So here are the numbers for April interviews. Pretty good progress for all regions with the obvious exception of EU. Those of you that watched my video about the CEAC data analysis will already know why that has happened – backlog cases from the previous months. To understand better, watch that here.
Region | All DV Chargeability Areas Except Those Listed Separately | |
---|---|---|
AFRICA | 41,000 | Except: Egypt 30,700 |
ASIA | 15,800 | Except: Iran 9,800 Nepal 10,500 |
EUROPE | 21,200 | |
NORTH AMERICA (BAHAMAS) | 16 | |
OCEANIA | 1,975 | |
SOUTH AMERICA, and the CARIBBEAN | 1,560 |
Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, they can expect their 2NL in about 1 to 2 weeks from now. This is the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month (although more recently it has been published a few days later – around the 17th/18th), and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs sent in two main batches, some early (around the 15th to 20th) and then some in the later part of the month. I would expect the 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month. The end of the month really means THE END OF THE MONTH. Please don’t waste my time later this month asking about 2NLs. Please. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.
Processing is spread out over the full year. You can see the progress of the two previous years in this post about basic questions. However, some countries have a high number of selectees and those selectees are concentrated in the lower case numbers. For various reasons, mainly to do with embassy capacity, KCC slow down certain countries as compared to the region. So – in Africa, any case with a case number shown as under the new number can be interviewed but for cases from Egypt, that number is lower. That isn’t a big problem, it just “slows down” those countries a little more than the rest of the region. Since selectees from those countries all have lower case numbers, this slowing down does not present any risk. It does not (at this point) mean they won’t allow all selectees an interview from those countries.
To understand why some countries get lower case numbers, read this article about the lottery draw process.
February 18, 2020 at 15:11
Europe only jumps for 200? Why is that?
February 18, 2020 at 15:36
Did you read the article??
February 18, 2020 at 16:00
I just read it.. Sorry. I can’t believe that is happening. Do you think this situation will change to better for Europe? I mean there are a lot of holes and maybe because of that they will go with “CURRENT”. My case number is EU51XXX, still trying to be positive about this but..
February 18, 2020 at 15:12
Hi Brit,
Thank you for your help and explanations.
So My CN is 2020AF00062*** (62K)
Do you think there’s any chance to get an interview at least on September?
Compared to the previous years I think it’s very possible.
I wanna hear your felling about that.
Thank you!
February 18, 2020 at 15:13
PS: DS260 and documents submited.
February 18, 2020 at 15:35
Yes.
February 18, 2020 at 15:37
Thanks a lot!
February 18, 2020 at 15:19
Thank you Mr. Simon for the updates , AF has a good jump again this month , I hope it’ll be like that till the end or get even better . Lol
February 18, 2020 at 15:22
hi brit, I sent my documents since August and they told me that everything is fine on September. My number is AF38185. My question is if they do not have enough place for the April interview, they won’t send us the 2Nl until the May interview open? Or they will send us our 2NL this month but the interview could be in May.
February 18, 2020 at 15:34
I don’t understand what you are asking.
February 18, 2020 at 15:27
Brit, do you think that for EU region this situation will continue? Or we will see the great progress in next months? Like, I’m pretty shocked that they have added only 200 cases. Never seen the situation like this.
February 18, 2020 at 15:31
You should already have been prepared for this – my recent video explained this as a possibility.
https://britsimonsays.com/ceac-data-refreshed-for-early-february/
February 18, 2020 at 15:35
But would this situation continue? What do you think?
February 18, 2020 at 15:36
I’ve watched this video like twice or more. Just asking if they will hurry up in later months or they will continue working like this. I was ready that they would add few case numbers because of backlog. You’ve seen more in this way than me.
February 18, 2020 at 15:28
Do you think they just wasted one month because back log in Europe?
Are higher case numbers in danger now??
February 18, 2020 at 15:32
You should already have been prepared for this – my recent video explained this as a possibility.
https://britsimonsays.com/ceac-data-refreshed-for-early-february/
February 18, 2020 at 15:58
dear mr simon,
we are prepared to this thank to your past video.
Now we will waiting for april and may Vb as you said are the most important to understand the future process.
i ask to you to calm down my anxiety, so i say sorry to you if i bored you.
Do you think Eu can be current?
at that point is stupid to say tha 40XXX is safe?
best regards
sofia
February 20, 2020 at 18:21
Hi Brit!My case number is EU245××.Do you think I am on the safe side?On your previous video you expected EU to jump to 26K by April based on the reduced density of the current numbers being scheduled. Thanks for everything, because I come to your site every day to get informed.
February 20, 2020 at 22:40
To ask about EU245×× is almost a silly question. OF COURSE it’s safe!
February 21, 2020 at 16:55
Thanx a lot…made my day…Waiting for your next article…
February 18, 2020 at 15:49
I would wonder if EU will barely reach 35 till August
February 18, 2020 at 15:33
Dear Brit
Through ur opinion what is the opportunity for AF71xxx for Egypt.
Thanks for you time and effort.
February 18, 2020 at 15:38
