I’ve gathered the Historical Visa Bulletin Numbers from various sources for a few years to give an idea of progression in previous years and I will maintain these numbers as future Visa Bulletins are released.
Knowing visa bulletin progression is sometimes a useful reference, and is certainly interesting. To use the data, click the tab for the region you are interested in and check the cutoff number for the month.
There may be some similarities with number progress from year to year, but there may not. So – don’t rely on these numbers as a predictive guide for this year. One thing that confuses people is that the selected numbers vary each year depending on entries and other factors. For instance, certain countries in the past have had huge entry numbers and once those countries are excluded from the lottery the range of numbers selected changes from one year to the next. That was the case in 2014 to 2015 in AF region when Nigeria was excluded, or in Asia in 2012 to 2013 when Bangladesh was excluded.
To understand how to read the Visa Bulletin works and can be read – please check out this article.
What does CURRENT mean? That is published when KCC believes that there are enough visas for all remaining demand. All case numbers can then be interviewed.
Direct link to the data if needed (works best for ipads, and possible other mobile devices):-

Thanks BritSimon for much help and enlightenment.
GOOD NEWS for you obtaining your DV VISAS from March 2020! The SALVATION EMPOWERMENT SANCTUARY (HOUSE OF TESTIMONY) here in the US has one position opened to welcome you.
We can offer help in transportation from the airport to a place you can settle for a month or two. After you find a job you look for your own place and we end any assistance we were giving you.
This time the space is for a couple ONLY! Couples especially with kids are more likely to need real help than singles.
The last couple we assisted last year (CAMEROONIANS) have two kids of elementary school age. You need to see how much help they need even as they already have a car and a residence!
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, email us here salsachurch@gmail.com whats app 1701 8851267
Tell us what type of assistance you may need and the size of your family.
Thank you.

Dear Brit
AF39###
I just received OK Email.
Thank you for the guidance.
I think I will get a May interview from the look of things. Hope I am correct.
Also Brit, as fate will have it. I finally made up my mind to marry, but my partner whom I intend to marry just received her Visa to travel and study in Canada for two years.
Is it ok if I marry after the interview?
February 24, 2020 at 8:43 pm
Marry after the interview if you realize that means sponsoring her later once you are in the USA which takes around 2 years…
June 8, 2020 at 3:08 pm
Hi Brit! What do you think about 50k EU cases? They have a chance?
June 8, 2020 at 5:55 pm
Too soon to know.
June 9, 2020 at 1:07 am
Visa bulletin is published for this month.. it says current !
June 9, 2020 at 2:48 pm
@Yahya. OBVIOUSLY I KNOW THAT.
February 25, 2020 at 7:37 pm
Eu000070xx is there any chance to interview ? I have submitted my documents on 14th February
February 25, 2020 at 7:58 pm
Yes.
February 27, 2020 at 4:46 pm
Hi brit
I received congratulation message from kcc my cn is AF000425** when did i expect my interview
February 27, 2020 at 8:49 pm
When you are current – probably in the next VB.
February 28, 2020 at 8:12 am
Simon hi, hope u redoing well. I do understand the reason why EU slowed down with this VB (almost no improvement). But I also think how come with AF region its still going really fast. I am definitely not jelious :))) What is ur opinion?
February 28, 2020 at 7:19 pm
I explained why in recent articles/videos. AF still has many cases without documents whereas EU has many cases under 21k and caught up on the processing.
April 9, 2020 at 11:03 am
hello Brit
What does except for Iran, Nepal means on VB?? Does our CN count according to that numbers??
I am CN: 2020AS118** (Nepal) still not current if that’s the case.
Thank you for the effort as always.
Stay safe

April 9, 2020 at 6:20 pm
Yes, Brit i know how VB CN cut off works and i’ve already seen this video before thank you. But what my question meant was, Does my CN works according to my country (NEPAL) ?
thanks again
April 9, 2020 at 7:01 pm
If you are a Nepal charged case then yes your number is identified as Nepal – as fully explained in the article I gave you.
April 11, 2020 at 4:25 pm
so that means if we are from Iran and Nepal our AS, will not count as ASIA region, but Iran or Nepal. ?

