We have many DV2020 selectees with very basic questions. Let me try and address the most frequent ones here in the hope that people will read this. If you ask a question and I give you a link to this page, it is to indicate that your question can be answered by reading this page and using some common sense. Please use the links in the title at the top of this page for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and the DV lottery guide. There is LOTS of information available on my site – so a look through the FAQ and guide will take care of most questions.
Please read the ground rules at the bottom of this page.
Current Status of the ESC page
For the first few days each year the performance of the system is bad. Too many people are checking, the site gets overwhelmed and crashes. As of today, it seems to be behaving better most of the time – BUT it could still crash or be sluggish.
The site is accurately providing results. It is not broken for basic checking. However, the “Forgot Confirmation Number link is broken. It takes your info and bounces back to the start when you submit. So – if you have not got your details from the entry last year, you will have to wait until they fix that functionality. I have NO IDEA when that will be. You have to just wait. I have received MANY requests to recover confirmation codes for people, I have NO WAY of doing that, so your emails are being ignored.
Next, as usual, I have already had many people who swear they have followed instructions and the system won’t find their result. Every single case I have been sent so far that I have check I was able to get the result first time. That means people are not paying attention. The most common ways are entering the whole name (not just the lastname before the comma), or they mix up letters/numbers in the confirmation code. The system prompts people about the latter, but people ignore that, and assume the system is broken. It is not broken. YOU are making a mistake. The links below will help both with the checking AND with accessing the DS260 for winners.
However, I do want to urge people to NOT rush to fill out the DS260. There is no advantage to rushing, and many of you can actually cause yourself a problem by submitting a DS260 without thinking it through. So – wait. Read below and take your time.
Here are two links to help those still not able to check their entry:
https://britsimonsays.com/faq/checking-esc-page-check-without-mistakes/
And here is a video to explain how to check your entry result.
And for those that cannot submit their DS260

And those that cannot access their DS260 because of invalid immigrant case number message click this link
Now – some questions.
Is there a deadline to submit my DS260?
There is no official deadline to submit your DS260. People will continue to submit DS260s for DV2019 cases well into 2020. Submissions as late as April, May or perhaps even June of next year will still get processed in time.
How long does it take to process the DS260?
The way DS260’s are processed was changed for DV2018. In addition there was a change to the process at the beginning of this year about ubmitting documents to KCC AFTER the DS260. So – please be careful.
The actual processing time of the DS260 is quite short – probably 3 to 4 weeks. From 2018, KCC managed to prioritize the way they process DS260s to ensure DS260s submitted for lower case numbers are processed before higher case numbers that will wait anyway for their case numbers to become current. This was a good change – because in previous years DS260 caused scheduling delays for many cases.
Does every DS260 take the same time to process?
No. There is some background checks required on each case that vary according to the situation of the selectees. The precise details of the checks are not published, but we can guess they are mainly about ensuring security of the USA. That means they communicate with agencies and foreign governments about the details you provide on the DS260. Some countries co-operate with the USA, some don’t. In countries that don’t co-operate you can expect DS260 will take longer. So, some cases are very simple, and some not so simple. If a selectee was raised in Western Europe, works in an office and has never travelled to certain high risk countries we can expect the DS260 processing (once the case is ACTUALLY processed, not queued) to be quick. If on the other hand someone has travel history around certain countries in the middle East or lists their work as “Nuclear weapons specialist”, well they can expect the US government to take longer over those checks.
So – never assume that all DS260s submitted on the same day will complete processing on the same day. There will be variations.
When will I be interviewed?
Interview timing is mainly based on your case number, and where that number is ranked within each region. If you submitted your DS260 early, but have a high case number within your region, you will wait until that case number is ready to be interviewed. So – if you are case number 10000 in AS region for example you can expect a long wait before being interviewed. However regions have their own numbering, SO that same number in AF region (where the highest case number could be a lot higher) that 10000 number would be very low. So “low or high” number is relative within the region.
Is my number safe?
