Hello Brit.
I just got my visa back. However I have noticed that there is an error on the paper which is stuck on the sealed envelope (immigrant data summary). They reversed my city of birth and my city of residence (one for the other) but it is in the same country. Is that bad? Is it necessary to contact the consulate for correction? My visa was printed on September 30.
Thank you
October 16, 2020 at 21:43
It does not need correcting.
October 16, 2020 at 05:02
I am not sure if my comments are posted here because i do not see them on the blog, i am just writing again just in case.
I am trying to submit my Ds 260 application without success. When i click on the “sign and submit” button, the same page just returns with the red marker on the CASE NUMBER field. I am sure i entered the case number correctly. Is there a problem with the website I’m not aware of? What could be the problem? Should I worried?
October 16, 2020 at 21:28
OK – your second post gives a bit more detail. Read the tips on the article linked below.

October 16, 2020 at 04:55
I am unable to submit my Ds 260 form for the 2021 DV. Is there a technical problem? What can I do?
October 16, 2020 at 21:26
You haven’t said enough (or anything actually) about what problem you are having. Explain clearly to get an answer.

My case no is AS12*** from Nepal. Is there is any possibility for visa or this is high in rank??
October 15, 2020 at 02:14
DV2021? I haven’t heard any case number of that range in Nepal.
October 14, 2020 at 22:01
Hello BritSimon ! How are you doing? Thanks for your huge help throughout the years. I am a dv2020 winner with CN264 from Albania and a non-planitiff. I would like to ask you what are my chances to get an interview if KCC processes first priority planitiffs (If they win the case). Best Regards!
October 15, 2020 at 00:15
I think they will give preference by case number order, but also readiness for interview and by which embassies are able to process cases. But in any case – it’s too early to predict.
October 14, 2020 at 22:00
I have issue with submitting dv lotto application form, i tried 2,3 times i got error messages after click submitting page. image size around 230 kb, do you have any solution for this problem?
October 14, 2020 at 23:53
You have to complete the entry faster, on a good internet connection, and perhaps try a different browser or PC.
October 15, 2020 at 01:20
do you have any special tools for checking photos is that correct or not?
October 15, 2020 at 02:15
No – just common sense and the instructions.
October 15, 2020 at 08:36
Hi Mr.Britsimon,
I take this time to extend gratitude to you and your entire team for our success.
I read the IV Ban case FAQ.pdf?dl=0 and was well understood, but have a question!
1. Want to know when will this lawsuit start
2. Can you be specific of the results date of this lawsuit, though it was said in few days or weeks?
October 15, 2020 at 22:47
1. I assume you are talking about the new lawsuit – I think it closes today and they plan to file in the next week to 10 days.
2. They hope to get a decision in December.
October 15, 2020 at 23:29
God bless you and thanks for the clarification.
October 14, 2020 at 19:17
Hello,
I have dv2020 visa, can i travel to USA IN January if Joa Biden win the election ?
Thank you in advance
October 14, 2020 at 23:42
Probably – wait and see.
October 14, 2020 at 10:04
Hi Mr Brit, just want to appreciate you for your tireless efforts on our behalf.
Thank you.
October 14, 2020 at 15:54

