The latest travel ban (which was a modified version of the first order) has been blocked. this time by a judge in Hawaii. I am LOVING this. I didn’t dare hope that the judges would take Trump on so squarely, since the government took several weeks to address some of the ways the first order was flawed. This judgement again sees right through the bigoted and ill informed decision. Again, it overrules the President because no one, including the president, has the right to make immigration decisions that have the intent of attacking a certain group based (in this case) on their religion.
So – this is very early – but it looks like the ban is, again, blocked.
🙂

Thanks for your kind reply, I will re-think about it again, however I may not be able to move very quick at this stage.
1) what about the GC fees how I can pay? recall I read about it and fees increase but cannot find it.
Thank again…
May 6, 2017 at 17:37
Fees increase in December – $220. You have instructions on how to pay with the visas.
May 6, 2017 at 12:37
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your help and support.
I got my visa few days back, from one of the six affected countries.
1)should I travel now or I can wait for few months for my daughter to complete her school.
2) As the EO appeal is on 8th May, can this if block lifted affect the visas issued after 15th March, i.e. back date the order to its original dates.
3) how long this type of appeal normally takes to conclude.
4) I really depend on your advise, as you proof correctness over the time.
I will donate and post my experience shortly.
Thanks a lot again.
May 6, 2017 at 16:07
1. Based on how existing GC and visa holders were treated in the early days after the ban – I think you would be OK to wait – BUT it is up to you. I can’t predict the future.
2. I can’t predict the future.
3. Months or longer.
4. 🙂
April 11, 2017 at 05:41
Dear Britsimon
The court will hear the case of Travel ban on 8 of May by 4th Circuit Court .
dose this mean that they can decide on whether to rule the EO or postponed it ,or its just hearing and they will decide within one week as an example ?
am asking this question because my interview will be in the same period of hearing .
Thanks
April 11, 2017 at 14:39
I cannot predict what will happen.
April 2, 2017 at 12:14
Dear BritSimon
I am from the 6 banned countries.
As the ban was blocked, thank God I have received the 2NL and the interview was scheduled for middle of May 2017. however, there is a question in my mind i would like if you possibly please help to find an answer for:
On the basis that i would be okay as a result of the interview, do you think i will get the visa within the normal procedure and time, and i can travel to US before the ban is reordered or takes effect?
On your answer further vital steeps will be taken.
Thanks a lot
April 2, 2017 at 13:41
Right now, there is no ban so things are as normal. However, I cannot predict what will happen between now and your interview.
April 2, 2017 at 19:16
Dear Simon
Only one more and final question please:
Do you (or somebody else) definitly Know or came across any case from the 6 banned countries who had the visa stamped in his/her passport after the ban was blocked?
thanks
April 3, 2017 at 03:41
Yes.
April 3, 2017 at 11:34
Thank you so much.
April 3, 2017 at 13:11
Salem contact me on this email so we may coordinate for any step in the future , I am from one of the 6 country
[email protected]
April 1, 2017 at 16:27
Thanks Simon for your swift reply.
I am sorry to bother you, but am a lot confused.
however, I know the ban was blocked, but previously you’ve said to me that the banned countries cases will kept on hold and will not have the visas stamped in their passports until the issue is resolved . As far as I know the court will hear the case on 8 of May and a decision will be taken, The president as well vows to take the case up to supreme court. All must have to made me think to ask the 4 questions in my previous email . Do you think we should consider as if the EO was not issued at all and ” business is going as usual”.
Thanks
April 1, 2017 at 19:48
Yes. The Hawaiian court decision means business as usual until the appeal is resolved which may take a long time.
April 1, 2017 at 15:56
Hi Simon
For a selectee from one of the 6 banned countries, who already passed the interview and found to be okay; qualified for the DV visa, I understood from you Simon that he will not have the visa stamped in his passport until later time. His case will be kept on hold (delay). For such a person. who attended the interview abroad as there is no American embassy in his country, I have 4 questions please:
1-Do you think the holding condition could last till the end of September 2017? In this case what is the point of sending the 2Nl , attending the interview and paying all related costs?
2- Do you know whether will or otherwise will not the embassy would keep his passport? If yes then for how long?
3- If for a reason or another he should fly back to his country, and therefore he will get back his passport, the question in this case is that: is there a possibility he might loose the chance to get the visa?
4-Do you know if there a certain procedure established by KCC to deal with similar cases? Should I contact KCC to get definite answers if you can’t advice?
Sorry for asking many question which might be in the mind of many people.
thanks
April 1, 2017 at 16:00
Did you read the above article at all???? The ban is blocked – there is NO ban.
March 28, 2017 at 18:57
2nl has been sent to me today.
March 28, 2017 at 18:26

