is not working.
If I wait until they are able to schedule my medical, it will be too close to the date I need to post my documents to Sydney by.
What do you think I should do?
I am leaning towards the first option but let me know if it could cause any issues:
-Schedule my medical in Sydney then change it to Melbourne once the medical centre is available. (In this case I will have a different medical appointment to the document I will post to the consulate)
OR
-Fly to Sydney for a day and get it done there
Thank you for your time and assistance.
January 6, 2026 at 08:26
You can decide the best choice for yourself…
January 6, 2026 at 01:21
Hi Simon
I have received an email from Sydney requesting me to post my documents to the consulate.
As a single applicant, would I only need to post the DV1 documents?
They also sent a form for DV2 and DV3 documents which I am not sure what they stand for but I assume they’re for dependents.
January 6, 2026 at 08:25
Follow their instructions – which should be clear. DV2 is the spouse, DV3 are derivatives.
January 5, 2026 at 23:45
Good day Sir Brit.I am a DV 26 selectee(2026AF20XX) from Zimbabwe but my country is on the ban list(partial) though I cannot really tell if I am also eligible on the partial part.My question is do you think I should consider attending the interview incase I get a 2NL?Hoping to hear from you soon.
January 6, 2026 at 08:23
The countries that are partially banned are FULLY banned for DV lottery – because DV lottery is an immigrant visa.
January 5, 2026 at 23:43
Hi, Simon. I am looking at the recent Xarthisius Chart for Europe, and the data is missing for all the cases higher than 26k. Any idea what that could be?
January 6, 2026 at 08:22
I’m not sure why you think that – the data is there.
January 10, 2026 at 06:32
There’s a bug. From multiple phone devices I tried the data is “missing” and on PC it is OK.
January 10, 2026 at 10:19
I saw the missing data last night on my phone and pinged Xarth who fixed something, but I don’t know the cause.
January 5, 2026 at 19:28
“Happy New Year Simon! Thank you for all your help. DV2026 AOS (AS9xxx). Interviewed Newark Dec 30. Officer said he has everything and needs NO more documents, but gave a ‘Decision cannot be made’ notice and told me to wait. Online status is still stuck at ‘Biometrics’ (Nov). Is this normal with the 2026 pause? Thanks!”
January 5, 2026 at 19:46
Yep – that is normal until the pause ends.
January 5, 2026 at 21:44
“Thanks, Simon! In your opinion, how long do you think this 2026 pause might last?
January 6, 2026 at 08:20
I’m hoping less than 60 days
January 5, 2026 at 15:15
I have just received my 2NL 🙂
So they’re still sending out 2NLs for February.
January 5, 2026 at 16:41
Cool – which embassy?
January 5, 2026 at 17:21
JRS
January 5, 2026 at 19:03
ahh yes – good.
January 5, 2026 at 13:59
hello Dear Simon
im dv selectee 2026AF30k ,i am now in a country that does not schedule appointement ,and i will move to LIBYA for work on 1st March ,so i will have a justification of residency there .
my question how long KCC gonna take to change my location for interview. AND i want to know where gonna be the interview in TUNISIA or ALGERIA (for libyen ).
thanks for your help dear Simon
January 5, 2026 at 16:42
I don’t know how things will work because you are already current. They may refuse to change your location.
January 6, 2026 at 06:20
could you please tell me where could be be the interview in TUNISIA or ALGERIA (for libyen )???????
January 6, 2026 at 08:31
I don’t know.
January 5, 2026 at 13:39
Hello, good morning Simon, I’m in South America, my case number is SA202639XX based on your experience and seeing the current pause, when the excitement of visas resumes, is there a possibility that in September I can get the interview? I’m currently in Argentina. Greetings
January 5, 2026 at 14:58
I would expect you to get an interview – but we will see…
January 5, 2026 at 16:21
Hi Simon
Pls do u think Dv winners from Cameroon should just seat and wait or maybe go to the embassy to know wat is happening .
My case if AF37*** haven’t receive my 2NL . Am worried.
January 5, 2026 at 16:43
If anyone can contact the embassy that would be helpful.
January 10, 2026 at 06:48
Maybe we (winners from Cameroon) should see what we can do? Maybe find a way to contact the embassy? Or anyone who lives in yde and close to the embassy can help inquire ? I am already worried 🥺
January 10, 2026 at 14:14
Maybe get together with some winners and find a local lawyer with contacts at the embassy to get some information.
January 5, 2026 at 11:24
I am a DV winner for Asia residing in Asia with case number 18000 plus and is current in visa bulletin. My daughter is currently in the US on valid F1 visa with graduation date of May 2028. Her F1 visa sticker is valid till August 6th, 2026 and she will not be able to enter the United States without a valid visa or green card if she were to leave the United States for interview after her visa expires. Do you suggest:
1. She files for form I-485 before receiving 2NL ? Is filling allowed for DV cases before receiving 2 NL? or
2. Wait to come with me for interview abroad? or
3. Renew her F1 visa coming abroad?
I am worried if she has to go abroad and her documents are not ready in time for her college or if it coincides with her exams.
please advice.
January 5, 2026 at 12:29
My advice would normally be that your daughter attends the CPO interview with you. However, if you want her to adjust status, I suggest you go to the link below and ask Sm1smom the best method/timing for filing etc.