October 14, 2020 at 06:00
Dear Brit Simon

3.when will be the deadline for this lawsuit
October 14, 2020 at 15:52
1. I don’t know.
2. I believe it is one fee per family.
3. I think its tomorrow.
October 14, 2020 at 04:32
Dear Brit Simon,
I heard from someone that it is possible apply for DV 2022 even for minor children( for example 11 years old ) who have foreign passport. Is it true?
Thank you in advance
October 14, 2020 at 15:45
Are you saying as a principal applicant. No of course that is not true.
October 14, 2020 at 04:01
Dear Mr Brit,
My case number is 2020AS17***
My interview was scheduled on 22nd September 2020 at 10.00 a.m. On the day of the interview ,the verification officer requested to submit the IRS Transcripts for the most recent tax year from my wife’s aunt – US sponsor together with the medical reports. Accordingly as requested, IRS Transcripts were obtained and submitted on the same day (September 22nd )and the medical reports were handed over on 24th September. At the end of the interview, the visa officer informed us that they will proceed with our case once the medical reports are also received. Our Interview went smoothly and we submitted all the requested documents. The submitted documents are true and genuine. However up to now we still see our visa status as “Refused” online .
I contacted the US embassy on 28th,29th and 30th continuously and all what they said was that the embassy will contact me after the completion of visa processing. I contacted them again on 01st October and they mentioned that the visa has not been printed. When I asked for the reason to deny my visa , the call center agent mentioned that the visa officer had not informed the reason yet but soon will get in touch with us.
I sent several e-mails asking for the reason to refuse and whether they require any further documents, which we could definitely submit without any delay just as we did during the entire visa process. Until now , no call from the embassy or reply for the emails sent by me. Our passports and other original documents are still with the embassy.
What should I do sir? Im confused and still wondering what really went wrong as we submitted all requested documents timely and genuinely. Seek your valuable opinion for my current situation.
October 14, 2020 at 15:42
I don’t know what went wrong – they may have found an additional concern, and given the late time there was no time to resolve it. So – if processing restarts because of the lawsuit then you may get a chance, but otherwise there is nothing else you can do.
October 14, 2020 at 16:36
thank you for your prompt response sir.
October 13, 2020 at 17:41
Hello Brit!
I have been interviewing since September 29 and have been approved(DV2020). The CO said he will contact me but so far the consulate still has not contacted me to come and collect my passport! Is this normal? Thank you
October 13, 2020 at 21:27
It’s normal in your case. Other than that, no.
October 13, 2020 at 22:40
I will therefore continue to wait. thank you
October 13, 2020 at 17:00
i am a dv winner of 2021. should i participate in this plaintiff? is it authentic? pls, make us clear.

Did you read the FAQ or watch the video?
October 13, 2020 at 16:41

Is there a deadline in order to participate in the new lawsuit, can we wait until November?

