This visa bulletin covers July interviews.
This is the earliest we have seen a VB released. I’m disappointed that they have not included the DV-2017 stats – they might update it in a few days….
For those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, they can expect their 2NL in about 2 (maybe 3) weeks from now. I know I am going to get a lot of people who will ask me this exact question – so let me say that again. 2NLs for JULY interviews will be sent in about two or three weeks time. They will include interviews for cases that have been made current in this latest visa bulletin AND backlog cases that were already current last month but the DS260 was submitted late.
The backlog seems to be massively reduced now so progress from now on can be largely due to new VB numbers, not backlog.
Read this link if you are unsure how to read the visa bulletin.
AFRICA – 43,825(Last month 34400)
ASIA – 10550(Last month 8000)
Except Nepal – 6725(Last month 6200)
EUROPE – CURRENT (Last month 34,000) Finally!
OCEANIA – CURRENT(Last month 1100) Finally!
SOUTH AMERICA, and the CARIBBEAN – CURRENT (Last month 1175)
Current = enough visas for the remaining demand.
GREAT NUMBERS for AF and AS regions. Super news for SA!

May 19, 2016 at 23:27
Nice!
May 19, 2016 at 22:50
Hallo Brit. I wanna change my interview’s place from France to Algeria. I heard that I should send an email to the Kentucky center but I don’t know what should I write exactly .please help me with this problem sir
Thanks
May 19, 2016 at 23:44
And I assume you are not scheduled yet – correct?
You have to unlock and provide a current address in Algeria. Then resubmit and email KCC informing them you would like to interview in Algeria.
May 20, 2016 at 06:36
Not yet my case number is AF00051XXX
May 19, 2016 at 16:57
Thanks Brit. We got married before entering the DV lottery program 2016, we have a two years old son, we have proof of our relationship in photos, no fake documents and above all i as principal applicant have a High School Diploma: Cameroon Advanced Levels Certificate.
Just worried because we do not want to miss out.
Advice please…..
May 19, 2016 at 17:03
Advice about what?
May 19, 2016 at 15:47
Brit,
When can we expect the 2NL for July Interviews (DV2016 SA12XX). I’m freacking out because of the Caracas Embassy announcement about not having enough CO to attend the demand on B1/B2 visas. Can it cause some delay?
May 19, 2016 at 16:36
As it says above “2NLs for JULY interviews will be sent in about two or three weeks time. “
May 19, 2016 at 14:35
Good day Sir,
I have a little worry. On my husbands birth certificate, his fathers name is not mentioned on it. His father never showed up. Later on his mother got married and since then my husband has always looked upon his mothers husband as his father.
When filling his form DS 260, he did not include the name of his father because on all his official documents his fathers name is never mentioned.
Now my worry is that on our marriage certificate, in area of name of father, the name of his step father who was represented was included in it. Will that cause any problem during the interview ? Or should i go and ask the official to delete the name of my step father on our marriage certificate and leave that space blank?
Truly, my husband has always looked upon his step father as his father and we even gave our child his name.
What should we do ?
May 19, 2016 at 14:41
It’s not a problem.
May 19, 2016 at 13:25
hi simon,
i have some question regarding my interview.:
My interview is in July 10, my case no is 2016AS****5902. I am preparing document for my interview as me and my wife is in the process. me (Applicant) my father had expired 8 years ago in accident and i don’t have his citizenship but i do have my father’s death certificate, which had in 2008. Do i need to present my father and mother citizenship at my interview or not.
if i need to present my father’s citizenship at interview then it is difficult to make the citizenship.
or can i only submit my father death certificate.
what can i do in this situation i need your guidelines.
May 19, 2016 at 13:35
You don’t need your parents documents.
May 19, 2016 at 11:01
Hello britsimon, my sponsor is my cousin but she told me that it is her husband who is hesitating about the return tax income because he does not want to disclose his social security number, I have never been in the Usa so I don’t know how sensitive is this information but I m cousin is willing to give us the return tax income and hide his husband social security number on it. I would like to know if it is fine? And in case it is I can get the return tax income, is there any other documents which can replace that in order to support the affidavit of support?
May 19, 2016 at 13:25
It sounds like you have no choice – but you have the risk I mentioned earlier.
May 18, 2016 at 07:41
