The visa bulletin for August interviews has been released. The numbers have increased in line with my expectations – so no surprises if you listened to my video at the weekend. Some people might be surprised if they had listed to a certain clueless Youtuber however 😉
Good jumps in some of the exception countries so that those countries are almost aligned with their regions.
OC is held at the same number (as I had explained at the weekend), and that is confirmation in my view that the quota is close to being hit in that region.
Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.

Hi Simon,
Thank you for providing such excellent content and for answering all the questions regarding the DV lottery! I encountered a strange situation with the U.S. Visa Bulletin website concerning a change in the cut-off number. I know you closely monitor the webpage, so I wanted to ask if you noticed the cut-off number change for August DV2024.
I was using my cellphone browser and saw that the August cut-off number was 27,500 on the evening of July 8th or 9th. Based on this, I filed my AOS package. However, I just received a denial letter due to the number not being current and noticed that the cut-off number for August now shows 15,000 on the U.S. Visa Bulletin website. Unfortunately, I don’t have any proof at the moment. If you did notice this situation, it would be a great help for my appeal.
Best Regards,
YL

Sounds like a couple of things going on.
First of all, you don’t seem to know how the VB works or how to read it.
Second you seem unaware that the fiscal year is changing.
The ASIA region number would have said 27500 on July 8th. That is for DV2024 for September interviews.
Then the Africa region now says 15000. The AF 15000 is for DV2025 (October interviews)
So – what year, region and case number is yours?

Hi Brit, quick one, I have done during the covid period, 2 vaccinations for it(last one was done in the 2022).I have wrote an email to the clinic where the medical appointment has been scheduled and they said that I need to do another covid vaccine because they will consider only vaccinations made in the last 12 months from the med appointment. Have you ever heard about it ?
Thanks in advance for your answer

If they think you need a booster, get it.
July 4, 2024 at 19:35
Good Day Simon,
My wife case no is AS25000. Is there any chance Visa Bulletin will reach that no?
Pls advise.
July 4, 2024 at 19:52
What year?
For DV2024 probably not.
July 4, 2024 at 04:10
Hi, Simon. In your opinion, what’s the likelihood in % that the EU quota will be reached by Sep 30? What about the overall 55k quota?
July 4, 2024 at 08:03
To hit the quotas they would have to schedule well over 4000 interviews (globally) in September so I don’t think that will happen.

Hi Simon,
Please i am FREAKING OUT right now, i have my interview this July 2024 so i was putting my things together when i went online to take a look at my DS260 i realized i made a mistake with my wedding date i click the 18th instead of 28th but on my sponse’s form it is correct. Please what i do, will be denied because of this, should i write to the embassy? THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO US.
July 3, 2024 at 11:06
That date, probably from some years ago, is a trivial detail. It’s not a problem, just correct it at the interview.
July 3, 2024 at 14:45
thanks a lot Simon 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
July 3, 2024 at 04:07
Hi, Simon!
they invited very few people until now in EU comparing to previous years. What makes you think they can increase capacities in remaining months?
Thanks!
July 3, 2024 at 11:32
There is only 1 remaining month. For August they have scheduled 900 EU cases so far. Another month like that would be fine.

Hello Brit,
Hope you are doing good.
Thank you for all your replies which are very helpfull.
I have few questions:
-I still havent received the 2NL for Paris embassy (case number 2024EU29K) so I waited till the end of the month and I emailed the KCC today to know if my DS-260 was processed and they said “your case if now current for interview processing…” do you know what can be the reason I didn’t received a 2NL? (I know we supposed to wait until the end of the month of June so I did but I don’t see how many 2NL have been sent for Paris embassy.)
-Is it possible that they are waiting for more case to schedule or maybe they focusing on other type of visas?
-I have heard that Paris is a good embassy but when should I start to be worry if I don’t received the 2NL?
Thank you in advance for your reply. I looked your videos and read this blog to find some answers (which I did) but for the 2NL in Paris, I am worry and confused because there is no much time left to be schedule.

Wait.
July 3, 2024 at 06:43
Hello, on their website they say that all activities are onhold during the olympic and paraolympic games and will resume in mid-september…
https://fr.usembassy.gov/security-alert-100-days-until-the-paris-2024-opening-ceremony-17-apr-2024/
July 3, 2024 at 11:04
Thanks for trying to help, but that is not what that notice says. It discusses “routine U.S. citizens services” and during the period of the Olympics.
August 8, 2024 at 20:20
Hello
I am in the same situation as you but current for September interview. still have not received the 2nl yet. have you received yours and when approximatively is your interview date?
July 2, 2024 at 03:52
hello Brit.should your host file an I 134 for a dv lottery winner..and what should be taken to the interview from your host?
July 2, 2024 at 08:59
In some embassies or for some COs, having a host is enough. In other embassies/COs they will want the I-134.
The I-134 must be supported by tax statements (1040/W2), recent payslips and photo ID.
July 3, 2024 at 15:03
Can i change the host during the interview…i was given instructions to register my appointment on the website but it says case number not ready for appointment but i received my 2nl..should i write an email as it says on that website or should i wait a little longer
July 3, 2024 at 16:23
You can update the US address at the interview.
Wait to register.

