The government have announced that the document procedure, which required applicants to submit documents to KCC prior to being eligible for interview, has now been removed from the process. Whilst this had been my assumption, it is good to see the official confirmation.
In the announcement the government admit that the procedure was causing delays to scheduling, especially in the early months of the program, just as it did when it was introduced in 2018 until it was removed in December 2021.
So – the government have made a wise choice in this case, and hopefully they can benefit from using their resources to quickly process DS260s and schedule more interviews for each year.

OC15XX 2024, travel.state site states birth cert MUST list both parents. my father section of birth cert has been left blank will this cancel me out? anything i can do e.g. statutory dec to prevent this technicality

No your understanding is incorrect. The birth cert should be the “long form” cert, which has space for both parents but it is not a rule to have both parents.

Hi Simon am AF2024 DV Winner i have 3 kids with firstborn 14 yrs old but i officiated my marriage after Dv winners results. My marriage certificate indicate we got married june 2023.will this certificate be assumed fraud?

It’s hard for me to say, not knowing your country or procedures in your country.
If you entered as married, then you should have had reason to claim you were married (like traditional marriage or similar). Depending on the laws in your country, that type of marriage may have been given legal status. You would know better than I can.

Hi Brit Simon, was the document procedure scrapped for DV2023 or were applicants required to submit?

Scrapped for all of DV2023 and now for DV2024 also.

Hi Simon!
Correct me if I’m wrong but wouldn’t this be a trade-off scenario where more interviews can be processed but then more time is needed after that to verify/process certain people from those interviews since they now would potentially ask for those documents after the interview rather than before
June 1, 2023 at 08:35
Yes – that can be the case. But the documents procedure requires the government to process documents for as many people that send them in (about 105K in DV2022 out of 119K selected). That meant a delay in getting to any volume of interviews. Without the documents they only need to review a percentage of the cases – many people have their cases cleared directly at interview, and only some require additional processing. The situation we now have is how DV2023 has been run, and it has been better, just as it was before the document procedure – which was DV2018 and before.
