This is the month end file.
Let me first say – I believe the issued numbers for this file are still understated due to the system issues. The issues have been resolved, but it is possible that embassies have not updated the case status reliably. You can note that particularly AF region has a small increase from last month AND a high number of “in Transit” cases. The latter is a certain sign of “slow/lazy” updates by the embassies – and I think that could have been the case on issued cases also. Nevertheless we can see there has been quite a number of visas issued this month globally which was mainly in EU and AS regions (which may also be underreported).
This data is what KCC will be looking at when the decide how many interviews to schedule in the last month. Let us hope they aren’t too conservative in their estimates. We should see the final VB in less than 2 weeks from now.
Just while I am writing, the 2NLs for August have not come out yet. They may be affected by the technical issues, and they have also set significantly more interviews than usual. So – hopefully people will see the actual 2NL very soon.

Hello Sir, My friend requested me to ask the following questions for him, he doesn’t have internet access Dv 2016 Af12xxx and he hasn’t submitted ds260. He is the principal applicant and he included his wife and son in the initial application.
1. He has 4yr old child. On initial application he listed only two names for his child. First name and second name. Child’s passport only has two names but birth certificate 3 names.
2. He wants to attend the interview only him and his wife cause of the costs involved. He wants to leave his son with his mother who will take care of him and maybe after one year his son joins him. So on the ds260 , question that asks will this applicant be accompanying you to the U.s, he wants to answer no. So he wants to know while attending interview will it be okay if his son doesn’t appear. And after he goes after a year he can apply for him.

1. No issue. Match the birth cert on the DS260 for the child.
2. That is a very silly thing to do. The costs of sponsoring the child later will be MUCH higher and the process could take 2 years.

Generally yes. If the new VB number is 44250 – I extract to that number to show the number of cases, response rate for that new range and in Transits.

That is normal. Check your CEAC status to see if the additional derivative is noted – and if not contact the embassy to be sure they expect the additional derivative.

There is no formal deadline – just a practical one that the DS260 takes time to process before an interview can be scheduled. Sometime in May was therefore probably the practical deadline.

I later submitted my form as single but now i have unlock my DS_260 form and change my status as married coz in just got married on the 28 of july. Please i wish to know
1-me changing my status from single to married wouldn’t it affect me from haring my visa.?
2-can i say that my husband will not accompany me so that it will give me changes of getting my visa? Since i have not yet resummited the form.
3-or is there a way for me to cancel the status back to single.? Coz i have already fill his name and his date of birth. Please Simon i need ur help on what to do i really dont want to miss my chances of getting a visa. Thanks for your reply.

Yes you can say your husband won’t go with you, but that obviously will raise suspicion about your marriage.