At this time we are already seeing some VERY high case numbers being quoted, these high numbers are FAR beyond the numbers that we have come to consider as safe numbers. So there can only be two explanations of that.
- KCC have selected FAR too many people and high case numbers will not get interviewed. That has happened before, and is somewhat “normal” which is why being selected is not a guarantee of getting a Green Card.
- There are more holes this year because KCC implemented some new technology/rule. This is a possible, but probably over optimistic idea. As I mentioned in my last article the case numbers are not consecutive. So – it is possible to have a massive increase in holes over previous years. But until we see the selectee numbers we will not know how many holes there are.
The point is, if point 2 is not correct (and I tend to believe it is not), then this year will see cutoffs at the end of the year so selectees with high case numbers will miss out. Again, until we see the selectee numbers we cannot say for sure what is high, or what is safe. Please understand I cannot answer the “am I safe” question for many of you.
Update July 2019 – since this article was published we now have more data and I have predictions here:
When will interviews start and how will I be told of my interview date?
No DV2020 interviews will happen before October 2019. DV2020 interviews will continue until September 30th 2020. So stop packing your bags. It’s a long process. Interview scheduled are notified in monthly batches about 6 weeks before the interview month. The notification is called the 2NL.
When will KCC send the first 2NLs?
The first 2NLs (the interview notification) for DV2020 will go out in mid/late August. That will be for cases that have been processed AND are current for October, AND have submitted their documents. Then 2NLs will come in a monthly schedule, also late in each month. So – late in September for November interviews and so on.
When are the visa bulletins published?
The visa bulletins are published around the 8th to the 15th of each month. If you call KCC they will always respond that it is released on the 15th. They are not “late” until the 16th. Usually I get people lamenting “the sky is falling” and “why are they so late” around the 10th or 11th. That will happen every month – and no matter how many times I explain, people are impatient. But please understand this is very predictable – there WILL be a new VB every month, between the 8th and the 15th. Every month.
“My case number is XXXX when will I be scheduled?”
Oh man. These questions are tiring. I really expect people to use some thought process about this, and if you can’t do that, then asking me to think for you is not going to be warmly welcomed by me. I have made available more than enough information to get an idea of how scheduling works, but remember, cases are scheduled according to ALL the following three things.
- The case number. No case will EVER be scheduled until the case number is ready.
- DS260 submission. Until the DS260 is submitted AND PROCESSED, you will not be scheduled.
- Submitted documents to KCC (new process). Until your documents are submitted to KCC you will not be processed. Read about the new procedure here.
How do KCC schedule the cases?
Roughly speaking all interviews are spread out over the year, starting in October and ending the following September. KCC release numbers via the visa bulletin to say which case numbers can be interviewed. Check out this article to understand how to read the visa bulletin.
KCC will increase the number made current on each region at a pace that ensures they have enough interviews to match the embassy capacity during each month.
So – to take an example. If OC had a highest case number of 1000, we could roughly expect to see that number increase by 100 each month. It might be 75 one month and 125 the next, but you get the general idea – it is a slow progression over the year.
Will there be a second draw?
In some years it is possible that there would be a small second draw around September/October. However, it would only be a small number of cases – so chances of being in that selection are very small. However, given the high case numbers we are seeing, there is almost no chance of a second draw for DV2020.
Please learn to be self sufficient about this point. This site has LOTS of information. Please apply some common sense and think before asking a question.
You can look at the historical visa bulletin numbers from previous years to get an idea how things work. However, every year is different, so I would suggest only taking a look at DV2018 to try and anticipate when your number will be scheduled for interview. **Please** do that rather than asking me to predict your interview date. Use some judgment and common sense to allow me to spend my time on people that need help with more critical questions.
Selectees, cases and case numbers
OK – so there is some confusion about this – so let me cover it here.
When the selectee numbers are published (in the July or August visa bulletin there is a number shown for each country within each region. That number is the number of *selectees – INCLUDING derivatives*. So – if a winner was single, that is one selectee on one case number. If the winner was married and had one child, that would count as three selectees. The global quota of visas is 50,000, so if the three person family were to be approved, that is 3 out of 50,000.
