Updated info below!
Really great news – President Biden has stepped in and revoked PP10014. He even referred to DV2020 in the proclamation – which you can read here.
Also there is an important announcement from the State department explaining how things will work INCLUDING an NIE for the 14 day restrictions – so that is not a concern for the DV2020 visas issued cases.
How does this affect DV2020 cases?
For people with unexpired visas, and you are not subject to a travel restriction you can (and should) travel immediately.
If you are subject to a 14 day restriction – there is a blanket NIE granted as shown in the Dept of State announcement linked above.
People that had visas issued in September but that visa has expired, you should be covered by the recent order – so hang on for clarification. The lawyers will be asking for clarification for those cases. They are working on it. Patience.
For people that did not get a visa in September or had their interviews cancelled, you will have to wait for the outcome of the Gomez case (April, maybe even May).
The lawyers are still fighting to increase the number of visas in Gomez too – again – we need to wait for the final outcome.
How about DV2021 cases?
The revocation will help get DV2021 going and there is specific language in the Dept of State announcement that speaks to getting the embassies going.
The Anunciato case will continue to try and protect the 55k visas, and to force the government to act on the cases.

February 25, 2021 at 15:35
Great to hear that! It is the result of your tremendous efforts together with the lawyers which you’ve put into reaching this incredible win. I am out of words to thank you for those efforts!
Now that my case number is AF31xxx do you give the green light to submit the DS-260?
February 25, 2021 at 19:23
Consider your embassy status, but yes You can submit.
February 25, 2021 at 15:20
Just to confirm, say I am flying from a non Schengen country with a layover in a Schengen country, I will be allowed to proceed and will not be required to quarantine right?
February 25, 2021 at 19:20
Yes
February 25, 2021 at 15:12
oh my God, that moment of drinking the wine, ahahaha… dear Brit, you are awesome. Let the Karma give all your positivity and kind acts back to you. May you and your family members be healthy and happy.
Dear Brit, I’m DV 2020. Do you think we will be allowed to go within 6 months? I know I’d better go now, but still I have some logistics to finalize. How will it work if my visa gets expired in March? I remember Judge Mehta told we could enter the country within 6 months??
February 25, 2021 at 19:18
Yes the lawyers, State department and I are all suggesting to make the move now, but if you can’t do that, the order should protect you. The only problem is that there could be an appeal or modification to the order – hence why moving now is the preferred suggestion.
February 25, 2021 at 20:24
Hello, Brit!As I am in the same situation as Leisley I have the following questions:Is it certain that the order would be modified and when we can expect that appeal to be hold? Is it possible to have answers of that issue in a few days?
February 26, 2021 at 21:17
I can’t predict what will happen.
February 26, 2021 at 07:04
Dear Brit, thank you. When is the deadline for the government to appeal Mehta’s Order? If I wait till March 1, will I know for sure? My visa expires on the 17th.
I know there is some hearing on March 1, will Judge Mehta finalize his order by then?
February 26, 2021 at 22:14
There is no set timeline for that. We just have to wait.
February 25, 2021 at 15:08
Hi Britsimon,my visa is expiring march and thanks to the Biden administration for uplifting the pp10014 and now am married but when i was interviewed i was single, what will i do here ?
February 25, 2021 at 19:16
You will have to sponsor your wife once you are the UDA.
February 25, 2021 at 15:00
The best news for us DV-2020. Just for clarification do we need any docs from our embassy in Greece (Schengen) stating that we have NIE’S? Or we just travel straight to USA (without 14 days out of Schengen) and just enter? Will they be informed for our NIE’S by the goverment? Asking because our visas expire in March 14 so we have to hurry if we need to quarantine for 14 days out of Schengen. Thank you for your great work and effort as ALWAYS!!!
February 25, 2021 at 15:07
No other document needed. Print out the DoS statement. The 14 day restriction does not apply.
February 25, 2021 at 14:44
Hello sir I’m from iran with the case number As12… i read your all articles but i want to ask you do you think i have any chance or not ? i dont know about iranian winners and cant relate them with visa bulletins i wish you can tell me your thoughts,,,
February 25, 2021 at 15:01
There is a chance.
February 25, 2021 at 14:01
Hello Simon, till 4th of march theres no ticket to transit istanbul turkey, theres a second option to book a flight with transit to belgrade serbia. But, i am afraid because i have an expuls(not permitted) in schengen area given by Greece gov.
February 25, 2021 at 14:02
What do you suggest me
February 25, 2021 at 14:07
I don’t have any way to help you book travel plans.
February 25, 2021 at 16:42
Anna, why dont you try flying with Ethiopian Airlines. it goes via Addis to Washington D.C . Or you can fly from your country to any African country that allows you to go visa-free then connect to USA, But ofcourse this may be expensive, but i guess worth it.
