Hi Simon, Thank you for the video and breakdown of the DV program. Since you are crunching numbers and giving us stats, I was wondering if you have any information or data on people who have won the lottery twice (we lost our chance with dv2023 due to “underperforming” Addis Ababa Embassy). Also would be great if you could share the telegram page so we can follow there as well

Selection is random, so there are people who get selected a second time, but I don’t have stats.
Current year telegram is https://t.me/DV_2025_Global

Ok thank you.

Hey Simon,
you mention in this blog post at the top Great Britain is eligible again, however I’m failing to find where this is confirmed. I can only see Great Britain in the ineligible category. On the DV-2025_Instructions (provided by the department of state) there is this line “Great Britain (United Kingdom) and its dependent areas do qualify for DV-2025.”. This is missing on the DV-2026_Instructions, and Great Britain is actually listen as ineligible.

You can read the instructions more carefully, or trust that I have done so.

Hi Brit, one question, can somebody apply two times for 2026, one with the nationality where they were born and the other with the nationality they have as second nationality? Both countries are acceptable. May this increase her chances or she just has to apply once with the nationality she chooses? Thank you very much.
September 28, 2024 at 21:29
No. Eligibility is based on place of birth, not nationality.

Why OC has geater chance of selection any other region?
What is the key chance?
September 27, 2024 at 09:39
The number of entries is much lower than other regions in comparison to the number of selectees chosen in that region. So even though the number of selectees is low, the chance of being selected is around 5 times better than in other regions.

So if understood the lottery will be made by région?

Correct

Hi Simon. I need help knowing if my sister whose husband is currently in jail, probably for a long time, can enter the DV lottery. She has two kids with her husband and currently she is legally married to the man. What are her options since she can’t register as single?
September 27, 2024 at 09:36
She can enter, but she must enter as married. That means she must have a passport like photo of him, and that might be difficult to get, but if she used an old photo that wouldn’t be a problem since he will not attend the interview.
