The new visa bulletin has been released. Some nice jumps in there to cheer people up after three VBs with almost no movement.
Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.

Hello Brit, how is Kuwait embassy in terms of performance in the past years? Especially for case numbers in the mid 12000s for Asia region.
December 5, 2024 at 12:15
It is not a busy embassy, so you can’t read anything into the performance.
November 26, 2024 at 10:18
Hello sir
CN2025AF12*** . I have been current since but I actually don’t know what is the problem with freetown embassy.
Do you have any information as to why the delay ?
November 26, 2024 at 10:36
I don’t have any information, no.
November 25, 2024 at 21:20
Hi Brit,
We have our interview in 5 days but I’m concerned about our 1 year baby who the passport still not available. You the embassy will deny us the visa because baby passport not ready yet?
November 26, 2024 at 08:58
No. They will simply arrange to attach the visa once the passport is available.

Hello Birtsimon, hope you are doing well. The principal applicant has lost their High-school certificates and only has their Bachelors degree, however, on the Bachelors their name is written incorrect, would this cause any problems, many thanks.
November 25, 2024 at 19:19
Possibly. They should take the High School results to the interview also.
November 25, 2024 at 20:46
They have lost all High-school documentation including results, how much problem does having an incorrect name on a document cause at the embassy during interview?
November 26, 2024 at 08:58
Well, it is the combination of factors. They lost the documents they should show and all they have is a document with the wrong name. It’s risky of course. The only way to be sure is at the interview.
November 25, 2024 at 09:43
Hi Brit, I am going to be interviewed in a country different than where I was born. It is hard for me to go back to my country and get my high school diploma. Would they ask high school diploma even if I have a college degree? Also, do you think it makes sense to ask such questions to the embassy? Or, since it’s up to the consular officer is it just better to over-prepare docs without even bothering asking?
November 25, 2024 at 13:14
Assume they will want your HS documents.