April 16, 2020 at 3:09 pm
Hi Brit,
Hope you and your family are safe and sound.
I have a question: What happens when they don’t reach the numbers by September? Mine is AF67***. Would they just transfer those to next year’s lottery or do we just need to apply again for next year 2021?
As I understand, my number is too high and I will likely not get a chance for an interview. Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,
Ari
April 16, 2020 at 5:33 pm
If the year ends (September 30), any unapproved cases at that time lose their chance. There is no further benefit of the selection – so yes – people could apply for the next year, but will not get any advantage over other entries.
April 21, 2020 at 7:24 am
Hi Brit.
Please remain safe with Family.
What a bad day to wake up to, with Trump’s idea on immigrant suspension.
If indeed an EO is made official on this, is there any iota of chance for courts to legally impede its execution? Or it stands as it is signed

April 21, 2020 at 10:13 am
Dear Brits,
I am shocked with the thoughts of President trump to suspend immigration visas to the states. Do you see this feasible implying our pending cases terminated? I was current and due for interview on April 13 but reluctant due to embassy lock-down. do you think i still have a chance?

April 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm
Would you like to explain how the interview scheduling process works when the visa bulletin comes out CURRENT?
Is the order of the numbers followed from least to greatest? Or are appointments being made according to the date all documents were delivered and ready?
According to your experience from previous years that CURRENT was, what could you tell me about it?
April 28, 2020 at 6:29 pm
Watch for a video later.
May 15, 2020 at 7:36 pm
Hi Mr Brit , hope you doing well. I tried to check on the visa bulletin for July and it read thus:
The Visa Bulletin
Error:
USCIS, in coordination with Department of State (DOS), is revising the procedures for determining visa availability for applicants waiting to file for employment-based or family-sponsored preference adjustment of status. The revised process will better align with procedures DOS uses for foreign nationals who seek to become U.S. permanent residents by applying for immigrant visas at U.S. consulates and embassies abroad.
1) Does it mean no more VB released?
May 16, 2020 at 12:17 am
1. No! Be patient.
May 19, 2020 at 8:40 am
Hi Mr Brit, continue to stay safe. I got this mail below from kcc on the 20th of March:
***Congratulations! Our records indicate that you have submitted all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.
Interviews for the DV 2020 program will begin in October 2019 and conclude on September 30, 2020. Please refer to the visa bulletin at www.travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email listed on your DS-260 to check http://www.dvlottery.state.gov.
If your case becomes current and you have not received notification to checkhttp://www.dvlottery.state.gov, please contactKCCDV@state.gov to confirm all of your documents have been received, and you are ready to be scheduled for an interview.
1) i wish to know when to expect my 2NL since every case is now current?
2) should i contact kcc if I don’t see my 2NL soon?
May 19, 2020 at 11:51 am
I received this email 20th March too. I don’t think that KCC would send 2NL to the rest of the cases due to Pandemic and Trumps administration. The situation is predictable, if embassies are reopening , it would be late already and they I would re schedule to the cases that have been scheduled with the embassies during lockdown. It’s just a lottery. Once you have luck, then you won’t. Don’t be disappointed.
May 19, 2020 at 2:13 pm
1. This month IF the embassies are assumed to be open for interviews.
2. No need.
May 19, 2020 at 2:57 pm
Hi Mr Brit, I really have a worry. I went through the historical visa bulletin numbers for last year and I saw that VB numbers were distributed up till September. That is, I could see that the VB for September was current and in some years the numbers were definite.
1) Does it mean that Sept VB will be for November interview, as July is for September interview, August VB for October ?
CN 2020AF48***
May 19, 2020 at 5:19 pm
Sorry mr Brit, I have understood now how the VB works. Sorry if I might have bother you. Sorry again.

