This visa bulletin covers December interviews.
For those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, they can expect their 2NL in about 2 weeks from now. I know I am going to get a lot of people who will ask me this exact question – so let me say that again. 2NLs for December interviews will be sent in about two weeks time. They will include interviews for cases that have been made current in this latest visa bulletin AND backlog cases that were already current last month but the DS260 was
We don’t know how far KCC will have progressed in terms of what submission dates will have been processed. Last month most 2NLs went to people who had submitted up to mid June. However, as I always point out – processing times for each case can be different, meaning two cases submitted on the same day may not be fully processed by the same day. As a guess I would imagine most submissions up to mid to late June would have been processed in time – but once 2NLs for this month are out we will see better.
Whilst DV2015 is still processing, this is the first visa bulletin of DV2016. Read this link if you are unsure how to read the visa bulletin.
For those that cannot understand why the pace has slowed down, please read this post from a month ago that explained the backlog effect on the VB.
AFRICA – 14500(Last month 13000)
Except
Egypt – 13000(Last month 10450)
Ethiopia – 12200(Last month 9800)
ASIA – 3600(Last month 3100)
Except
Nepal – 2550(Last month 2450)
EUROPE – 14000(Last month 12500)
OCEANIA – 525(Last month 400)
SOUTH AMERICA, and the CARIBBEAN – 625(Last month 600)

Hi
Visa bulletin is going to move faster than that you have predicted for Europe. For the December interviews number went to the 14000.
I don’t understand why this trend of visa bulletin when the number of the selectees is smaller this year for Europe.
Thank you Brit for your amazing work.
October 9, 2015 at 17:03
Very slow…they just add 1500 to AF region
I better take my mind off it for now since my number is in 23000…
Frustrating
October 9, 2015 at 17:10
To understand this better, look at this…

October 9, 2015 at 17:45
Hi
I know that this question I’ve made personally earlier. If you have time and opportunity to give me an answer! I need your opinion.
Based on the actual number (14000) for Europe when do you think my number EU22XXX will be current for interview?Your posting to the earlier “When I will have an interview” I read it with attention.
Can you give me an opinion outside this post because as far as Europe things have changed a bit. I think these three months the number has gone higher than it was thought. I also am aware that the trend in the coming months will be slower.
However I needed a prognostic yours for my case number.
Thank you for your help.
October 9, 2015 at 18:10
Again, this is NOT different to what I had thought or had posted. Up to now I have no CEAC data for DV2016, so whilst I did predict the linear progress as a general guide AND I pointed out the numbers would start high and then slow down (pointed that out in August and clarified by in September), I can’t get any more precise than that. Essentially I expect the linear chart to still be “in the ballpark” later in the process. So – you will have to wait and see.
October 12, 2015 at 21:55
You have to wait for the next month VB and see Alban. Patience.
October 9, 2015 at 17:51
Hi Brit,
Based on the rate of increment in Asia (500 per month), do you think my CN of AS9XXX has any chance of going current?
Thanks in advance.
October 9, 2015 at 18:11
The rate of increment has little to do with the final number. Now – AS9XXX is obviously risky – simply comparing to DV2015, but we don’t have any data to say exactly how risky. It is too early.
October 9, 2015 at 22:47
Hi Brit, thanks for your reply.
October 9, 2015 at 17:53
Hi Brit,
Hope the life is treating you well.
what do think of the pace of Asia’s visa bulletin? Is it fast enough? Is it gonna be faster than now for the upcoming months considering the fact that this is the second year of ds260 form and the number of winners which is very similar to the year 2013?
October 9, 2015 at 18:13
It is in line with my expectation. Fast start, slowing down because of backlog. You can compare this to DV2015 more than DV2013. The lower number of selectees just means fewer people with very high numbers – but there will still be a lot of people too high.
October 9, 2015 at 17:56
I think my case number AF 49### will not be called because of backlog cases just like DV2015
October 9, 2015 at 18:17
It is too early to be certain…
October 18, 2015 at 13:21
Ahmed . plz give me email . i got 2015 but my case Number was high cuz of that i did not get interview
October 9, 2015 at 18:56
pending for embassy review ……………?
i am current and was expecting my interview for October , November but not received ,
My case Number 22## from Nepal and my original submission on 28th may and re-open and resubmit on 3rd July. When i can expect my 2NLS .