Egypt may remain capped – you’ll have to wait and see.
February 18, 2020 at 15:40
Do you reckon Asia is progressing well? After a standstill last month I was kind of hoping to see a bigger jump, but it seems like they’re just bringing Nepal and Iran up to speed with the rest…
February 18, 2020 at 15:51
Will there be a second draw for dvlottery 2020?
February 18, 2020 at 20:04
No.
February 18, 2020 at 16:11
A very small jump for SA. Any prediction?
February 18, 2020 at 20:10
I’m expecting the current pace to continue for the remaining 5 VBs – I think there is cause for concern for cases above about 3k.
February 18, 2020 at 16:14
no one expected Europe to give 200, so Mr.Brit what do you think will increase the numbers in May?
February 18, 2020 at 17:29
No one??? I did warn it could happen just two weeks ago. A whole video explaining why…
February 18, 2020 at 16:39
Hy thanks for your information I’m AF54k do u think do u think next VB I will be current kindly
Trough ur good opinion thanks
February 18, 2020 at 20:12
I don’t know – wait and see.
February 18, 2020 at 16:45
Hi Brit, it is me again. I am AF38185 and my case is current. I just want to know if we don’t receive the 2NL in two weeks. We need to wait until the end of next month? Maybe they won’t have enough place to give us an interview date this month.
February 18, 2020 at 20:13
They decide the VB movement based on the capacity they have…
February 18, 2020 at 17:05
Hi Simon, thanks for this post. Do you think SA high case numbers still got a chance? I know you can’t tell the future, but just based on your experience. Thanks!
My CN Is SA36XX 🙁
February 18, 2020 at 20:14
There is risk for SA high case numbers – just as I have been saying for some time now…
February 18, 2020 at 21:48
Hi.. from SA too. Ecuador here. So sorry about your high number. If God allows and embassys too lol finally next VB I could be current. Let’s see. Where in SA are you from if I may know?
February 19, 2020 at 16:32
SA here as well my number is SA27xx 🙁 from venezuela! Praying for SA to get current at some point! Fingers crossed
February 18, 2020 at 17:41
Congratulation
February 18, 2020 at 17:41
Hi Brit,
My case number is AF17XXX from Egypt, I have received e-mail from KCC earlier in Feb confirming that my DS-260 is processed and documents are approved and processed
My status on CEAV is still showing “At NVC”
1) Does this mean that I will not be scheduled for interview in April despite having the case number current from March?
2) Do you advise contacting KCC or the local embassy to inquire why my status is still showing “At NVC” not “Ready” despite receiving the mail that my case is ready for scheduling?
February 18, 2020 at 20:17
1. April or May. You might have been processed too late for scheduling in February.
2. No need. Just patience.
February 18, 2020 at 17:59
Please how long did it take for the visa to be issued after the interview? Because our case is on administrative process after two weeks of interview
February 18, 2020 at 20:18
AP times can vary from a few days to several months.
February 18, 2020 at 18:28
Mr.Britsimon,
Hopefully all is well with you!
With no doubt, we do appreciate for all good work!
Well, as my case no is concerned, 2020AF66***, all along trying so hard to fix what is needed to be but some where, still a huge limitation
A police certs. This case from Iraq, still hard as I contacted them and they are like, they no longer have such services at their embassies/consulates in foreign countries othar than in Iraq itself.
As i was filling out My Ds260 form, there’s this question..”Have I ever served in, been a member of, or been involved with a paramilitary unit”?
Then, this last one, ” Do I have any specialized skills or training such as firearms ”
1.It looks a police certs from Iraq , I may not be able to acquire it….What could be your last possible advise that could be there to save me?
2.Ever since being in Middle east countries, I have been serving a long U.S forces as a security specialist…can that qualify me to be a paramilitary member?
3.Of course I went through different trainings on so many firearms thou the training used to be short, Can that also qualify me to answer yes ? For having specialized skills or training?
Thank you so much!
February 18, 2020 at 20:23
1. You simply need to follow the instructions as described on the reciprocity page. Do EXACTLY as instructed.
2. Answer yes.
3. Answer yes.
February 18, 2020 at 18:35
Congrats. Sorry for saying but just remember you To make a donation for this great he is doing.
Good luck in your new life
February 18, 2020 at 18:43
at least they increased the EU region with 200 more cases and not decreased lol. I watched your last video at I didn’t expect to be a stagnation like this.
My CN is EU40xxx so there are 5 more VB’s to come and I think I’m out this year unfortunately .
February 18, 2020 at 20:26
It’s daft to be so negative over a VB – especially when you should be able to understand what is happening from my videos. Focus less on the VBs and more on the cases being scheduled.
February 18, 2020 at 19:30
Hi Brit, I got a small question regarding sponsorship (I-134). Since the financial year end from 31st of March, should I submit a new tax report from my sponsor. I mean they ask to submit a latest year tax profile right? Any clarifications?
February 18, 2020 at 20:32
The tax year ends December 31. So yes – your sponsor should have more recent tax info.
February 18, 2020 at 20:11
Hi Brit, do you have any idea of which numbers are going to be in the safe zone / possibility zone / danger zone for EU?
Thank you as always.
February 18, 2020 at 20:36
I’ll publish a new post/video i the next couple of days…
February 21, 2020 at 17:48
How much is the response rate till now for eu region? Thank you
February 21, 2020 at 20:59
You have the same data I have.