March 28, 2017 at 17:44
Hi Brit !
i want to tell you That i have recieved just now the 2nd letter !
Cn : Af37000
Submited Ds260 : 20 August
Thank you so much for your help !
March 28, 2017 at 17:35
2ln has been sent to me
March 28, 2017 at 08:45
Hello dear brit ,
I really want to thank u very much for ur effort and advices u gava to us , today was a beautiful day today i attend to my interview and i got accepted i got the approval thanks god and thank to u i really want to make a donation and i will certainly,
And for the ppl from the 6 countries who had an interview or a 2NL before the EO and got cancelled like me u should attend ur interview because the interview is going on and they keep processing it so u must go if u didnt go without any explanation before the interview so its makes u no show upon interview and its bad i was really frustrated and anxious really i was thinking maybe they will not interviewing me at all because my interview got cancelled after the first EO but they interview me and approved me so am glad really glad especially to u brit a good man with a lot yo give thats amazing actually. I really have one question last one i hope the counselor told me that my passport will arrive to me through aramex within 2 weeks and gave me a letter says congratulations and so on so i think thats enough and i should wait for the visa i do not take it for granted really but i hope this is enough right ? I mean to get the visa ?
And also they didnt request the i-134 never asked about it which i was ready to give it but he didn’t mentione it at all so for the ppl going to interview in Cairo , Egypt notice this the i-134 for the dv lottery is not required only the basic docs only the educational certificate, birth certificate, police record ( criminal record) and ur passport ur letter 2NL , ur ds-260 confirmation letter also the Aramex appointment this very important in fact so u have to be prepared.
Questions are really esay and fun .
Thanks brit again may god bless u and ur family with all the goodness in this life and after . 🙂
March 28, 2017 at 11:34
Wait until the visa is in your hand.
Cairo rarely asks for the I-134 – but they could – so that is why people should be over prepared.
Congrats.
March 27, 2017 at 23:38
And I also want to know what is deadline for submitting the DS260? You think it is for May?
March 28, 2017 at 00:09
There is no fixed date – but May is the latest I would advise.
March 27, 2017 at 23:34
Hi Simon, can I unlocked and take my dead son from the program to avoid carrying death certificate for the interview?
March 28, 2017 at 00:08
No.
March 27, 2017 at 09:22
Hello brit hope i doing fine ,
So i have the interview tomorrow and am using (the) because its the interview that been cancelled due to EO and i am going to attend it tomorrow god willing so am really exciting ,frustrating and anxious because am not sure they will allowed me to the interview i hope they will .my question is i have almost all the papers except the i-134 because its on the way here by USPS but it might not get here in time i dont kow but i have photocopies of all the docs 1040 paylips the sponsor ID (nationality certificate) but the i-134 it is copy not the real docs should i take these papers including the copy of the i-134 and show them to the consular and also take the USPS paper proof that my shipment didnt arrive yet ??
2- is theres is any one from the 6 effectied countries like mine Sudan attended any interview after the blocking of the 2nd EO ??
March 27, 2017 at 13:50
1. Take the papers.
2. I don’t know.
March 27, 2017 at 15:18
So they dont need the original paper for the 1040 w2 and paylips ?? I mean they can send this docs by email and i can print it right ??
March 27, 2017 at 15:20
Correct. It is the I-134 that should be the original.
March 26, 2017 at 21:18
Sorry I meant it showed current for all countries in April
March 26, 2017 at 21:17
Hi I’m a little confused please help me understand. In April the visa bulletin showed for all countries including the Bahamas. Why is that march is now showing the cut off number back to 10. Please help me to understand y. If my number is 10 am I current or not please?
March 26, 2017 at 22:19
You are reading the VB wrong. You are current.
March 26, 2017 at 22:28
Thanks I really appreciate your help.
March 26, 2017 at 12:06
1- Dear Simon, just I wonder anybody with nationality from the 6 countries in the 2nd EO received their 2NLs for April interview or not?
2- I am asking because looks like from tomorrow 2NLs for May interview should be sent. If that people (from said 6 countries) did not receive yet their 2NLs, what will be your guess?
Tq
March 26, 2017 at 14:06
1. Yes
2. They will.
March 26, 2017 at 02:02
Hi Sir I have a quick question before an I interview should I get one, I am the principal winner but I’m presently a house wife and have been going on three years. My husband and I own a business together. The business is in his name but all of our accounts including that of the business is in both of our names. Would that present a problem for me? We’ve had the business now for fourteen years. We have more than enough in the bank accounts. Just wondered if that would be a problem as the Winner of the lottery and not my husband. Can you clarify please? We’re in the Bahamas.
March 26, 2017 at 04:30
No problem.
March 24, 2017 at 22:30
Hello Brit. what about 2NLs for May interview when it will be publish. Do you have any idea ? what happend? my case no EU256**
March 24, 2017 at 22:55
Nothing “happened”. 2NLs will probably go out next week.
March 24, 2017 at 12:25
My uncle holds H1B and he’s in Missouri. Can I make him my sponsor?
March 24, 2017 at 15:13
Because his visa is temporary, it would be better to use a citizen or LPR.
March 24, 2017 at 11:00
Britsimon hope you are well
My issue is am trying to reach the embassy in Ghana to inform them about my new born baby with my wife but no reply from them. When I send the email too I don’t get any authomatic response.am a dv2017 winner and i will soon go for my interview and I don’t know what to do. But I have written to KCC to inform them about it also about the issue.
March 24, 2017 at 15:13
Keep trying to contact the embassy.
March 24, 2017 at 18:15
Please britsimon,I have been sending the emails for some time now but it seems am still not getting the automatic reply and the reply of the email itself.my interview time will soon reach,so please what do you suggest I can do if I end up not hearing from the embassy in Ghana.
March 24, 2017 at 18:20
Then you would attend the interview and try and sort it out at that time. If you cannot contact them before the interview there will be a delay.
March 24, 2017 at 18:34
Thanks a lot sir,i will do as you said but I will still try and reach them.
March 24, 2017 at 03:51

