This visa bulletin covers June interviews.
For those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, they can expect their 2NL in about 2 weeks from now. I know I am going to get a lot of people who will ask me this exact question – so let me say that again. 2NLs for June interviews will be sent in about two weeks time. They will include interviews for cases that have been made current in this latest visa bulletin AND backlog cases that were already current last month but the DS260 was submitted late.
The backlog seems to be massively reduced now so progress from now on can be largely due to new VB numbers, not backlog.
Read this link if you are unsure how to read the visa bulletin.
AFRICA – 34400(Last month 28300)
ASIA – 8000(Last month 6850)
Except Nepal – 6200(Last month 5525)
EUROPE – 34,000(Last month 28000) LOLOL
OCEANIA – 1100(Last month 1050) LOLOL
SOUTH AMERICA, and the CARIBBEAN – 1175(Last month 1020)
**** About EU and OC regions ****
The numbers published for EU and OC are somewhat ridiculous. In EU the highest case number in CEAC is 24517. I have been looking for new cases in CEAC since the VB last month, but there are still NO CASES between 24517 and 28000. Same story in OC – highest number is 959. It seems like KCC are avoiding giving the impression that EU and OC have gone current while other regions are still going through the process. Why would they do that? Well I can only imagine it is to avoid numerous questions from regions still limited about allocating wasted visas from EU and OC to the other regions. There is a tiny (and reducing) chance that they could release some additional winners in EU and OC, but as of now there is NO evidence to support that hypothesis, including no extra cases in CEAC, and it is quite late in the year to inform more winners. Please Note – this would ONLY affect EU and OC, it would make no sense to release more winners in AF, AS and SA regions since there are already enough (too many) winners in those regions.
If you want to check how close these numbers are to my predictions, please check here. Happily all three regions that are “real” are exactly in my predicted ranges.

Hi Brit Simons
Im form Kosovo(a little country in balkan)
I was selected on september for DV2017
My CN is EU00027XXX
so does it mean that I cannot get a Visa!!!
If I cant
why I was selected for further processing ……..
November 6, 2016 at 02:17
They typically select more than needed to make sure the use all the available visas. IT some years that means some people miss out. But your case has a chance. Enter dv2018 just in case…
November 6, 2016 at 02:40
thank U mr Brit
but u just said to enter dv 2018
Can I enter for DV2018
if I get 2NL for dv2017
and after that What gonna happen if i be select for dv 2018
November 6, 2016 at 15:02
Would I have said it if it was a problem???
November 6, 2016 at 17:20
mr Brit
I thought it will be a big problem if i get 2NL in April,May
and on 3 May if I selecte for further processing for DV2018
but however I’m goin to enter DV2018
If it isnt a problem
thank u very much mr Brit.

Excuse my insistence, but I’m very worried. It is possible that cases have been chosen in 2nd drow, corresponding to September 2016 we are not called to interviews! my doubts arise because when reviewing newsletters from previous years, it seems that my case as 16XX numbers are not called. But I not understand how we go in the lottery and our cases are not considered for interview very “distant”.
Thanks a lot
September 23, 2016 at 13:09
Yes it is possible that cases (those in the second draw) will not be called for interview. Last year was the first year for a few years where there was NOT a cutoff like that – so the recent norm has been that some cases don’t get scheduled. However, there is nothing you can do except wait and hope.
April 22, 2016 at 21:54
Hello BritSimon
We have received our 2nl today for June 2 our number is AF00028XXX submitted our DS260 in End May 2015.

