OK – this is early days of DV2021, so it is too soon to know everything, but to help people understand about case numbers I put this video together.

Hello Mr. Brit tnx a lot for your explanation
I’m the winner of DV-2021
My passport will expire on
August 2021
Is there any problem about it?
2021AF10***
June 16, 2020 at 10:03
Hy Brit, thank you soo much for the informative articles you’ve been giving.
I am a selectee this year from Ghana with a case number of 2021AF71XXX.
There are few questions I would like u to help me with;
1.My passport will expire next year October 2021. I hope I can continue filling my ds 260 forms with the existing one and present the new one I will do when scheduled for an interview.
June 16, 2020 at 18:35
1. That’s fine.
June 16, 2020 at 18:28
No
June 16, 2020 at 11:44
Hi Simon, my case number is 2021EU36XXX …. (Italy) I sent the DS-260 on 11.06.20 and I received the Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application Confirmation from the KCC.
are affixed with the documentation (Vaccines, various certificates, affidativ support, employment contract, etc.).
1. Do you think I have a good chance of being contacted for medical visits and an interview in Naples?
2. How many visas are issued on average for Italians?
3. How long will I have to wait before my DS-260 passes to the competence of the American consulate in Naples?
Thanks in advance and congratulations for your valuable information on the DV program.
June 16, 2020 at 18:42
1. We don’t know about selectee numbers yet – so it is too early to be certain.
2. There is not a quota for Italians or any other country – so it depends on selectee numbers.
3. A long time – probably about 1 year.
June 17, 2020 at 07:31
tanks Simon…
June 18, 2020 at 02:34
Hi Simon , our number is 2021EU37XXX Armenia, we have completed DS260 , but we havent got any answer from them, any reply or any instructions, is that normal?
Cause I see that SA1973 received reply with instructions.
Thanks
June 18, 2020 at 03:46
You are going to need to learn some patience. There is absolutely no advantage to rushing – you are going to have to wait for months, and so you absolutely should not be sending or obtaining documents such as police certs which will expire.
So – patience…
June 19, 2020 at 02:22
Thanks, hopefully there will be chance to get an interview as we are 2021EU37XXX, waiting for more info from Your side.
June 20, 2020 at 10:45
I don’t have to submit the documents until they ask for it? Or DS form and the documents should be sent together??
June 20, 2020 at 17:45
DS forst. Then documents later, either when they ask or you send without being asked.
July 1, 2020 at 11:46
Hi Brit, I have 2 questions.
1.Because of the proclamation and the fact that USCIS will fire the 70% of their workers, is there any chance that my 2021EU21*** case will be processed untill the September 2021, what do you think?
2.My mother is the main applicant, this year I’m turning 21 in november, is there gonna be any problem in a interview?
Thanks for the response
July 1, 2020 at 19:38
1. There is a long time between now and then. FAR too early to try and guess about that.
2. https://britsimonsays.com/child-turn-21-can-heshe-get-visa/
June 16, 2020 at 18:02
2021AF74XXX here. A long road to go I guess.
June 16, 2020 at 18:04
I am patiently waiting for the data to come out and for you to explain the holes to us.
June 16, 2020 at 21:59
Hi
Can the numbers of cases repeated
I mean, are there
AS2021001000
AF2021001000
EU2021001000
or no way?
June 16, 2020 at 23:01
I specifically answer that in the video above.
June 17, 2020 at 06:16
Good morning sir,
I did a certain analysis on the previous dv from dv 14 to dv 20 taking in consideration nb of selectees, highest case num, cut off for every year, I ended up to see the following result :
In Asia as the highest number case in dv 2021 is about 35000 taking in consideration the mentioned previous years with factors above I expect that the cut off for this year in Asia will be between 14000 and 29900 that is mean the minimum cut off will be14000 based on the worst result in dv 2015, and maximum cut off based on the best and generous result or scenario in dv 2016.
1_Sir it is a curiosity from me to do this so Pl could you tell me if it means sth what I did.
2_ is it logic
Thank you sir
June 17, 2020 at 17:03
No this is completely incorrect – and it seems like you have not paid attention to what I explained in the video above.
The case number is not important. The number of selectees (and cases) is what is important.
To be clear – Let’s say I took three years each with 5000 cases and then spread the cases in a different way each year, so that the cases were numbered in three different ways.
Year 1 had numbers from 1 to 5000 (no holes).