Good day Dear Britsimon, I m current for June interview. I have ask to my sponsor for affidavit of support ( I 134 form, return tax income and copy of ID). The problem is she is hesitating to give me the return taxe income because it shows her social security number and her husband social security number. She suggested me to hide it but don t know if the embassy will accept. My other question is to know if she can send me all this documents through email or she need to post it. I would be glad to receive any suggestion from you on this mater.
May 18, 2016 at 08:13
Hi Iness, thank you for posting this! It is a very fundamental query, let’s wait to read from Britsimon and sorry for mixed up frustrations.
May 18, 2016 at 15:29
The basis of the affidavit of support is financial support from a family member or friend who would conceivably be prepared to support you. A I-134 from a stranger is useless. So – how do you convince the CO that this person is close enough to you to support you, but won’t reveal their SSN to you?
May 18, 2016 at 23:06
Thank you for your answer, that helps too.
What about email it or post it ?
May 19, 2016 at 03:46
Mail
May 19, 2016 at 05:31
Hello Britsimon, In reference to Form A I-134, do you think it really matters whether it is printed on single or double sided? or what to you suggest? Then, if it can be notarized, is it still (a) okay, (b) not necessary, (c) very important or what would you recommend if it were you?
May 19, 2016 at 05:41
You are asking about trivial details. Notarized = not necessary.
May 17, 2016 at 22:57
Hello Mr Simon. Thank you for your great help. Is there any way to see my initial dv entry with photos? My case n as81xx
May 18, 2016 at 00:46
No.
May 17, 2016 at 22:34
dear brit hello
if i may ask one question
in my country the airline doesnt allow people who hv the temporary i551 stamp which the immigration stamp yr passport with till you get the fiscal green card to travel on their planes ////
so can i apply for the reentry permit form i 131 while i am in the states ? and do you know how long does it take to be issued ?
hope my questions are not away from the dv area ….
thank you sir
May 17, 2016 at 22:37
That is a strange reason to get an I-131. Better to use the official documents to show the airline why they can accept the I-551. But anyway, to apply for the I-131 takes a couple of months.
May 17, 2016 at 13:53
Hi,Brit! Please I need to know which name should be written on the affidavit of support? Is it the corrected name on ds260 or the one on the original edv entry? Thanks for your understanding.
May 17, 2016 at 14:21
Real name (corrected)
May 17, 2016 at 13:09
HI brit,
I have 2 questions if u don’t mind
1- what’s the priority date ? (It’s required when confirming the appointment to the US embassy after receiving the 2nl letter )
2- what category of visa should I select when confirming the appointment DV1, DV2 or DV3 (I am the main applicant with a wife and two children accompanying me ) ?
Thank u
May 17, 2016 at 14:23
1. Use case number.
2. DV1 is you, DV2 is spouse, DV3 is child.
May 17, 2016 at 14:43
But brit, it is supposed to be a date right ?
Becoz they want it in the form dd/mm/yy !!!
What do u think ?
Thanx again
May 17, 2016 at 15:08
I don’t know what form you are completing. If they need a date put today.
May 17, 2016 at 01:26
hi sir. i am going to add my newly born child tomorrow and also change my sponcers address im current for july and i m form nepal. Does it effect in receiving 2nd letter with in time? please suggest what should i do..
May 17, 2016 at 04:03
They may not unlock given they are probably already scheduling July interviews. If not, you will have to contact the embassy once the 2NL has been sent.
May 16, 2016 at 09:56
MARRIED 2013, GOT CERTIFICATE 2016; WILL THER BE A PROBLEM DURING INTERVIEW? CURRENT FOR JULY CN # AF3878@
May 16, 2016 at 14:46
I don’t know. The CO will decide.
May 15, 2016 at 19:27
When I filling out the form DS-260 I made a mistake and put medical\health instead of student. I’m a medical student. should I change it or will it be fine.
May 15, 2016 at 21:16
Change it.
May 15, 2016 at 05:21
Hi brti , thanks for you helping the humanity and entire world , i have one silly question please ,
I got a new passport and i wanted to replace the old one as its expiring in November plus that my case number is 46000 and i m expecting of August Interview , so my question is can i ask for unlocking so that i can make the corrections or i leave the way its and take the two passports to the embassy during the interview probably August or September.
Thanks
May 15, 2016 at 15:12
Take both passports, no need to unlock.
May 14, 2016 at 15:41
Hi Brit,
Probably a silly question, about legalization of birth certificate: is it the original birth certificate or the copy that needs to be legalized?
May 14, 2016 at 15:54
Copy
May 14, 2016 at 12:08
Dear Mr.brit,
Just Clarify me that
01.what is the requirement for sponsor for I 134 i meant,is it enough that he is PR holder,or is there any requirement limit of income.
02form 1044 meant annual tax return right, scanned copy of that is enough?

