I’ve gathered the Historical Visa Bulletin Numbers from various sources for a few years to give an idea of progression in previous years and I will maintain these numbers as future Visa Bulletins are released.
Knowing visa bulletin progression is sometimes a useful reference, and is certainly interesting. To use the data, click the tab for the region you are interested in and check the cutoff number for the month.
There may be some similarities with number progress from year to year, but there may not. So – don’t rely on these numbers as a predictive guide for this year. One thing that confuses people is that the selected numbers vary each year depending on entries and other factors. For instance, certain countries in the past have had huge entry numbers and once those countries are excluded from the lottery the range of numbers selected changes from one year to the next. That was the case in 2014 to 2015 in AF region when Nigeria was excluded, or in Asia in 2012 to 2013 when Bangladesh was excluded.
To understand how to read the Visa Bulletin works and can be read – please check out this article.
What does CURRENT mean? That is published when KCC believes that there are enough visas for all remaining demand. All case numbers can then be interviewed.
If you prefer a direct link to the data you can see that here.

Hi Simon Hope you’re doing well thanks for the job your are doing for us.
Please any prediction for the last VB for 2025.
1. Is there a high probability for Current?
2. Is there a probability that they will take up to 80000?
3. When VB goes current are the 2NLs sent Randomly or does it follow a line up?
4. Do you have an idea of how many visa have been given up to now as far as AF is concern.
Thanks for your reply.

I have explained numerous times that the government have created an underfilling situation – meaning they will waste some visas. They may be planning to underfill, or they may try to give away all the visas (causing a big jump). I don’t know. We will know this coming week.

When I applied for DV lottery I was in Amsterdam, and embassy in my application is there.
However, I moved to another country before the results came in.
is it possible to schedule the interview in embassy that’s different than the initial embassy you applied with?
June 30, 2025 at 13:09
Yes. You typically interview where you live.

If I get married after winning the green card lottery, but before submitting DS260, could that raise some red flags? Relationship with my partner is genuine, we have photos / flights / bookings but have not been living together on paper.
Also, would this increase processing time and make the process harder / increase the risk of not getting the interview?

No problem.

DV2026EU16XXX What do you think, is it a safe number (Belgrade)? Would submitting DS260 around August 2026 be okay?
Judging from past years, it looks like I might expect an interview from March / April 2026.
Thanks!
June 23, 2025 at 14:03
Submitting in August 2025, not 2026 would be ok. And you already know about numbers…

June 18, 2025 at 11:44
No idea because you haven’t given your region
June 18, 2025 at 16:07
I am writing from Türkiye for the EU quota. Thank you for your DV2025 EU236** answer.
June 19, 2025 at 04:55
Ok, that number will go current so your embassy location is key. IN Ankara, there is no chance for that number.

Hello Simon.
Is there any chance for the AS179XX case?
Because according to the progress I see, the chances are not that good.
Thanx

my number is 2025AS00026734. but above it shows region selected is less than 26000. what does that mean
May 30, 2025 at 15:50
There are holes (gaps) between the case numbers.
May 27, 2025 at 11:01
Hello Simon
I have benefited greatly from your information. I am a Moroccan living in the UAE, and my case number is above 67,000.
Which U.S. Embassy or Consulate would you recommend I choose on my DS-260 form for the visa interview?
Thank you very much for your help.
May 27, 2025 at 13:51
The one local to you, and then change later if that is needed. FYI, you should always add year and region to your number to make it meaningful

Hello simon I am a winner of the lottery for the fiscal year 2025. My case number is 2025Af5051* At the Algerian Embassy, the last date we know that he received 2NL when he wrote to kcc is AF42.7K. So do I have a chance? I know it’s a stupid question, but based on your experience in this field, what is my chance of getting an appointment? If it’s 0%, I accept that. Thank you.

I don’t know what will happen next – let’s wait and see.
May 18, 2025 at 22:40
Hello,
Can u predict case number for DV2025 go up to over 19,000?
May 19, 2025 at 17:28
There are two visa bulletins left. Obviously it will go up from the 19K we are at today – but I don’t know how high.
May 21, 2025 at 01:57
Dear Simon,
Hopefully, you will know the reason why visa bulletin go slow. If you know, pls share me the information.
Thanks,

I talk about this on many of my videos, for instance my last live. Please watch that for a full explanation.
May 14, 2025 at 14:23
Hi Simon,
My case number is DV2026EU28XXX, and after submitting the DS-260 forms, I transferred my case from Turkey to Vienna, Austria.
Based on historical data, how likely is it that our case number may not become current, or that the available visas will be exhausted before our turn?
Thanks in advance.
May 14, 2025 at 16:14
It is far too early to know that. You are at least a year away from being current and we will have more info in August of 2025, then even more in January 2026.
