People are panicking and even assuming the worst based on the case numbers they are getting in DV2024. It is premature to assume anything. Please watch the video below to understand better!

May 7, 2023 at 09:21
Thanks!
May 7, 2023 at 06:55
2024EU54XXX is my case number. This is my first year that i applied and i was selected. I just don’t know what the chances are under this number.
May 7, 2023 at 09:29
The video explains that we don’t actually know how many selectees we have – but your case number doesn’t seem bad to me.
May 7, 2023 at 08:43
Here’s my case number for your reference: 2024OC000034XX. Thanks.
May 7, 2023 at 09:31
Thanks!!
May 7, 2023 at 09:16
BritSimon, this post made me feel SOO much better!
My CN for DV-2024 is 2024OC28XX and I was so nervous, but your historical data on case numbers and the information provided on current CN’s gave me hope.
Thank you so much. 😀
May 7, 2023 at 09:35
Great – we should find out the selectee numbers (and therefore understand the density) in July or August.
May 7, 2023 at 09:20
Hello, thanks for this video. I got selected and my CN is 2024EU00045xxx
I was concerned with my high number but you explained everything.
May 7, 2023 at 09:33
Thanks!
May 10, 2023 at 07:05
Hi Simon, thanks for the videos!
I got 2024OC25xx.
Is this good? Seems to be a middle number based on previous comments.
May 10, 2023 at 09:08
Agreed – in the middle of the range, but we don’t know the important thing which is how many people are in the range.
The video above explains.
May 7, 2023 at 10:46
Hi Simon my case number is 2024AF000599XXX ID IT OK
May 7, 2023 at 10:48
It’s not bad.
May 7, 2023 at 10:47
Sorry is 2024AF000599xx
May 7, 2023 at 11:31
Hey Simon!
Leaving my case number to help you get more data:
2024AS10XXX
May 7, 2023 at 12:39
Thanks!
May 7, 2023 at 11:58
Hi Simon, thank for your explanation!
My case number is 2024EU00026xxx
The fact that there are numbers up to 65k should be good for me, right?
May 7, 2023 at 12:39
Yes
May 7, 2023 at 12:55
Hi Simon!
My case number is 2024EU00038xxx.
Idk if I have any chance.
May 7, 2023 at 15:58
It’s not a bad number.
May 7, 2023 at 12:57
Mine is 2024EU00033xxx. Does it sound solid according to known stats?
May 7, 2023 at 14:33
We don’t know much yet, but it is half the number of others I heard.
May 7, 2023 at 14:42
Hi Simon, Thank you very much for your analysis. My case number is 2024AS00041***. Based on your analysis, I should wish for selected applicants around 100,000 , and the higher number the lower chances I will be able to be interviewed. So, I should be betting for something more like DV-2011 or DV-2012 of which it had selected applicants around 100,000 and high case numbers were able to be interviewed !
Do you know when will the number of selected applicants be announced and where it will be posted?
I’m sorry for the long comment, but I’m little freaked out and I’m afraid I won’t get scheduled for an interview !
Thanks again
May 7, 2023 at 20:13
The selectee numbers will be posted in the visas bulletin, either the one in July or August.
May 10, 2023 at 06:17
Thanks Simon
May 7, 2023 at 16:59
Hi Simon!
My case number is 2024AS00020xxx.
What is your opinion?
May 7, 2023 at 20:19
The video explains my thoughts.
May 7, 2023 at 17:18
Hi Simon , my case number is 56xxx I’m from Georgia. Many people told me that I will not make it to the interview and the visa limit will be filled. what will you tell me
Thanks
May 7, 2023 at 20:19
Watch the video. No one can tell you your chances at this time.
May 7, 2023 at 17:27
Hi Brit, thank you for the video. I am however confused if I should pursue this. I am already in the United States under a non-immigrant F-1 visa status. I am from Russia. My case number is 2024EU00040xxx. Do you think I have a chance?
May 7, 2023 at 20:20
As the video explains – we don’t know how many selectees there are…
May 9, 2023 at 03:31
As I seen tha Russia is excluded from dv2024
May 9, 2023 at 08:51
Nonsense.