October 13, 2020 at 15:51
Hello,Brit!
I hope you are doing well.
I am DV2020 winner CN : EU228**… is that a big case number or have a little chance?
Should i join Siskind lawsuit if i have no visa?
Thank you
October 13, 2020 at 17:29
For DV2020 that is not a bad number, but we don’t know whether we will win the remaining lawsuit or how the 9095 will be distributed if we do. It is likely to be a matter of your case status as well as your number.
October 13, 2020 at 19:46
Dear Mr. Brit can you please send me your email address.
October 13, 2020 at 22:09
I prefer to answer questions here.
October 13, 2020 at 10:12
Hi Brit, I’m a DV 2021 winner with relatively high case number (AS259XX). I’m considering joining the new lawsuit(Joseph,Siskind & Kuck) as plaintiff but wanted to first ask for your advice.
1)What happens if we won this case but my number never became current?
2) If you were in my place, would you join the lawsuit?
Thanks.
October 13, 2020 at 13:30
1. Nothing. You can’t proceed no matter what lawsuit you are on.
2. I can’t answer that, because I am not in your place. $1000 might mean more to you than it does to me.
October 13, 2020 at 21:18
Then help me please understand how can I benifit from this suite. I thought the main issue of having a high case number is that there is chance of not being current! I already read the FAQ they sent but couldn’t understand how DV2021 can benifit from this suite.
Thanks.
October 13, 2020 at 22:15
Their theory is that high case numbers are MORE at risk with less time to process. That will be particularly true if the ban is extended.
October 17, 2020 at 14:42
Thanks. I joined the suit BTW.
October 13, 2020 at 05:54
Hi birt
I’m dv lottery winner 2020 my case number AF33k is hope can get Visa or not? Thank you for your endless potential
October 13, 2020 at 13:20
I can’t predict what will happen or who will get a visa.
October 13, 2020 at 05:51
now we are expecting to travel in january. do you think we can book plane tickets now for a january trip to maryland?
October 13, 2020 at 13:19
Yes- although personally I would wait and see what happens in the election.
If Trump wins he might extend the ban.
If Trump loses, he might extend the ban on January 1 but Biden would revoke the ban shortly after taking power on Jan 20th.
The polls lean heavily toward Biden winning.
October 31, 2020 at 09:08
So what would be your travel plan in both scenarios (Trump wins vs. Biden wins)?
October 31, 2020 at 14:45
For now I would just wait. It’s a few days.
October 13, 2020 at 05:44
hello simon really thank you for all that you do for us the winners of the dv you are for a lot in obtaining my family’s visa i followed your advice blindly and it was successful i passed the interview on the 28th septempbre and I withdrew my visa and that of my family members at the Yaoundé embassy on October 2. as a reminder: I am the one writing to you since May 2019. my wife and i celebrated our wedding on july 20, 2019 after the lottery results and she already had a 9 year old child when i met her i declared my wife’s daughter in my ds260 as my child and my woman also declared her child in her ds260 but we did not request a visa for her (she will come to the united states later to join us). my wife finally gave birth to my son on July 14 after his birth I immediately made his passport and birth certificate. I did the medical examination without having received the 2nl on September 21 and I received the 2nl only on the evening of September 21 and the results were released on Saturday September 26 and I went to the embassy with all my documents at complete to pass my interview to apply for 3 visas (my wife; my son and myself) really BRITSIMONSAYS God is GOD! BUT YOU! YOU ARE THE ANGEL OF GOD SENT TO SAVE US! it went very well at the embassy the consul was nice he even asked us why we did not come with my wife’s daughter for the interview. when coming to the embassy I had not filled in my son’s ds260 so he unlocked my ds because I am the main winner and he left me some time to update my ds260 to introduce my child and fill up his d260 but he didn’t unlock my wife’s by telling me “I’m the main winner, no need to do anything since it was getting really late and we didn’t want to sleep in PA. short just to tell you that it went very well I will write thereafter “MY STORY A LA DV” to help people who visit your site really glory to GOD and to you BRITSIMONSAYS you are magnificent that GOD bless you with advantages !!
October 13, 2020 at 13:17
Awedome – I’m glad it worked out for you!
October 13, 2020 at 18:48
Merci
October 12, 2020 at 15:19
Hi Brit;
am DV2020 winner with cs number 2020AF14***.My police certificate from third country requires renewable upon repayment again. Would you kindly let me know if after lawsuit final decision, I have chance to be interviewed? my case is at NVC waiting for interview
i want to request new police certificate and other legal documents in advance.
Thank you
October 13, 2020 at 03:01
I can’t be certain.
October 12, 2020 at 00:23
hello my dear brit your opinion please can people who have passed their visa make a ticket reservation for the month of january 2021 if they want?
October 12, 2020 at 22:41
Yes – but obviously there is some risk about that. I would personally wait for the election before booking a ticket.
October 11, 2020 at 17:45
Hello BritSimon! I am a Dv2021 winner.
How can a winner be a member of the Plaintiff and aila group? Does it involves any payment?
October 12, 2020 at 21:36
There is a new lawsuit starting if you are interested.

October 11, 2020 at 15:15
Hello simon
Here in Nepal people are talking about the lawsuit that greg siskind’s team are going to file. Can DV2020 winners who didn’t get their interview before 30th of September join this one ?
I am not a plaintiff in any ongoing lawsuit. My interview was scheduled on 8th of april and cancelled. Didn’t get rescheduled even after sep 4th court order..Is it a good idea to take part in other lawsuit or should I wait for the final verdict on Gomez case.
Waiting for your suggestion
Thank you
October 12, 2020 at 21:30
It is really your decision. I have recorded some thoughts here:

