This morning, I discussed the DV2025 selectee numbers which can be seen in the visa bulletin.
I have since realized that the published number of selectees does NOT include the UK, so the government will need to fix this mistake – and the 131,060 number will be increased. It’s quite amazing to see them make mistakes like this year after year.
I addressed most common questions in my video below, so please take a few minutes to watch that video.

Hi Simon, what will happen if the 2NL does not arrive by the interview date the KCC informed us? Also, is it ok if I am registered on the US travel portal before 2NL?
Thank you for all your kind assistance

Thank you very much, the problem
Is that the Embassy does not provide us with the specific information, declares that we should receive dates and time from KCC when it finalises processing our case. Actually the case is already processed, while I have interview date from KCC. Should I book the medical appointment?
September 13, 2024 at 19:27
As my article explains, yes.
September 10, 2024 at 14:08
Hello! If I have been in Sweden for 2 years and I am a resident here and I want to fill out the green card lottery application in October as a single person and I plan to get married a few months later can I update my application before May and the final results of the draw? And is it better to choose the embassy in Stockholm or maybe in Poland where I am from? Best regards!
September 11, 2024 at 13:06
The chance of being selected is very small – about one in 100 years. So – don’t overthink, just enter, truthfully, and wait for the results. Until then live your life.
September 14, 2024 at 11:05
Do you have statistics for selectees who then actually go on to receive a green card? Thank you.
September 14, 2024 at 17:26
It varies, most years its about half the selected.
September 14, 2024 at 18:52
Thank you
September 10, 2024 at 05:11
Hi @ BritSimon,
What is the latest about the 2Nls, it is worrisome somehow but God’s time is the best.
September 10, 2024 at 09:22
No further news. Still a technical problem.
September 11, 2024 at 10:11
hi simon
november bulletin is the same as october. why is that? is it normal? what does it mean for lower case numbers? is it good or not?

hi simon,
i wrote to the embassy in my country and they have replied with the following:
Dear applicant,
Based on our records we have not received your visa case from KCC at our office in….
KCC office handles Diversity Visa applications, for more information please contact them directly
kcc told me that my case number is current and ready to be scheduled for over a month.
so where is the problem? i thought there is a backlog at the embassy but now it seems that kcc didnt transfer my case to them. can you please explain how it works? thank you
September 12, 2024 at 18:42
This is answered in the link I gave you.
September 13, 2024 at 01:01
thank you simon. watch the video again. you are talking about 2nls, but we know that at least some interviews have been scheduled without sending 2nls. so just to confirm you think that kcc is holding my case and not transferring to my embassy due to a technical problem that they want to resolve?
by the way thank you very much for all your help.
September 13, 2024 at 19:30
It seems you didn’t read the article. You should do. If KCC haven’t told you a date for your interview then it is for one of the reasons I explain in the article. Please read it, so that I don’t have to re-explain.
September 14, 2024 at 01:09
hello. im sorry simon i read the article and watched the video. its not about kcc answer but what the embassy responded ( they didnt receive my case from kcc at all although my case number is current) i also watched the video where you explained about the av queue but you didnt mention if the queue is at the embassy or at kcc and when there is an open slot they transfer the cases to the embassy. i am just trying to understand if its kcc or the embassy “fault”. hope you can understand and shed some light.
thank you
September 14, 2024 at 09:40
What is your case number (with year and region) and which embassy is it?
September 14, 2024 at 11:24
hi simon
thank you.
case number 2025EU42**(country of chargeabillity uzbekistan)
i live in israel for the past 30 years so the embassy is jerusalem. my case number is current for october and my ds-260 has been submitted on may. kcc responded in july that is has been processed.
as i explained for the last month kcc responding that my case is current for interview. i decided to be proactive and wrote to my embassy in jerusalem (they are offering limited services due the ongoing war, so i asked them if they are scheduling interviews or not) and they responded that they didnt receive my case from kcc yet. i am trying to understand where is the problem… the embassy or kcc.
thank you and sorry for the trouble.
September 14, 2024 at 17:31
Embassies set their capacity each month and report that number to KCC. KCC schedule cases to use the capacity. If the embassy sets the capacity very low, then KCC won’t be able to schedule all the cases that month, and they will be scheduled in the next available month. We don’t know the capacity that each embassy sets.
So you just have to wait. Emailing the embassy is pointless as they know nothing about your case until scheduled.
September 15, 2024 at 01:32
thank you simon.
today i checked the status of my ds-260 and i see that my case is currently at jerusalem. so i think my embassy has the capacity to receive my case. i think i will get the 2nl this week.
thank you so much
September 15, 2024 at 07:58
OK good.
September 9, 2024 at 16:04
Hello sir.
Any new updates about 2nl?
September 10, 2024 at 09:11
No
September 11, 2024 at 00:55
hello simon,
can you plese tell me to your knowledge if my case number considered low or medium or even high?
my case number is 2025EU421*
country of chargeability uzbekistan (slightly lower numbers than eu)
for europe i pretty sure its low but uzbekistan is exceptional..
in september 2024 eu cases reached
50,000 while uzbekistan reached 17,000.
thank you very much.