Thanks
October 9, 2015 at 18:58
In about 3 weeks, for a December interview.
October 9, 2015 at 19:07
Thanks Dear Brit Sir.
God Bless You .
October 9, 2015 at 19:24
What is chance for nepal case no 5500
October 9, 2015 at 19:28
Pretty good – but we don’t have the data to be certain.
October 9, 2015 at 19:26
Dear Brit sir, I m not clear on the point that Asia 3600 but Nepal only 2550 as of November bulletin that i just received And my case no is 41xx from Nepal how far shall I wait for interview? Can u please just explain me and I submitted the documents in June 22 .
October 9, 2015 at 19:28
You will wait until the Nepal specific number is removed OR until that published number is higher than your number. I do not know when that will happen.
October 9, 2015 at 20:28
Hello Simon,
Judging from your vast experience, what are the chances for “borderline” CN’s (20-40 numbers below the cut-off) to be called? Can it happen so that the current number won’t be called just because it’s too close to the cut-off?
Thank you.
October 9, 2015 at 22:40
If the cut off is 125, the highest number that can be called is 124. 125 itself cannot be called. It is precise, not a range.
October 9, 2015 at 21:43
Hi Simon
I need your analysis for EGYPT , It is different than last year,
October 9, 2015 at 22:39
I don’t have analysis. But relax, Egyptian numbers will be concentrated in the lower ranges and there are less winners this year. So – no problem.
October 9, 2015 at 21:56
Dear Simon,
I have an issue that I need to clear.
I am winner of DV-2016
My name consists of three names in DV-entry in Oct.2014 and was as the following: (First Name: Ahmed,, Middle Name: Kamel,, Last Name:Tawfik)
When I filled in my DS-260 form I wrote my name as in passport which is four names: (First Name: Ahmed,, Last Name/Surname: Kamed Tawfik Ali)
Will the Extra Name: Ali cause any problem of discrepancy between KCC letter (Ahmed Kamel Tawfik) and DS-260 (Ahmed Kamel Tawfik Ali) ?? Do I need to unlock ?
N.B.I am Egyptian and Egyptian passports list names as full name without distinction between first, middle or last name.
Thanks.
Ahmed.
October 9, 2015 at 22:20
The incorrect name in the eDV creates some small risk. The right remedy for that is to complete the DS260 with the accurate name – which you have done. So there is nothing more you can do and the CO will decide on the day of your interview.
October 9, 2015 at 22:27
Thanks a lot.
May I add the name used in eDV to the DS-260 as an answer for: Other Names Used ? Or it’s not a sound idea ?
Thanks.
October 9, 2015 at 22:49
Yes you can do that if you want.
October 10, 2015 at 00:55
Dear Simon,
What about AS71xx now after the new list is released? Do u think it is safe now or what?
Thx
October 10, 2015 at 04:25
Nothing has changed. Too early to tell…
October 10, 2015 at 01:07
Hloo brit, going thru the november visa bulletin, wat do u think the increment will b for nepal next mth?? Ur assumption for november came true.thank u for ur continuous information.
October 10, 2015 at 04:25
I don’t really know. As a trend I suppose we have another slowish month ahead for the December VB….
October 10, 2015 at 04:41
Hello Britsimon.
Thank you for all the information. I wish I had come across your website before. I would appreciate any advice you may have on my current situation:
– CN: 2016EU between 12500-14000
– Entered lottery as Single (marital status)
– Submitted DS-260 as Single (May 2015)
– Originally planned to get married in 2016, but I was not aware it may take around 2 years to sponsor my spouse (F2A)
– If I understand correctly odds are I will receive my 2NL in about two weeks time.
1. Is it still advisable that I get married as soon as possible, email KCC to have my DS-260 unlocked, update my status to Married, and add my spouse as applicant?
