It has occurred to me that some may not realize my site can be easily translated into a number of languages. If you look at the screenshot below you can see the translate button in the lower right hand corner. Click on that and then the flag if one appears. At the top of the page a Google translate dialog appears and you can click the arrow to reveal a number of languages that can be used for the site – thanks to Google Translate.
It may not be a perfect translation of course – but it may help – and you can switch between that and English.
Now remember – when you ask me questions – please ask in English.

Depends on your timing. You can unlock and update your form if you have time before your interview. You can also update this in the interview itself.

Hello Sir,
despite having a visa number, the name of my newly married spouse is not in the second letter. Could she still come to the interview without invitation?
In the second letter, we have this information , “If all documents are listed below as incomplete , please submit the documents completed at the time of the interview. ”
Regards

Some embassies won’t let anyone in who is not “expected” at the interview. So – check with your embassy whether they will admit your spouse or not.

Hello Brit,
I sincerely thank You for all you!! I can’t imagine how ignorant I was on AOS issues yet I thought I knew what I was doing all along. I’ve learnt so much in a space of two weeks that I’ve been here.
Please, let me know your thoughts about this: My OPT expires in two weeks, meaning I won’t work till a decision is made on my AOS current in current in August. My employer is in panic mode because at moment they don’t have someone to replace me for the mean time. They keep asking me if there’s anything they can do on their part to expedite my case. We are clueless on how to help. They have been thinking about writing a cover letter so I can put together with my package. Do you think this should be done, and if so, to whom can such a letter be addressed?
Sorry for bothering you all the time. You are such an amazing resource person.
Thanks again for all you do!!

You should check with Sm1smom. Perhaps applying for an EAD would be possible – but you are likely to wait longer for that than the DV approval. If you are current in August there is nothing to be done to get approved faster than August 1

Hi Brit, so we are going to have the full list nd last visa bulletin in July….my question is…up to now am made to believe there are selectees who won the green card with lower case numbers but they have never submitted DS260, the KCC was still waiting for their submissions, so does that mean by July if they havent requested for the visa interview they will be assumed not intrested by KCC and their slots given to other selectess….advice on this coz data shows so many havent submitted and i assume thats a plus to guys with higher cases who submitted their DS260 early…
Another Question is How many AF cases are there between the current 42k and 89k?
And finaly if KCC do their math and realize that the AF cases are undersubscribed or not issued to capacity in time can they hopefully have a hump of like 30k or up to 75kAF?
Pls advice in detail

There are always lots of people who don’t apply. That is why more selectees are chosen than the number of visas for them. However, that isn’t a big surprise – that is already built in to the numbers each month. So – if KCC decide they want 1800 interviews for example – they might move the VB up by 3600 cases which allows for half of those cases being non responses.
Check the full file (Jan 1 or May 25) for the number of cases between 42 and 89. It is FAR too many. Some data is explained here: https://britsimonsays.com/am-i-safe/
Check the link above. I don’t believe we can see 75000.

Hello Simon
I wanted to ask you a question about something that Ive done on my DS 260 Im curent in africa for august I guess its too late to change it but here are the things Im worried about;
1- I did mention that I studied in a univeristy for 2 year I got a leavining certificate but the right translation is ” DEPARTURE certificate”
2- that I got a bachelor degree screwd up the translation again instead of wrinting entreprenership and projects management I said Business and projects Management on the DS 260
3- my actual job Ive said am a logistic manager // the tanslater said im actually a supply chain manager
4- I did not mention that I do have a high school certificate because I got higher degree univeristy
I think that Iwas drunk filling my DS 260 lol do I need to worry dude ? as far that I remember the interview date I can bring my original docs and the translations in order to fix my DS260
June 13, 2015 at 16:36
Well the errors you mention may combine in a COs mind to make him/her believe you are lying. However, it is too late to fix it now, so you need to prepare well and make sure you are clear about the facts.

Who planning to travel to usa should learn English not translate to ur native language right Mr Simon?
June 12, 2015 at 23:23
Yes agreed – but sometimes “technical issues” are best understood in native tongue.
