Hi, Brit,
Can you say please something about websites that helps in fullfilling papers? Does it worth to pay for filling papers? how to define frauds?
September 14, 2017 at 09:04
It’s not worth it. You can do it yourself. It is pretty much self explanatory and there are lots of explanations on how to do it. It’s easy and safer to do it yourself.
September 14, 2017 at 13:12
It is idiotic to pay for a service that is no easier than the official free site AND increases your risk of problems. Just be patient and use the free site.

Not sure if these questions are relevant to this forum, but here it goes:

September 19, 2017 at 16:09
I have completed a 12year education, I also hold a university Certificate, a BA, and an MA, all from British Universities. A few years ago, I started a PhD course which I haven’t completed due to financial reasons, I attended 1.5 yrs. On the application do I click on “other PhD courses” or the “postgraduate course” option? Thank you.
September 19, 2017 at 16:36
It doesn’t matter. Your Green Card doesn’t come with extra benefits for being over qualified. Just pick something and move on.
September 19, 2017 at 17:11
Oh, gosh, I know that! Equality at its best. The problem of a false statement on application concerns me, that’s why I’m asking. Thank you!

Yo yo Brit Simon.
RE: “The Department of State uses sophisticated technology to detect multiple entries.”

no spouse and kids*
September 20, 2017 at 00:10
I edited your question to avoid giving people an idea to do something silly.
I don’t know all their technology – but I can tell you that they disqualify MANY cases each year. Nearly 25% of AF case numbers are “holes” because of cases disqualified before the May announcement.
September 20, 2017 at 05:59
No, we don’t know all of their technologies, but we also don’t know if the (rough) 25% of those holes which are DQ’d are in fact DQ’d because this sophisticated technology outsmarted people who tried to do what I outlined in the post you edited/censored.
Those holes you mentioned could be mere idiots who just submitted the multiple entries with more or less the exact same details. It doesn’t take sophisticated tech to pick up on that.
This is clearly a sensitive issue with implications on personal liberties. If you’re not comfortable to talk about it here, I understand, I’d be happy to email you. Got e-mail? Alternatively, you can reply to me via the email I’m using to post this comment.
September 20, 2017 at 13:33
I’m not sure I understand your interest in the subject. But if there is something you need to discuss you can email britsimon3 at gmail.
September 20, 2017 at 06:17
it means that those who register on single are more likely than families with children
September 20, 2017 at 13:28
No, that is idiotic. It is a random draw.
September 20, 2017 at 08:41
Hi Simon,
My parents are separated (without any official documents). Can either enter the lottery as a single person or they should include one another as spouse?
Thank you
September 20, 2017 at 13:26
Married.
September 21, 2017 at 14:18
Hi Simon
1. Am i qualified to apply from my country of naturalization? As my country of birth is not eligible.
2. Is there an alternative European Visa lottery instructions at the bottom of the form.
September 21, 2017 at 14:44
1. No. You are only eligible through country of birth and a couple of small exceptions. https://britsimonsays.com/eligibility-to-enter-the-dv-lottery-country-of-eligibilitychargeability/
2. I don’t know what you mean.
September 22, 2017 at 12:25
Hi Brits,
I have a Diploma in Computer Network Engineering with some short professional certificates furthermore with over eight years of experience.
Under the level of education, which would you advice i choose?
September 22, 2017 at 13:55
It doesn’t matter what you “choose”, but you must prove your high school education.
September 22, 2017 at 16:11
What if you have high school diploma but you could not gain admission to a college?
September 22, 2017 at 16:31
If you could not gain college admission because your grades were not high enough, that might be a problem – each embassy specified their own required level.
September 22, 2017 at 16:57
Many thank Brits,so what in place of your high school diploma you alternatively use your working experience as an IT officer(Systems Administrator) with more than 2 years in place?