March 23, 2017 at 17:51

Exclusive: U.S. embassies ordered to identify population groups for tougher visa screening
http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKBN16U12X
……. Both the March 15 and March 17 cables seem to anticipate delays as a result of their implementation. They urged embassies to restrict the number of visa interviews handled per day, acknowledging this “may cause interview appointment backlogs to rise.”
March 23, 2017 at 17:23
That is fair enough. This is what they should have done in the first place rather than the stupid travel ban.
March 21, 2017 at 15:30
Any news for 2nl CN 351** tnx
March 21, 2017 at 16:42
No.
March 21, 2017 at 09:53
Dear sir

March 21, 2017 at 13:08
OK
March 20, 2017 at 18:51
What is the currunt status of travel ban
March 20, 2017 at 19:35
Blocked.
March 20, 2017 at 15:35
Good day dear Simon,
am the on of affected coutries by EO my interview was scheduled on 28/3 and due to new modified EO all interviews also cancelled, i have contacted NVC and US embassy accordingly as i didnt get any reply from them, do u think i should attend my interview at the same time and date which i been scheduled before…
Best regards
March 20, 2017 at 17:13
You can try that… I don’t know for sure whether they will interview you on that day or will tell you to come back another day.
March 22, 2017 at 11:43
Where are u from and in which embassy u will attend to interview??
March 17, 2017 at 22:34
thank you!!!
March 20, 2017 at 17:52
@Venezuela Libre, did you end up getting your interview scheduled? Are you in Caracas?
March 17, 2017 at 18:24
I think the travel ban block will influence the Current status for Asia and Africa and KCC may put the limit back on these regions. what do you think simon?
March 17, 2017 at 21:09
I don’t *think* that will happen, but it is technically possible.
March 17, 2017 at 15:51
I dont understand how so many people are going to be interview at the same time
March 17, 2017 at 16:51
Even without the VB case number progress, there is a natural “control” on the number of cases able to be interviewed in any one month. Because DS260s are taken so long to process, that is giving that level of control – so people that are current, but did not submit their DS260 early, will find they are delayed until later.
March 16, 2017 at 17:27
Hello sir,
My case number is AS49** and i’m syrian. I completed my DS-260 form in June. Although i was current for April interview i didn’t receive my 2NL. I sent an email to Kcc ten days ago and they replied ” your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application”. So i’m confused should i contact KCC agian and ask them if my case is going to be scheduled in May or wait.
Thank you.
March 16, 2017 at 19:27
May interview. Wait.
March 17, 2017 at 11:53