February 25, 2021 at 16:55
Thank you for your suggestion! Very kind 🙂
February 25, 2021 at 13:53
Hi Simon ! Thank you for all the effort . As NIE will be given to DV2020, i wanted to ask:
As ill fly from my home country, Albania (not in Schengen area), am i eligible to transit in an Schengen country prior to enter in US ? Does this NIE covers me ?
Thank you.
Have a good day!
February 25, 2021 at 14:10
Yes
February 25, 2021 at 13:36
Simon, I can only thank you for all the strength and love that you have put into this cause
February 25, 2021 at 13:31
Good job Brit.
For the Africa region the April 2021 VB increased by 8,000.
If we consider this constant, we can deduce that the VB of September 2021 would be 60,000. This constancy can even exceed 8,000.
Could I expect an interview with a 55XXX case ??
I have hope
February 25, 2021 at 14:11
There is no reason to believe that will be a constant.
February 25, 2021 at 13:12
You are really such a amazing personality ??
Huge amount of thank you from Nepal ….
Thank you Simon for your help …. I got lots from you….. Thank to everyone who help us Charls kuck n his team ,AILA , curtis and his team , Job Biden ……. Everyone who helped us … Thanks a lot lot lot…..

February 25, 2021 at 14:12
Wait and see.
February 25, 2021 at 13:00
Hi britsimon,For the dv 2020 who were not interviewed before 30th september 2020,will their time extended for the interview and issuance of visas?
February 25, 2021 at 14:06
That relies on the final outcome of the Gomez case.
February 25, 2021 at 12:51
could I travel from paris or should I contact the consulate for the NIE ?? I don’t want to have a boarding problem at Paris airport
February 25, 2021 at 14:06
Print the State department notice that describes the NIE.
February 25, 2021 at 12:40
Dear Brit,
Kudos to each and everyone, including yourself, for the unfailing effort in helping all of us who have been anxiously waiting to finally get the good news. I pray for those who have yet to hear the good news. Kindly confirm that it is not necessary for those in Schengen area (whose DV2020 visa will expire soon) to request NIE as per the notification in:
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/rescission-of-presidential-proclamation-10014.html
Many thanks and God bless you and family.
Beryl
February 25, 2021 at 14:04
Confirmed.
February 25, 2021 at 14:44
Thanks Brit. Very relieved that I can travel directly from Germany to the States without having to transit in a non-Schengen country for 14 days.
February 25, 2021 at 15:02
Yup.
February 25, 2021 at 12:28
Hi Brit I am a winner of dv2016.I want to the us stayed anout 3 yrs.and came back,I stayed for about a year because of some problem. Now I want to return to us,will the us embassy allow me a Visa? Thank you.
February 25, 2021 at 14:04
You can ask for a SB-1 visa at the embassy. However, you need to show a good reason why you wasted your Greencard.
February 25, 2021 at 12:24
Hi and congratulations for everyone!) Brit, I have a quite interesting situation. Do you know if USA immigration system is somehow connected with a Canadian immigration system? Assuming, that a person gets an invitation to an interview for green card, is there any changes that an officer will ask about previous immigration attempts to another countries? Will this have an impact or they are not allowed to ask? As you may have heard, Canada has an Express Entry system. What if a person is both applying for a Canadian citizenship and for a green card? I would be happy to hear your thoughts on this, because time is running out, and I am currently in such a strange situation. Being a dv21 winner, i was chosen just a few days ago for a Canadian program also. God knows how we struggled with a Canadian system, cause we’ve been in their system for 2,5 years and only LAST week I got an invitation. However, my thoughts and hopes are already with USA citizenship, and I’m hoping to get a Green card interview. CN eu14usa.
February 25, 2021 at 14:03
No connection.
February 25, 2021 at 10:53
Hello my case number is 32 and I have not yet received a message don’t know why
February 25, 2021 at 14:01
Maybe because you expect people to read your mind?
February 25, 2021 at 10:37
Will PCR report be valid for 72 hrs of leaving our native country or should be within 72 hrs of arrival to US Airport from our country?
February 25, 2021 at 13:41
I don’t know.
February 25, 2021 at 10:10
Hi Brit,
My visa is expiring on 08th March and I cant book a flight because all the travel agencies say dv visas are not allowed to travel until 31st March 2021 and they didn’t receive any updates about pp10014. When can we expect IATA to update this?
February 25, 2021 at 11:07
Why don’t you book online?
February 25, 2021 at 13:41
In a day or two. Show them the State department order!
February 25, 2021 at 13:59
Already did that but the same response. Hope they will recieve updates soon. Thank you for everything ?