Not if the local language is French.
April 22, 2016 at 18:55
Hi Brit,
I have another question.
I need 1 photo for med exam, 2 photos to interview, and upload one for DS-260 online.
1- should I login and upload my photo in DS-260 form?
2- Can I use same photo for all mentioned above?
3- editing DS-260 online means unlocking and does it affect my Interview on June. 2nd?
Really sorry for multiple questions, and Tank you for assisstance
April 22, 2016 at 20:59
1. The DS260 does not have a photo – so you don’t add a photo.
2. Yes
3. See 1.
April 22, 2016 at 21:09
Thank you very much for clarification.
If you have time I have to more questions (sorry)
1- during the time I submitted DS-260 up-to know travelled to US while it in answered NO before. Do you think I should go online and correct it (regarding the fact that my interview is on June 2nd)?
2- When I saw the Montreal embassy where I will be interviewed, they ask applicants to register for appointment. Should I register for appointment while it is set by KCC?
April 22, 2016 at 21:19
1. You cannot unlock it now.
2. Wait for instructions from the embassy – then follow the instructions.
April 22, 2016 at 18:08
Hi Brit my case #201653xxx do u think I have a chance
April 22, 2016 at 20:59
“wait and see”
April 22, 2016 at 16:39
Hi Brit,
My interview is on 9 May, On DS 260 I had written contact address as California as my friend was there. However, he has now shifted to Texas. How can I change the contact address and will it have any effect on interview for visa issuance.
Also Pls let me know is it compulsory to go to the same place as I had filled on DS 260 or else I can move to any state?
Regards,
BH
April 22, 2016 at 21:00
You can update the address at the interview.
You do not have to live at the address on the DS260 – plans change – that’s OK.
April 22, 2016 at 16:03
Hi Brith,
I just received my 2NL. I saw that I should fill and submit DV-260 online while I have been submitted in before and nothing is changed as of now. Do I need to login and feel it again?
I logged in just to see whether it is there or not, but it asks me Birthday and others from the scratch.
What should I do?
thanks
April 22, 2016 at 16:16
Hi Brit,
My interview in in June 2nd.
I got throw my DS-260 online and saw that two things is changed now. First, I have my Vaccination record now, so I can check it YES now. Next, I checked NO for ever been in USA before, but during this time I had a travel to US, so do you think I should correct that two things. If so, How can I change them online?
Thanks a lot
April 22, 2016 at 21:01
No need to update for that – and since you now have your 2NL you cannot unlock.
April 22, 2016 at 15:47
just received my 2NL
April 21, 2016 at 21:49
Hi brit, my case number is AF40***, can i get current for the next VB? thanks
April 21, 2016 at 22:08
Maybe – I think we should see a jump of approximately 7000 – so you might squeeze in….
April 21, 2016 at 21:02
Hi brit
Good day ,
If I spent the university’s period only in my home country , so I have to get a police clearance for that period too ! Is it a general certificate or needs to be done based on a Letter from US embassy ?
Is this required for all applicants or the main one only ?
Thanks
April 21, 2016 at 21:41
That is all covered in the instructions. The country specifics are in the reciprocity page for each country – again accessed from the instructions. You really MUST read the instructions.

Hullo Brit
Something has been bothering me since 12th April. On that very date a friend of mine attended an interview at the US embassy Harare, He was denied because as a requirement it is a must to have 5 passes in 5o Level subjects. i understood that and i consoled him.
But what is on the Ceac status is that his visa status is AP for now the second week.
Am asking whats wrong if a visa is refused i hoped they dont indicate AP but Refused.
Please find some time and respond to me. Thank u.
April 21, 2016 at 21:39
Most likely they have simply not updated the case correctly. CEAC doesn’t “control” the case – it simply reports it – but because it is not the controlling system, it can sometimes be inaccurate.
April 21, 2016 at 13:24
Dear Brit,
Hello.
The address of my intended host has changed due to moving houses.I am looking forward to my case number getting current in the next bulletin. How would you advise me to handle the change of address details.
Many thanks for your continued advise.
Margaret.
April 21, 2016 at 13:40
I would unlock and change the DS260 now
April 21, 2016 at 10:34
Hi Simon, Thanks for your hard work. My case # is Af00051xxx. When do you think my interview will be schedule? Do you think my case have a chance? And what will be the final Visa Bulletine?
Hope to read from you as soon as possible?
April 21, 2016 at 13:54
IF your number gets current, it would be in September, BUT I cannot predict it with certainty – so – wait and see.
April 20, 2016 at 17:20
Thank you for your inquiry.
An interview for this case has been scheduled at the American Consulate/Embassy of Yaounde on June 07, 2016. April 19, 2016 at 17:04