2. If I get married after receiving 2NL but before the CO interview date, will I still be granted the opportunity to enter all required updates in my Visa application?
3. Would it be significantly better if I manage to get married before I receive 2NL?
4. I believe I read in one of your previous posts that a change in the marital status may take about one month to process. Should I therefore expect my interview to be postponed?
5. Is there any risk that due to my late changes my application is failed altogether?
6. Any potential additional issues?
Thanks a lot for any help you can provide!
October 10, 2015 at 05:28
I would contact KCC immediately and ask to unlock the DS260 – the idea being to delay the interview. It is better to delay the interview and be married. If you want to do that, you may want to call them on Monday too – because they will be gathering the cases together for scheduling.
October 10, 2015 at 06:08
Thanks Britsimon for all the support in terms of advice and positive guidance. My two minute interview was successful. Just wondering when the data on the Visa Status check for 2016 applicants will be loaded.
October 10, 2015 at 15:14
Congratulations. CEAC data wasn’t loaded until late December last year…
October 10, 2015 at 10:57
Hey Simon I have some teeth cavities , should I be concerned about this affecting the medical?
I know I better get these issues sorted out here before I go to the Us if I get my visa since its all cheaper outside the Us.
October 10, 2015 at 15:12
Absolutely no issue.
October 10, 2015 at 20:03
hi brits , with this increase , do you think Africa can hope 51XXX ?. regarding visas dv 2015 have not been distributed , do you think this year, it can also have a surplus of visas to arrive at 55000 ?? Finally , what is the added benefit of selection candidates instead 84000 125000 ???
October 10, 2015 at 21:08
I don’t know what the 2016 max case number will be. No one does.
2015 unused visas are not available to 2016. They are wasted.
THey actually selected approx 93000. AF region is still oversubscribed.
October 10, 2015 at 21:47
Brits last dérangement.étant given that I ‘m 20 and I totaled 21 in January , is it possible to register with my mother and then also play alone ?. having more than 21 years in case I am selected will not cause problems ??
October 11, 2015 at 00:28
Your mother must include you, but by the time she is interviewed you will be too old. You can also enter yourself.
October 10, 2015 at 22:54
It is likely to get December interview. Submitted dv260 on 20 July and have case number 2016af51##
Thank u n waiting for ur quick response.
October 11, 2015 at 00:25
Yep – maybe December, but probably January.
October 11, 2015 at 05:50
Why some countries are specified like nepal? Any benefits for that countries? And is there any chances for the removal of that specification?
October 11, 2015 at 06:36
What do you mean “specified”?
October 11, 2015 at 11:19
Sir actually, i mean that why some countries like ethiopia and Egypt from Africa and nepal from asia geographical regions are kept in exceptions in all these currents visa bulletins?? And is this beneficial for these countries?
October 11, 2015 at 15:27
Those countries have a high concentration of winners (if you want to know why, check the article below). To avoid processing those countries too fast they are in exceptions – they progress slower than the rest of the region – so that is not a benefit to them

October 11, 2015 at 05:56

October 11, 2015 at 07:13

I put My chargeability Bhutan as it is my birth place and i left the country when i was 8 years old Now i am the Citizen of Nepal and live with my husband along with 2kids and i have all passpot, Citizen and qualification certificate of Nepal itself.I haven’t any document that support my birth place is Bhutan but my parents who currently live in USA give me a Affidative of Birth.Did i Make Mistake by putting chargeability Bhutan ?
Every one tell me i am Gambling by doing so .It is compulsary to bring the travel document of the country that we charge ?or Document of Nepal will safe for me . I have not that much idea about this matter. Everyone tell me that iam taking Risk so , Please Help me Simon sir.
October 11, 2015 at 07:54
It is very important you put your birth country. The passport you have doesn’t matter. Don’t listen to fools.
October 11, 2015 at 12:55
I have a question for BRIT. is that once the DS is fully subject may access the information that has informed the change without any time and without even requested that unlock ???
October 11, 2015 at 13:12
I have a question for BRIT. Once registered Ds permanently. Is it possible to check the information recorded. No change or unlocked the DS
October 11, 2015 at 15:20
YOu can look at it anytime.