February 25, 2021 at 10:08
Hi Brits, this is good news. Please what about expired visas. My Visa expired since february 5. Any positive information about us holding expired Visa? Thank you
February 25, 2021 at 13:40
You should be covered by the court order. Wait a few days for clarification how that might work.
February 25, 2021 at 10:04
Hi Brit,
If for whatever reason travelling before the expiry of my DV 2020 visa at the end of March is not possible, are you able to provide insight into how the 6 month visa extension would work-
1) once the visa is expired, could I enter the USA with an expired visa or would I need to get a new medical and be reissued a new visa?
2) if the visa were to be reissued would that be something I would need to organise with the embassy and would they be aware of this ruling?
3) Is this Mehta ruling final? As in if I cannot enter before the expiry date, is it a ruling that the visa has to be issued for 6 months after even if that means paying for a new medical? Or can this be overturned by the government lawyers?
As you can imagine packing and moving your life in 4 weeks takes time and reentering my country (Australia) is extremely difficult so once I leave it won’t be an easy process to get back like some other countries.
February 25, 2021 at 13:40
The State department, lawyers and I have all said use the visa before expiry date if possible. If not, you can use the court ordered extension – but that creates a small amount of risk that the order is challenged or modified.
As for how the extension will work – I don’t know specifics.
February 25, 2021 at 09:42
FYI. Please also see update on this government link.
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/rescission-of-presidential-proclamation-10014.html
”DIVERSITY VISA 2020 Applicants: Those holding diversity visas issued in 2020 that are still valid may seek entry to the United States immediately, despite the visa annotation, “Entry Subject to PP 10014.” Individuals whose DV-2020 visas have expired may not be issued replacement visas; however, individuals who received diversity visas in 2020 as a result of orders in the court case Gomez v. Trump may travel to the United States on an expired visa as the court ordered the government to treat these visas as though they were issued on the date P.P. 10014 was rescinded. The court did not specify for how long the visas would be considered valid. Additionally, it may be possible that the court order could be changed or modified in some important respect. Therefore, applicants wishing to benefit from the order are encouraged to travel as soon as practicable as the order could change.
The Secretary of State has granted a national interest exception for Diversity Visa (DV) applicants for the 2020 fiscal year (DV-2020) who hold a valid immigrant visa and are subject to the geographic COVID-19 Presidential Proclamations. In addition, diversity visa applicants for DV-2020 who were not issued visas before September 30, 2020 for any reason including P.P. 10014 will not be interviewed, scheduled, or reconsidered for visas, as those applicants were only eligible for issuance of a visa through the end of the 2020 fiscal year, which ended on September 30, 2020.
DIVERSITY VISA 2021 Applicants: DV applicants for the 2021 fiscal year (DV-2021) should wait to be notified of the scheduling of an interview in accordance with the phased resumption of visa services framework.”
February 25, 2021 at 09:34
Hi Brit,
My Dv2020 visa expires on March 20th. Does it mean I necessarily have to activate the green card by entering the US before March 20th?
From the emergency injunction of the District Court of Columbia a few days ago I understood that, once the PP10014 is lifted, the visas issued in September 2020 will once again be valid for six month counting from this day. Is this still true and I can enter until August 24th or am I missing something?
Thanks for explanation. Either way great news.
February 25, 2021 at 13:39
The State department, lawyers and I have all said use the visa before expiry date if possible. If not, you can use the court ordered extension – but that creates a small amount of risk that the order is challenged or modified.

Hello dear Simon. Hope all is well with you and with your family. Thank you very much you can imagine we have been waiting for this news day and night. I have couple of questions. My case number is EU – 15XX. So my question are these.
1. When should i do medical check up?
2.Will KCC send interview date info to my email?
Thank you very much.
February 25, 2021 at 13:34
1. When you get the 2NL
2. Yes – the FAQ covers what the 2NL is like.
February 25, 2021 at 08:07
Woke up to this beautiful piece of news. What a great day it is. FINALLY! People can now breathe. Congrats to all DV2020 who can finally travel. Happy for what it means for us, DV2021 winners.
Also, thank you very much Brit. You are a monument of positivity. If only everybody could be that way. It really is important to see the good in everything, for everything really turns out for good in the end. Thanks for your hardwork, your patience, your encouragements.
February 25, 2021 at 13:33
Thanks!!
February 25, 2021 at 07:58
We thank God for majority who have visas…

Travel.state
In addition, diversity visa applicants for DV-2020 who were not issued visas before September 30, 2020 for any reason including P.P. 10014 will not be interviewed, scheduled, or reconsidered for visas, as those applicants were only eligible for issuance of a visa through the end of the 2020 fiscal year, which ended on September 30, 2020.