May 14, 2016 at 07:08
Hello Brit, I got a;little query that needs your clarification. Because in at most cases, as it has been, the 2NL do take approximately 2 weeks after each VB release. From that time that one receives 2NL, what is the schedule margin ( in terms of either weeks or days) till the appointment interview date? Thanks!
May 14, 2016 at 14:15
6 to 8 weeks roughly.
May 13, 2016 at 19:01
Cameroon need I- 134?
May 13, 2016 at 19:14
Not always, but sometimes.

How I do to interroge my satut ceac
May 13, 2016 at 19:12
If you are DV2017 you cannot check yet. For DV2016, enter your case number without leading zeros
May 13, 2016 at 18:46
Who was interroged my status of CEAC
May 13, 2016 at 13:17
Dear Sir
The VB for July 2016 already came out but for a number of regions the word current appears. What does that mean? My CN is 2016SA130XX
May 13, 2016 at 13:18
Current means there are enough visas for all remaining demand and all cases in that region can now be scheduled.
May 13, 2016 at 11:07
Hi Brit,
This is my case number 2016AF37xxx but my status is still reading NVC
May 13, 2016 at 12:16
Normal. It only changes when 2NLs are sent.
May 13, 2016 at 02:21
Hello simon,
Will there be any increase in the numbers for Nepal in the remaining two visa bulletins or its going to be constant?
May 13, 2016 at 02:23
No one knows.
May 13, 2016 at 00:22

May 13, 2016 at 00:32
You can pay in the USA. Doing so will delay delivery of your GC a little – but that is not really a problem.
May 13, 2016 at 17:49
dear brit
hello one question please
lis the a number on the dv immigrant visa is going to be the number of the ss card ????
i know its strange question but my brother is making a sub credit card for me and they asked for my ss no for that i am asking

May 13, 2016 at 19:17
The SSN is assigned by the SSA, and has no relation to any other number.
May 12, 2016 at 23:26
Thank u sir for all what u do
For many of us you are just a very good site for diversity visa, but for a very tiny minority also u are the last streak of hope in there life
There is nothing that I can do to pay back what u do, I hope in some day I can return the favor
Thanx again
May 12, 2016 at 22:02
Hi Simon,
CN 2016AF46xxx
Was just reviewing DS260 submitted in January, and noticed a spelling mistake in my mother’s middle name, and first name, she normally uses a different first name from that on her birth certificate. So it is a bit different to that on my long form birth certificate which has her details. Should I unlock and correct or address it at time of interview?
Many Thanks,
Matthew
May 12, 2016 at 22:30
Either way is fine. You have time to correct it now – but it won’t be a problem either way….
May 12, 2016 at 20:02
Hi Brit,
I was selected in the DV2016, my case number is 2016SA14XX, send my form DS-260 on May 15, 2015. My question is, how it came CURRENT, there is possibility that although I have a case number high receive my 2NL right now in July as send my DS-260 early?
May 12, 2016 at 22:32
You will get your 2NL at the same time as everyone else – for a July interview.
May 12, 2016 at 19:11
Hi Birt, is my number save :2016AF000355 *** for July interview .Pls i need an answer. Thanks for the help!

