The latest VB for August interviews has been released. I have been truly unsure how the numbers would progress, but these jumps seem pretty healthy – quite good in some parts.
Of course the disconnect between the left hand and the right hand is on full display. Iran specifically got a nice increase, but it is almost meaningless for the majority of Iranian applicants due to the ban.

Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.

June 30, 2025 at 11:39
Hi boss , What’s your expectation for the EU next visa bulletin? I’m curious about the number you have in mind for final cut off dv2025
June 30, 2025 at 14:02
I discussed this in detail during my live session yesterday. I am not going to guess the final VB number.
June 27, 2025 at 14:04
2025EU19xxx for Dublin embassy. Still no 2NL. Should I be worried?
June 27, 2025 at 15:51
Its hard to say. They have very few cases, so the difference between stopped and still going is hard to differentiate
June 27, 2025 at 17:09
The only worry I have is that maybe my DS260 hasn’t been processed. I don’t know why, I submitted it last year in August but then unlocked it to fix an error and submitted again in September. Seems like it has enough time.
The one part of the DS260 that worries me is that I completed both mine and my wife’s but left my sons incomplete because he’s a US citizen already and the KCC indicated that I don’t need to file a DS260 for him and I believe I read online multiple times that leaving a dependent that’s not immigrating with you incomplete is totally fine.
I guess I can email them to ensure that it’s processed.
Any thoughts on that?
Thank you so much Brit.
June 27, 2025 at 17:30
You can email KCC to check status.
June 27, 2025 at 17:43
Thanks Brit. If it’s processed and it turns out the Dublin embassy is slow or stopped or something, what options do we have? Could we change to another embassy? We already live in the US, could we change to AOS at this time?
June 27, 2025 at 19:13
You could switch to AOS. The link below gives you all the AOS info you need.
https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2025-aos-adjustment-of-status-process-only.348160/
June 28, 2025 at 09:53
Thanks Brit, actually I did email them and got a reply saying what I believe is the “stage 4” reply, that says “Your case number is now current for interview processing. If you are scheduled for an interview date…”. Does that indicate that my DS260 has in fact been processed? Would they have replied with that if it had not been processed?
When I check visa status it just says at NVC, could that mean they haven’t even sent it to Dublin? Or could that simply mean Dublin hasn’t scheduled yet?
Recently (couple weeks ago) I did a renewal of my L1B visa stamp in Dublin, I assume that wouldn’t have affected scheduling? The officer actually mentioned “I see you have an application for diversity visa” so he saw it in his system, does that mean that they were actually already handed the case at that time, or would he have always just been able to see it regardless? Cause if they have it then I guess I could contact the Dublin consulate and ask for updates.
June 28, 2025 at 12:04
Stage 4 means processed.
The CO can see any cases you have, but it does not mean they have been sent your case by KCC – that will only happen if Dublin tell KCC to schedule x number of cases.
June 28, 2025 at 12:07
So based on my understanding it’d still be pretty easy to switch to AOS at this point because Dublin doesn’t have the case yet? What would be your choice here? How long would you wait before switching to AOS at this point? I was thinking end of next week to give them the final few days to send the 2NLs as you said that they can be sent right up until the first few days of the following month.
So if I don’t get it by end of next week, what do you think about switching to AOS and following the early filing process ASAP?
June 28, 2025 at 12:14
The final CP cases could be scheduled as late as late July or early August. So – yes you could wait and see if you get a late June 2NL, but all the time you wait, the clock is ticking. I think I would already be assuming no August interviews would be sent. And on that basis switching to AOS now would be my choice. But – it’s your choice…
June 15, 2025 at 19:22
Hello Mr. Simon,
My number is 43450, and I am from Egypt. The last bulletin end at 43250, so is possible that I will get 2NL next bulletin or not?
June 16, 2025 at 16:41
Yes it is possible.
June 14, 2025 at 15:21
According to your calculations, what should the final EU cut-off be for mathematically ? I’m guessing around EU27,500(15106 cases before)
June 14, 2025 at 16:07
The math is just the math at the moment. I’m going to wait and see…
June 12, 2025 at 00:56
Hello Sir, what are the possibilities for 2025AS110** from Nepal and could KDU manage to schedule for interview for this case number?
June 13, 2025 at 16:05
It’s possible.
June 13, 2025 at 21:31
Hi Raz! Do you know the highest case number or range in Nepal? Is it around 12k – 13k? or
13k – 14k?
June 14, 2025 at 00:35
I think its around 12.5k maybe
But not 100% sure about that.
June 11, 2025 at 23:47
Hello Brit, am CN AF81k Doha embassy ,how do you see my chances of getting 2nl since the july VB was 50k? Is there still a chance?
June 13, 2025 at 16:04
Obviously risky, all you can do is wait and see.
June 11, 2025 at 19:23
If we compare the visa bulletins for 2024 and 2025, can we say that the bulletins for the EU region are progressing in the same ? Also, the total number of processed EU cases around this date last year is the same as this year 16,000 have been processed by this point in both years. That’s why I believe October-August 2025 and October- August 2024 are essentially the same in terms of processing for visa bulletin.
