I have created a video on this before – but still people get things wrong – so let me update that info here. This video is all about tips to make sure you send all the required documents to KCC. Please refer to the previous article and instructions – all linked below the video. You need to see the previous article for the email addresses and complete instructions from KCC on the documents.
For those wondering – I am recommending people start submitting documents now whether you have been asked to provide documents or not. I would prefer people exercise some common sense and don’t send documents if your case number is very high – but use your own judgement.
If you have previously submitted documents, you can ask KCC about progress on those documents. You will need to allow some weeks for them to process, and they will probably be focused more on lower case numbers first.

February 25, 2021 at 17:10

Hi Mr Simon,
2021AF389xx
Algeria/6001 selectees
On 26th October 2020 the KCC answered my question by informing me that I must wait for several weeks for processing my DS260 before they ask me for documents in order for my case to continue processing.
Now I heard that the KCC reached the limits of 13k in Africa this month, #is it necessary for me to submit the documents according to my case number?
Thanks again for your huge efforts ?
February 25, 2021 at 13:52
You were on the live video, but I don’t know where you are getting this 13k number from.

February 24, 2021 at 21:10
Hello Mr Brit Simon,
I submitted my supporting documents and that of my derivative in October 2020 after I was requested to send it.However, I’ve hitherto not received the document confirmation email, and when I asked about the status of the documents, this is what they said
“Thank you for your inquiry.
Your DS-260 has been processed. You should have received, or will soon receive, an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing…”
Their response is talking about the DS260 instead of the documents. My case number is AF19k
1. Please is this an indication to resend the documents?
Thank you very much.
Kind regards
February 25, 2021 at 13:58
Watch the video – it sounds like you screwed up what you sent.
March 1, 2021 at 02:41
Hey humble, I am in the same status, i submitted docs in aug, and till now I already sent the Kcc 3 enquiries that I have submitted all the required documents, but still I haven’t received their final confirmation.
Maybe we should submit our docs once again.
February 24, 2021 at 21:30
Hi Brit
Hope all fine with you! Thank you for the video. I have 3 questions please:
– I have dual citizenship but I never lived in my second country for more than 6 month, so do I need to provide police certificate from my second country?!
– you mention your video that KCC will response to your email within days but in my case I have received request to submit my documents by August/2020 and I did email KCC with my documents also in August but I did not get any response so I send them emails multiple times but same automated response I get every time. I am worried that they lost the documents or deleted from their inbox. My case number is current 2021AS0004xxx, what should I do?!
– Do you have idea about the highest case number from Asia region got ready to schedule email, if not can you please request people from different regions in your blog to share such information, it will be very helpful for all of us to track the progress of KCC with documents receiving.
Thank you in advance.
February 25, 2021 at 13:59
1. No
2. Send the documents
3. No – don’t worry about other cases. Focus on yours.
February 24, 2021 at 21:31
Hi Brit,
It is interesting that you talk about not sending documents if your case number is high. In my case, mine is high and documents were asked a long time ago which I of course sent to them when they were asked. Have you ever seen a high case number being asked documents in early stages? I’m in SA by the way
February 25, 2021 at 14:00
I have explained many times that the way they process is not always by case number – hence some people with high numbers might have been processed.
February 28, 2021 at 20:26
Mauricio de donde sos? Yo uruguay mande los papeles en octubre y nunca recibí respuesta vos estas en la misma situación??? Que tenes pensado hacer?
February 24, 2021 at 23:47
Hello Simon, first of all I want to thank you for the patience you have had throughout the past year and the resilience to help us fight this.
PP10014 IS OVER!
So these past months you have helped me tremendously to help to figure out my situation so now that this is over, I need you once more if that is alright.
My case number is EU67XX, I sent my DS260 a couple of weeks ago following your prior advice, as I cannot be interviewed before June since I am in the United States until then.
Ballpark, when could I expect KCC to ask for documents? And, when should I send them, provided they ask for them “too early” so I won’t risk being scheduled in April or May? For reference, Madrid’s embassy has been opened for a few months now.
I understand this is hard to predict, so I appreciate your help and your expertise.
Fellow DV2021 selectees, HAPPY 24TH OF FEBRUARY!
February 25, 2021 at 13:13
Send them late March. June interviews are arranged in April.
February 25, 2021 at 00:33
Hi Brit,
can I ask my number is AS197XX, do I need to send my DS-260 to KCC?
or do you think the number is too high to pass the interview before September 30,2021.
Thank you for your answer.
February 25, 2021 at 13:15
That is impossible to guess.

Thanks for your tremendous dedication to support DV folks. Just an incredible work.
So, according to npr.pr in the article below, Biden has canceled the ban(s) for visas this Wednesday Feb.24.
Unfortunately, the public npr hasn’t give more details or more precise information.
Which bans are involved in this Biden’s EO? Thank you for the light.