March 16, 2017 at 16:54
The alert in department of state, was updated:
Executive Order on Visas
On March 15, 2017, the United States District Court in Hawaii issued a ruling barring the Department from implementing Sections 2 and 6 of Executive Order 13780 suspending visa issuance and entry into the United States. On March 16, 2017, a federal district court for the District of Maryland separately issued a ruling barring the Department from implementing Section 2(c) of the same Executive Order. Both are effective immediately.
As the Executive Order was not yet in effect, U.S. embassies and consulates continue to process visas for nationals of the six countries as before. The Department will suspend implementation of provisions of the Executive Order as required by the relevant court orders.

Hi, I’m 2017 dv lottery winner with the case number 47** from Iran. It’s been almost 40 days since my case number has become current but I still didn’t receive my 2NLs! Why it took so long? Is it all about the travel ban?! Now the travel ban is blocked, is it possible that I receive my interview schedule?
March 16, 2017 at 19:41
Yes you will get it. Patience.
March 16, 2017 at 13:22
Hello,
Is this block nationwide? or just for Hawaii?
March 16, 2017 at 13:30
Nationwide
March 16, 2017 at 12:52

March 16, 2017 at 13:34
That is one way to do it. But I would try contacting the embassy again. You could also contact KCC.
March 17, 2017 at 18:46
hey brith ,
I do contacted the KCC that my interview been on 28th of march and it cancelled after the first EO and i asked them to insure me with information because i have been contacted the embassy without any reply from them .
So they sent this message:

An interview for this case has been scheduled at the American Consulate/Embassy of Cairo on March 28, 2017. March 17, 2017 at 21:08
Yes.
March 16, 2017 at 08:38
Do you think the new block will change anything from the VB from
Current to limiting numbers?
March 16, 2017 at 13:44
No
March 16, 2017 at 06:37
OK..thank you
I checked my status using the CEAC system and it read ‘administrative processing
March 16, 2017 at 07:07
Hmm..Ghana Embassy so strict
Let’s pray they give you the visa
March 16, 2017 at 15:05
Yh,I pray so
March 16, 2017 at 06:10
Am Felicity from Ghana,I went for a dv lottery interview yesterday and I was refused under the law 221(g) due to misrepresentation of name.
I’ve Felicity Essien Mensah on my birth cert, police clearance, passport and appointment but Essien Mensah Felicity on my school’s cert.
Please,is there anything I can do about it?
March 16, 2017 at 06:15
221(g) is a temporary refusal – they are considering your case and may yet approve or refuse it. All you can do is wait.
August 7, 2017 at 11:03
Hello Brit, do I qualify to register again with the corrected form of my name? I was denied a visa on 15th march this year due to misrepresentation of names. Can I try again this year or I’ll be referred back to that error?
August 7, 2017 at 12:20
You can try again.
March 16, 2017 at 15:46
Did you fill( any other name used) on the DS 260 forms?
March 16, 2017 at 15:58
No,Felicity Essien Mensah, the same name on my passport, birth cert, police clearance and the appointment.
March 16, 2017 at 16:09
OK,then I think they will do background checks on the other name and also to clear the dought of fraud(as in you entered only once)
March 16, 2017 at 16:26
OK… But how long will this take?
My picture is on the school’s cert
March 16, 2017 at 19:38
The time varies case to case.
March 22, 2017 at 16:18
Is your surname Essien? You may have swapped middle and surname on Sch cert
March 23, 2017 at 05:10
My surname is Mensah but it was written on the cert as Essien Mensah…..
March 16, 2017 at 05:33
Very Good News… Seems like DJT’s mandate will be a series of blocked bans…
March 16, 2017 at 04:23
Thanks britsimon, We always hear from you good information, my question is
What is the validation time of affidavit suppor 2 or 6 months
Thanks
March 16, 2017 at 04:51
There is no particular validity period. It should be recent at interview and supporting documents should be current.
March 16, 2017 at 04:20
Thanks Mr Brit for your endless support for lawful immigrants, that is right, every one should respect the law
March 16, 2017 at 02:42
I think this is the end of the so called travel ban
March 16, 2017 at 02:59
“so called” – LOL.
I hope so!
March 16, 2017 at 02:01
You are very nice, kind and respectful mam Mr. Britsimon Britsimonsays.
I wish you all the best for the nice words and hard work you write and do to us