May 8, 2023 at 04:04
Hi Simon, thank you for all the good works you doing for humanity.Well my question is about the draw is it done at once for all the regions and countries at a go?
I really dont understand why i have been playing this DV for a decade but this ”HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED” will not change when time is due to check.
May 8, 2023 at 10:39
The process is a random draw with a chance of selection in AF region of about 1 in 100 years. So trying 10 times and not being picked is not a surprise.
May 8, 2023 at 07:11
Case number: 2024EU00022xxx
I hope there is a chance.
May 8, 2023 at 07:29
Hi Brit, you are the best, love your videos! Mine is 2024EU00043xxx
May 8, 2023 at 10:42
Thanks!
May 8, 2023 at 09:52
Hi Simon my case number is OC000046xx. I guess nobody is reporting higher than this in Oceania….
May 8, 2023 at 10:51
Yep – one at 49XX so far.
It is clear that the hole rate has increased in all regions, because they can’t possibly have double the selectees. BUT we have to wait to see how many selectees there are (and therefore how many holes).
May 8, 2023 at 10:23
Hi, my number is 2024OC000049XX
Cheers
May 8, 2023 at 10:53
Highest yet in OC (so congratulations in a way).
It is clear that the hole rate has increased in all regions, because they can’t possibly have double the selectees. BUT we have to wait to see how many selectees there are (and therefore how many holes).
May 8, 2023 at 11:04
I was planning on making a NIW application next year anyhow but I’ll wait and see what happens with my “historic” 49XX first.
Thanks for the info, I’ll keep checking your blog and best of luck to everyone!
May 8, 2023 at 12:08
In July or August we will get the selectee numbers and then we will have a better idea…
May 8, 2023 at 12:37
Does this information also allow insight into which month higher numbers will be called? For example if the numbers are roughly doubled from last year, if a 1500 OC cutoff appeared in June 2023, can we expect roughly a 3000 number for 2024? All completely supposition
May 8, 2023 at 15:08
All “completely supposition” at the moment. The numbers mean nothing without knowing the selectees.
May 12, 2023 at 20:50
Hi I also was selected and my CN is OC6XXXX
May 12, 2023 at 22:26
Wow
May 8, 2023 at 12:27
Hi! Don’t see a lot of South Americans here!! Mine is 2024SA000033xx
What you all think?
Good luck to all the selected
May 8, 2023 at 15:08
That’s not a bad number – I have seen much higher reported.
May 8, 2023 at 13:48
Hi Brit, thank you! The num is 2024EU00033xxx. Is it correct, the higher the numbers in the region (i heard about 68xxx) – better for my particular case?
May 8, 2023 at 15:09
Possibly yes – but we still need to wait to see how many selectees we have.
May 8, 2023 at 14:30
Hi Simon,
Is it eliminatory during the interview to have a dispute in commercial court between me and the bank ?
May 8, 2023 at 15:10
No.
May 8, 2023 at 14:51
Hi Simon. My case number is 2024AF00104xxx. I’m a little rattled and felt despondent all day. Glad I found your video, helps a little to lift my spirits. Fingers crossed we stand a chance. Thanks
May 8, 2023 at 15:12
Fingers crossed. We will know more in July or August.
May 8, 2023 at 16:32
Hi Brit, won the dv 2024 with an AF33,***. I am currently in canada pursuing a degree so my country of chargeability is Ghana and my host was montreal as stated in my entant status check. My questions are:
1. my husband is still in ghana and doesn’t have a visa to canada yet even though i applied for a visa for him since december 2022. How do i go about this should i be scheduled for my interview in montreal later?
2. Does the montreal embassy have a high dv case performance- should i be perturbed? Glad I’m not in Ghana because the Accra embassy is quite slow.
3. I have a newborn who’s canadian, will he be eligible for the american visa even as a canadian?
4. when should i complete my ds-260 given my case number?
5.At what point of this entire process do i submit medicals and police certificate?
Thankyou for the clarity.
May 8, 2023 at 16:38
1. The best thing is if your husband can interview with you in Montreal. Your interview won’t be until spring next year, so there is time to figure that out. Montreal will be better than Accra.
