Hi Mr Simon. Greetings. please i asked a question here last weekend but didn’t receive and reply sir. I already received my visa last month. I’ve been trying to login to pay the USCIS for my visa but I keep on seeing this message that one of the number which are Alien and DOS case numbers may be wrong. Please tell me what to do. I’m very nervous. Should I go to the embassy to ask them there or I should keep on trying? I’m a Cameroonian sir
February 14, 2017 at 21:31
I replied to your earlier question.

February 5, 2017 at 16:26
The ban has been removed. Interviews will be rescheduled.
January 31, 2017 at 22:09
Truly permit me share my feelings,I’m confused,my friends filled their forms wdout passport numbers n made it at d interview wdout unblocking their forms before.
2.I kno too of someone who got married before d visa n got implicated at d embassy since they played singly n later on got married, so I’m so much confused now, hope u understand sir?thanks
January 31, 2017 at 23:08
I have told you correct advice. If you choose to believe others without knowing the facts, that is up to you.
January 31, 2017 at 10:39
Wanted to kno if filling ur ds260 form wdout your passport numbers poses any problem, thanks, waiting
January 31, 2017 at 14:32
It is OK as a temporary measure until you later add the passport number.
January 31, 2017 at 21:02
Dat is unblocking the form?if not u won’t b b scheduled?
January 31, 2017 at 21:38
No, I didn’t say that. But if they have no passport number their background checks will not be complete and that might cause concern in the interview.
January 31, 2017 at 10:34
Hello Mr Britt,I have been following ur advises for long ,thank u very much,ur words a so encouraging to some of us,I’m a dv 2017 winner, case number 35000 ,still waiting for an interview, now I wanted to kno if banning d other countries will affect interviews schedules in other countries

Dear Simon,
Thank you so much for this very useful website. We really do appreciate your efforts and patience!
Well, I would like to consult you on the following:
I am from Turkey, with case number EU15XXX (current), submitted the application on 25 Nov 2016 (due to marriage, so I can add my wife as well), and reopened/resubmitted the DS form on 4 Jan 2017(resubmission was due to my wife’s changed passport details bec of surname change etc.)
Now, we are waiting for our interview date, hopefully we will recieve it in late February, for April(??!). But the recent ban on the 7 muslim countries, worries us. Because Iranian candidates are being interviewed in Turkey/Ankara as well… So, the backlog, or a further ban are scaring us.
What do you think? Given our submission/resubmission dates and the ban, when do you think we should expect the 2NL? What do you anticipate about the ban and the affects for Turkey/EU region? We understand it is only a guess, and thank you very much in advance!
Best,
V
PS: I know so many people from Turkey check here as well, so I wanted to ask you the question under this topic.
January 30, 2017 at 15:05
I can’t guess what Trump does next, and I don’t know how KCC will deal with the sudden extra capacity. In reality the ban for Iranians will end at the end of April, so the Iranians not interviewed in February, March and April will need lots of interview slots. That will possibly cause delays in May and beyond – but that is just speculation.
January 30, 2017 at 14:02
Dear Brit
You are a wonderful person and collaborator with everyone. I am from one of the affected country by Trump ban and my visa status still under Ap since 7 November 2016. Assuming that no extended after 90 days and my AP resolve but my Medical examination is going to expire during these 90 days. what embassy is going to ask me to do the medical examination again r what?
I wish I could thank you personally for you amazing effort answering and helping all DV winners.
January 30, 2017 at 16:46
Dear Brit
could you please give me an idea about my question please?
January 30, 2017 at 17:26
Please be patient. I sleep sometimes.
January 30, 2017 at 21:49
LOL LOL LOL
January 30, 2017 at 17:11
Once the ban is lifted and your AP is cleared the embassy will probably instruct you to repeat your medical.
January 31, 2017 at 04:11
Many thanks to you and i am sorry again. God bless you
January 30, 2017 at 08:46

