January 16, 2020 at 10:17
Hello Simon thanks for the work you are doing. I have two worries; firstly, I submitted my documents without including the case number in the naming but the case number was used as the subject. Can this be a problem?? Secondly, my passport expires on February 2021 and my case number is 36k. When approximately can I be call for interview and can my passport be a problem?? Thanks
January 16, 2020 at 14:50
Ask KCC if they are satisfied with your documents.
Your number without a region is useless.
You can renew the passport if you want.
January 16, 2020 at 16:06
Hello sir. Thanks for your prompt reply. The cn is 2020af36k. Thnks
January 19, 2020 at 01:43
Thanks Simon for everything you do, I wanted to ask you my number is 2020SA37xx according to your experiences approximately for what month would this number be available? in March the 1300 goes (2020SA1300)
January 19, 2020 at 17:39
You will have to wait and see. At this point it is clear that there is some risk for that number, so its not about WHEN, the question is IF.
January 19, 2020 at 22:24
i want to first start by thanking you for you for all your time and all the answers of the questions we have be asking you. please my Case 2020AF0002948XX when can i be call for interview and to submitted my document ..as i have not have any email about submitted of document..WHILE

I CONTACT KCC This was the that was send to me ,Thank you for your inquiry.
Your forms have been received and are currently processing. Allow several weeks for processing. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Once the Kentucky Consular Center has finished processing your DS-260, you will receive an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing.
Collect and submit your documents promptly. Your case will not be scheduled for a visa interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate until KCC has received and processed all required documents. Missing or illegible documents will delay processing of your case. If you cannot obtain a particular document, send a scanned or photographed explanation in of why you cannot obtain the document, as an attachment in .jpeg or .pdf format, to [email protected], with your case number in the subject line. Diversity visas are numerically limited and there is no guarantee a visa will be available. Only a consular officer can determine, at the time of the visa interview, if you are qualified to receive a Diversity Visa.
In order to continue processing your case, all documents should be submitted as attachments to your email to ensure they are properly received. We ask that you use the following method to name and attach your files:

Hi simon, I got selected for the Dv2020 lottery. I got an email to send off my documents and I have sent off my DS 260 but I have not received an email scheduling for an interview? Does this mean I don’t qualify for an interview or do I have to wait because there is a long waiting list?
I just wanted to know if I will definitely get an interview.
Thanks
April 22, 2020 at 02:44
There is a pandemic going on which has affected processing and closed embassies. So – there is risk to cases.

Hello Simon, thank you for the help taht you’re offering. I’m here to ask you since most of the regions in the latest visa bulletin went CURRENT. I did receive an email saying that all my documents are accepted and I just need to wait for the interview. But my question now is will I receive the interview information on my email or should I fill some form? Since my case number is current I’m kinda confused!
Thank you

Hello dear Brit!
I am winner of DV2020.
Kindly, can I ask you,
My case number 2020EU…..30***
I applied to have an interview in Moscow (EU), but in fact am living in Dubai (Asia region)
Is it possible to change interview Embassy from Moscow to Abu Dhabi, because most probably they will start interviews earlier than in Moscow?
All the best!
Thank you!
May 29, 2020 at 20:50
Regardless of what you selected, if your address is correctly listed in Dubai, that is where they will schedule you.
June 6, 2020 at 08:34
Thank You for your response!
Dear Brit!
Now I am confused, how it works and how I will be scheduled
if the current processing number in Europe (EU) is 30,000 and in Asia (AE) is only 18,450? Is it means that I have less chances to be scheduled?
My case number 2020EU30*** (European region), applied to Moscow, leaving in Dubai (Asia region).
Best regards,
and Thank you for your Help!
June 6, 2020 at 10:45
You go according to the EU region, regardless of living in Asia.
June 7, 2020 at 07:35
Thank you a lot, Mr.Brit!
Is it means that I need to resend to KCC SCAN DOCUMENTS TRANSLATED to English, because at first I sent original versions (in Russian, coz I thought I will be scheduled in Moscow) and they already approved that I submitted all required docs and ready to be scheduled?
Best regards!
June 7, 2020 at 14:05
Yes I would send the complete package again with translations.
June 8, 2020 at 19:51
Thank you, Mr.Brit!
June 8, 2020 at 22:50

Hi Simmon
My number is AS18xxx
Could you please let me know whether it is a high number and how likely will I be called for a interview?
Thanks a lot
June 11, 2020 at 01:43
It’s medium. But we don’t know enough yet to make any assumptions. Wait for a month or two when we hope to know more.
June 12, 2020 at 07:05
hi Brit my case number is 110XX IN DV 2021 , is it safe ?
June 12, 2020 at 11:18
1. Without a region your number is meaningless.
2. Please read the answer you replied to. Try and be respectful of my time.
June 11, 2020 at 22:05