Hello, my fiance has won DV 2025 with case number EU3***, why has the email not yet arrived, if so, in what month is the interview expected to take place?
August 30, 2024 at 09:52
2NLs will be sent late this month. My guess is that they have had technical problems. Be patient.
September 4, 2024 at 05:15
@BritSimon, this was KCC responds to my email as below;
“Thank you for your inquiry.
Your case number is now current for interview processing. If you are scheduled for an interview date, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.

Hi Brit Simon,
I am a 2024 dv lottery winner. I have been scheduled for interview 2024AF88XXX.
If all goes well my wife and my two kids will go to USA.
But we have a nephew living with us since 8 years. She is now 18 years old.
We can’t go and leave her behind.
I would appreciate please if you could advise how to proceed to travel with her in USA.
August 28, 2024 at 18:20
You cannot take her as part of your DV case and cannot sponsor her through a family based case.
August 29, 2024 at 04:30
Thank you very much Brit – I really appreciate your support!
August 27, 2024 at 05:48
Hi Simon, its Alvin Nairobi embassy, my case number 14*** submitted my ds260 on 26may, when can i expect my 2NL notification
August 27, 2024 at 12:50
Maybe this week, but it depends on whether your DS260 is processed.
September 3, 2024 at 19:25
Hi Simon, its Addis Ababa, Ethiopia emb,my case number 2025OC482 submitted my ds260 on 26september, when can i expect my 2NL notification
September 3, 2024 at 23:50
It is obvious that you have lied on your entries saying you were each born in Australia. You are going to waste your fees when you get denied as you clearly will. Please stop and be honest.
September 4, 2024 at 08:19
hi simon, saw your video today regarding the 2nl’s delay. i wrote to kcc and hoped for answer number 5, but got answer number 4( your case is now current…)
is it normal that i am current for october and haven’t been scheduled yet? my case number is 2025eu42**. thank you
September 4, 2024 at 11:49
Yes that is somewhat normal. It means one of two things.
1. Your DS260 wasn’t processed in time (the cutoff being about a month ago), but has been processed since then.
2. Your case was processed but your embassy did not give enough capacity to reach your case number.
Either way, the effect is the same. Just be patient.
September 4, 2024 at 12:46
thank you for you reply. its the embassy because the ds -260 has been processed on 22.7 (got a message from kcc).
i presume that the interview (if i will ever be scheduled) will be in november because they cant give me a couple of weeks notice correct?
by the way i am talking about jerusalem embassy and i tried to figure out according to your video if they perform well or not but i haven’t figured it yet. i see the eu numbers are high but africa cases are low so what does it mean regarding the embassy? can you please share your knowledge regarding the performance of jerusalem embassy in 2023? thank you
September 4, 2024 at 15:30
Jerusalem embassy is difficult to predict. They could easily set their capacity to zero or almost zero. All you can do is wait and be happy your number is low.
September 5, 2024 at 00:20
thank you simon
September 4, 2024 at 14:24
its the embassy because the ds-260 has been processed on 27.7.24
(got message from kcc).
i think they will (if) schedule the interview in november because they cant give me a couple of weeks notice right?
its the jerusalem embassy and although i tried to figure out have they perform according to gour video i cant understand it. the eu numbers they reached are high but the african cases are somewhere in the middle so what does it says about their performance and i will thankful if you could shed some light ocoording to their performance in dv 2024. thank you
September 7, 2024 at 12:01
Hi simon, watching your videos and i would like to ask you if the “technical problem” you have talked about is only for sending 2nl’s or it influencing scheduling interviews as well? What i mean is people didn’t receive their 2nl’s yet but as you said they wrote to kcc and got the number 5 answer, but still i see a lot of people that are current for october and kcc responds to them with answer number 4. So i wonder if its only a technical problem regarding the 2n’ls or it’s affecting scheduling Interviews as well? Thank you
September 7, 2024 at 12:06
Obviously we don’t know the specifics, but it is totally normal that people at this time of year would have not been processed by early August leading to them not getting 2NLs even though they are current.
September 7, 2024 at 12:31
Thank you for your reply simon. I am referring to people that have been processed already as i saw in the comments to your last vidoes but still were not scheduled for an interview. So we can’t tell if the technical problem affecting the interviews scheduling at this point as well, and not only the 2nl’s?
September 7, 2024 at 16:28
Well, we know a lot of people who have been told their interview dates, so at least some scheduling has been happening.
September 9, 2024 at 15:57
Hi Simon,
i am from Sierra Leone and my case number is 2025AF12***, i submitted my ds-260 on 29 August,
1)When will I expect 2nl
2) do I stand a chance in Sierra Leone embassy ?
Thank you in advance
September 10, 2024 at 09:11
You will get an interview, but because you submitted so late, it now depends on when your DS260 is processed. You will need to be patient.
August 25, 2024 at 16:31
Hello,
My case number is 2025AF44xx
I am based in nairobi, Kenya and I filled my ds-260 form on may 15th
When do you think I will receive my 2nl and is nairobi a good embassy
August 25, 2024 at 17:17
You might get your 2NL in the next week. NRB is good.
August 19, 2024 at 23:46
Hi Simon,
I’m 2025 DV winner and CN is AS 15***. Is there any hope for my CN this year?
August 20, 2024 at 07:41
Maybe – too early to be sure.
August 19, 2024 at 13:51
Hi !
Thanks for all the video. I’ve been selected for the DV lottery 2025, I’m already in the USA with another visa, so what should I do ? Send a form to UCSIS that’s it ?
Thank you for your answer.
August 19, 2024 at 16:33
It’s not quite as simple as that. You can’t adjust status until your case number is current. But I suggest you learn about the process – You can get a full education at the link below. Pay particular attention to the linked spreadsheets within the first post on that thread.