Year 2 had numbers from 1 to 10000 (50% density)
Year 3 had numbers from 1 to 20000 (25% case density)
I this three years is there any more risk for case number 20000 in year 3 compared to case number 10000 in year 2 or case number 5000 in year 1.
No of course not. They are the same. Which is why your assumptions are incorrect.
June 17, 2020 at 17:18
Thank you sir,
So number of cases and density are very important to be sure, as in general if number of cases increases and number of selectees decrease better to increase the cut off
Is it right?
June 17, 2020 at 19:05
I think my answer makes that clear. IN DV2020 the holes density was TOTALLY different to previous years and I believe we will see that again – so comparing previous years is pointless.
June 17, 2020 at 17:22
Hello again Brit,
1-So based on the above explanation it is completely clear. What is not clear is that does these holes affect the Visa Bulletin (the time of Interviews I mean)???
2-Which factors is important for a selectee for his/her interview schedule? The location of interview is important too?
3-This year KCC will ask for documents before scheduling the interview which is new process right?
4-The location of Interview is specified in ds-260, was it the same last years?
With kind regards and thanks for your time.
Amir
June 17, 2020 at 19:08
1. I have explained that in various articles and videos. They take embassy capacity and ready for scheduling cases into account and set the VB number according to that.
2. To some extent the location – but mostly just about number of selctees.
3. That has been the process for a while.
4. The location is chosen by KCC based on the current address.
June 17, 2020 at 21:50
I have three zeroes before my case number, AF, after it begins with 8
June 17, 2020 at 22:33
So that is an 80 THOUSANF range number – normally written 2021AF8XXXX
June 18, 2020 at 02:38
Hi Brit,
I have a little doubt here, what if a dv winner couple wants to leave their small child back at their present country and go to USA and plan to take baby later in some 2-3 years if they have not mentioned that baby in their initial DV entry( as the baby was born after DV entry) Can they do it? I mean can they take their child to USA once they receive green card? if yes how long do they have to wait? waiting for your reply please.
June 18, 2020 at 04:41
Yes, there is a FAQ entry that describes exactly that.
June 18, 2020 at 06:29
What is the biggest number have you seen in 2021EU?
June 18, 2020 at 18:55
50k ish
June 19, 2020 at 08:21
Biggest number in Turkey is 39xxx. Is it a positive or negative thing for Turkish winners?
June 19, 2020 at 14:26
If that is true (and it could be) then it would mean the country hit the max number of selectees at that point. THat is not in itself a positive or negative thing.
June 18, 2020 at 07:56
Good day Brit,
I got selected from Asia and having 32K case number. But noted that my husband had made a mistake on my name when he fill initial application. Basically , he has entered part of my surname as first name when apply. There is no other error and spellings are correct. Please advice what must I do when fill DS-260 and should I first let KCC about this mistake before filling DS-260.
I will appreciate your response and thank you in advance.
Regards,
June 18, 2020 at 19:27
When you complete the DS260s just make sure the names are accurate there.
June 19, 2020 at 05:24
Hi Brit, what is the highest number u have seen for AF?
June 19, 2020 at 14:17
85XXX
June 18, 2020 at 18:01
Hi Brit! Thank you for the explanation.
I have 2021SA6XX, so it’s a good one, right??
June 18, 2020 at 21:02
Yes
June 19, 2020 at 00:59
Hello Brit! I have some questions: I am living in Venezuela, but I am going to move to Germany in November for some months to study german. Please could you tell me if it is possible to have the interview in Germany? It is because my current residence as you know is in Venezuela and is the same I had written last year in the first form when I got into the diversity programme for the first time. What can I do in this case? Could I fill up the DS-260 form with my address in Venezuela or I have to wait to move to Germany to fill it?
Thank you very much for your patience.
June 19, 2020 at 01:12
If you want an interview in Germany then you might want to wait to submit. In order to decide you need to think about your case number.
June 19, 2020 at 01:18
Thank you very much for your answer! I will wait for sure.
June 19, 2020 at 04:37
Good morning Sir ,
1- I won the lottery 2021 , AS110XX , is it a good number?
2- I called my friend in USA ,he is a citizen ,to fill out the form I134 in case the consulate demands this kind of form to show it we will not be on public charge . We are four persons for this case .
Must my sponsor fill out four forms of I134 one for every member of my family or he must fill out one form I134 that includes all the family members.
Thank you Sir i appreciate your help ,
June 19, 2020 at 14:06
1. It’s fine.
2. One I-134
June 19, 2020 at 14:54
THANK YOU SIR
June 19, 2020 at 22:50
My wife who was born in African country received a Case No. 2021ASxxxxx and the state of chargeability as Saudi Arabia were we are living now, is that because all my children place of birth is Saudi Arabia, our that was due mistake committed during submitting the application.