January 5, 2026 at 09:14
Hello!
I wondered if you know (or know how to try find out) if consular processing interviews for DV-2026 are still continuing as normal in Sydney, Australia currently? My case number (7XX) is already current but I had been holding off submitting my DS-260 in case I need a new visa (E-3 non-immigrant visa) before I’m able to get the green card, as I really need to find a new job (I already live in the US but my preference is to do consular processing over AOS). I understand being in the green card process could jeopardize an E-3 visa application since that’s meant to be for temporary immigration. I’d like to get the green card process started but I’m concerned about putting a DS-260 on record at this stage for no reason if they have paused interviews in Sydney.
Thank you so much for any insight you can provide!
January 5, 2026 at 09:27
Interviews are continuing, but cases are being placed on a 221g hold at the end of the interview. We don’t know how long the pause will last, but I suspect it won’t be very long.
January 5, 2026 at 07:45
Hi Simon, I checked my DV-2026 case using CEAC data and it shows about 15,927 people (around 7,115 cases) ahead of me.
In your opinion, how reliable is this data, and with these numbers, do you think there is still a realistic chance for an interview?
January 5, 2026 at 08:14
It doesn’t help to give me cases in front of you without mentioning your case number (range). Right now I have no idea what region you are in – so it is a waste of time.
The data has been precise in previous years. However, they made a change this year that means we have lost some of the cases. I wrote about it in a recent article – so read that.
January 5, 2026 at 06:11
This just in from a Reddit user:
“The program is slated to be canceled entirely. It will not be unsuspended. The people who handle that program have all been assigned to other units within Customs and Immigration. I know this because I still have friends at customs from when I worked in the beltway myself.”
Thoughts on this?
January 5, 2026 at 07:26
It’s idiotic. Are you going to copy and paste every dopey message you read here?
January 5, 2026 at 04:15
Hi Simon
We were selected in the Diversity Visa lottery (DV-2026). I have an issue concerning one item on the DS-260 form — I would appreciate your assistance. Below I briefly set out the facts and list my questions.
Brief facts
• Principal applicant: my wife (DV selectee); I am the derivative spouse; we have a child together (born Aug 2025).
• I lived in the Republic of Korea approximately from 17 Aug 2022 to 25 Sep 2024; the first year I was lawfully present (status G-1-4, applied for asylum), the second year I overstayed.
• In Sep 2024 I completed a voluntary departure / Order of Departure (immigration stamp 68-1) and departed on my purchased ticket on 25 Sep 2024. I possess: voluntary departure confirmation/form, entry/exit certificate (출입국 사실증명), boarding pass, ARC, and a Korean police certificate with apostille.
Questions (please answer item by item):
1. From a legal perspective, does an Order of Departure (stamp 68-1) in Korea constitute “removed/deported” for the purposes of the DS-260 and potential inadmissibility to the United States? What are the risks and benefits of the two possible approaches: (a) correct the DS-260 to “Yes + brief explanation,” or (b) leave the DS-260 as submitted and disclose the fact at the interview?
2. Which documents and exact wording would you recommend preparing and presenting first (the Korea-packet) to minimize the chance of a Washington referral and to expedite adjudication?
3. Should I request KCC to unlock my DS-260 now to correct the removal question — and if yes, how should that KCC request be worded? If not, what are the practical risks of delaying correction (i.e., waiting to disclose/correct only at the interview)?
4. If my case is placed in administrative processing and later requires a waiver (e.g., I-601), what are realistic chances of success given my documentation (voluntary departure confirmation, clean police certificates, principal spouse and child, no criminal record)? Please estimate likely timeframes and probability ranges.
Thank you in advance for concrete recommendations and for your assistance.
January 5, 2026 at 07:29
You are asking questions that should be discussed with an immigration lawyer.
January 4, 2026 at 17:31
Dear Sir,