That is answered above.
May 12, 2016 at 18:50
Dear Sir,
Good day
Is $ 10,000 enough for one adult without the existence of the form I-134???
I heard from one of my friends that the presence of the sponsor (form I-134) increased the possibility of getting the Visa???
Thanks in advance
May 12, 2016 at 19:41
$10k may be enough, but yes, having the I-134 is safer.
May 12, 2016 at 14:39
Hi my case no is 81xx. My husband is the winner from roa asia. We submitted the ds260 in may15 . My husband was in other country. Me and my 2 children moved there in august. I asked to unlock the forms and me and my 2 childrens residence changed in april 1 st. So my question is that changing adress from my home country to another country as derivatives cause delay for the interview?
May 12, 2016 at 15:17
Probably not.
May 12, 2016 at 14:11
When is tha second letter for current numbers this month
May 12, 2016 at 15:17
Read above.
May 12, 2016 at 13:58
BritSimon,
AS201600009XXX
I am almost done with my AoS Package. The only thing that is left is the receipt from DV Administration Fee Payment. I sent the payment (Money Order), alongside a self-addressed USPS Priority Mail Express Overnight stamped envelope this Monday also using USPS Priority Mail Express Overnight, the tracking number states that it was received by an agent in St. Louis, MO.
The instructions noted that it may take 2 – 4 weeks to get back the payment receipt.
Once I get the payment receipt, I will also send the AoS Package using USPS Priority Mail Express Overnight.
According to June Visa Bulletin Board, the cut offs for my number will be applied in July (Asia 10,550).
I have a few questions:
1. Lets assume I will get my DV Payment Receipt in June. Do you think it is better to do Early Filling Policy? Or just wait until July? Since the instructions mentioned “Some FOs are still denying petitions considered filed prior to the CN being current, regardless of what the Early Filing Memo says…”
2. If I decided to send the AoS Package in July, do you think I will make it in time doing all the processing before September Fiscal Year ends?
3. Related to no. 2, in the instructions, it was stated that “Higher CN + higher number of selectees from one’s home country could result in all the visas being used up by the time of interview (highly possible but often rare)”. Does the AoS Package being sent in July will make this risk higher?
4. Is there anything else I should be concerned about?
May 12, 2016 at 15:20
1. Early – rejections are very rare.
2. Yes, but June gives you more breathing room.
3. Yes.
4. World peace. Trump. Lots of things.
May 12, 2016 at 17:00
4. Very legitimate concerns
May 12, 2016 at 13:37
Hello Brit,
I want to know What address should I put in my record DS260.
in the form I134, my sponspor has the address of his residence (ATLANTA), and in the form f1040 he put the address of the place where he works (PENNSYLVANIA).
May 12, 2016 at 15:46
Atlanta.