June 19, 2020 at 23:17
Your mistake. Unless her spouse (you) were born in SA you will all be disqualified.
June 19, 2020 at 23:20
I got OC21XX.. is this high for Ocenia region?
June 20, 2020 at 03:10
Not too bad, we will know more in a few weeks.
June 19, 2020 at 23:57
Hi sir, thanks for all your very informative videos!
I have a case number AF58xxx. My passport will expire on October 2021 and I am wondering if it wise to start the process with that one or should I wait until I get a new passport. Because as I understand the passport should have at least 6 months duration after getting the visa.
Regard,
June 20, 2020 at 03:17
I would recommend waiting for a while until we can at least know selectee numbers.
June 20, 2020 at 08:42
Good morning sir , my case number is 2021AS110xx
I filled out my ds260 on 11 June 2021
1- is there any mean to know about the progress of my case online ?
2- how long will I wait to receive an email from kcc to submit the supporting documents .
3_ is there any reason to not process ds 260 from kcc if all the applications needed filled out and showed that (completed).
Thank you Sir in advance
June 20, 2020 at 17:36
1. No. There is no “progress” as such. You submit DS260, then documents, then wait for your number.
2. I don’t know. Patience.
3. No
June 20, 2020 at 15:17
Hello Brit,
What is the difference between form I-130 and I-134? for support of my uncle (living in US) which form should he fill and send to me?
Seconly, what do you think about case number 2021AS17XXX?
Is there limitation for the number of selectees for each country to get visa (regardless of the capacity of the closest embassy)? For example, if when in August 2020 all asian case numbers are current, would be any exception for certain countries which had had a lot of selectees before? (just if we imagine it would have happened)
Thanks a lot.
June 20, 2020 at 18:03
I-134 is an affidavit of support. That is what you want.
Number is OK
There is absolute cap of 7% of the global cap for any one country, but no quota specifically for each country.
June 20, 2020 at 17:58
Thank you Mr. Brit.
My case number is 2021AF31xxx, and it is in Egypt. I saw many times in the visa bullet number that they usually mention the range of Africa numbers excluding Egypt with other range. so please let me know what do you think about my case number.
Thank you,
June 20, 2020 at 20:19
It’s ok.
June 20, 2020 at 18:01
Good afternoon Sir ,
My case number is DV AS110xx , i submitted my Ds260 on 11 june .
1 – could i send the supporting documents to kcc before i receive an email from them ?
2- In which month do you expect my interview will take place?
THank you very much for your help in advance
June 20, 2020 at 18:03
SIR IT IS FOR DV 2021
June 20, 2020 at 20:20
1. You can, but I would wait a little if I were you.
2. 2021
June 20, 2020 at 21:00
Hy Brit.
Thank you for everything.
Please I am a dv 2021 selectee from AF75XXX. Please these are the questions bothering me with regards to the whole process;
1. Please do you have to fill the ds 5540 form for public charge with you to the day of interview.
I know that form is presented by people who have already been refused a visa under the public charge rule appearing for a next interview. My reason is that when filling the ds 260 you’re asked If you are likely to be a public charge and the answer is no so why submit ds 5540 with you to the embassy on your interview date?
Please I stand to be corrected on this with all due respect.
2. In other to prove not being a public charge; do you go with an affidavit of support from a u.s sponsor and with some personal and family statements?what about if you are a student, can u present parents assets too?
3. Please can you have a different person as a host in the U.S as well as a different person in the U.S as a sponsor ?
4. Please with all due respect what’s the highest case number you’ve heard from Africa?
5. Do I have a chance to be scheduled an interview and do you advice I submit my ds 260 now?
Thank you
June 20, 2020 at 21:28
1. You can be refused for public charge, so completing an 5540 and having an I-134 are sensible precautions.
2. https://britsimonsays.com/all-about-public-charge-affidavit-of-support-i-134/
3. Yes
4. 85XXX
5. My advice is to wait until we know more.
June 20, 2020 at 21:32
Thank you. God bless you
June 20, 2020 at 23:02
Hello Simon
I have a case number 2021AF69xxx
1: is this a high case number?
2: what advice can you give me?
3: if I meet in the filling of the DS260 that:
to) I have no sponsor
b) I have no address where they should bring my green card for the moment
WILL THEY GIVE ME THE VISA?
