The August Visa Bulletin has been published, with no change from the previous bulletin – all regions current, no country exceptions. This is for the interviews that should in theory be scheduled in September – but of course we have the ban and some embassies still closed. So – nothing really noteworthy about this VB.
I was hoping we would see the DV2021 numbers in this VB, but they aren’t there, it looks like we will have to wait another month for that. Not a total surprise given the delayed start this year (Results in June instead of May).
July 20, 2020 at 15:09
Thank you for update
July 20, 2020 at 15:14
How to check VB
July 20, 2020 at 20:49
July 20, 2020 at 15:14
I pray they send 2nls for March this end of July now that no more VB
July 20, 2020 at 15:16
Thank you Mr Brit.
Before all case became CURRENT, the normal visa bulletin has been stopped in Mai.
And the interview scheduling stopped too from the April visa bulletin.
Please, if the AİLA lawsuit wins ( we hope so ),
1-) The NVC will schedule at first those who their case numbers were current in APRİL
2-) Or they will just mix it from April’s visa bulletin to August’s visa bulletin???
Not: My case number AF36XXX was current in APril but i didn’t get my interview letter because of the embassies have been closed. But i got the OK of all documents from the KCC in february.
Actually my case is current at the National Visa Center ( NVC )
Thank you for your lovely feeback.
God bless you!!
July 20, 2020 at 20:50
We don’t know what they will do, obviously time is very short.
July 20, 2020 at 15:46
Yes, like you said, nothing noteworthy about this VB.
July 20, 2020 at 16:38
Dear God, please make a miracle happen. Amen.
July 20, 2020 at 17:01
God is for us and nobody is against us DV 2020. We shall be living testimonies.

How far is the Curtis morisson lawsuit, filed on the 8/7/2020?
July 20, 2020 at 20:53
July 20, 2020 at 17:57
Anyway Trump will completly ban all DV lottery for the next couple of week with the merit based immigration. The Trump administration is working on it. So bye the dv2020 and dv2021 winners. I hope the best for everyone
July 20, 2020 at 20:54
You clearly don’t understand the lawmaking process in the USA. But don’t feel embarrassed, our president has no idea about it either.
July 21, 2020 at 22:36
Good one! 😀
Made my day!
July 20, 2020 at 22:48
Are you saying this because you were not selected? You could also be in their shoes tomorrow so wish the selectees well my brother.
July 20, 2020 at 20:14
Still waiting on the final DV2019 stats. Do you know anything about that? Thanks
July 20, 2020 at 22:09
What are you waiting for? And why?
July 21, 2020 at 02:06
I won the lottery that year, and I am now in the USA. I am curious to see the final numbers for every country and so on, like they have for previous years: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/diversity-visa-program-entry/diversity-visa-program-statistics.html
My perception is that, for 2019, is taking way longer than for previous years, but I thought maybe you would have more information about that.
July 21, 2020 at 17:45
Well your perception is odd since the visas issued latest number shown there is 2017. They tend to update three years at a time, so that link won’t have new issuances for some time.
However, you can also look for the yearbooks, the 2019 one is not available yet.
July 20, 2020 at 20:53
May Allah in his mercy help us and our lovelies families. For a better live in a country where we are are all dream to concrete Allah please help us !!!

July 21, 2020 at 09:55
its july 21….those who doesnt get second letter ….its means end of hope…court take more time…
July 21, 2020 at 15:39
1) With certain embassies open for visa processing and let’s say the ban will be challenged successfully in August. How likely is it that KCC will still send 2NLs in August for the remaining time till sept. 30?
2) Also being part of Curtis Morrison’s case are we still depended on KCC for them to send us 2NLs?
July 22, 2020 at 00:30
1. I don’t know Walt. We have to wait and see.
July 21, 2020 at 18:45
When you read the dv lottery procedure, it is mentioned that the appointment at the embassy must be made between 6 and 4 weeks from the date of the interview and since we are all current Kcc had told me that it will depend on our embassies but anyone with the full file will be scheduled for the interview if the embassy is open.
So everyone who received this notification like me can still have hope, I received this email on March 18th.
“Congratulations! Our records indicate that you have submitted all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.”
July 21, 2020 at 19:34
Well, I clearly submitted all required documents last year in November and never received the confirmation mail. KCC is at their best confusion. They should have had processed according to the order of documents received. Pretty sure they knew in advance that all regions would go CURRENT at some point. I just hope something unexpectedly good happens.
