The DV2024 dates have not been officially published by the Department of State yet – BUT as has happened in a couple of previous years it looks like an embassy has “jumped the gun” and leaked the entry dates.
This announcement is taken from their Facebook account and shows the dates from October 5 to November 8th. These dates are different to the 2022 and 2023 dates, and have the appropriate length of time, so I believe these dates, whilst not yet official, will be accurate. The official announcement will probably come in the next week to 2 weeks – which is “normal”.
So – get ready for your entry.
A couple of questions I know will be asked:
- Can someone enter if they previously were selected in DV2023 or any other year – YES
- Do you need a passport to enter this year – NO

Common sense.
The passport rule was blocked before because they did not go through a procedure of announcing the rule, allowing public comment and so on.
They still have not gone through that process, so the rule cannot be reinstated.

Then you would follow a CP process, but if you did not already submit your ds260 during the FY2021 then you have a risk, and might only be able to try AOS.

29 Dec 2021: I did my medical but my chest x-ray wasn’t seems fine to pass the medical. I have told by the doctor to do a “sputum” test and the result will be sent to the embassy if the test doesn’t have any TB indication or I will be called for further treatment if it is a TB. I did then give 3 samples sputum and told the result will be out on March 4,2022(after 2 months). The Doctor gave me a letter which says ” The US embassy will contact me once they received the medical from IOM “.Therefore, I don’t need to go to the embassy on my interview date.
7 March 2022: The result was out and it has no sign of TB.The doctor cleared my medical and sent to the embassy on March 7,2022.
10 June 2022: I got the second appointment for 22 June 2022
22 June 2022: on my Interview date
I have asked to show both original and copy of the following Documents
1.High School Certificate
2. Passport
3. Police certificate
4. Birth certificate
I wasn’t having High school certificate, but instead I showed my BSc certificate,but the woman insisted( she is not the consular). I clarified why I didn’t have it,but it seems she wasn’t satisfied and took all the documents inside and told me to wait until I have been called.
I was so worried that the consular my refused my visa due to this High school certificate,However he didn’t raise such questions.he asked me
1. Did I commit any crimes?
2. Do I have wife and children?
3. Do I have a plan to marry?
It doesn’t even last 2 minutes.
He Said my visa is approved but my medical is expired and needs to be repeated. My medical validity was only for 3 months due to the abnormality of my chest x-ray.
01 July 2022: I got an appointment for medical in IOM
5 Sep 2022: my medical cleared it was fine.
13 Sep 2022: my medical sent to the embassy
14 Sep 2022: got an email from the embassy to send my passport
28 Sep 2022: my visa Issued
30 Sep 2022: I received my passport from DHL
N.B
But in all this journey I have been relentlessly communicating with the embassy through email and I think that’s the main factor to have finally Got it.

Good morning sir.
I have a question sir, but first let me explain the circumstances.
I have just submitted my dv2024 entry and for Me and my wife, but the internet was poor in the process. So I completed my own entry first including my wife and two kids in my entry, and I couldn’t close the windows on my phone’s browser so I like used the phone’s button instead of the form’s own, and I entered my wife’s information including myself and the kids as beneficiaries. Using the section of the entrant information I entered my wife’s info and pic and did the same for all of us beneficiaries. At the end the entrant name on the confirmation page was still mine and date of birth was my wife’s. So I had to close that windows on the phone’s browser and made a new entry at the end I was giving a confirmation number with her as the main applicant.
Note: I made 3 entries.
1. Mine (correct info. Confirmation page states my name and date of birth & pic)
2. My wife’s information was entered in the form as main applicant with info pic and on the confirmation page it says I am and the date of birth is hers.
3. Application for my wife ( everything correct as stated in note 1)
4. I have screenshots of the entries before submitting them. To prove what happened.
Question
1. Is this a multiple entry?
2. With the circumstances surrounding the entry, my wife’s info & pic entered in the form as main applicant and me as the beneficiary but on the confirmation page I was listed as the applicant. So will this cause disqualification?
3. Will this affect our chances of selection?
4. Who is responsible for the double entry?

Hi Mr Simon. Quick question: as I was helping my brother fill out his application, I entered the wrong city for bis birth city (he was not born in the capital, but since we have lived here all our lives I always forget). Is this an error that could lead to disqualification, or could it be corrected later on in the DS-260 if he is selected? (country of birth and the rest of the data are correct).