October 10, 2020 at 19:48
Hi brits, I’m dv 2021 winner with case number af52ks, from the way things are going with reference to dv 2020, I am worried as to how the 2021 cases will be handled. With this regard, I wish to ask if that my number is too high for processing or not.
October 10, 2020 at 20:09
All you can do is wait and see.
October 10, 2020 at 19:38
Hey Brit, I am 2021 dv winner. My case number is 48k. I am not sure whether I will be interviewed can i apply for dv 2022 without being disqualified?
October 10, 2020 at 15:58
If a married couple won DV-2020 and got their visa in September 2020 with restrictions 10014 and 9993 and can’t travel because of these restrictions then when they apply for DV-2022 must they list their spouse as an LPR or not?
October 10, 2020 at 19:59
Even though they have visas, they are NOT LPRs yet.
October 10, 2020 at 15:54
my dearest Brit, I am writing to let you know I picked up my passport yesterday with a visa on it. It was an unbelievable feeling. I would like to thank you to the moon and back. This past year your website has been like a home for me.
I like your short but sharp comments. You are our angel, I love you so much ♥ May all these good things you’ve done to us come back to you and your family.
Now I can see the journey is not over. Can you give updates on what options visa holders have at the moment? Just wait and see, or perhaps join the litigation by Kuck? Do you have any details?
October 10, 2020 at 19:58
Plan to travel in January.

Hello dear brit. Is it possible for a person holding a DV visa for this Year to travel, has the ban been lifted?
October 10, 2020 at 19:34
No
October 10, 2020 at 07:01
Hi birt
I’m dv lottery winner 2020 my case number AS283** is hope can get Visa or not?
October 10, 2020 at 19:22
It’s a high number, with several factors that will affect the process this year. All you can do is wait and see.
October 10, 2020 at 02:47
Hi Brit,
9095 reserved visa issue date should Sep 30th, 2020, right? So it has 6 months validity period. So if our case is not resolved by March 2021, Is that possible to re-issue the visas or those visas will be void?
Thank you
October 10, 2020 at 18:49
WE cannot be certain what issue date they will use, or what validity rules will be used. However, it is possible that re-issuances will not be possible, so yes – plan to enter before the expiry date.
October 11, 2020 at 04:44
Thanks Brit,
But I am worrying if the Lawsuit will get the final Judgement before March or After. Because On twitter lawyers are having various assumptions and predictions. For example, Curtis was saying 3-6 months. ckuck was saying most probably end of the December or January 2021.
Waiting is not a problem for me. But I am just worried because of the issue date/expiry etc. If those visas expired before even processed, then all the hard work we put in will go in vain.
Also I read the motions and replies.9095 expiry/ validity period never has been mentioned anywhere. I hope Judge is aware of this issue or at least if someone point this out to him, then he may consider it and give the final order before Feb 2021.
Since the deadline is cannot extended and those 9095 visas were carried over from the 2020 fiscal year, they have to use the September 30th 2020 as the issue date I believe. I asked this doubt on twitter but no certain replies. If you have a chance to speak to any lawyers, please talk to them regarding this.
Thanks again.
October 11, 2020 at 13:13
You are asking questions that no one can answer. Just wait.
October 9, 2020 at 20:26
Hi Simon, just watched your youtube live regarding the ongoing lawsuits and I have a question – you said you can’t see the harm done by delaying the final decision in Gomez, but what about all of us who were issued visas in September but may expire before the PP ends, if extended? Say the appeal fails, if the Gomez case is delayed until later in 2021 then we might lose our chance in getting an order from judge Mehta to re-issue those visas, which is one of the things asked by the lawyers.
October 9, 2020 at 22:30
The point was to fight exactly that, and to do that as quickly as possible.
October 9, 2020 at 11:03
Hi Simon,
I would like to thank you for your very useful resource for migration.
Can I ask you a question about DV program, please? May be it will be more clear for me.
I am reading a lot of news and articles about the current situation, but still not sure if I understand the current state correctly.
I am the winner of DV 2020EU22K and I got a confirmation letter that all my documents are approved and I should wait for next information about the interview date.
My questions is – should I still wait for some additional mails regarding DV2020 or do you
suggest to apply new form for lottery in 2022?
Thanks in advance for your answer
October 9, 2020 at 20:34
You can apply for DV2022 in any case.
As for the DV2020 case, you MIGHT get a chance to process later – we have to wait for some weeks for the lawsuit.
October 11, 2020 at 20:43
Hello!
Did the KCC save somehow the DV2020 winners database or documents or ds-260 forms? Is it possible that once the deadline passed, KCC deleted all the files ori docs regarding the selectees? If they don’t have these infos about DV2020 winner, where will they choose the 9095 visas from?
Thanks!
October 12, 2020 at 21:52
I don’t think they will have deleted that information.
October 9, 2020 at 08:59
Hi Simon, I am going to apply for DV lotery. what is rhe best chance to apply? single or with family.
please answer it is very important. thanks alot
October 9, 2020 at 20:27
The draw is random – so the chance of selection is identical. However, if you are married or have children and you leave those family derivatives off your application you are 100% certain to be disqualified later.