January 30, 2017 at 04:23
Thank you Mr.do you think 2018 winners will continue or trump will also cancel?
January 30, 2017 at 06:37
DV2018 continues.
January 30, 2017 at 04:11
Hi BritSimon,
Do you think that there will be additional draw to fill this ban 7 countries DV visa?
January 30, 2017 at 06:37
Of course not.
January 30, 2017 at 01:45
Hi Simon
Due to some special circumstances i decided to proceed with interview alone as i’m the main applicant without my family although I’ve included my wife and my son into the DS260 Application with this question answered to Yes “Is your spouse immigrating to the US with you?”.
Do you think is that going to affect my application or maybe lead to a refusal for me?also do they need to come with me to the interview ?
January 30, 2017 at 01:50
You can proceed alone with no risk. However, they will not get visas, and it will be slow and expensive to sponsor them later.
January 30, 2017 at 03:43
Thanks for your quick reply,
When i filled the DS2620 i wrote my company address branch in USA as an answer for the following questions:
“Permanent Address where you intend to live after arrival in the United States”
“Is this address where you want your Permanent Residence Card (Green Card) mailed? ,Yes”
Do you think is it ok to use a company address or i need to change it,and is it possible to do that at the interview.
Also is it OK do use any POE at the first entry,Regardless the one in the DS260?
Thanks
Mody
January 30, 2017 at 06:38
Not a company address.
Any POE is fine.
January 30, 2017 at 00:25
Big thanks to Simon, for being such a generous soul, and an incredibly patient one! that doesn’t mean we abuse of his kindness, people plz read his posts before swarming the comments section with unnecessary questions !! i can’t believe those who still ask if they will be affected by the ban, even though they are not from the banned areas, do you watch the news ?? and other dumb questions seriously, plz let the space for people who actually need Simon’s attention.
January 30, 2017 at 01:50
🙂
January 29, 2017 at 23:23
Dear Brit. I’m from Fiji ! Just a question. My husband and i are having our interview on Feb 6th. Do we have to still attend it?? Are we been affected??
January 30, 2017 at 01:52
Did you click and read the link?
January 30, 2017 at 23:50
hi Wendy , attend the interview and tell me how does it go .I am also from Fiji .
January 29, 2017 at 22:31
Hi Brit;
1.Other countries than these 7 won’t be affected, isn’t it ?
2.Feb visa interview won’t be cancelled for other countries,is it ?
3.We will Get Vb ,!?
? thanks
January 30, 2017 at 01:56
1. Other countries are not affected now, but may be in the future, because Trump is an idiot.
2. No
3. Yes.
January 29, 2017 at 21:56
Hi simon I am from Egypt I have interview I’m middle of march but I did mistake when I applied for dv lottery I did not add my son 18yrs old I made a sperate application to Kim when I win I add him in add applicant but I got all members family including him so I need your advice shall I comtinue or I forget subject no need to waste time and money for your information my son he entered usa three times b4 and he has valid visa b1/b2 until 30 Jun 2017 I need your advice thks
January 30, 2017 at 01:59
If you left him off the original entry but included him on the DS260, the embassy have no choice other than to disqualify you. Attending the interview would be a waste of money. There is no doubt.