Hello brits,
Have a good time.am not selected for dv lottery 2021. But they force to every entrants keep their confirmation number at least sep 2021.what means that.
June 12, 2020 at 21:13
They don’t “force” anyone. But in some years a small number of additional winners are selected, so check once more in November.
June 15, 2020 at 03:42
Hello.
My friend wants my address to send her green card to, since she doesn’t know anyone else here.
Could someone do something…nefarious with some of my information, like address, age, full name, et cetera?
I doubt she will do anything but I still I wonder. I worry it could be made to look like I filled out and signed a document that put me on the hook for financial support and/or a place to stay — these are just examples.
So, is what I’m doing safe?
Thank you for your time — you’re an angel helping so many people!
June 15, 2020 at 03:54
It’s just an address to receive one piece of mail. Your name and address is public info – so you have no risk. On the other hand – she is trusting you with her Green Card. That’s a big deal.
June 17, 2020 at 17:26
Hi everyone, is it hypothetically possible to switch already submitted DS260 from AOS to CP? Thank you.
June 17, 2020 at 19:08
Yes
June 19, 2020 at 12:59
Hello, Am nassif from Uganda was selected for DV 2021, in jan 2020 i changed my passport since by low in our country they were freezing out all the passports and every citizen is required by law to have an electronic passport , which i did , so can i use the all passport number while filling in the DS 260 form or the old passport number i used while applying? Thanks.
June 19, 2020 at 14:34
You will have to use the new passport number but provide old and new with documents and to the interview.
June 19, 2020 at 15:56
Hello simon… my son already crossed 21 while filling Dv entrant form and so I didnt mentioned him there….I’ve already submitted Ds-260 form without entering his information as he already crossed 21 … what should I do in this case? What should I reply if they ask me during interiveew? Thanks
June 19, 2020 at 19:50
You should list him on your ds260 just in case you ever want to sponsor him later.
June 20, 2020 at 04:21
No, he dont want to come to US…. he’ll be married soon…. Does it lead to the disqualification? Though I’ve mentioned my next child who is 19….. Please reply …Iam too confused
June 20, 2020 at 05:20
Did I say anything about disqualification?
June 23, 2020 at 07:05
Hello Simon,
My name is Aziz.
Before I have been chosen I indicated district within a city , where I live, not in address cell, but in State/region cell. Is it possible to change it by inputting the district into address cell and removing it from State/region cell during DS-260 application? Truely said, it makes me worry. Thanks for reply.
June 23, 2020 at 13:29
Yes
June 23, 2020 at 16:26
Thanks!. One more question, is it allowed to make changes to address during ds-260 application, if it had been inputted wrong?
June 21, 2020 at 22:56
Dear sir
i m filing the ds260 for me and my child’s i fond that is one letter missing from my name on their passport
my name is mohammed with double m but in their passport is mohamed with one m
so my question is
1- dose this different effect, if not i will apply by my name double m
2- and if yes i need to change their passport, as it will take long time dose i apply now and then on the interview provide the new one
M.M
June 22, 2020 at 17:20
Well the passport should have the correct legal name. Whether you should change that or not depends on how long you have to wait.
June 23, 2020 at 00:13

June 24, 2020 at 19:19
Hello,
I am currently in US under H1b and I was selected in the DV-2021 lottery. Do I have to file both DS-230 and I-485 in order to do the adjustment of status? Also, in order to submit the DS-230 or I-485 do I have to wait for my case to be current or I can file them now?
THANK you a lot in advance for your help
June 24, 2020 at 20:16
The DS230 has been replaced by the DS260. Strictly speaking it is not needed for an AOS case, but is still useful However, learn what you are doing before filing anything.
Great info here:

Hi Simone, i am currently unemployed but have university and 10 years of management experience. How should i put my Primary ocupation? As unemployed or homemaker? I am looking for a new job currently! Does this disqualified me?
July 2, 2020 at 23:40
Unemployed.
No problem.
July 3, 2020 at 19:14
Hi there, I have been working with 1 institution but have had several positions (around 8). Shall I include all of them or write down only the last one? And the date should be put according to the time with the institution not for each job position?
July 3, 2020 at 20:32
Just the whole time and the last position.
July 7, 2020 at 19:01
Dear BritSimon ,
I am one of random selectee for Fiscal year 2021 My case number is like 2021AF00067XXX. Right now I am in US. previously I filled DS260. so is there any thing i expected to do other than waiting for an email about schedule of an interview ?
July 10, 2020 at 05:59
You need to read the lottery guide linked above. One thing you should decide is where to interview, in the USA or in your home country. There are different processes for each.
October 17, 2020 at 21:29
Hello BritSimon
My case number is AF64XXX and I had the same question. I looked through the DV lottery guide but didn’t find anything specific about the process involved in AOS. I would really appreciate a link to any resources you have on that since I’m not too sure what to do now even though I know my case number won’t be eligible for an interview for a few more months.

Can We activate our Visa in the US Virgin Island as it is reopened for tourism?
July 10, 2020 at 05:46
It is a port of entry, yes, but of course entry to the USA including USVI is still banned from the Schengen area.