HI Simon!
Can you help with this, please?
My number is 2021SA000017xx is there any chance to interview? (it’s a good number?)
I don’t have a good english yet, for the interview it’s only in english?
Thanks a lot for your time and dedication, you’re a great man!
June 6, 2020 at 11:38 pm
It’s too soon to know how many selectees there are, and highest case numbers. But as a rough guess, it’s probably a good number. But – there is plenty of time to wait.
June 9, 2020 at 1:10 am
I’m 81xxx so it’s very high
June 9, 2020 at 2:49 pm
Include your year & region with your number.
June 7, 2020 at 2:18 am
Hi Simon just wanted to let you know I have heard of highest case number 2500++ for Oceania region….
Looks similar to this current year….
All the best Oceania
June 7, 2020 at 4:41 am
Yep – seems that way – but its early days.
June 7, 2020 at 7:05 pm
Hi Simon,
Thanks for your efforts! My case number is 2021AS25XXX ! How bad is it?Also, I noticed there is a huge deviation in the numbers for Asia, does that mean they do some sort of calibration and then decide how many application they are going to accept each year fro each content?
June 7, 2020 at 7:38 pm
It is too soon to know detail about the numbers. Patience.
June 7, 2020 at 7:50 pm
OK Thanks! A couple of follow up question if you may:
1-Have you ever heard of any case that the number was too high and thus wasn’t called for interview? Especially in Asia?
2-If the cut-of score became current, does that mean all applicant are guaranteed an interview?
June 7, 2020 at 11:33 pm
1. Yes. Many.
2. No guarantees…
June 8, 2020 at 2:30 pm
Hi Simon, i just won DV lottery, my case number 39×××, i live in Armenia (Yerevan) can i hope for interview? Or my number case too hight for interview? Please let me know if i have chance for interview.
June 8, 2020 at 5:47 pm
It is too early to know. Over the coming weeks and months things will become more clear.
Patience.
June 8, 2020 at 3:44 pm
Simon,
Why do you think there’s been such a massive rise in case numbers selected for interviews for OC from 2019 to 2020? What could explain this?
Gives me at least a little hope for my 25XX number ??
Cheers
Elisa
June 8, 2020 at 7:25 pm
We know pretty much exactly what happened. It was a change in security/scrubbing techniques that led to a MUCH higher holes rate. I’m just working on a video to explain how that works, but the holes rate for OC in DV2020 was around 75%, and if this year is the same (as it should be) you would only have about 650/700 cases in front of you.
This video shows some explanation I gave of the DV2020 data:
https://youtu.be/jFSiEKcyqs8
June 8, 2020 at 10:46 pm
Great, thank you!
June 9, 2020 at 9:09 pm
hey dear simon my i won dv lot 2021 but my case number in around 27100, is there any hope for getting an interview opportunity ? i would really do appreciate if i get an answer.
June 9, 2020 at 10:08 pm
It is too early to guess anything. But when you give your number without a year/region, an angel dies.
June 9, 2020 at 11:34 pm
I was selected for 2021 – is 2021OC5XX a low number?
June 10, 2020 at 12:36 am
Note I edited your number – use that format from now on.
Yes it’s pretty good.
June 10, 2020 at 1:55 am
Thank you so much! I didn’t even think!! Ok – I appreciate your reply and all the effort you’ve put into your blog.
June 10, 2020 at 9:29 am
Hi Simon, got selected for 2021, my number is 2021OC11XX – thoughts on my chances this year?
June 10, 2020 at 11:21 pm
Good.
June 12, 2020 at 5:43 am
Great! Thanks Simon!!
Another quick question; I’m born in NZ with a NZ passport however have a British passport too, will this affect my chances?? I’ve just seen that the UK is excluded from this lottery…
June 12, 2020 at 11:02 am
No
June 11, 2020 at 12:11 pm
Hi Simon!
My case number is 2021AF58XXX, and i have sent my DS260 today.
i would like to know, based on your experience., if i have some chances to get an interview.
Thanks, stay safe!
Elias.
June 11, 2020 at 11:56 pm
It is too soon to know for sure. Wait some weeks, or even months to get a better idea.
June 11, 2020 at 12:29 pm
Hi Brit, hope you and family are doing great. I have a worry w the naming of documents. In my country Cameroon if you have never committed a crime before, you need to proof it with a certificate of non-conviction. So I classified non-conviction as court record. But I don’t know if I would have classified it under police certificate. All the same, I received my confirmation notice in March.
1) i don’t know if that will be an issue at the embassy blc I have never been convicted for a crime but have sent court record as one of my documents for kcc review. CN 2020AF48***
June 11, 2020 at 11:59 pm
You only have court records if you have been charged and have to defend a case in court. But they will know what it is, no matter what you named it.
June 11, 2020 at 8:17 pm
Hi Brit, my wife won the DV lottery 2021, she has a Jordanian passport and I have 2 passports (Jordanian+Palestinian). The issue is that my name differs a little bit in both passports and I found my self stuck with below situation:
A) In Marriage contract,Jordanian passport and DV lottery application (Name1).
B) In Bsc degree and Palestinian passport(Name2).
We still haven’t filled the DS-260 form. My question is this gonna be a problem and if yes what should we do?
Thanks in advance.
June 12, 2020 at 1:04 am
It’s not a big problem especially as you are just the derivative – just use your own judgement.
June 12, 2020 at 10:55 am