May 11, 2016 at 20:16
HI brit,
Thank u for ur help again
I am preparing the docs for the interview so I have visited the US embassy website and I found that they require the form I- 864 ( of course I will prepair the form I-134 according to your FAQ), but they also want me to prepaid a form called IRS-1040 :
1- what’s that ?
2- should I ask my sponsor to fill that also?
Thank u
May 11, 2016 at 22:00
They mention the I864 for other types of cases NOT DV.
1. The 1040 is an annual tax filing form the sponsor will have.
2. He/she will have it.
May 12, 2016 at 17:15
Another question sir
My friend in usa told me that the IRS-1040 that he has is for the year 2015, but on the website it should be of the same yr of the interview!
How can we solve that ?
Thank u
May 12, 2016 at 19:45
2015 is the most recent tax year.
May 12, 2016 at 22:14
Last question sir
I know that I am bothering u, but we are a Christian family running away from ISIS, I will always remember a great man who helped me secure my family called brit Simon
Does it have to be an I 134 for every one of the family or just one form for the whole family ?
Thank u for ur patience
May 12, 2016 at 22:29
One form covers the whole family.
May 11, 2016 at 20:15
Hi Mr.britsimon,
I am current now for July interview from asia but I submitted my DS260 on May 2015 and I unlocked my form on 22 February.
Did it effect my interview on July or I will receive the 2NL within 15 days.
Thanks in advance..
May 11, 2016 at 20:35
My case number AS95XX
May 11, 2016 at 22:00
You will get your 2NL by the end of the month.
May 11, 2016 at 18:34
So, I got my green card. What next? I plan to move to Chicago (I have many relatives there).
Is it possible to find a job via Internet (I’m from Western Europe), or should I at first immigrate and start looking there. I have a master’s degree (non technical). Maybe someone want to share their exeriences : I’m so excited and confused at the same time…
May 11, 2016 at 17:56
Dear britt
I would like first to thank you for your continious support.I would like to have your advise.
-Can I keep my work as a flight attendant based on a gulf country while having the green card .I do fly to the us so often with my current job or will I be having issues at the us immigration.thank you once again.
May 11, 2016 at 18:36
The DV lottery is for a Green Card. To live and work in the USA. It is not a visitors visa. There are downsides (such as tax reporting) to the responsibilities of being an LPR (Green Card holder). So – if you don’t intend to live in the USA, don’t process the DV lottery win.
May 11, 2016 at 13:30
Hello Simon… a quick one here: from your previous analyses, was the overall response rate for the AF selectees? Thanks
May 11, 2016 at 13:58
I don’t have that to hand. I’ll take a look when I can. The one thing I would say is that it is not a simple number. Ghana for instance has a higher chance of refusal than approval. So – if there are many selectees from Ghana (as there are) their low success rate skews the numbers. As those Ghana cases are at the low end, the regional refusal rate improves once Ghana is out. See what I mean – complex. So – I have not taken the AF regional approval rate seriously for some time – and prefer to do it by country.
May 11, 2016 at 15:38
Thanks Simon, I actually meant the percentage of people who turn up for the interview.
May 11, 2016 at 15:40
We don’t know that accurately.
May 11, 2016 at 15:50
https://britsimonsays.com/dv2016-analysis-response-rate/
May 11, 2016 at 15:40
Sorry i mean the percentage of people who respond by filling the DS 260 form in this region. Thanks
May 11, 2016 at 11:46
Hello Brit,
Is it possible that the KCC repeats the same number for the visa bulletin? Meaning they repeat the same 43825 for Africa. Has is ever happened ?
May 11, 2016 at 14:04
Yes that has happened (but I doubt that will happen for AF this month).
May 11, 2016 at 10:54
I read in several places that when you go to the appointment you must be logged in ustraveldocs and bring the registration form, my husband who is the applicant was recorded but not issued any registration form on the other hand we have attempted to enter several times and tells us to review the data to see if they are correct and if they are. My biggest concern is that not issue any registration form.
May 11, 2016 at 14:07
Just register with the site. It is only for the courier.
May 11, 2016 at 09:38
Hello Brit,
What is the procedure to make an Affidavit of support to sponsor a Dv family case. My friend in the US wants to prepare one for us and he does not know how to go about it.
Please tell us how to apply for one.
When applying should the applicant mention only the name of the principal applicant, or should he add the names of the other family members in the affidavit ?
Kind regards,
May 11, 2016 at 14:11
Your answers are in the FAQ – (link above)

May 11, 2016 at 15:32
Should be enough money.
Could be anytime in July
May 10, 2016 at 23:08

May 10, 2016 at 22:47
Thanks for your reply , I don’t understand the policy of Us government, who explode himself , shooting to people and goes straight to ny towers were not from my country and we all know who they are, so those people could easily come there in any ways but our people because of political views difrences are more dangerous, sounds interesting , any way God save america , we love your country

hi sir ,again one more question -the one who is going to receive us in usa has changed his address but we have filled his old address now he is in new place..and we are current for july interview so sir am worried about that problem so what is the solution what should we (from nepal,)
May 10, 2016 at 21:30
Dear Sir,
Good day
According to the cut off Number my interview will be in July. I’m waiting for the second letter.
1. I got a new passport because the old one had expired which I mentioned in form DS 260
2. Surname in the old passport repeated of the third name, and this was a decision from the Passports Department in Baghdad in 2008 when it issued a passport.
But now in the new passport the surname is written as in the National Identify card and in the Certificate Identify.
Do I have to correspond Kentucky Center and inform them about it
Or leave it up to the day of the interview???
Thanks in advance
May 10, 2016 at 21:32
Take old and new passports to the interview and discuss the names issue with the CO.
May 10, 2016 at 18:34
