According to several media reports, the government are considering adding some countries to the travel ban list.
Some of you may have heard about a new list of countries that could be added to the travel ban list. At the moment this is just a rumor – it has not happened yet. No additional countries are banned. The reports say the Trump administration is warning these countries that they have 60 days to address deficiencies in their behavior/systems, and if those things are NOT addressed, those countries could be added to the ban list.
Those countries are:
Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Dominica, Ethiopia, Egypt, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, South Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
HOWEVER – I REPEAT. These countries are not banned at this time and it is only speculation right now. So – stay calm and finish your processing. It is too soon to panic. I don’t know if this will go ahead or not – and if some countries are added I don’t know what sort of ban will be applied.
One of the media reports is here.
My earlier video about the ban on the 19 countries is here:

I have always been an ardent Trump supporter but on this particular issue I strongly disagree with his views. He stated in the past that countries used this benefit to get rid of their criminals and undesirables . Having been a beneficiary and gone through an extended background check process and double interviews I know for certain that this is garbage . Even when successfully selected there are still hurdles to overcome. Banning all these nationalities would be disastrous ESPECIALLY given how seriously anti illegal immigration he professes to be – cutting another avenue of legal immigration is nothing short of insanity !!.

There are a multitude of things that show us how bad Trump actually is, but at least the penny is dropping for you on something.

Hi Simon, so now that my case is already current, which center should I contact to transfer my case from Cotedivoire to Ghana as Cotedivoire embassy has stopped scheduling appointments dates for DV visas. I should contact NVC or Abidjan or Ghana embassy. Thank you
July 15, 2025 at 08:24
Why on earth did you wait to become current??? That makes it nearly impossible to move, so you are probably stuck where you are.
July 15, 2025 at 14:01
My case became current before the Cotedivoire Embassy stopped scheduling appointments dates for DV winners. My case became current in June and we got to know the news recently. I should have transferred the case long ago but the information didn’t reach me in time .
So I’m humbly asking which embassy should I mail to transfer my case back to Ghana Please.
I should write to NVC or Cotedivoire or Ghana embassy pls

KCC is who has your case.

Hi Simon. I wrote to codivoire Abidjan US embassy to find out why my 2nl is keeping long because my case was current in June. The response I got from the embassy was not good and it says..
“ We are no longer scheduling additional Diversity visa interview. Our capacity has been provided to the Kentucky consular center and we can not accommodate additional appointments this time.”
But I’m from Ghana and I chose Cotedivoire as my interview center. Since my case is current ,
1# can NVC consider and schedule my interview back to Ghana after pleading with them?
2# Or what do you think can be the best solution for me now . Thank you

1. Maybe – but that is very hard to achieve.
2. I don’t have an easy solution.

Hi BritSimon,
My case number is 2025AF394xx. I submitted my DS-260 in August 2024 and selected the Dakar embassy.
Based on previous years and current trends, do you think there is a realistic chance that my case will be scheduled before the end of the fiscal year?
Thanks for your work!

Yes
June 21, 2025 at 18:38
Hi Simon, Do I have to submit any documents online after submitting my Ds 260 form ?
June 22, 2025 at 03:52
No

Hello Brit,
We’ve heard rumors that registration for the next DV will cost $250. I’d like to know if this is true.

This will be brutal. I thought finally after years of no selection, 2026 is gonna be good for me with a mid af range case number. And now this. I guess we will wait and see. Looks like more than half of Africa.

It would be awful, but it’s not for sure yet.
June 16, 2025 at 05:52

June 16, 2025 at 16:47

June 16, 2025 at 03:36
Hello Brit Simon. Is it a good idea to postpone my interview when I’m already scheduled for next week given the current context?
June 16, 2025 at 16:43
Such a vague question….
June 15, 2025 at 14:22
Well elaborated sir

Hello BritSimon, Julius from Uganda DV-2026. I’ve not submitted my DS-260 and I am wondering whether I should go ahead and submit yet Uganda is part of the 36 countries. Thx

You could wait a couple of months and decide later.