Hank you again!
April 19, 2016 at 09:06
Hi sir, my visa was approved last week, all thanks to u for ur assistance. Sir I’ve changed my address. So my problem now is since my green card will be mailed but to the old address I stated, how will I get it to me or will it be a bad idea for me to change my location ? Thanks.
April 19, 2016 at 12:38
You can update your address at the POE when you arrive in the USA the first time.
April 20, 2016 at 20:08
Hi sir I’m sorry to disturb you on this time…my problem is as well similar…please I wanna hear from you,how can I change my address from the day of my interview…what will I tell CO and then that will not affect my visa because on my DS260 I did write other address…
Best regard
Americana…
April 20, 2016 at 20:27
You just discuss it with the CO on the day of the interview. If you have already had the interview, then you simply update the address with the immigration officer at the POE. Sometimes they ask you if the details have changed from the pack you got from the embassy, sometimes they don’t mention it. So – if they don’t mention it – you have to raise it!
April 18, 2016 at 20:58
Hi Brit,
What would be the effect of not having 6 months of passport validity at the interview? Would they ask me to renew the passport and come back or just issue a visa with less than 6 months?
April 17, 2016 at 20:33
Does the embassy ask me to fill out affidavit form, in other words do they want me to get a sponsor?
April 17, 2016 at 16:06
Hello,
My case ID is 2016AS000094xx, is there any hope?
April 17, 2016 at 17:07
Wait and see….
April 17, 2016 at 10:18
Hello .
I have a great concern upon registration to the DV all my first names were not marked (2 mentioned instead of 3), but to fill my DS260 I mentioned all three first names.
I wonder if the three first names will be mentioned on 2NL? (There were only two first names on the first letter).
In case the 3 first names will not be mentioned on 2NL, what solution do you offer me.
Thank you
April 17, 2016 at 14:35
Regardless of what the 2NL says, you can’t do more than you already have. You should just attend the interview.
April 16, 2016 at 12:13

April 15, 2016 at 13:33

April 15, 2016 at 10:00
Hi Simon, how soon should one fill out the DS 260 form? Immediately after I find out that I have been selected?
April 15, 2016 at 15:00
Soon after selection is ideal – but you can delay for months if you want.
April 15, 2016 at 07:15
Hi Brit i am 2016 DV winner and my case number is AF37xxx hoping for the July interview my question is am 4months pregnant now will this bring an issue of visa denial coz am single and secondly can this cause me to be but on AP because of the medical vaccination because i hear that there are some vaccinations that are not good for pregnant woman
April 15, 2016 at 15:21
Pregnancy won’t cause your denial. Not having a completed medical will. You must tell the doctor about the pregnancy and they will judge whether the vaccinations are safe or not based on their training and information.
April 14, 2016 at 22:58
Wow,great work with the prediction. I was hoping you could help predict when AF4052* could be up for interview. Thanks and God Bless u for ur graceful updates and help.
April 14, 2016 at 21:05
Hi dear Brit,