I’m seriously considering reassigning my post to RDJ. From what I’ve seen it has been a quiet and efficient embassy over the years. However, CEAC data shows that in May and June 2022 the embassy had received a major influx of EU cases, more than 260 in two months. Any idea on what countries of chargeability these people were from? And is there any reason for me to be concerned about the same thing happening again and affecting my chances of securing an interview since they have implemented the residency requirement?
Thanks.
January 4, 2026 at 18:00
I don’t know for sure where they came from. Given the new rules on residency, an influx is unlikely to happen this year.
January 4, 2026 at 13:01
“President Trump yesterday ordered a special force to kidnap the Venezuelan president. Even though the Venezuelan president is a dictator, President Trump has no right to do that; he has violated international law. No president of a country has the right to go and arrest the president of another country just because he does not want to hand over its wealth to him. Trump does not recognize the law; he could wake up one morning and say that the 2027 U.S. diversity visa lottery will be canceled simply because he does not want to see an immigrant from Africa, Asia, or South Africa in America.”
January 4, 2026 at 14:40
Good grief. These things are not connected.
January 4, 2026 at 07:53
Hi Simon, I am from Morocco. is it ok if i Email the US consulate here in Casablanca conserning the delay of interviews? what do you thi,k about this delay, could i email kcc to transfer my case to other embassy base of the performance of Casablanca consulate? thank you in advace.
January 4, 2026 at 08:47
You can send those emails, but the CSB embassy doesn’t know anything about you until you are scheduled, and KCC are implementing a policy that requires people to interview where they live.
January 4, 2026 at 07:17
I understand that it’s not really possible to know for sure what the Visa Bulletin number will be for March for Europe, but I’d still love to hear your personal opinion or best guess based on your experience.
January 4, 2026 at 08:45
No guess from me.
January 4, 2026 at 22:09
Hi, Simon! I hope you are well and doing great. I am from Nepal and case number is 93** is that any chance to get schedule for a interview in upcoming months and is there any chance to increase in case for Nepal during the pause even the Asia status is current.
January 5, 2026 at 07:27
Yes there is a chance – so now wait and see.
January 6, 2026 at 06:48
Hello, Simon! Will they increase the case number for Nepal in upcoming Visa bulletin..??
January 6, 2026 at 08:31
Probably.
January 4, 2026 at 04:20
Dear Simon, When I check the cases before me on 2026 DV charts, it says there are approx 10900 cases before me. When ı compare my case (EU24xxx) also in 2025 charts it says 13600 cases before and 13630 case before final cutoff EU23000. I know there are lots of other factors this year but ı am trying to calculate my case status. Am I consider my case safe in terms of math and Is there anything that I need to check ?
January 4, 2026 at 08:44
For the math you are probably safe – for all the other factors – that remains to be seen.
January 4, 2026 at 01:56
Hi Simon,
Our number is AF30xxx but we have not received our 2NL for our interview in Doha. We were asked for proof of residency back in November which we provided. We followed up at the beginning of December and was told that our DS-260’s were complete and valid.
Do we send another follow-up/query as to why it has not been transferred to the consulate or simply wait to see if we receive a 2NL after the next visa bulletin is issued.
Thanks in advance
January 4, 2026 at 08:43
Doha are taking cases, but there is some backlog. You have to remain patient.
January 4, 2026 at 22:47
Thank you, Simon.
January 3, 2026 at 21:48
Hi Simmon
Happy New Year!
Just a question , are 2nls usually sent during the second half of the month (towards the month) or also during during first half?
Also is case number OC116X considered safe ?
Thanks!
January 3, 2026 at 22:19
Normally in the second half of the month – exactly as I describe every month in my VB release articles.
“Is it Safe” is a question about whether a case number is safe to go current or not. OC116X is already current – so it is a silly question.
January 4, 2026 at 07:51
Hi Shriti,
I’m Nit, Fiji citizen living abroad. My CN is 111*. Your case number is already current for next month. Waiting on 2NL as well. Only about random three cases below the cut off show “in transit “ on Xarthisius CEAC analysis. Good luck 😉