2. Montreal is better than Accra – that is the main thing.
3. Yes
4. Now is fine.
5. At the interview (the medical will happen just before the interview).
May 8, 2023 at 16:34
Hi Simon, am one of the winners of dv 2024, here is my question: am a Nigerian married to Cameroonian I claim Cameron in the dv lottery as my country by marriage, who’s passport will be best for me to use Nigeria or Cameron passport?
May 8, 2023 at 16:38
Doesn’t matter which passport is used.
May 8, 2023 at 16:45
Secondly, my marriage is been done here in Nigeria so my marriage certificate is Nigeria. Do I need to get Cameron marriage certificate?. Thirdly, I gave birth to all my children in Nigeria, what birth certificate Will be good for them Nigeria or Cameron birth certificate?
May 8, 2023 at 17:45
Your Nigerian marriage cert will be fine.
May 8, 2023 at 16:48
Won’t it be used against me since Nigeria is not allowed to play dv lottery?
May 8, 2023 at 17:53
Hi Brit a friend of mine is 2024AF00107XXX
Just to let you know there is that hight of a number in AF region
May 8, 2023 at 18:03
Thanks. Highest I have heard is 2024AF122K
May 9, 2023 at 00:37
Hi Simon, I really appreciate what you are doing thanks a lot. Please if I may ask can my children use Nigeria passport too or Cameron passport
May 9, 2023 at 08:37
Doesn’t matter.
May 9, 2023 at 00:48
Thank you for responding Brit. I lived in Ghana all my life and currently in Canada now for about 7months. Do I need police certificates to show for both countries or just Canada?
May 9, 2023 at 08:37
Both. Please study the instructions.
May 9, 2023 at 06:55
Hi Simon, my case number is 2024OC2xx.
May 9, 2023 at 08:55
Nice!!
May 9, 2023 at 09:23
Hi Simon,
My case number is 2024EU35700.
My sister has open an family reconciliation procedure for me in february 2022, and for that reason I am not married yet (in papers) with my husband. And we have a child in the meantime.
Considering the high case number, an imigration agent recommended me to proceed with DS260 without getting married (only me and my doughter) and in the moment that I’m called by the Ambassy for the interview to complete the marriage procedures. He recommended this procedure only to not get lost the family reconciliation process initiated in 2021 becouse of the high case number we can even not be called at all for an interview by the Ambassy. It has logic but I’m afraid it’s not to much legally correct.
Your feedback is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
May 9, 2023 at 16:28
I’m concerned at the advice you were given. I would agree you could file as single (with the child) now, but once we know the selectee numbers (and we know your embassy) then it is likely you would want to marry and add your spouse. Leaving that until you receive the 2NL is risky. We will know selectee numbers in July/August.
May 9, 2023 at 10:44
2024EU00058xxx
May 9, 2023 at 11:22
Hi BritSimon! Thank for doing this! I got selected and just realized there is a typo in my name (it appears duplicated in the middle name) do you think this could be an issue based on your experience?
May 9, 2023 at 16:48
No. As long as it is corrected in the DS260, it should be OK.
May 9, 2023 at 13:57
Hello Simon!!!
My number case is EU65XXX 🙁 so sad!

Hello Brit thank you for the videos and follow up. My number is 2024AF409×× is this a good number for AF. Kindly let me know
May 9, 2023 at 18:28
The video answers that question…
May 9, 2023 at 17:12
My CN is 2024AS000200XX. is it high in this year?
May 9, 2023 at 18:38
Not very high, no.
May 9, 2023 at 17:24
Hi Simon, not sure if this is useful information or not, but after submitting my DS260 I was told NOT to submit paperwork:
“You do not need to submit any documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center. The KCC will review your application and will notify you if any of the information you have provided is insufficient or incomplete.”
May 9, 2023 at 19:13
Thanks. It said the same thing when we did have the document procedure though – so to be honest – we can’t trust the statement yet.
May 9, 2023 at 18:37
Hello and thanks for your content!
CN EU202400046xxx Embassy Croatia.
I would prefer to have my interview next year, but would submiting DS260 later this or even next year lower my chances?
I am only now making my passport, no problem with that?
