The man who did the application for her said that he send her 7 questions answers on the same day but her case was never updated
1. Is that a normal case for not having any update or do you think that he cheated them?
And never send the email to the embassy !!
They don’t know him other than he does application services and he filled their application under his email
2. Can she send the answers again using her email which is not registered in the winning case !!

I was interviewed on 20th Aug. At the time CO requested us to bring the new sponsor’s IRS & I 134. i submited that docs on 22nd Aug. Still my case is AP. I called embassy several times. They said same answer that my file with the officer. 2019 dv programme closes in 8 days.Is there any chances to get visa?

I have a case that I want to discuss with you with a few questions.
My cousin was interviewed on the 2nd September for his case number AF466** . the visa officer told him that he was awarded the visa, UNFOTUNATELY the next day after the interview, the embassy called him and informed him that he was placed in ADMINISTRATION PROCESSING (AP)
they asked him to fill the 7 questions and send the reply asap. He did that on the same day. On the 5th of September, his case was updated, and it was updated again on the 15th. Again with the same AP:( .
knowing that the 2019 is about to finish in 13 days; I have a couple of questions here
1. what are his chances of him getting a visa
2. will the fact that he was told that the visa was approved and then changed to AP give him a better standing that the ppl who were AP from the start ?
3. have you done visa scraping recently to know the number of available visa for the program ?
4. any reason of why the visa officer changed his mind?
5. and my last question is from the previous years, does all AP cases turned issued before the DV year closes or some ppl lose their chances in the VISA.
Appreciate your soonest feedback as he is in a state of depression.

I have a couple of doubts regarding what happens after the interview at the embassy. If my visa gets issued, I will have up to 6 months to enter the US. My questions are the following:
1) If I enter the US within the 6 months do I become “Permanent Resident” once crossed the border or when I receive the green card itself at the American address I provided?
2) If I enter the US after the 6 months visa expiration date what happens? I suppose I would lose the right for the green card, right? In this case would I be able to enter anyway the US with a tourist visa? Or even to apply again in the future for other visas or again for the green card?

Hi, thanks for all you are doing in this forum, as formal expertise in the matter is very scarce outside of USCIS (sometimes it seams that even inside one).
Given your vast experience in the matter I would appreciate your opinion on my case.
I am on f-1 visa, OPT, now and plan to extend that to STEM OPT in January 2020, while my current employer is committed to apply for H1-B at about the same time.
Meanwhile my wife, F-2 visa holder, has been selected in DV2020 with a CN EU51XXX.
We have not filed DS260 yet as I am afraid that would form an immigration intent and may affect OPT extension procedure. However we plan to do so as early as extension is granted to follow the AOS path.
My question is, in your opinion, how risky it is to gamble with AOS (given the case number, timeline) and potentially jeopardize H1-B, and current F1 status, as I would have to bounce back in either of those in case AOS fails or get denied?
Based on your experience in this situation what are the risks and downsides of the following sequence of actions in my case:
1) Apply for OPT extension (October 2019),
2) Get extension (January, 2020),
3) Apply for H1-B (April 2020),
4) Submit DV2020 selectee DS260 (April 2020),
5) Apply for AOS (as number becomes current, but not later than end of May 2020, since 4 month review process)

You’re a bit confused about some things. Step 4 is not strictly necessary. I do recommend AOS cases file the DS260, but it can certainly wait.
5. In step 5 you say “not later than end of May”. Well if you are not current by that time, you can’t file. There is no “4 month” timeline for review. You can file early, but the case number has to have appeared in the VB. You will have to wait and have your I-485 ready to go as you see your number getting close. You could then pay your AOS DV fee, and file. DV cases can move fast, since FOs know the urgency.

I had DV2019 interview last week and during the interview, the officer congratulated me and told that Visa Approved and gave a letter to collect the passport next week.
By the time I go to the interview, the status was READY
After 2 days time after the interview status now changed to ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING
Is this normal or am I at a risk of something?