PP10014 , PP10052, PP10131 ALL REVOKED BY PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN on February 24, 2021.
BRIEFING ROOM
A Proclamation on Revoking Proclamation 10014
FEBRUARY 24, 2021 • PRESIDENTIAL ACTIONS
The suspension of entry imposed in Proclamation 10014 of April 22, 2020 (Suspension of Entry of Immigrants Who Present a Risk to the United States Labor Market During the Economic Recovery Following the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Outbreak), as extended by section 1 of Proclamation 10052 of June 22, 2020 (Suspension of Entry of Immigrants and Nonimmigrants Who Present a Risk to the United States Labor Market During the Economic Recovery Following the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Outbreak), and section 1 of Proclamation 10131 of December 31, 2020 (Suspension of Entry of Immigrants and Nonimmigrants Who Continue To Present a Risk to the United States Labor Market During the Economic Recovery Following the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Outbreak), does not advance the interests of the United States. To the contrary, it harms the United States, including by preventing certain family members of United States citizens and lawful permanent residents from joining their families here. It also harms industries in the United States that utilize talent from around the world. And it harms individuals who were selected to receive the opportunity to apply for, and those who have likewise received, immigrant visas through the Fiscal Year 2020 Diversity Visa Lottery. Proclamation 10014 has prevented these individuals from entering the United States, resulting, in some cases, in the delay and possible forfeiture of their opportunity to receive Fiscal Year 2020 diversity visas and to realize their dreams in the United States.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including sections 212(f) and 215(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 U.S.C. 1182(f) and 1185(a), hereby find that the unrestricted entry into the United States of persons described in section 1 of Proclamation 10014 is not detrimental to the interests of the United States. I therefore hereby proclaim the following:
Section 1. Revocation. Proclamation 10014, section 1 of Proclamation 10052, and section 1 of Proclamation 10131 are revoked.
Sec. 2. Review of Agency Guidance. The Secretary of State, the Secretary of Labor, and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall review any regulations, orders, guidance documents, policies, and any other similar agency actions developed pursuant to Proclamation 10014 and, as appropriate, issue revised guidance consistent with the policy set forth in this proclamation.
Sec. 3. General Provisions. (a) Nothing in this proclamation shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:
(i) the authority granted by law to an executive department or agency, or the head thereof; or
(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.
(b) This proclamation shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.
(c) This proclamation is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-fourth day of February, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-one, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-fifth
JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR.

For sure, Brit – knowingly busy by now – is going to work all night long to decipher the last sections of this tremendously and savvy EO by President Joe Biden, especially sec. 3.
Interpretation of these sections might not be a sweet cup of coffee.
Good luck folks.
February 25, 2021 at 13:24
It’s all good.
February 25, 2021 at 06:09

Hi Simon, DV2021 here.
I haven’t submitted my DS-260 yet, because I was afraid of future visa struggle (immigration intent).
Am I too late now? Do consulates handle this first come, first serve?
Regards
February 25, 2021 at 19:27
Not too late, no. Depends on your case number.
February 25, 2021 at 20:05
I am a 2021AF 20XXX lottery winner should I send him the documents now thank you
February 26, 2021 at 21:16