June 24, 2020 at 9:14 pm
Hi Brit ,
What does it mean in some years when the bultin is current for a month and after be limited to a number , for exemple AFRICA 2018 in au August it was current and after in september 39500?
June 25, 2020 at 12:08 am
Please read the article above including clicking the link to the article that explains how to read the bulletin.
June 24, 2020 at 10:04 pm
Hi Brit.
Appreciate all you do for those of us who are lost in this process and ate seeking guidance.
1. My case no is oceania 2222 is that high or low?
2. Will i have a better chance to secure an earlier interview date in Apia? Since i live here. As they usually have lessor numbers compared to Fiji? I have been given a choice.
June 25, 2020 at 12:13 am
1. Who knows. I don’t even know the year.
2. Doesn’t matter. Cases are processed by case number, numbers are assigned by region.
June 25, 2020 at 12:54 am

July 4, 2020 at 3:31 am
Hello
I got a case number OC13##, I don’t understand the whole visa bulletin numbers.
Could you clarify if this is a good number with a early interview date?
Or will I be on the back end of any interviews?
Thank you in advance
July 4, 2020 at 5:53 pm
It’s medium. Highest OC number is about 3250

July 10, 2020 at 10:20 pm
We don’t have any information about selectee numbers right now. So – it is too soon. Wait until we have some more info (within a few days hopefully).
July 16, 2020 at 8:18 pm
Hi Brit. I won the dv 2021AF00053## . Is there any chance for interview? Thanks
July 16, 2020 at 9:07 pm

July 24, 2020 at 3:46 pm
Hi Brit,

And when shall i send the required documents?
July 24, 2020 at 4:17 pm
You can submit anytime.
You will be asked to send documents later.

July 30, 2020 at 10:15 pm
It is too soon to know – in a few weeks we should know more.
August 23, 2020 at 10:52 pm