Hello Brit, my case no. is DV24 – AS12xxx, in Beirut embassy.
1- I still didnt get my 2nl, is it still normal processing time or something is wrong ?
2- When do u think is the latest time to get 2nl and still get the visa before Sept. 30
Thanks very much ; )
July 1, 2024 at 14:41
Noting that I already emailed KCC, to ask if my DS260 form has been processed. their reply is as follows:
‘Your case number is now current for interview processing. If you are scheduled for an interview date, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.’
Does it mean that the DS260 has been processed from KCC, or their reply is not clear ?
Appreciate your support !
July 1, 2024 at 15:02
The reply means the DS260 is processed and the case is current. However, BRT embassy has been behaving badly for the last several months – not giving interviews. That represents a big risk for you.
July 8, 2024 at 03:58
Thanks Mr. Simon for your Reply..
1) What do you think is the best thing to do now, other than waiting..
2) Does it make it a difference if I contact BRT embassy ?
July 8, 2024 at 07:44
1. There is nothing else you can do now. It is too late to change.
2. No
July 1, 2024 at 14:58
1. I don’t know the reason in your case.
2. Early August.
August 29, 2024 at 11:03
Hello again Mr. Brit.
I still didnt receive my 2nl, I sent an email to Beirut embassy, with no reply
1) Do you have an update on Beirut embassy performance ?
2) Do you think it would help if we assign a lawyer to do a case, or I should accept that it is over
August 29, 2024 at 11:24
1. No
2. I don’t think a lawyer would help. KCC are informing embassies that they will not be scheduling more DV2024 cases.
June 28, 2024 at 18:06
Hey Britsimon,
With your belief that OC is close to hitting their quote. Is this something that you think will happen at the end of the FY or before it?
Will it affect the OC people who are adjusting status and currently awaiting interview?
June 28, 2024 at 20:35
I’m hoping it won’t be a hard stop. Just some caution exercised with the VB.
June 27, 2024 at 22:02
Hi Simon, sorry to bother you, I have read quite a bit you webpage and look at the data scrapping. The labour you are doing bringing clarity to this sometimes obscure processed is titanic work and cannot be thanked enough. I had one question that could use your unique expertise.
My number is 2024EU5xxx, it has been current since December 2023. DS260 was submitted on early may. Originally assigned to uscis then moved to canada by the kcc in mid august (due to spouse relocation) with the reassignment having been confirmed by the KCC. The DS-260 unlocked in mid august 2023 and resubmitted on the same day to correct the address. It is a principal and my wife as dependant.
We have not been scheduled yet, it shows as on NVC in CEAC and the DV status check has noct changed the text nor we have received the 2nl. Have received indication by kcc that it is processed although sometimes they say its processing. Since it is June and it has been more than 6 months since it has been current and given the dv deadline on sept 30 2024 we are getting a bit anxious on it. what would be your advice on how to proceed. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
June 28, 2024 at 09:17
I think something has gone wrong. As I understand it you submitted a DS260 originally planning to adjust status in the USA, but now have moved to Canada and expect your interview there.
However if you were processed and properly assigned to Canada, you would have been interviewed by now. MTL has taken interviews for cases far higher than yours. So – there is no doubt in my mind that something isn’t right. That can only be one of two things – either your DS260 is not processed OR your case is skipped somehow, possibly assigned to your “original” country for interview.
You must act now and contact KCC explaining very clearly that your case has been skipped somehow and should have been scheduled in Montreal. You need them to confirm they are scheduling you in MTL, and that your case will be scheduled in the next available batch. That will be the last chance. There will be no scheduling after next month.
June 24, 2024 at 16:48
Hello Brit.
I’m here to say Thank you for all your help, I arrived safely in the US
soon I will share my story on the other side.
June 24, 2024 at 19:31
Nice!!
June 24, 2024 at 15:54
Hello,
Could you please elaborate on a case number of AF72K DV 2024 from Morocco with a one visa bulletin left.
thank you so much
June 24, 2024 at 19:30
No amount of elaboration will predict the outcome or change the outcome. Wait and see.
June 24, 2024 at 01:45
Hello Simon, I’m 2025 win with the case 2025AF00002x, from Ghana, but I didn’t choose Ghana as my place of interview but rather Cote d’ivoire, please I want to know if that can cause a problem for me.