February 25, 2021 at 23:51
Hi mr. Brit Simon thank you for the help and patience
I am trying to submit supporting documents and i watch your video on it and read this article I have a question since i lived (in Morocco for more then 12 months except for vacations for 2 to 3 months in my country of nationality ) i should provide police certificate from morocco but in the reciprocity page of morocco i find “Registration Criteria: Possession of new format Carte Nationale (ID card)
Procedure for Obtaining: Moroccan citizens, over 18 years of age, must obtain a Fiche Anthropometrique and a Casier Judiciaire from the Central Police station at their place of residence. The identity card, which is necessary to obtain the Fiche Anthropometrique, is not available to Moroccans under 18, therefore, Moroccans aged 16 to 18 should present an extract from the judicial records (Extrait du Casier Judiciaire). Police records are not delivered to third parties.
A Fiche Anthropometrique can be obtained by resident citizens of Morocco upon presentation of the new format National Identification Card (Carte d’Identite Nationale), a stamped self-addressed envelope, and a fee to the Service de l’Anthropometrie of the Central Police Station of the place of residence. Non-resident Moroccan citizens may request a Fiche Anthropometrique by writing directly to the Direction General de la Surete Nationale, Fichier Central de L’Anthropometrie, Rabat. The number and date of issue of the new format Carte Nationale must be included in the request. The fiche Anthropometrique is delivered only to bearers of the new format Carte Nationale ” and in court record they specify for foreigners “Registration Criteria: Obtainable by Moroccan citizens and foreign nationals who were born in, currently resides in, or previously resided in Morocco.”
So sir in my understanding the police certificate they don’t give them for foreigners please help me understand this
I apologize for the long question and thank you for all of your help and time
February 26, 2021 at 21:27
You should try to follow the instructions, documenting all you did to do so. The ID card may stop you obtaining the certificate – well get the authorities to give you that response in writing.
February 26, 2021 at 12:32
Hi Brit,
I had reissued my spouse’s (derivative) passport after entering the DV2021. I believe it was not required to enter the derivatives passport details while entering the DV2021. Is it required to send the old passport of derivative also while submitting the documents.
Please note that i had aleady submitted the documents in december and i had received reply from KCC mentioning my case is ready to schedule. But recently i unlocked the DS260 form and resubmitted it. After this i again recieved email on feb 25th asking for all documents and i have submitted it.
Considering above, please advise me if i need to send old passport of derivative to KCC.
February 26, 2021 at 22:32
No.
February 26, 2021 at 15:02
Hi brit, thanks for the update on Proclamation,
Please i have in my language spoken / read side of the Ds260 English and Hindi but i am losing the language gradually because i haven’t been speaking for a year or two but at the time of filling my Ds260 i was sure i could have the basics, at the interview can that a basis for me to be refused visa if i’m unable to express my self with the Hindi language?
February 26, 2021 at 22:41
You’ll be OK.
February 26, 2021 at 16:33
Hi Brit,
can I ask my number is AS321XX, do I need to send my documents to KCC?
or do you think the number is too high to pass the interview before September 30,2021.
Thank you for your answer.
February 26, 2021 at 22:46
I suspect your number will be too high, BUT if you have already submitted your DS260 you are not causing any additional harm by submitting documen ts.
February 27, 2021 at 19:03
Thanks for your reply appreciate that
February 27, 2021 at 08:15
Dear Brit,
I am from Bulgaria ,Europe(a country not from Schengen area) .I want to fly before the expiration date of the visa (12.03.21) ,but the Embassy told me ,,not to travel transit through the Schengen country” .
For DV applicants for the 2020 fiscal year who hold a valid immigrant visa and are subject to the geographic proclamations there is a NIE,right?
Greetings,
Jenny
February 27, 2021 at 17:32
Yes there is a blanket NIE. You need to print it out to make sure airlines understand.
February 28, 2021 at 12:10
Dear brit,
What about dv 2020 winners that already send
Their documents but waiting for second letter ?
February 28, 2021 at 15:38
Those cases might get processed depending on the final outcome of the Gomez case.
February 27, 2021 at 11:04
Hello Mr. Brit!
Case no. EU202** here:)

Thank you so much ?
February 27, 2021 at 17:49
They are accepted up to 12 months old.
February 27, 2021 at 22:48

Hi Brit,
I’m a dv2021 winner with case number AS17000, I’ve emailed the documents file about a week ago. I just put my case number as the Title line of the email and attached the pdf forms of documents then sent that, Now my questions are :
1.Was it necessary to write the complete name and birth date in that email? (It was told only to write the case number as the title of your email in the instructions) Will be KCC able to recognize my case?
2. If yes, Should I resend another document email to KCC with the CN, Name, and birth date in the context?
Thanks for your help !
March 1, 2021 at 15:04
That is answered in the earlier article – linked above.
March 2, 2021 at 12:03
Thanks a lot, I’ve found it in the Q&A comments of previous article
March 1, 2021 at 15:59
Hi Mr Simon thanks again for all the help. I am pretty sure you made a mention to this in your videos but I couldnt find it when searching in the archive – is it acceptable if inside the documentation PDF we include some notes that could help clarify the contents? (e.g. ‘the police report case number field is empty because it is onlyprovided if there are previous convictions’).
thanks again!
March 1, 2021 at 16:44
There should be no need – but it would not cause any harm.
March 1, 2021 at 19:52
Hi brit, u advice we submit our documents and went further to.advice that we should be able to judge whether our case numbers are high or low before submitting our documents. I am a DV winner with case number af527**. Do u advice I submit my documents at kcc or it is too early? Thanks for collaborating and enlightening most of us on this.
March 1, 2021 at 21:24
Your number is about medium. The highest AF numbers are about 88K. I really can’t predict what will happen this year – there are too many factors that can affect the outcome.
March 1, 2021 at 20:51
Dear Simon
Trust you are good
Unfortunately i have not combined me and my family members documents separately, acording your instruction. i have just named any single documents according instruction correctly and submitted to kcc, do you think i should resubmit my documents Sir?
March 1, 2021 at 22:43
No.
March 2, 2021 at 10:10
Dear Simon,
Good morning from my end in Africa. Thanks for all the vital information you have been providing us. They have proven very useful.
We are among the selectees and my wife is the principal applicant with case number AF25k.
Since we submitted all our (DS-260) forms, we have not received any information from KCC. We were asked to obtain required supporting civil documents but in the last paragraph below my signature which I copied from the confirmation page, we were told
”You do not need to submit any documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center. The KCC will review your application and will notify you if any of the information you have provided is insufficient or incomplete”.
Since then, we have not gotten any communication from KCC.
Were we to submit the required documents at the time or are they the documents you spoke about in the video?
Thanks in advance for the feedback and all the information.
Signature
Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application Confirmation
Thank You Your Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application (DS-260) was sent to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) for review.
Next Steps
All Diversity Visa applicants must:
1. Obtain required supporting civil documents.
2. Obtain photographs that meet the Department of State’s visa requirements.
3. Review the information specific to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General where your visa interview will occur.
You do not need to submit any documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center. The KCC will review your application and will notify you if any of the information you have provided is insufficient or incomplete. Your DS-260 application will be kept on file with KCC until a visa number is available for you and your case can be scheduled. When your case is scheduled, the KCC will send you an email message directing you to log into the Entrant Status Check (ESC) website for further instructions.
March 2, 2021 at 19:49
You WILL need to supply documents. You can send them now.
March 2, 2021 at 10:32
Hi Brit ,
please help me
I didn’t send police certificate or any explanation while It’s mentioned in reciprocity by country page that the police certificates from iran are available but unreliable and immigrant Visa applicants aren’t required that. So Now I have doubt about that even do they accept my documents or not so
should I resend my documents email?
March 2, 2021 at 19:51
Resend your whole package, but include a screenshot for Iran reciprocity page to explain why you aren’t sending the Iran PC.
March 10, 2021 at 17:47

