i am from Ethiopia, my CN 000258xx. Do you think i have a chance to be assigned for an interview in June 2015?
March 12, 2015 at 21:37
Yes.
March 2, 2015 at 13:14
So as I see for this year not to arrive at AF81100
March 2, 2015 at 14:31
Correct. I think that is more or less certain.
March 2, 2015 at 00:43
Hi Simon, I have some bad feeling that I have made a mistake in DS-260, I’m not sure. And it wouldn’t be smart to bother KCC to unlock my application, nor slow the process. Please tell me your opinion. In short: I came from Canada almost two months ago. I have worked and lived there more than a year. In DS-260 my Current address is from Canada. After interview I am planning to go back there. Is it mistake that my current address is not from where I live now? And, do I need a police check from Canada? I worry..
March 2, 2015 at 01:04
If you were in Canada for over a year you need a police report. That is covered in the instructions – please read those to make sure you are not missing something else also.
About the addresses, did you declare Croatia as your place of interview – it is normally based on where you tell them you are living….
March 2, 2015 at 01:20
O o…In my DS-260 says Montreal as a location of my interview but I spoke with KCC and they told me the location is Zagreb, that they have changed it and I don’t have to be worry about it. Now it is impossible to get police check from Canada, but I already have it and it’s from August 21. I didn’t read everything on your blog yet, I will for sure. Kindly asking you, how old must be police check? Thank you. Now I’m hoping…
March 2, 2015 at 02:29
Well you have compromised the old police report by going back after August. It isn’t impossible to get a police report from Outside Canada, you just need to read the instructions. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/CA.html#policerecords-6
March 2, 2015 at 02:42
I am confused now. Police report is from August 2014 and I came back in January 2015. So it is valid, isn’t it?
March 2, 2015 at 02:59
Sorry for asking again but I am confused now. Police report is from August 2014 and I came back in January 2015. So it is valid, isn’t it? I was the whole time there.
March 2, 2015 at 04:12
Personally I would get a new police report because you were there after the report. But – its your choice.
March 2, 2015 at 02:15
My interview will be before August and the ”Police clearance letters are valid for 12 months from the date of issuance”. I have checked on official usembassy website. Thanks.
February 14, 2015 at 07:01
Hi,
What is your expectation for the next VB for AS, how many CN will jump from 4725 of AS?
Thanks
February 12, 2015 at 20:19
Thanks Simon , Yes I’m from Iran , is any risk of visa shortage like what happened for 2014 in early sep.? beside i have another Q : I’ve lived in another country fro 190days , do I need police certificate from that country ? I mean despite of the rule that police certificate is needed for more than 12 months of stay , is it likely the officer ask me despite of this rule?
February 12, 2015 at 20:45
Visas will run out but not like the 2013 case where Iran was stopped early.
THe police cert for 12 months will not be an issue for 190 day stay.
February 12, 2015 at 18:26
Hi Simon
, my wife is the winner ,CN is AS83xx , she has never worked , I’m electonic eng , I’m exempted from Military service and I ‘ve neve worked for government , my field of work is It and repairing its devices , is there any chance of interview for us ? how it’s likly to face AP, my wife & me?
February 12, 2015 at 20:00
You are from Iran I imagine. You should get an interview and your chance of AP is hopefully low – but only the CO can say for sure.
February 12, 2015 at 15:43
hi, why did you already displays africa this year the number of cases may reach the AF89XXX
February 12, 2015 at 16:34
I have shown the max case number ASSIGNED is 89799 – but I have not said cases that high will be interviewed
February 12, 2015 at 08:23
Hi,
what do you think about my CN AS54** is when it is going to be current, and is there any chance to go thru AP – I’m under UAE selectees
Regarding AP, is it only related to the applicant or family and parent? I’m single 🙂
Thanks..
February 12, 2015 at 14:15
Current for May probably.
AP is based on the selectee and derivatives on the case – not relatives NOT on the case.
February 11, 2015 at 19:53
Hello Simon,
I have received from KCC that “Your case number is now current for interview processing” , is it mean that my DS260 is processed and I can expect an email during next two weeks. My CN is EU28***.
Thanks.
February 11, 2015 at 20:44
Yes – that email is rare – but it means you will get your 2NL shortly.
February 11, 2015 at 16:34
hi. thank for a very helpful blog. kcc is calling only 400-500 CN per month in asia.therefore i’m afraid we cant get the visa this year ! and if they call us for the interview we really need to get visa without AP.please tell your opinion about our case: as 78xx-dentist-husband and 15 years old daughter -submit 260 on 29 may -iran.
February 11, 2015 at 16:39
OK – so there are several risk factors for AP in Iran.
Have either of you ever worked for the government?
Have either of you ever been in the Iran military?
Are either of you working in Oil/Energy/Nuclear industry?
If the answer is no to those 3 then you have a lower chance of AP.
Your number will be current, but not until July, perhaps even August. If you get on AP, you probably cannot get cleared in time.
February 11, 2015 at 15:21
Simon, This is what I struggle to understand. The Nepal numbers are supposed to be in the 1-8000 range, (looks like last year they were in the 1-9500 range) so what is the point of limiting them at around that number, if there is no one from Nepal after that number anyway (last year they limited at 9500)? If they limited them around 5000, that would make sense, but not so high. Also at the rate they are going, Asia won’t reach 8000 until August, may be even Sep. So Nepal won’t hit the limit until then, which won’t leave much time for rest of Asia.
If the pace remains the same in Asia, even the below 10K numbers are at risk. Would you not agree? There dose not to be any evidence that the pace would improve significantly for Asia.
February 11, 2015 at 16:27
This year there are Nepal cases up to about 9100/9200. Last year the highest Nepalese numbers were well over 10K (but there are less selectees this year). My reasoning for expecting Nepal to hit the 7% is based on previous years response and success rates. In 2013 for instance, there was no cut off for Nepal. They had 4370 selectees and from that received 3377 visas – only 130 short of the 2014 total which hit the limit. So – my point being if Nepal can get so close to the limit with 4370 selectees the 4991 is still too many. At the same success rate as 2013 Nepal would need 3850 visas – which exceeds the limit. SO – I expect there to be a limit imposed just before the selectees are exhausted – at around 8600 to 8800.
Now – about the under 10k at risk. I have stated I think the AS numbers go to at least 10k. That is based on the assumption that Nepal will max out as I explained and then Rest of Asia (ROA) can get a healthy jump once they are maxed. Remember the density of non Iran/Nepal cases is tiny – so a 1000 case number increase only yields about 180 cases from ROA. So it is not hard to imagine Nepal maxing out in August and September seeing a 2000 to 3000 jump – just look at the historical numbers for 2014 for ASia.