Each winner gets a case number. The derivatives are on that same case number. Each region has it’s on set of case numbers – so there can be an AF1, AF2, AS1, AS2, EU1 and EU2 ands so on. So when you tell me your case number is case number 12345 – it is meaningless. I need the year and region.
As I explain in this post about holes theory – the case numbers assigned have “holes” (or gaps between them). So – case number 2019EU20000 does NOT have 19999 cases in front of them. The number will be less. However, there may be less case numbers – but each case has the selectee and derivatives.
To understand your “place in the line”, you have to understand the density of cases, number of derivatives on each case, how many cases will respond, how many will be approved and so on. There is a lot to understand. I wrote a series of articles a couple of years ago – and all can be understood by reading those – start with density analysis, and use the links at the bottom of that article to get to the others. The analysis was specific to DV2016 – but the principles are the same.
In the first few months of the new program year we don’t have much data. In January we get access to the CEAC data and then we will understand a lot more. The CEAC data is all the case status info for every case – but again we will not have DV2020 CEAC data until January 2020. In the meantime, you can see excellent visualizations of the DV2018 and 2019 data at the site maintained by a smart guy call Xarthisius. The site illustrates well the density, response rate and so on, which are things you will hear me explain (and can read about on my site).
How many visas can be issued for DV2020? How about XXX country?
According to the published information, there are 50,000 visas available globally. However, the visas are allocated through a quota system to each region. They are NOT allocated by country. However, no one country can receive more than 7% of the global allocation. – so regions have an allocation of the 50,000 global quota. This is explained in more detail here.
Can DV2019 be stopped by Trump/Republicans/Aliens?
This was fully detailed in this post from August 2017. Since then, Trump and the Republicans have continued to achieve almost nothing, and there has been no credible progress toward immigration law changes. Please read that article, and don’t ask me the same questions again until an actual real law is passed.
GROUND RULES for BritSimonSays.com
I don’t work for the government, I don’t get paid for this. I work for a living and I sleep sometimes. So – I expect people to respect my time. That means the following “rules” exist on my site.
- Read the DV lottery guide. It includes a link to my guide on how to complete the DS260, an overall rough idea of the process and so on.
- READ the FAQ (frequently asked questions). If you ask me a question that is covered in the FAQ, you are wasting my time. Please help me help you and others that need help
- Learn how to use the search feature and translation features of this site.
- Post your questions in English. Like many of you, I am multilingual but English is a common language – and most Americans ONLY speak English, and mostly, not very well 😉
- If asking multiple questions, number your questions and consider how I can answer the question. Consider how I can answer with a simple yes or no or short answer – you will find I ALWAYS answer questions like that, because you considered how to make the answer easy for me to give. Give me enough detail to answer the question without making me read about your life history for 10 minutes. I do ignore some rambling questions that send me to sleep…
- Do NOT post “are you sure” type questions – I simply HATE that. It is a huge waste of my time to have to deal with that type of follow up. Read my answer 10 times if you need, but unless you are CONVINCED I misunderstood or answered incorrectly, don’t ask me the same thing I just answered.
- Post your question once and wait for a reply. Sometimes your post won’t show up on the public page until I approve it. That doesn’t mean you should post the same question 5 more times. Just wait.
- If following up to a question you already asked – use “REPLY” to keep the questions in context. I see an administrators view of the questions – I don’t always see that one question is close to your previous question, but I am able to jump to the thread if you use reply.
- Don’t expect me to know everything about life in all the countries around the world. You may not have left country A – but you should consider that the world does not all work the same way as country A.
- Tell the truth. Don’t lie to me. I hate it – and it is pointless. This process requires honesty. So do I.
- Keep your data private. Your case number should be quoted with region and year, but you don’t need to give me, or anyone else, a precise number. Give a range by “X-ing out” the last few digits. So – if your number is 2019AF000012345, you can quote your number as 2019AF12XXX. That tells me you are about the 12000 to 13000 range in AF region in 2019.