What are your thoughts on this?
Bulletin Numbers for DV-2025 and DV-2024 (EU region):
DV-25
• April → 16,000 (8,634 Before Cases)
• May → 16,000 (8,634 Before Cases)
• June → 17,500 (10,450 Before Cases)
• July → 18,000 (11,664 Before)
• August → 22,000 (12,554 Before)
• September → 30,000 or Around 36,000 (My Expectation)
DV-24
• April → 17,500 (8,859 Before)
• May → 18,000 (9,062 Before)
• June → 21,000 (10,727 Before)
• July → 27,500 (12,406 Before)
• August → 30,000 (13,700 Before)
• September → 50,000 (18,000 Before)
June 13, 2025 at 15:51
There is one bulletin left. I’m just going to wait and see what it brings…
June 11, 2025 at 15:51
Hi sir how are u? i trust your predictions do you think dv2025 eu27300 could be current in the next bulletin? What are the chances? thank you sir
June 11, 2025 at 16:40
I don’t know – we have to wait and see now…
June 11, 2025 at 11:48
Hi Simon,
I am AF47XXX and I’m doing AOS. Based on the latest bulletin I will be current in August. When would you advise that I send my package? Or can I send it now? Thank you for your time!
June 11, 2025 at 12:49
NOW!
You should already have known this. I hope you are following instructions as laid out below.
https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2025-aos-adjustment-of-status-process-only.348160/
June 11, 2025 at 08:54
Dear Simon,
It looks like only September remains. I don’t fully understand the system yet, but based on historical data for Europe, I see three possible scenarios for September:
Option 1: A figure around 25,000
Option 2: CURRENT
Option 3: 50,000 (as in 2024)
Could you please help me understand what my chances would be in each scenario if I have # 29,000? Many, many thanks!
June 11, 2025 at 12:07
Option 1: Screwed.
Option 2: Depends on which embassy you are at and their capacity.
Option 3: Depends on which embassy you are at and their capacity. (by the way this option is impossible since numbers don’t go that high in DV2025)
June 11, 2025 at 13:40
Thank you, Simon, this is super clear now! Does the Warsaw embassy have a good reputation and capacity?
June 11, 2025 at 14:24
Yes. However, their capacity has not been really tested this year, so that could be a concern at EU29K. Let me explain.
Up to now, WRW has taken about 40 cases for each 1000 case numbers. If that demand stays the same up to your number, then in the final month they would need to get from 22k to 29k – which would require 7 x 40 interview spaces – about 280 spaces. We have not seen that capacity from them in DV2025 nor DV2024. So – it is uncertain whether they could get to your number even if you become current.
So – you can accept that as a risk, OR you can try and move your case to a different embassy. I have explained how to do that analysis, and how to move embassies. So, if I were you I would think hard about what to do.
June 10, 2025 at 20:26
Nairobi as well they have only scheduled 421 cases out of 5500 plus cases from Kenya and Uganda, and 0 got 2NL.
Maybe new lawsuit for those countries?
Thank you.
Contact please Curtis about that. Today African countries, tomorrow everyone else.
June 10, 2025 at 20:50
Lawsuits on non performance of specific embassies don’t work. The embassies have the right to set their own capacity.
June 10, 2025 at 18:50
Asia was 15,000 last June and jumped to 28,500 in July. This hail-mary nonsense is the only thing that is making me think a 23,XXX number still has a small chance of becoming current. One more month to wait and find out.
June 10, 2025 at 20:48
Best of luck!
June 10, 2025 at 17:46
Hi BritSimon,
My case number is 2025AF62k and looking at the current visa bulletin for August, do I still have a chance in the last visa bulletin?
June 10, 2025 at 18:35
Maybe
June 10, 2025 at 17:20
Hello, with the release of the latest visa bulletin , any chances for EU27150 in Hong Kong U.S embassy ?
June 10, 2025 at 18:35
We have to wait and see…
June 10, 2025 at 11:31
Sent my DS June last year UpTo date haven’t heard anything from kcc
June 10, 2025 at 11:34
Do I send my documents case number 70k plus
June 10, 2025 at 14:07
The do not need documents, but it seems you spent a whole year and haven’t understood anything about the process. Your case number is important, you are not yet eligible to be interviewed. There is one more Visa Bulletin, and the AF number is current to 50,000 – so you need a big jump on the final VB.
June 10, 2025 at 11:15
If my number EU27xxx gets current in September, is Stockholm a good embassy?
June 10, 2025 at 14:05
Yes
June 10, 2025 at 09:20
my number is 1200 away in asia region, i really hope that the number would reach next month
June 10, 2025 at 08:06
Hello BritSimon,
I’m a Sierra Leonean DV2025 AF25916.
My two parents and I are born in Sierra Leone, but I can be able to get a Liberian passport in order to prove myself a geo-national.
The thing here is that my case is current and I can’t be able to make changes on the birth city of my parents in the DS260 that will grant me the right for a possible visa issuance.
What do you advise I should do at this moment? 🙈
June 10, 2025 at 10:16
Get that second passport and hope to be scheduled.
