The June visa bulletin has been released. This is for JULY interviews.
As we can see the regions that were already current are still current and progress has been made on the limited countries. Two countries (Iran and Ethiopia) have been removed from the EXCEPT list, which means they are now current like the rest of the countries in their regions. Current means there are enough visas for remaining cases – so all cases in Ethiopia and Iran can now relax about their case numbers. Egpyt and Nepal will have two months left to see what number they can get to. I do NOT have a prediction for those two countries – so all I can say is “wait and see”.
For those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, they can expect their 2NL in about 1 to 2 weeks from now. I know I am going to get a lot of people who will ask me this exact question – so let me say that again. 2NLs will be sent in about one or two weeks time – that means the latter part of the month. The schedule is that VBs are published between the 8th and the 15th of each month, and 2NLs go out from the 15th to the end of the month (most typically around the 20th to 24th). This is the same every month, so there is no need to ask me.
As we know the 2NLs for last month were delayed, so that might cause a delay of the 2NLs for this month. KCC must still have a lot of work to do in dealing with the rescheduling of interviews previously cancelled.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means (for Nepal and Egypt ).
Processing is spread out over the full year. You can see the progress of the two previous years in this post about basic questions. However, some countries have a high number of selectees and those selectees are concentrated in the lower case numbers. For various reasons, mainly to do with embassy capacity, KCC slow down certain countries as compared to the region. So – in Africa, any case with a case number shown as under the new number can be interviewed but for cases from Egypt, that number is lower. That isn’t a big problem, it just “slows down” those countries a little more than the rest of the region. Since selectees from those countries all have lower case numbers, this slowing down does not present any risk. It does not (at this point) mean they won’t allow all selectees an interview from those countries.
To understand why some countries get lower case numbers, read this article about the lottery draw process.
Read this link if you are unsure how to read the visa bulletin.

June 23, 2017 at 14:11
All you documents need to be official documents. Part of your refusal was the way you answered questions. You created an impression that you were lying in an embassy that sees a lot of people refused for lying. So – enter again – but I don’t know how to make your case safer.

Administrative Processing
Immigrant Visa Case Number: 2017AF5860
Case Created: 14-Oct-2015
Case Last Updated: 17-Jan-2017
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for “Diversity Visas” cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.
WHAT SHLD I DO NOW?
June 23, 2017 at 09:54
Hi BRIST, IM 2017 WINNER. I HAD MY INTERVIEW ON THE 17 OF JAN 2017. I WANT TO SHARE HOW MY INTERVIEW WENT. I DINT GET IT BUT WHEN CHECKING MY VISA STATUS AT THE WEBSITE IT SAYS MY APPLICATION IS ON AP. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THAT. IV SENT THEM SEVERA EMAILS AND CALLED THEM NO RESPOND. IM IN GHANA.
PLS FIND BELOW HOW THE INTERVIEW WENT
:
CO: helow Sir
Me: hello Sir.
CO: How old are you?
ANS: Im 25 years old.
Co: Have you travel to the U.S. before?
Ans: No
CO: have you travel to Malaysia before?
Ans: No.
Co: What did you want to do in Malaysia in 2015 when you applied for the visa?
Ans: I wanted to have holidays. Before one week to my depature, I got ill so I couldn’t make the trip.
CO: What is the currency of Malaysia?
Ans: I’ve forgotten the currency they use, but I would have used the USD since its international currency.
CO: You took the high school exams twice, 2011 and 2012?
Ans: Yes I did.
Co: Why do u have your D.O.B in that of 2011 12/07/1991 and 07/12/1991 in that of 2012?
I dont get it?
Ans: Well all my documents have 07/12/1991.
With that of 2011 its the same, it can mean mm/dd/yyyy.
Co: What was your age when you took the exams in 2012?
ANS: Mmmm, I was then 20 years since my D.O.B is 07/12/1991. I was still 20years.
CO: Why do you have N Y on your High school certificate not NANAYAW?
Ans: When people are typing my name, they type it NANA YAW and all NANA YAW in Ghana is spelled Nana Yaw, but how I spell my differ from what people generally write theirs. With regards to my name NANAYAW, I write it as you see it on my birth certificate as well as my pasport. Honestly speaking, that N Y you seeing is me NANAYAW, I have affidavit to support it.
Co: You are unable to identify yourself
Ans: That’s untrue. I have evidence to prove you wrong. Have a look at it.
Co: Im sorry, we cant give you a visa.
ANS: thank you.
Base on the communications, the CO dint allow me to prove myself that I am the same person.
I am humbly therefore asking for an appeal.
Sincerely your,
Nanayaw A. Agyapong.
June 23, 2017 at 12:49
You can’t appeal. It sounds like the CO believed your documents were fake and that you were lying. I’m surprised your case is AP on CEAC – but I don’t think they are truly still working on your case. It is refused in their eyes.
June 22, 2017 at 11:13
Haloo Brit
can i cancel an email send to kcc to unlock my case if i dont want it to be unclocked
June 22, 2017 at 20:29
You can try.