- Every year I get a few characters that drive me nuts. There is the person that asks every single question that pops into their head. If someone is making use of the info here, that should not be necessary. Take some responsibility for your own case. Second I get some smartasses that get uppity with me over one thing or another. I could argue for England, I enjoy a good argument, but this isn’t the place for that and I am too busy. I will not hesitate to delete messages I find annoying or damaging to other people’s chances. Some people are amazed when I do that – but this is my blog. If you want to argue because you think you know better, just find somewhere else to do that. I’m not interested in feeding your ego, and I don’t care if you think I am arrogant, mean, a tyrant or whatever. Really – I don’t care, so those “accusations” don’t hurt me.
- This space reserved for any other rules I think of, whenever I think of them.

Good day,
Brit, what do you think is the reason for the abnormally high number of visa refusals for DV applicants in Madrid?
Over the last three years, 153 EU cases have been processed in Madrid, with a refusal rate of 9.15%, which is significantly higher than in most average embassies.
Overall, the probability of not getting a visa (Refused + 221g at the end of the fiscal year) in Madrid for EU applicants over the past three years is 10.45%.
In Montreal, which is often mentioned, the probability of not getting a visa (Refused + 221g at the end of the fiscal year) for EU applicants over the same period is 10.77%.
As mentioned earlier, 153 EU cases have been processed in Madrid over the past three years, compared to 195 in Montreal.
Why does no one mention that Madrid might be worth avoiding?
September 8, 2024 at 09:20
First, the sample size you are talking about for Madrid is really too small to form an opinion. It only takes a couple of extra cases to skew the percentage.
Second Montreal is mentioned because of the number of cases that are put into 221g. The way you have stated those numbers, you have hidden the fact that Montreal has left many cases in 221g, and ignores the delay cases have endured there.
There is no particular reason to think Madrid is bad.

Hi Brit
Greetings from uae Dubai I am a dv 2025 winner my case number is 2025AF5xxx as couple and the interview location is Abu Dhabi any advice on when to receive our 2NL … and my wife gave birth on June 13 2024 after we summited already our Ds260 as single parents can we unlock our form and mention we have a child now ? Pls any advice for us thanks
August 21, 2024 at 08:50
You should have unlocked to add the child already. Ask KCC if they will do that now.
August 10, 2024 at 04:20
Hi Simon , my case number is 2025OC26**. Will there be any chance of getting an appointment letter of interview.
August 10, 2024 at 08:15
Maybe. It is too early to be certain.
August 9, 2024 at 01:54
Hello Simon. DV25. Submitted ds260. Will KCC really contact me proactively to submit more documents like birth certificates or police records? Or shall I at some point submit it per email? I know the page “if you’re selected” states that KCC will contact you but heart and read in many cases they didn’t contact selectees. Thanks in advance.
August 9, 2024 at 08:27
The instructions were updated to say that no documents are needed prior to the interview.
July 6, 2024 at 12:39
Dear BritSimon,
I hope you are doing well.
As a DV2024 winner, I played with my 2 daughters and submitted the ds-260 for the 2 of them.
Since I am no more in a relationship with their mother, she says she wants to stay with the 2 kids for some years.
Can I go to the interview without the 2 kids and indicate that they won’t be traveling now with me?
Thank you!
July 7, 2024 at 11:26
Yes
May 28, 2024 at 23:21
Dear Mr. Simon,
Firstly, thank you so much for all your videos; they are incredibly helpful.
We seek your advice and thoughts, please.
We won the DV-2025 lottery for the EU region (case EU25***), but we are currently living in Canada. While filling out the DS-260 form, it suggested the Montreal, Canada embassy, but we selected Vancouver, Canada, as we live in Vancouver.
However, I have now read that the Vancouver embassy only issues non-immigrant visas, not immigrant visas.