June 10, 2025 at 05:54
Hi 🙂 What do you think of possibility high jumping to 15000 in September for Asia (same last year occurs high jump in last month)? If not likely, Why’s not in your opinion? Thx so much for your kindness.
June 10, 2025 at 10:15
That’s not such a big stretch. Let’s wait and see.
June 10, 2025 at 05:32
Hi Simon. I’m disappointed by this VB with my case at 2025AF64k, YDE. I’m hoping YDE has a significant drop in case density beyond 50k. I’m hesistant to move to another embassy because of my family size and attendant cost. Why do certain embassies experience a significant drop in case density at high case numbers and others not? For example, YDE and NRB in Dv2024 had significant drops at high case numbers, allowing them to reach the highest cases.I once heard you say the drop is because of people moving their cases but I’m not convinced. Do you have another theory? Could it be that at high case numbers, priority is given to Ds260 submission date ? Ps. I have done the math and I know YDE needs to do at most least 400 interviews from 50k to get to my number( a long shot from their average rate of 200 interviews per month). But if there is a significant drop in density, my math could be wrong and that’s what truly bugs me.
June 10, 2025 at 10:14
“I once heard you say the drop is because of people moving their cases” – nope – I have never said that was “THE” reason.
The most likely reason is density drops in the region. Density drops come from specific countries being “limited” during the draw. So if a limited country has a lot of selectees at one embassy, that embassy experiences a drop in cases per thousand when the limit range is hit.
June 10, 2025 at 03:44
Hi Simon,
With an EU30K number it’s not looking good for me, but I keep hoping on a miracle. In case my number gets current, what are my chances with the Brussels Embassy?
Thanks
June 10, 2025 at 09:48
Good
June 10, 2025 at 02:38
Hello BritSimon,
I am EU202529xxx do you think i still have a chance for what is left or should i give up my dreams for the DV lottery of 2025
June 10, 2025 at 09:47
This is a pointless question because even if I said “give up” you wouldn’t ignore the last VB – right?
June 11, 2025 at 06:25
Yes you are right,my main point was if is still possible reaching that number when we only have
2 months left, asume it becomes current on September , i live in Tirana , Albania is a good embassy or let’s say are the processing fast with the interviews? If you have any info of course about Tirana.
Thank you for your time.
June 11, 2025 at 12:04
So far they are doing well. I have demonstrated the method to assess embassy performance in many videos… it is very easy to do from Xarthisius’ page.
June 10, 2025 at 01:33
Hi simom,
I really hoped this VB will reach 13k for asia. I know really dont like answer these type questions. But Is there still chance for 129## in last VB?
June 10, 2025 at 09:43
Of course.
June 10, 2025 at 14:09
How about AS 13200 – ROA?
June 10, 2025 at 15:22
Seriously?? Use some judgement.
June 9, 2025 at 23:56
hey Mr Brit my case number is AF524**K Nairobi do i still have a chance
June 10, 2025 at 09:41
That entirely depends on NRB – I don’t know what they will do.
June 9, 2025 at 22:51
I would need Europe to reach at least 37,000 to still I have a chance. It doesn’t look good though, unless a miracle happens and Europe becomes current in September, which I doubt.
June 9, 2025 at 23:45
Yep – that sounds high. But who knows. The 50K number last year had no basis in reality.
June 9, 2025 at 19:42
Hello Brit,
How are you
Hope you are doing well
I’m just asking about the us ban about some countries will the effects dv lottery winners or not can you please tell me .
Thanks
June 9, 2025 at 22:44
The ban affects lottery winners for all 19 countries.
June 9, 2025 at 18:25
My number in Asia is 18,000. Do you think I still have a chance to get an interview and have my number appear in the upcoming final visa bulletin? Should I remain optimistic, or does the very slow increase in Asia explain everything? Also, do you know the reason behind this very slow increase in Asia, especially considering that in previous years the number 18,000 did appear?
June 9, 2025 at 22:44
Let’s keep hope.
June 9, 2025 at 17:59
Very slow VB this year. They really intend to under fill it seems. We hope Nairobi can schedule this 2 months.
June 9, 2025 at 22:42
I certainly hope so.
June 9, 2025 at 17:32
Asia is progressing very slow, do you think they will progress until 15,000 by September?
June 9, 2025 at 22:41
I hope so – in a month, we will know.
June 9, 2025 at 16:54
Hi Simon,
By “healthy”, do you mean there’s a chance Asia could reach 16–17K in the last VB of FY2025 as we had hoped earlier this year? Curious to hear your thoughts on that.
June 9, 2025 at 22:39
We will see…..
June 9, 2025 at 16:21
Hi, as per the status of the current VB, do you think the number may exceed 73,000 case numbers for Africa mainly Liberia?
June 9, 2025 at 22:39
I don’t know.
June 9, 2025 at 16:01
Thank you Brits for this. This is not only unhelpful to Iranian, this also NOT helpful for most Africa countries, though are not in BAN. Imagine someone with case number less than 40,000 still up to date has no idea when he will receive 2NL. If you to Xavier website, you find the embassy is current processing case number less than 20,000. Dar es Salaam and Nairobi are real killing our dreams.
June 9, 2025 at 22:38
I know.