hi brit,
was at the embassy on Tuesday the 6th, and they asked me to bring my pay slip to prove my working experienced as a teacher, but just checking the status of my visa now, im seeing refused. does that mean they wont give me the visa, its dated 30th of may as my last update, whereas i was at the embassy on the 6th of june. was hoping to see AP. my documents are still at the embassy. have my pay slip here with me, just waiting for Wednesday to deposit it.
thanks
June 10, 2017 at 14:42
I don’t know what that means. Normally refusal is refusal – but follow the instructions you were already given and see what they say.
June 5, 2017 at 10:06

June 3, 2017 at 02:32
Hello Brit I have a small scar on my lung so my interview will be hold untill I clear my medical test since my wife is main applicant do they keep in pending for both or I will be omitted and visa will be issued only to my wife?
June 3, 2017 at 04:59
That is up to you to discuss with the CO.
June 1, 2017 at 23:28
I have a low-ish visa case number 2018OC**6xx in Sydney. Just found out I got selected. I need to obtain police certs from two other countries (uk and greece) as well as Australia and high school scripts etc.
Should I submit my ds 260 asap or wait until all my docs are on hand ready to go?
If it takes a couple of months to get the docos and im called up before years end I might not have sufficient time to get all the docs for the interview?
June 2, 2017 at 00:40
You won’t be interviewed before years end. And it’s June. So – you are safe to submit your DS260 now if you want.
June 2, 2017 at 01:36
Many thanks for your help mate! Much appreciated.
June 25, 2017 at 11:38
You can get the U.K. Pcc in 3weeks with normal service

hello Mr Simon
you posted before the maximum case numbers for the regions
is there any Bulletins for next 2 months for Egypt or it will stop at 28290
May 31, 2017 at 22:37
There are visa bulletins every month, but whether the Egypt number will increase or not, I don’t know.
May 25, 2017 at 18:06
Hi brit, i am very cofused….I emailed the Embassy in ethiopia. If i fill i-864 or i-34 for DV applicants and I had also emailed you at the same time. Your advise was i-34 but the following is what they replay today…….” be aware that Affidavit Of Support(I-134) is not required for DV applicants. More information is available on https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/diversity-visa/interview/prepare-for-the-interview.html
May 25, 2017 at 18:09
They send me the link…please advice
May 25, 2017 at 20:12
Embassies can ask for an I-134 if they feel the case raises concern. If you don’t have an I-134, and are asked to provide it, your case will be delayed. It’s up to you whether to plan ahead to avoid the chance of the delay.
May 22, 2017 at 22:51
Hello BritSimon,
I have another question for you.
Q1. If I resit for two subjects( i.e. private examination for Senior High School Certificate) in which I didn’t perform well and forgot to indicate it in my DS260, would it create a problem for me during my interview?
*I will be carrying the Private Examination Certificate to my interview as well.
NB: I studied at home and sat for the exams as a private candidate.
Hoping to read from you soon my big brother.
May 23, 2017 at 00:15
It is up to the CO to decide.
May 23, 2017 at 07:04
Great brother BritSimon. Thanks a bunch.