October 11, 2015 at 18:36
Your number is not too big. If you are doing adjustment of status you will be able to file when you see the number announced on the VB.
October 11, 2015 at 22:58
Were hoping for a December interview, but they incremented the AF region with barely a dent in the numbers. January now I guess. My # AF15xxx
October 12, 2015 at 03:31

Hi brit my issue is my sponsor sent me i-864 instead of i-134 form, please help me out.will it be any problem
October 12, 2015 at 04:00
You cannot use the I-864
October 12, 2015 at 03:47
Dear Brit sir
Can u please guess when shall a case no 41xx from Nepal has chance for Second letter? Could u please suggest why Nepalese numbers are in slow pace in vb
Thanks
October 12, 2015 at 03:59
https://britsimonsays.com/backlog-effect-on-visa-bulletin-explained/
41XX will be some months yet.
October 12, 2015 at 05:00
Hello sir,
i am applyig based on my work experience since i do not hve high school diploma, i am bit clumsy where i lost my job promotion letter which was given 3 years back. How should i proceed further, Our company has recruited new HR Manager , can he prepare me the job preparation letter ?
October 12, 2015 at 13:38
That is one of the things you should get, yes. Gather plenty of evidence and read my post on work experience.
October 12, 2015 at 23:58
Thanks simon when my HR manager prepares will he need to back date my promotion letter since i lost it he will have to prepare my letter again with the current date right?
October 13, 2015 at 04:47
You should ask for a history of positions showing promotions etc.
October 12, 2015 at 05:23
Hi Simon,
Do you think Ethiopian numbers will be concentrated in the lower ranges and there are less winners this year?
My case no is 136xx, will it be for January or Feburary?
Thx!!!
October 12, 2015 at 13:37
Yes Ethiopian numbers are concentrated – that is clear. Yours could be Jan or Feb – I don’t know….
October 12, 2015 at 05:30
Bi Brit..
According to the slow movement of Visa Bulletin in Africa region , It seems my Case number of 48000 will not be reached , what do u think, we are hopeless rilly…..
October 12, 2015 at 13:36
There are 9 months left of a 12 month process. It is silly to be guessing at this point.
October 12, 2015 at 08:27
Hi Brit, hope you are doing fine.
Me and family got visas couple of weeks ago but i have two questions before i leave
.1 I hear people talking about having to turn in their x-ray reccord(among other things) at the point of entry but all we got is our visa stamps and that sealed envelope. I dont have any x-ray reccord.
2. In our DS260 we put a certain address where we will get our GC and we put the same address at the question “where will you be living once you arrive in US” and is also the address of our sponsor. The address is in NJ but lately i got a job offer in chickago and also a place to stay so can you please tell me if we are allowed to travel directly to chickago and just give them the new address ? We are afraid that they may say to us “you have to go to NJ or even deny entry .
Please advise
Thanks in advance
October 12, 2015 at 13:32
1. There might be a CD in you packet, but don’t worry it is not required at the POE.
2. There is no problem with living somewhere else. Relax.
October 12, 2015 at 14:23
Thanks Brit, i know a GC holder can live anywhere but i thought that we could be somehow “tied” to the destination address that we put in ds260 first time we enter US. I just didnt wanna risk by messing with USCIS rules after such a headache i had till i got my visas 🙂
October 12, 2015 at 15:15
No, you are not tied in any way. Just inform USCIS after you change your address.
October 12, 2015 at 15:14
hello,
my case number is AF 285**, do you think i will get called up because of backlog cases just like DV2015? i submitted my DS260 in August…
October 12, 2015 at 15:15
Yes that number will be reached.
October 12, 2015 at 15:25
Brit hope u doing good.i was expecting affidavit of support from my sponsor to be i-134 but it turn up been i-864 form and we are family of three any correction or he should send i-134 rather. she sent the i-864 already. thanks
October 12, 2015 at 15:32
You cannot use the I-864.
October 12, 2015 at 15:30
Brit good afternoon,my case no is 2016AF0001304# an i submitted my DS 260 on July 20 when i have my interview.thanx
October 12, 2015 at 15:33
Maybe December, but more likely January.