Hi Simon,
i am from Ghana and my case number is 2025AF33***, i submitted my ds-260 on 23rd June,
1. Do i have a chance of being selected or invited for an interview
2. How do i check or know i have been selected for an interview through which medium will i receive this letter or notification
Thank you
August 14, 2024 at 09:41
1. If you stay in Ghana ad Accra embassy continues their bad behavior, you will lose your chance. You should move to another country.
2. The 2NL arrives as an email. Read the basic questions.
August 13, 2024 at 21:02
Hi BritSimon,
Should Incase you are being asked why is it that your spouse is not caring your sur name instead she is caring her maiden name (her father’s sur-name)?
How could someone respond to the question?
Please help!!

Simply the truth
August 12, 2024 at 16:55
Thank you so much
August 11, 2024 at 09:03
Sir when would you advise a case no. AF31k DV25 in Accra to consider moving considering the number of case numbers that were made current in the recent VB
August 11, 2024 at 10:26
Yes
August 11, 2024 at 08:55
Hi Simon, I hope you are well.
I have 2025AS13xxx and I want to ask if you think Baghdad or Frankfurt would be better for me?
August 11, 2024 at 10:25
That is something you must decide for yourself. Have a look at the 2024 data if you want, but I don’t know what will happen in 2025
August 10, 2024 at 17:35
Hi Simon, hope you are well!
In your last QA stream someone said that they got no 2NL with EU36k for DV2024 even though the cut-off number is 50k. Is that depending on the embassy? I’m asking because I got EU39k for DV2025 which seems bad but I wonder if the cut-off reaches 40k for example in a last big push as seen this year, how would my chances be to actually get a 2NL? I’m from Budapest, Hungary and our embassy seems not to receive many cases in general (I believe we got about 100 selectees for DV2025…)
August 10, 2024 at 21:52
Yes the embassy plays a part in it. But remember, each year is different. Your case number in DV2025 is probably higher than 50K in DV2024. We will know more in January.
August 11, 2024 at 06:44
Wow that sounds really bad then. We’ll see, thanks for the feedback!
August 10, 2024 at 13:54
Interested
August 19, 2024 at 02:00
Hi simon,i am 2025AF26K addis embassy do i have a chance to be called for interview
August 19, 2024 at 09:36
It really depends on the behavior of Addis embassy. I can’t predict that with certainty. If you can move to another country, do so.