Hi Brit
Can a DV 2020 winner play the DV 2022 lottery program for fear of not been interviewed and loosing a second chance to get his/her visa?
Why does my status check on the status check page show time out?does it mean I should forget about winning DV 2020?
Why can’t I get my information on the CEAC page? The last time I did my case showed ready but now it isn’t loading or it shows” your search did not return any data”
October 8, 2020 at 17:11
I’m a dv2020 winner, with 3 derivatives (wife and 2 kids). Now my wife jand I ust had a new baby. My question now, Brits, is how should i proceed for the baby, as we still have a chance on the 9,095 visas.
My case is at the Embassy in Kinshasa (DR Congo). Should I unlock my DS-260 or wait to get to the Embassy, in case we make it, to declare the baby as derivative. Thank you
October 8, 2020 at 22:55
Wait and see what happens, and then discuss with the embassy if you get scheduled for an interview. Make sure you have the child’s birth cert, passport and so on.
October 9, 2020 at 01:23
Thanks a lot for your time.
October 8, 2020 at 02:58
Dear brit,
Can I use the same dv photo which I used in dv2021 ( in which I won ). Will that badly impact?
October 8, 2020 at 16:44
Why not follow the instructions which say to NOT do that?
October 7, 2020 at 19:38
Hello please can a DV lottery winner 2021 play the DV 2022??

It’s in the FAQ!
October 7, 2020 at 10:46
Mr Brit
I am already registered to the Gomez case lawsuit and I am one of 1000 selectees in Gomez Case. I’m DV 2020 winner.
1. Am I considered as a plantiff in Gomez case. I just registerd without any fees . (It was in your blog for at least 24 hours ).
2.Is there currently any Lawsuit filing by Charles Kuck and his team of lawyers again with fees. This is is to get prioritized in allocating 9095 visa .
October 7, 2020 at 16:14
Thanks dear for your prompt attention
October 7, 2020 at 17:35
1. It doesn’t matter. You are covered by the case because EVERYONE is covered.
2. I will be describing other lawsuits over the next couple of days.
October 7, 2020 at 07:59
Please can one unlock his or her Ds 260 twice because i want to make some changes but this is the reply i received….
Thank you for your inquiry.
Please provide an explanation as to why the DS-260(s) need(s) to be unlocked. Once KCC has received this explanation, we can proceed to unlock the requested DS-260(s).
In order for the Kentucky Consular Center to assist with inquiries regarding a specific Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant’s full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center does not have the authority to tell you whether or not your specific case will be disqualified. Only a consular officer can do that at the time of your visa interview. Do not send any paper documents to the Kentucky Consular Center.
For additional information, please refer to the following websites:

Hi Brit
I posted a question some time ago but I haven’t received any answer from you
I am a DV 2020 winner and when I checked my status it shows number not found last I checked my status on the CEAC page it showed ready ( I am in group 3). So I don’t know what is wrong has my case been closed or what is the problem?

DV2020 is over as far as the government is concerned. So its not surprising if they did something for the data. But it doesn’t create any problem, so relax.

Hi Brit
Thanks for the reply
Is my status not showing a bad sign for me?
So can I play the 2022 DV lottery to be on a safe side?

I already answered the first question. You can enter DV2022. Don’t ask “am I sure”.