June 20, 2020 at 23:37
1. Yes
2. Don’t submit the DS260 yet and be patient.
3. You need an address in USA
June 20, 2020 at 23:43
My number is OC13XX and I submitted the DS260 immediately because I was worried we had to (the email implied we needed to get it in). Is that bad?
June 21, 2020 at 00:59
No – because your number is probably ok.
June 21, 2020 at 00:21
If you submit your DS260 and supporting documents, but then never get called to interview, is it considered that you were ‘refused’ a visa? To clarify, on future visa applications etc, do you need to say that you have been refused a visa in the past, if you never got called to interview, but submitted forms?
June 21, 2020 at 01:06
No – but you will have “declared” immigrant intent.
June 21, 2020 at 01:19
Okay so I don’t have to answer that question any differently because I would not have ever been refused a visa, it is just something they might see if they look up my passport etc?
June 21, 2020 at 10:34
Hi Brit,
My case number is AS00030K and I m originally from Sri Lanka though I work here in Botswana now. When I check lottery results it says ” Johannesburg” (Under Post). Please see my questions below;
1.Does it mean that I have to go to Johannesburg, South Africa for the interview?
2.Is there any possibility to request Sri Lanka as my interview place?
3.And please comment on my case number , Am I in risky zone ? Should I complete DS 260 now or wait?
Thank you very much and appreciate your responses.
June 21, 2020 at 19:07
1. You are interviewed in the embassy closest to where you live.
2. You can if you have a logical reason for doing so.
3. Yes the number is high. Wait.
June 21, 2020 at 11:44
Good morning sir,
1_Is it happened that kcc did not send an email to receive the supporting documents, may be by mistake or sometimes for some reasons, for example for high cases number.
2- what should we do in this case if we have a low case number.
June 21, 2020 at 19:23
1. Possibly.
2. Pay attention to your case. No need to wait to be asked for documents.
June 21, 2020 at 11:59
Good morning sir,
My son will be 21 on december 11 2020, i won the dv 2021 with case number As110xx.
1-should we do something such as sending a request to KCC asking if they can progress quickly my case to make the interview before my son reaches his 21st.
Thank you for your generous help.
June 21, 2020 at 19:34
1. Ha – well no you can’t do that, but you don’t need to – read the link below.
https://britsimonsays.com/child-turn-21-can-heshe-get-visa/
June 21, 2020 at 21:38
1)can they not schedule me for maintenance with such a number (2021AF69xxx)?
2) and should i wait until when for the ds260?
June 21, 2020 at 22:31
1. It is possible that some cases don’t get a chance, yes.
2. Wait for a month or two at least.
June 21, 2020 at 22:43
Hello Brit,
I have some questions in mind as follows:
1-What is the difference between form I-864 and I-134? both of them are called “Affidavit of Support”. I heard the former is for non-immigrant applicants while the latter is for immigrant applicants. could you please give information about that? would it be fine if my sponsor provides me with I-864?
2- how long it takes for KCC to ask for documents? (I submitted DS-260 on 11th of June)?
3-Is there any information about the number of selectees and holes now?
Thanks a lot for your time and help.
June 22, 2020 at 04:25
Good morning Sir ,
FIRST : when they do the first draw by region lets say for example for ASIA , they put all the cases per order of the draw from AS00000001 to AS the last case number.
SECOND : they chose from case 1 (AS00000001) till number (AS00015000) for example.here they implement on these chosen cases the software of fraud (bio metric , duplication, ……)they discover that the legal number of cases is 6000 cases with number of selectees of these cases 10000 with derivatives for example. Here they realise that they want more selectees so they add more cases from AS15001 to AS25000 and here they repeat the fraud software and they add more legal cases so they add more selectees for example the total number of cases becomes 8000 and number of selectees becomes 15000 (with derivatives) which is their goal and here they announce the result .
1 – Is this process correct SIR?
Thank you for your help .
June 22, 2020 at 17:44
I’m not sure what you are trying to point out. I explained the process above.
June 22, 2020 at 17:50
What I want to say, does they chose the number of cases one time?
June 22, 2020 at 21:20
Yes
June 22, 2020 at 08:20
Hi Brit
Will there be a second draw for dv2021?
June 22, 2020 at 17:53
I don’t know. Check again in November.
June 22, 2020 at 11:47
Hi Brit, is the case number 2021Af29xxx high or low?
1, What may be possible time for interview?
Thanks in advance.
June 22, 2020 at 19:09
Medium.