February 18, 2020 at 20:35

February 18, 2020 at 20:38

February 18, 2020 at 20:23
Hello Brit!
My case no is AF 00040*** and have send documents on November 2019. I waited kcc more than six weeks (until now) but didn’t respond . my question is
1. Is it OK waiting that but my case no became current on April.
2. My passport validity is up to Aug 2020. Do I need to change?
February 18, 2020 at 20:35
1. Contact KCC to see if they received and are satisfied with your documents.
2. You should renew it – and take old and new passports to the interview.
February 18, 2020 at 21:25
Greetings Brit, I am from Nepal (AS) and currently in USA Case # 14XXX filing for AOS. Does the cut off for Nepal applies for all Nepalese regardless of the process or can I go ahead and start AOS process as the current case is higher than my case#. Suggestion is highly appreciated, thank you so much!!
February 18, 2020 at 21:50
You have to wait until the Nepal case number exceeds your number.
February 19, 2020 at 18:35
Same here. Case No. 13***. Did you submit ds-260?
February 18, 2020 at 21:28
Do you reckon Asia is progressing well? After a standstill last month I was kind of hoping to see a bigger jump, but it seems like they’re just bringing Nepal and Iran up to speed with the rest…
February 18, 2020 at 22:08
It’s absolutely fine!
There are only 2200 cases left as not current – for FIVE months!
RELAX!
February 19, 2020 at 00:04
Awesome, thank you so much!
February 18, 2020 at 21:53
Dear Mr simon

Thank you for your answer
Best Regards
Sofia
February 18, 2020 at 22:17
I’ll post a video over the coming days.
February 18, 2020 at 22:19
Greetings Brit, I am from Nepal currently in USA Case # 14XXX waiting to file for AOS. Does the cut off for Nepal applies to all the Nepalese regardless of the process ( CP and AOS), or can I go ahead and start for AOS? Suggestion is highly appreciated. Thank you