Fees have to be paid when?
May 9, 2023 at 19:16
No matter what you did, your case number will not be current until well in to next year. I would personally submit the DS260 early – except if there is an actual need to delay. So – submit now, or wait for your passport if you want.
Fees are paid at the medical and interview.
May 9, 2023 at 21:26
Hi Brit, for the part of the ds260 that asks for all addresses one has lived in from age 16yrs, does that include boarding school and university hostels?
I ask because at age 16, I was in secondary school and in the school boarding house. The duration was 4years, but of course I always went home for my vacations. Same as in the university- I rented a place close to campus so I could easily attend lectures.
Do I need to add these addresses, though I lived i them temporarily?
May 9, 2023 at 23:14
You probably were still based at your “home” address – so give that.
May 9, 2023 at 21:29
Another question is, my parents were divorced and I lived with both for short periods of time intermittently. For example, on holidays, i’ld spend one month with mom and one month with dad. How do i record the exact dates or time/duration in my ds260?
May 9, 2023 at 23:14
Just use your judgement – no need to overthink this.
May 10, 2023 at 01:18
Hello Brit! I recently discovered your blog and wanted to express my gratitude for all the valuable information you provide. I’ve been participating in the lottery for 10 years and I was selected this time around. However, I had no idea of the case numbers and application procedures involved. My case number is EU52xxx and I have already completed the DS 260 form.
The system suggested that I have my interview in Naples, Italy (my country of residence), but I opted for Rome since it is closer to my current location. Do you think this choice will have any impact on the process? Thank you again for your helpful blog!
May 10, 2023 at 08:57
They will ignore your choice – Naples will be used.
May 10, 2023 at 02:21
Just for the record. 2024EU44xxx
May 10, 2023 at 08:57
Thanks
May 10, 2023 at 07:07
hey simon my case number is 2024AS22xxx
how bad ?>
May 10, 2023 at 09:08
Not too bad as a number – but watch the video to understand.
May 10, 2023 at 07:40
Hello and thank you for your content.
My case number is 2024EU16xxx (Turkey)
I don’t know my chance and ı concern about my case number.
What do you think abount my chance?
May 10, 2023 at 09:10
This is one of those times when someone is just looking for reassurance, even though simple logic would say there is no concern. Case numbers in EU have been reported up to 65000 range – so what do you think?
May 10, 2023 at 10:02
I guess this number was 35000 last year, I wonder increasing of this number is good or bad for my chance? (You said this year that is 65000)
And also I wonder how important is the time to complete DS260 form? For example is there a difference between 3 days and 4 days in terms of sending DS260 form?
May 10, 2023 at 10:36
We don’t know the number of selectees chosen yet. They won’t have doubled the selectees, so there are more holes for sure – but still we need to know how many selectees we have.
People will still be completing DS260s in weeks and months to come, so earlier is good, but not critical day by day.
May 10, 2023 at 10:56
Hi Simon,
I entered my my first name as last name and last name as first name in my lottroy Application .
How can I correct this mistake ?is it ok to switch my name and enter in correct order in the DS-260 even if it is wrong in lottory application ? is there any possiblity to reject my DS-260 because of this reason?
May 10, 2023 at 14:06
Enter the name correctly on the DS260 – and that would normally be OK.
There is no possibility of a DS260 being rejected. KCC cannot adjudicate a case, ONLY a CO can do that.
May 10, 2023 at 11:57
Hi brisimon one of our family won dv 2024 with the case number 2024AF705xx is there a chance get interview?
May 10, 2023 at 14:12
Watch the video.
May 10, 2023 at 12:03
Hello,
is DS-260 for DV-2024 ready to be filled in? I tried but there is a field asking for “Electronic Diversity Visa Confirmation Number”.
Pleas help.
May 10, 2023 at 14:12
Yes you can complete the DS260. YOu have the confirmation number AND your case number.
May 17, 2023 at 13:35
I have the case number but could not find the “Electronic Diversity Visa Confirmation Number”.
May 18, 2023 at 10:55
That is the confirmation number you used to check your selection.
May 30, 2023 at 14:03
It worked. Thank you so much for your support.
