I just want to take this opportunity to thank you for your effortless help. I entered the US on 27th and applied for the Social Security number today. Am I now eligible to apply for jobs and for my degrees how can I equate then to fit the US job market

Yes you can apply for jobs now, showing your endorsed immigrant visa as proof of status.