Dear BritSimon I won the DV and my name was spelled wrongly on my passport which is different from my cirtificates. On my passport it is written Sanjela xxxx xxxx and on my cirtificate it is Samjela xxxx xxxx, is that a problem?

You need to be clear about what is the correct name. The passport name should be accurate. If it isn’t get it corrected.

With the current Executive Order in mind, would you say there’s a preferred way to DV lottery green card? AOS or CP? Thanks very much.
July 10, 2020 at 20:33
Well right now AOS obviously has the edge.

hello simon I am so confused I submitted my DS260 since May 2019 in October I received a message from Kcc which asked me to complete the document (among others: police certificate, photocopy of birth certificate and photocopy of my passport I made them I received another message telling me that I should receive a message in the next 3 or 6 weeks but since nothing more and it should be noted that my case is Af7011) will it be possible that I can be interview please explain me I’m very embarrassed
July 13, 2020 at 13:30
Oh no. You have left things very late and your case number was low. So – you should have followed up with them in late 2019, and there might have been a chance for an interview at that time.
However, since March embassies have been closed due to the pandemic and now there is also a ban by Trump. We are fighting the ban, but even if we win that we will need the embassies to reopen and time is running out. So, you may not get an interview.

Hello, if my case number is 190xx EUROPE… what are the chances to get an interview? I also asked you about education field on other post. Thank you so much!
July 14, 2020 at 18:53
That is a good number. Patience.

Hi Simone, I have been randomly selected for DV lottery2021 and my case number is AF27xxx. Let’s assume that the ban is lifted in January 2021, do you think I still have chances to be interviewed before the end of fiscal year 2021?
August 16, 2020 at 13:31
Yes
July 14, 2020 at 12:44

July 14, 2020 at 19:10
You don’t need the police cert to complete the DS260. You will need them later. No, you are not late.
July 15, 2020 at 09:36
hello simon i hope you are fine please i come back again in relation to my case my number was rather 2020AF70011 are what you thought that i could have a chance after the lifting of the restrictions decreed by president trump to have an interview ?? please i am confused
July 15, 2020 at 15:19
Hi Simon and thanks for useful Videos
You might know, In the proclamation some exceptions are seen for the people who have studied in medical related majors with work experience.
My wife is a selectee in DV2020, having Bs. Certification in laboratory of science with over 5yrs experience in Lab.
Looking above you believe how we can approach US embassy and prove that she is kind of US national interest . Is any chance to convince them?
Any What’s up or Telegram account?
Thanks in advance for your support
July 15, 2020 at 23:19
The exception is intended for people with medical training and experience, who are fighting COVID and are coming for a job offer in that field. So – without the job offer, I do not believe you would qualify.
July 15, 2020 at 23:08
The process ends on September 30th, 2020. So – you need the legal challenge to work, the embassies to open and so on. Even then, not everyone will be interviewed.

Good morning Simon,
I won a dv lottery 2021 and trying to fill out DS-260 the last 1 month. All of this time I received a message “The Case Number entered is currently unavailable. Please try again later or contact the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC)”. Please advise what is it mean? Should I take a lawyer?
Thank you
Nataly

Most likely you are entering details incorrectly. But if you are sure you are, you can contact KCC.
July 29, 2020 at 16:58
Hi Nataly, I am DV 2021 winner. I first filled DS-260 but when I get back to review I was unable to login as stated case number entered is currently unavailable and maybe the same your case now. But did you contact KCC concerning this case issue?
July 26, 2020 at 09:08
I am a winner of DV-2021, I am inside US, should I file DS-260 or I can submit Only the AOS I-485 when my number is current??
July 26, 2020 at 14:16
If you are processing through AOS, the DS260 is optional but recommended. BUT you don’t have to send it very early.
The link below has all the info you need for AOS.

Hello,
Quick question. As we are in a pandemic I will not be able to get all of the police clearance letters that are needed for my application. As some of them require you to be in the country to do your fingerprints.
I will be able to get it from my home country but not any other country that I have lived in (2 more)
What should I do about this situation?
July 27, 2020 at 22:20
Follow the instructions on the reciprocity page *precisely* and document that you have taken all the steps. Then you can show that you followed instructions.
July 29, 2020 at 20:57
Hi Simon, I read in the instructions on the reciprocity page mentions that “Police Records – Unavailable for applicants inside and outside Indonesia. Indonesian police certificates require initial processing at a local or village level, which is nonstandard in nature, can be subject to capricious decisions by officials and may require nonofficial payments to proceed further.”
But why in the email KCC is still asking Police Records from Indonesia? Do I need to provide it or I just need to explain to them that it is unavailable?
I am Indonesian but long time live in another country. Thank you for your time.
July 30, 2020 at 21:18
KCC don’t know specifics for every country – so they would only ask generically. You then provide the printout of the reciprocity page showing why you cannot provide the cert. That will satisfy KCC.

Thank you Simon. God bless