Hello Britt, DV2023AF500** from Orlando FL. I want to send an application for Adjustment of Status for my wife which is on an F-1 Status. 1- I am allowed to use my US Stocks Portfolio as an additional proof of finances as her sponsor? 2- Is it better to file forms I-130 and I-485 together or separately. 3- This might be a dumb question but I’m trying to cut costs. As a very good instructions follower, do you think strictly following USCIS AoS instructions on their website enough to skip a lawyer?
November 23, 2024 at 13:44
I only answer DV lottery questions.
November 22, 2024 at 15:03
Hello Brit,
Hope you are doing fine. My case number is 2025AF22### which might likely be current next month and my wife just give birth today. What your advice to us.
1, should we write KCC to unlock our ds260 so that we can add our child?
2, should we write our embassy to inform them about our child that is just Born?
3, what do you think is your best advice to us?
Thank so much for your help and hoping for your response very soon.
November 23, 2024 at 09:00
1. Yes – immediately. That is the simplest way to add the child.
2. No
3. Unlock both DS260s (to add the child) and use the “add applicant” feature for the baby.
November 25, 2024 at 08:01
Thank so much for your response. But have one more concerned. I have already written KCC to unlock our ds260 and waiting for them to unlock it. We haven’t gotten passport for our daughter that was just Born.
Q. If KCC unlock our ds260, is it possible to add her with out passport ?
2, should we wait until we get passport for her before adding her?
Thank so much for your help.
November 25, 2024 at 13:13
1. Yes
2. No
November 20, 2024 at 15:36
Hello britsimon I submitted my dv late October when should I wait for my interview
November 21, 2024 at 00:38
Do you mean you entered the lottery in October. The results will be available in May.
November 18, 2024 at 15:43
Hello BritSimon,
My case number is 2025AF24XXX and I submitted my DS260 in November. When am I likely to be interviewed?
Thank you
November 18, 2024 at 18:27
I don’t know – there are too many unknowns and the Trump win has become another unknown.
November 17, 2024 at 12:09
Hi Simon, hope you doing well and are having a good weekend!
I am an DV2025 winner from Tirana, Albania, EU38XX, (my number is currently in visa bulletin) completed the DS260 this June. I have not still received 2NL. Any comment or thoughts from your experience, or US embassy/consulate in Albania is busy working slowly…
November 18, 2024 at 08:50
I don’t have data to track their performance – that is only available on January 1.
November 16, 2024 at 23:06
Hello BritSimon,
I have just received my 2NL, interview scheduled for January 16th. Is it worth sending the embassy an email to bring the date forward so that I can increase my chances of entering the US before January 20th for the reason you might understand 🙂
November 18, 2024 at 08:39
You can try that. But I don’t think we are going to see a total ban, so you might be worrying for no reason.
November 21, 2024 at 07:21
Which embassy are you going to be interviewed?
November 15, 2024 at 06:48
Hi BritSimon,
I became current during the latest Visa Bulletin, but when I emailed KCC two days later, they told me that my case is still processing. I submitted my DS-260 during the first week of May 2024 and unlocked it on September 9 2024 to add my current occupation and LinkedIn account and submitted it on the same day. I am a single applicant with a CN 2025AF20K from Sierra Leone (Freetown Embassy).
The performance of previous cases in my region has been good, going up to CN 80K. Could there be any reason why my case is still in processing rather than being processed?
November 15, 2024 at 08:14
It happens. Cases process at different speeds depending on the case.
November 14, 2024 at 15:24
Hello BritSimon, I would appreciate if you could share with me the way of knowing how to verify my case processing time. Thank you !
November 14, 2024 at 18:01
That’s a really vague question.
DS260 processing time varies, you can email KCC to ask it is processed.
Cases must be processed and current to be scheduled, and only then if the embassy has capacity. So – I don’t know any of that in your case….
November 14, 2024 at 15:05
Good evening sir/Mme
My interview was schedule for the 13th September 2023,
And on 12th September I received a message saying all interviews were cancelled till further notice
But till date nothing
Should we still be waiting
November 14, 2024 at 17:59
No, that was DV2023 – the year finished and all visas were issued.
November 14, 2024 at 10:28
Thank you so much britsimon. You doing a wonderful thing, God Bless You abundantly
November 13, 2024 at 18:11
Hello Simon. I am EU11k and submitted my ds260 in may . I don’t understand if my case number is current or still processing, do u know when 2NL come out?
November 14, 2024 at 08:42
Your timing will depend on whether your ds260 is processed or not, and whether your embassy has capacity. If both those things are OK, then you could get your 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks.
November 13, 2024 at 14:15
Good day BritSimon
I’m AF25***
My wife is still studying and has not completed her course and on the education history of her DS260, I entered all the information and in the area where they requested degree I stated STILL STUDDING at the end I was not allowed to submit because I have to enter date of completion. So I enter the date before that very day I filled and submitted the ds260 in other for me to submit. Will that affect our visa?
November 13, 2024 at 17:05
No. It would actually have been in the current occupation as a student, but what you did is OK.
November 14, 2024 at 05:52
Halloo sir when will I pick my VISA my case is 17k embassy Nairobi
November 14, 2024 at 08:51
I don’t know.
November 21, 2024 at 07:19
Which Dv year dis you win and when did you go for interview?
November 14, 2024 at 11:52
I requested KCC to open it and I have made the changes, omitted where necessary and have submitted already.
Should I print out and carry along with me the recently submitted ds260 on the interview day or the old one?
Please reply!!
November 14, 2024 at 14:47
The recently submitted one, if you want.
November 13, 2024 at 12:12

November 13, 2024 at 11:28
You can look at my link in the menu for historical numbers.
November 13, 2024 at 02:33
My case number is 20258NDZ030133SS,when will I be interviewed
November 13, 2024 at 11:10
That is your confirmation number, not your case number.
November 12, 2024 at 22:40
Do you have any idea on what is wrong with Kigali embassy ? No single 2NL yet
November 13, 2024 at 11:09
I don’t know that to be correct – but no I don’t have any information.
November 12, 2024 at 22:23
Hello britsimmons. I am AF19K and submitted ds 260 in July. Till 1st November it was still processing. Are cases processed after they become current? What is the maximum time the processing can take based on past cases?
November 13, 2024 at 11:09
Case processing time varies. Because yours wasn’t processed by the beginning of November, you probably won’t get your 2nl this month, and will wait an extra month.