Our question is: Should we request a change on our DS-260 form to select the Montreal embassy as initially suggested, or do you believe this is a minor issue that will be resolved automatically, and the appropriate embassy will be selected without our intervention?
Thank you very much for your guidance.
Sincerely,
May 29, 2024 at 12:12
They will ignore your choice and pick Montreal.
June 3, 2024 at 21:08
Thank you so much!
May 20, 2024 at 08:31
Good morning Brit,
I am asking for my friend who has won the 2025 dv lottery, when he applied for the lottery he only included his wife and himself, and didn’t include their 2 kids, the question is, can he include them in the ds260?!
Thank you so much!
May 20, 2024 at 10:21
Your friend should stop the process now. He cannot fix this problem and will simply waste his time and money.
May 1, 2023 at 19:24
Hi Brit Simon . Can you share any data of how the US embassy in Zimbabwean has behaved historically in terms of scheduling . And any thoughts on them this year ?
May 5, 2023 at 14:17
They are not a very busy embassy, so even though they are a little behind this year I am hopeful they will catch up.
April 25, 2023 at 11:45
Hello Sir, I inquired about my ds-260 application and the response from KCC was that I’m current for interview processing but I inquired about it again and they’re saying my form has been received and I should allow several weeks for processing.
Is this normal???
April 25, 2023 at 16:59
No – but it is probably not true.
April 8, 2023 at 09:52
Hello Brit.
I submitted my DS 260 without my two infants passport details because I had not made them yet. Do I need to anything about that as my status is at NVC
April 14, 2023 at 12:44
You can add their passport details at the interview.
February 11, 2023 at 17:54
In regards to the DS260 i was hoping to enquir if its possible to use my phone to fill the form or ill have to borrow a laptop?!?!
February 12, 2023 at 13:45
Easier on a laptop.
January 11, 2023 at 15:31
I issued a new passpor as the old one which I used in ds260 will expire, should I inform Kcc officially by email or I just inform them at the interview? Knowing that my case is current and I am expecting notification letter any time
Thanks
January 15, 2023 at 10:08
At interview is fine.
December 4, 2022 at 01:56
please let us know if its a big mistake or not please ???🌹🌹
WE Chose married to Us spouse . He is not a Us spouse but i chose it by mistake ???
1 -unamarried
2 -married NOT us spouse
3 – married to us spouse i chose this
but i should have chosen number 2
how it happened ?
i listed my spouse pic name etc but while revising the information we moved to part one to revise it i saw NOT i was in a hurry i think the mark changed for some reason to number 3 or i changed it when i saw NOT ??? thats the only guessing
how we found out ??
the problem is my spouse wasnot in the ds26 this is the way we knew that there was something wrong but we are sure we marked married
the only explanation
choosing number 3 deleted the information of the spouse from dv lottery and remove it from ds260 because he doesnot need visa
the proof we are honest
we applied for the spouse in the same system at the same time to increase our chance so we cant lie about him and no one can lie about the nationality
we had to add applicant in the ds for the spouse
now my question should i go for the interview or we will be disqualified
we are 4 me and my spouse and two children the cost is 2000 usd please help
December 4, 2022 at 12:42
Your question is unclear, but if your entry did not include any eligible derivative, then disqualification is a 100% certain outcome.
November 9, 2022 at 08:36
hello Brit, i am a dv2023 winner. I have a concern. during the game I played single when I was married and when I was selected I continued as single because I do not plan to travel with my wife. I have 3 questions please help me
1´) do I have to continue single or I unlock my Ds to add my wife?
2) where can I declare that during my interview?
3) if I add my wife should I be eliminated for this since I got married before my dv2023 entry and I did not declare my marriage?
Case number 13k
I’m Mauritanian and I have to pass my interview in Sénégal
November 12, 2022 at 15:47
My suggestion would be to forget you won.
You broke the rules, and to continue as single would be a serious crime of immigration fraud.
Adding your spouse guarantees disqualification.
This can’t be fixed.