January 3, 2026 at 21:38

You will have to wait and see….

Hello Simon! I want to know if you think SA2200 could be current in March? Also, in the current situation, if I file AOS, would I be in “pending status”? I’m graduating in May.

It could be current in March – we have to wait and see.
For AOS questions ask Mom.

Hi Simon,
I trying to work out the formula that you use to indicate/predict “safe case numbers”. Am I on the right track with the following calc: total case numbers – holes % – refusal % x 2 family members? The 2 is based on an assumption that OC has smaller families and more singles or married without children may take advantage of this program.
If we use OC region as the example 3300 – 54% = 1518 – 5% = 1442 x 2 = 2884?
I believe Tonga is on the banned list for OC as for now this is not a factor in the above calculation, because at this stage there is no guarantee they will redistribution/recirculate banned countries visas.
Many thanks Renee

Well we have the exact number of real cases after holes (1568), so no need to do that math. And we also know the exact number of selectees (3178). So we can use 2.03 as the people per case.
Then we consider the quota (850) and decide how many cases would be needed to yield that number of approvals.
You can take into account the non responses, the no show rate and the denial rate and get a pretty precise math calculation. Write that down on a piece of paper and light it with a match. Because it won’t really matter as much as the travel ban impact, the pause, embassy and KCC performance and so on.

Hi Brit,
My case number is EU15,00x. Based on what we’ve seen so far with the Visa Bulletin progression for DV-2026 Europe, do you think this number could realistically become current in March?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Yes

Hi Simon,
I’m trying to better understand what “on hold” means in the policy that was published.
Does the current pause on AOS cases still allow I-485 filings for DV to be processed (including intake/initial review) and biometrics to proceed?
Also, if someone files for adjustment of status in January or February, will USCIS still schedule interviews even if final approval/issuance is on hold due to the pause?
Thanks!

Yes people can file, they can continue to process the cases, but they won’t issue the visas. The “hold” strategy is described in the memo.

Hello. I am from Europe, more precisely from Romania, and I have a situation…my wife was selected with a case number 2026EU290XX. I would like to know after the publication of the data if there are any chances for an interview. Another situation is the following: she is on parental leave until April 2027, she is employed but the employment contract for this period is suspended. In DS 260 I listed her as an employee. Should it have been listed differently? Thank you

Your number is not in a “safe” range of course – you will just have to wait and see.
The employment status is fine.

Hi Simon, this is Marz* here (2026AF46k), just a quick one here, I recently checked my case number in ceac website, but how comes that my derivatives weren’t shown? is it because am not yet current and not processed yet?
January 3, 2026 at 09:41
Yes correct – you would only see that once the case is sent to the embassy.

Hello Brit,
I’ve just checked my position on the CEAC website regarding the number of cases for DV 2026 Europe. The site shows that there are about 13,000 cases ahead of me. Does this include the “holes,” those who haven’t submitted their DS‑260, and those who have already started their interview process?
Thanks a lot.
January 3, 2026 at 06:06
Just to clarify, CEAC only shows the “pending cases” info once a case number becomes current. That’s why you see that figure of around 13,000. This number also includes “holes” — cases where DS‑260 hasn’t been submitted or the interview is already done.
January 3, 2026 at 09:45
Jonathan – that clarification added confusion. Your understanding is incorrect.
Holes are cases that were disqualified before the draw announcement.
We now have “dark holes” because of the new fields added to CEAC.
January 3, 2026 at 09:40
You misunderstand “holes”. Holes are case numbers that don’t have cases – not those who haven’t submitted their DS260.
The case estimate is real cases – i.e. not including holes.

System is saying in valid when I put passport number or NA, even if I use derivative details. What can be the reason for this?
January 3, 2026 at 15:23
I don’t know.
January 3, 2026 at 01:07
Hi Simon
Is there still hope for those with successful interviews awaiting the visa document.
January 3, 2026 at 09:19
Yes