August 25, 2020 at 12:18 am
Yes you should be OK, the late submission is no problem.
August 24, 2020 at 8:20 pm
Dear Brit,
As the ban is valid right now till Jan, 2021, why USCIS does not make it numbers CURRENT ?
I totally understand that they calculate the cutoff number based on some assumptions, but USCIS is making money with applications. Don’t they have to process more to make more money ?
Thank you,
AB.
August 25, 2020 at 4:56 am
It’s not about the money. They don’t “make” anything from this process. They don’t go current because they have to slowly work through the year in an organized manner.
August 25, 2020 at 7:37 am
Hi Brit,
My family is one of winner DV 2020 The case number is 2020AS00021XXX do you know about when the embassy work again for interview .you know as well because COVID-19
the Kabul embassy stopped the work . if the embassy do not take my family interview . it will expire all interview on 30 September . do you know the US. government will update the time of interview or not ?
August 25, 2020 at 10:40 pm
Everyone is blocked by the immigrant ban. There is a hearing on a legal challenge to that ban on Thursday, so wait for news after that.
August 26, 2020 at 4:57 am
Hi Brit!
My case number is AS6XXX I have been summited DS-260 and received email ask for supporting documents but I have unlocked DS-260 form and summited again.
1.Do I need to wait for another email to send supporting document or I can send it now?
2.As I am a single selectee I will show my bank statement around $10,000 does the U.S Embassy ask where this money come from? If my mom give me this money is it ok or not?
3.Since my case still processing and my case number still not yet become current, when do you think the best time to let my relative fill form I-134?Does I-134 form have deadline?
4.Do you think is it better to wait until the election done to continue process my case or just process it because I have low case number?
August 26, 2020 at 7:43 pm
1. You don’t need to be asked again.
2. You should get an I-134 to reduce risk. But if you go with savings only, you may need documentation from your mother than says the money is a non repayable gift.
3. You present it at the interview – so get it ready for then.
4. Your choice.
September 10, 2020 at 6:26 pm
Hello brit, I called kcc do you think it is convenient to resend the documents? they told me that they cannot see if they were received or not, but they also say that if I do not have the Ok they will not process my case and we sent everything approximately 6 months ago. our embassy is in chile and there are few selected.(I am from SA high number)
September 10, 2020 at 11:51 pm
So if you are group 5, then you have almost no chance. The only hope is an extension – which is being requested, but is not very likely to be granted.
September 17, 2020 at 2:54 pm
Greetings Mr Brit,
I am a Winner of DV 2020, with CN 2020AF7××××,I played with my wife but in the process her passport came out in March then we scan sent
1) Since then I have heard nothing from KCC, I called KCC on Tuesday and they told me my documents have been received but not yet process,. What should I do now should i Rescan all my documents and that of my wife and sent ?
2) Please Sir, can you equally link my case to a lawsuit ?
3) Again can you link my case as Mission Critical ?
September 17, 2020 at 7:51 pm
So it sounds like you are in my group 5, where you are not “ready for scheduling”. That means your only hope is if there is an extension.
September 21, 2020 at 11:44 pm
Hello Brit,
Will it be normal that the VB gets published in the very end of the month? Or it is just affected by judge’s order this month(Visa Bulletin October 2020) Wanting to know the latest cutoff number for DV2021…
Thank you
September 21, 2020 at 11:46 pm
The VB covers a lot more than DV – 95% of immigration is not DV.
So – it’s late, but that is not a problem. Relax and be patient.
September 21, 2020 at 11:54 pm
Glad to hear that is not a problem.
Alright, I’ll keep waiting, thanks.
Stay safe.
September 23, 2020 at 10:38 am
Interview appointment, sentember 24 2020.
could not pass the border, although all the documents were in order. and air tickets to Georgia have been canceled. submit a request for an online submission. right now I will say goodbye to baku
September 25, 2020 at 6:01 am
Hi Mr Britsimon,
My case number is DV2021 As185XX.
I know there is a big uncertainty that my number go current.
In case i get a chance could you please advise me on until when it is safe to wait to chose between AOS or consular process?
Thanks a lot
September 25, 2020 at 12:47 pm
You can wait until early next year, then decide.
September 28, 2020 at 2:57 am
Hi, i won the lottery and case number is 2021AS000097XX . is it too high for the interview?
September 28, 2020 at 6:37 pm
No.
September 28, 2020 at 11:13 pm
Hi Brit,
With my case number AF31xxx (DV2021), I understand my interview wouldn’t be scheduled now but my question is;
1. I have filed for a police report which is valid for six months (June-Dec 2020) after submitting the DS form. Is it likely I will get a notification anytime soon for it to submitted together with my supportive documents.
2. My passport expires next year 2021 (June). Knowing that as a requirement to apply for a visa, passport validity must be six and above. what submission if my supportive docs is been requested lets say next year? Do I need to get a new police certificate and renew my passport before I submit? What do you advise?
Thanks and regards,
Thms.
September 29, 2020 at 4:09 am
1. Yes. The CO will consider it valid up to 12 months.
2. renew at least the passport, and then take old and new to the interview.
September 29, 2020 at 5:07 pm
Thanks very much ?
October 8, 2020 at 1:48 pm
hi Simon,do you think we have any chance for an interview at AF 72000?
October 8, 2020 at 10:03 pm
All you can do is wait and see.
October 10, 2020 at 7:13 am
Hi Mr. Simon,
Does DS 2020 interviews over ?
The cutoff was 18450 on May, Isn’t that too early to be current whole the rest?
I am 2020AS00024207 and thought I will get an interview.
October 10, 2020 at 7:24 pm
COVID and Trump’s bans stopped DV2020, but we are fighting for some more visas. However, if you have not paid attention to what is going on, it’s likely you will not have done anything to give yourself a chance. For example, did you send documents? Did you get the ready for scheduling email?