July 21, 2020 at 21:24
I did submit my documents last year in October, but I received the documents confirmation msg on the 24th of Jun (4weeks ago)
July 22, 2020 at 02:34
Could You please tell me Your CN No?
THANX A LOT
July 22, 2020 at 15:25
July 21, 2020 at 22:20
if it gives you or anyone any information/hope at this desperate time, here’s my timeline of my case flow. I am 2020EU28k.
End of January: Submitted DS-260 and filed all the bunch of my docs in 3 separate emails for me and my 2 derivatives (as it was allowed in the procedure) all in *.pdf. Got 3 auto-replies that docs have been received and “please allow KCC 3-6 weeks to process them”
Mid-March: 1st call to KCC : 6 weeks after receiving auto-replies.
Answer: “You need to still to wait, you are not current yet, cannot tell you anything” (kinda made sence).
April 22: Trumps 60 day ban comes into force
May 4, 2nd call to KCC:
Answer: “Your DS-260 is processed, but cannot tell you about the docs, since it is the other KCC dept.”
On the req to connect with them they said “that dept has no public inquiry. So you just need to wait.”
June 12: Received the KCC email stating “After reviewing your documents, KCC has determined that you have not sent the required documents for review. Please review the required documents listed below and verify that you have submitted all required documents.”
I am completely sure all my docs was 100% legible, who knows, maybe they couldn’t open my *.pdf’s or they lost my 3 e-mails.
So I call KCC 3rd time that exact day:
Answer: “missing or illegible ALL of my documents”
So what did was that very same day I did reduce the quality of all my docs and sent them all in 1 email and all in *.jpeg this time. Got auto-reply.
June 16: Got the congratulations email that all my docs are fine and ready to be scheduled for the interview.
June 22: Trumps second ban comes into force
After june 22: desparate times…
July 21, 2020 at 22:38
See… I never called KCC. But I guess either ways my documents must have been processed successfully in their system. I can only hope.
July 21, 2020 at 23:22
Dior, at the moment maybe doesn’t make sense any more, but never be passive and never skimp some €€ for what’s important. I mean if you need info from KCC and if that really matters to you, just call them. No matter how-long-distance-call it is. Money comes and goes, dont lose out on fulfilling whatever you want in your life.
July 22, 2020 at 10:29
The mail that sending as a google drive is not valid. Normally 25MB-30MB size mail is sent as a google drive. Although the KCC tell max size of the mail is 30MB, 25MB-30MB mail goes as a google drive.
July 22, 2020 at 10:55
Well this is why I sent them in 3(!) emails, each less than 25MB in attachment size to avoid uploading them to google drive. But they lost or couldn’t read them.
After such experience in order to play it safe I certainly believe that when possible need to avoid sending docs in separate emails and also it is much better to send them in .jpeg format which can be opened on any system whereas pdfs has different standard versions and who knows if software they are using can open all of the pdf versions.
July 21, 2020 at 23:42
As far as I can tell, they seem to have lost some number of documents around October/November. That is why I had been warning people to check what they had sent, and even send to the normal KCC email address. But, there was no perfect answer, considering the disorganized process and two department thing.
July 21, 2020 at 23:39
Well, time is a factor. It may not be possible to make everyone happy.
July 21, 2020 at 19:59
Dear @Dior , I can understand your frustration but did you have a notification for receipt after sending your documents? There was a specific procedure that had to be followed and also an email address other than Kcc, in addition, they process the files according to the selection rank so even if you fill out the documents early, they will first process the numbers before yours. If Aila manages to do us justice, contact Kcc immediately to find out more about your case.
Good luck for all of us.
July 21, 2020 at 20:14
Yes, I got the exact reply as everyone else. The mail said to wait four to six weeks. The German embassy is issuing certain visas again. It would be more than fair (in case the suit wins) if KCC would push all remaining cases in for countries with a hand full of selectees.
July 21, 2020 at 23:18
I am a DV2021 selectee and I recently completed my DS260. Due to my passport nearing expiration date I am going to renew it in the coming months. The email from KCC about the documents needed has not arived yet (which seems normal)
Do I have to ask KCC to unlock my form after renewing the passport, or can I just upload both scanned passports as well as an explanation when all documentation is requested?
July 21, 2020 at 23:57
You would normally update your DS260 with the new passport number. Also be prepared to show old and new passports.