I am a 2018 winner but I applied as single and married in December, can I include my wife in the DS260 and later file to come for her ?
September 23, 2017 at 14:32
And what are my chances of getting visa in 100% probability?
September 23, 2017 at 14:45
I don’t know anything about you/your case.
September 23, 2017 at 14:44
You can include her yes.
September 24, 2017 at 21:00
Hi Simon,
I am Egyptian from Egyptian parents I was born in Libya but never lived there I understand the Libyan nationalities are banned or set to be banned to enter the US is that mean I am not eligible to apply for the DV2019 or can I claim the entry to be based on Egyptian nationally ?
Thanks we appreciate your time you are really helpful
September 25, 2017 at 04:44
The new ban terms are not clear yet. Wait until things are more clear
September 26, 2017 at 00:04
Does early application gain the chance of winner the lottery
September 26, 2017 at 00:08
No. It is RANDOM.
September 26, 2017 at 12:42
Hi Simon,
I work as an editor in the film industry (~10 years experience) which the ONET website lists it as a job zone 3, SVP 6 to <7 occupation.
The website has another entry for 'editors', which also includes video editing, listed as a job zone 4, SVP 7 to <8 occupation.
Would I be able to submit an entry using the latter job title?
Thanks
September 26, 2017 at 12:50
First – anyone can submit an entry – qualified or not.
But assuming you are asking the question about what happens when you are selected and go for interview. Only if the second role has a substantial alignment to what you do – and you can prove that.
The easier way to meet the requirement is education. If you have an education of US High School level, then you don’t need to meet the work experience requirement.
September 27, 2017 at 08:21
Brilliant, thanks for the hint
September 26, 2017 at 13:43
hi Brit I want to know if I take a new photo at the dv time will I be disqualified because I don’t understand a picture should be used within 6month time
September 26, 2017 at 13:53
The instructions say to use a recent photo of less than 6 months old. So – for the DV2019 entry – take a new photo.
September 26, 2017 at 15:50
thankYou so Much
October 3, 2017 at 17:29

October 3, 2017 at 19:10
Hi Mr Brit am dv2018 winner but I want to apply for this year lottery 2019 my question:
1.do I need to upload pictures of all derivatives
2. If yes to the above question I will like to take a digital photos of all my family and do all the necessary requirements of the photos and use my smart phone and apply will this be possible or doing so will result to disqualification
October 3, 2017 at 19:25
Again you are drifting back in to your habit of asking me trivial questions without reading the FAQ or using common sense.
October 3, 2017 at 19:14

Can i put my country of the chargeability my current xountry where I live?
My country of birth jordan
And nationality jordan
And currently I live in United arab of emirates
??
October 3, 2017 at 19:31
Hey Brit. Why do few persons from Guyana get selected each year? Is this because of the number of immigrants from our country that is already in U.S? What is the ratio for persons from Guyana to become selected for dv2019? Thanks in anticipation of your reply…
October 3, 2017 at 19:43
If very few people enter, few get selected. No mystery
October 3, 2017 at 19:46
Thanks much…
October 3, 2017 at 19:35
I really want to do everything by myself without any stupid agent assistant
An agent just came to my house asking for my details to register me but I told him am going to do it myself and I don’t need his assistance
To all my fellow Ghanaians let’s ignore this agent indeed the are killing us
October 3, 2017 at 19:40
Thank you
October 3, 2017 at 19:41
25 million people will enter this year. It is very easy.
October 3, 2017 at 19:39
Another question Brit. I started filling application for dv2019 and closed the form while I was half way through because I was using windows 7 and was encountering difficulties. Photograph was already uploaded. I restarted a new application and received confirmation number. Am I now at risk of becoming disqualified for making two attempts at dv2019? BTW, first attempt was abandoned abruptly.
October 3, 2017 at 22:48
No problem.
October 3, 2017 at 19:40
Dear Brit,
Both of my children were above 21. So how do i answer for the question regarding number of children? Is it okay to say ‘0’ ?
October 3, 2017 at 19:52
Dear Sir,
Can i put my country of the chargeability my current xountry where I live?
My country of birth jordan
And nationality jordan
And currently I live in United arab of emirates
??
October 3, 2017 at 22:24
NO!
Jordan.
October 4, 2017 at 02:50
I did it last year and I won 2018, is this mean I will be refused at time if the interview?
October 4, 2017 at 04:15
No, because both countries are in the same region.
October 4, 2017 at 06:07
So, this mean no issue if I put the changeability country UAE, since Jordan an UAE in same regionAsia
October 3, 2017 at 20:15
Brit, I don’t understand when u say 25 million people will enter this year. Do you insinuate that if I enter later this month end, I will be dismissed?
October 3, 2017 at 22:19
No it doesn’t mean that at all. Out of the 25 million people, around 100k will be chosen at randome WHENEVER they entered the lottery within the month.
October 3, 2017 at 20:54
Is there any age bar for DV lottery my sis she is omly 16 can she fill the form
Thank you
October 3, 2017 at 22:16
There is no technical age bar BUT the person selected must have passed high school (able to enter a University) by the time of the interview. Since the proces is slow, she could enter now as long as has met that requirement later.
October 4, 2017 at 03:21
Dear Brit,
Both of my children were above 21. So how do i answer for the question regarding number of children? Is it okay to say ‘0’ ?
October 4, 2017 at 04:17
Yes