February 19, 2020 at 02:42
Dear Brit. Pls pardon me if my question could be boring. I have been wondering why up till now I have not been asked to send documents. I’m a winner case number AF63+++ Cameroon to be precise. I had filled and deposited my DS260. Please I need your advice on what to do.
February 19, 2020 at 03:54
I think KCC believe they have asked everyone to send documents. Some, perhaps many, people have probably missed the emails. Send your documents.
February 19, 2020 at 06:11
Hi brit! Thanks for your blog.
I have some question,
My case no. Is AF69xxx, from Ethiopia and I received document submission request last week, but ididn’t sent still, b/c of some problem here. So
1. How long to send the documents?
2. Is there any problem if I send within next 7 to 10 days?
February 19, 2020 at 07:41
Hi Sir
I am here to tell you that we have scheduled for interview on 15 of March and also past the medical examination a week ago , so how many days we expect to get visa after interview.( Asia Region )11***
Thanks.
February 19, 2020 at 18:01
Usually a week or two – but if you are placed on AP it can take significantly longer.
February 19, 2020 at 17:53
2. No problem.
February 19, 2020 at 06:11
Please, my case number is now current, AF32XXX.I would like to know how I can check my status on CEAV. thank you.
February 19, 2020 at 17:54
You can check CEAC (for how, read the FAQ) – it will not have changed from at NVC yet. Once scheduled you will see “In Transit” briefly, then “ready”.
February 19, 2020 at 06:40
Dear Mr. Brit,
Can i change my sponsor, that i have mentioned in DS-260? can i submit the document of 2 sponsor at the time of interview. sponsor that i mentioned in DS-260 has lower income then new one, should I unlock my DS-260 to change the sponsor?
Is it necessary to go with sponsor, when i arrived to USA .
Thank You
February 19, 2020 at 17:55
One sponsor that meets the income requirements for the I-134. Read the FAQ.
February 19, 2020 at 06:51
Dear Brit,
Could you give some prediction about case number 54XXXX for EU.?
February 19, 2020 at 17:56
My prediction is that you will have a nervous time of waiting for a few more months.
February 21, 2020 at 11:45
Sure:)
February 19, 2020 at 07:17
Hi brit! how many cases are between 21.200 cn EU to 55xxx the end, and what do you think about my number do I have a chance EU47xxx,greetings
February 19, 2020 at 10:13
0 – 21200 = 7000…
21200 – 47000 = 6800..
February 19, 2020 at 16:12
So, there is a high chance right?
February 19, 2020 at 17:59
8859.
You have to wait and see.
February 19, 2020 at 07:20

February 19, 2020 at 14:34
Hi @ambealian
We created a WhatsApp group for Dv 2020 selectees in Cameroon et Afric were we share ideas and helpful info as far as our local Embassy is concerned, Care to join. Link below
https://chat.whatsapp.com/LurUBgBOLdeE1wCKLysoKg
February 19, 2020 at 21:22
It concerns me somewhat that blind are leading the blind. In the past – that led to high denial rates. So – to all in that group – be careful to make sure that what you say is accurate and based around truth.
February 21, 2020 at 21:45
Hi Mr. Brit
My Case Number is 2020AF00039+++, which has gone current for April interview. I received a mail today from KCC informing me that all my documents have been processed, and my case is ready to be scheduled for interview, but in case of any delay, I should contact KCC. My question is, the delay actually means by when?
February 21, 2020 at 22:57
You will be scheduled in March for a May interview.
February 19, 2020 at 18:02
June/July
February 22, 2020 at 09:24
You mean I will be scheduled in March and interviewed in May, when my case has gone current for the April Interview? I don’t understand Sir, or you mean that’s what the delay actually means right, in case of any?
February 22, 2020 at 09:47
Hi Daniel, Can you give me your whatsapp I have same confusion and I didnt get any notification about the my document…
February 22, 2020 at 10:18
No Dany, I don’t have any confusion, I received a message from KCC which says “Our records indicate you have submitted all documentations which have been processed and you case is ready to be scheduled for interview, but in case of any delay when your case is current, please contact us. My question was, what could be the time frame of delay they are referring to? But I know my case will be scheduled for April’s Interview.
February 22, 2020 at 15:37
Yeah. You are confused. You will NOT get interviewed in April….
February 22, 2020 at 11:12
Daniel thank you for your response.when did you send your supporting document? our case current in april of course. I have sent oct, and february this month and didn’t get any reply. which makes me worrying.
February 22, 2020 at 15:33
My reply was clear. May interview.
February 19, 2020 at 08:36
Hello Brit,
So, I got an email few days ago from KCC requesting me to send few documents, and my case number just became current for April. Until the moment, I could not finalize the documents and it might take me another week. I have a couple of questions regarding my situation:
Does this mean I might miss the 2NL patch that will be sent by the end of this month?
If I miss it, would they send me the 2NL in the next patch in the following month, or they can send it anytime?
And once I get the 2NL, what is the time period that KCC usually gives between the 2NL and the actual appointment time; keeping in mind that I have been delayed in submitting my documents and I missed the 2NL patch in FEB.
Thank you very much for helping people out there, appreciated!
February 19, 2020 at 18:08
Yes of course you will miss the current 2NLs. Once you send documents there will be time needed to process them. Once you submit your documents, you will be scheduled at a later date. Expect delays – you created the delay.
February 22, 2020 at 14:42
Hello Brit,
I have got the email for additional required documents from KCC on Monday, and I have sent everything today (which means a week). How can I check if my case got processed or not (my number is current for April AS13xxx)?
And based on your experience, do you think I will get the chance for the interview in April or is it a far shot?
Thanks a lot again
Ahmad
February 22, 2020 at 15:44
You sent documents too late for April interviews, so you will be in May most likely.
February 19, 2020 at 08:50
EU35k still looks fine?
February 19, 2020 at 18:08
Yes.
February 19, 2020 at 16:21