July 22, 2020 at 03:14
can you please tell me what Electronic Diversity Visa Confirmation Number is?
i saw that when i was trying to fill out my ds 260 online form..
July 22, 2020 at 05:00
The number you used to check if you were a selectee.
July 22, 2020 at 04:32
Hello Bri, is there any possibility that the 2NL can be sent after 30th of this month, that is early next month? Just in case AILA gets the TRO later this month.
July 22, 2020 at 05:03
We will have to wait and see. It is obviously a fluid situation that has never happened before.
July 22, 2020 at 12:50
Hello Simon! I hope you are doing great. I have a question related to the procedure that be made if one’s passport has changed. KCC says that I have to send copies of my new and old passports accompanied with an explanation to why my passport has changed… Great! So far there’s no problem. Yet, some people say that the explanation should be put in a PDF form and should be named as well in the same way other documents were named-case number, full name and on. Please tell me if this is the right way to explain the change of passport…knowing that I just sent a simple explanation in the form of an email with the required documents. Thank you so much!
July 22, 2020 at 17:43
There isn’t a “right” way – just use your own judgement.
July 22, 2020 at 17:14
Hello Britsimons, First of all thank you so much for helping us.
I have a question for you.
Why this answer?
I spoke to one of representative from kcc, and asked about what will happen if AILA won the Case than will guy’s schedule the interview for DV2020, than she replied whatever will happen we don’t care, put in your mind that we’re over with DV2020. There will be no interview further for DV2020.
July 22, 2020 at 17:48
Probably because they are fed up answering the same questions over and over again…
July 22, 2020 at 21:04
Please can u speak about no ban act and it pass today
Is that mean they block the ban on iran and syria , yamen, smoal, sudan ….
Or what it is
July 22, 2020 at 22:25
I’ll create something later today.
July 23, 2020 at 07:43
Hello mr Brit, thank you for your support.
Is it possible for someone who has not received the documents congratulation email to receive 2nl?
July 23, 2020 at 17:38
July 23, 2020 at 06:34
Hello Brit how true is Grace mega bill will it be of help to us?
July 23, 2020 at 17:37
I don’t know what you are referring to.
July 23, 2020 at 08:01
Hello Brit thanks for your all the way help! And i have a question…
I am dv 2021 selectee and the name in my eDV and my education certificate differs in one spelling (which is Samuel in my eDV and Samiel in my education certificate) and i have legally changed my name to “Samuel” after i have checked my selection in DV 2021 and i have changed my name of Birth Cirtificate and passport to “Samuel”. But due to bureaucracy of my country i can’t change my education certificate .. my question is
1. Should i prepare the legal paper (that i have changed my name) to send to KCC while i send my documents ?
2. If you have any recommendation for my case i’ll be happy to hear
July 23, 2020 at 17:39
Do what you think makes sense based on procedures in your country.
July 23, 2020 at 17:59
Hello, Do you have any update on regards the AILA Lawsuit? Another question, if I have a support document which will send to KCC in .JPEG format but it has two pages what is the correct way to send it in the email? Is there any problem to send the support documentation more than two times to KCC even thought if we received the automatic replay saying that we need to wait for 3-6 weeks?
July 23, 2020 at 19:39
I’ll post updates as I get them.
July 23, 2020 at 19:16
Good evening my BritSimon
I listened that the decision was made in relation to the unused 2020 visas that they will be crossed in the following fiscales years, so they prefer to hang the dreams of those who have gone through a 2-year procedure and spent millions to give to others who technically have not lost anything yet? I don’t understand anything anymore.
July 23, 2020 at 19:45
That is not a decision – that is a proposal only – and will not become law very soon if at all. However, it is an attempt to help some people and not allow visas to be wasted, so I think you are ignoring the positive intent.
Regarding DV2020 there are numerous cases being fought now by lawyers over here. It is churlish to ignore that effort (being made by large teams of legal experts, in many cases for free). I don’t believe there are many countries where strangers would be prepared to fight for you like we are…
July 23, 2020 at 20:03
And we Appreciate every efort u do
Alot of thnks what ever it happen u did yoour best
July 23, 2020 at 21:17
Mr BritSimon I have surely mis expressed my thoughts, we are so grateful for all the efforts that you and the college of lawyers and other movements made for us
I thought it was a decision of the Trump administration And that’s how my comment was intended. I’m sorry if you felt offended, it was by no means my intention. My mother tongue is French so I may misrepresent my thoughts in the English language
July 23, 2020 at 21:53
Don’t worry the God will reward us with something better than DV2020
July 24, 2020 at 04:42
I applied for green card 2021 with travaling passport number as a single person but I am married and I have been selected. What should I do in DS 260 and how to continue the next process? I want to fill aplication as single not married. does it make me problem for not including family?