KCC started sending Second Letter(Interview Appointment Letter for DV 2017)
May 22, 2017 at 16:56
is physical delivery of signed welcome letter is required or a scanned printout is enough?
May 22, 2017 at 16:07
Hi Brit,
In your opinion, what are the odds of the DV visa being abolished under President Trump? I’ve read he has stated his intention to abolish it, but that’s been a common theme for the past few years (at least since 2012, when the House voted to abolish it). Do you think things will move faster now?
May 22, 2017 at 16:28
I don’t want to try and predict President Chump’s next moves. There are various bills out there that would remove the DV lottery – but again – that doesn’t mean much until those bills are passed by both houses and signed.
May 22, 2017 at 12:05
hi Brit! how many visa had issued from nepal till now? is there possibility to be current all case from nepal for next visa bulletin?
May 22, 2017 at 17:36
1. I don’t know
2. No
May 22, 2017 at 11:20
Thanks so much brother BritSimon.
May 21, 2017 at 23:01
Hello BritSimon,
May I know if a 2017 DV lottery winner who in the past three years applied for NIV visa and was denied but also made a mistake in filling his NIV form stands for denial again when DV lottery is concern?
Issue was:
1. A postal address( e.g. P.O. BOX *****) was used as home address, since that suppose to be his mailing.
2. On the DS260 he put the correct home address(residential) at where it suppose to be and mailing address at the appropriate place.
QUESTION: Would this cause a denial during his DV lottery interview?
Thanks brother BritSimon.
May 22, 2017 at 03:52
That would not cause denial.
May 21, 2017 at 19:46
Hello sir

When one countie is current means all case number got their 2NL on the same time or it can be in different months?(e.g as we now Ethiopia came to Current in this month So all Ethiopian case numbers got their 2NL in this month?)
Sorry about my grammer.
May 21, 2017 at 18:39
this is what i got after emailing kcc about my case status. what is your take on Sir?
“Thank you for your inquiry.
Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check http://www.dvlottery.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.”

May 19, 2017 at 01:44
Dear Mr. Brit Simon
Greetings from Nepal.
First of all Many thanks for your all updates, I’ m following your blog from around 1 years.
My wife is main applicant , I mean Selected for DV2017 & our case visa bulletin has been released this month. Now waiting for 2 NL.
My query is as mentioned below :-
1) As I have travel around 5/6 country during one year interval. So do I have to mention all this during interview or just passport.
2) As I’m mention my education background only up to 12 Board . As I am Engineer. So do I also carry Bachelor Degree also during interview or it’s okay.
Many thanks
Sailesh.
May 19, 2017 at 03:07
1. This should be listed in your travel history.
2. Take degree and high school certificates.
May 19, 2017 at 07:35
Dear Mr.BritSimon
thanks for your reply.
1. I have filled DS 260 around a year back. so when should i list my travel history, or before interview there is any form to fillup travel history.
2. thanks i will take my both degree and high school certificate with me.
May 19, 2017 at 10:42
1. The CO may ask you about travel after the DS260 was completed.
May 19, 2017 at 11:02
so, I have to show & brief them about my travel history after the DS260 was completed ,during mine interview.
thanks
May 21, 2017 at 08:08
But you are not the main applicant(PA), so why send degree and high school certificate? Only the PA will have to demonstrate that.
May 18, 2017 at 22:27
Janet,
Hi sir, I have been leaving with my niece since the age of 3 after she lost her mother. I have never officially adopted her. When I was entering the DV I did with her as my dependent I just read that if the child is not biologically yours then you must have adopted her officially 2yrs b4. What do I do in this case drop her and continue alone ????
May 19, 2017 at 03:36
Well you can’t get a visa for her – so you will have to decide what to do.
May 19, 2017 at 05:05
Thanks for the information just wanted to know if that will not affect my case if I drop her and move on alone.
May 18, 2017 at 16:43
Hi Simon am trying to fill out the DS 260 form and there is this portion which ask about number of education..Well, I actually completed high school few years ago and currently pursuing my BSc in my country. My question is can I just put 1 under that portion due to the fact that I have my high school diploma only no degree yet? Is that okay?
Thanks
May 18, 2017 at 18:43
Yes
May 21, 2017 at 05:44
I have one question. Is the cut off date mentioned in visa bulletin is included? Or the dates before the cut off dates are considered?
May 21, 2017 at 18:00
I only answer DV related questions.
May 18, 2017 at 08:56
Dear simon I’ve been living in my current address for over 16years never moved anywhere else..So do I still need a police report?