October 12, 2015 at 15:53
Hey Brit ,
DV 2016 Winner
AF35***
Is it a safe number , I belive it is , comparing to last years VB , I guess I should get an interview By June or July if I’m not mistaking , Would love to have your opinion if it all possible .
Kind regards to you and to your angel Sofia
October 12, 2015 at 16:32
I think your assumptions are all correct.
October 12, 2015 at 20:27
Hi simon,
I have been already current, just waiting for the 2NL. Just one question, if I can prove the bank statement with sufficient amount of money, do I still need the i-864 Affidavit of Support or i134 form? Or I can just bring my bank statement? Thanks!
October 12, 2015 at 20:46
The I-864 is not used in DV cases. The I-134 is used – but is not always required. Some (very few) embassies may still request it despite bank statements.
October 12, 2015 at 21:12
Thanks simon, so do I still have to prepare for the I-134 when I have sufficient amount of bank statment? My interview location will be in Hong Kong.
October 12, 2015 at 21:37
It is up to you. If they accept your bank statements, then will probably leave it at that. However, if request the I-134 and you don’t provide it, you will be placed on AP until you produce it. So – your choice.
October 13, 2015 at 07:47
Brit, I hope u are good.my question is my uncle is sponsoring us and he sent us all the necessary document but his sent us i-864 instead of i-134 form.will it course any problem.we are in Ghana.have a blissful day.thanks
October 13, 2015 at 13:50
You cannot use the I-864 in DV lottery cases.
October 13, 2015 at 08:33
my case no is 2016AS000017** an i submitted my DS 260 on July 08 when i receive second letter? plz reply me
October 13, 2015 at 13:46
Maybe in 2 weeks from now (DEcember interview) if they reach your submission date, otherwise a month after that for a January interview.
October 13, 2015 at 11:47
Hi Brit,
I am expecting an interview in December as my cn got current in September and submitted my ds-260 form on july 3, 2015. A colleague of mine should have sent the I-134 but he’s not meeting the poverty guideline, if I get another I-134 from another person without unlocking will it be a problem for me?
October 13, 2015 at 13:43
You can get am I134 from anyone – it does not have to be your host – so there is no need to unlock for that.
October 13, 2015 at 12:34
It is likely to get December interview. Submitted dv260 on September and have case number 2016af000004
Thank u n waiting for ur quick response.
October 13, 2015 at 13:41
You possibly won’t get a 2NL before December or January – and your interview will be February/March
October 13, 2015 at 15:09
Hey Brit,
Do you think 2016AS00006000 has some chance. I am from Nepal.
Thanks
October 13, 2015 at 15:49
Probably yes, but it is too soon to be certain.
October 26, 2015 at 18:55
please i have a case number AF26907 when will i be called for interview?
October 26, 2015 at 18:57

October 13, 2015 at 20:31
Dear Brit sir,
I would like to know regarding police clearance certificate since I m residing in Qatar for 22 months and I have EDV in other hand, some of my colleagues said we can get Pcc from Nepali embassy approved by MOI of Qatar too but some of informed me to get via CID of Qatar , so can u please suggest me any idea on it?
Your quick response will be appreciated,
Thanks and Regards
Ramesh
October 13, 2015 at 22:50
Very clear instructions are on the reciprocity page.
http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/QA.html
October 14, 2015 at 12:49
Hi Ramesh
Where r you now?
If you are in Nepal there is some procedure to get a fingerprints and stamp in foreign affairs Nepal and attest in Qatar embassy Nepal. Yes we can get PCC from CEID Qatar not Qatar embassy Nepal.
October 13, 2015 at 21:59
Hi Brit,
I trust that you are well.
I just wanted to ask your thoughts on Oceania. Are you happy how it is progressing? As expected?
My number is circa 900
Kind Regards
Hugh
October 13, 2015 at 22:43
I don’t believe there are any 2016 OC numbers higher than about 1000. Based on those numbers and the overall response rate I am just about certain that OC will be current – everyone will be happy.