October 6, 2022 at 14:34
Hello Brit,
It seems dv 2024, does not require any passport information? Was i on a correct website?
Thank you.
October 6, 2022 at 18:30
Correct
October 6, 2022 at 14:27
Hello Brit,
I have two questions that i seek your opinion on, before starting my dv 2024 application.
1. I had a traditional marriage which got no documentation, just the two families, can I say I’m married without any document proving so?
2. Again, the marriage has also been dissolved by the elders of both families. Can I say I’m divorced?
October 6, 2022 at 18:29
1. In some countries traditional marriage is legally recognized, but there may be processes to go through to register the marriage. So – it depends on local laws.
2. See 1.
June 29, 2022 at 06:56
Hello Brit, thank you for your service.
1. I have a case number 2023AF38xxx. The highest case number my country processes for the past 5 years is below 32000. I have seen posts of people from my country who transferred elsewhere to get an interview and have been issued even though they are not residents in the country of interview. Unfortunately I am unable to contact them directly for guidance. a. Would you advise I do a transfer? and b. what is the latest I can do this transfer? Because I do not want to transfer when my country might process a lot more for DV2023.
2. Can I reenter the DV2024 even though I am a DV 2023 selectee awaiting interview?
June 29, 2022 at 16:36
1. You are probably misunderstanding the numbers. It would have helped if you had said which country we are talking about.
2. Yes.
June 20, 2022 at 20:36

May 20, 2022 at 12:49
Hello. In my ds260 in the city of birth, I placed “A,B”. Similarly in my child’s ds260 in the father’s (me) city of birth I placed “B” only. Note that “A” is the approximate city since in my passport and birth certificate it’s written District of birth/place of birth as “B” ( which in it’s self is a district not a city). Therefore as approximate city I placed “A” . Will it be a major problem? Note that “A” is in the passport as place of residence. Is it necessary to unlock it?
May 21, 2022 at 16:16
Not a problem.
May 16, 2022 at 20:43
hello Brit, I am the winner of 2023, I sent DS260, but, i did not mention my high school education, just mentioned bachalor and master’s degree, is it a problem? is it nessessery to unlock my case? thank you in advance
May 18, 2022 at 20:20
I would unlock and correct.
April 26, 2022 at 14:35
Hey brit, how re u doing ,now ma question is ,I applied for a dv lottery 2023 ,but then there is a friend of mine who had ma details and also did the same for me using the same passport number, isn’t that a multiple entry Brit please ? Won’t I be discluded ???
April 28, 2022 at 04:50
Yes you will be disqualified from the draw.
March 27, 2022 at 21:51
Hi Brit dv2022AS139XX I see some higher case than us frm same region r already scheduled we didn’t receive 2NL yet,I am an Afghan interview location is Ankara submitted ds260 on July.10.2021.
What should be the reason for disorderness
April 2, 2022 at 19:01
It’s normal. Cases processed earlier can be scheduled earlier.
March 17, 2022 at 11:44
Dear Brit Simon
Really appreciate for what u r doing
I have a question if u please answer me.
I have been selected in the dv lottery for the year 2022
And i have received e-mail informing me of the interview date on the april of 2022(Ankara) , in last September my child was born therefore i sent an email to the KCC requesting reopening the DS-260 for adding the child. And afer the reopened it i added the child to the DS-260 of me and my wife and i didn’t fill a new DS-260 form for the child. I’m wondering should I fill new DS-260 form now before the interview. Or should I add him in the day of the interview. What is the best option I had to do in your opinion.
Regards ????
March 20, 2022 at 20:50
You should have done that a long time ago. Discuss ASAP with the embassy.

Hello sir greetings. Please i want to inquire from you that if someone made a typing error with the passport issuing date and expiration date is it enough reason to request for his ds260 to be open for correction?
February 2, 2022 at 19:38
That is pretty important information, so yes, correct it.

hello, I have won DV 2022 lottery and I am a widow with a 4years daughter, in my journey to America, I plan that my child will join me later after 3 year. My question is this one, do I need passport for her when I will required for documents? do I need to pay medical test and visa fees? Thank you.