February 11, 2015 at 14:07
Hi, Britsimon, my case number is AS88** n i’m from Nepal. Are there any chances for me to get 2nd letter.
February 11, 2015 at 15:13
Only a low chance, Nepal can hit the 7% limit before that case number…
February 11, 2015 at 12:10
but why for this year they have not reached AF81100 as years past
February 11, 2015 at 15:14
Numbers are more dense this year because of Nigeria
February 11, 2015 at 12:03
hi, why you ever appears for that year
AF can ateind case number 89980
February 11, 2015 at 08:11

February 10, 2015 at 14:32
Hi what do you think about AF83XXX ?
February 10, 2015 at 14:58
I think that number is too high. I’m sorry.
February 10, 2015 at 13:02
I’m starting to get concerned now, do you think my number will be ok AF62xxx? If so I assume it will most likely only be current for September interview?
February 10, 2015 at 14:56
You should be OK – but yes it will be late, possibly August, but more likely September.
February 10, 2015 at 10:47

February 10, 2015 at 19:13
Hey maxim
Which country are you from in Europe?
I’m from France and I’m in the 31k something!
February 10, 2015 at 09:51
HELLO BRITSMON I like the way you work so good in computer science and statistics.
I would like to know according to this VB progress If AF region will reach 80k. And in the CEAC files, the last CN the give would be the must CN the expect regarding to their statistics. I realis no good progresse from Liberia and guinea. But liberea has big selectees. What will be their impact on the progress? thanks
February 10, 2015 at 14:17

February 10, 2015 at 14:49
I doubt we will see AF80XXX get current. I do understand that Liberia will have many no shows because of the Ebola issues – but even with that considered I don’t think AF can reach 80XXX
February 10, 2015 at 06:10
Hello, Sorry what is mean “your DS260 is processed” ? how can I know that ?
February 10, 2015 at 14:43
You can email [email protected] and ask them. Include your full name, case number and date of birth in MMDDYYYY format
February 10, 2015 at 05:25
One more question what would happen if they issued only 5k visa for ASIA until end of July in case the total response is low and most Iranian get AP dose that mean they will have big jump in August and September to spend the rest of visa?
February 10, 2015 at 02:50
Wow, asia much slower than i expected, even compared to last year..
I’ve lost all my hope, as13,xxx
Looks like Asia is the worst region as fat as vb progress is concerned
February 10, 2015 at 04:06
Well you can’t give up yet…..
February 10, 2015 at 02:02
Thanks! Hope it will go faster in the coming month
February 10, 2015 at 00:29
Hi BritSimon, my number is AS10xxx. I still worry my number coz Asia number is behind comparing with other regions. Like you said above, is there a way we can find out Iran AP cases is slow or not?
February 10, 2015 at 00:44
We need more time to see more data – at least a month or two.
February 11, 2015 at 14:11
Hi kc, which country are you from?
February 9, 2015 at 22:17
Wow, Europe keeps going almost steady. Should i really start dreaming with my 44+k number?
I really don’t know what to think anymore, i swear. This is driving me nuts.
February 9, 2015 at 22:45
I would still be nervous of that number…
February 9, 2015 at 21:46
Hi what do you think about EU42xxx?? Do i have a chance? Submitted my form in May. Thanks
February 9, 2015 at 22:45
That is a risky number. You can only wait and see….
February 9, 2015 at 21:21
What do u think for europe will go at 38 k with this statistic that we have now
February 9, 2015 at 22:44
There is a good chance of that – yes.
February 9, 2015 at 21:01
Looking forward to your thoughts on how the VB falls in line with your previous ‘predictions’ and analysis. I like that stuff, LOL.
February 9, 2015 at 22:47
Haha! Well – I was pretty darn close. My biggest miss was AS region – I thought they would get into the 5200/5300 range. Other than that I was spot on!
February 9, 2015 at 20:45
What do you think about ASIA is that reflect bad thing or it’s normal?
My CN 11*** I became little upset even the total issued visa for ASIA about 1700.
February 9, 2015 at 20:50
As I have written before, the way Iran AP cases are handled is the key to Asia. Nepal is driving now, but they will hit the 7% limit. If Iran AP cases are slow as they were last year then your number is ok. However, if they somehow resolve the AP cases in Iran the number would end lower than last year.
If I had to guess I would say you will be OK.
February 9, 2015 at 19:55
great