We will know better in a few weeks.
June 22, 2020 at 18:33
am Charles Owens Love from Ghana have case number AF747******* but have some issues involving surname and middle name my surname ought to be Owens Love but made a middle name Owens and surname Love when filling the DV lottery form which have made my surname Love Owens which my particulars bear the name Owens Love should I proceed filling DS 260 for interview
June 22, 2020 at 21:05
Ghana regularly denies cases – especially those that seem to be with people that can’t remember their own name or present fraudulent documents. So – decide if you want to proceed.
June 23, 2020 at 20:14
Hello Simon,
Thanks for explaining the case numbers and holes.
I haven’t submitted the 260 form yet… you suggested I should wait, but is there is a time limit for submitting? I don’t want to screw it up by waiting TOO long.
I’m sorry If that’s stated somewhere in your blog.. I haven’t seen it.
My case number from SA4XXX
June 23, 2020 at 21:41
You could wait for several months with no problem at all – and that means you could wait until we know how risky your case number actually is.
June 23, 2020 at 20:59
Hi sir
Is it possible you check the results for the first time you not selected and after few months you check again and be selected?
June 23, 2020 at 21:51
Possibly – check again in November.
June 24, 2020 at 01:00
Hi! I have a case number and ive already send the ds260 because i thought That time was important. What problems could appear in a future for the inmigration intent?
June 24, 2020 at 03:12
It can be a factor when you apply for non immigrant visas.
June 24, 2020 at 19:41
Ok thanks. 2 quiestions:
1. If i ask to unlock and then not submit until i see if my high numer has a chance? This will be like not having intended to apply? Or doesnt change anything.
2. I have a case numer SA41xx know that may be it is the most high in the region historically. There is a chance that the region can go current or im hopeless?
June 24, 2020 at 20:09
1. Doesn’t change anything.
2. Far too soon to know.
June 24, 2020 at 12:48
Hello Sir,
1).Is it that, for example, a country like Ghana applicants will have CNs between AF2XXX to AF3XXX?, and 2). that there are no other nationalities involved within this range?
Cheers!
June 24, 2020 at 19:36
No – it would NOT be like that.
June 24, 2020 at 13:39
Greetings Brit please I have a worry and i just sent a mail to you ,can you please check hope you don’t mind please
June 24, 2020 at 18:24
Good morning sir,
As I have read for some cases for dv 2021 they submitted their Ds260 and their documents and they are waiting for their interview.
1_ is it true, do you think?
2_ what do you suggest, should I send my supporting documents without receiving an email from kcc or I should wait?
my case number is AS110xx, I submitted my ds260 on 11 June 2020.
Thank you very much for your help Sir
June 24, 2020 at 20:20
1. Probably. They still have to wait regardless.
2. Your number will take some months anyway.
June 24, 2020 at 20:42

June 24, 2020 at 20:49
Okay thank you
June 24, 2020 at 20:58
Hi Sir.. please my name is Amidu Rufai. DV selectee for the FY2021. I have a case number of 2021AF5XXX. Please I would like to know if my case number is too high? Thanks.
June 24, 2020 at 22:10
It is a low number
June 24, 2020 at 21:09
Please Mr Brit, one more question so that means I should be accurate with the information of my father no matter what right?
June 24, 2020 at 22:11
You should be as honest and accurate as possible in everything.
June 25, 2020 at 13:50
Dear Mr. BritSimon, I have selected for ds2021. But during filling ds-260 i came to know that my spouse date of birth is different on Birth certificate and passport. I try to correct passport but it is taking more then month to process. My question is that can i submit ds-260 with DoB as per birth certificate with current passport information section. or wait month+ to get new passport with correct date of birth and new passport number. My case number is AS4XXX. Thank you for your advice in advance.

WASHINGTON: Democratic presidential candidate and former US vice president Joe Biden has said that he will lift the temporary suspension on H-1B visas, the most sought-after by Indian IT professionals, if he wins the November presidential elections.
The people on the company visa have built this country,” Biden said when asked what his administration will do in the first 100 days of his presidency.
The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise. The technology companies depend on it to hire tens of thousands of employees each year from countries like India and China.

Please i need clarifications to this.
Have you worked for or contributed to any political, social or charitable organization?
I’m a philantropist and I’ve been donating to the orphanages for quite several years now.
Should I please answer yes and provide evidence of pictures at the interview if scheduled?

To open the ds260 you will use the incorrect DOB. Try again and pay careful attention to what you enter.