Hi BritSimon,
I renewed my passport after selection. New passport + Old passport + Hand written explanation are combined in 1 pdf file. Is it ok?
In my written explanation I said that I will not go back to my home country anymore so renewing the passport before it is expired in 2022 (around 1 year left). Do you think it is a valid reason? Thanks
March 13, 2021 at 21:08
Yes, that’s OK
March 18, 2021 at 20:17
Hi Brit! DO you advice to submit documents for AOS`ers with high numbers?

March 19, 2021 at 19:36

No
March 21, 2021 at 10:59
Dear Brit,
My case number is 2021AS00009xxx. On March 14 I submitted my documents to KCC.
I served in the Israeli military and therefore submitted my military record (form 807).
After I sent the email, I noticed one error the translator made – referring to my army discharge, the word “her” was used instead of “his”. As in “upon her release” >> “upon his release”. I remember you recommended not to email the documents multiple times, but do you think I should send KCC the corrected document?
Do you know if it takes additional processing times for military records (I served the mandatory 3 years)?
Have a great weekend and thanks for you updates,
J
March 21, 2021 at 16:19
The difference is trivial. Ignore it.
No extra processing time.
March 23, 2021 at 00:05

March 24, 2021 at 03:08
Hi Brit, thank you for the video!
My case number is SA12XX. I sent my documents + certified translations back in June, 2020 and I got the ready for schedule email from KCC in october (“and you have provided all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center”), but still hadn’t receive the 2nl. I’ve 3 questions:
1. I saw one of your answers to a comment saying police certificates are acceptable up to 12 months. My police certificate is from June, 2020. Should I send KCC a new police certificate? If yes, should I sent the full set of my documents again like the first time? (I checked the documents with the info of your video and the official sites and I’m sure they’re ok. In my case it’s just me, lived in one residency/country, so there aren’t many documents required).
2. My passport is going to expire in August, 2021 and there’s no renewal process in my country, so I have to get a new one. The soonest appointment is for April,12 and I would probably be getting my new passport in April 15 approx. My question is: should I wait for the 2nl first and then process my new passport. or should I start the process of getting a new passport now?
3. If I start the process now, what should I do if KCC schedules an interview date before I get my passport and therefore before I can sent them the email with the old passport+new passport? thank you!

1. Just take the old and new police certs to the interview.
2. Get it when you can, then take old and new to the interview.
3. See 2.

Dear Brit,
Do you I understand it correctly that if I lived in the USA for more than a year, a US police certificate is not required? They only require police certificates from countries other than US?
Thank you!!

Dear Brit,
Please advise, I sent the DS260 on March 16th (I know, it’s very late but it is what it is, unfortunately), my case number is EU20XXX. Is this a high number or should I go ahead and send those scanned documents to KCC?
Do you think there is a chance of interview scheduled by the end of the fiscal year?
Thank you for your reply.

Hi Brit,
Please can help me with normal confirmation message Kcc can sent you when you sent your documents? I sent my documents and only received automaty reply. The said they have received my message instead of documents. Is that the normal confirmation?
Thank so much for your help.

They send the automated email, then later they say you have provided all the documents. It’s clear which email is which.