December 10, 2021 at 06:15
In this case you would not process with your daughter, and you could sponsor her later. But please consider how hard that will be (to miss your daughter) and that it is a more complex process to bring her later.

Dear Brit,
I am DV 2022 winner with CN 32XX. I am from Ethiopia and our embassy is closed so, I decided to change my interview location to Cairo Egypt and I was wondering to ask you that, if it’s possible to change my interview location without being resident in the country ?
Thank you .
December 2, 2021 at 04:35
Possibly – although KCC normally expects a change of address.
November 4, 2021 at 10:31
Dear Brit
Could plz help me with this question
I am an Afghan living in Turkey İstanbul for almost 5 years under short term resident permit I even bought property here (an apartment).
I won 2022 AS13xxx applied from Istanbul selected Ankara for interview.
Now you mentioned in a video a week ago that Ankara will not accept foreigners’ interview except Turkish citizens what should I do now, do I change interview location or it is only for those guys who changes ther interview location newly like Iranians and Afghan.
If I am supposed to change interview location for example to Tajikistan when should go to Tajikistan? After 2NL?
Appreciate and God bless you

Your case number won’t be current for a few months, so if I were you I would do nothing for at least the rest of this year and watch what happens. I think procedures will be changed.
November 8, 2021 at 22:27
Thank you very Brit.
as far as Ankara does not accept foreigners’ interview.
Do the KCC inform us to change our interview location to a 2nd country before being current.
If they don’t, our case won’t be current until we haven’t changed interview location. Right?
November 13, 2021 at 16:01
The situation with Ankara may change. Wait.

Hello, I am not so sure whether you’d already written about why some of DV2020 winners are still waiting for date interviews up to now. If you did, I apologize for the message. One of my relatives won DV2020 and his case # 2020AF00032XXXX. He submitted all requested documents a few months before Covid19 outbreak, and since then, he never heard from the Kentucky office. He sent couple emails with no avails. I did some research it looks there are quite of DV2020 winners who haven’t still been served. what was the fate of DV2020 winners who hadn’t gotten their date interviews when the pandemic broke out? was DV2020 cancelled for the rest of the DV2020 winners during the pandemic?(since there were still some 8 months before DV2020 fiscal year ends). And what the meaning of not responding to emails or not sending out messages to say either the file is closed or still active?? Thanks and I appreciate the time you would take to respond.
Thank you,
Guy

DV2020 ended a year ago. In a normal year that would have been the end of your case. However, the Gomez lawsuit has achieved a reservation of 9095 visas which will be issued in the coming months. I suggest if you want any chance of getting within those reserved visas you need to pay attention to what is happening. Read and learn about Gomez and be ready to take action once we have approval. If you sit and wait another year without doing anything, you will certainly lose your chance.

@BritSimon, Thank you so much for the info and suggestions. Wouldn’t miss tipping a bit of donation for the work you are doing whenever possible. DV selectees who are still awaiting their visas -can they still apply for the DV lottery( i.e: DV Lottery 2023) when they are still waiting for their visas to be sorted out?
Thank you!
October 29, 2021 at 23:09
No harm in that.
October 14, 2021 at 08:13
I have finished my Bachelor’s Degree so while entry for the lottery what should I select for highest education achieved?
October 16, 2021 at 03:49
Use your common sense.
May 26, 2023 at 12:32
Hi Simon, can an embassy on it own schedule an interview for DV applicant who is on the AV queue?
Like a case number of 2023AF38xxx. It is at NVC and has not been scheduled by KCC yet. Can the embassy on it own arrange for an interview for the case when it is yet to be scheduled by KCC?
May 27, 2023 at 11:11
No. The embassies have no knowledge of the winners and no ability to select who they want.

Hello, Sir
I have a case # 2022AF299XX. From your knowledge, does this number have a good chance of getting an interview or visa or is it too high?