Thanks.
January 29, 2017 at 19:19
Ok my February interview was cancelled so if the ban didnt extend more than 90 days maybe i have a new interview at May or June
right ?
Thats what i pridected
January 30, 2017 at 02:54
That is possible, yes.
January 29, 2017 at 19:14
Hello Simon, the Statement said” If you are a NATIONAL of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, or Yemen with a Diversity Visa interview appointment in February”, they don’t mention people whom their country of chargeability one of banned countries, do the ban still apply on them ?
January 30, 2017 at 02:54
Yes, because country of birth is what matters.
January 30, 2017 at 07:24
So you say country of birth is what matters..I was born in the UK but with Iraqi nationality..I can’t get the UK passport..which one do they consider?
January 30, 2017 at 07:29
country of birth
Are you a DV selectee?
January 30, 2017 at 08:26
Yes,and i had interview on the first of March and Igot an email from the US embassy that my interview is cancelled.
Note.My country of chargebilty is Iraq and I only have the birth certificate from the UK,I didn’t go there since I was 6.
January 30, 2017 at 17:18
OK, so your case is based on your chargeability to Iraq. Chargeability is normally based on country of birth, so for simplicity I give that answer. In your case the answer is different and they seem to be applying the ban to you. You can try and argue that you should be treated as a UK born person, but since that means you would not be eligible for the lottery anyway, I suggest you just accept the ban for now and hope things improve after the 90 days.
January 29, 2017 at 18:27
Question Simon 🙂
So KCC has suspended our visas until further notice and when the situation is contained everything will be back to normal but here I get lost:
1:They only mentioned February interviews… so does that mean everything is going to be back after Feb or because they only plan interviews a month ahead ? (I think I’ve just answered my self)
2: Let’s say Trump does not extend the ban so this means we only have 90 days ban
but this doesn’t mean there won’t be any interviews for the next three months because our region the Asia region is gonna still be going and people of unaffected countries will be having their interviews and according to the post the canceled interviews if continued will continue according to case numbers so does that mean now we have a three month delay ? like my number is in the 72 hundreds and am estimated to have my interview in May so now it’s in August ? or not ? or it is gonna be a greater delay ?
off subject question 😀 : for how long a I-134 is good and valid ?
Thanks so much Simon for all the hope and info.
January 29, 2017 at 18:34
1. Most March interviews for affected people will be cancelled also.
2. If the order is removed after 90 days (not extended), cases that were cancelled or became current will be scheduled.whilst that means VB processing will assume the affected people still have a visa place, the volume of backlogged visa interviews us bound to cause scheduling difficulties at that time.
The i134 stays valid for a long time but needs updated supporting documents.
January 29, 2017 at 18:38
Sir, You are a legend!
a million thanks 😀

So it is not only for Febraury
January 29, 2017 at 19:50
Sorry not above..in my previous comment where you asked for the email I got.
January 29, 2017 at 20:18
Ah sorry i haven’t seen ot before :S
thanks for sharing 😀
well anyways if the Trumpster does not extend the ban am quite sure we are all getting our interviews abit late but getting them neverthelss considering your number and Wassim’s case numbers are lower than mine since you already recived you 2nls and i consider my number quite safe 🙂 am 7200ish.
January 29, 2017 at 21:57
Hi dear simon
My case is 6***. According to past years I was hopefully waiting for my interview on may…
Is there any chance for me after 90 days ban? Or every thing is gone…
January 30, 2017 at 01:57
Assuming the ban is not extended, interviews will recommence after the 90 days.
January 30, 2017 at 05:53
Thank u so much for all that hope but DV VISA is time limited And I think this puts my case in danger?? what’s ur idea? I”m totally frustrated
January 30, 2017 at 06:34
You have to wait to see what happens.
January 29, 2017 at 18:26
Stay calm Mario, it doesn’t concern your citizenship. Till now there aren’t signs of other bans based on different nationalities different from the 7 ones included in the executive order. I would like to mention that the ban is for 90 days only, and 120 days for refugees. In my opinion it wouldn’t be extended to other countries. Also remember that the ban includes even citizens who have double nationality.
January 29, 2017 at 18:20

Peace and love. That is all any of us should desire. Thank you for the kind words.
January 29, 2017 at 17:56
Dear Simon,
I currently hold a immigrant visa but have not entered the US yet. I am not from one of those 7 countries mentioned (I am from Macedonia).
Does the 90 day ban apply to me? And if not, what advice would you give me? Should I enter the states as soon as possible? Is there a chance for the ban to include more countries?
Thanks,
Best Regards,
Mario
January 29, 2017 at 18:37
It does not affect you, and I doubt the ban would widen to many countries, BUT we cannot be certain. So relax and continue.
January 29, 2017 at 17:42
Do you think trump will cancle th permanent residence of Kenyans who are in States already ..he had said during campaigns that he will start with Obama and Kenyans in the US will follow?