July 24, 2020 at 05:07
I won’t help you commit fraud.
July 24, 2020 at 05:41
does embassy has anything to check passport which I am marrried or no because in my passport there is no saying about married? Can I change my passport?
July 24, 2020 at 04:55
I heard that Libyan Citizen can apply now, could you confirm that?
July 24, 2020 at 05:06
They can enter the lottery, yes.
July 24, 2020 at 05:49
What about regular visa
July 24, 2020 at 13:16
I don’t know.
July 24, 2020 at 06:25
I am winner of 2021 selectes and lost my Passport which i registrated. Can I get new passport ?
July 24, 2020 at 13:16
Yes, but you will need to show proof of the old passport.
July 24, 2020 at 16:46
Hello Mr. Brit! My case number is 2021EU20XXX. I filled DS260 form on the 1st of July. Then I’ve gotten married on 16th of July. Haven’t read your fantastic blog by that time and didn’t realise that I’m not in a hurry and the form could wait- Silly me! I wrote to Kentuccy Consular center to unlock my form so I could change my Marital status and add a spouse, even added marriage certificate as you’ve instructed. Here is the question: since my passport is new, will I have to change my passport (ID) number? And what about my surname, since It’s also has been changed after marriage. Do I change it and provide my previous surname as maiden name? Also, I didn’t get an email from KCC with document requirements, but I guess It’s waaay too soon considering my case number:) Thank you so much, best wishes! :))
July 24, 2020 at 18:48
Yes you will need to update your DS260 with your new name and passport number. As you said, it would have been easier to have waited, but it won’t matter. I assume you are adding your spouse too – and therefore will create a DS260 for him/her (using the “add applicant” function).
July 25, 2020 at 18:41
I was submit entry and fill DS-260 with old passport, but my passport expire in January 2021. Is that fine to make a new passport in December and than on interview carry old and new? Or I need to make new asap, contact Kentacky to unlock my DS-260 and add new passport (my spouse CN is 8XXX) ?
Thanks a lot.
July 25, 2020 at 19:25
You can take old and new to the interview, yes.
July 26, 2020 at 21:36
Hello Mr Simon
Received “Congratulation” mid March.
Called KCC mid May.
Know there are 5 day chance to try to ask KCC what is going on .
— Could you please ask lawyers for a format of demanding letter to KCC for people like me.
*I am aware of DOS internal administrative informal orders for KCC and Embassies not to open at list before the new “trick”,in which may come a proposal to change the immigration system,in fact giving all the BaN green cards to legalize people who are already in the US.
I need just a letter.
Thank you in advance.
July 26, 2020 at 22:50
I don’t know what you mean. You cannot demand anything at the moment – the immigrant ban stops any embassy issuing immigrant visas.
July 27, 2020 at 13:14
my number is dv 24561. but I never got through the interview. though should have passed in may.
July 29, 2020 at 16:08
Hello Brit any news from AILA
July 29, 2020 at 17:05
No – when I hear something I will post.
July 31, 2020 at 19:43
Hello Brit, is there any update on regards the lawsuits?
July 31, 2020 at 22:11
I will post when I have news.
August 1, 2020 at 19:49
Hi Britsimon ,, Thanking you for your help ,,, because thanks to your help I am today in the US and I am a permanent resident (I was a winner of dv lottery 2019). Please I have a question and I hope you help me. What is here I-765 application employment authorization? Do I have to apply for one with necessity? Since I have social security ,,, but when I applied for unemployment I heard I-765 application employment authorization. Please help me if I need more the need for a permanent resident to apply for I-765 application employment authorization?
August 2, 2020 at 04:18
No you do not need that form. You are already authorized to work because of your Greencard holder status.
August 2, 2020 at 16:37
Thank you very much and God bless you and your family,, especially little Sofin. You have helped me all the way to get here where I am today. From the day I received the news that I am one of the winners of dv lottery and until today where I asked you the next question. You do not hesitate at any time to answer. I will write about my experience but I want to write it in detail and since life here is very busy I have not been able to do this. God bless you and save you in this difficult situation where the whole globe is.