February 19, 2020 at 21:30

2. KCC
3. Read the article above!
February 19, 2020 at 19:04
Hello Britsimon,
I am from Nepal and my case was current on Jan. I am doing AOS so i had send the package and have already completed the biometric 20 days ago. My question is:
1) How long will they take to call for an interview? When can i expect the notice from USCIS?
2) Is there a chance i might directly be sent the welcome letter and green card instead of calling for interview considering that they are talking more time now?
Thanks!
February 19, 2020 at 23:39
AOS is a different process – so I tend not to answer those specifics. I’m sure you are following Sm1smom – so you are in good hands.
February 19, 2020 at 19:12
Hi brit
Is there any hope of being called for an interview for Af67k and when will it be?
February 19, 2020 at 23:39
Yes, wait and see.
February 20, 2020 at 04:01

February 20, 2020 at 14:19
Hi Britt. Is Eu31K safe after this VB?
February 20, 2020 at 16:52
a lot of people is asking about safe zone.
mr simon will soon get explanation off the Eu situation on a video.
I hope 40xxx is still safe.
sofia
February 20, 2020 at 22:27
Yes
February 20, 2020 at 17:33
Lets go with some statistics…
0-21200 / 7000 real cases.
21200-55.000 / 8859 real cases.
I think they can do all cases in 5 VB’s…
What do you think Sir?
February 20, 2020 at 22:36
That depends on these factors.
1. Embassy capacity (about 1000 to 1200 cases per month for EU)
2. How many of the cases under 21200 are yet to be scheduled.
3. How many of the 8859 respond and want interviews.
4. Possible, but not likely exhaustion of visas.
In short – wait and see.
February 20, 2020 at 18:04
Hi, Brit
I’m looking forward to see your new video about the EU situation. In the mean time I tried to look at the data and realized that the case number density is slightly higher for lower half of case numbers (~320/1000 vs 240/1000) . I calculated with real case numbers without holes, of course. Maybe this could be one of the small reasons for backlog, too 😉
If I could give here the graph…

Hi, brit
I sent the documents couple of weeks ago without writing the leading zeros in my case number, so should i send them again or it is fine.

Contact them and ask if they have the documents and are satisfied.

Hi Simon,
Thank you for your kind support all the time.
My case number finally gets current, and it seems I will have an interview sometime in April.
(Though, I haven’t received my 2NL yet)
So for me to prepare for the interview, I have one concern about my situation here.
I am a single mother of my 5 year old, and divorced almost 2 1/2 years ago.
I have my son’s custody, and raise my some all by myself without my son’s father’s support.
I make enough money to support my son, and I belive I can show enough money in my bank account. (Hope $40,000 is enough for me and my son)
However, the US and my contry are the member of “1980 Hague Child Abduction Convention”, and now wondering if there is a problem for me to bring my son to the US.
Although, my son and I have been to the US so many times, do you think we will have problem at interview?
I don’t know where his father live right now, and my son doesn’t remember his father.
Could you please let me know if you know anybody who passsed interview in this kind of situation.
Again, thank you for all the help in advance.
Warm regards.

You should make sure you have legal paperwork that shows you have FULL custody of the child. Father’s permission would be ideal, but failing that, you might be able to get a court to document that you have the sole right to remove the child from the country. In short – speak to a lawyer.