February 25, 2021 at 10:51
Those lines make me nervous too. I am #5. I am with you Alice.
February 25, 2021 at 13:32
Yes – so the Gomez case is the chance for those cases.
February 25, 2021 at 07:55
No commenNo comment!!! you are a real man. Eventhough my chance is still in the reserved visa, i have a hope to enter USA by your, and others posetive humans great work.
Thanks ?
February 25, 2021 at 07:09
Thanks sir I pray that God will bless you and your family, I did an inquiry at KCC here is the result is it good news for me? Thanks hope to hear from you very soon. Case#81829
you for your inquiry.
Your forms have been received and are currently processing. Allow several weeks for processing. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Once the Kentucky Consular Center has finished processing your DS-260, you will receive an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing.
In order for the Kentucky Consular Center to assist with inquiries regarding a specific Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant’s full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center does not have the authority to tell you whether or not your specific case will be disqualified. Only a consular officer can do that at the time of your visa interview. Do not send any paper documents to the Kentucky Consular Center
February 25, 2021 at 13:31
That means wait.
February 25, 2021 at 07:05
Good morning Mr. Simon,
You made my day man cheers 🙂
My visa will expire in March it says (Subject to pp10014 also maybe subject to pp993) do you have an idea what is pp993?
Thanks
February 25, 2021 at 07:01
Thanks to God and to you for the efforts.
February 25, 2021 at 06:53
Thank you Brit for the great work you did for us, we will not forget it.
February 25, 2021 at 06:42
Great news indeed ! Now…as a 2021 selectee, EU 358xx, and being in risk because of the high CN, I see the only chance if Annunciato case could provide all 55 k visas for this year, and extend the process after September 30, bcs there’s no chance they will be able to schedule all the interviews by that date.
Q: should I wait a couple of more weeks to send docs to the KCC regardless of not being notified to do so ?
?
February 25, 2021 at 13:30
You can decide.
February 25, 2021 at 06:37
May God bless you and your family! You will always have a special place in my heart. DV2020 visa holders here we gooo. USA is waiting for us.
February 25, 2021 at 06:34
woow good news indeed!
February 25, 2021 at 06:12
Dv2020 still waiting fr the good news
February 25, 2021 at 06:02
Wow! This is great! Thank you Simon!
Side question: if I travel to US, can i be interviewed there (what is the name of the Service who does that)? I am 2021
February 25, 2021 at 13:27
Don’t do that.
February 25, 2021 at 15:27
Thank you, but why not?)
February 25, 2021 at 19:22
Because you will introduce risk and delay. The proclamation is gone, so CP will probably be faster.
February 25, 2021 at 06:02
Hello Mr Simon!
I am a Dv 2021 winner and have already submit my DS-260. I would like to know how and when can I Submit Supporting Documents . Is it via Email or I will have to upload it on a website ? Thank you for the support
February 25, 2021 at 13:26
Read my other article from yesterday.
February 25, 2021 at 06:00
Great news! Hope is alive and well now!
February 25, 2021 at 05:55
Hi Brit, yay to the ban being removed. Due to some unfortunate curcumstances im unable to permanently move to USA on my DV 2020 visa right now. Would you know if i could validate my visa or green card if I enter the USA in transit to another country. Meaning i will only be in transit and not going out of the airport?
February 25, 2021 at 13:26
No you can’t do that.
February 25, 2021 at 05:50
What a great news to wake up to!
Thank you, Simon and cheers with a coffee!
There is one thing i am not 100% clear on: do 2NLs depend on whether the case embassy is open or not?
I am a low and already current case in EU region, Italy. Embassy and consulates here are not operating visa services: “The United States Embassy and Consulates in Italy remain unable to resume routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services at this time.”
Thank you
February 25, 2021 at 06:07
Never mind my dumb question. The answer is “of course”. Asking because i was thinking to change embassy but i heard in your video you don’t suggest it.
I guess i will only need to wait and see.
February 25, 2021 at 08:26
I’am really in the same situation, i live in France.
February 25, 2021 at 15:48
Here a new lockdown is incoming, until April 6 they say, as cases are increasing. Vaccinations are going worse than planned as there is a vaccine shortage in EU as you know, so honestly i don’t see the embassy or consulates opening soon…
February 25, 2021 at 13:25
We have to wait and see whether KCC pass the cases to the embassies, or not.
February 25, 2021 at 05:48
We thank God…God bless America
February 25, 2021 at 05:45
Congratulations to all. Now the issue will be corona victims and their soul destroying quarantine in the US.
February 25, 2021 at 13:25
Let’s focus on the HUGE win.