I have my interview at the consulate in Switzerland scheduled in 2 weeks from now, but unfortunately I am not able to attend the interview on that day. My questions are:

1. Possible, yes – but there is some risk that they don’t schedule it when you want – and then you could lose your chance. .
2. You would discuss with the embassy.
3. Yes that is risky. Personally, I would not do that.

I would like to inform you that finally I got my visa prior the end of the program. I was lucky that the consular took 3 working days to process my visa upon receiving the medical report and visa still available at that time.
My medical report was being delayed, due to the pending results for my sputum culture tests, which took 8 weeks to complete, in order to rule out that I was free from TB infection. So for those who had an lung infection before and with an unclear X-ray, will likely to be required for such tests and leading to delay for the report.
Meanwhile I would like to thank you for the valuable information that you put up on internet, may it be your blog or you tube for the DV visas, which were extremely helpful and comprehensible, that definitely helping me in getting the visa.

I just read the Visa Bulletin September 2019 a moment ago and it enclosed a statement saying that “DV visa availability through the very end of FY-2019 cannot be taken for granted. Numbers could be exhausted prior to September 30.” Could it meant that the DV visa could still be exhausted prior the end of the program, especially for those in the end of the month. I am very concerned, because my medical report would only be ready on September 25 and deliver directly to embassy. At first, I was relieved after watching your DV-2019 final days earlier, saying that visa would not be run out for all regions. But now I am worry after reading the Bulletin. I am in the region of Asia. Do you think my case would be proceed on the 25 or visa might be run out by then?
Please advise.

Globally, visas won’t run out – but some countries could reach cap. Egypt is one such country, and Nepal might also hit the capo. BUT was your interview scheduled for September or an earlier month? If it was in September then the visa is ALREADY allocated to your case. But if it was in an earlier month, the visa was allocated for that month only and the embassy would have to obtain a new visa allocation from KCC. Whilst visas might not run out – there is still a very short time for that request to be made.

When we receive I-134 from a U.S. person, we submit the form and supporting documents to Embassy during the interview.
1. What will happen, if that person does not meet the required capacity OR some how black-listed for some reason? (Because we do not know the exact internal details of the person who submit I-134, even we know them on regular basis)
2. Is there any way that we can cross check or verify the details, prior to submit to Embassy?

during last month, in the Travel.state.gov website, they have mentioned about the SPONSOR related comment. In that they said, “personal assets” or “job offer” or “i-134”.
But seems like that section has been modified or removed from the website.

Is it normal for the main applicant reference ( 2019AF28142 01 NBO ) to show issued while the derivative ( 2019AF28142 02 NBO) who is me, his wife to still show AP on CEAC 3 days after the interview and the CO congratulated us both and hasn’t not requested any additional document since ?
Further to that the pop up box on CEAC says that your visa hasn’t been issued and you will be notified on the collection process based on the instructions of your place of interview

My interview was on mid June but I completed medical on July 30. My passport was kept with the CO since my interview date. Ceac page reported READY until July 30, then AP until August 05 and now when I just checked ceac page I found that my status is changed to ISSUED.

I read the FAQ link for I-134
Still I need to confirm this from you
According to FAQ & state website, they ask to bring the I-134 & supporting Docs to the interview. **BUT** inside the “I-134 Instruction PDF”, it says “Where to File”. In that section, it gives a link. that link does not guide properly. That was my confusion.

Hi Brit, on my DS260 I wrote that I’ve to the US 2 times, but since I completed the form I’ve traveled once more. My interview is scheduled for 18th of September and when I received the email from the embassy they advised I review the DS 260 and ask them to unlock if necessary. By the way, given the limited time before the end of the month I strongly suggest you learn about CSPA and print out the information I provide in the link I gave for the interview. Embassies and COs often don’t understand the rule as well as they should – so giving them referenced guidance on how they should apply the rule may be critical to make sure you are approved before the end of the year.