August 3, 2020 at 03:42
August 2, 2020 at 17:43
I am the 2020 dv lottery winner … I embarked from Pointe Noire (Congo Brazzaville) for Washington with a stopover in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).
There is a direct flight but he tells me that they will first check whether or not I can embark with this type of visa.
I do not really know what else to do.
August 3, 2020 at 03:45
You need to be firm with the airline. If they tell you no – ask for a supervisor. Stand your ground.
August 3, 2020 at 09:04
Thanks I will do just that
August 3, 2020 at 16:22
Hi Brit, I saw this article posted on the AILA web page, is that related to the lawsuit?
August 3, 2020 at 22:15
August 3, 2020 at 22:24
I just pray they get a hearing date soon and for positive results too
August 4, 2020 at 06:49
Greetings sir. Pls is there any chance of me being schedule for an interview? Neither did they say my documentary are not OK. Since I submitted my ds-260 and my required documentary last year I haven’t receive any message from the KCC concerning my interview schedule. And we are left with just less than a month to the end of the dv 2020 winners program. I have written to them twice and the only reply is my documentary are currently in process.
August 5, 2020 at 00:28
As I have answered others over and over again, I cannot predict the outcome of the lawsuits, so you need to wait and see.
August 11, 2020 at 12:08
Dear Brit Thanks u for the update on You Tube. It’s rich and it raises some hopes taking into consideration that there has been a situation bfr where cases were kept aside and treated later after or beyond September 30th. Meaning if the judge can look into that situation there is a possibility for the judge to do something to allow our cases to be treated after 30th or along side with DV 2021 as laid by the law company.
But like u said we only have to keep praying while hoping for best but expecting the worse.
August 19, 2020 at 08:06
Hi Brit, receiving 2nls letter is it based on KCC or the home embassy?
August 20, 2020 at 05:07
KCC send the 2NLs
August 19, 2020 at 13:26
Hello Simon. Good Day. I am from Cameroon and won the dv with number AF85XXX. Before knowing your blog, i had already filled my Ds260 and sent which i later asked for it to be unlocked so i could correct some things and resent it. Its been more than a month now and no response from KCC demanding for documents. Do you think i should call KCC or keep being patient. Thanks.
Also, just saw that 3686 applicants were chosen in Cameroon. Does that give me a good shot to get the visa? given that 7% of the visa per year is allocated to each country.
August 19, 2020 at 13:33
Where did you get that information, I don’t think the 2021 statistics s released
August 19, 2020 at 14:29
Or It is 7% of all the African region so add all AF, i have noticed KCC has not asked for documents from Africa region, have you heard any AF who has been requested?
August 20, 2020 at 05:13
August 19, 2020 at 14:57
Hello Falone am also from Cameroon please can you share ur contact so that we can always share information and ideas
August 20, 2020 at 05:11
Your number is extremely high and you may not get a chance. Watch out for my videos for a full explanation tomorrow.
August 19, 2020 at 15:19
Hi Brit, September 2020 Visa Bulletin is published with the region and country wise statistics of the DV-2021 winners. I have winners statistics maintained for last 15 years in excel spreadsheet. DV-2021 statistics seems to be very high in number of selectees. Could you please analyze this data and help us understand the density of holes and applicants for DV-2021? Also, the chances of getting called for an interview? Thanks in advance!
August 23, 2020 at 00:16
My wife is a winner of DV 2021. During the filling in of the initial DV entry, she put in an email address but she cannot really remember whether that her address she or my that she put on the entry. However, in filling in the DS-260, I used my e-mail address being that it (my address) is active and easily accessible.
With this I want to know:
1. Which one of these email addresses will KCC send documents through or communicate with her? the address on the initial entry or the DS-260?
2. Is there any link to help us see or access the information that were put on the original entry? so that we will get to know what address she really used on this eV entry.
3. What will happen if the embassy does not open between now to December for those who are to sit for interview the period supra, will the date be deferred to a time or succeeding month when the embassy will be opened for business.
Thank you very much for your kind assistance and reception.

September 29, 2020 at 21:08
I just got my DV2020 visa approved two days ago and received my visa packet just a while ago. However, the due date for my immigrant visa is in March 2021. Incase, if my country’s border is still closed during that time, will I be able to renew my visa to an extended deadline?
I have also heard that DV immigrant visa holders cannot enter USA till 31st December,2020. Do you think the Proclamation might be extended (how are the chances like) ?
September 29, 2020 at 21:41
We don’t know x 2.
January 9, 2021 at 17:08