April 14, 2016 at 20:48
Hi,mr Brit.Today was our day.Our visas were approved.I am from Bulgaria.Tnx for your help.
April 14, 2016 at 21:23
Congratulations!
April 14, 2016 at 19:58
Simon my CN is 2016AF55907. What are my chances for getting an interview?
April 14, 2016 at 20:07
Your number is in the last 17 case numbers issued – not a good place to be – it means you are at the tail end of a very long line. The only hope you have is to see a visa bulletin with the word CURRENT for Africa. A few months ago I would have said that was almost certain to not happen – but at this point I can only say “wait and see”.
April 14, 2016 at 19:58
Sorry Brits to border u , but all my document from my passport that i took to my high school diploma , degree and master’s degree has d correct date that i used in d DS-260 from d passport that I used to travel to germany in 2014 is the same passport that am using to apply for the DV visa and it has the correct date of birth am not falsifying document am worried because as am following your blog people are been rejected for mistake in their date of birth .thanks for your understanding.
April 14, 2016 at 20:08
Well the only person that can make a decision on this is the CO. Good luck.
April 14, 2016 at 18:46
Thank Bri for the anslysis, and prediction you are accurate
my question is there is hope for AF48000 case number being called for an interview?
April 14, 2016 at 20:08
Wait and see.
April 14, 2016 at 16:03
Hi brits am current for june interview but am a little bit worried as i made a mistake on my date of birth 10/02/1989 instead of 10/02/1986 , but i emailed KCC and did the correction am in sierra leone will that cause any denial on the day for my interview, please advice
April 14, 2016 at 16:45
I had answered this exact question from you a couple of days ago – link below. However I notice you also asked a question previously about having a new birth certificate. So – as I understand it, you will be presenting a new birth certificate and a different date of birth, These things may start to create an impression that you are presenting false documents or creating some sort of fraud. Be very careful. If you are being 100% honest, there is no need to worry, but if you are trying to be “creative” – I advise you against that.

April 15, 2016 at 09:00
@dv 2016,am also from sierra leone and i was interviewed in february,2016.i was having the same problem with my year of birth which i emailed KCC about and was told to go ahead and filled the ds260 with my correct information which i did but of the day of the interview they spotted the mistake and that was the only question they asked me and the interview was over.so just keep fingers crossed but i will tell you brother the embassy in sierra leone is very very difficult to go through with mistakes of any form.on the day of my interview not a single person was approved.and from my observation they are refusing people with mistakes from initial entry on the bases of the labour law certification rule.DONT put all your eggs in one basket please brother.its just an advice.
April 15, 2016 at 15:19
The refusal for DV cases is often 212(a)(5). That is sometimes thought to be a labor certification refusal – but it is a catch all for DV cases.
April 14, 2016 at 14:12
Good morning, Britsimons. My case number is SA14XX, you think it is possible to get the interview? I am very concerned
April 14, 2016 at 15:14
You simply have to wait and see.
April 14, 2016 at 12:08
Hi Simon,
Couple of questions please. AF46xxx.
DS260 submitted end of Jan.
Changing job soon and possibly travelling to US on business visa for a couple of weeks.
Do I need to unlock DS260 to update job? And unlock to update travel history after coming back from US for business? Even going to US for holiday, would I need to do the same?
Does unlocking affect chances of being issued a GC, e.g. do you go to the back of the ‘queue’ each time you unlock and resubmit?
What would you advise in this situation?
Many thanks,
Matthew
April 14, 2016 at 15:06
Unlocking doesn’t move your place in a queue, so you can unlock, but those changes are not so significant, so no need to do that…
April 14, 2016 at 10:02
Der Brit
In Your Opinion, You Will Keep The Same Rhythm Or It
Will Increase Or Decrease?
April 14, 2016 at 07:56
Good morning sir ..I want to ask you that .. I’ve paid my green card on March 08 but I never received my receipt yet until now .. How many days wil take the process for that pls ?? Thank you
April 14, 2016 at 15:15
It can take 2 or 3 months after you enter the USA.
April 14, 2016 at 03:00
Hi Brit, my family & I are in the U.S and we received letter from KCC to adjust our status. If my CN show up current on June. My question, can we sent our paper works to Chicago Lock box for filling from now (I mean early filling) or waiting to be current on June to avoid denied my application. I am waiting to hear from you
April 14, 2016 at 05:06
You can file early. I did. Many others do.
April 14, 2016 at 05:22
Thanks a lot Brit
